Hello to everyone it is sunday and hope that everyone remembered to set your clocks back one hours last night. Have to go well Be back soon .

10-29-2006, 12:11 PM
So Lucky I don't have to do that here in Hawaii. Although if you were late the next day you could always use the daylight savings time excuse, " I forgot to change my clocks" he he. Yesterday I went with my mom to farmer's Market I bought a bunch of fruit and veggies, (well more fruit then veggies) Did you girls know that there is yellow watermellon? It's called Sweet Watermellon it tastes just like a regular one but instead of it being red its yellow. Then I went to Cost U Less and bought $100 worth of healthy food. So, This week I should deffinately see a loss even if its in inches because I'm going to be eating right and hitting that gym every day!

How is everyone?

10-29-2006, 12:56 PM
Good Morning Ladies,

Yeah, the time change....we changed four times coming across the states! DH was changing the clocks last night and the boys were can we have another time change...we didn't go through another state! LOL Pretty funny.

Sara - Good for you filling the house with healthy foods!

Bonnie - Good Morning. How is the journaling going?

Melissa - Thanks for the link to the new thread!

Danielle - It's only Sunday....the kiddo's making you crazy again this weekend? ;)

I better run. We're taking another drive today to check out a town about 100 miles north of here. Took an amazing drive around some mountains yesterday. Absolutely beautiful. People were pulled over sledding and skiing on the mountains. It was great. I wish we had been prepared and joined them!

Let's make the most of the day we've been given Ladies!

10-29-2006, 01:01 PM
Good Sunday Morning everyone!! How's the weekend going? I did pretty well again yesterday until the evening hit. Damn candy again in the car while we drove to the haunted corn maze and I had an energy drink...140 unneccessary calories! I didnt go through it I watched my younger daughter play on the jumpy things, she had a blast. My leg didnt hurt at all the whole night, my foot hurt but not as bad as it has been so I'm thinking maybe I'm getting better! I hope anyway! I'm hoping for a good day today, football day, that means snacks. But perhaps i can make some good choices for myself. some veggies and dip or something. I was thinking today that I could be down in the 210s by new years if I really stuck to my guns. My goal today is to blow up my exerball. I'm concerned the scale will stop moving as I built muscle though, how sad is that. I know its a good thing but for whatever reason that number on the scale means alot to me right now. I really really really want to be in onederland!!!

Where did Danielle go?

Melody...yum Dove bars!! I love Dove chocolate so much!! I hear alot of good things about curves. Good luck on that house search. I'm hoping since the market has slowed down alot that will mean good things for buyers. I wouldnt want something right on a main road either, not with little ones. is your Sunday going?

Mia...where are you!?

Sara...when I lived in Arizona we didnt set back out clocks either, was nice to not have to deal with that, but we always had to remember the adjustment for our out of state friends and family. And our tv shows came on at different times LOL! I dont think I've seen yellow watermelon. I just love all these hybrid fruits they make though. Have you ever tried a grapple? My girls just love em. Apples that taste like a grape. They are too sweet for me.

Well lovelies I better get my studying done before the game starts! I hope everyone is having the best of weekends!!! Be good to you!

10-29-2006, 01:01 PM
Mel im here!!
hi everyone wow its sunday already seems like everyone is doing pretty good i think i may check out curves also there is a place called 24hr fitness that seems interesting too. Well i got a job that i was applied for as a clinical tech. i start tomorrow which means no more sitting around bored and just eating and ill be a little more active during the day. Sara somehow i missed you are in Hawaii lucky you i bet the fruit there are really good. Bonnie thanks for the reminder i felt like i got an extra hour of sleep last night well guys ill check back in later have a great day

10-29-2006, 01:22 PM
There you are Mia!! Congrats on the job! 24 hour fitness has some great programs I think! We dont have one here, but I do pay for membership to a huge facility on campus that I never use! Shame on me! LOL!! I hope you have a wonderful day!

10-29-2006, 01:33 PM
Sunday Greetings! Hey girls, hope your weekend was a good one, already time for a new week to start!!!

Bonnie, wow it sounds like you have been going really deep in your writing. Good for you. It's great that you have been able to put together your childhood with your eating issues now. Now the key is to be able to forgive and let go. I think once you've been able to do that you will find you'll have a much easier time relating food to good health instead of for survival. Good luck to you hon, I know exactly what you're going thru!

