Ok let me be the first to report my BN (Butt-Naked) weight for the start of the challenge: 158.

The challenge is on!

Joni135
12-02-2006, 09:44 AM
Martha - we are neck and neck; my home scale this AM said 157.5!! (home scale is always much nicer than COD; I actually stepped on an off 3 times to make sure the reading was correct.)

The challenge is on! Your challengers include: Sznn, MBFarley, Kimphin, Meagain716, Cevert, Bizlawchik, 2bfit, Lottame, MTDebster, Winkie03, Repo Girl, PrazTeam?, Juliemarie, MamaNicole, bajachick3, Barb315

....you can post here or PM - either way. See Losers and Friends December 2006 Thread for rules!

Nekkid weight this morning... 201.8.

I take it we are using home scale weights instead of COD?

Joni135
12-02-2006, 11:00 AM
I'm doing it based on home scale; for anyone that doesn't have a home scale they will give me their COD scale weight. Everyone just needs to stay consistent; if you start out giving me your COD scale weight, that's what you need to use at the end of the contest.

Kimphin
12-02-2006, 11:05 AM
I can see Joni and Cassi now... carrying their home scales into the COD to use the lower weight!

Joni135

Very funny Kim, but not a bad idea!
Okay, I keep mis-reading the title of this thread as "Joni's Challenged" vs. "Joni's Challenge".

Please ladies ensure that I don't read about any of you carrying your home scales into COD and trying to weigh in naked.. it may be illegal in some parts of the country !

Candice - congrats - you're in Onederland!! I got you in on the Challenge with a 199.6 starting weight.

The challenge officially ends on Saturday, Dec 16 and all weights need to be sent to me by noon that day so I can mail the prize out that day so it arrives before Christmas! (if you can't email me on Saturday, then send your final weigh in on Friday, Dec 15).

I was thrilled to have a good weekend (not too many weekends I can brag about being POP); I know this challenge helped pull me through.

Meagan - your in starting at 213! Good luck and stay strong!
Candace - I agree; I got on my treadmill even after doing all my chores since I didn't feel like I really got a cardio workout in. This challenge will really help me out!!

12-06-2006, 07:59 PM
Thanks Kim...well, I'm sitting here eating my 3rd salad of the day with some turkey and lite dressing; visions of Sugarplums (whatever they are) sound really good right about now.

Y'all better be trying really hard! I'll be disappointed if your not :-)

Joni135
12-09-2006, 01:25 AM
Okay - one week down and one more to go! Seems like so many folks had a great week at the scales, which is pretty darn amazing considering the time of year. This is going to be a close and fiercely competitive finish; portions will be weighed, water will be drank, menus will be planned, some may even take extreme measures and do Take Off at the bitter end to really move the scale at the final weigh in - and in the end - the winner will be ..
(to be continued)

Mama Nicole
12-09-2006, 09:21 AM
i have to WI at COD today, which will be a nice reality check, cuz girls, my HSNWI was down 3.2 pounds this week. I don't think that could be right........especially cuz I am extpecting TOM any day. Anyway, I am just going to roll with it, and keep my fingers crossed that the loss sticks :) I'm feeling pretty hopeful right now!!!!

I'm not doing too well. Even since I started LAWL I always lose my most weight on the weekend instead I gained 2oz this weekend :( I ate every on plan I don't know what is going on. I think my weightloss it just starting to slowdown ALOT since I have already lost 40#'s with makes me sad because I am only just a few pounds under 1/2 way there and I think my goal wight should be reached by May of 2007 so I need to lose steady.

Kimphin
12-11-2006, 07:03 PM
Don't stress too much Candice. 2 oz could be anything - and your body might release it tomorrow (hoping for you). You done an amazing job so far!

Mama Nicole
12-11-2006, 11:08 PM
Kim is right, Candice. You just have to sit tight, and it will change again. I had really no huge losses from Thanksgiving until present, and then at WI on saturday, I dropped 3.8 pounds in 1 week. I was dumbfounded. Hold tight, and don't let this get you discouraged. I, too, thought I was at a major slow down.......managed to stay OP (for the most part), and it turned itself around. Losing can get addictive.......you get a little "high" when your scale is happy. It sucks when you don't get that feeling in regular doses. Hang tight.......it will come again!!! :)

Joni135
12-12-2006, 12:14 PM
Suffice it to say, I'm doing Take Off today and tomorrow. My mimosafest on Sunday and recovery day (Monday) created a very unkind scale this morning. Oh well, I had fun, but it really stinks that you can backslide soooooooooo quickly. No worries about me being the champ, but I'm still in this challenge, and have a few days to undo my weekend damage!

