Good Evening Ladies!!
I just got finished doing my walk. I upped my speed and my incline. I am finally at a pace that I just wasn't sweating anymore.....now to start over w/something more.
I watched the Biggest Loser finally tonight. Been watching the whole season. Totally inspirational!! I just couldn't believe the transformation. One shocker was one of the gals who lost weight at home. She looked amazing!! Did anyone else watch it?? She lost half her weight. She looks like a tiny doll now!!
Well the end of the year is just about here. I can't believe how time has flown. Things are going to be getting busy in the next couple days or so and then the Christmas will be here. So if I'm not around as much that's the reason why. I'll check in when I can. And I will try to do individuals if I have time.
I need to clean up the house a bit and then take a shower and head off to bed. You all have a great night!
12-14-2006, 11:09 AM
SUE...I'm confused, do you and DH have a house in Las Vegas that you stay at part of the year? I thought you were just going to visit someone.:?:
MARTI...I love Biggest Loser! I could not believe the transformations last night, and yes, that girl that lost her weight at home, OMG what a difference! Erik, who ended up winning by losing 214 pounds, he looks so good, just amazing! They are all so inspiring to me and I need to get myself in gear too!:o
12-14-2006, 12:50 PM
Michelle--There is a high winds and flood watch for Oregon & Washington......up til Saturday. So you and your family be careful ok!?
Morning to everyone else out there!
Got get to work.
12-14-2006, 11:34 PM
Just a quick pop-in. I'm so tired, but the dinner party was a huge success! There were 9 of us and we had so much fun! Several of them want my recipes, which makes me feel good. I did as much as I could for the party yesterday, so today wasn't too hectic, but it's still been a long day, and I'm headed for a shower soon.
I'll be back tomorrow after a good night's rest.
12-15-2006, 02:14 AM
Hi ladies....checking in quickly. Still busy here with getting the house straightened up and groceries, etc. Today we had to take the van for an oil change. We went out to eat and did manage to gamble just a bit...no biggies. :)
Michelle- Yes, we have a place in Vegas and spend the winter here. Get out of the mid-west snow that Jane seems to look forward to. Haha. We are here now until, hopefully, April. HAd to go home early the last two years, so we are gearing up for a nice stay this time.
See you all tomorrow....Sorry I am being so brief.
12-15-2006, 02:59 AM
Just a quickie. I won't bore you with my long winded posts. lol.
Just wanted to say hi and hope you all are doing okay. We went and got our friends and their kids presents tonight. Now we just have each other and the in-laws.
Have a Great Day.
12-15-2006, 06:53 AM
Sassy--you are never a bore..you always make me smile!!
Sue--Is the house from the pictures with the workshop for hubby in LV or somewhere else? DH wants to get a place in AZ.
Jane--glad your party went well!
Michelle--Hi..Eric did look amazing!!
Marti--things will be getting crazy for me too!! At work if I wasn't busy enough they are giving me parts of to other people's jobs, one guy is leaving for a job in Illinois and I will be fielding his phone calls and answering parts of them and the lady that is being transferred to a different department will be giving me like 25% of her job. I just don't know how much more they can give me and expect everything to get done!!
Everyone's new avatars are cute. I am up early to get a couple of things done. Going to meet DD for a matinee and see "The Holiday" and then DH, DD & friend, DS & gf are all going out to my favorite mexican place.
12-15-2006, 09:38 AM
Good morning, ladies,
Sassy - have fun at your friend's house tonight. I'm like her - when I move, I get everything put away within a few days and can't stand to live out of boxes. About moving furniture, it really does make a nice change to move things once in awhile! Neal used to tease and say he's afraid to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night because he isn't sure where the bed will be when he comes back out, lol.
Sue - yeah, I have to admit, I love Indiana and all the seasons. I'm anxiously awaiting snow, and plan to make a snow angle with the granddaughters as soon as we get some, tee hee. Glad you had a nice flight out there.
Michelle - I think we'll all buckle down with our weight loss programs after the new year. I'm just trying to maintain right now, and that's hard enough!
Marti - wow, you're doing great with your progress on the treadmill. What do you do while you're on it? I watch tv, usually. Sometimes I listen to my iPod.
Jules - I think the movie The Holiday looks so cute, and told Mary that if she wants to go with Katie, I'll watch the rugrats for her. Actually, I'd like to see it myself, but Mary and Katie would really enjoy some time together w/o the kids.
Cristi - I'm still thinking about you. I know you're so very sad, and I wish there was something I could do to help you. I'd feel the very same way if my son was over there.
Mary Kate - how ya' doin'?
Hello to anyone else reading this.
Well, I had a great night's sleep, and feel all rested. We're watching Mary's kids when she works later today, but I really don't have anything scheduled until then, other than to get my Christmas tablecloth in the wash. Right now I think I'll just have another cup of coffee, lol.
What are your plans for the day?
12-15-2006, 12:37 PM
Good morning, ladies! Everybody got their halls all decked? :tree: :wreath: Kinda weird, but we decorated the tree in stages this year: got the tree up and lights on it Saturday afternoon, Noah and I decorated it some on Sunday, and then Sunday night Tim and I finished it. It's very pretty, though, and the nativity scene is up on the mantel, most of the presents wrapped and under the tree, so I feel like Christmas is coming...
:welcome2: Welcome to LC and Browneyedgrl0, if you ladies are still out there, c'mon in! Browneyedgrl0, I'm a big frozen yogurt fan, too -- no TCBY near me, but I found out that a cup of Costco frozen yogurt is only 4 WW points, and I split it with my husband or son, so that's only 2 points :D And if we get it before shopping, then it discourages me from eating too many samples :cbg:
No milk in the house this morning (well there was a little, but it was no longer drinkable!), so I made oatmeal for breakfast with cinnamon, golden raisins, a little brown sugar, and some fat free half and half.
Got a denial letter from Worker's Comp for the procedure I've been waiting for. They are asking the doctor for more information on how the procedure would help me -- ie: how it will get me back on the job. So now I wait to see if my doctor can convince them it's worth a try. :dunno:
Sassy, I was reading back on the previous thread -- maybe you better try a different Food Network show to watch! Chocolate dipped strawberries stuffed with cheesecake??? Holy toledo. :shocksn: Seriously, I have to watch certain shows very cautiously...I love Barefoot Contessa, even have one of her cookbooks, but a lot of the stuff she makes is so decadent. I watch her and mentally re-vamp her recipes, cutting down on the richer ingredients, focusing on the cooking techniques and the gorgeous presentation. She seems to be such a gracious hostess -- reminds me of a dear friend of mine :) And Paula Deen...well, bless her heart, she seems like such a sweet, wonderful lady, and I'd love to have her as a neighbor, but good grief..."Now, you need to add a cup of butter, half a cup of mayonnaise, a tub of sour cream...oh, and a cup of my secret ingredient, lard. Oh, and then a quart of heavy whipping cream..." Her recipes can be ridiculous. The other day, I saw her make a casserole with (I kid you not): buttered white bread, bacon, ham, tons of cheese, cream, crushed potato chips, and bananas :cb: Well, at least I had absolutely NO temptation to try that!!! In fact, after watching her make that, I pretty much lost my appetite :barf:  I really like Rachel Ray's and Alton Brown's shows, though...