Melody, sounds like you guys have been busy bees with the house hunting! We're starting to look around here too, it's too bad I gotta wait 5 months! :( I HATE my neighbors!!! The kids aren't driving me nuts so much this weekend as they are exhausting me making me chase all over town for them. lol One spent the night Friday night at a friends, 2 went to parties last night, one of which spent the night so gotta go get him later....then we gotta go get pumpkins to carve tonight. Maybe I should hook up a taxi service sign on my truck, make some extra money??? LOL
Have fun today on your drive, sounds beautiful!!!

Mia, good luck with the job hon! I think it will make things alot easier than you think. Not quite so much time to obsess about food and think about it every second. Plus, you'll get to meet people everyday!! Have fun!!!

Sara, ahhhh beautiful Hawaii!!!! I've been once, and they literally had to drag me on the plane to come back home. LOL We don't do time change here either, so good thing, cause when we lived in CA I ALWAYS forgot. LOL Hope you enjoyed your watermelon and good girl for buying lots of good food this week!!!!

Melissa, I'm so glad you went with the family to the maze. So glad that the girls had a great time!! Bummer to hear about the foot on top of the leg already hurting. Hopefully you'll start to feel better soon!!! You very well could be in the 210's by new years, you drop weight pretty quickly when you stick it out. Go for it!

Yanno, it really stinks that we have to carve pumpkins just days before Halloween! It's to friggin hot here and they go bad quickly if you do 'em any sooner. Can you say 94 yesterday for temps? LOL The only good thing is it makes trick-or-treating extra nice when it's 75 outside in the evenings when it's time to head out!

Skipped the weigh in. I just couldn't do it. I didnt forget, in fact it's all I thought about Friday evening! However, one of the biggest things with intuitive eating is you need to throw out all "diet" mentality and the scale is as big a part of dieting if there's ever been. So, couldn't hop on the dang thing. Maybe in a few weeks I will, just for progress. Food's been pretty good, just still feels really weird to be eating what ever I want to eat.

Anyways, time to get the laundry started and get going around here!

10-30-2006, 09:49 AM
good morning I am doing fine I havnt been able to write too much because I have been soo busy . Had to take my DD to the Doctors yesturday and they said that she pulled a muscle they gave her something for pain and then some crutches and an excuse not to take Gym for a week. I think she will do ok. well i hate to cut this short but I have to get sooo much done today will try to stop in later.

10-30-2006, 09:50 AM
Boohiss colts! LOL!!

Good Morning everyone! Well yesterday was a bust, why oh why do I do that?! But, its over and done cant go back and change it can only move on to bigger and better things. Busy day for me, I've got an exam this morning, a meeting with a new photography place for school photos for lunch and then i'm doing a craft with my daughters 2nd grade class. That should keep me out of trouble!

It snowed last night, now I love snow but not this early!!! I'm sure it'll melt by noon but still!

Have a wonderful day everyone!

10-30-2006, 09:51 AM
Bonnie...I'm glad your daughter is okay and it was nothing serious. Have a fantastic day!

10-30-2006, 06:20 PM
Where did everyone go? Do I smell?

10-30-2006, 06:39 PM
Late getting here today, sorry!!!! Today is dh's day off so ya'll know what that means, right? lol Have had errands to run and lunch out with dh and then an interview for some overnight work. I tell ya, I am beat. The $@#%*! neighbors upstairs woke me up *3* times during the night, the last time being at 4 am. Someone please tell me what could be so pressing at 4 in the morning that you've gotta sit outside and yell and fight with your girlfriend????? Their dog also wouldn't stop barking! So inconsiderate, the whole lot of them. I am literally counting the days until we're outta here, I hate it that bad!

So Mel, good game last night, huh? :D :p Seriously, I loved it. Love when two formidable teams play like the Broncos & Colts did. Now that's what I call FOOTBALL!!! Hope your foot and leg are feeling better today?

Bonnie, glad DD is not seriously hurt. Still. Sucks to be on crutches in highschool!! I remember those days, kids were not so nice to me when I had to use them. LOL
Hope today is going better for you , and my hope for you is that you'll continue with the journaling.

