Had a good day today. Is the Halloween candy driving anyone else nuts! UGH! I think I'm gonna put it all in one container with a reminder note for me to STAY OUT! Right now it is on my kitchen counter and that is not a good place for it. Keep up the good work ladies! Christian 11-02-2006, 09:21 AM I am with you on the candy Lynn, I actually have it outside in my hubbys worktruck  I am not in for a good weigh in tonight ladies...I may be up 2 or 3 pounds on account of the bad eating I did this weekend and Tuesday night, I dont want to change that signature but it is gonna happen so I had better get used to it and just do good this week. Hey andreaphilip3, Rose, Christian, Zhai, scalewatcher, Ipanema. What's up? Welcome jenniferp417, GettinFit, JasonsLea, shelliebellie, zephyr1820, Ceara0624. Nice to see some more people here. How are you doing today andreaphilip3, Christian, rose? I hope you are getting back OP. I am trying my best. Not feeling very well today so just resting. Hope to see you later. Kim 707Goddess 11-02-2006, 02:33 PM OK im here and day one was great i actully exercised yesterday first time in a longgggggggg time LOL im back and going hard in nov my husband graduates from the police academy on dec 9th and i dont want to run on stage and knock us both over so im losing for that right now take care ladies i weigh in tomarrow ( fingers crossed ) i hope it's a good one spanky 11-02-2006, 03:26 PM Good Morning! Worked a night shift last night and surprised at how fired up I am today. I'm really psyched up and I think it's because I'm trying to go with 5 pound mini goals. 5 pounds sounds like it's doable. Somehow my mind can wrap itself around that much and just 1 pound seems like real progress! That said, I'm down to 140 today and feeling like I want to keep at it instead of thinking "Big deal, down a pound--there's 20-some to go, guess I'll have a cookie". So today I'll do some weights and hit the road with my little "Walking Coach", Ellie and get some exercise in. How goes it for you today? Ipa Zhai-Lynn 11-02-2006, 10:03 PM Hello Ladies! Hope your wi went better than expected tonight Christie! Good idea on the Halloween candy! ;) Congrats on getting back on the exercise wagon 707! Welcome Jeniferp417! Glad your feeling psyched Ipa!! :) Hi Kim!! Keep up the awesome work. I'm a bit bummed today because I had my cholesterol checked on Monday and it was unchanged. The last I had it checked was October 05. So, perhaps it had gone even higher than it was in 10/05 and is on it's way down.....let's hope. My good cholesterol is good and so is the ratio. I'll have it checked again in 3 months, so I'm hoping for improvment by then. High cholesterol runs in my family, but I really don't want to go on meds! Any ideas to lower that besides staying op, losing weight and exercising six days a week? JasonsLea 11-02-2006, 10:14 PM Hi all! How are you all doing? I'm feeling great, my teeth just ache. But that's my fault because I've had like four (diet) sodas today and my teeth hate that! One soda a day is all they can take right now. I've been doing REALLY good at keeping track of my points. I've been writing down EVERYTHING that has made it past my lips. Ex. I had two of those little pumpkin candy corn last night and I tracked down the info and calculated those points (1 pt). jenniferp417 11-03-2006, 08:44 AM Good morning ladies! I'm so disappointed in myself - I went completely off program last night. I re-joined a club I used to be a part of, and was on an emotional high from seeing all my old friends... so instead of continuing that high with good OP food, I bought fried stuff. I regretted it almost as soon as I started eating, but I still have the mental programming that I "paid good money for that so I better eat it." I *did* only eat until I was satisfied though, and then I stopped. The worst part is, I still have to figure points and journal this. I count my points starting at dinner time, not breakfast, so that throws today into chaos. I hope none of you mind my "unloading" on you - I feel much better for the "confession" and next time will plan ahead before I go to that restaurant after the club meeting. They have a plate of fresh, raw veggies as an option! How cool is that? I can eat out with them for FREE (points-wise) if need be! Blank65 11-03-2006, 08:58 AM Count me in!! Goals for November: 1) Walk on treadmill at least .10 mile per day. Example: Nov 1st = .10 (Actual = .25!), Nov 2 = .20 (Actual = .47!), Nov. 3 = .30 miles, etc., etc., etc. I'll be up to 3 miles by the end of the month! Unless I keep going ove my goals of course. Whoo Hoo! 2) Cut down on the soda. I usually drink Diet Pepsi, but I'm replacing a minimum of one can of soda with water. So far I'm doing pretty good on that and even noticed my youngest son drinking water at dinner last night, just like me! 3) Come see y'all EVERY DAY!! I'm soooo glad I found ya! Deb SKermie17 11-03-2006, 09:03 AM Goals for this month 1. Increase water intake. 2. Start exercising. 3. Stay within points. 4. Journal. This month I'm hoping to lose at least 5 lbs. Let's see if I can do this. Christian 11-03-2006, 09:40 AM :welcome: Deb! We are glad you found us too :D You can do it! Lynn- I will say a prayer for your blood pressure, high blood pressure runs in my family too  hang in there ;) Kim- Hope you are feeling better today ...... Rose- Where are ya girl?? Andrea- I was disappointed with the end of the show too, but maybe they can fix it next week and redeem themselves. Dori- I believe in you, 5 pounds is very doable  Shellie- :welcome: Keep up the good work .. IPA- I want that chair too  scalewatcher- How are you doing? Lea- Are you getting those 7 hours in of sleep at night? Getting fit- How is not weighing in till the meetings going for you? I find that almost impossible here, I know you can do it though, hang in... Jennifer- Been there done that....Dont beat yourself up and start fresh, like you said , now you know a better choice and you will make it. 707- How was WI? Well my weigh in wasnt pretty, I was up 1.5, I was expecting 2 so I was ok with the gain because it was poor choices all week that I made and I had to pay for it, BUT today is fresh and I am ready to continue taking better care of myslef, Lets get it done ladies :carrot: nibs 11-03-2006, 11:38 AM Hi guys, So far so good for me today. I haven't been into the Halloween junk yet and my plans are to stay out of it. If I can just get a day or two inder my belt I'll be ok. Going to have a little lunch now and then get on the treadmill for a bit. Christian 1.5 pounds isn't all that bad. You can probably have that off again by next week. Andreaphilip3.....Where are you girl!!! Missing you again. Rose...You too. Not seeing you here? See you all later. Kim 707Goddess 11-03-2006, 12:50 PM WI sucked i lost nothing but i didnt gain soooooo i guess i can be happy with that but im not im totally bumed out Take care i'll check in later nibs 11-03-2006, 02:56 PM Hey guys, 707, the good thing is you didn't gain. I would be extremely happy if I maintained. If I gain and there is a reason for it I'm also OK with it. I am back Op I think......I have stayed within my points so far today and I just got off the treadmill. I walk at a fast pace for 60 minutes so I feel very good about that. Now I better get supper on the go and start getting ready for work. TTYL Kim spanky 11-03-2006, 03:31 PM Morning!!! Actually it's afternoon, but I just got up after another night shift... I'm still on a roll here. Having a very small short term goal seems to work for me better than staring at a mountain of fat that I have to lose. Yesterday was OP all the way with water and food but no exercise. Gonna fix that today. I'm reading a book called "Your Perfect Weight" that has a one year plan to overhaul your whole physical program and lose by changing habits instead of "dieting" per se. I like the approach and am going to try to focus more on improving my eating and exercise habits. Jennifer--when I do that in a restaurant I grab the waitress for a doggy bag and quick shovel half of the meal into it. Then I focus on the conversation. Once I get it home, I almost never find leftover fried stuff palatable and the dog gets it [see, it didn't go to waste!]. I'm just merciless with throwing food away--it either goes to waste or it goes to MY waist!! In fact, once I learned to throw out food that's bad for me, I found it very freeing. It's my way of "fighting back" against the bad stuff that jumps onto my plate! Try it--throw away the third cookie in the snack pack and see for yourself! 