Michelle, glad your dr. says you're ok for now, and have time to decide whether or not you want surgery. By February, you should know if it's still giving you trouble, or if you can wait and see. If you do have surgery, sounds like the laprascopic option would be a lot easier recovery.
Marti, good job on the treadmill! :tread: Exercise seems to be a big component that I'm missing. When we go places, I love to walk -- we walked and walked in SF when we went a few weeks ago, and we walked all over in Ireland, but at home, where I've seen everything, I get bored pretty fast. Last thread you mentioned a "dogs only" store; in our town, they have a store like that next to Launderdog (a place where you can wash your own dog, they have tubs for them, and grooming tables, I think they sell shampoo and stuff), and there are a couple of "Barkerys" that sell dog biscuits and doggy treats
Cristi, we're thinking of you and we're here whenever you want to talk :grouphug: I still don't know if Erik will be deployed in January -- he hasn't called, and when his roommate moved out he lost his internet connection, and he hasn't gotten back online.
Sue, glad you made it there safe and sound. What's Christmas like Vegas-style?
Jane, yeah, I'm just trying to maintain through the holidays, too. I have some new recipes that I've either tried that were good, or I plan on trying...I'll try to get some in the recipe thread later today.
Jules, sounds like you did great with your shopping...wonderful, thoughtful gifts :) Funny, my youngest son loves Zombies, too...was the book "The Zombie Survival Guide"? And I got him a hoodie, too -- black with a Fender guitar on the front. He plays guitar and bass, so I hope he likes it.
For those of you who watch the Biggest Loser, I am curious. I've never seen it, but I've heard it's a good show and it definitely has a big following. One of the reasons I haven't watched it is because I got the impression that they were kind of cruel to the contestants -- making them exercise to the point of physical pain, tempting them with their favorite fattening foods, etc -- and they have to lose such a huge amount of weight in such a short time to be successful on the show, and that seems to be kind of dangerous, like crash dieting. :?: How long did it take that guy to lose 214 lbs? I dunno, maybe I have totally the wrong impression, since I've never even seen it, and should try watching it...so many people love the show :)
OK, it's taken me over an hour to type this novel, stopping for rest breaks. I guess I should post more often so my posts are more manageable, huh?
Talk to you all soon :)
12-15-2006, 03:34 PM
MARYKATE...It took Erik 8 months to lose 214 pounds; he lost 124 on the ranch in the first four months and the other 90 pounds at home on his own in the last four months. I don't understand how they do it in such a short amount of time, but he did look so good and totally different! I have watched all of the seasons and I love the show!:D
SUE...That's neat that you have another house to go when the cold weather comes in.;)
SASSY...Glad you are getting your shopping done. I have two more gifts to buy on Sunday and then I'm done.:p
JANE...Yes, we all will get back on track at the beginning of the year, for sure!:carrot:
JULES...Hope you are having a good day!
12-15-2006, 04:03 PM
Michelle (also Marti, and anyone else who has watched The Biggest Loser and can clue me in)...wow. 124 lbs in 16 weeks is about 8 lbs a week, and that seems rather extreme. 90 lbs in 16 weeks is about 5 1/2 lbs a week -- still extreme, but a little more reasonable. Doctors say a healthy rate of weight loss is something like 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 lbs per week.
Now, on the other hand, there is a man in our WW group who had a huge amount of weight to lose, I'm guessing he needed to lose well over 250 lbs. The first 90 or so seemed to come off relatively quickly; of course, he is a real stickler and followed the program to the letter, weighing and measuring ALL of his portions, writing down every single thing he ate, etc. But I know now, he's kind of frustrated and discouraged because he has plateau'd, and many weeks he doesn't lose very much, if at all. I think of it like a bicycle race that starts out on nice flat ground and you can zoom along, then you hit the uphill part of the race, and that's the part where it's hard to keep going -- or worse, hard to keep from sliding back down to the bottom of the hill. That's where I am, and have been for almost a year
On the show, do they have medical supervision? Doctors that monitor their progress, and their overall health, checking their kidneys and stuff? Did they mention if Erik had to have any body cosmetic surgery, like some folks who've had the gastro-bypass surgery and have lost weight really quickly? I'm losing at a really slow rate, but I worry sometimes because now I'm over 40 and my skin doesn't bounce back the way it would have when I was younger -- and I have about 90 lbs more to lose! :fr:
Also, are they mean to the contestants, or humiliate them, or is that a totally wrong perception I have? I think I read an article about the show when it first came out, and it really turned me off to it because it sounded like a lot of what they did was cruel...but then again, it may have been a very biased slant to that article, and I've never seen the show. I can't handle watching shows like "Survivor" because it seems to bring out the meanest instincts in people, like in the book "Lord of the Flies". :(
Inquiring minds (at least, my inquring mind!) want to know! :D
12-15-2006, 10:10 PM
MARY KATE...It is a very large amount that is lost by all the contestants in such a short time. I know there is doctors on the show and they do run tests. I know when Erik first got there, he didn't even know he had type two diabetes, and he also had high blood pressure and cholesterol. Since losing all of his weight, he has none of them anymore. I didn't see any of them being mistreated. I know the coaches can get very firm with them to try and get them to keep going, but the contestants can go home at any time. I hope I answered all of your questions lol. Just let me know if I missed something!:D :p
12-16-2006, 01:34 AM
Thanks for all the answers, Michelle :D Well, now I think I need to see the show, but probably not until next season, huh? Yeah, it's amazing all the health problems that can disappear when people get down to a healthy weight.
12-16-2006, 11:45 AM
MARY KATE...It is amazing how your health problems can change so much when losing weight, I agree!;)
I started not feeling very well early last night, and I was up most of the night sick, I guess with a flu bug. When I weighed myself, I have lost four pounds, but I'm not changing my ticker, because I know it's from being sick and isn't my true weight. My hubby is on his way to Kaiser, because he thinks he broke his left middle finger. Tonight we have his department's Christmas dinner to go to so I will be making my homemade chocolate chip cookies and cheese augratin potatoes today. I hope all of you have a wonderful day!
Hope you all are doing well. Had fun @ our friends house, we played Totally 80's version of Trivial Pursuit. It was lots of fun.
Jane -- I wish I were like that. I love to pack, but hate to put things away. But I did really well when we moved to the apt. we live in now, guess I just wanted it over with. :p
Hi Mary Kate -- I ususally don't watch many Food Network shows period, except for the occasional Alton Brown. We just happened to be watching that show that night as NOTHING else was on. I cannot stand Rachel Ray, she drives me up the wall! I know Loads of people adore her, but I just can't stand her. Paula Deen is sweet, but as you said she adds butter, mayo and sour cream to everything, bless her heart. lol. We used to watch her, but we don't anymore. She is a sweetie though! ;)
Michelle-- I just have my DH and my in-laws left and we think we figured out what to get my mil at least. Not so sure on FIL yet though.
Well I guess that "covers" everybody.

