I haven't been on Atkins for a couple of weeks. I know, big shock! I love Atkins but decided to start eating beans and whole grains--bad idea, they're not even that good. Plus, fat free cheese tastes like plastic!
I'm going back on Atkins as soon as I can get to the grocery store, either tomorrow or Friday (when I get paid) I'm going to stock up on meats for the freezer and lots of eggs and veggies. I think I'm Atkins for life because I love eating this way too much to give it up.
I confess I have a pizza on the way right now because it's midnight and I'm starving. I think I've gained about 5-10 pounds but I'm not stressed about it because I know it's water weight and it will fall right off again once I go back to low carb. Who knows, maybe eating high carb for a while shook up my system and I'll start losing even better than before!
I'll be in for this Halloween challenge as soon as I can get to a scale and start low carbing again. Expect me here soon, I'd love to be in the 150s by Halloween (and fit into the new medium American Eagle hoodies that my mom ordered for me earlier today).
An update on what I've been up to: I moved out on my own about a month ago and got a job at Olive Garden. I walk about a mile every day (It's about 0.5 miles to work and I walk back and forth most days) plus stand and walk around every day for 4.5-5 hour shifts. It's not a ton of activity but it still counts. Unfortunately I've fallen victim to social eating now that I live near friends, plus it's hard to control yourself sometimes when you've been drinking. Either way I had a nice little vacation from Atkins but I miss it so I'm coming back!

I would say it's fine to join in - maybe if you have a record back to the date it began and use that for your start weight so you aren't trying to lose too much in a shorter time.. And if you go over that loss great too...

Rebecca - could it be you are losing inches - do you have something that was tight that you can try on. Or something that is tight now that you can use as a guide. Did you look back to see if there were any changes that could make a difference in your loss? But it could just be a weight loss trend - I find I lose a decent amount then I lose very little for awhile then I lose again - but I have found that when I'm not losing as many numbers that is when my clothes seems to get looser...

OK, I missed this week's weigh in and am committing myself (and I can't say an institution isn't implied here) to a cheat free week with a good weigh in next Saturday. We've had obstacles, and been fairly good in spite of them, but not as good as we should have been.
We had a ruptured pipe in basement, pumped out we guessed about 6000 gallons of water. No running water for 3 days - we ate a little off plan. Then for my birthday dinner I went astray pretty far. Today I've been quite good and have recommitted to my plans. So, I've dusted myself off, caught the horse, and I'm getting back on again.

I'm joining in too! I'm 5 days back into LC and have already lost about 8 lbs! Of course, I was retaining some serious water before I restarted, but I'll still take it.
Last October, I got down to the 182-185 range and then jumped off the LC wagon and ended up regaining 20 lbs. The worst part is that I don't even remember how or why (or even exactly when!) I stopped eating LC. It just . . . happened. I spent most of 2011 trying to convince myself that I could lose weight while counting calories, but that always spells disaster for me. I did go back to LC in June and found my way back to 195 or so, but I took a week off, was able to maintain/lose with calorie counting for just those few days, and then (once again!) convinced myself that I could keep it up. Um, no. Sugar awakens the carb monster and causes me to binge binge binge. And back up to 206 I went. So now I'm back. And I'm committed!
My goal? Back to 185 by Halloween. Then 180 by Thanksgiving, 175 by New Year's, and 165 by Valentine's Day. And then ultimately 145 by next summer.