Alrighty, well I'm outty. Tons to do around here as usual and if I don't do it, it won't get done......
I hope someone else decides to come by here today, it's like a ghost town!!

10-30-2006, 09:19 PM
Good Afternoon Ladies, glad everyone is doing well. I'm about to go get changed from work and then hit the gym. How's everyones challenges going?

Hows the weight loss going? Good I hope.

10-31-2006, 12:34 AM
Good evening all...I've had a lousy night. Ate too much and ate so much chocolate I've given myself a tummy ache. Why do I do that to myself? And after all my hard work the past few weeks. I need to turn that around in a big hurry!

Danielle...oh run around day! the joys! LOL!! I hope you came out unscathed. That game was disgusting I didnt enjoy it AT all! I'm sorry the neighbors are at it again, not that they ever quit. its so time for you guys to get the heck out of there! Time will fly through the holiday season. I miss you!! seems like forever since we've talked!

Sara...How'd that workout go?! You are so focused on it lately, way to go!!!

Well, perhaps I need a good nights sleep to gear up for tomorrow, lots of parties and grandparents to trick or treat. Its so cold here!! My girls are gonna freeze. The high tomorrow is only supposed to be 34 and then 10 degrees at night...brrrr!!! I hope everyone had a great night!! Hope to see you in the morning!

10-31-2006, 08:46 AM

I'm starting my day with 3 bulldozers and 2 crews inside!!!!!!! The renovations continue. Hope everyone has a great day! Let's try to stay away from the candy!!! :dizzy: One of these days I will have time to read posts!! All the Best, Deb:witch:

10-31-2006, 10:41 AM
Happy Halloween Ladies!!! Anyone doing anything tonight? We are taking Carter downtown, they usually have some trick or treating at the stores along the beach, and they have local artists carve pumpkins and they have games for the little guys. So that will be fun. We dont get any kids at our place, so that means I dont have to buy any candy!

Sorry I have been laggin on posting. This whole time change has thrown me off. Carter has been getting up way earlier, and thats just not fun. I am going to try to take him to the YMCAs daycare area again since he has been more social it might work now. He would cry the moment we would walk in the place and they would come get me like 10 mins later. It sucked.

I did go to the gym last night and I did the eliptical for 50 mins and then I went on a treadmill for 10. I had a fellow spin guy tell me I was ambitious! haha.

Seems like so much has gone on with you all since friday! I am going to go catch up and do personals later on. Take care, and make great choices today!!!

10-31-2006, 11:54 AM
Dropping in real quick to wish you all a Happy Halloween! Have to go "pee in a cup" (drug test) and then take DD to a dentist appt. so no time this a.m. for anything.

One good thing (and about THE ONLY) I'm glad we live out here in the desert for.........75 degree temps for trick or treating tonight!!!!

Have a great afternoon guys, BBL!

10-31-2006, 03:51 PM
My workout was good but short I got dropped off late, I was there for an hour and 15mins. I did half an hour on bike and the other half on elliptical. I realized I need to buy some weights maybe 5lb weights? and do them at home, the cardio part is fine but as for my strenth and toneing I havent done any of that.

Hope everyone is doing good.

11-01-2006, 09:48 AM
Good Morning everyone! Well how did your halloween go? Mine was awful, lack of planning and making really bad choices. Noone to blame but myself but I'll turn it around today, I HAVE to turn it around today! I've lost sight of my goals.

Deb...I hope the renovations are going well! Did you avoid the candy?

Stacia...Excellent job on your workout!! You are amazing! How did Carter do yesterday? Did he have a blast?! you got a job I take it?? Do tell woman! I am really jealous about your weather, we FROZE last night it was like 26 degrees out. Taylor even commented on how she wished we could go to AZ for Halloween because its warmer there LOL! hour workout is short?!! Sheesh girl you are kicking some serious butt!!! Way to go!! The weights are nice to have at home, I should take a cue from you and actually use mine!!

Bonnie and mia...miss you girls!

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!! Be good to yourself and make good choices!! That is my plan for today!

11-01-2006, 05:44 PM
Good Afternoon Ladies,

Well, I have no motivation. Everything is so up in the air right now I can't even focus. It's just another excuse. I don't know how to 'snap out of it' though.