All is going okay in Las Vegas. Tonight we are getting rain, which is unusual. Seems we bring the cold weather with us wherever we go..it is warmer in Indiana right now. Geeze!
We haven't done anything exciting....just got the house cleaned and ready for a four month stay. Of course we have done some gambling...nothing major. haha..
To answer another question. The new house is our main home in Indiana. Here in LV we have a manufactured home in a senior park. We had planned on a condo when we first came here, but after looking and finding them too much like apartments we bought this. Nice to be away from the hustle bustle of the city but still close enough to have fun. Just wish it were warmer right now. Eek!
My darn computer here is acting up...so I never know if I am going to be able to post or not.
Happy Sunday chickies.
12-17-2006, 01:16 AM
Hey Sue!!!
Nice to "see" ya! Aw sorry about the rain and colder weather! It probably will warm up soon I would say! lol. Tomorrow here (in Ohio) its going to be 68 degrees! Can't beleive its almost Christmas Time!! :tree:
That sounds nice, your home in LV. I think DH and I will do something like that whenever we decide to retire. But instead of LV it's going to be Tennessee, as that is where most of his family is and we love it there! ;)
Well I hope you have a good time!

Just heard a really nice song, its "My Little Girl" By Tim McGraw (http://www.amazon.com/Greatest-Hits-Vol-Tim-McGraw/dp/B000CCD0EO). Scroll down towards the bottom to listen to a sample on the website.

