Here's carry over from the Sept. thread---

JM- How did the marathon go?????:running:

Evette- Size 5! WOW!! My thigh probably isn't even a 5!!:D

Shannon- Glad the scale is finally moving for you!!! I really think that you can make the 30 lbs. by your birthday!!

Jenni- Wanna come clean my house too?????;)

Michelle- Super job on passing up the bad foods. Feels good doesn't it?!?

Carla- Welcome to our little group!!

Lisa- Here's some :dust: to get you through the weekend.

I did good on our date night Friday. Had shrimp and veggies on the grill, a glass of wine with dinner and one beer at the bar. I drank diet coke after that. We had a wonderful evening. Last night though I kind of blew it, didn't plan for dinner and ended up ordering pizza. I had 2 pieces, which is better than what I would have had before. Sucking down lemon water today.

Have a great day chickies!!

Thanks girls--Don't know why the difference but I'm not gonna stress on it either. Still at 159 this AM at home so that's what I need to focus on. Blew it last night--took the kids to Gattiland with some friends and ate pizza--of course. Again though--back to how much our eating has changed since LAWL. Normally I would/could have eaten a LOT more. In hindsight it wasn't too bad. Started off with a HUGE salad and had 2 small slices and a breadstick. Compared to a year ago that was nuthin! Today I am back on track and drinking hot lemon water as I type.

Deb--love the photo album!!! You look absolutely terrific, and now glowingly terrific! Times like this I regret hiding from the camera. Sounds like you did great on your night out--WTG.

Lisa--another day girl.

Carla--welcome!

Congrats to all the losers. Welcome to the newbies. Let's put the weekend behind us (those that are bad over the weekend anyway) and have a POP week.

Hello everyone,

My goodness, October already! I just had one thought...We are getting really close to the busy holiday season. Come up with your plan of attack now so that you will still be successful no matter what.

I had another crazy experience at the COD on Saturday. I have just decided that this group of counselors really don't have a clue! I saw in my folder that it said in red letter "Motivate Client". Of course it wasn't the one that I had saw last and honestly since I have been going, I have never seen this lady. So what I am going to do is, only go to weigh in once and that will be on Saturdays because I don't work on weekends and I can tell if the WI is more accurate. Their scale never matches mine and I was down 1.8 which I was happy about, but I just wasn't sure it was a real loss. If we aren't there at around the same time with the same type of clothes on. Who knows???
Ok enough of that.

I hope that you are all working your plan whatever color it is. Let's really do some damage in October.

Nance - Evette lost through a combination of Atkins (which she started a while back) and then LAWL; she's detailed her efforts it in other threads, but I'm too tired to look right now. I did want you to go to bed thinking she was more of a walking wonder than she is.

(I apparently posted this in the wrong month, haha :o )
Hi all. My name is Margo and I am starting over in the month of October. Today is Day 1 of the TO and so far all is going well. I have worked out and am feeling good. I am having a few cravings right now, but this is because this is usually the time where I would be full of bad carbs. But not today. I hope everyone is having an absoutly wonderful weekend and I am going to be a regular on this site. I need the support and I want to help support others!!

Good evening ladies! Today was second day of Fast Forward (the no bars version of TO) and I was UP this morning!?!?!?! This after a really good night gone bad. Went over to Destin with a friend last night and had dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe (never been to one before), and then a movie. Had the best time, really, and got home around midnight. Well, THEN ex-DF had left several angry-toned voicemails saying he came by my house and I wasn't there, etc. and THEN the crazy shows up at my door at like 12:15 A.M. !!! Grilled me about where I was, who with, etc. and yelled at me about not working things out with him..... THIS after like a week or so ago, I laid my heart out, and sobbing while I did it, and he just flicked my heart right off his radar, and NOW he's busting MY chops because I went out with a man?!?!?! Then today he's such a secure and big man he sent me the ugliest text message ever and then would not answer my return call. Even picked up the phone and hung it up. Now THAT's what I call a guy with NO BALLS. WHat a friggin' nut job! Thank GOD I got away from him when I did. If he shows up here again I'm calling the police because he's really starting to scare me. I don't think he will because he made a huge point of telling me he had a date tongight and that I was horrible in bed, so if I'm lucky he's out of my life forever. I DO feel sorry for the poor girl he tricked into going out with him though. Hopefully she's loaded with money, because the only reason he needs a woman is to support him. THAT's why he's so pissed at me, because he can't live here anymore.

WHEW! Sorry, but I had to get that off my chest before I binged on any food in place of it.

Now, back to LAWL. I have done the TO just as I was told and like I said I gained this AM. I'm hoping it is going to be abducted by the whoosh fairy while I'm sleeping tonight.

Everyone have a great day tomorrow!! Let's all start October POP and keep it that way (at least until my birthday on the 22nd right???

Hugs,

Here's to a new month, everyone. Let's make this the best month on record ever. I know that if I consciously decide to be perfectly perfect until November 1st, (which covers Halloween), I can do it. I haven't been drinking my water everyday and I know how important that is to my success, so it'll just have to be too bad if I have to use a public bathroom - I'll suck it up and take my chances. What's the worst that can happen?

Hey, Jenni: Feel free to unload whenever you need to. It's better than pigging out! And we don't mind a bit. (Give that jerk a kick in the a** for me, will ya?)

Good morning everyone, happy october, my favorite month of the year!

So I haven't been into the COD in a week and I probably won't be in again until friday, though I need bars so maybe I can stop in. I'm in the middle of midterm exams and I just can't get out there right now. So busy. I also haven't been keeping up with my diary. I have enough homework to do.

Question, what do you guys do to break through when you can't seem to get belong a certain number? I need to a jump start and I hate TO. Any advice?

Id love to try and focus on having a perfect day --maybe target 3 POP days per week. and once I attain that goal, have 4, etc. My hardest is weekends. They are so busy. last week I had a perfect week, only to be up 2bs. I tried not to fret, put my membership on hold for 4 weeks (til the endo fmy training sessions with the PT) and will try my best to be POP each day -- and weigh myself again the end of October. I have a difficult time being critisized when I am staying on program but just working out. This 6 week program I am on is very aggressive.

My training program is just amazing. I feel soo great after each session; meeting 3x aweek and then going in for an additional 45 min of cardio (if possible) the other 2 days. Results have to show. My family is amazed at my arms (but its my belly / butt that needs it the most)

My computer died last week as well so I have my old one now and at the beginning, this wouldnt work either --

Hope everyone has a great week. I really need to stay motivated and be successful this week!

Good morning ladies -

Had a great NSV weekend as far as being OP, had a stressfull weekend though, went to MIL, (she's truly the MIL where all the jokes come from....only I don't think they are very funny since the joke's on me) Found out my FIL has cancer again...8 mon. ago they found cancer in his kidneys...now it's in his lungs and they are doing surgery this week - hince the trip to MIL. My good frind (been friends since 8yrs. old when we met at church camp) is in the hospital - has blood clots in her lungs! She is only 28 and just had a baby 2 weeks ago. Her DH is beside himself while their 2 girls are being passed around from family to family while he stays with her at the hospital. no telling when she'll came home.

Took my 8 yr DS to get haircut before going to MIL and a lil' girl comes up and starts to read him a Cosmo mag article about 101 sex tips! What is that about? I told her she needed to go find her mom and took the magazine away from her, I handed her a Babysitters club book from the kids shelf and sent her on her way. (Enjoyed the long talk in the car on the 2 hr drive to MIL)

Imagine, MIL from he.., FIL Cancer returns, Df in hosp. , sex talk with 8 yr old, and stayed OP!

Michelle - WTG on your NSV! Buffets are so hard! I heard someone say "An all you can eat buffet is NOT a challenge to EAT ALL YOU CAN!" :lol3: As for your weekend - I'm praying for you FIL and DF. Sometimes when it rains, it really pours. I'm so proud of you staying OP after all that "rain". Please know that we are here for you and I know you are a strong woman! You can do this!!!!

Carla - :welcome: Keep us posted on your first WI. We're here for ya'!

Lisa - Come on girl! You sound too down for a cutie patootie like you! Pick yourself up and get going girlie!!! YOU CAN DO THIS!!! Here's some :dust: - :dust: for ya!

