Hi all.

I am addcited to frozen yogurt type ice cream. I live in NYC and its called tasti-d-lite. It comes in tons of flavors, etc. The problem is that right now, i can't control it once i start eating it.

I usually am quite disciplined. In the past 18 months, I've lost 25 pounds, gave up alcohol, and have made much needed changes to my eating habits (gave up my 7 a day diet coke habit). Anyway, I really struggling with this one. It really affects my mood and productivity, as well as my weight. Any suggestions or motivation? Thanks for reading this.

Hi Claudel,
Welcome to the board. I don't know how to move your post but I know a lot of long time "Sugarbusters" are available to help on the Weekly Support link. So what I say is check out from the library or buy the Sugarbusters book. I did this the end of June and went "cold turkey" off sugar.

Not only have I lost 22 lbs so far but I gained an incredible control over my appetite that I have never had before. So you have hit on the right group.

P.s. I miss ice cream so I substitute plain no fat yogurt with fresh or frozen fruit; some 2 % milk; I was throwing in artificial sweetener like Nutrisweet or Splenda at the beginning (not now);
blend in blender til smoothe & then throw in some ice cubes and make a frozen smoothie. It really helps with the cravings.

Our mediator has just reached her goal after 1 1/2 years and from I think 294 lbs. She is a real inspiration and source of motivation.

We all know the pain of where you are and are here to help.

Look forward to hearing more from you.