I like to chit chat! Can I join?
12-17-2006, 03:32 AM
I'm Tiffany (or just Tiffie), a 23 year old woman who's engaged to a 25 year old computer geek :p . I have a lot of free time and a lot of weight to lose. Hoping and praying for a size 8 or under by the time my wedding comes up. Right now, I'm 222lbs and a tight 18 or comfortable 20. Ouch! :(
I'm on 1400 calories a day, and I do the Power90 workouts. And in a little under two weeks, I've seen some results: Lost an inch in my tummy, another in my hips, 3/4 inch on one thigh and 1/2 inch on the other. Gained one half inch on one bicep and 1/4 on the other arm. So far so good, even if I haven't lost a bunch of weight! My clothes are a little bit looser and I feel amazingly good.
I know I'm in need of a lot of support and encouragement, so I might post a couple of times a day if it's an especially good or bad one. Hope that's alright. :^:
Well, it's late and I have a horrible headache... Fell two days ago and banged my head on the cement, and the pain just isn't going away. Got a bottle of Dorvaset and another of Ibuprofen, and nothing seems to get rid of this pain. :?: So, goodnight everyone!
12-17-2006, 04:13 AM
Hello & :welcome3:, loveandlaughalways & Tiffie!
loveandlaughalways: Of course your welcome to join us, as is everybody! :D
Tiffie: I'm married to a computer geek myself, so I hear ya there! Good Job on the losing the inches and feeling better!
This is a wonderful, wonderful supporting, kind, and FUN group of Ladies!

