Good morning all. I am loving the sugar free syrup in my coffee instead of splenda.
My goals for August:
1. Stay on induction.
2. Work out at least 6 days a week.
3. Spend more quality time with the kids before school starts.
4. Lose, Lose, Lose. lol!
Well gotta run. Going to Six Flags and to face a bathing suit for the water park....wish me luck!
I'm glad you started this thread, Simona. Start it every month for us, please.
Here are my goals for August:
*Stay on induction *Make a plan for eating at school *Start school with a positive attitude about my job and myself *Continue walking every day and increasing my time a little each week *Practice stress-relieving exercises I can do at school and at home *Find ways to reward myself that DO NOT INVOLVE FOOD *Buy a refrigerator for my room at school and stock it with Atkins snacks and water
If you're wondering, I teach high school English to 16 - 18 year-olds, general level and struggling students. I love them, but it is a challenge every day. Cut and paste my list and make myself visual reminders of my August Goals.

I appreciate your kind words. It is WOW! some days, but my students make me laugh and keep me young in so many ways. They know I care about them, and, as hard as it to believe, many of my students genuinely care about me. It can be an extremely rewarding profession. This will be my 22nd year with teenagers...no wonder I'm a little nuts!

I really believe that 2 of the most under-appreciated professionals are teachers and nurses.
My nieces when they were in grades 3-4 couldnt read at all. Their 1st school was failing them horribly. When they changed schools, I made a point to call the principal and ask for help [my nieces lived with me at this time]. They were tested and placed in these classes. They're both now able to read on their own and one of them is out of the Special Ed. classes next year. Remarkable progress. It has a lot to do with the teachers wanting to help and caring enough to help.
Thank you, Simona. Good for you for advocating for your nieces! Too many children never learn the basics because they're just passed over and along. I'm so glad they're doing well!

1. Just say "no" ... to carbs
2. Walk the dog with my son at least 2x/day to Trafalgar Rd, 3kms x 2 = 6km
3. Wake up before everyone else in the morning
= August reward: fit into black safari dress without "splitting" the buttons!!
