I'm a big egg lover -- I eat 2-3 whole eggs a day, maybe 4 days per week. I am very lucky to have a cheap source of farm eggs from a lady I work with. She also brings me duck eggs.
I can't believe all the years I spent throwing the yolks away!!! Live and learn...
I eat 4-5 scrambled eggs with 5 pieces of bacon almost everyday and have done so since July. My cholestrol is in the low range. They are very filling and give me a good way to start my day off.
Seems like it's not a problem for some, and I don't think egg whites count. I've seen a study (last year I think) that supported eggs, and recommended one a day, overall, it just said good things about eggs.
I think I eat a couple 3 times a week (or less), but I don't really have a consistent way of eating, I just count carbs. I was just looking at some deviled egg ideas!
Eggs are a great food for meals and snacks on Atkins! I don't eat them very often because I've never been too fond of them but deviled eggs are one of my favorite snacks. I say eat as many as you want until satisfied but remember to count the carbs!
One of my fav things to do for deviled eggs is using minced jalepenos or serrano peppers, onions, celery, cilantro, salt and pepper w/ mayo and/or mustard. I sprinkle paprika over the tops. I like them very hot!
i eat one boiled egg for b'fast and afternoon snack everyday @ work. i really like them boiled and not sure why i didn't like them before. I eat the white and the yolk btw.
I'm not afraid of eggs overall, but I wouldn't eat them raw because I care for my biotin levels a lot (growing out hair).
I see some of you only eat the recommend foods and worry a lot about details. I just count my carbs, and try to eat them as natural as possible, like Dr. Atkins recommends. I eat some foods like papaya, that I "shouldn't" be eating, but I feel a lot of benefits when I eat it and it's within my carb count. I don't count calories (I'm sure I eat a lot of them), buy I worry about amounts like eggs or bacon. So I don't eat them that often.
You egg lovers need to try turkey eggs if you can find them! One is a meal and they are rich tasting. When I had a steady supply I always wanted to make deviled eggs with them. The idea of these HUGE eggs along side of tiny pickles, olives and celery sticks on a hors d'oeuvers tray made me laugh. Sadly, I never got around to it.

Anne,
I believe you are mistaken. Atkins 72 did not set any limitations on eggs and the later versions of Dr. Atkins books said to enjoy eggs "liberally". I can't speak for the newest book....but, keep in mind, Dr. Atkins did not write that book.
Hard boiled eggs are a GIFT to weight losers! Perfect, nearly-whole food, and not deserving of the bad rap they got for so long! I think having them on hand as convenient snacks is a great idea, the deviled variety even better! Still, I love an omlette crammed with allowable veggies more than anything, for breakfast - it's so satisfying and "holds" me for hours. I've just lost 10lbs for the month of January, and am pleased as punch. Just fifty more to go! Good luck everyone!