That sounds like a concussion to me. Even if you didn't lose consciousness, it could still be a mild concussion. Nothing to worry about as long as your headaches are all that bother you. If you start feeling sick, dizzy, weak, or your eyes feel/look weird, you should see a doctor, STAT! Otherwise, sleep, water, healthy eating, more sleep, and maybe taking it easy on the exercise for a few days is the best thing for it. Did I mention sleep? lol :p Your head should start feeling better little by little. It has to heal. Just treat it like the flu. I know when I get the flu all I want to do is sleep. :D
Just my two cents, though. I'm not a doctor or anything, but I come from a family of rough and tumble brothers, so I've seen my share of concussions. It's not a big deal, you just have to watch out for any signs of brain damage (dizzy, weak, throwing up, mismatched pupils), take it easy for a little bit, and try not to hit your head again! ;)
12-17-2006, 09:27 AM
Thanks for the advice, guys. I actually went to the ER the day it happened because my fiance and his mom ganged up. I guess I can't blame them; I was horribly dizzy and had ringing in my ears. They sent me home with the dorvaset, and I'm supposed to see a Dr. in a week if it isn't better for X-Rays. Stupid, stupid people, overwatering their lawn so...
Well, yesterday I got my mom to work out with me, and it was good. She's awfully out of shape from what I remember of her working out before. But she made it through 2/3 of the workout with me, and we're doing it again next week.
Luckily, my head/neck isn't AS sore today. I slept for almost 5 hours straight before waking up to it, lol. Guess it's time for a dorvaset.

Welcome Love&Laugh, Tiffie & Martini.
Thanks everyone for the Birthday greetings, turning 41 was not as bad as 40 last year!!
We went out to eat on Friday at the Mexican restaurant. It was fun--they did make me wear the sombrero and took pictures on their camera phones.
Well, I did some housework and ate breakfast. I am going to do another load of clothes and head to the gym and some other errands.
12-17-2006, 10:33 AM
Hi Jules!
Glad you had a good Bday. I had that happen to me twice @ mexican restaurants. lol. The last time the sombrero was very heavy and it weighed my head down! lol. DH wouldn't let me take it off of course. :p
Enjoy your laundry. I need to do some too, tomorrow. Right now I am off to get some much needed Zzzzzzzzz's. :tired:
12-17-2006, 01:43 PM
Jules - please forgive me for missing your birthday! I truly don't know how that happened, but surely you know I wish you only the best! HAHA, I'd love to see the photos of you in the sombrero!
To everyone else, especially the new Jaded Ladies, hope you're having a good day! Neal and I are out the door in just a few minutes, but I wanted to pop in and say hi.
Have a good one!
12-17-2006, 01:44 PM

