My birthday is October 7th and what I wish I could be doing tonight is sitting down at the new sewing machine that I got for my birthday THAT I STILL HAVEN'T SEWN A SINGLE STITCH WITH! Instead I'm heading out the door to spend the evening with Aunt Hazel at the nursing home, but tonight should be the last time I have to do that. She is going home tomorrow! I'll spend the day tomorrow getting her settled in at home and hopefully Sunday I can take a "me" day and do some sewing!

11-03-2006, 08:40 PM
My birthday is April 27 and I would love to curl up with a good book right now. But I am still feeling crappy, so reading is just giving me a headache.

My birthday is March 17th--St. Patty's Day.
Vogue--you look wonderful!

11-04-2006, 06:57 PM
Vouge, you are one cute chick-a-dee! I can see a difference too in the pics. You and your sister sure look alot alike. Both of you are very pretty. I love the little lighted trellis, was that for the wedding or do you leave it up year around?

Gotta go! Will be back later!

11-04-2006, 07:35 PM
it was for the wedding but we decieded it was fun to have so we kept it up all year round now haha

11-05-2006, 08:39 AM
Vogue-You are beautiful.

My bro had the best birthday present anyone could possibly have this past Friday. His grandson was born on his birthday! This is after having 3 granddaughters.

11-05-2006, 09:32 AM
Congrats shelly.

11-05-2006, 12:16 PM
I was a bad girl last night! I ate chocolate morsels that were in the freezer. Probably half a cup's worth! Good thing I was able to run today. BTW, I am very lonely over there!!!!!!

11-05-2006, 08:50 PM
Vogue - It was so nice of you to post your pics. You are a pretty girl!!
Shelley - I will start posting on the exercise thread. I keep trying to get a schedule going for the gym but always end up being called for work.

11-05-2006, 09:01 PM
Vogue ~ You are a lovely young woman! Thanks for posting the pictures.

Shelley ~ Congratulations on the new addition to your family!

Tim's aunt came home on Saturday and is doing GREAT! She stayed last night by herself and said it seemed so good to have it quiet and not to have to worry about anyone else in the house. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the worst is over and that it's only going to keep getting better!

I've been doing better with my eating. I'm still not 100% OP, but I did check the scale this morning and I'm down 1 pound, so at least the scales are moving in the right direction again!

11-06-2006, 10:28 AM
Great job Suzy Q on the weight loss!!!! I hope aunt Hazel is able to stay at home this time. My mom keeps telling me it stinks getting old.

Allison, I keep forgetting to tell you that I admire your self control with dieting and wine intake. You are a very busy person at it would be very easy for you to use the excuse of no time, so I'll drive through a fast food place.

Shelley, congrats on the new little great nephew!!! Hmmmm......I wonder how Shelley will be as a grandmother one of these days???? If your like me, you are in no rush at all to have that title! LOL! Some of the people I went to school with are grandparents and it just blows my mind. I guess I don't realize how old I actually am! LOL!

Dee??? Oh, Dee???? Come out where ever you are oh Princess.

Janice, I'm with you on exercise, I have good intentions, but that is usually as far as it gets. Are you feeling better?

Deb, did you recover from the cold/flu? Hope your feeling better today. I bet the tricker treaters loved their special treat from you!

Vouge, I can't get over how much you and your sis look alike. What is the age difference?

Cheryl, where is our little Moderator? Are you doing ok????

Off to work I go! Will check in later!

11-06-2006, 04:06 PM
Allison, I keep forgetting to tell you that I admire your self control with dieting and wine intake. You are a very busy person at it would be very easy for you to use the excuse of no time, so I'll drive through a fast food place.

Gayle--what self control???? I've been drinking wine every day (at least 2 glasses per day) since the beginning of the month! Yeah, I did lose weight, but I really don't know how!! LOL. :dizzy: But you're right, I don't have time, but I live in a weird city--there are NO DRIVE THRU fast food places!!! Drive thru banks, yes, but not fast food. So fast food is slow because you have to go in and stand in line and wait and then take it back home. We still do fast food--weekend lunches mainly (Burger King for lunch Saturday--but I did do the non-breaded chicken sandwich).

