Wow! I had an amazing day. Tomorrow is my birthday, but I celebrated today with my mom and dad. It started this morning with a birthday cake.
I know what you are thinking... But, it was the greatest most perfect cake a person could give me. It was actually a series of cake slice shaped boxes that were wrapped together with a ribbon. My mom even went to a bakery to get a cake box. Inside each slice box was a gift. It was incredibly thoughtful and loving.
I had my usual breakfast, and then off we went to the mall to do some serious shopping. The mall is a 90 minute drive, so I don't get there often. I found some really, really cute clothes. I had a wonderful abstinent lunch.
Then, tonight we went to my favorite restaurant. It's French-- and again I had an amazing abstinent meal. Filet Mignon...mmmm yummy. It felt so great to order what I wanted, eat, and not feel so full that I was sick. Unlike my husband who had an appetizer, a salad, an entree, 2 glasses of wine, dessert, and coffee. He came home and had to throw up because he ate too much. I'm so glad that wasn't me. My tummy doesn't hurt. I'm not wishing that I had eaten less. I even have left overs for tomorrow!
I can't imagine a better birthday. I wouldn't trade 100 actual birthday cakes for the cute little clothes that I could buy today. I also bought a beautiful slinky red dress to wear to this year's office Christmas party. I'm happy to say that I look hot in it. When was the last time that I thought that???
I couldn't have planned a better day. The celebration continues tomorrow. I'll have the day to myself!! Yahoo!! and get to go to a noon OA meeting. Then, tomorrow night my husband's family is taking us out to dinner.
This day was full of blessings. I'm so thankful for my first birthday that wasn't about food.
