Default What about fake sugars in maintenance?

Hi All - I usually dont eat fake sugars. I do when in induction (1/2 pack in my coffee and the occaisonal diet coke, sf jello etc) but I try to avoid a lot of the stuff with the fake sugar - no OOPsie muffins etc.

I am hoping to only eat the fake sugar for about 3 months and then eliminate it from my diet. I dont want to go back to eating a lot of regular sugar but am wondering if a little in my coffee in maint will give me cravings?

What are oopsie muffins? The only oopsie rolls that I know of have no sugar or artificial sweeteners... As for your question, I think it will really depend on what your body can tolerate. I don't know if I will ever be able to eat real sugar on a regular basis. No one in my family can. So, I don't eat many sweets. I do occasionally drink a diet coke, but for my coffee I use a natural sweetener called 'Sweetleaf'. It is make from Stevia and Inulin (Chicory root). Good stuff! But the only way you will know what will work is to try it and be aware. You may use one tsp. in the AM and it not bother you. You may use it and in an hour feel like the cookie monster! Just no way to know until you try it. But that's my suggestion!

I had some sf jello last night because I didnt want to give into my cravings and eat something with real sugar in it. For some reason I did good for the 3rd through 8th day with no cravings in induction but then in the last couple days they have been hitting me hard. I have been fighting them successfully but I just needed something to shut it up last night. I ate 2 servings of it and presto craving be gone and none so far this morning. We will see what the day brings but I am typically (before atkins) a sweet freak so I think that worked out pretty well for some one like me! Good luck!

Also I want to add I have been following atkins to a tee minus the caffeine and sweeteners part and it has not stalled my weight loss. I stay with in the amount counting the packets like your supposed to but I do go over the 3 or so your allowed some days. However I figure if I start seeing stalls I will slowly weed those out and see if it helps. Just thought I would throw that in there sense some people do have stalls and others dont with these things.

I use davinci syrup in my coffee and almond milk everyday. It doesn't seem to affect me at all, but everyone is different.
I've tried to drink coffee without it, and just can't do it.