Evette - You're into shopping because you've turned yourself into a LAWL HOTTIE!!! :hot: We'd love to see some pictures of the new "duds" when you have them on! - Hey, I wonder if we can turn shopping into a sport!?!? By the way, I was larger than a size 5 when I was BORN!!!

Margo - :welcome: We're here for ya' girlfriend! You can do this!!!! (By the way, I read BOTH threads to catch up, so I saw you both places!) AND I love your "Margolicious". You go girlie!

Baja - You may like those things - but you'll LOVE seeing the new you in the mirror in a few months! Keep up the great work!!! And isn't that a great feeling to wake up feeling great?!?

2bfit - Sounds like you need to "motivate COD"!!! :) As for the WIs, it's really about the bigger picture anyway! Not only are we losing weight, we're getting healthier, making better choices (educated choices!) and we're feeling better about ourselves with each day!!! Keep on keeping on girlfriend! You're doing great!

SAHMof1 - :welcome: Let us know how tomorrow goes for ya'. We're here for ya!

Jenni - Sounds like you're not blinded by LOVE anymore!!! Ain't it a hoot when we see someone's true colors?!? I agree, if he shows up again or continues to contact you in a malicious manner, call the police. You never know when someone is going to go that one step too far and you've got your babies to think about! Hugs and :dust: for ya!

Deb - Jenni will have to kick him in the a$$ for ya cause he doesn't seem to have the other parts of anatomy that we females usually aim for!!! By the way, I thought you were already perfect!!! As for restrooms, at least you can get to one - out here, we drive 30 minutes before we get to a public restroom, so I always have to make sure I can make it out or back before need one. (Okay, that was TMI, but I just had to share that!)

Sommer - Okay, I know this is crazy, but sometimes, just taking a breather and eating something (not much) as a treat will boot me back on track afterwards - a couple of days later. Like on vacation - we ate smart but not POP and gained 7 and the first day back on POP, lost 5 of them. I don't want to recommend this, as it takes will power and definately isn't the norm, but it works for me. The secret is to maintain control. I know some "diets" recommend a "cheat day" eat week or a "cheat meal" each week. I'm afraid that would be too much temptation for me. So, sign here to free me from fault:____________________ :lol3:

Sue - HANG IN THERE!!! Don't get too frustrated! And if you need to vent - we're here for ya!

As for dh and I - we had a wonderful Church time and the boys went out with their friends to a movie, so we came home and had POP lunch and dinner together. (and a nap!) It was quiet and wonderful. We've both lost the weight we gained on vacation and I'm actually down a little more. So, it was worth it and proves that we can make better choices! :woo: Got a lot of keying to do this week, and I'm at church right now printing 18 cds for Pastor, so as soon as I'm finished, it's drive 45 min. home to get to work! :(
Blessings everyone!

Its impossible to catch up with the whole September thread but I will eventually know how has everyone been... I bought my tickets to Brazil and that is what my new goal is, to be looking FLABLESS AND FABLOUS before getting in that plain! I have 8 weeks, therefore at least 16lbs to be gone before than! I erased my old weight because from now on I dont wanna look at that 189, lets just pretend the highest I have ever been is 175!!!

Morning Ladies! I hope everyone had a nice weekend! (Reddeborah, I am here, but I do not have a pc at home, so I am only online during the week). I love October! My favourite month, and my favourite time of year. This weekend I pretty much rested as I was pretty sleep deprived from camping. When I went into the COD last Thursday I was up 1.2 lbs, but when I went in on Saturday morning I was down 4.2 lbs. Go figure. I figure by tomorrow, I will have gone up 2 lbs, which should mean a loss from last Tuesday (if that makes sense).

Cassie-Love the new avatar! I think I am going to have to update mine (it is from last year)

Margo/Carlita-:welcome3: to the forum! This is a great group of ladies!

Evette-Congrats on the shopping trip. I am starting to get into shopping. I desparately needed some new clothes as my pants were literally falling off of me. I went to one of the plus size stores I usually go to, and yup, I am down 2 sizes. I love it!

Jenni-Bye bye toi bad rubbish! Interesting how people show their true colours when they can't get what they want...

Everyone have a great day!

Good Morning, Ladies!

What a beautiful fall day here in Charlotte, NC. I love this weather! The kind that encourages exercise and discourages chocolate.

It's good to see everyone back in the game. Speaking of which: Go Panthers!

I'm off to hunt for Halloween costumes for kids. It's hard finding something for DD that is not too childish, but not too sexy. She would love to vamp it up but DH and I are pretty strict about that sort of thing. Hopefully we'll be able to meet somewhere in the middle. Kids are home from school today for Jewish holiday so we will be hanging out together. I miss the days when I would choose their clothes for them and then spend the whole day playing. I was a fun mom back then. Now it seems I'm the Grinch. Oh well, time marches on......

About how much does LAWL cost?

Joni135
10-02-2006, 01:40 PM
CarolR - you pay for LAWL upfront based on the amount of pounds you want to lose. I had 30 to lose and at first they wanted about $500 but I didn't join on the spot and got a call to come in and got the program for $250. This included 15 weeks of counseling, 3 weigh ins per week (which really helps), and the planning tools (which consist of a diary and program plan book). You buy your own food, and they highly promote (and I personally really like) their LA Lite bars to ensure success with the program. The bars do cost about a dollar each and you eat 2 a day (bars or soups or drink mix can be used, but I use the bars). I bought bars in bulk to save money. This actually works out to be less expensive than WW.

Cassi - great picture! Hope you enjoyed your big weekend!

Rebecca - good to see you. I'm jealous of your Brazil plans...I wanna go! I have a Brazilian friend and told her about your friend's tatto "Made in Brazil" - that was you, right??

Sommer - Thrilled for you and Ryan. You've probably already got your wedding binder started....Ms. Organized.

Pearl - Wow - you're almost half way to your Christmas goal already. Now you sound like a very giving lady; I think you need to give yourself a little something when you reach that goal...any thoughts on that?

At the rate I'm going, I probably won't reach my goal until Sommer's wedding (we're all invited, aren't we??). Actually, I have 6 weeks left in my contract and my goal is going to be 10 lbs in those 6 weeks. It's quite an aggressive goal (for me), but I'm going to bump up my cardio and walk my doggies for 30 minutes every day from now until then (unless it rains). And I've sworn off alcohol until Thanksgiving.

Lisa - hope you're feeling better.......don't forget to plan and share your menu on the Daily Menu Thread. I'm all alone there today cause Cassi's playing hookie; but she'll be back. After all, I have to hear how the Parrothead party went.

Jenni-thank GOD you got rid of that man! My best friend has a way of choosing really scary guys too, and now her latest guy is stalking her. Restraining orders are our friends!! Scary stuff. But just FYI, I gained .6lbs on my very first TO, but it did help control my cravings. Then I began to lose faster after the initial 2 days...so if you weighed yourself during those 2days it might be skewed...I don't know...I'm not a big fan of TO b/c of that.

Cassi-post something so I can see this new avatar!!

Evette-I'm SO jealous! I don't remember EVER being a size 5. I was a size 12 by the age of 13 and have just been going up since then. I'm currently a size 18. Gulp! That's difficult for me to admit!

Sommer-I'm still so happy for you! I don't even know you, and I've been in a good mood all day b/c of your news!

Michelle-good job staying OP! I'm sorry about all the stress. :( Hope things get better soon. Be proud of yourself though, if I found out all of that in one weekend, I'd probably be hitting the Ben & Jerry's pretty hard!

Welcome newbies! I'm fairly new myself (been doing LAWL since Sept. 20), but this is a wonderful resource. I'm somewhat addicted to this site.

WI again today. I'm thinking about moving to 2x/wk on Mondays and Thursdays, because I like to see a bigger jump in the numbers. I'm nervous for today, b/c I think I ate a little too much over the weekend. Not off plan, but poor decisions when it comes to portion size. We'll see...

Good afternoon girls! Been running errands all day since the office is closed for the holiday. I ended up having to work for about 6 hours yesterday, so the weekly errands are being done today. I guess the bright side of that is that DS is in daycare and I got to shop in a relatively empty grocery store.