12-17-2006, 08:12 PM
Wow, today hasn't been much fun. My SO's mom made a VERY fattening breakfast: bacon, scrambled eggs, white bread toast... I made oatmeal. Then we went to church, after which I broke down and bought a sandwich from Subway (low fat, though, no mayo, 6 in subway club). Then I came home and proceeded to fall asleep. I haven't done my workout today, and SO's mom has been in front of the TV ALL DAY LONG, so I don't know if I'll be able to pop the DVD in. :( Right now, I'm not feeling good about myself at all. I know what I'm doing (eating right and exercising) is going to save me from a higher risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and early death. But it's SO HARD not to eat badly when it's shoved under my nose.
12-18-2006, 01:15 AM
I know what you mean, Tiffie. My family's Italian/from the east coast...:( So there's always lots of yummy pasta at my house! It's tough not to get a full plate AND stop myself from going back for seconds...because in my house you EAT, and you eat well. :p
Congratulations on the healthy choices! You'll thank yourself later.
Well, I ate pretty well today, but didn't exercise. That's my big goal, I need to exercise more!
12-18-2006, 02:26 AM
Hello all. Buurrrrrr!! It is 27 degrees outside and cold for us here in california. Especially without the joy of snow. bummer no snow. who know maybe we might see a glimps of snow fall. doubtful because everytime it rains it warms up. If my husband would move I would go where the snow is in a flash as long as its not too much snow. LOL
12-18-2006, 10:09 AM
Good morning, ladies,
Mary Kate - I think the contestants on The Biggest Loser lose too fast, too, and we've always been told that isn't healthy, and is hard on your whole body, and doesn't give us a chance to change our eating habits. But it seems lots of peolpe get really excited about a quick fix, and that's certainly good for ratings. I don't watch the show, but have seen parts of it while channel surfing, and I can see where the excitement comes from. So sorry about the denial from your insurance. Hopefully, they'll change their minds after the new report.
Marti - I know what you mean. I've spent so much time and effort on the dinner for my friends, that I have let some Christmas prep slide. I'll be baking tomorrow and Wednesday and am lucky that my DDs and Gina bring dishes to help out. Do you go to your Grandpa's for Christmas dinner?
Sassy - hope you're enjoying your "weekend" off. Yes, I had heard that Peter Doyle died. That's too sad, and I have only 2 words to say about that: Holy Crap!
Michelle - I hope you're feeling better today. Did you get the cookies and potatoes made?
Lovelaughalways - I'm waiting for snow, too, and am going to make a snow angel with the grandkids as soon as we get any. I can't wait!! We live in the country, and can go sledding, too. Well, the younger ones do that, not me.
Martini - mmmmm Italian food! One of my many weaknesses, lol. I'm also drawn to Italian men, but we won't go there, haha. Btw, I think most of us here could say we should exercise more.
Tiffie - good for you, staying OP! Maybe your bf could ask his mom to lighten up a bit with the fattening foods. It isn't good for her, either. Or maybe you and he can get your own place and then you can call the shots. I know it's hard to be around foods like that. My MIL used to send over the worst foods - desserts and such - when she knew I was trying so hard to lose weight. Not being a compulsive overeater like me, she didn't understand the torment she caused. Anyway, good for you, eating healthily.
Alicia - just jump on in... as you can tell, we're a friendly group, and welcome you with open arms.
Sue - you should've stayed in Indiana, at least for a few more days. It was 67 here yesterday, but Neal says the cold weather will be moving in by Christams Eve.
Cristi - again, I want to say I'm thinking of you.
Hello to everyone else reading this.
Ah, so much to do, with so few left to do it, lol. I got side-tracked from my Christmas preparations when I spent so much time on my dinner party, but I don't mind. As I mentioned to Marti, I'm very lucky that Mary, Katie and Gina help out the way they do. Neal and Katie always help the DGDs decorate the sugar cookies. This year, all 5 of them are old enough to help.
I'm planning on staying home today and getting a lot done, until I have to leave for a meeting later this evening.
What are YOUR plans for the day?
12-18-2006, 10:59 AM
Yesterday was a rest day from working out, so today I'm planning for cardio. It's so hard to eat healthily with everyone around me just NOT GETTING IT! I told my MiL to-be the REASONS why I'm doing this (to prevent higher risk of diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, etc), and she replies with a "whatever works for you." ARG.
I think I'm going to go have some salad. I've taken to watering down a good caesar dressing, and it tastes great. Will be trying to keep my calories to about 1400 again todaY (was a little low yesterday). Also, trying to get in contact with an old friend/ex whom I haven't spoken to in over a year. I hope he's doing alright.
Good news: My own mom is being highly supportive of my diet and exercise plan. She's even going to work out with me on weekends. :) If only I saw her half as much as I see my fiance's family...
btw, Diane (MiL) is an avid smoker who says things like, "it's as hard to quit smoking as heroin" in order to enable herself to keep smoking. :( She's bad at doiing anything for her health. It makes my fiance and me worry.