I'm actually feeling a bit "fat" today. I went to my annual Mother/Daughter Tea for my charity group and ate more than I should have (3 tiny tea sandwiches plus 1 1/4 larger ones, and dessert was 5 (FIVE!!!!) different decadent morsels! I polished off the brownie and lemon bar and ate half of two of the others. The fifth was nothing special so I didn't even taste it, but DD had several different choices on her plate, so I got tastes of those!!! Then I went home and made homemade turkey chili. I served it with raw veggies with dip and ate only a small bowl of chili. The scale was up 2.5 pounds this morning!!! I'm sure it is only temporary--I didn't drink nearly enough water yesterday.

11-06-2006, 04:26 PM
Gayle here I am. I have been snooping here but just not up to sitting long enough to post. For some reason my back has been really bad the last few days. You look awesome. You are so beautiful.

Suzy congratulations on getting things together and losing pounds. It is so hard when we are near goal to maintain or to lose a few pounds. I am glad to hear that Aunt Hazel is doing well.

Shelley congratulations on the new little one. How many neices and nephews do you have? Including the great ones.

Allison that is hard to believe a place without drive thru fast food. It is a good thing but I thought that was a thing of the past.
Don't worry about the nibbles you had. That is in the past. You did well just having a small bowl of turkey chili.

It is our anniversary wednesday. We are trying to decide what to do for dinner. I told Larry it is more romantic here that in a big fancy restaurant. So we might order from a nice restaurant and get it delivered. I can create some heat with all the candles that I will light. lol

11-06-2006, 05:19 PM
Shelly - Here I was peldging absitnance to anything chocolate and my mom buys ding dongs. Cant say i didnt have one, then i watch desprate housewives and suddenly feel the need for crunches!

Suzy- Thanks , Ive been told that before haha. Great job, 1 pound leads to many pounds! Vise versa when your eating badly!

Gayle- I am turning 16 , and my sister is 20 in that picture she is also almost 7 months preggers in that pic. I dont think I look like her yet I get told it all the time but I dont look that much like her. My smile is ******ed in that picture but I dont look like her in my opion . She is due on Jan.1 but she thinks she might be 2 weeks pregnant more than she knows so she could be due at chirstmas!!!!

Alli- No FAST FOODD!!!! I cant believe that , I mean I live in a developing Farm town but we still have everything but kfc and wendys! I wish I lived somewhere with no fast food! If you eat bad you can flush it out with water? Is this true? What do you mean you only gained 2.5 lbs cause of no water? I never drink anything but like 1 glass a day of anythign for some reason but if it helps me shed inches and pounds then I will drink that h20 till im more drunk then a fat man on chirstmas!

I like to think I am an amazing girl with a great personality and heart kinder than snow white , but one of my motives for losing weight is for guys to see me , then see that part of me. Its no enough having that personality , I kinda feel I need to be sexy too.

Dee- feels like long time no see!!!!! Hello and thank you. You naughty girl, Im SURE you were refering to your heat being broken righhhttt??? happy aniveraery!

11-06-2006, 06:08 PM
Vogue--don't get me wrong, we HAVE fast food, just not drive thrus. Our city council voted against it years ago--they said it contributes to a litter problem. So we still have all the major fast food joints, but you have to walk in to order and get your food (or drive to a neighboring city to use their drive-thru).

one of my motives for losing weight is for guys to see me Hey--even us old married women want the guys checking us out!!! LOL

11-07-2006, 01:04 AM
How many years will this make Dee? 26?? I still remember your gorgeous card from last anniversaries party, loved the pic of the two of you walking down the road hand in hand. ooh la la.....candles, carry out and time alone...sounds romantic to me.

Vouge, water will make a huge difference in your weight loss plus it will make you feel better too. Do you fight breaking out on the face or pimples like alot of younger people do? If so, water will help with the breaking out and clear your skin up.

Allison, they say your body metabolizes wine differently and you will still have a weight loss even if you drink a glass or two a day. My problem is stopping at a glass or two...double hard when I work in a liquor store and want to try different brands/styles. I think I'm going to inject my turkey with wine this year. I had a friend give me some fresh rosemary from her garden, going to add it to the cavity of the bird along with onion, garlic etc.