Sara - Great workouts! Keep up the good work!

Danielle - peeing in a cup eh? Well, I'm thinking you are either pregnant of taking a new job physical! Good luck either way! LOL

Melissa - Halloween candy got the better of you eh? Thankfully we didn't even have any in the house. Today is a new day!

Okay, right now I am just making the conscious decision to make this a new, better day. Why is it such an "effort" to do what is healthy, right for us, and it comes so easily to eat unhealthy stuff? We have to change our way of thinking. I guess I need to go look in the mirror and tell that to myself before I tell it to you all eh?!;)

11-01-2006, 06:57 PM
Kids Halloween pics!

Nicole (

Kori (

Alex ( he didnt dress up, but he's too cute not to show! LOL

11-02-2006, 12:25 AM
Hello hello! How did your Wednesday go? I'm not gonna lie, another bust day. I didnt even have the intentions of sticking to plan it seems. Very frustrating what I'm doing to myself. I need to sit down and journal, I think thats what I'll do tonight instead of reading my book before bed. Friday is gonna be ugly I'm afraid! did your day go? I'm looking for my focus too, maybe we can find it together! I think I need to get back to holding myself accountable, I need to know someone is gonna check on me to see if I'm doing what I'm supposed to be. We can do this, noone can do it for us. I'm here for you! We'll win this battle! I hope you've got lots of healthy choices under the belt and are ready to have another great day tomorrow!

Danielle...I cant believe how big your kids are getting! Costumes are GREAT! I am just getting into the book we were supposed to do for the board, so far I'm a bit shocked at the racey talk! Sheesh! I must be getting old and prude! LOL!

Well since Danielle shared I suppose I could share my lovelies too. Here they are in their costumes I sewed for them.

Have a great night everyone!!

11-02-2006, 10:41 AM
oh oh! I want to share pics too! Your kids are all so cute!!! I love halloween! Carter got a kick out of it, and did really well! He would go up and ask for a "treat" and then only take 1!! I was shocked!

Sorry it is so big! Photobucket is not my friend right now. :(

I didnt make it to the gym on tuesday since it was halloween, but I went yesterday. My pilates instructor couldnt make it, so I worked out on the eliptical and then went to spin. She is the instructor for spin too, but she saw me there earlier in the day and then came up to me at spin, and asked.. "you are still here?!?!". I laughed a bit and told her no. I did go home for awhile and I went back. Is she crazy? 3 hours at the gym?? haha.

Melody, that is so understandable. You guys are going through a big move right now, I dont think I would be able to focus either! Relax get in the groove of things and hop back on!

Well, the little man is calling out "mama" guess he is awake early once again this week!! Its 6:40 and he was waking up close to 9 before the time change!

11-02-2006, 11:14 AM
Good Morning!!! Well you'll never guess what I did! I got on the elliptical this morning and went for 15 minutes! I tried to talk myself out of it but I won the battle! I could have even gone longer but I ran out of time. Leg is bothering me only slightly, nothing I cant live with considering. I'm so proud of myself!! I hope to make this a habit and maybe get on there earlier so i can go longer. We'll see!! busy day today with lunch in the classroom with my littlest, then I have my mock interview then my oldest's orthodontist appt then tonight she is in a parade for Day of the Dead. Busy busy...keeps me out of trouble!

Stacia...your little roo is so cute!!! OMG I forget how adorable they are in costume at that age. and so polite! LOL! Way to go on sticking to that workout even when the trainer wasnt there! You are doing so great!! Keep it up!!

Who watches Biggest Loser? What was up with Kim last night getting on Bob as if he doesnt know how to train....who does she think she is? And what does it say when one of her team actually WANTS to train with the other team. She was just too much, I get the feeling her and bob dont like each other much, they were both making snarky comments. I love bob! LOL!

Okay better get going here! Have a wonderful day everyone!!

11-02-2006, 12:04 PM
OMG Stacia, your little one is absolutely adorable!!! Loved the costume! My middle DD was Winnie the Pooh in preschool, I think she was 3 and man, what a cutie! Then at school they put her with a little boy who'd come as Tigger. They were hilarious!

Stacia, GREAT job on the workouts lady!!!! I think someday I would really like to try a spin class. Of course, that'll be in about 100 years since it's taking me freakin forever to lose any weight! LOL You did good girly!!!!