707--here's another little Ipa Poem for you:"To Maintain is STILL a gain!" A gain for you in terms of hanging in there, that is! To me, maintenance is a job well done for the week. Kim--WOW. That's some serious walking time, I'm inspired! Lynn--I started this WW project because of my own high blood pressure. Mine is still borderline, but the Dr. says to get to my first 10lb mini goal and we'll re-check it. There's no better way to deal with this other than sticking to our plans I guess. Dori--I'm going for a 5lb loss this month too. I finally set myself a realistic goal and feel much more motivated. Deb--come and see us lots! This is a dedicated group! Christie--it's STILL early in the month. Jump back on the wagon and let's make our goals happen! JasonsLea--Tell me all bout that groovy funny avatar? I'm into graphics and it fascinates me! Psyching myself up for the weekend--NO WAY am I gonna veer off the path. I WANT that WI to be great on Monday! Onward! Ipa JasonsLea 11-03-2006, 06:37 PM Jennifer, that happens to me all the time. I get around my friends and poof! my diet goes up in flames. But I've gotten better at it. I started splitting entrees with a friend when we go out and I drink TONS of water before and during eating. And no rolls! Welcome Deb! Dori, those 5 lbs will be gone in no time! Christie, I didn't get them last night. No wonder I have a headache today. And go you for the positive attitude! Go Kim! No junk for you! 707, no gain is ALWAYS good! Ipa, my avatar is of Gir from Invader Zim, a cartoon that used to run on Nick. I loved that show and was so pissed when they canceled it....it seems like they always cancel the cartoons I like! I used to have a whole folder full of avatars but this damn virus deleted all of them. So I have to start anew. Today was a good day. I ate two 6' subs from Subway that totaled a whopping 19 pts!!! Geez! But I'm not fretting. I have no plans of going anywhere tonight but bed and I have lots of two pt soups and zero pt pickles to snack on till bedtime. :) Rosegarden 11-03-2006, 07:50 PM HI GUYS!!!! I didn't quit on ya I promise! Our internet line went out at work yesterday and today the boss about did me in with work so I worked two days in a row without play. WHEW - hopefully, that's over for a bit ;) I had WI yesterday and I was still down 1/2 lb - go figure. I thought I blew my week. I've had much better WIs but I was pleased as punch that I lost. Making a huge shopping list tonight and spending tomorrow cooking for the month and planning. That's my biggest key to making this work. Plan, plan, plan and have the stuff to make that planning work. I tried a mint chewy bar from WW yesterday. WOW was that good and only 2 pts - better yet! I just wish they weren't quite so pricey. So how's everyone doing? New faces I see - Welcome everybody! nibs 11-04-2006, 01:03 AM Hi guys, At work right now. It's about 1:30 AM and I just had a few crackers to get me through the night. Also drank some water. I had plans to have my mini snack bag of popcorn but I accidently burnt it. Oh well the crackers weren't too bad. Tomorrow night I will have to bring two bags of popcorn just in case. How was the day for all of you. I had a good day OP. I drank 6 glasses of water, stayed within my points and exercised for an hour. Now to keep that up for the rest of the week. Anyone seen andrea???? I hope you're OK girl. Post and let us know how you are doing. Good or bad, we're here for you. Are you still sick? Anyway better go and do a round. My plans are to stay OP again tomorrow and I will exercise some. Not sure if it will be beofre or after I do the bed thing. Tootles......;) Kim nibs 11-04-2006, 01:05 AM Forgot......Congrats on the 1/2 pound Rose. A loss is a loss!!!! Hi ya Ipanema and JasonsLea!!! scalewatcher 11-04-2006, 06:55 AM hey everyone, I didn't post yesterday because I had to go to the doctor. I have a problem with my knee again (the problem is a meniscus tear). What is knee cartilage? Is it the meniscus or the ends of the bone? Both the covering of the bone within the joint and the meniscus are made of cartilage--this makes the issue a little confusing. People often say 'cartilage' to mean the meniscus (the wedges of cartilage between the bone) or to mean the joint surface (so-called articular cartilage which caps the ends of the bone). It is very painful. I am taking a medicine called Diclofenac. I have to take it for 4 weeks minimum. I am going to have to stay off my feet for a few days. That is not good. The medicine also is probably going to cause some weight gain. I just starting dropping weight after a long slump. So I am not too happy with this situation. Rosegarden 11-04-2006, 10:08 AM Awww Scale - you gotta take care of yourself first and foremost. Just don't use that time as an opportunity to go off program. Just remember as you work the program that the medicine may be a factor. So you lose a little slower. I'm a slow loser myself. I know it can be discouraging. But call a spade, a spade and go on with it. We'll be here for ya! Big hugs. Christian 11-04-2006, 10:34 AM Scalewatcher- Will pray for ya sis...hang in there  Guys .....I have made a decision that I hope wont kick me off the challenge thread......I am gonna do the South Beach diet to try to get the last 10 off before Dec 9th (hubbys Christmas party) I will return to WW most likely after this goal is reached to maintain, but just for now I need to try this...if it doesnt seem to work I will be back on core as quick as you can say WW ;) I hope I can still post here and continue to give/recieve support, You guys are always here when I need ya...Have a great day ladies ;) Rosegarden 11-04-2006, 01:46 PM I'm not concerned about how you do your weight loss. You learned some good concepts from WW - good luck on South Beach. The problem I've heard from everyone who went on it was that it wasn't sustainable. So I hope you give WW another try after the party. Keep up with us. I'll be interested how it's going Christian 11-04-2006, 04:37 PM Thanks Rose ;) I will be back on WW as soon as it is over I am sure...I just need the extra boost to get me there before the 9th, I got the invitation today in the mail and I am posting it on my fridge for thinspiration :carrot: andreaphilip3 11-04-2006, 05:30 PM hey guys just droppin in to say hi:) im not bk op yet but yall are doin awesome! welcome to all the newbies:) as per TBL, they better redeem themselves!! i was soooo p/o i was like how can they they just drop the added ppl in tyhere and then end it??? did yall see ho kai is being? she ticked!! she s like i gave up goin home for this??? they are all like these ppl have got to go!!! Christian 11-04-2006, 07:03 PM I think it was kinda weird that they said the at home players have lost more than the ones at the ranch that they brought to the house, it seems so hard for me at home sometimes...I cant imagine them doing better  andreaphilip3 11-04-2006, 09:26 PM http://www.holistichiro.com/weightloss/docs/fifty_ways.pdf andreaphilip3 11-04-2006, 09:27 PM you and me both chris!(unless they get free training or something we dont know about) GettinFit 11-04-2006, 10:48 PM Hi all, Just wanted to pop in and say hi and I hope everyone is having a good month so far. I've been sticking to my plan and I had a loss this week of 2.4 pounds. I'm sticking with the Core plan and I love it. I'm staying off the scale too. It's hard but I'm doing it. I hope everyone has a great OP week!! I Rosegarden 11-05-2006, 09:19 AM Good job Gettinfit!!!! Keep it up - we're early into the month and you're doing great! Didn't get a chance to do any cooking yesterday. Got called into work but the good thing was that I was able to run to the Fruit/Veggie market and STOCK UP. My fridge was so bare of good healthy stuff. Now that problem is gone! Too bad I have to work again today. I do have a couple hours after church so maybe that will be the key for the week. Have a good Sunday everybody! nibs 11-05-2006, 01:14 PM Hidy Ho Neighbors, I am not long up and I had a pretty good nap today. Hopefully I won't be too tired tonight at work. I stayed OP again yesterday and exercised for an hour before I went to work. All I had last night at work was 2 bottles of water and a mini bag of light popcorn. The girls are cooking a turkey dinner today at work so I stuffed the bird and put it in the oven for them at 6Am this morning. They were very thankful and said they were going to save some for me. I told them all I wanted was a little bit of white turkey so I could make a sandwich tonight. They also have this wonderful looking Mississippi Mudd Pie for dessert......I WANTED TO EAT IT MYSELF.......LOL. But another of my co-workers bought in a Zucchini Bread also so she said she was going to save me a small piece of that instead. They are really helpful when it comes to my eating......most of the time....lol;) Anyway I NEED to get a cup of coffee and hit the treadmill again so I will talk to you all soon. Hi ya andreaphilip3, Rose, Christian, GettinFit, scalewatcher. What's up today? TTYS Kim andreaphilip3 11-05-2006, 03:30 PM hi guys! great job fit!! im on core too...