Too many posts to try and play catch up.
:welcome: to all the newbies!
Nothing much going on but wanted to pop in and say HI!
Is everyone ready for Christmas? I'm not, lol! Just wanting it to be over already, sort of. Wasn't really in the Christmas spirit this year. THANK YOU ROBIN & MINDEE for the cards. :thanks: :hohoho:
I hadn't been to It Figures in three weeks now and I decided this morning I need to get my arse back in there and stop at the post office on the way first (thank goodness-they were horrible and even worse when I finally got out of there) so when I got to where I turn to go to It Figures Charlotte was going to her car to leave. What? This was at 10:30 and she is usually open until noon at which time she closes and comes back at 3:00. Kind of pissed me off because this is a business and she doesn't run as such. She went in with another lady and that woman has nothing to do with it now because she needs the money and has to work another job. So when Charlotte has errands to run she tries to get someone to fill in for her or she closes whenever. Ummm, okay...I didn't know this was how she ran the place until I joined because I usually just went in at a certain time to tan. Anyway...so much for that. I am just going to get a work out at home today I guess. I've got lots to do around here. Well...
HAPPY MONDAY LADIES! Hope everyone has a WONDERFUL day!

Well, I'm having trouble making myself work out today... Could really use some encouragement. *pokes SO* I ate breakfast (a banana and a salad... I know i know, weird), but now I can't find a thing for lunch! Theres another banana and salad, but I don't want the same. And it seems I've had bologna sandwiches every day I've been over here! Won't eat a grilled cheese. There's no soup left. There's bread, and brown rice, and splenda, and a banana, and a bag of salad... arg. I also have some carrots in the fridge. Not really enough to make an actual meal with. :dizzy:

Tiffie- I fhave found lean cuisines a life saver when there is nothing else to grab for in the fridge as long as you don't make a habit out of it; it is satisfying and fast.

Again, not much going on. Have a busy day ahead with cleaning and such around the house and that's about it. Not going to attempt going to IF until after the holidays.
Thank you Jane for the card.
HI to everyone! :hohoho:
Have a good day!

Thanks for the encouragement. I was bad last night and totally broke down. Had fried chicken and mashed potatoes with gravy, and didin't do my workout at all. :( I feel so disappointed with myself, and SICK! Blegh. If I'd known I'd feel like this, I might have just stuck to the taters. Today, I don't feel well. I wish I had eaten better last night, and then I'd feel better today. :T Well, lesson learned.