Kimphin
12-12-2006, 12:25 PM
No kidding, Joni. How unfair that it takes forever to lose 5 lbs, but I can gain it in 2.5 minutes!!!!

Welcome to TO, Joni, I know that Cassi is with is too.

Mama Nicole
12-12-2006, 12:26 PM
Joni...my yesterday sucked too, so you may still be the winner if it's me and you in the end........LMAO!!! I ate 4 pieces of pizza, and 2 chicken fajitas. I don't really know why. Oh, I think it is because of TOM, but I try really hard not to use that as an excuse for bad behavior.......ie: being a big huge b**** to my family, eating like a pig, lazing around the house. Haven't done so well with my plan this time around.....but I am working on it. I am POP so far today, and the good news is.......I didn't completely defeat myself after overeating. I could have eaten home made carmel and toffee......but I resisited. Good luck with your TO. I know I will end up doing a TO on friday and sat, or maybe tomorrow and fri...........just to see if I can pull off a win. I didn't want to do that.........I was hoping to kick a** without a TO, but I am weak sometimes. We'll see if I can muster up the strength for a TO. Best of luck to you with yourd. I just hate them..........but they do have their merits.

Kimphin
12-13-2006, 11:43 AM
Well, I gotta keep up!

Joni135
12-13-2006, 05:24 PM
TO continues, although I have to say, I haven't been perfect (I'm mixing up my proteins - not eating all the same; had a few pistachios while making some gift jars of panko pistachio coating....argh....

Take off was definitely easier with my yummy LA Lites....this is truly tortune right now. But it did help shed some of that excess mimosa weight....let's just see if it sticks until Saturday morning.

So, I'll start with my reminders now. I need to have everyone's final WI for this little challenge by 12 noon eastern time so I can quickly run the prize to the post office. If you can't email me on Saturday morning, then give my your BNWI weight on Friday morniing. Any questions, just write them here and I'll be checking back in....

Joni135
12-15-2006, 07:13 AM

The winner will be announced late afternoon and I'll have to mail the prize on Monday morning from the post office. As of today, My home scale has me down 5 lbs from the start of the challenge, but someone is beating me, which is awesome! Thanks to everyone for participating; this kept me so on track!! Hope everyone has a great weekend! We are decorating tons of cookies tomorrow at my MIL's house, so wish me luck!

Mama Nicole

darn those cookies!!! I made peppermint bark last night........and I am Toing..........and I could barely stand it. I finally tasted the smallest piece I could, it was like 1/4 in by 1/4 in. OMG........delicious!!! My kids kept raving about it, and I saw my 11 yo DD sneak two pieces out to the bus this morning....one for her and one for her best friend. :) Anyway......I will be strong......and Candice.......you will be too. It's soo much work to lose, it's just not worth it. And, you know, Dr. Oz says, it's not the first piece of cake that makes you fat...........

That really is true. I don't think it's a permission slip to go off plan........I just think it means, if you have a piece of cake, or a cookie, or whatever it may be that is off plan.........don't fret.......just get right back with it.......right now. Good luck ladies......and I cannot wait to hear of everyone's successes on this challenge. I love that it was only 2 weeks. No time to screw up too bad. Joni is quite the smarty McSmarterson!!! :)

Joni135
12-15-2006, 11:01 PM
Nicole - "chalk one up" for you -- only having a smidge of that peppermint bark. I'm soooooo proud! :carrot: but, now...STEP AWAY FROM THE PEPPERMINT BARK!!

Joni is quite the smarty McSmarterson!!!
I had to go google that since I've never heard that expression before; not too many things I've done in life that have been referred to as "smart." LOL.

Mama Nicole
12-16-2006, 01:41 AM
Joni...........I thought I made it up......LOL LOL LOL.....did you come up with anything on google???????? LOL! I am very excited to do my BNWI tomorrow morning :) I have been very good :)

Joni135
12-16-2006, 09:03 AM
Holy crapoly - my at home, BNWI was 151.5. Down 6 lbs from 2 weeks ago (3.8%); I'm in shock; the only real difference for me was going on the all food program and having a competitive spirit and not wanting to disappoint my fellow challengers......and just for the thrill of seeing my ticker move, I'll change my profile!!