(or should i say i was bf i fell off ) but i will work my way back hi kim! good job hon im glad you got some nap time in! hi rosie.... im glad you have healthy food now.:) Zhai-Lynn 11-06-2006, 08:09 AM Congratulations on your weight loss GettinFit! :carrot: Keep up the good work ladies! Pluggin' away here. I made a much needed grocery run as well this weekend. Makes staying on program SO much easier with lots of healthy choices! It's a new week! Let's DO IT!! Christian 11-06-2006, 09:05 AM Lynn- I am with ya girl....I know we can and will do great ....depends on just how bad we want it right?? ;) Today is my second day on the South Beach Diet and so far so good...I had gained almost 5 pounds eating out with my family over the weekend though:eek: (before staring the plan yesterday) and 3.5 are gone today so hopefully the other pound and a half will be gone by morning, (water weight I am sure) Wont be able to change my ticker till Thursday and it may not be a big change but I am sure I will have a loss even if it is tiny this week ;) Looking for a better one the next week and hope to be at least 144 by the end of the 14 days on the first phase...then I will do it again right after Thanksgiving and hope to hit the 139 before the Christmas party  at least that is my goal ;) Hope you all have a great day, and dont worry I will be back on WW to maintain my losses before ya know it :D Rosegarden 11-06-2006, 09:49 AM Happy Monday morning! How did everyone's weekend go? Fortunately, I kept busy so there wasn't the opportunity for havoc. I grabbed yummy veggie lasagna roll ups for lunch today, a pear and a banana. Brought in my box of instant oatmeal and I think I'm good to go. Gotta remember to bring in some veggies though. I think I've been slacking a bit on them lately. I love a weekend after being totally OP! I feel so much better today. Let's pick ourselves up and have a great week everybody! zephyr1820 11-06-2006, 10:37 AM Well, my weekend and last week were not so great. I was sick, so I journaled very little between fevers. I ate so few vegetables and drank so little water that I'm starting to feel like the plumbing's going to back up. :D I am back OP today with a vengence. I am journaling, drinking my water and am going to eat all those veggies and exercise like a demon this week. I will get back on track. This is my first really lackluster week in about 3 months since joining WW. I know I can't help it when I get sick, but I don't like falling behind in my journaling and stuff. So last week's WI was down 2.4 #. We will see this afternoon what the scales say. I hope to get something out of that sickness last week. Maybe I will have lost something. Keep your fingers crossed. :dizzy: Christian 11-06-2006, 10:55 AM Glad your feeling better Cheryl...I am sure you will have another loss this weigh in....:D Rose- Great job on sticking OP over the weekend....You go girl :carrot: freeda 11-06-2006, 11:34 AM My Nov goal: Get on program. Period. andreaphilip3 11-06-2006, 12:13 PM hi guys..... free: right now thats my goal too and its so dang hard. hi kim rosie chris and anyone i missed:) Christian 11-06-2006, 12:54 PM :welcome: freeda, I totally understand where you are coming from ;) Andrea- Hey there!!! I am sure you will be back on track in no time flat  shelliebellie 11-06-2006, 02:23 PM Welcome Freeda, happy Monday everyone. Well, I had a good weigh in on Sat., 3.8 lbs. Went out with the family on Sunday and had part of an enormous Apple pie A la mode :( I just couldn't help myself. That's ok. I will pick myself up, dust myself off, and have a great week. I see all of you with weigh-ins during the week, am I the only weekend weigher? CarebearsChris 11-06-2006, 02:35 PM Hey...good afternoon everyone. How is it going today? I am bored and am trying to find others things to do so I don't eat. I have walked on the treadmill some....hip is hurting today..don't think I will be able to get all the walking in I want to do today. Yesterday was my WI. 26 pounds gone from this ole bod. WooHoo! Hope everyone is have a good Monday. JasonsLea 11-06-2006, 02:39 PM Hi everyone! Welcome Freeda! Congrats to all who have lost! WI for me is tomorrow and I am so ready to see if writing every morsel down is working. My computer seems to have completely crashed on me but it's okay because I get my paycheck from Sprit Halloween this week so I can put it in the shop and I should be able to get it back within two weeks at the latest, virus free! YAY! CarebearsChris 11-06-2006, 02:44 PM I have to ask...what is Sprit Halloween?? Sorry to hear you have a sick computer. I am afraid mine is going to crash. It has been running funky. I have a friend who is going to look at it and get everything backed up then re-format for me. I think I am long over due. I have had this computer for 3 years now. If I had my wish it would be a new one but that isn't going to happen any time soon zephyr1820 11-06-2006, 02:45 PM Fresh from the Monday WI....lost 1.8 #. :cb: That brings my total to exactly 32 #. :cheer2: I hope all of your WIs this week go well. :) JasonsLea 11-06-2006, 02:54 PM Chris, Spirit Halloween is this Halloween shop that I worked out. It's seasonal and last week was our final week. Me and two of my friends worked there together to make some extra cash, which I'm happy I did otherwise I would be without a computer for lord knows how long! JasonsLea 11-06-2006, 02:54 PM Congratulations Cheryl! CarebearsChris 11-06-2006, 02:59 PM :dancer: Happy Dance Cheryl. Isn't it great when you can report a loss? I don't think I will ever get tired of it. Shari, thanks for the explaination. Glad you have the extra money for the computer hospital. :thanks1: shelliebellie 11-06-2006, 03:08 PM Go Zephyr!!! zephyr1820 11-06-2006, 03:28 PM Thanks for the support you guys. I just came from the meeting today, and our leader keeps telling us to make sure to be at the December 11th meeting. She has new WW program details to tell us about. Any of you who attend meetings heard anything about new program rules? andreaphilip3 11-06-2006, 04:34 PM awesome job guys!!!!! i actually am a weekend weigher as well when i do actually weigh myself. i havent been though. Christian 11-06-2006, 06:47 PM Right now I am having a bad 30 minutes wanting to eat...my chicken is in the oven so I am not gonna starve before I get it....wish my brain knew that  I will hold off by reading some articles on here, hope everyone else is doing good tonight and know that if I can stay away from the junk , so can you ;) nibs 11-06-2006, 08:21 PM Hey guys, I worked a long hard three nights this past weekend. I didn't get a whole lot of sleep today but the up side to that is I'm off for a week. Lots of cleaning to do around the house so I will still be busy. Cooked a meatloaf for supper and used extra lean beef so it wasn't too fattening. I had broccolli with it and I made mashed potatoes for Duane. I haven't exercised yet today but I will. I have been extremely busy. I have been helping with homework since 4 PM and Duane threw out his back this evening so I have been taking care of him. He's still on the floor in the living room. He's been there since 5 PM and it's now 8:45 PM. He is taking the day off work tomorrow and going to see the doctor I don't care what he says. Congrats ladies on some wonderful losses. I am hoping to stay to a meeting this week. I haven't stayed in a while now and I miss it. Hi ya andrea, Christian. I'll email you later again today. Here's to hoping everyone has a great OP day today and I'll see you a little later. Kim CarebearsChris 11-06-2006, 09:31 PM Oh how I can relate to the munchies and wanting to eat. I managed to stay within points...as long as I eat nothing more tonight. May just have to go to bed early so I don't. I really had to cut back at dinner tonight because of the munching I did today. It was all good stuff....popcorn, sf pudding. Guess I will go spend some time with the treadmill. nibs 11-06-2006, 11:27 PM Hi guys, Didn't make it on the treadmill tonight. I finally got Duane off the floor and into the spare room into bed. His back is in a terrible mess. He couldn't make it into our room because there are too many stairs and he's lucky he can shuffle his feet a little without falling on the floor. I have him drugged up now and a hot water bottle to his back....snoring like a baby now...;) I will probably do a little extra exercise wise tomorrow to make up for today. Hope everyone is having a great ON Plan day....:) Kim CarebearsChris 11-07-2006, 08:49 AM Kim, sorry to hear Duane has a problem with his back. It happens