Exercise! - Exercise Accountability -- DecemberView Full Version : Exercise Accountability -- December Ilene 12-01-2006, 12:19 PM :hohoho: WOW time flies December already and countdown to Christmas :present: alwaysbelieve 12-01-2006, 10:57 PM Pilates, and weights for arms. mandalinn82 12-01-2006, 11:46 PM 60 min elliptical. Welcome to December, ladies! alwaysbelieve 12-02-2006, 01:51 PM This year seem to have passed so quickly. Cardio, pilates for toning, and weights exercises for arms. mandalinn82 12-02-2006, 08:27 PM 60 min elliptical 60 min UB/abs LisaMarie71 12-03-2006, 05:45 PM 12/1: nothing 12/2: nothing 12/3: 40 min strength training (upper body/abs) It felt so good to actually do something today, but I seriously miss my cardio. Stupid sprained knee. :( alwaysbelieve 12-03-2006, 06:36 PM LisaMarie71 Hope your knee is better soon. Today exercise was pilates cardio workout for 50 minutes, followed by pilates toning of thighs and buns. Followed by weights for both my legs and arms for 25 minutes. alwaysbelieve 12-04-2006, 05:54 PM Cardio, and weights for arms. sweetbrownie 12-04-2006, 08:05 PM *36 1/2 min elliptical* *25 min treadmill* I worked so hard today. I'm happy with myself! Ilene 12-04-2006, 10:27 PM 5k on the :tread: rabidrat 12-04-2006, 10:33 PM 12/1 - 20 min bicycle 12/2 - nothing 12/3 - 20 min bicycle 12/4 - 55 min bicyle 20 min cardio mandalinn82 12-05-2006, 01:58 AM 60 min high intensity elliptical Grumbleworts 12-05-2006, 06:41 AM 26 min of spinning 22 min on elliptical 5 min treadmill (warm up) LisaMarie71 12-05-2006, 07:04 PM 30 min recumbent bicycle Yay! I got to do something resembling cardio today! My knee is feeling much better this week -- it must not have been much of a sprain after all -- but it did hurt a bit after the bike, so I was afraid to do my usual elliptical or treadmill. I guess I should ease back into it. It just sucks to work out but not break a sweat...feels kind of useless. mandalinn82 12-06-2006, 01:15 AM LisaMarie - ANYTHING you do is more than nothing! But take it easy on yourself - you don't want to reinjure or strain the already existing injury, because if you do, it'll take you even LONGER to heal and you won't be doing your cardio for an even LONGER amount of time. I always get tempted to push myself to exercise before I am ready - but I'd implore you to get cleared by your doctor first, or you risk having this relatively short hiatus for a sprain turn into a much longer one, or worse, a permanent problem. 50 min - hardest LB/abs workout I've ever done. I went in and told my trainer "I want you to work me hard today" and boy, he didn't disappoint. My legs were like jello after, and tomorrow will be ****, but it felt strangely good. Word to the wise, though...if you are having inner-ear related dizziness issues, squats and lunges will make them a LOT worse. 50 min mixed cardio (15 min elliptical until I felt like my legs were going to collapse because of the leg workout beforehand, 15 min on the recumbent bike, and back to the elliptical for the last 20 minutes once my legs had had a minor rest while recumbent biking). rabidrat 12-06-2006, 10:40 AM 12/5 30 min bicycle 20 min Gazelle 30 min weights 30 min other (spastic attempts at aerobics) Mami 12-06-2006, 10:57 AM Good for you ladies! Tues 12/5: cardio: burned 350 calories (according to the machines, which I realize are not accurate) weights: 2 ab exercises, 2 back, 2 legs, 1 shoulder LisaMarie71 12-06-2006, 07:14 PM Back to full workouts today -- my knee is so much better. I don't think it was really a sprain after all, or at least it was a very mild one. 40 min elliptical 20 min treadmill walk Grumbleworts 12-06-2006, 07:28 PM 28 min of spinning Didn't get to the elliptical cause people were on it, and then didn't get to it cause I have a TON of papers