Melissa, yay you worked out!!!! Musta felt pretty good, huh? I've actually been doing my bike the last few days, nothing too dramatic but at least it's somethin. I'm glad the leg is holding up ok, this could be a good sign that maybe the eliptical will be a good workout for you for now. Costumes were awesome! I think next year I will just put in an order to you for my kids????? ;) Seriously woman, you could make some fantastic money doing what you did!!!!

Oh, and do not even get me started on BL!!!!!!! Mel, remember last night when I was telling you how I could not stand Kim??? This is why!!! Ugh, made me sick the way she was after Bob like she was. WTH?? He asked to train with Bob, obviously he wasn't afraid to train hard. And Bob brought up a very good point, the guy he was training (his name escapes me at the moment! lol) had absolutely no upper body strength. It was almost like he was asking what the heck the red team's been doing all these months, yanno? Then her snarky comment about how her team's won more weigh-in's. PUHLEEZE!!!!! They put up the measliest amounts the last couple weeks so she can pound sand for all I care. I really really hope she wont be back for another season, she does not mesh well with Bob in any way. Really is a turn off for me in regards to watching the show. At least Jillian and Bob had a rapore that was competitive but you could tell they liked eachother & were friends. I dunno, maybe I'm just too sensitive since I ♥ Bob so much! LOL And OMG, did you see Brian's "after"??? He looks amazing!!!

Okay, *calming down*...all done with my BL grouch-fest I promise! LOL Girls I am seriously at a crossroad this a.m. I am feeling hopeless. I love love love the intuitive eating approach and all that but man, I am feeling really really big. I guess maybe I am not embracing the process 100%? I dunno. I do know that its almost the end of '96 and I am finishing the year bigger than when it first started. This makes me sad. :( While I love what the IE process has brought me in terms of less anxiety and obsession about food, at the same time I feel as if I'm just gaining and gaining.....I guess maybe I'm being too impatient and want to cut corners in terms of allowing the natural path to occur that is IE. What a pain in the @$$ I am to myself!! LOL Maybe I should just cut off my head and then everything would be ok. Its all that thinking I keep doing that gets me into trouble every time! ARgh!!!!
So yeah, today I am alittle discouraged and not trusting myself much. Hopefully I'll be able to snap outta this and just keep walking straight.

Ladies, have a great afternoon!!!

♥ Danielle

11-02-2006, 04:35 PM
So last night Matt wanted to eat out, he realized that I'm working hard to stay healthy and he said we could go to subway. for some reason i felt rushed and i said the first thing out of my mouth... Chicken bacon Ranch... this morning I went to look up the nutritional value of the sandwhich so I can enter it on (they have a great tracking system and its free for self subscribers) 540 calories for a 6in and I had a 12inch! I about died, Yesterday I didn't get to work out yesterday. I told him I never going to have that sandwhich again this morning in an email. I'm deffinately going to be marking down which ones i can eat for next time... he kind of thought it was funny and said i'd have been better off at McDonalds . hehe. Oh well now I know and Luckily I didnt go over 2000 calories, i was at the 1700 mark including the sandwhich. crap hehe. Im deffinately going to the gym tonight!!! :)

Your kids look so cute in their Halloween Costume

11-02-2006, 09:18 PM
What are you ladies planning for thanksgiving dinner? My mom said I can plan whatever sides I want ( I told her healthy sides) for thanksgiving and she'll go with me to buy the ingredients...

What are you planning or might be thinking for thanksgiving?

11-03-2006, 09:58 AM
Good Morning, good morning!! Well its finally Friday! I kind of feel like, okay lax week is over time to get down to business! Yesterday was a busy day. Orthodontist was...oye! First we were almost late because I couldnt find it, I HATE to be late!! Then we had to wait for 45 minutes before we were even seen. Then the bad news! She can either get a retainer that will fix the one tooth that is causing problems for $600 but that wont fix everything just the one tooth. Or a full set of braces for $4800...OUCH!! Oh and if we want clear thats another $500. But the good news is she'd only have to have them for 18 months. The older they get the more expensive they get!!

My plan is to get on the elliptical again this morning as soon as dd is out the door, that'll give me at least 30 minutes before I gotta hit the showers.

