Default Have you tried the Honey Crisp apples?

If not, please do so....they are delicious! I love apples of almost any kind, but these are the best I've had in a long time. DH and kiddos can't get enough of them. They're more pricey than some of the others, but well worth it!

Unless they are tart apples I don't like them so I haven't tried them.

Honeycrisps are a tart and sweet apple. Not as tart as granny smith, but more sweet with abit of pucker. They remind me of lemonade (not the flavor, but the sweetsour part).

I hate mushy apples, and love apples that are very crisp, and especially those with sour and sweet tones. My absolute favorites are:

Honey Crisp
Braeburn
Pink Lady
Cameo
Gala (sometimes the texture is excellent, sometimes not)
Fuji
Granny Smith

In general, it seems that the the australian varieties are more crisp and sweet-tart

They have a little bit of a bite, but not as tart as a Granny Smith. Buy just one and try it, you might be surprised!

Amber, I noticed the prices of them jumping all over the place here.....Last week I paid $1.69/pound for them, this week the grocery store wanted $2.99 a pound!!! I'm going to try the local farmers market next weekend to see what they're charging. It's crazy!!

Had to go check these out. I have never really liked apples, at least not a plain one and most certainly not with the skin on. But boy you were not kidding, these are delicious and well worth the $2.28 per pound. Great taste, great texture, will have no problem getting fruit in now.
