Congrats on the weight-loss...as for the sun allergy, you should move here. Sun is a very rare sight here in Newfoundland!

Go Rebecca!

I am going to try to get in 14 more days of CLEAN induction and then go to phase 2. Nuts, berries, and the occasional glass of wine.

Sounds good to me

It was important to me to be at the dedication but I am beginning to think it wasn't worth it. It is frustrating because I went from being an active outdoor person to no not being able to go fishing, clamming, scalloping, shooting or walking even - and I swear it happened overnight. Heck I even have to be careful of sun that comes in car windows on me...

Rebecca -- WHOO HOO!!

Violet - I was told by both my dermatologist and allergist that the sun allergy comes from my Celtic ancestors - and usually happens in your 40's (about the only thing I have ever been average at since it happened around 45). I get red and welts pop up that itch and burn at the same time - if I can keep from irritating it it is only very very annoying - but if anything touches the area it increases dramatically - it gets redder the welts get bigger and in itching and burning gets so bad that I have drawn blood scratching. Even air going over it can make it worse. I could slather myself with sunscreen and it wouldn't matter because it is a different spectrum of that that causes it - even driving in the car with the sun coming in can cause it to happen...it looks like a skin disease - think of the worst sunburn and sun you ever had in your life and times it by 10 minimum even as it is getting better you can see the welts for a long time and they still get bigger and worse if you irritate it at all -- I have always burned having fair skiing and quite a bit of red in my hair - but we were on vacation in Maryland that year and we walked around and walked on the beach and it started literally at the dinner table in a restaurant that night - I rubbed ice on it, bought calamine lotion and creams and did anything I could think of during that long weekend not knowing what was going on - then went to the doctors when I got home and got the diagnosis. I really don't love the sun at all... Just call me vampira

Rho...that sounds awful! Have you been evaluated for lupus? Do you have any of the other signs of lupus? That sounds like what happens when lupies get out in the sun.

I have a celtic heritage too

I tend to get sunburned more easily than I used to

Stay safe from the hurricane Sask!

As far as the challenge goes, I've been staying on plan

I'm not going to weigh tomorrow though. I'm going to wait another week and see how it goes

Happy Friday everyone!

I have been tested in the past - not recently though -

I envy you your being able to stay away from the scale - I fight with myself not to get on the scale 10 times a day and to keep it to twice a week.. My goal is to have enough faith in this eating plan to go only by my clothes getting looser and only weighing In at doctor visits ... I don't know if that will ever happen though - but I would like not having the numbers means so much to me.