to me a lot. I had surgery on mine back in 1989. I thought for sure that would be the end of the back problems. It just took the pain to a higher level. And it hurts more often now. Last time I had an MRI I was told there is nothing more that can be done. My back is beyond help. Wonderful. So I do what I can on the good days and suffer on the bad days. Rosegarden 11-07-2006, 09:43 AM Wow - you ladies are doing great!!!!! I have a NSV today to tell about. I have on a pair of dress pants that haven't been off the hanger since 2002. WHOOO HOOO!!!!! I won't say they are comfortablely loose but they button without any cheater and I can bend in them (stiffly but I can bend). WHOO HOO!!!!! CarebearsChris 11-07-2006, 09:51 AM :carrot: :bravo: :woo: Way to go, Rose. That has to feel good. I wear a size 24 right now..and they are beginning to get loose. I should have been in a 26 when I started WW in September but I refused to buy anything new. It is nice to be abole to say they are getting loss. I had to buy a belt last week. I also have a pair of size 24 Chic jeans (chic runs about 1-2 sizes smaller than most jeans). I try them on every Friday. Each week I fit in them a little bit better. One of these days real soon I will be wearing them. Christian 11-07-2006, 09:53 AM Way to go Rose!!!!! :carrot: Kim- Hope your hubby is better this morning ;) Chris- How are you today?? I am doing really good, I am 1/2 pound away from losing all the weight I gined over the weekend and I dont weigh in until Thursday night, hopefully it is gone by then ;) Hope everyone has a super day  CarebearsChris 11-07-2006, 10:06 AM Christie I am sure that by Thursday you will have lost that 1/2 pound. I am having an ok day so far. It is rainy here today so I had to use my SAD (seasonal affective disorder) light. I have only had the light since Friday. Can't tell yet if it makes a difference or not. I have an appointment at 10. zephyr1820 11-07-2006, 01:26 PM Thanks for the support you guys. I just came from the meeting today, and our leader keeps telling us to make sure to be at the December 11th meeting. She has new WW program details to tell us about. Any of you who attend meetings heard anything about new program rules? Has anyone heard anything about this? :?: CarebearsChris 11-07-2006, 01:28 PM I don't do meetings, WW at home or WW online. So I know nothing. If anyone finds anything out I would love it if you share with me. shelliebellie 11-07-2006, 02:46 PM Wow - you ladies are doing great!!!!! Yay Rose!!! I'm soo happy for you!:congrat: What a great feeling, huh? It really helps you to stay motivated, doesn't it? Well, have a great day, and bask in your accomplishment! andreaphilip3 11-07-2006, 08:06 PM i dont go but i may start once the plan changes. nibs 11-07-2006, 08:06 PM Hey guys, Not long home from DH's doctor appointment. He had to go to the hospital to get an IM injection for pain and now he's on oral meds for pain, something for his stomach because the first ones are really hard on it, and Flexeril. I got him something to eat when we got home and then into his PJ's. He may be out for the night now...:( . I don't like it when he's not well. I have stayed OP today and when I get DS to bed I will get on the treadmill for a while. I can't wait until 10 PM to actually get some time for me :dizzy: . Congrats on any losses I missed and also for those NSV's. I will try tpost later AFTER I exercised...;) TTYL Kim Christian 11-07-2006, 08:42 PM Kim-Glad to hear that the hubby is home and has some medicine to keep him more comfortable and kudos to you on staying OP through all the stress...that in itself is awsome ;) nibs 11-08-2006, 10:49 AM Hi guys, I didn't get on the treadmill like I planned last night. I was too tired so I just curled up on the couch with a book and read for a while instead. I didn't cheat foodwise though so that is good. I stayed there until it was time to give DH his medication again at 12 am then I think I went to bed myself at 12:30 am. I am so tired this morning. I got up at 7 am to get DS off to school and I fell asleep on the couch again with my book and a coffee. I just got up a little while ago. I wish coffee could keep me awake. I am going to go now and get on the treadmill before something else interupts me. I have alot of work to do after lunch so I better get it done now. Chow for now, Kim andreaphilip3 11-08-2006, 12:55 PM HI GUYS, KIM ROUGH NIGHT HUH? IM SO SORRY! HOWS DH TODAY? BETTER? BL ON FOR 2 HRS TONIGHT!!! im so bummed bout pam.... i wanted her to be at the finale.... now i guess im rooting for kai from the red side and marty from blue. CarebearsChris 11-08-2006, 01:00 PM Can't wait for TBL tonight. Those who have been there are going up against those who have been doing the program at home. It is going to be interesting. Rosegarden 11-08-2006, 03:08 PM Blah - I have to work tonight so I won't see it I am SO FULL from lunch. I had a huge salad with tuna on top. It was yummy but does anyone else get sweet urges? I am not hungry but I feel like I should have something sweet. I'm going to drink this big glass of water in front of me and grab some sugar free gum and see if that cures the urge. At around 3 p.m., if I still am having it, maybe a cup of SF Swiss Miss cocoa might cure it. I miss my sugar goodies CarebearsChris 11-08-2006, 03:14 PM Sorry you will miss TBL. I love my DVR...I can set it to record a whole season if I want. The last 3 days I have had major munchies. I am thinking that the kettle popcorn 100 calorie packs is just sweet enough that it has me wanting to eat and eat. Monday I stayed within points. Tuesday I used 3 flex points. To soon to say what today is going to be. I think that I am going to lay off the kettle corn...but it is sooooo good. I am betting it should of on the taboo list. My fibromyalgia is flared up a bit too much for the treadmill  Maybe I can manage a few minutes on it. nibs 11-08-2006, 03:25 PM Hey guys, I actually did my 60 minutes on the treadmill today....and I am pooped. It's amazing how two days of not doing anything will get you so off track. I am going to try and not miss any days from now on. Maybe have one day of rest a week. DH is up and moving around a bit. Alot more than yesterday. But the meds are making him sleepy so whenever I look at him he is asleep. He didn't get up until 12:30 to have something to eat and by 1 pm he was asleep again. I woke him up at 3:30 pm and told him to take a shower and see if he can shake a few cobwebs out of his head and stay awake for a little while. I'd say right after supper he will be asleep again. Anyway, better go and make supper and get some homework and studying done with DS. TTYS Kim CarebearsChris 11-08-2006, 03:30 PM Kim You have motivated me to go get on the treadmill. With my fibromyalgia I can't do 60 minutes. But 5 is better than none. Christian 11-09-2006, 08:45 AM Hey guys! Sorry I didnt check in yesterday...I went to see family ;) Looks like Kim is busting a move on the treadmill (You go girl) and Chris, you are so right, 5 is better than none, I am sure your weigh in will go great this week! Well this will be day 5 on the South Beach induction and I am doing really well so far, I even passed on my aunts peanut butter pie and homeade jelly yesterday and packed my lunch to take there instead of being tempted to eat anything I wasnt supposed to, I have never been as proud of myself...I mean homeade peanut butter pie was something I could never resist before ;) I am sure that at day 14 I will be ready for a little fruit though, and I am only a month away from his Christmas party as of today, and I think it is really likely I can make my goal by then if I stay OP...hope everyone has a great day and know I am rooting for each of you :cheer: Rosegarden 11-09-2006, 10:16 AM Good Morning - kind of slow the last day or so here. How's everyone doing? Check in - let us know if you're doing GREAT, treading water or starting to bob under the water level. For myself, I'm starting to struggle a bit. I really need to take the time to get some meals cooked and preplan. The time crunch is a huge issue for my success at this plan. Today is WI and I know I wasn't committed as well as I should have been this week. I have Saturday off from all work and plans so I plan to use that day to recharge. Even the basic getting my water in has slipped. Sloppy habits will make this weight loss go slower at this point. Check in everybody! spanky 11-09-2006, 11:30 AM Just checking in here. We've been busy getting the house ready for our Home Visit this week and I haven't been on line. This is the last visit by our adoption counselor and it went really well! She thinks we're about 2 weeks away from getting a referral for our baby boy... Meanwhile, I did weights today and