Anyhoo... weekend was fun. I have NOT gotten on the scale and will not do so until tomorrow morning. We're all on for TO tomorrow, right? God knows I need it! DH said it was a weekend furlough (sp?). I had a conjugal visit with Taco Bell and lots of beer, LOL. And chinese food. It was bad. But since I've started, other than the planned vacation, I've only had a few slips. No binging or anything. DH said that if I have a "bad" weekend once every six months I shouldn't be worried. We should all be like that he said. He's so good at putting things in perspective. And also we knew that this was a planned cheat weekend.

So, back to business tomorrow morning!

I haven't read anything since Friday, so I'm going to go back and catch up with everyone.

Also, the new avatar was taken Saturday night before we went out. I put a "before" and two pictures from Saturday and one picture from last night on Webshots. I think if you click the picture Webshots will open and you can click "view album" or "view slideshow" or something to see the other pics.

Carolr-the cost depends on if your COD has a sale going on or not. I was so horrified about how much I actually weighed vs. what was in my mind, that they probably got more money out of me that I should have paid. I ended up paying almost $1000 for the full 74 lbs that I wanted to lose. I still don't understand how they got that figure, I might ask today when I go in. They said it was $11/week, but that just doesn't add up at all... Hrmmmm...

Hee hee a face for bajachick...I could not find another. This is me in my studio in Baja,,Palm leaves on the roof. In a rural beach in Baja one hour from Cabo San Lucas. on the Gulf of Mexico. Rest of the time I live in Huntington Beach, Calif. I guess I need to do a bio..Now that I feel I have been hanging around awhile here..

After I retired...Yeh I am 59 and 5,7" about...anyway after I retired I took up pottery. I do mostly high fire and I am making 100 pitchers..Yes 100...In order to get really good at a piece..like pitchers...one should make 100......

OK... I've finally read through the posts... here are some personals.

Lea Ann – Sorry about the stupid scale at WI. Sometimes we gain right after a workout. Ok, I know it was only a mile, but you’ve been good, so I’m trying! WTG on the pizza, though. Sounds like a Carb Craver to me.

Reddeb – Do you have a pic of DD in her homecoming attire? Can’t wait to see. How was the Boca Burger?

Evette – YOU HOTTIE! SIZE 5?!?! WOW! YOU GO GIRL!
“Wow, thanks for answering her right away. I feel like you guys know so much about me....”
We’re the “Official Evette Fan Club”, remember?

Shannon – WTG on the loss! I’m so glad you pushed the COD to work for you.

Lori – Miss I-Lost-60-Pounds needs to change her avatar heading. You hit your 50lb mark a LONG time ago! Did you ever get that fire pit? Or are you still thinking what to get?

Kristi – Sorry your COD (and the ones around you) suck. Did they ever figure it out? I don’t know why they couldn’t have written it down to put in the computer later?!?!

MickeySue – WTG on navigating the buffet! And WTG on staying OP during your very stressful weekend! Great NSVs!

Carla, Margo, SAHM – Welcome to our little group.

Deb – WTG with date night. And the pizza is a Carb Craver! No harm, no foul! You rock! BTW, love the pics. The change in you is amazing! I don’t have that many pictures. I’ve been hiding until recently. Thanks for noticing the avatar. I uploaded it last night, but that was all I could do. Couldn’t even catch up on posts.

Nance – Seems like you’re doing great on handling yourself when you’re out with friends. I need some of your will power dust!

Jenni – You have done so well focusing on yourself and keeping OP since your breakup. I am so proud of you! I’m sure that keeping your focus is helping you be a better mom, too. Hang in there, and just be glad you didn’t marry him!

Sommer – I was looking at my past menus since I know I need a kick in the pants after this weekend. What works for me is what I always seem to go back to:
Lunches I alternate between tuna salad and veggie burgers on pita or tortillas with a salad and salad spritzer and baby carrots. For dinner, it’s the tilapia a couple of times a week, and grilled chicken. Taco salad and grilled chicken salads like the BBQ chicken salad is yummy. Eat your fruits before 5:00.

Rebeca – Welcome back! We’ve missed you!

Kristi –WTG on dinner! Sounds like you’re doing a lot better at staying strong on the weekends. Those Levi’s will be on you in no time!

LJ – Hang in there. I know it seems like you can’t move forward, but I know that you have it in you!

Pearl – 21? You are WAY too kind! So… what ARE you going to do for yourself when you get to your Christmas goal???

Joni – I’m checking in! Parrothead party was fun. The two bands were good. We won two tickets to see Marie Osmond’s Christmas show the day after Thanksgiving. This is something I wouldn’t go line up for, but since she has a good voice and it’s free, it will make a good date night for DH and I to get us in to the holiday spirit, and before all of the rush of the holidays. We have Hanukkah, DS 3rd B-da6 12/18, Christmas, New Years, and at least four parties. Ugh… I’m putting on weight just thinking about it! We also entered an auction for a “family pack” that we won. We got two tickets to the Miami Seaquarium and a free swim with the dolphins session, a night at a Holiday Inn in Orlando, which we will use to take the kids to Sea World, four tickets to our minor league baseball team, with a “bat boy for a day” pass. DH is going to use that to raffle off to his kids, since he teaches third grade. We also got tickets to a couple of other parks. It was pretty cool. I drank A LOT, and enjoyed each and every beer. We started a conga line, and just had a great time in general. It was nice to be out with grown ups for a change. Now it’s time to behave until the Jimmy Buffett concert 11/14.

Oh yeah, one more thing. The jeans I have on in the picture taken yesterday are 18s. Not 18W, but just 18. From the regular section of the store! I bought another pair today. 18 off the rack. Didn't even try them on until I got home and they fit too!

Hi guys! I finally am able to jump on and say hello! I had a pretty crappy food week. All of a sudden it seems like I really need some extra structure, motivation, butt kickings, etc. For that reason, I am starting the 6 week challenge today. I am not sure if I will really keep it up for 6 weeks or not. Last time I lost crazy weight for the first few weeks, then leveled off. Anyway, it is TO today and tomorrow, then 10 days replacing a protein and a starch with a high protein slim fast, then 2 regular OP days, then start back with TO again. I have been feeling pretty yucky the last month or so, and I know dang well it is due to diet. So, wish me luck!

Evette- You are setting such a great example to all of us. Thanks for being so perky and wonderful.

Rebeca- So good to so see you back! Very cool about the trip home.

Cassi- What a sexy picture!

Lea Ann- Hey, lady, good to see you!

Pearl- Thanks for your inspiration. I really enjoy your posts.

Here is a big hug coming out to all of you, so good to see my friends!

Carol R - My theory is if it's not convenient to get to, you won't want to go to the COD. Check out the locater link at http://www.laweightloss.com/ to see if there is a center near you; if not (and I'm guessing there won't be one close to you), there may be a way to join online........someone else will have to chime in and explain how that works.

Cassi - Too funny - I had a conjugal visit with Taco Bell and lots of beer Call me hokey, but I always watched the Osmonds on TV and thought they provided some good entertainment. Sounds like you had a good time at Saturday's party. Yes, we're all set for Take off. I was going to do chicken, but now that I see the post about egg whites, I may try that to see how I do? Maybe I'll do one day with eggs and day 2 with chicken....yeah...that's what I'll do.

Katie - good to see you....I like that 6 week challenge, and since that's about the amount of time I have left on my contract...I think I'll join you...But, I'll be one day behind since I'm doing TO with Cassi and a few others starting tomorrow (Tuesday). Good luck and you KNOW you can do this.

:dust: It must feel great to be in a regular size..FOr when you go out,.I will give you some of my will power dust..although it seems like you are losing nicely... I fill up on fresh vegies. And think about how I will look several lbs thinner..also, I try to refocus my attention on the social aspect instead of the food. Anyway I like me more without drinking...wow that is a big statement....I drink lots of water when we do go out. And stick with decaf coffee..

Last nite at dinner a friend gave me some lemon mineral type water..0 calories..in a wine glass.....It felt special...really...Had not even had a wine glass in my hand for a month...Here is some dust!!!:dust:

Cassi - Once again I Am SOOO jealous of the sizes you gals can fit into!! The last time I wore an 18 I weighed 179 pounds!!! My body is sooooo pear shaped!

Well, not much to report. Been POP today so that's good.