Regardless of how I did - the prize will be mailed out....so send in those numbers. Quite a few of the entrants have not been posting lately...so not sure who is still in the game.

Deadline for sending BNWIs (either via PM or on this site) is noon today (Saturday, Dec 16).

12-16-2006, 09:32 AM
BNWI this morning is 197.6. Not the winner, but still not too shabby. Thanks, Joni for the :kickbutt:

Mama Nicole
12-16-2006, 09:39 AM
Holy crapoly........Joni, that is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO!!! Your ticker is looking pretty fab!!! I'm very happy for you.

My BNWI is............194.........which is a 3% loss. I told DH just a few minutes ago........."honey.....I lost 6 pounds in our little fat camp challenge......but I don't think I am going to win." He said, "wow..........that is a lot......and that is great.........and no matter what, don't you still win?"
Gotta love him :)

I can't wait to see how everyone else did. Thanks again, Joni.........I SOOOOOO needed this. If (and I highly doubt this) it comes down to me and you......don't you DARE mail that ornament to me. You totally worked it........and earned it. Especially switching to the all food program.....this took a lot of focus for you. And, you are so close to your goal....it makes each pound you lost a bit more stubborn than the ones I lost.

WHOOOHOOOOO to everyone who entered and worked extra hard over the last two weeks. It is the most wonderful time of the year...........and the most difficult for dieting :)

I mentiond a New Years challenge, but Joni pointed out in Friends thread that some are doing the Biggest Loser challenge. WOO HOO! Evette, have you had a lot of parties to go to this season? If so, what are your strategies for staying POP?

winkie03
12-19-2006, 11:46 AM
You know, I haven't had a lot of parties to go to this season, we have one today at work at it's being catered by Pat and Oscars. I know for today, i'll be eating my lean pocket a little before the party and just have a salad.

The past few weeks I've had a lot to deal with. My aunt passed away on December 2nd and we buried her on the 10th. My father-in-laws year anniversary was this past Sunday, so we were at my mother-in-laws house for prayer and dinner. I don't know if this happens in every culture, but for filipinos, immediately after the funeral, there is a party with tons of food! I've been so lucky not to cave in to eating everything that's on the buffet tables, but I usually just eat what I know will be on plan. Not eating anything fried, staying with vegetables, and if I have an occasional lumpia (egg roll) I know i'll be okay.

bizlawchik
12-19-2006, 11:52 AM
Wow, sorry things have been so rough.

I'm Irish and we have a great big party after a funeral. Lots of food and alcohol. We celebrate and reminisce with stories and memories of the person that passed.

MMMmmmm.... egg rolls.

I like the idea of having your lunch and then just having a salad. That's a great way to solve the luncheon problem when they bring stuff in. Thanks for that tip. So simple, but it never occurred to me.

Boo'sMom
12-19-2006, 12:31 PM
MMMmmm eggrolls. Even though they push the calories boundaries the Lean Cuisine Eggroll dinner is pretty good (to me anyway).

The month of December has been really tough on my family. Why is it that deaths happen so close to the holidays? Oh, did I mention that my uncle also passed away on the 9th of December? All three of my loved ones had diabetes. My aunt was "old school" she was the type of person that only went to the doctor if there was something wrong with here. Never got her annual check up and when she passed away, we found out that she was diabetic. Her blood sugar was way over 800! OMG!

So, with all of these deaths...I've learned to take better care of myself, eat healthy, never take anyone for granted and to live each and every day to it's fullest.

By the way...the foods included: lumpia, pansit (rice noodles with mixed vegetables with chicken and pork), adobo, all those filipino deserts....turon (banana fritters) all soooo yummy, but all so fattening!!

Kimphin
12-19-2006, 12:50 PM
Wow Evette - you've been going through all of that? I am so sorry.

I'm Irish and we have a great big party after a funeral. Lots of food and alcohol. We celebrate and reminisce with stories and memories of the person that passed.

I am Irish too, and when DH went to his first family funeral with me he said he felt so guilty laughing at all of the stories. He didn't really get that that was the point. Now he's used to an Irish wake.

When DH's grandfather died we went back to his (DH's) uncles in New York after the funeral. He's Jewish. They sit shiva. NOT the same thing. However I told MIL since I'm Irish, we celebrate with alcohol. She hit the wine with me. I think she liked my way better.
