Gained weight?

  • No how in the world is that possible? I am up 2lbs? Huh? Actually in almost a week I have lost nothing. I am still doing induction and staying around 15 carbs a day. I have not even had a single cheat! Any suggestions?
  • What does your daily menu look like? How much water are you drinking? Exercise?
I know it can be frustrating when you don't see the scale moving but...are you losing inches? A week without a loss isn't considered a stall (although I know the frustration it brings). Also is TOM approaching soon?
  • Do you feel bloated?

After on while of eating like this I have gotten much better at sensing when my body is retaining water. If I wake up in the morning and feel all puffy, I know to take what the scale says with a pinch of salt that day.

Drinking more water helps for me.
  • I was going to say the exact questions Kim asked when I read the topic. I know how discouraging it is to actually gain weight instead of lose. Just don't give up! We will try to help you as best we can!
  • Ohh I am not giving up by any means.

Here was my menu for yesterday:

B: 2 eggs, sausage, decaf coffee
    S: 1oz cheese
L: Mixed green salad with turkey, avacado, bacon, & cheese (Blue cheese dressing)
D: Grilled chicken ceaser salad (no crutons)

I am drinking 8-10 glasses a water a day and I do yoga on M-W-F. I don't have much more time to work out, because I work full time, have an 8 month old, run a pug rescue, and show and breed champion pugs. I'm tired!
  • Odd as this may sound, it doesn't appear to me you are eating enough. Atkins Induction is 20 carbs per day, 12-15 of those should be coming from veggies & salad on the acceptable foods list. You might want to try adding a veggie with your dinner....maybe some broccoli or some green beans with butter.

On Atkins since your body burns fat for fuel, its important to get plenty of fat in your diet. Prepare your eggs in butter or olive oil if you aren't already doing that, add a Tbsp of heavy cream to your decaf, use full fat salad dressings and by all means, use butter on your veggies!!

I know its frustrating but, sometimes you just need to make a few tweaks to get things moving again!

    All the best to you!!

  • Thanks for the tips...I will use every one of them!!!