I'm hoping to have a dinner date tomorrow night, just waiting for confirmation ;) It's refreshing to hang out with a man who isn't so bitter and mean spirited. AND it doesn't hurt that he thinnks I'm beautiful as is. I guess that's the good thing about having male friends. They can edify you and you can hang out without them expecting .... well.... relations.....

Oh, I exercised this morning (go me!) but my bum knee is acting up again so I gotta go light on the lunges and such.

Be good girls, and to everyone doing TO tomorrow: Be strong!!

Mighty hugs,

Good evening chickies,

I had a really long post written out before leaving work, but it disappeared. Oh well, Hopefully everyone is POP today. I was. It's 8 pm now and I am done eating anything for the rest of the night. That is one thing that I am incorporating on my own and that's to stop eating by 7:30pm or 8 at the latest.

I also decided to cancel my mid-week visits to the COD. I called today to cancel my mid-week and because they have me labeled as needing "motivation". She wanted to know why. I plainly told her that I am tired of the inconsistency and I would rather come in the morning which is when I weigh myself at home. So on Saturdays since I don't work weekends, I can get in around 9:30 -10:00 and get it over with. I think that it will help my attitude a little better towards them as well. There was nothing she could offer me at that time. LOL!!

Anyone trying any new exercises? I wish you all well on the TO this week. I think that I am going to do it on Thursday and Friday as soon as I can locate some Knudsen's Morning Blend.

Congratulations to all you who loss. Keep up the good work.

Have a great evening everyone.

Okay--my new photo--which I realize is too small to see anyone, is me, my aunt, and my girls at this past weekend's Race for the Cure. My mom is a survivor now going on 3-4 years (bad daughter--I block bad stuff) so it was important for me to include my girls in the whole experience of the "race".

YAY YAY YAY - I LOVE all the new pictures!!!!

Rebeca- So awesome that you got your tickets to go home. I am so jealous!! You enjoy the heck out of yourself!! Don't be such a stranger!!

Sommer- You should be talking to Joni, I think she is the plateau buster's queen. She has all kinds of info on it. During my stall, I just stayed strong. Drink extra water, eat bigger meals earlier in the day and lighter dinners. (eat like a king at breakfast, a prince at lunch and a pauper at dinner), have the powdered lites instead of the bars, eat all fruits before 4 or 5 in the afternoon, eat really light starches and keep your chin up!!

Margo, SAHM- Welcome to the group. You will enjoy it here. We are a pretty chatty group though.

Michelle- Great job on staying OP with all that has been going on in your life right now.

Jenni- I'm right with ya there on the pear shape thing. I am a size 14 on my top half and a size 18 on the bottom half.

Pearl- I bet you are thinking of Cassi's album. Go back and find her post with the picture at the bottom and click on the picture, it will take you to her album. For my album, just click on the picture in my siggy.

Jenn- Somebody probably already answered you, but It's 32 oz. of juice per day. 4 - 8 oz. glasses per day.

Debbie- I was going to do TO with you guys but I realized it hasn't been 2 weeks since my last TO, so I will have to catch you guys on the next one.

Lea Ann- For being awfully early in the morning, you look pretty darn good!!!! That is an awesome picture!

When I went in for WI on Friday, they were having a special on lites and weeks. I bought 10 weeks worth of lites at a special price and got 15 WL weeks free. That should put me around 150, so I am happy with that.

Gotta head to bed, I have to be at work at 5 in the morning and I am NOT a morning person!!!

2bfit06 - I'm only going in once this week too. I never seem to do well on my Tuesday visit, so I'm skipping it and going only on Friday. As for exercise, a friend of mine lent me a tape he bought called "slim in 6" It's just tape 1 and it's only 25 minutes, but I feel like it's at least helping me feel good, to do it 3 times a week. He says I should walk or bike on the other 3 or 4 days, but haven't started that just yet. I have a stationary recumbant bike and a bowflex which I will begin using when I'm a little lower. I don't want to over do anything just yet and stop losing.

Pearl - Miss you girlfriend! I'll be sending you a pm shortly.

Boo's Mom - I had a few bad kitchen days myself. That's why I went ahead and did TO this past weekend, to help myself back into the saddle. I think it worked. I finished eating around 6:30 and I still don't have the munchies yet.

Joni - You're crazy! (In a really good way). Your sense of humor is quite enjoyable. *hug*

Boo's mom - love the family photo. You are so beautiful! You look like you already reached goal in that photo girl!! I'm glad your mom is OK now.

Reddeb - I did TO over the weekend so I'm out of the count. You can do it!! I'll still cheer you on!!

Jenn - Sorry I don't know, but I know Cassi does!!!

SAHM - Congrats on starting your new plan!! We're behind you all the way!

Deb - My fellow pear, hope you had a nice peaceful sleep. I could never get up to be at work by 5. The only time I can get up early is the day after Thanksgiving to beat feet to the MALL!!! lol

Everyone else - sorry I missed you, but I'm sending up little arrow prayers for you all to have a wonderful and POP Tuesday, and especially you TO's. You can do it!! Woo Hoo!

Good grief, can you tell I'm tired and not getting enough rest with all this keying I've got?!? I'm sorry. But maybe if we go back to the power of suggestion... Hmmm - is it working?

Gotta go, ds just decided he wants to get a biscuit at McD's this morning on the way to work. (I just love that he has his own money!!)

Bad News: Up to 248.6 over the long weekend - Good News: TO today and tomorrow. I'm not going to have my breakfast for a while yet. I'm afraid to eat too early in case I'm starving later on. Does that make sense?

Good Morning everyone!! Just checking in this morning for a quick hello! I'm so busy with work these days, argh, but I didn't want you guys to think I had forgotten you. Take Care and I hope everyone has a POP day. As for myself.....it's TOM, so I'm feeling like a blob!! Weight is still the same as my ticker, so I ain't complaining. :)

Lea Ann: That's such a good picture. That was taken early in the morning? You look wonderful!! Your girls and your mom are so cute!

My pear shaped friends, I'm totally the opposite. My upper body is bigger than my bottom half. What gives!?! haha!

Deb(ster) - You made me laugh when I saw "deer" meat on your menu thread; it's been a long time since I had any and even then I had to camoflauge it in meatloaf! I sure hope my COD has a special like you got! 15 weeks free!! just for buying the bars. That's it - I'm moving to MT.
RedDeb - Hope DH is a good patient! I go weigh in today (after a one week hiatus from the COD) and my ticker will surely be moved in the wrong direction. Don't wait too long to eat - at least drink some of your juice.
Pearl - you can suggest away, but until I see a big difference in my before and after photo, you won't be seeing my before picture (and it's a beauty, let me tell you!)
LeaAnn - love the picture; your girls are so cute! and you look great!....are you wearing Lucky work out attire? Here's to a POP day for you. I think you should invest in some of that yellow police tape and block off the kitchen after dinner....funny, but after 6 I have no desire to eat. Guess I'm lucky in that regard (it's the daytime grazing that I have to watch out for).
Jenni - let me know how you like Slim in 6. I almost ordered Turbo Jam last night, but I have sooooooooo many exercise tapes/dvds, I'm holding out until I can try/borrow my friends to see if it is my cup of tea, and then I'll put it on my Christmas "want" list.
SAHMof1 - Congrats on your TO and planning. And you're right - this is a busy place! What can I say - women just love to talk!

To my fellow Tuesday Take Off ladies (Cassi, RedDeb, Pittie Momma, and anyone else)....remember, it's only two days. Look at the bright side; very EASY to plan your day!

Hey girls...good luck on TO!

I probably shouldn't be asking this while you're all doing TO, but can someone explain the Carb Cravers meals to me? I thought they were only an option when you took the supplements, but then I saw on another thread that that's not true...I'm a little hesitant to do them, however, b/c I'm scared that the extra starches will make me gain. Advice?

MickeySue
10-03-2006, 10:08 AM
YMegan - you can do the Carb Cravers with out the supplements, My plan says up to 2X a week. The supplements are suppose to help you pass the carbs w/out absorbing as much of them...I have no clue if they really work or not but I am not buying them! Yes, if you partake in the carb cravers to often you will not loose as much or as fast and maybe not at all. However, that being said if you only do them on occassion - they shouldn't effect your loss. They are intended for cravings not as staples. This is what my COD says any how!