11-07-2006, 02:53 PM
Guess what? Shawn and Maegan are going to have another baby! They first thought that the baby would be due around the middle of May, but the doctor said yesterday that he thinks that she may be farther along than that. He is going to wait until her next appointment and see and then maybe he will order an ultrasound to get a more accurate due date. Hopefully they will wait long enough to do the ultrasound so we can find out if it's a girl or a boy. We're all hoping for a boy for Shawn's sake...I can't imagine him living with four women! :dizzy:

11-07-2006, 03:40 PM
Yep, even us old ladies want to get checked out once in a while.
Keeps us on our toes!
Its weird but I feel better when I go to the gym or go to work, rather than sitting around the house. I get bored and then start feeling unwell.
I went to the gym for 3 hours yesterday. I do 1/2 hour of cardio on the treadmill, then work on the machines, then spend time in the pool and hot tub.

Last night...
I had a dream last night , I was running on a track at my school , and running never stopping , never losing breath just running ......wonder what it means, mabey I need to lace up the nikes....I was running effortlessly and random pepole teachers form school were running up to me and talking to me but I dont know what about , I cant remember that, i just remember runnning, my mom said she came to wake me up and I was running like my legs were going back and forth like I was running , just like a dog haha.

on a good note , I pulled an old belt out of the closet this morning to find that the belt that got to tight for the last notch that it now fits loosely thats right loosely on the SECOND notch. Im happy.

11-08-2006, 05:22 PM
WTG vogue--shows how much work you've done!!!

I'm feeling a little under the weather today. I think I've got an allergy or something. Sneezing and runny nose. Makes it hard to stay here at work. I hope it isn't something worse like a cold--I have way too much going on this weekend to deal with getting sick. My parents arrive for their 17 day stay on Sunday. What am I going to do with them for 17 days? Any suggestions? So far, the only plans are: Veterans parade Sunday, DD's concert Tuesday and then Thanksgiving.

11-08-2006, 05:40 PM
I generally have running dreams when I'm happy and not stressed out. I also dream that I'm flying (not in a plane :) ) and about kittens.

When I'm stressed I dream that I'm working again at the grocery store where I worked when I was in high school and college and that I can't get things to ring up right, can't count change, etc. I also dream (when I'm stressed) that I'm trying to dial a phone number and can't get all the numbers punched in right.

The subconscious is a weird thing.

11-08-2006, 06:41 PM
Happy Anniversary Dee and Larry!!!

11-09-2006, 10:34 AM
Thanksgiving is only 14 days away! Any plans?
I am preparing the turkey to take to MIL's along with a few other things. A friend gave me some fresh rosemary, so I am going to make a marinade of white wine and rosemary to inject my turkey with.

Allison, are you feeling better? How old are your parents? Will you be working while they are visiting?

Cheryl, you doing ok sweetie? Your posting but not as often as usual. How is school going?

11-09-2006, 01:11 PM
Hi Ladies.
I am just popping in for a minute. I slept in this morning so I haven't been to the Y. I will go for a swim shortly.
Larry and I had a wonderful night.
We booked three night stay at a cottage up at the lake. We are going to leave tomorrow so I have some packing to do.
Enjoy your weekend.

11-09-2006, 02:54 PM
Gayle--I'm actually doing OK! I've just been really busy (as usual!). I'll try to do better. I do check in just about every day, though!

Dee--you'll probably enjoy your week-end more than I'll enjoy mine

It's just about time for Stewart to go on a hunting trip. I'm ready for him to be gone so I can *try* to get some serious cleaning done!!!!

11-09-2006, 03:09 PM
Gayle--I'm feeling better, but still "off". I got all stuffed up yesterday at work, but took a break to pick up DS from school and take him home. As soon as I left work, I got all unstuffed! Today I have a little stuffy/runny thing going on with a very, very slight sore throat which may be due to my using Zycam last night at bedtime (it really dries you up). I guess I'll just have to see if it develops into a full blown cold or not.