Cristi - you're welcome. Seems like there's too much to do, and time's running out, lol. Well, actually, all I have left to do is some baking. I never did get that done. So tomorrow's the day, since I don't babysit, and don't have anything else major planned.
Tiffie - brown rice and veggies makes a nice meal, if you add a little protein. Even an egg would round out the meal. As lovelaughalways said, the frozen diet dinners are ok in a pinch. They're loaded in additives and sodium, and stuff I can't pronounce, but that would be much better than potatoes with gravy, etc. I see where Kashi is making some "healthy" frozen dinners, and I plan to research them soon to see how accurate the claim is. One thing that may help you quite a bit is to plan ahead for each meal and snack. Do this in the evening for the next day, if possible. It's much easier to stick to a plan if you actually have one in place.
Hello to everyone else reading this.
I had lunch out with friends today, and now Neal and I are babysitting Mary's rugrats. They are so sweet! And very excited about Santa, lol.
Mt. Washmore is for sure on my list of things to do tomorrow, and so is the baking!
Toodles, chickas! :)

Just a quickie here. Wanted to pop in and say "Hi" to everybody! I hope your all ready for the holidays because I surely am not! We don't even have our little tree up yet! Just haven't made it over to the storage unit and now its getting so late, we're debating about just skipping putting it up. But I told DH its up to him, yes its the little tree, but he is "Mr. Christmas" so if he wants it, then I figure we can go and get it, but he is thinking on it.
I need some motivation to finish up cleaning the bathroom and organizing my linen closet. I do have most of the laundry done! :carrot: I just need to get motivated to finish.........
Well back to work, ttyl and Have a Happy Holiday, everybody!

Thanks, Jane. There was just literally nothing in the house. :( My fiance and I don't really know where we'll be one day to the next (During the Holidays), so I didn't realise I wouldn't be home last night. But I wish I had made something with the brown rice!! I'd certainly feel better now!
I bet the rugrats are too cute! I love little kids. Can't they just stay that way forever? lol
Sassy: I hadn't had a tree since I was 18, but I got one this year, and it cheered me up a bit. However, it IS getting late to set one up. Good luck finding time, in case you still have holiday shopping and baking to do!

Good evening ladies...I have been here and even tried to post last night, but my computer is so rotten. Grrr... This is my old Win98 one. I told DH I wanted to put a new one on my gift list...hahaha..a little too late.
Nothing crazy happening here right now...we have been going out to eat and gambling a little. Two days I won a little and one day I lost a little. No big jackpot to boast of.
Today I made two different fudges for DH..so he is now very happy. LOL. I thought about making another batch and sending to the boys..they would love it. Went to the grocery store and as always I am so appalled at the prices of food out here. Geeze Louise. Don't know how anyone raises a family here. Luckily we don't cook much here...lol.
Glad to hear of everyone's preparations for the holiday. We are not doing much, had ours with DD and family in IN so that was most. We are already planning a big deal for next year...right here in LV with all of the kids coming. I hope it works out. DS will be finished with school in Dec. next year if he doesn't take off any more and we can have a party for his graduation. Would be fun!
Hi to everyone old and new....I will catch up with individuals soon.

This is going to be one of those flybys! It will be that way until after the Holiday. Once that day has come and gone, I will be able to relax a bit. Or least that is a goal of mine!
Hope all are doing well and keeping themselves stress free. I have been doing the best that I can. Still walking up a storm and eating MUCH better than I have in such a long time. So nice to have a hubby who wants to get healthy too. Although....tonight was out "indulgence" night. We had spaghetti....with garlic bread. Very good.
Speaking of still walking.....that is where I'm off to. I need to get my walk in before bed. So you all have a good night and I will chat w/you all next time!

Even w/the busy holiday schedules we're still managing to talk up a storm!!