I have only done the pizza 1X. I will probally do the stuffed shells soon though, I am so missing my noodles and the portion size alloted in the regular section just isn't worth wasting a starch on!

Hope this helps.

Good Morning -

Katie- is so good to see you here!!! How is your new job? Do you get to spend more time with your family and be actually a mommy sometimes? I am curious to know all the details! Hope all works out!

LeahAnn- I think its fantastic of you as a mother to make sure you children know what a great grandma they have and being part of the race it just part of being a family... I admire you for that!

Deb- I just cant get over on how wonderful you look! Your skin just glows and I can see just by your eyes how happy and healthy you are! You are a motivation to me!

Evette- you keep getting prettier and prettier with all the new avatars! you go girl!!!

Morning ladies! Well, it is day 2 of TO for me. DH made popcorn last night and I cheasted some, but oh well. Today is a new day, right? It is TOM for me, too, and I also feel really bloated, annoyed with the whole world, etc. I am excited to start my shakes tomorrow. I love the coffee ones.

Deb- Loved the album. You have come a long way!

Lea Ann- What a great picture. I think that it is great that you are getting your daughters involved in such a great cause.

Jenni- Good for you for exercising. It does really make you feel good, doesn't it?

Joni- Good luck on TO!

Evette- I wish I had your shape. I too, am a pear girl. My boobs were the first thing to go when I started losing. Now they just hang there, a shell of what they used to be.....

Reddeb- No worries. TO will blast that weekend gain away in no time!

We watched Fast and the Furious Tokyo Drift last night. I got my microscope out and looked hard for a plot line, but was unable to find one. It wa really nice to lay around with the kids and DH and watch a movie, though. We hardly ever do that. Here is a funny thing that happened yesterday. It is potato harvest here right now, so there is no school for 10 days. We have a lot of school kids here all day right now. Anyway, we have this 10 year old who is really annoying. My 3 year old was really mad at him yesterday, and came over to me screaming and yelling about what Drake did. I was so confused, because we don't have a Drake here. It finally occured to me that she was talking about Josh. If you have kids you are probably familiar with a kids show on Nick called "Drake and Josh". She was all confused, calling him Drake. I laughed so hard. Have a great day everyone, and special wishes to all of my fellow TO buddies!

Hey Rebeca, not much for family time yet, but things are slowing down a little. I have been putting in about 55 hours a week, but I told the owner that I am going to be cutting back to 45 this month since we are all done with relicensing and I have gotten the paperwork straight. Deb - I just looked at YOUR album - OH MY GOSH!!! I am SO inspired! I am so PROUD of you!!!! WOW!!! And to think - I have soooo much more than that to lose! I can't even imagine the difference! Did I say WOW?!? Also, you have inspired me to get in front of the camera on a monthly basis - I'm amazed at the huge difference in each picture!

Joni - Okay, okay. Forget the album. After all, it took me a month to finally put a picture out here, so I guess I'd better zip it! (I've got a "doozy" before shot too from a couple of years ago!)

TO ladies - YOU CAN DO IT!!!! It's only 2 DAYS!!!! As Cassi says, you can do just about anything for just two day! (I love that chickie!) :drill:

I forgot to mention that yesterday at church several friends commented on the "drastic" change since they hadn't seen me in 3 weeks due to our vacation. One that I don't know as well said she was astounded in how much weight I've lost and I asked her how she knew. She said, "I can SEE IT! Are you kidding?!? I'll bet you don't see the difference as much as we do!"
Then the mom of one of the teens my 2 ds went out with told my 2 ds that she could see I was losing ALL OVER!!! Woo Hoo! Of couse, that just adds to my "just wait and see" attitude, cause if you think this is something - "just wait and see!"
Hugs everyone - POP ALL DAY!!!

Good morning ladies! I am just getting in to work, so not much time to post. Went to WI this morning and only gained a pound after my long weekend. But that puts me at 214.8, which is 1.8 over my ticker weight. I will change my ticker after TO. Am hoping to lose at least 1.8 this week.

Katie - I am so glad to see you post. I've missed your wise words. The "Drake and Josh" thing was funny!

Rebeca - You look so beautiful in your avatar! Glad your scale is being nice.

Pearl - You have come so far in such a short time. We are all so proud of you!

And yes, I was way off track this weekend. The family picnic on Sat - a couple of desserts ambushed me before I could stop myself. Then, yesterday, DH and I took a day to go to a resort about and hour north of us and played golf, then ate dinner at the restaurant there..... I had dessert again. SO, I am now doing TO. I have not gotten on my scale or gone to WI, but it can't be good.

Kimphin - You join the bunch of us tortured souls (thanks Reddeb for that one) in the TO quest. You need to get on the scale so you have a baseline! Wouldn't you feel better getting on the scale now and being able to see a 2-3lb loss by Thursday morning instead of the same as your last WI? Even if you don't go to the COD, get on your own scale for a baseline. It will motivate you much more. (Just my opinion). And I had my own weekend that was off the wall. At least I hope the desserts were yummy?

I looked up LAWL but I couldn't see that you could do it online.

bizlawchik
10-03-2006, 12:39 PM
TO is short for Take Off, which is a two day jump start to your weight loss. I didn't think you could do LAWL online, but someone mentioned earlier that if you didn't have a center close by you could have "phone in" sessions with the counselors. You could call the 800 number on the website and ask about that.

Hey! Guess what I realized today!!! I weigh less than my Drivers License says I do! Yippee!

My new avatar is a pic of me and DD goofing for the new video camera - she is a natural ham - we call her the Drama Queen.

Sommer, congratulations on your big news! I can see the glow from here!

Gotta run! Just wanted to pop in and say hi, and jump on the new avatar bandwagon!

Great pic Lori! Wonder where your DD gets her "drama genes" from.
Cool NSV about the driver's license weight! Wish I could say the same - my Driver's license says 135 haha!
Pearl - must feel good to have folks notice! Compliments are a great thing.
Katie - glad you explained the Josh and Drake thing...that is pretty funny. But I thought it was funnier that in Idaho you get 10 days off school for potato harvest...I've never heard of such a thing. And to think -- you can't really eat many of those things on LAWL!! Glad to see you'll be able to slow down a bit at work...now stick to your words so you can talk with us more.
I went to face the music at COD today; signed in and wrote down the counselor I wanted to see (why didn't they tell me I could do this when I joined 3 months ago??) ...they said she would be there today but failed to tell me she wouldn't be there until 11A...so I passed on the weigh in and will go again tomorrow. I'm that adamant about seeing a "good" counselor. My home scale wasn't too pretty this morning (161) and I'm hoping TO will help for tomorrow's weigh in.

Afternoon ladies! I wish everyone luck on the TO! I have not yet tried it as my weight loss has been pretty steady and on track, but I know eventually I will give it a go. I am so going to have to get a new avatar picture done. My picture is a bit dated and everyone looks HAWT in their new pictures. I am off to the COD tonight to see what the loss is and I am hoping I can finally change my ticker. I have not changed from when I fell off the wagon in the summer, but I am now approaching my lowest weight, so I will see the little doggie moving again shortly.

Have a great day everyone!

So far so good. I am having a hard time with meal planning. For so long I cooked what sounded good and didn't worry about what it was, and now I have to plan a head. I hope over time it will get easier.

So do u ladies weigh yourself at home as well as at the center? I am addicted to the scale. I know its not a good thing but very addictive.

AWWW girls--you are all too sweet. I failed to mention the other lady is my aunt--not my mom. We all had a good time. I e-mailed my mom the photo and of course she loved it.

I love the new avatars--Lori--love the goofiness but we can't see your face!

Sorry no time for personals--I am reading though. I have a very high maintenance kid today--has wasted the entire morning and can't believe he doesn't have his worked even partially complete. UGH. Katie--keep coming back--we miss you! Lori--I am too envious of your digital mammo--I'm pretty sure mine will not be on Tuesday--again with the ugh! More later gals!

SAHM - I weigh myself every morning at home too. Can't help it!

We had a discussion awhile ago about planning, and how important it is to your success on the program. I plan on Saturday my next week's meals, then I make my list based on that and go shopping Sunday. It really helps to have everything planned ahead so that when life goes crazy and you have a busy night, you don't have to think or fall prey to pizza or take out.

