What's a Reasonable Loss Expectation?

I know everyone is different and we have different amounts to lose. However, what's an average, "reasonable", weekly weight loss expectation? I want to get back on track again this weekend (I'm not trying in the next few days b/c of functions I know I'll cheat at). And I'm curious as to what I could really lose (not cheating of course) by the end of the year.

Maybe if you all could tell me your averages or something and I'd have some encouragement and something to go on! :) I gained about 5-6 lbs on vacation and I'm struggling to get back on track again. I was perfect for 4 days and then blew it the next 5-6..ugh..

In A Week I Could Lose .5lb To 2.6lbs.

I'm 40 and I lose about 4-5 lbs. a month. When I was in my 20s I could lose more like 6 a month. I'm not very strict, I eat right and exercise, but I don't severely cut calories and I only work out 2-3 times a week. Your mileage may vary.

"Your mileage may vary".. I love that quote from here. Thanks ladies..keep the info coming. I plan on starting again Sunday or Monday (not sure if we're going to the football game on Sunday, but I know I have my sister's bday party on Saturday @ Red Lobster.

I need to start exercising too..that will make a big difference I'm sure.

1-2 a week is the MOST you should lose on average.

My loss has ranged from 0-3lbs a week.

Red Lobster has an entire "lite house" menu. You can probably find a ton of tasty on program dinner options (just avoid those biscuits!). I always think the best time to get back on plan is right now :) Good Luck!

I lose 0 to 4lbs a week. It depends on the week. The closer I get to goal the slower going it is. IMHO if the scale moves down it's been a good month. Even if it doesn't move at all it's a good month. Upward movement is what I aim to avoid. I'm doing this for the rest of my life... I'd rather lose slower than a tortoise than give up and gain it all back.