Danielle.....Brian's after was amazing, it didnt look anything like him. Took YEARS off his face. I thought they were just doing another "others" profile when it started. I  bob too!! Maybe we could kidnap him, and all 3 of us run off to a tropical island and he can whip us into shape! LOL!! Hey did you see Oprah yesterday? Dr. Oz was on again, they've got a new book out called "YOU on a diet" I want to read it, perhaps we could do it together? If you are interested anyway. Let me know! NO cutting off of the heads!! You know as well as I do that this journey is chalk full of ups and downs as long as you keep going you are gonna win!! I know you can do this! I know how much you want it! Its just gonna take us some time but we are gonna cross that finish line! Way to go on that bike lately!!! I'm so proud of you Danielle! You inspire me every single day. sounds like you are doing GREAT!! Even with the big sandwich you still came in below calories, that is good news!! That doesnt mean you are skipping other meals though does it? How did that workout go? Thanksgiving around here is my favorite holiday. I just LOVE to cook that meal. I get up early early and get the bird in the oven and enjoy some cocoa while I watch the parade and wait for the monsters to awaken. Because its just the one day I really dont limit myself to doing it healthy. I know I should, I know I'd be better off for it but we just dont. You could have all the same sides just doing it healthier, use chicken broth instead of butter to flavor mashed potatoes, use sweet instead of white potatoes. Steamed veggies rather than the fattening green bean casserole. As long as you cut where you can you will be that much better off.

Okay time to meet the elliptical! Have a wonderful day everyone!!

11-03-2006, 10:17 AM
Forgot weigh in! Down 1.6 lbs this week. dunno how I did that but I'll take it!!

11-03-2006, 12:11 PM
Good Morning!!!

Well, not so good a weigh in....up 1.5. Argh!! I know it's only because I am still "figuring out" this approach I'm doing, but man, sorta disheartening, I am human afterall of course the #'s are gonna bother me. Oh well, another week ahead and so I guess I just keep trying.

Sara, you are doing so well with your workouts, keep it up! Bummer about the sandwich but hey, at least you came in under calories still, right! I hope you are eating enough though....gotta keep the "furnace" burning. lol As far as Thanksgiving, I don't really make anything different to fit lower calories at all...just don't like that taste, esp for a holiday. I just watch portions as best I can and go from there. I dunno, call it comfort foods from childhood or whatever, but I make things exactly like how it was growing up for me! Melissa's right though, you can cut alot by substituting broth for butter and controlling oils and sugar. Good luck!

Melissa, definitely would be interesting in reading Dr Oz's book! I saw the preview for it the other day and I totally forgot to watch yesterday. I even had 2 chances to watch--she comes on at 3 and then again at 9pm. LOL Big congrats on your loss this week!!!! You done good kid, I'm way proud of you!!!! I definitely would be in for kidnapping Bob. LOL I swear I wish I could just keep him here and have him telling me what I need to be doing. Also having him just get in my head and motivate me like he does would be awesome! Trying to talk the hubster into letting me go and train with him in L.A.! LOL So far I don't think he's buyin it. :D And didn't I warn ya about the cost of those braces! Ouchie, huh? Not to mention now our dentist is really pushing for my littlest one to start ortho treatment because she has such severe overcrowding and it's screwing up her bite....ugh, I seriously cannot afford another 6k on the books!!! And I cannot believe yours is charging an extra $500 for clear, that's outrageous, ours said they'd cost the same if that's what Alex had wanted. So I wish you guys good luck in deciding what to do...I know its a rough decision because you're like me, wanna make sure you do what's good for the self-esteem of the kids, but at the same time where the heck does that $$ come from!!!

Alrighty girls, I'm outty....DS has an ortho (speaking of appt. and then DD has an awards assembly that she's getting 2 awards at. Then tonight is clothes shopping for DS and for me (begrudgingly)....I hope dh is planning on taking me out to dinner after the week I've had. LOL

Make today a great one ladies!

♥ Danielle

11-03-2006, 01:59 PM
I'm actually gaining wait instead of loosing it even though im going to the gym everyday. Maybe you guys can give me some tips?

Tuesday looked like this :

Wednesday looked like this:

I know I need to drink some more water. Get Rid of the soda. Any ideas? I know something must be wrong because I'm gaining weight instead of losing it.