I have a very picky family, so when I first started, DH agreed to be in charge of his and the kids' meals. I would make my menu and if they wanted to have what I was having, fine, if not, it was up to him to get them fed. It really helped while I was learning the ropes. I knew I was just responsible for me, and didn't have to cook two dinners. Plus it got DH and I together in the kitchen at the same time and we got to talk a little more. I told him that if I was going to spend this kind of money on a program, I needed the whole family to help me commit. He's been great, and I think his support has made all the difference.

I plan 2-3 days in advance. On the weekends I cook up a pkg. of boneless, skinless chicken breast, grill turkey burgers, and bake fish. I then put individual servings in ziplock bags and refreeze what is refreezable fridge the rest. I also make up ziplock salad bags in portion sizes and portion sized fruit bags. This makes it so easy to eat based on what sounds good today instead of what I thought would be good last week.....but that's just me. I also have my own shelf, veggie drawer, and condiment shelf in the fridge for my LAWL approved foods...so I don't accidently grab DH ranch dressing instead of mine or the reg. cream cheese spread.

Hi Chickies!

Day one of TO and so far so good. Not too hungry. I think I may actually be successful this time. Thanks for all the support, girlfriends - it's just what I need.

Rebeca: How old are you child???? You look no older than my oldest daughter who is 21!!! :flow1:

Pearl: I love the "Just wait and see". At the pre-dinner pre-homecoming party a friend of mine asked if I had lost weight. I think that was the first person to say something, other than family members. My two closest girlfriends, who are also overweight, haven't said a peep - weird. :?:

Katie: 55 hours??? I hope you're getting the other OT, (overtime).
Come back when you can..... I miss your voice. :listen:

Cassi: What a guy! Is he still doing that? My DH is never home at dinner time but even if he was I don't think he'd be cooking for himself and the kids. He'd be taking them to restaurants. Thanks for the TO advice too! :thanks:

Michelle: 8 pounds! wtg.:carrot:

And for everyone, a little magic dust!!!! :dust:

Reddeb - Yeah, DH still does it. Except now he tends to join me more for my dinners, and I've been making some of the kids' dinners too. It's gotten a lot easier since I've started doing this, but when you're first starting and this whole thing is so new, it's such a big help to have everything as easy as possible.

Glad the TO is going OK. Just remember to keep sipping all day long and you won't get too hungry. Also, I have some blueberry herbal tea that I have with a pkt of Splenda if I start getting hungry, and I've had the low-sodium broth. Just keeping warm liquid around helps me a lot.
Helllooooo guyzzzz!!!

Did I miss it why are you going to Brazil? I love Brazil I lived there for a year. I can not wait to go back.

Hey guys! I am so glad that this is day 2 of TO. I bought 4 Lunas and did the limited TO this time. I don't know you guys do it. I am starving! Good thing for lots of tea and stuff. Loving the bars, but later I will hate what they do to my tummy. I am eating some chicken and lettuce right now with a little FF Poppyseed dressing. I have a really sad viewing to go to this evening. The brother of some good friends of ours and his wife and 4 year old daughter were killed Friday night when their brand new home exploded. I want to support my friends, but man this is gonna be hard. So sad for the family, but how lucky are the parents, really? They all went together. Anyway, I am guessing that the viewing will be huge so we are going to early.

Reddeb- Actually I am on salary, so it is really insane to work these kinds of hours. Glad that TO is going well. Keep to the faith!!!

We say the stupidest things sometimes to mourners and I've found in ministry, it is a lot better to be still and listen. My prayers are with you tonight to be a blessing to this family in this terrible time of sorrow and pain. I know you can do it!

Pearl - Good for you resisting McD anything!! Congrats on your compliments!!

reddeb - sorry DH is sick :( I bet your friends are envious and self conscious and that's why they haven't said anything. They are probably feeling bad about not being able to take the steps to lose. You just have to wait for them to be ready to do something about it, and eventually they will.

evette - hope you're feeling less-blobby tomorrow! lol

Joni - I'm liking it so far, but it IS hard on the knees, and since I've had problems before, it is a little painful. My friend who lent it to me suggested I use a broomstick or chair for support on the lunges and squats.

MS - hope you are less bloaty and WI went ok for you!

My COD said I could have a carb craver 3x per week and count it as 1 protein. I did have a few the first few weeks, and it didn't seem to hurt, but lately I've been enjoying the RF pEanut Butter and save my proteins for that instead!! It is soooo good on a little red apple!!

Rebeca - glad your scale is friendly today! Mine was as friendly as it's ever been this morning! I skipped WI though. Waiting til Friday.

Katie - too funny about Drake and Josh!! LOL my littles watch it once and awhile.

Cassi - I bet you'll lose it the day or so after TO, hang in there!

Kim - Get back on the wagon girlfriend! I had a few days of splurge, and then did TO over the weekend, and now no more cravings!!

Lori - They put your weight on your DL?!?!?! Thank God they don't in Florida!! Congrats on getting below it! Won't it be great to have to go get a new one when You are no longer recognizable!?

Carol - Your ticker will change soon honey bun! Keep at it!

SAHM - I'm addicted to my home scale too, even though it isn't very reliable. However - it was as low as it's been since I started this AM and it was the SAME this PM!!!

Boo's Mom - Hope your day went well!

Katie - I am so sorry for that family! I'll wrap my arms around you all.

My day was ok :) Work was busy and got very stressful at one point, but things calmed down and I even got a compliment from my boss about how well I dealt with a customer who was very intense and grouchy from the moment she walked in. It wasn't directed at us, she was just at her wits end with her project. I was able to help her and by the time she left, she was eating out of my hand! It felt good to be able to turn her attitude around.

As far as eating I've been POP. Hip Hip Hooray! Rewarded myself with a fuzzy navel. 1/2 oz vodkw, 1/2 oz peach shnapps and 4 oz OJ. I counted it as 1S 1F, and it was within my alotted amounts.

Hope everyone has a good night! I'm kid free and ready to have fun!

SAHM- Hi my name is Deb and I am a scale addict!!!!

Pearl- Thanks for the wonderful compliments on my pictures. That is so cool that everybody at church noticed you were losing. That makes it feel so worth while!! I love your wait and see attitude!!!

Kim- We all need a break sometimes and as long as you enjoyed yourself then jumped back on plan, it's all OK. Love your picture! Very pretty!!

Lori- Great pic, but I agree with Lea Ann, we need a face shot in there somewhere. You made me look at my DL and mine says 195. It was probably right when I got it, that was 6 years ago. DL here are good for 7 years.

Katie- So sorry about the friends family. I agree that most the time, just being there is all that you need to do.

Thanks everybody for your wonderful comments on my WL album. I do feel so much better about myself and that is that attitude showing through!!

Good evening ladies,

How is everyone today? Looks like the thread has been jumping, that's a good thing.

Today, I was so proud of myself because I was super prepared (I thought), I had my salad packed for lunch as well as my snacks for the day, but when it was time for lunch, I realized that I had no protein. So I ended up with an Arby's Jr Roast beef with my salad. That is allowed, but what I am wondering is how much of a difference an extra fat for one day will make. I can't imagine much difference, but I did write it in my diary, so it will be interesting to see what the counselor will say on Saturday. I will let you all know. LOL!

I haven't been around here long enough to know what NSV means, can someone please fill me in.

All of your pictures look great. I am not sure how to include one in my profile, but I will try soon.

My workout was great! Everyone have a great evening.

Bajachick, Thanks for the quick response. I appreciate it.

I am trying to decide if I will do the TO on Thursday and Friday or not. I am kind of thinking of waiting until next Monday and Tuesday. I hasn't been 14 days for me yet. It would have been nice to do it with the group who is doing it for support. This time, it will be the more restricted version for me. I will not buy the juice from the COD when there is a substitution that so much more economical. I don't think I will add the benefiber though.

Ok, I am off for the night! Before I go, I have already picked my first reward. I have been wanting some really nice Nike Shox and I can customize a pair at NIKE ID, but they start at $100 and I just didn't want to pay that much, but if I can customize them to my own liking and colors and if I lose 15 lbs by Christmas, I will have them as a present to me!:D

Nance - Not really any difference, just that they are LAWL products and that means $$$ for your COD. If you like the salad dressing, go for it. But as for the snacks, you can buy a few to try, but I like the baked Cheetos brand much better. I don't really have them that often, but when I do, I just write "LA Snack" in my diary so they don't ask questons. It's just easier that way.