My parents are in their mid 80's. I will probably work most of the time that they are here--perhaps cut it down to half days or something. Dad's bday is the 16th, but I can't plan anything because that's the night of my last charity meeting of the year. The 14th, we'll be going out to dinner and then to a concert at the high school. DD plays with the symphonic band, marching band and jazz band at the school as well as two other community bands that will be performing that night. It's funny--she never leaves the stage! We might look into getting tickets to some shows here. Riverdance is playing at one theater and there are two local shows that might interest them--one call Viagra Falls (comedy, of course) and the other is the Palm Springs Follies which is like a combination Vegas showgirl show and a vaudeville show.

Thanksgiving plans: Mom and I will be making pies for about 30 people (I'm thinking 6 different types: pecan, chocolate walnut, apple, mincemeat, pumpkin and one more) and then we'll all travel up to Idyllwild (in the mountains about an hour from here) to be with Dad's brother's family. My sister and her husband will be flying in that same day. We always get together with Dad's brother's family at Thanksgiving and we always have a wonderful time. Champagne flows constantly (as well as wine!) and the food is always wonderful. No plans on sticking to any diet that day!!!

11-09-2006, 04:08 PM
Thanksgiving plans: MY BIRTHDAY!!!! I am going to ring in being 16 and closer to getting my lisence!!! We also always put up chirstmas decorations on thankgiving since we moved, our family is in chicago and we are in tampa so its become a tradition of our own. My sister keeps talking about some kind of pumpkin roll she wants to me , my mo of course teh usuall , btu we have a whole round cake from the wedding un cut or touched so I guess thats my birthday cake! i am having a small party with my friends on the 18th , for my birthday ,we prob will just goof around and watch broadway musicals, my favorite! I have 3 favorites 1. Chicago of course , 2. rocky horror picture show, 3. the producers. I cant wait.

alli- Does it sound like Im sticking to my diet that day? ^^^^ haha:-) I hope you get better. Thanks for the comment.

dee- I am hoping ot get enough $$$ for my birthday to join the Y , I just want to pay the membership 1 time fee then I can workout in the morning swim later in the day. 3 days at a cottage hu? sounds naughty.

Gayle- Thank you for reminding me its 14 days to my birthday! Now I have to annoy everyone i my house about it haha.

4myself- Thats funny, I have had some werid dreams lately. Some of them are graphic nightmares and I just wish I knew what they were about.

sorry editing , I just ahd a major rveelation on the runners thread I did workout 1 yesterday of week 1 and thought it was really hard and tiring, I want to keep at it. its like , if I give up and not push push push myself, I will never change who I am , I will become a quitter. I dont want to be that way, I want to be in shape for swimming next spring and be able to run 3-4 miles at once and if I dont push myself I will never ever get there. no one can decide to work for somethign but me and thats exactly what Ive ogtta go do.

That could be the meaning f my dream , I am runnign and runniing and I never quit and never stop , but I am also in shape for running , and I never run out of breath beacause I never stopped running.

I know what my dream meant now.

11-10-2006, 11:22 AM
Allison ~ Tell me about that chocolate walnut pie! I've never heard of that kind before. It's obviously not diet friendly, but it sounds SO good!

Vouge ~ I love the Rocky Horror Picture Show...sounds like a fun way to celebrate!

Cheryl ~ I'm glad to hear that all is well and that you have just been busy!

Dee ~ I hope you have a wonderful romantic weekend!

I'm cooking Thanksgiving dinner this year. It looks like there were will about 12 for dinner so that won't be too bad. Shawn, Maegan and the girls are going to her parent's house for dinner, so they will come here later for dessert.

Gayle was asking for a picture of Travis in the "Thinking of Travis" thread, so my new avatar is a picture of Travis that he sent to me earlier this week. He's obviously due for a shave, haircut and a shower, but that is my baby under all that desert dirt!

11-10-2006, 11:34 AM
alli- do the time warp!!!!!
OH my thanksgiving dinenr on your plate? I hope i never get voted to do thankgiving when I am older, or else I better find a way to hide the boston market bins!!! Seriously I burn toast . everytime, i can only make cereal ,even that i tend to sqrew up! I can make sandwhiches btu i dont eat those anymore so yeah.