walked doggies about an hour--it's a lovely Indian Summer day here in Michigan and I have the day off! Have a great day everyone! Ipa shelliebellie 11-09-2006, 11:58 AM Good morning all! Just wanted to say hi and see how everyone is doing. Rose- if you are craving sweets, I know that a piece of fruit always stems the cravings for me. And just hop right back on the bandwagon, don't let the few bad days get you down. Chris- You should be proud that you aren't letting your injury slow you down. 5 minutes is better than nothing, and when you are doing better, you can just up the time. Nothing to be stressed about. Kimmy- You go girl! 60 minutes on the tread is something to be proud of! Keep up the good work! Christie- That is so awesome that you were able to say no to your temptations! I know how hard it can be when the food is staring you in the face, saying "eat me, you'll love it", but you were able to walk away feeling good about yourself for staying on your plan. You'll be able to hit your goal by the Christmas party for sure, no doubt about it. Ipa- I hope the best for you and your soon-to-be new addition. I hope everything goes well with the rest of the proceedings. As for me, my sister's injury was better yesterday, so we spent 70 minutes in the Gym, 35 on treadmill,10 on bike, and 20 on weights. And I am firm in my resolve to get a few "extra" workouts in the mornings w/ the hubby. Worked out this morning for 30 min. I am so very happy, but my body doesn't feel any lighter this week. Boo, I was really hoping for a good weight loss. Oh well, have a great day every one, the weekend is just around the corner!!! Rosegarden 11-09-2006, 02:46 PM OUCH - that WI was painful - I gained 1 1/4 lbs this week. So I volunteered to take the Weekly Planner for our meeting home this week. One person a week takes the planner home and writes their week down. It gives you incentive to write everything down and allows others to see what you are doing. Other weeks I may have not done that but I need to get totally back on track. It took me 2 weeks to lose that much weight and one week to put it back on and I know I didn't overeat that much. I figure it's a couple weeks rolled up to catch up to me. How's everyone else doing? Christian 11-09-2006, 02:58 PM Hang in there Rose, I was just where you are last week with my gain and it took 2 weeks to lose the weight I gained in the firstplace, just remember that since we are woman, our bodys fluctuate water, with no fault of our own, it may just be that ;) andreaphilip3 11-09-2006, 10:26 PM hi guys hang in there! nibs 11-09-2006, 11:39 PM Hey guys, I know exactly what you mean. A day or so of not watching what you put into your mouth, not drinking your water, or even not getting in the exercise can really throw you off. I had a bad week like that last week and I didn't bother to weigh in because of it. Now this week I was really good and I exercised 5 days out of 7 and I lost whatever I gained last week plus 1 pound. So having the 1 pound loss tonight made me happy. Hopefully I can get another pound or two off by next weigh in. DH is feeling a whole lot better now but you know men....he's milking it for everything it's got. But that's OK....I'll put up with it. He is starting to do a few things around here again. DS is angry with me because he's grounded and of course it's my fault and he hates me....he'll get over it.;) I got in another 60 minutes on the treadmill today so I'm proud of that. I want to do at least 5 days a week but if I can get 7 I will. Anyway, better get going now. TTYL Kim Rosegarden 11-10-2006, 08:36 AM Kim - I am so proud of you and your exercise. Way to make it all work. Dust yourself off and get back on program! Glad your DH is getting better. DS - ha ha ha ha - been there, know exactly what you're going through. Christian - thanks for all the positives. It's really helped me out this week. So how's the South Beach going? Do you like it? I still think I would miss my carbs and fruit too much to even think about it. ShellieBellie - I just looked at your totals - you're doing great!!!! And here I am looking at your exercise and your goals and I'm in awe. I know I just need to kick it in the butt and get going but It's just hard to motivate the exercise part. Yes, I know this program needs exercise - keep posting about your exercise routines everyone, it gives me some needed guilt and encouragement that you all find time for it in your busy lives too. IPA!!! Wasn't it a GORGEOUS day yesteday? I believe the good lord gave it to us to try to carry us through the upcoming winter. I did a mental imaging of the sun and the blue sky and will carry it through the next week or so with the rain and snow combo forecasts Carebear Chris - how's this week going for you? Did you get some exercise in? The Myalgia must be hard to get that in. See another incentive that I CAN GET MY EXERCISE IN if you guys are all doing it. Andrea - how's it going? I see you pop in and out of here. Still struggling? Let us know if we can help. Have a good Friday everybody! CarebearsChris 11-10-2006, 10:48 AM Rose I haven't felt up to walking this week. I am hoping that I can get back on track today. Thanks for asking. shelliebellie 11-10-2006, 11:41 AM Morning everybody. Feelin' like crap today, WI is tomorrow and I KNOW I didn't lose any weight. It's bummin' me out because I worked really hard this week. I know that sometimes it takes the body extra time to show results, but I just want the weight off now!!! Sorry guys, I just needed to whine for a minute, I'll let you know tomorrow how everything went. spanky 11-10-2006, 03:25 PM Hiya! Got a 30min walk in today. My goal is to at least walk 30 minutes EVERYday, NO MATTER WHAT. Hovering a little below the 140 mark and determined to hang on to that downturn over the weekend. I'll be working 3rd shift and trying not to morph into eating late--that's always deadly for me! Today being the 10th, I'm reminding myself that there about 3 weeks left to the month and my goal is still to lose 5 lb. Gotta hang in there, gotta gotta GOTTA!! Have a good weekend! Ipa Christian 11-10-2006, 03:35 PM Ipa- You can do it :carrot: My goal is to get to 139 so you are already at a goal I would love to meet  spanky 11-11-2006, 05:00 PM Hi-- Doin' it!!! Got my 30 min. in today too! I want that 5lb mini goal so bad I can taste it! Happy Saturday, Ipa:D Christian 11-11-2006, 06:34 PM And you shall have it Ipa ;) Rosegarden 11-11-2006, 08:19 PM Yes you should have it Ipa~~~ Feels good to walk the dogs in this crisp weather doesn't it? Rosegarden 11-12-2006, 08:52 AM Weekends are slower here. Where is everybody? Ipa glad to see you here and Christian - you changed your avatar - who is that in your picture? Up early and getting ready for church. I didn't get that exercise video in last night as ended up going to the HS musical. It was Cinderella and so much fun. I did get all but one dairy of my 8 Healthy's in yesterday. Don't know why I'm struggling with the oils and dairy still. How's your weekend going? CarebearsChris 11-12-2006, 11:54 AM My weekend is very slow. It is DH's Sunday to work. So he has been gone most of the weekend. Good thing about him working on Sunday he gets the following Saturday and Sunday off. YAY. Today is WI day. I have another 3 pounds forever gone. That makes my first 10%. Since I am doing WW at home with out the help of the offical WW programs I got my 10% keychain from Ebay. It should be here Monday or Tuesday. 