But I have bought them when the COD has given me $10 coupons because they are 10 for $10 so they were free. Then if the counselor looks in my chart, they see I bought the stuff. Nobody really looks and counts how many you've had in your diary vs. how many you bought.

Kristi - WTG! That's one more day closer to your Levi's!

Nance- I do not use their products very much, but I think that the dressing is ridiculously high in sodium and fat compared to some very good brands in the grocery store. We have had mixed answers from the COD concerning the 100 cal packs. I think that the general decision was that it would not hurt to count 1 pack as 1 starch occassionally. Personally, I am not very good at only eating 1, so I stay away!

Kristi- Good for you chickie. It feels so good to be good, huh?

SAHM- I finally just quit weighing at all. I am not good at moderation.

Deb- I have been wondering about Sherry too. Also our Purple Sunshine girl?

Jennie- Glad you had a good experience at work. It is nice to be recognized.

2bfit- 15 lbs by Christmas? No problem! You will be wearing those shoes in no time!

I finally had an NSV. We went to the viewing, which was really sad and strange. Saw a lot of old friends. Seeing the little tiny coffin of the child nearly killed me. The family, while they are terribly broken up, seems to have a pretty neat attitude about the three of them going together. It certainly made me hug my kids a little tighter when I put them to bed tonight. Anyway, the NSV happened at dinner. I insisted that we eat somewhere where I could have a salad, since this is my last night on TO. I had a chicken salad with pico de gillo and a squeeze of lime instead of dressing. I did not even taste DH's quesadilla. I am done with TO now, and looking forward to my Slim Fast in the morning. Now I cannot wait for TOM to go away so that the bloat will go away.

Question: I really like the Lunas. Everytime I try the soy my tummy goes crazy because I have IBS. My sister has IBS too, and she eats soy products every day since she is a vegatarian. She swears that I will get over the discomfort in a week or two. I am thinking about trying to eat the bars, as they would fit well into my schedule. What plan should I be on if I do it? I am on red with no lites now. Any thoughts?

Joni135

Katie - I am 5'3", currently weigh 160 and do Lites. I am on the Gold Plan since I exercise 4 or less hours a week. You probably know all the plan rations, but I get 2P, 2S, 3F, 3V, 1D. Great NSV for you after an emotional evening. WTG!

Michelle- Sorry you are feeling so low. Sometimes when I am sick I do not lose very much either. Something about your body being busy right now, I think. Keep to the faith, though. Soon you will be rewarded with a big loss.

Reddeb- Rely on hot drinks like herbal tea with splenda to help quell the hunger pains. It really works, and there are some teas out there that taste like a real treat to me. Peppermint is one, chai is another. Also, Celestial Seasonings has a line of dessert teas that are just wonderful, and calorie free. I did not realize that spud harvest was such a rare event. We lived for spud harvest as kids, however.

Joni- Thanks for the info. What is the protein size?

Well, TO is over, and I did pretty good with it. POP yesterday. I am so excited to be getting my groove back. I bought 6 new outfits this weekend. Hi chicks!

Well, day one of TO is done, and my home scale says I've lost 1.6 of the 2.4 I gained over the weekend. I am facing the demon scale at the COD today. Thanks to everyone for the encouragement on getting back POP!:thanks:

Reddeb - The golf would have cancelled the desserts if I had walked the course! You burn a lot less cals riding in a cart:) - actually they didn't give the option of walking - it's a mountain course - way hilly.

Jenni - I love PB on apple slices too! I love bringing that for lunch, and not having to use a starch. Congrats on handling your difficult customer!

Lori - Your driver's license has your weight on it!!??! Good lord, I'd rather walk...wait, then I'd weigh less..oh, never mind.

Katie - What a sad thing. There really are no words for the family. It really does make you enjoy every day you have, doesn't it?

Kristi - Great NSV! (and hopefully a future SV because of it!)

Michelle - hang in there. While you may not be losing now, you are still lighter than you were! You will eventually see progress.

So, last night after the gym (they changed the classes, I was expecting a sculpt and it was Step and weights! :lifter: Ugh.)and after dinner, I had some De-tox tea. I woke up this AM feeling great! Don't know if it was the TO, or the tea, or the workout, but I like it!

Have a great day, all! (OK, I'm so cheery I'm annoying myself!)

Jenni - Thanks! I'm glad to hear a fuzzy navel is a drink - for a moment I had a visual you probably don't want me to elaborate on! (I SO live under a rock!)

Deb - I swear - I've been thinking about your photos off and on since I saw them! I am SO inspired! For one thing, you aren't a "stranger", I feel like I know you a little. And even on the way with DS to work this morning, I was thinking about the drastic difference! WOW! Inspired is the only word I can think of! I can't thank you enough for sharing those!

Nance - I AM determined - although my boys would say I'm "stubborn" and when I set my mind to something, I usually follow through. So, I've decided to apply that to a new way of eating for life and it seems to be working. Unfortunately, with so much to lose, I'm sadly thinking of so many that will meet their goal :woo: and fade into the background of this forum... I hope that doesn't happen. I don't know about the stuff sold at LAWL much, but from reading here and looking at labels, I've determined they are more worried about salt than just about anything else! I decided I'm more concerned with eating HEALTHY - so I'm watching all of it!

2bfit - I can't wait to see your photo - but how about a name?!? (I'm pushy, I know!) Sounds like you made an educated decison on that protein - way to go girlfriend! - Definately a NSV!!!!!! :bravo: Love your idea for your first reward! I'm still trying to think of something! Joni mentioned that I should be planning one for 45# around Christmas - so I'm working on it!

SAHMof - I'm addicted to the scale too, but I take it with a grain of SAND - You didn't think I was going to say SALT did you ?!? I'm trying to limit my salt!!! :lol3: I also have a lot to weight to lose and health to gain, and you are definately off to a GREAT start!!! YOU CAN DO THIS!!! You deserve it!

Kristi - NSV Girlfriend!!!! Way to go!!! :bravo: Now, make up with hubby and let him know "dessert" comes with a POP meal!!! - wink - wink - That'll get him back on the right track!!!

Katie - I'm glad you made it through. I know with all the school shootings going on right now, all of us should be hugging our babies a little tighter! I remember at 13 when my dad had just gotten home from the hospital with a clean bill of health - and died in our living room 30 minutes later. It taught me a lesson that I am soooo thankful for! I'm so jealous of 6 new outfits! I had a lady that I didn't even know, in Texas, send me 2 huge boxes of clothes pre-LAWL. Some fit, some were too small and I was going to pass them on but for some reason, held on to them. Well, I'm glad I did, because I'm already wearing some of them! (She spends a lot more on her clothes than I do!)

Michelle - hang in there girlfriend! The scales go up and down - but ultimately - they go DOWN!!! It will come!

Kim - Way to go with TO! Love the photo! (You cutie) Keep up the great work! You deserve it!

I'm at church again this a.m. training someone for Video Ministry. I stayed up last night and made dh's breakfast, lunch and dinner for today so he wouldn't have to get up any earlier. (brownie points if I ever heard of 'em!)

I was up .5 today but who cares?! I'll be back down in a few. Starting to feel like TOM may be approaching, but since that happened on VACATION!!!! (That will teach me to pray for dh to get plenty of rest on vacation!) I hope it holds off another week!

I'm about done here, so I'll be home in an hour to see my Honey Love Sugar Babe before he goes to work. Then it's transcription all day... :(

Blessings you gorgeous beauties!!!

Question for you gals - I started TO on Tuesday of last week and lost 4 lbs...then came TOM (Saturday) and a 1 lb. increase... which is still there today. I haven't noticed any loss since my initial...frustrating...I'm trying to focus on the overall one week loss. Do you all usually gain during TOM?

Katie--what horrible news. How sad for hte family. But I agree--I couldn't bear to lose a child so I hope if I have to lose them I go too. Hope TO went well.

Lori--too funny about the drivers license--they put the weight on it in AZ and I never weighed it, even though it was a blatant lie! Now I weigh less than my lie.

Jenni--I hope you enjoyed your kid-free time--we all need it sometimes!!