11-10-2006, 01:24 PM
Suzy, Travis is such a hottie! This is coming from a woman old enough to be his mother! LOL! I bet he would be "thrilled" to know his mama is posting pics of him on the net! LOL!

11-10-2006, 02:59 PM
Suzy--Travis is a cutie!
As for chocolate walnut pie, it's just like pecan pie (of course, walnuts instead of pecans) and then you throw in a cup or so of semi-sweet chocolate chips. I'll post the recipe if you're interested. Just let me know.

11-10-2006, 03:38 PM
Oh my gosh Allison, that pie sounds wonderful! I would love the recipe, but please don't list the number of calories in it...that's something I don't want to know!

Gayle ~ You're right...Travis would be "thrilled" to know that I had his picture posted here! I'll just leave it up for the USMC birthday today (Happy birthday Marine Corps...OOORAH!) and Veteran's Day tomorrow and then I'll replace it with something for Thanksgiving. ;)

11-10-2006, 03:40 PM
As soon as I get home this afternoon I'll post the recipe. It always gets rave reviews! And I don't even want to think about the calories!!!

11-10-2006, 04:19 PM
That picture is great of Travis! He is one handsome guy! But if you have one of him grinning that grin, well then you would know he is hottie! He has the best grin! Of course, he would probably die to know I called him a hottie!!

Just got home from belly dance class and I am very tired. This was the longest week on record! I can't wait for Christmas break!!! Even Thanksgiving is only a few days, so not long enough to really recharge my batteries! Luckily, I am not cooking this year, so I can relax for the day. We are actually going to a restaurant this year.

11-10-2006, 10:22 PM
Since we are talking pies here, do you girls know anything about an oatmeal pie? My family will not eat pecan pie because of the nuts. I found a recipe using toasted oatmeal instead. Anyone ever try it?

11-10-2006, 10:45 PM
I've never had oatmeal pie, but I have a recipe for a really good peanut butter pie that is similar to pecan pie. I'll post the recipe if you would like to try it.

11-11-2006, 08:17 AM
Gayle-Can you post the oatmeal pie recipe? It sounds like it may be a healthy one??

11-11-2006, 10:26 AM
Haaaa-haaaa Shelley!!! SURE it's healthy!!! Wink, Wink!
It's made exactly like a rich ohhhhy-goooyyyy pecan pie other then using the toasted oatmeal. Not exactly diet friendly!

11-11-2006, 10:36 AM
woah suzy is that travis in your icon??? Man he is hot stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!Is he single by any chance!!!!! omg!

11-11-2006, 11:29 AM
Chocolate Walnut Pie

3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1/8 tsp salt
1/2 c sugar
1 1/4 c white corn syrup
2/3 c chopped walnuts
6 oz. chocolate chips (semisweet)
1 unbaked pie shell

whipped cream
walnut halves for decoration (optional)

Preheat oven to 350. Beat eggs slightly with fork. Add salt, vanilla, sugar, corn syrup, beating until well blended. Stir in chopped walnuts and chocolate chips. Pour mixture into unbaked pie shell and bake 45 minutes or until top is evenly puffed and starts to crack. Garnish with whipped cream and walnut halves before serving.

11-11-2006, 12:59 PM
Allison ~ Thank you for the recipe! That really does sound good...I may have to try that instead of pecan pie this year.

Gayle ~ Please post the oatmeal pie recipe...I bet it would be just as good as pecan pie and the oatmeal is good for your cholesterol! ;)

Vouge ~ That is Travis, but he's not single. He married his high school sweetheart when he got out of bootcamp two years ago. They have been together since 9th grade!