30 pounds forever gone in 10 weeks. :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: Hope everyone is having a great weekend. spanky 11-12-2006, 05:53 PM Hmmmm, I can tell around the boards here that we're having a pretty good weekend. That's SO encouraging! Chris--I've only lost 5lb so far, but am sure that I can tell the difference. How great must it feel to have lost 10%?! Hope you get that keychain in GOLD!:D Today I got in 45min and 3 miles with my tiniest [and fastest] doggy. That would be "Spanky the Flying Dog". She's a little 10 pound Irish Jack who runs around me in a 15 foot circle [the length of her leash] every step of the way. Tireless and enthusiastic--the perfect walking companion. They announced a "Health Incentive" at work this week. If you can stay within 2 pounds of your starting weight from now until New Years Day, you get $125.00. I'm definitely going to give it a shot. Tomorrow is Weigh In. 130's HERE I COME!!! :flow1: Ipa [and Spanky] Christian 11-12-2006, 10:45 PM WAY to GO Chris!!!! :cheer: Rose- Yes that is me, it is from my KOPS ( Keep Off Pounds Sencibly) graduation this past April, it was funny that my daughter said I needed to change the old one and that is the other pic I had available ;) How did everyone do over the weekend??? Rosegarden 11-13-2006, 12:41 PM WHOO HOO Christian! You look great! CarebearsChris 11-13-2006, 01:57 PM Thanks for all the congrats on my most recent loss. I am celebrating a NSV today. I have been wearing a size 26 jeans. I had to buy a belt to wear with them because they are too loss. Not that they would fall off but they don't ride where they need to. I have had a pair of size 26 Chic jeans that are more like a 24 or 22. I tried them on today and they fit. They are a tad on the tight side but not bad. YAY. I am so happy. I never thought I would get into them. Vanessa_40 11-13-2006, 02:06 PM Hi Everyone, I'm a bit late since i just joined you all the other day but here's my goals for this month 1-Run 5 days a week 2-Lift atleast 2 days 3-Journal EVERYTHING i eat and drink 4-Drink 128ozs of water a day 5-Post M-F 6-Stay within my points 7- Say something postive about myself everyday. Vanessa Vanessa_40 11-13-2006, 02:07 PM Thanks for all the congrats on my most recent loss. Congradualtions :carrot: :carrot: CarebearsChris 11-13-2006, 02:10 PM Thanks, Vanessa Those are great goals. spanky 11-13-2006, 02:48 PM Hi! Had a good weigh in--down THREE pounds!!! Everybody else is looking like they had a good weekend too. Gotta go--off to work. Ipa CarebearsChris 11-13-2006, 02:55 PM Congrats on the loss, Ipa. Christian 11-13-2006, 03:19 PM Way to goal IPA  How I long to see 130 anything on my scale..... ;) Christian 11-13-2006, 03:19 PM Thanks Rose ;) Vanessa_40 11-13-2006, 06:52 PM Hi Everyone, Ok..i got in all my water today..and i have stayed within my points.. Here's my workout for today Standing Leg Abductions 3x10 Barbell Rows 30+bar 3z10 Skullcrushers 30+bar 3x10 Lateral Raises 10# 3x8 Squats 20.5 dumbbells 3x10 Lunges 20.5 dumbbells 3x8 Hammer Curls 20.5 dumbbells 3x10 Abs Bicycles 3x10 Straight leg crunch -3x15 Ob. Crossovers 3x20 CarebearsChris 11-13-2006, 07:38 PM Wow Vanessa that looks like a great workout to me. But than again most do. I have fibromyalgia and arthritis so about all I do is walk on the treadmill. I need 3 more pounds to make my Thanksgiving Goal. I only have one more weigh in before Thanksgiving so I have to make this week a good one. Rosegarden 11-14-2006, 07:35 AM How's it going everyone? Getting closer and closer to my weigh in. With doing the tracker, I still find myself struggling to get those healthy oils and milk in. Today I'm going to take a glass of milk with me for lunch. It's points I don't think about first and I guess I need to do that. I can tell you that I do not feel any thinner so far and I'm 5 days into the new week. Usually by this point if I've been on track, I can feel a difference. It will be okay. I guess I'm just a little antsy to get back on track. How's your week going? Christian 11-14-2006, 09:57 AM Wow Vanessa, girl your workout puts me to shame ;) Great job.. Rose- My day is going just wonderful so far, the scale jumped down yet another pound and I am getting closer and closer to my goal on the SBD, it has not been easy though, but I have not had to workout 3 hours a day or anyhting to see results, well truthfully I havent had to workout at all ;) I will start back to that as soon as I am out of phase one though... I know you will do great at weigh in, keep us all informed  CarebearsChris 11-14-2006, 10:44 AM My week is going good so far. Yesterday I was out and about running errands and getting groceries. Have to go to the grocery store again today. I need to get my butt on the treadmill. I haven't in a while. Hope all is well withe everyone shelliebellie 11-14-2006, 11:38 AM Rose- I know what you mean about feeling yourself lose weight, but sometimes you don't even notice that you've lost. I know you will do well at WI, but don't get discouraged because you aren't feeling thinner. CarebearsChris 11-14-2006, 11:43 AM Oh I know that feeling real well. I feel like I haven't lost a pound even thou the scales say I have lost 29 pounds. I think I am might feel like I have lost something if someone would say..you look like you have lost weight. But that moment hasn't happened yet. I think since I started out at 294 it is going to take more than 29 pounds for that to happen. Oh well as long as the number on the scales keeps going down I am happy Christian 11-14-2006, 11:46 AM Hang in there Chris...you will notice soon, everyone else does ;) trust me they see it even when we dont  CarebearsChris 11-14-2006, 11:52 AM Thanks, Christie. I guess it isn't about how others see me. It is about how I feel. I do feel better with 29 pounds forever gone. I have more energy and don't loss my breath as much when doing simple tasks around the house. I really am not looking at this as diet. It is a change in lifestyle and lossing weight is secondary to that. Yes, my new lifestyle has me lossing weight and walking on the treadmill. But it is really about being healthier. Vanessa_40 11-14-2006, 12:25 PM Good Afternoon Ladies, I only have a few minutes before i leave for my WI but i wanted to see how you all were doing Rose- I have a hard time getting my milk in..i usually have 1/2 cup of cottage cheese or yogurt. Christian-Congradulations on the pouns loss :carrot: Hi Shellie and Chris :D :D Well i'm happy to say that i have already got my workout done for the day. 6 mile run at the lake. I'm off for my WI...wish me luck :) Vanessa shelliebellie 11-14-2006, 12:45 PM Morning Vanessa, Nice workout!!! I am definitely(sp?) not a runner, but I really applaud those who do. spanky 11-14-2006, 01:37 PM Hi, Just finished 50 minutes of Slim in Six's "Ramp It Up!". It's gonna be a good day--gotta run for work. Ipa CarebearsChris 11-14-2006, 01:47 PM Wow Ipa. What a work out!!! You have motivated me to get my butt on the treadmill. Can't do the type of workout you do...I would end up in bed for days. Vanessa_40 11-14-2006, 03:04 PM Hi Ladies, Well i'm back from my WI..i lost 5.8 pounds..i wore the lightest clothes i had to WI...lol.. Ipa- Great workout...you have a wonderful day :D Shellie- I hope you are having a great day as well :D Vanessa CarebearsChris 11-14-2006, 03:07 PM WOW Vanessa great WI. That has to feel good.:carrot: Christian 11-14-2006, 03:13 PM Go Vanessa Go :cheer: nibs 11-14-2006, 06:01 PM Hey guys, What's up? It's been a few days since I posted here. I have been so busy with DH bad back, DS acting up, and working nights. I hope I can get back OP tomorrow. I have been doing terrible since last weigh in. Here lately when I weigh in I seem to treat myself for a week before I stop. I really need to stop this behaviour and start losing weight. Hope everyone is having a great OP day and Congrats to the ones who lost and keep on trucking to the ones who are struggling.:) Kim CarebearsChris 11-14-2006, 06:11 PM Hey Kim. I am having a great OP day. Hubby has to take some automative tests tonight so it is just me for dinner. (Hubby is going to eat at McDonald's --YUCK). Yesterday and today I have been keeping busy. When I am busy I don't want to eat. It is the days that I have nothing to do and am bored that I have to the hard time with. Hope you can get back OP..but why wait till tomorrow. Can't you start now, making sure you make good choices the rest of the day. spanky 11-15-2006, 07:34 PM Another day, another workout. Managed to squeeze in the Slim in Six video into a really busy day. Saw the adoption counselor, cleaned the kitchen, started laundry, ordered the Thanksgiving meal for next week...came to work. My MIL gets a little dicey about my having the meal catered--like I'm somehow cheating or something. But I work full time and will have worked through the night before Thanksgiving and then have to come home, catch a nap, and serve 7 for dinner. Yikes. Yes, it's catered, dangitt!!! As it is, I have to make a separate meal for my vegetarian BIL and wife..... Chris--my DH had McD's for lunch in the car after our appointment. Smelled disgusting, so I must be eating right this week! Anyway, today I'm OP and hanging in there. Wishing the rest of us a great day too! Ipa Christian 11-15-2006, 07:52 PM I just had to post this....found it while I was cleaning...I may just have to put in on the fridge as a ( Never go back ) pic ;) 60 pounds gone forever!!! CarebearsChris 11-16-2006, 12:25 AM Wow Christie. You sure have come a long way. Way to go Christian 11-16-2006, 08:06 AM Thanks Chris :D Rosegarden 11-16-2006, 09:57 AM Weigh In today - I'll report afterwards Dark and gloomy here - wow was it hard not to eat after I got home after work. I think the only redeeming grace was the fact that I weigh in today and I've worked so hard to stay OP. This weather has been torture on my mood and I'm struggling. Bear with me people. Weather and stress of Thanksgiving and so many people for dinner is going to push me hard. I know I can do it and I won't cave but I will be stopping by here frequently for some pick me ups. CarebearsChris 11-16-2006, 10:14 AM Rose Weather is dark and gloomy here too. Raining real hard at the moment. Wishing you (and everyone) well getting thru Thanksgiving. I hadn't stressed over it at all until I counted the points for what I was planning on cooking. 