11-03-2006, 03:20 PM
Hi Sara, well looking at your menu's it looks like you're not getting nearly enough food. Honestly! Also, where are your fruits & veggies??? You look like you could be eating ALOT of sodium with the chips and Top Ramen soups. And, like you said, the soda should go, that too has lots of sodium in it. If you absolutely HAVE to have soda can you make it for like one meal and limited to just 8 or 6oz?? that will help alot! I would definitely up your calories and see if the weight starts coming off. Seems to me that you should be closer to 2,000 cal. daily even for weight loss, I am not sure of your height and what you would classify your workouts as, so you may need to recalculate your daily intake. Just MHO of course, but I do know that if you're not eating enough your body will hang on to every last pound as a way of preservation. Do not be afraid to eat! This isnt about starving yourself to lose, it's about learning to eat what's healthy and dropping the weight in a healthy fashion. Okay, my mommy rant is over. :D I told you what I would tell my own daughters, Sara. Please be safe!!!

I definelty agree with Danielle you arent eating enough, and some of the choices like the soda and the chips and the ramen, those are just empty calories. There is no oomph to those foods, nothing for your body to go off of. 1100 calories for a day is way way too low. You'd be amazed at how much you really can eat and still lose weight. People think you gotta starve yourself to lose and thats just not true. Your body needs fuel to function, and if its not getting the fuel it needs its gonna hold onto everything you do give it and if you do lose you are gonna lose lean muscle tissue rather than fat...not good. There are tons of health calculators out there you can use to figure out where you need to be to be losing. For me I think I can still have like 1800 calories and still lose 2 lbs a week. Your first step would be to find that info out and I bet you'll see that scale move the right way again. Also...because you are working out so much you are gaining lean muscle tissue, that can often mean an up on the scale too, make sure you are taking those measurements. The tape measure will show you the true losses where the scale can decieve you. Those amazing workouts can mean your body needs more calories too. I hope thats of some help, let me know if you need more!!

Plus Sara with working out I tend to gain then loose. You are gaining muscle. But I do agree with Melissa and Danielle, a lot of empty calories are going on there and not enough veggies and fruits. And the mt. dew (my fav) has to go. One day I just cut it out cold turkey. I started to drink wated instead. hth!!

Now reading all of that food + watching the food network = me getting hungry for lunch. haha.

The Garlic Chicken Pasta I make it with Broccoli, corn, and carrots. More veggies than actual pasta. My height is 5'11. I usually dont drink soda and if I do it's usuallydiet. I've been starting to drink that V8 splash and Cant believe I didnt add that too.

I know I need to eat more fruits and veggies. Most of the time I'm not hungry and I feellike I have to force myself to eat.

Thanks for all the advice. I'll keep you updated. And will probably be asking more later

Its a learning process Sara and you'll figure it all out. There are some foods I just cant seem to give up yet myself LOL...but maybe one day! As long as today is better than yesterday, and you've been kicking serious butt with the workouts. Just remember that measuring tape!

Sara...I put your info into the womans health calculator and this is what it came up with

Your results for the Women's Nutrition Guide Calorie Calculator

These results will help you to know how many calories you need to maintain your current weight, and the number of calories needed per day to achieve your goal weight in a healthy, steady manner.

You need 2672.7 calories per day to maintain your current weight without exercise.

You need 2000.5 calories per day to reach your goal weight slowly and maintain that weight without exercise.

If you reduce your current caloric intake to 2172.7 calories per day you will lose one pound per week without exercise.

If you increase your current caloric intake to 3172.7 calories per day, you will gain one pound per week.

Exercise and Calorie Needs

If you exercise for 30 minutes each day, you may increase your caloric intake to 2969.2 calories per day and still maintain your current weight.

If you exercise for 60 minutes each day, you may increase your caloric intake to 3339.8 calories per day to maintain your current weight.

If you exercise for 30 minutes each day, you will be able to reach your goal weight with 2216.3 calories per day.

If you exercise for 60 minutes each day, you will be able to reach your goal weight with 2486.1 calories per day.

