Where does the time go?!?!? :dizzy: Soon it's gonna be Christmas :fr: ... so let's make those pre-Christmas workouts mean something!!

60 min high intensity on the elliptical.

And I nearly died every time I lifted my arms.

I was working all day and didn't get home until 10pm, so I figured that would have to be my day off for the week. Ugh! It is really hard to not pay attention to the scale but I put it in the car to have handy for our ladies group weigh ins at the gym on wednesdays. I am happy to not be able to weigh myself everyday and get depressed. I asked my son if he saw a difference today as I was looking in the mirror and he said, "yes, I see it in your waist." I was so happy!!

Hiya all! I've been MIA since vacation in September. (Costa Rica was fabulous, but I've been totally derailed ever since, though I have luckily only gained a few pounds back.) I'm starting small but getting back in the habit of visiting 3FC - I always stay way more honest with myself when I frequent these forums. :)

Anyway, I just finished doing 25 minutes of brisk walking and climbing the stairs here at work.

I just read a great web site on eating before exercise in the morning; they have found a slight amount more fat grams burned if you don't eat before exercise in the morning, but not enough to make up more than a pound in a month compared to eating before exercise in the morning. They say it is more of a preference. I'm sticking with eating before exercise in the morning, that way I am not starving while working out or afterwards and eat the wrong things. http://www.apexfitness.com/html/nutrition/articles/toeat/ it is a great article also spoke about the intensity of the workout.

60 min on my friend the elliptical.

I love that thing so much. I always wanted to run but can't, at least not at this weight, because I have bad knees that can't take the pressure (heck, i doubt i'll be able to run much even at my goal weight - i've lost 80 lbs and still the darned things hurt when I do too much thumping on them). Elliptical makes me so happy! All the "running" motion with none of the horrible bone grinding impact.

LisaMarie71
11-29-2006, 12:19 PM
mandalinn, I love the elliptical too, and I never thought I'd want to run, but I've been getting into it. Unfortunately, I just sprained my knee yesterday and spent the evening in the emergency room. Ack!! I'm freaking out about the prospect of not doing cardio for a while and getting set back in my running. The pain is bad, but I'm more worried about not being able to work out!!! :(