21 points!!!! I am rethinking the menu now. It is just DH and I so I can get away with. DH said since I was counting points to cook what I needed to to stay on points. Gotta love his support. Vanessa_40 11-16-2006, 11:02 AM Good Morning Ladies, Hope you all had a nice evening. It was a bit stormy here but thankfully all had passed by the time i left for my run.Today my workout was a 6.16 mile run. Chris- Sounds like you have a wonderful husband Rose- I know what you mean. The weather gets me down too sometimes. Good Luck on your WI today :) Christian- WTG...:) :) Ipa-You have had a busy day already. Don't feel bad about having Thanksgiving catered..i'm sure a lot of people would do it if they could :) I was thinking of changing my WI. I don't like weighing in at 12:15..i would like to have a morning time. I'm going to go to the WW site and find an earlier time. You all have a great day :) Vanessa shelliebellie 11-16-2006, 11:45 AM Hey everybody! Staying OP pretty well (only the past few days, though) and doing my workouts every day, so I hope the scale goes down this week. Christie- You look sooo good now, you have done such a wonderful job! Rose- How did the WI go? Fingers crossed! Vanessa- Sometimes changing your WI up really gives you that extra incentive to do well, because it's almost like starting fresh. Plus, if you WI in the morning, you won't have all that food and water in your system to weigh you down. Oh yeah, I am super impressed by your workout. You go chickie! Vanessa_40 11-16-2006, 12:12 PM Hi Shellie, I'm thinking of doing Saturday at 8am..that way i can go weigh..have a protein bar then go running. Weighing in at 12:15 messes up my whole day. Vanessa_40 11-16-2006, 12:23 PM Good Afternoon Ladies, I posted this on another thread but i wanted you all to read this too I have to tell you that WW is the best thing i could have done. See after losing down to 140 from 220 i started weight lifting and eating clean and my calories were WAY to low. I got down to 121 then my body revolted and i went up to 130. I couldn't lose the weight to save my life. It just hung on. Then i joined WW and discovered i needed to eat more. Something i was scared to do. I thought if i ate a carb or cheese i'd get fat. I have learned you have to eat to feed your body but you have to eat the right kinds of food from ALL the food groups. Sometimes when i tell people...family that i'm on WW they look at me funny and say you are so small why are you doing that..and i tell them for the wonderful friends and support i get here online and at my meeting...something i wasn't getting from them.. Thanks for listening...you all are great.. Vanessa Christian 11-16-2006, 02:45 PM Way to go Vanessa....You are an inspiration to all of us as well  :encore: shelliebellie 11-16-2006, 03:49 PM Vanessa, you are awesome!!! Now you need to put up some before and after pictures! Rosegarden 11-16-2006, 04:02 PM Yes - I would love to see some before and after pictures!!! Drumroll people!!!!! I LOST 3 LBS!!!!!! WHOO HOOO!!!!!! All the tracking and going back to the basics worked. Just like it's supposed to. No more figuring it out in my head. I write it ALL DOWN!!!!! Christian - wow - what a difference. I notice that you only gave us an upper shot - where's the rest of the pic? I have the perfect before picture that I will share when I lose some more weight. It was certainly not flattering. It was one of the final straws that brought me back to WW. Now do you think I can lose 2 more pounds before next weigh in? Thanks everyone for your support! CarebearsChris 11-16-2006, 04:07 PM Way to go Rose. I have gotten back to basics this week too. I can only hope to have a pay off as good as yours. Christian 11-16-2006, 05:23 PM Rose- That was all that was in the pic...I never liked them to take a whole pic...I will try to find one for ya though.. WAY TO ROCK OFF 3 MORE POUNDS!!!!!! :cheer: :cheer: shelliebellie 11-16-2006, 05:29 PM Go Rose!! Woohoo! Christian 11-16-2006, 10:29 PM My weigh in was a success as well....2.25 pounds gone :D Rosegarden 11-16-2006, 11:39 PM Congrats Christian!!!! You will be so beautiful in that Christmas dress! CarebearsChris 11-17-2006, 12:24 AM Way to go, Christie. shelliebellie 11-17-2006, 12:22 PM Christie, you are such an inspiration! You make me actually BELIEVE that I can achieve my goal. Thank you Rosegarden 11-17-2006, 01:28 PM Hello everyone - how's it going for everyone? Had a good night last night and a good day so far. Planning setting up a game plan tonight for the next 7 days. Then I don't have to think about what I'm eating. Just do it and I'm done. I loved my meeting yesterday. The leader took slips of paper and lined them up on a banquet table with names of traditional T'day foods. You were supposed to grab a paper plate and take what foods you have planned to eat. After you got your food, you turned the slips over and the points were on the back. You listed the foods and points on your plate to see what total you have. Mine was 30 pts!!!! Some people had 54 pts!!!! YIKES. The good thing about that exercise is that each item was a full serving of something. My game plan is to half some of the things I don't want as badly and to slim some of the recipes down. That's where I'm thankful that I am the cook this year along with my SIL who is on WW too. I'm holding all my 35 flex points for T-day and the day after. I'll do fine. It was a great exercise and I loved it. Vanessa_40 11-17-2006, 04:26 PM Hi Ladies, Wow..Congradulation on your losses...that's great.. Just wanted to pop in for a minute so you all know i'm still kicking. Tomorrow my WI day since i'm changing it from Tuesday to Saturday morning. I know it's not going to be much.. Have agreat weekend.. See you all Monday Vanessa CarebearsChris 11-18-2006, 09:54 AM OH what a week. My computer was having major issues, so a friend of mine reformatted it. My CD burner wasn't working right so I couldn't back anything up. So I lost everything but it is so worth it. Computer is as good as new. I have stayed OP all week. Haven'g walked as much as I would have liked to. Tomorrow is the day of truth...WI day. I don't think I will make my Thanksgiving goal, but you never know. Hope everyone is having an OP day. Rosegarden 11-18-2006, 10:58 AM I got a walk in last night - my dog has already gotten used to my walks and loves it when the IPod comes out. Good for both of us huh? Off to go bridesmaid dress shopping with daughter and the future bride and her mom this afternoon and then work. This week is going to be real dicey as far as food goes Christian 11-18-2006, 12:05 PM Way to go on sticking with your programs ladies...You are doing AWSOME!!! Today is my final day on phase one so I will let you all know my final #s in the afternoon Sunday...Have an Thankful day everyone  CarebearsChris 11-18-2006, 06:06 PM Sounds like fun, Rose. I haven't got on the treadmill yesterday or today. My back is hurting again. Hopefully later I can at least do a couple of minutes on it. JasonsLea 11-19-2006, 12:33 PM Hi everyone. Down to 239 and doing well. TOM started on Friday but so far, my cravings haven't gone out of wack. Put the comp in the shop on Friday so I should be back in a week or so. Christian 11-19-2006, 05:01 PM Way to go on your losses Lea :bravo: Well guys it is final, I ended up losing 9 pounds overall in the 14 days of induction of South beach,,,,I am not going to phase 2 yet though, I am going to continue it until Thanksgiving and then take that day off and go right back to it for another week till his Christmas party...I think once the party is over I may go back to points but the SB experience has changed the way I look at what I eat and to make healthier choices in the future, Hope everyone is having a good weekend, My hubby is putting up our tree with my youngest and well....life just looks a little sweeter here when that happens ;) JasonsLea 11-20-2006, 10:03 AM Thanks Christian! Oooo I hope we can put up a tree this year. I LOVE CHRISTMAS!!! shelliebellie 11-20-2006, 12:30 PM Morning everyone. Didn't really work out this weekend, I felt a little lazy, but I lost 1.5 lbs at WI. YAY!!! I'm really concerned about this week, though. Going to my Aunts house, and the house is always FILLED with junk food. Plus, TOM will be here any day now, so that's one more strike against me. I really want to do well. JasonsLea 11-20-2006, 01:32 PM WTG Shellie! Christian 11-20-2006, 