The United States Department of Agriculture suggests that approximately 50% of your calories come from carbohydrates, about 30% from fats, and approximately 20% from protein sources. 1 gram of protein has about 4 calories, 1 gram of fat has about 9 calories, and 1 gram of carbohydrate has about 4 calories.

You need 334.1 grams of carbohydrates, 88.2 grams of fat, and 133.6 grams of protein per day for 2672.7 calories to maintain your weight of 273 pounds.

You need 250.1 grams of carbohydrates, 66 grams of fat, and 100 grams of protein per day for 2000.5 calories to maintain your goal weight of 115 pounds.

Opinions vary greatly about the percentages of fats, carbohydrates, and proteins that should make up your diet. About has two great sources of information for Low Carbohydrate Diets and Low Fat Diets.

Please remember that these calorie counts are an average, you may need to adjust your calorie needs up or down slightly to get the results you want.

Glad to help Sara...its amazing how much you can still eat and lose huh? Plus by eating more you dont get your hormones working against you. I hope you had a great day today!! I blew it. I really want to get that book this weekend, money is tight but we got our christmas bonuses already so maybe I can sneak a little out of there.

I'll 'see' you in the morning everyone!

hi everyone sorry i have beenn gone so long i had to get use to working 9-6 i have been going straight to bed when i get home. i did work out one morning before work because i wake up at 6am anyways i havent really been doing what im suppose to do but know that im back in gear with working i can stay on track. the dr. i work for lost 20lbs since oct. and he dosent eat breakfast if he is not hungry and he cuts out alot of sugar and replace it with sweeteners he eats a regular dinner and light lunch and drinks water
i was suprised considering he is a dr. and i thought it was a must to eat breakfast but it makes sense if your body isnt hungry then listen to it and he also said no one body is alike so no one can calculate and exact number of calories to eat. well we will see....... i personally need a protein shake or something in the am now im only able to eat 3 meals a day so all i have to really do is concentrate on making wise choices and drink water

congrats to everyone im sure you are doing great and since i see your still posting then your still headed in the right direction well i have to go headed to walmart to take pics of the baby have a great day everyone i plan to get a laptop after thanksgiving and hopefully get high speed so ill be on alot more then miss you guys

p.s sara what type of site are you using for your food diary?

11-04-2006, 01:24 PM
I'm using I really like it. I subscribe to the magazine too. I think it's like a dollar an issue or something. It calculates calories burned, you just enter what you did and for how long, also it can track your weight, analyze your diet, check your bmi , compare days, Most of which I havent used yet as you can tell hehe. But I think it's neat. :)

Good Morning ladies!!! Mia so great to see you here this morning! I totally forgot that you started a new job, I was getting worried that we had lost you too! I'm very surprised that that doctor skips breakfast, everything I've ever heard and read says never to do that. It starts your metabolism for the day. Yes you can still lose weight by not eating breakfast and cutting sugars but is it going to be sustainable? Time will tell.

Its a cold dreary day today. Winter has arrived I think. I need to get my kids' trampoline taken down before we get any snow. Plus I'm swamped with homework this weekend. I hope everyone has a fantastic day today!!

Good Morning Ladies,

Well, yesterday I downloaded all the pictures from our trip and made sure I had them on disc and on the computer and yadda, yadda. It made me so disgusted to see myself. I avoid mirrors like the plague...but there was no getting out of those pictures. This fat fest is over. I'm going today to develop the pictures and I'm picking out the sickest, most disgusting ones (which, wont be hard because they are all disgusting) and posting them around the house just to remind myself of what I need to do.

Melissa - our kids are always so sad to see the trampoline get packed up. They absolutely love that thing.

Danielle - So, you never did say the other day what the pee test was for...I hope it was nothing serious.

Sara - yep, I'll just reiterate what the others said. You are working out hard and muscle weighs more than fat. You are very likely developing muscle. I would also use the tape measure and the way your clothes fit as a guide, not just the stupid scale. The pop should definitely go...and ramon? The ramon's I've seen are really high in fat...looks like you've got a lower version...but I would still question it because of the sodium. I love ramon though! LOL Just hang in there. You are doing awsome with your workouts and you are on top of your food with your journaling. You will find a groove very soon. DON'T GIVE IN TO THE SCALE! Don't let it sabotage you. You keep doing what you know is right and it WILL move.

Have to run. Have a great day Ladies.