11-13-2006, 08:18 AM
Oh haha well he certinaly is a hottie. Im upset. My best friend has began a nasty drug habit and thats all she wants to do. Now I am going to fess up and say I have done drugs before but I have never been addicted and obsessed. yesterday I call her and say " Do you think you can stay sober for 2 days? I dont want any of that crap in my house I dont want you on it while your at my house .If you bring any of it to my house I will throw it away and If you go on it while at my house I will make my mom drive you home alone without me and probabbly never talk to you again so If yoou cant do that then dont even bother coming to my birthday party. " Now I have been friends with her best friends since i was 12 , Im now turning 16 . We used to be so close but now I dont even want her to come , I wish I could uninvite her from my party cause shes really got me pissed off. Her mom is a crack head and shes going to move back in with her , I think only cause she wants to do drugs and get away with it. If she doesnt stop soon I swear I am just going to stop all contact with her and let her kill herself , I dont even know why I care so much. and then on saterday she goes as far as to try to peer pressure me into doing triple c's and Im like NO I DONT WANT TO!! and shes like ok whatever , be lame, that right there is where I should have walked away from her and left her and called my mom. granted it would literally take an hour for my mom to come pick me up and I would have had to explain to her why I was at the beach on a sat. night at 10:00. I cant take much more. I dont have many friends in my new town , I hate it here, My best friend is pissing me off. I hate everything. I dont even know what to do with her but stop talking to her. On sat, she took so many pills I dont even know the names to them all!!! I need help ladies. I cant take her to rehab cause aI dont have money , a car, or shes not addicted to a certin drug yet.

11-13-2006, 10:25 AM
Vouge, I'm going to sound like a mother, but I really think you should drop all contact with her. When she realizes she is losing her dearest and longest friend to drugs, maybe it will be an eye opener. I probably wouldn't approach her mom, sounds like she has major problems of her own. I would suggest talking to your mother and with her help, contact the school the friend goes to. Counselers are available to help and she would never need to know you were involved. I know you think she isn't addicted, but if she is popping so many pills a day and this continues through out the day, every single day, then yes, she is addicted. The drugs are controlling her life and the drugs are allowing her to make bad choices. Again, being a mother here, how many times have you used? Did you use the other night on the beach with her? Did you know there are so many newer, dangerous drugs out there that one can INSTANTLY become addicted to? BTW: what is triple C's? You are a very smart young woman, don't allow yourself to get caught up in the problems of your friend or to fall under peer pressure. Enough of my lecture.

11-13-2006, 10:27 AM
HEY! I just looked! Travis turned into a turkey!!!! LOL!

Allison, the chocolate walnut pie sounds Heavenly!

Here is the "Healthy" ostmeal pie recipe I found off the net for anyone interested.

This great pie recipe goes back over 100 years. The recipe came from my grandmother's grandmother who was living in Charleston, South Carolina during the 1860's. Family history has it, that during the Civil War, since pecans were in short supply in the South, oatmeal was substituted for the traditional pecan pie and the results were astonishing. Now served at every family gathering since that time.

1 9" pie crust
4 eggs
1 cup sugar
2 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup light corn syrup
1/8-1/4 cup melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup quick-cooking oatmeal (uncooked)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Beat eggs until frothy.
Combine sugar, flour, cinnamon and salt in a small bowl.
Add eggs.
Mix well.
Add corn syrup, melted butter, and vanilla.
Mix oatmeal.
Pour into uncooked shell.
Bake for 45 minutes.

Vogue--my two nieces are heavily involved with drugs. The 17 year old has been arrested twice for possession and dropped out of school last spring and ran away from home. She returned a few months later because she was broke. Unfortunately her mother is an enabler (never been a rule enforcer) and this girl thinks her mom will get her out of jail. She won't. She's actually gone through the process of emancipating herself from her daughter so she won't be held liable for any legal problems the girl gets into. The other daughter isn't quite as bad, but she has her problems, too. If I were you, I'd stop all contact with this girl as she is nothing but trouble and you don't want to get into trouble. I thank my lucky stars that my DD has no desire to take any drugs (or even drink). She has friends that do, but she won't and she isn't afraid to tell you that she won't.
Good luck. And you know, if you feel that strongly about, go ahead and tell her not to come to your party. It's your party and you don't want her messing up a good time.

Gayle--that recipe sounds great! I may make that for my 6th pie this year!

Vouge ~ I agree with Gayle and Allison...I really don't think that it would be in your best interest to continue this friendship as long as this girl is involved with drugs. Gayle made a wonderful suggestion about contacting a counselor at the's a great place to start and they may be able to help if she will let them.