01:46 PM Hang in there Shellie, You have what it takes ;) Way to go on your loss :bravo: shelliebellie 11-20-2006, 01:49 PM Thanks guys, I think I'm just a little discouraged, but I don't want to go into this holiday with a defeatest attitude, because then it's like I'm giving myself the go-ahead to do poorly. shelliebellie 11-20-2006, 01:49 PM I CAN do it!!! Christian 11-20-2006, 02:08 PM Better yet Shellie....YOU WILL do it  Rosegarden 11-20-2006, 08:47 PM Okay - I pulled the recipe for pumpkin mousse - I'm giving it a trial run tomorrow CarebearsChris 11-22-2006, 10:39 AM Good morning. How is everyone on the day before Thanksgiving?? Rose, you will have to let us know how the pumpkin mousse is. It sounds good but I don't know if I could give up pumpkin pie for it. I am making a crustless pumpkin pie today. One piece of "pie" and cool whip free is one point. I weigh in at home (doing the program on my own) so I did step on the scales this morning and I have made my Thanksgiving goal of 262. YAY!!! Anyone travelling for the holiday? It will be just me and hubby having a nice quiet day. My best friend is thinking about joining WW. I think I will join her for at least a few meetings to see what changes have been made to the program. Rosegarden 11-22-2006, 08:24 PM Sorry I did not like the pumpkin mouse at all and I like pumkin pie Just sitting for a couple minutes before I mop another floor. Lots still to do but I'm not stressing yet so it's okay Have a great night everybody CarebearsChris 11-22-2006, 11:19 PM I love pumpkin pie but pumpkin mousse just even sound good to me. I made the jello mousse thingie they had on TBL last week. Now that was good. I really enjoyed that. Hmmm that reminds me there is one left in the refrig and I have 2 points left for the day. I hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving Christian 11-23-2006, 11:14 AM Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!! Enjoy your family and friends this fine day...and dont forget to bless someone else so that they have a Happy Thanksgiving too...whether it is just a smile you throw there way or help with their day, God Bless you all ;) JasonsLea 11-25-2006, 12:47 PM How was everyone's Thanksgiving? I missed the Peanuts special and I didn't have any homemade sweet potato pie so now a part of me is missing. :( CarebearsChris 11-26-2006, 12:10 AM We don't eat sweet potato pie but I usually do a casserole. This year I decided we didn't need it. I thought I would miss it. Instead I made butternut squash and put a bit of Splenda brown sugar in it. I thought it was great but DH didn't. He has asked that make the casserole for Christmas. I am hoping to talk him out it...his diabetes could do without it too. We had a nice quiet day...just me and DH. Got the Christmas lights up...something I have done in a couple of years. Friday it was back to work for him and there was no way I was going shopping. JasonsLea 11-26-2006, 10:41 AM Sweet potato cassarole? Sounds yummy. Never had any but I saw this nice recipe for one. I just love sweet potato pie. I can live off it! andreaphilip3 11-27-2006, 01:10 PM hi guys! i missed you! thought id pop in bc im starting over tomm for good this time!! kim we can do it!(((( ))) andreaphilip3 11-28-2006, 12:25 PM whats up guys? im starting today....got alot to lose! shelliebellie 11-28-2006, 12:46 PM You can do it Andrea! Try not to focus on the big picture, you will just get overwhelmed. Little goals seem to be more attainable, and make sure you have little mini-goal rewards!!! CarebearsChris 11-28-2006, 12:51 PM I have to agree with Shellie. Little goals are so much more obtainable. If I were to look at the big picture I would give up quicker than quick. I had 140 pounds to loss. But doing the challenges and smaller goals has worked wonders. Halloween, TBL and Thanksgiving challenges has managed to help me loss 34 pounds. Next up is the New Years challenge. Baby steps. andreaphilip3 11-28-2006, 01:56 PM hthanks shellie:) hey chris thanks girl youre doin awesome! CarebearsChris 11-28-2006, 02:22 PM Thanks, Andrea. One pound at a time. andreaphilip3 11-28-2006, 04:29 PM chelle you lost 140 lbs?? wow! congrats!!!! Rosegarden 11-28-2006, 07:32 PM Wow I'm finally back on track for a day. That was tough to break that cycle. Anyone else doing WW online along with meetings? I did the 2 week trial and then decided to do another month to see if I like it. I like the online tracker now that I'm finally learning how to use it. Going to go out for a walk in a bit and get my challenge work out in. What's happening with everyone else? CarebearsChris 11-28-2006, 11:28 PM Hey Rose. I am going to do meetings after the first of the year with my best friend, Dawn. She wants to start after the holidays and I can understand that. I, on the other hand, want to start 12/10. Rumor has it that some major changes are going to happen to the plan. I guess I will continue like I have been, doing the plan on my own, and go after the holidays with Dawn. I know I can't afford meetings for long so I will wait till Dawn is ready. Rosegarden 11-29-2006, 09:02 AM Chris - I didn't think I could afford it either but I've found a way and the online seemed a bit pricey to me also but I found a way for that too. I do not have any expensive habits like smoking, I do not go out for lunch or dinner much and I'm about as frugal as they come. I love to coupon to see how much I can actually save every month. But I decided that I work two jobs over 200 hours a month and do tons of volunteer work, so I am worth the $48 a month for meetings (we do not have the monthly pass here) and the $12.95 for online (I may drop this in a month or so but I'm trying it for a bit). I am cooking at home and planning my meals. In the long run, I am saving big money by not buying the convenience foods nor stopping for fast food. I am worth it. I'm a little nervous to weigh in tomorrow. It has been a rough 2 weeks. It was fine up until Friday after Thanksgiving and then all that company put me into a tailspin. I finally got back on track yesterday so that was 4 full days of out of control. I know to pick myself back up and it will be okay. It's not a race but I so wanted to be at 10% for the New Year. I guess if I kick butt and really try to keep my exercise up I still may be able to make that goal. Keeping my fingers crossed and my attitude in check. It will be okay. I'll do my final November check in after weigh in tomorrow CarebearsChris 11-29-2006, 10:43 AM Rose, I do have an expensive habit....bowling. DH bowls 4 times a week and I bowl 3. One league will be over in a couple of weeks. YAY. I talked to DH last night and I can use the money we usually spend on that league and go WW. I guess I will wait for Dawn and go the first of the year...although I am dieing to learn what is coming 12/10. Good luck with your WI. CarebearsChris 11-29-2006, 10:45 AM I may not be here as much the next couple of days. A dear friend, Mikie, who bowled on DH's Wednesday night team passed away Monday. A little over a year ago he was found to have prostrate cancer. Prostrate was removed and he was told they got it all. He had monthly visits to the doctors. Late March or early April, he started complaining of a back ache. The cancer had spread and was all up and down his spine. He was pretty much told it was fatal but they tried experimental chemo. The chemo weakened his heart and about a month ago he had a heart attack. Doctors told him he could no longer undergo chemo and that it was just a matter of time. Visitation is this morning and funeral is tomorrow. Mikie did everything for his wife. He spoiled her and she will be the first to admit it. I saw them both 2 weeks ago at the gas station. Mikie was teaching Linda how to pump gas. Even though we all knew this day was coming Linda is taking it real hard. Another wife of a bowler on that team and I are going to see to it that Linda eats today (we have been told she hasn't eaten since Monday morning and she is diabetic). All we can do now is to be there for Linda and help her as much as we can. andreaphilip3 11-29-2006, 11:38 AM hi gys! whats up? yest went really well and today is more of the same so far. im not sweatin dinner tonight i will eat it and move on tomm(a big NSV for me) Rosegarden 11-30-2006, 11:35 AM Weigh IN today - Will let you all know the damage and put November to rest for me and look forward to December. The last 3 days have been great. You know I cannot believe how much better I feel when I eat right and drink my water. It's amazing. Why on earth do we revert back ? andreaphilip3 11-30-2006, 01:25 PM gl rose! i dunno why we do it. i felt better in just the day and a half io was op and today i feel icky bc of all the sugar i arte last night at a party.