to grade tonight! It's funny how you actually crave it. Ilene 12-14-2006, 08:59 PM I agree LisaMarie being away from the gym or workouts makes me crave it and I feel achy all over when I don't exercise... Soooo today I got out and ran almost 6k... It was absolutely gorgeous here today so I took advantage of it and went out... rabidrat 12-15-2006, 03:12 AM 12/1130 min bike, 15 min weight 12/12/ nothing 12/13- 30 min biking, 10 min weights 12/14 nothing Oh man, I need to get back on track. I was out about 50 minutes and for the first time in my life (even in elementary/middle school PE - I had knee problems and was in horrible shape) I ran a full mile without stopping. I know its just a mile. But it was one item to check off my life list. Ilene 12-18-2006, 07:11 PM Mandallinn -- No such thing as JUST a mile!! That's awesome progress!! Today ran 5k it was cold and sunny out, I loved every minute of it... mandalinn82 12-18-2006, 08:17 PM Realized last post made it seem like the mile took me 50 min - the mile itself only took 12 minutes and wasn't all that hard! Then I walk/jogged on and off for the rest of the time. I am going to try not to belittle it. I had never run a mile without stopping before - now I have. Go me! Ilene 12-18-2006, 08:38 PM  Mandalinn I knew exactly what you meant... mandalinn82 12-19-2006, 12:08 AM 55 min on the elliptical. mandalinn82 12-19-2006, 06:56 PM 55 min on the stairclimber. I am trying a couple new things to mix it up - varying the type of cardio I'm doing and focusing more on intervals. LisaMarie71 12-19-2006, 07:11 PM 40 min elliptical 20 min treadmill walk LisaMarie71 12-20-2006, 09:54 PM 30 min jog outside That's cool that you're changing things up, mandalinn. I'm kind of being forced to change because our gym membership ran out and we're not renewing until the new year since we'll be out of town all next week. I plan to run every day that I can, and then use my sister's gym when I'm visiting my family. I think it'll be good for my body to take a break from the elliptical and focus on the running for a bit. I'm getting into it! I love the elliptical, but it just seems like there's nothing like running for cardio. mandalinn82 12-21-2006, 01:43 AM 60 min elliptical LisaMarie71 12-21-2006, 09:23 PM 50 min step aerobics video (an old but good one -- I felt like it was the early 90s again) mandalinn82 12-22-2006, 01:42 AM 60 on the good ol' elliptical LisaMarie71 12-22-2006, 06:27 PM 45 min step video (a different one -- I have to be creative and do different things until my gym membership is renewed and today it was raining outside!) mandalinn82 12-22-2006, 06:46 PM 55 min on the stairclimber. Hopefully, if work schedule works out, will do arms tonight, but didn't want to risk not getting that cardio in! LisaMarie71 12-23-2006, 02:55 PM 30 min jog outside -- the weather is so freakishly beautiful! mandalinn82 12-23-2006, 02:56 PM 50 min elliptical 50 min UB/abs LisaMarie71 12-25-2006, 03:16 AM 40 min walk I'm kind of proud of myself for fitting this in before the Christmas Eve gathering even though I was dead tired from baking all day. Let's not talk about how many cookies I ate at the gathering, though . . . mandalinn82 12-27-2006, 03:24 PM Christmas Morning - 45 min run/walk (and I did another mile! Its becoming a tradition when I am at my parents house) Yesterday - nada. Damned 8 hour drive ate up the entire day. Today - 1 hr 15 min walk/jog - a bit slower than my usual pace, but I wasn't alone and was accomodating other people. Its ok, though, I took some jogging breaks and kept the HR up to an ok level. mandalinn82 12-28-2006, 02:38 PM 1.5 hour hill hike on this: http://www.localhikes.com/Hikes/RunyanCanyon_4472.asp It is my absolute FAVORITE hike in the LA area, so I try to do it once or twice each time I'm down here.