I also want to add that if you ever find yourself in a situation that you aren't comfortable in (like at the beach the other night) CALL YOUR MOTHER or someone to come pick you up! Trust me, your mother will be happy to come get you no matter what time it is or how long it would take for her to get there! You might get a talking to about how you got in the situation in the first place, but it's a whole lot better than getting caught up in a really bad situation!

I KNOW how unhappy you are right now in your new town and school. I lived my whole life in a big city in Ohio and then moved to a very small town in Pennsylvania to live with my grandparents when I was 18. For the longest time the only people I knew here were all over the age of 70! I was the most miserable person on the face of the earth, until I made up my mind to make the best of things (Attitude really is everything!). No place will ever be like your old town or school and no one will take the place of your old friends, but if you give it a chance you may find something just as good or even better where you are now. Hang in will get better!

Gayle ~ I think your "Heart Healthy" Oatmeal Pie is going to be on the menu this Thanksgiving...topped with vanilla ice cream! Mmmmm!

I did end up calling her again today and telling her , that I am not being mean beacause I am mad at her I am being mean beacause i am worried about her and no one else seems to acknoliedge that what your doing is hurting yourself. so after talking about things she told she is really sorry for pressuring me into doing things and that she wants to stop. I am hoping this si true and shes not just saying this cause I liev an hour away and dont know what the **** she is doing. I should break contact and I will if its gets any worse but sometimes we are blind to what we are doing and we need someone to slap us in the face and thats what I am trying to do before I leave her altogether.

Triple c's by the way can be anything from concedrine ( cold and flu medicine ) to ecstacy. I have only done the cold medicine and dont intend and will not do anything like that again. I was a stupid teenager and when i did it I couldnt talk , I got sick and threw up for 2 days and felt ridculous.

and If I do leave her , i really hope she does do her drugs in school and gets caught , so that she will be forced to get help. I am not going to rat her out. I dont want to deal with that feeling that I got my best friend arrested. But if she wants to sqrew herself over she is plenty old enough to be the adult she is acting like and mess her lifeup. all I can do for a while is not be the one to do it with her and tell her how much I care.

No I didnt do anything sat. night I felt odd and out of place for not doing it but I dont care right now. I am trying so hard to make friends here but pepole are that friendly. I have become so independent that I dont even care about friends that much. Like my mom said, How many pepole have you talked too after the last day of senior year? and she said not one person. so i dont care, I am going to graduate at the end of my senior year and get on with my life.

Everyone is like oh senior year is the best though btu I cant wait to get out of high school. I am not into the whole football games on friday and school spirit crap. I just want to get out of school and be done .

Personally, I think the best thing you could do for your friend is to "rat" her out. Tell your Mom and then both of you tell a counselor or someone at her current school. That is really a way of helping her. She needs help before she hurt (or kils) herself. She doesn't have to know it was you who did anything. I am sure your Mom would want to help.

As for school and friends, try something. tomorrow just smile at one person, in class before class starts. Who knows maybe you can make one friend and if not, you are just the same as before. Try it, make it an experiment and see what happens.

Vogue-I would tend to agree with Debi. Your friend really needs the help of a counselor. Since her mom is also addicted, it looks like the only way of helping her would be to go to your counselor at school and maybe they can call her in and talk to her. Good for you for being such a wonderful friend, and wise enough to not get sucked into doing what everyone else does.

Vogue - I had a feeling you wouldn't rat out your friend. That would be a very hard thing to do, and she probably would figure out that it was you, because you are the one that cares about her.
Just keep your head on straight and don't get caught up with that group.
There are always different groups, I think you need to make friends with kids that aren't into the drug scene. Peer pressure is very strong and you don't need that kind of pressure.
You are strong if you can't get through to her cut her loose. She is going to do what she wants to and the fact she wants to be with her drug addicted mom tells me exactly what it told you. She wants to do drugs without pressure.
Very sad situation, but you can't change her if she doesn't want to be changed.
Let her know you are there for her if she wants to get herself together, thats all you can do at this point.
We don't mean to lecture you but we all CARE ABOUT YOU!!!