2Bfit--You will LOVE the Nike shox--I wear tennies every day for work so I wanted something great--and they are! Well worth the $$--I want to look into the ID ones--my niece has them and they are too cute!

Kristi--good for you for staying strong!! Did he end up taking the kids without you?? What a nice break for you if so.

catch up on the next page!!

Angela -

I don't always gain during TOM, but I DO always gain back some of what I've lost on TO. That's why I use it more as a "get back on track" kind of thing instead of a huge weight loss booster. Everyone gets different results with TO. My COD told me that for the first few days after TO, I should not eat foods that take longer to digest (basically any of the limited foods on the plan) because you will gain a little back.

Focus on the big picture! You worked hard and are down overall! WTG!

Katie-I think you would only move down one plan-not 2. So-you should probably be on purple. Not sure what the exchanges are though.

Katie--I thought you were a scale addict, too! I am guilty as charged!! I try so hard not to and am down to ONLY weighing first thing in the morning. Are you saying you don't yourself or your food anymore?? I agree with Joni--I would think Gold with Lites. Gold protein is 2 ounces less then purple/red. Congrats on the new clothes!

Michelle--this is perfectly normal--not a stall or plateau just yet--it's only been a few days. I haven't lost since May--that's either a plateau or early maintenance! I know it's easy to get frustrated--hang in there.

Kim--glad TO is going well!!

Pearl--cool about the box of clothes--I love wearing "new" stuff. Have a great day--and don't work too hard!! You do so much for so many!! I know you love it but take care of you, too. Plan a really great reward. I usually go along the lines of self pampering myself! LOVE massages and pedicures.

Angela--I ALWAYS gain during TOM--and sometimes the week before, too!! Just stick with the plan and you'll be fine.

Okay--NOW I am caught up. I have 3 kiddoes today--can you tell we are close to a 2 day break--they all turn into heathens pre-break!!!

Katie--I know I am taller but... my COD said I would stay on Gold all the way from 188 to 150 goal (hahahahaha) and go to green if I wanted less than 143 (hahahahahaha) Anyway--I only went to Blue b/c of the exercise but they kept me there when I quit the hard stuff. Now I am thinking I should drop myself back to Gold but I really LOVE the 3rd starch. Just me. YOu know all there is to know about the program so pick a color and try it out for a while.

I am glad to know that I am not the only person that is so addicted to their bathroom scales.. I have issues if I do not weight myself atleast once a day. So I almost have Dh convinced to do the entire program with me, instead of just dinner and weekends. I made it clear to him I was not cooking two different dinners so he would have to eat what I fix..lol So I am no the purple plan with the LA Lites, however I do not want to do the lites, frankly I can not afford to do them.. Why should I go in debt to lose weight?? IF I wanted to spend all that money and go into debt I would opt for surgery, not to struggle and do this the hard way. However my center is a big pusher and wants you to use their products, I just have to remind myself to stand firm and tell them NO!! So any suggestings as to how to supplement for the Lites, or if I should be on another plan, would be greatly appreciated.

This has already been a busy week, I did TO Sunday and Monday, then OP Tuesday and today, and of course TOM came today. So I am afraid I will not see the scale move until next week. I go for WI today so I will update as needed.

SAHM--just tell your center you aren't going to do the lites and they will change you to an all food plan. I am pretty sure Red is up from Purple but no idea what the additional food would be. Someone who knows will chime in on it. The center can't make you buy the Lites and they know it.

There is a lot in this month's Self magazine about breast cancer. A great website they recommended is www.YourDiseaseRisk.com and you can take different health test. Of course, my risk for breast cancer is slightly higher than average because of family history but other than that it showed I am doing a lot RIGHT to prevent it. Amazingly, one of the things it was specific about was weight! It actually said I am NOT overweight (I guess by cancer standards!). And for once not being tall was a plus for me too--lol. Whatever their chart--I LIKE it!!!

Anyway--thought some of you might like to check it out. Pretty interesting stuff.

GET HEALTHY--STAY HEALTHY!!!

Hello chickies,

How is everybody? I am have a great but very busy day so far.

PrazTeam, my name is Ulanda. I thought I listed it before but maybe I didn't. I am new to this type of stuff so I could have forgotten it. I sing on our Praise Team at church, is that where your screen name comes from?

Boo'sMom, I am looking forward to my NikeShox, I have tried on a pair and they felt great, but they weren't the color or anything that I wanted. I think I will appreciate these more because I earned them. Just really hoping that I will get them for Christmas.

Rebeca, your pictures are really nice. I told my husband about 3 1/2 years ago that I wanted to go to Rio DeJeniro (sp?). The people are just beautiful to me. How far did you live from there?

Well I just wanted to check in because I will be swamped for the rest of the day and don't know if I will get back. Everyone take care and have POP day!

Thanks for all the tips - that really helps me to just hang on and stick with it. Thanks for pics, too, from everyone! You all are great helpers for one another...I think it would be much harder w/o folks to check in with and share ideas. I can't usually check much on days I work, but enjoy reading and will try to keep up! Thanks for all of the sharing and tips!

Happy to report a weigh in this morning of 159.6. Not bad considering I had not officially weighed in about 2 weeks. Day 1 of TO is over and it really was painless. Day 2 is going well too.

Katie - on Gold plan, you get 2 proteins and the protein amounts vary. Raw weight for common proteins are 6 oz for chicken breast; 5 oz turkey; 5 oz fish, 2TB RF Peanut butter....I am doing your 6 week challenge and talked to my COD (FINALLY got the good counselor) about it today...and here's the breakdown she suggested (she called this Accelerated Program and said the slim downs have a bunch of good soy in them that help make this work):

2 days of TO
5 days of regular program using 1 slim down (P/S) each day
2 days of regular program
5 days of regular program using 1 slim down (P/S) each day
2 days of TO

QUESTION - any idea what's out there that is a substitute for JetStart and has anyone tried it and what are their thoughts on it? My COD thinks it really helps with metabolism (and their profit margin, I'm sure!)

Kristi- Great job on staying strong. I usually go out quite a bit for lunch, but it's to the same place with the same food so I know I will be good. Now, if we go out to eat, we usually plan it ahead of time (except for the pizza the other night) and I try to plan what I am going to eat before hand.

Nance- The LA dressings are really close to lite dressings as far as the nutritionals. I really like the honey mustard and the thousand island and they are so handy to put in my purse or my locker at work so I always have one. On the snacks, I only really like the cheese curls and I have found that they have to be really fresh for me to like them, if they have been sitting around for a while, they taste like cardboard. I do like Cassi and get the 100 calorie packs of the cheetos and doritos. They are usually enough to satisfy my snack cravings.

Pearl- I am glad that I could be an inspiration to someone. You are doing so awesome and I just know that with your super attitude and wonderful family, you are going to make it!!! Your outlook, attitude and words of wisdom inspire me every day to do better and be a better person. Than you!!!!

2befit- I wouldn't worry to bad about getting an extra fat every now and then. I don't think one time is going to throw you off balance.

Michelle- 4 days does not make a stall.:D Keep your chin up, your body is probably just adjusting. Try to keep more tabs on a weekly weight loss instead of everytime you go in. Are you doing the lites? You may have a reaction to soy if you do. You could also be allergic to some kind of food you are eating and that could be causing the bloat. I love pistachio's but if I eat them I get all bloaty because I am slightly allergic to them.

Katie- In southern CO. potatoes are a big crop too and they take time off there. Also when we lived in western CO, you could take the kids out of school for a week for hunting season, everybody that didn't go had a really easy week at school that week. Also great job on sticking to plan on your sad evening.
Did they move you to red because you were exercising like a mad woman? Purple with lites would be the same as what you are doing now, I would try that for a couple of weeks and if it doesn't do anything then see about going to gold with lites. Proteins are 2 oz. less and 1 less veggie.

Kim- So glad you are having a great day!!! Send some of those good feelings my way ok?

Angela- Welcome- Everybody is different. Most women do gain water weight before or during TOM. I usually never did, but the last 2 months I have seen a 2-3 lb gain the week before and a nice 3-4 lb loss a few days after TOM starts. You may just have a super nice loss when your TOM is over.

Rebeca- Awesome pictures. You are looking hot as always! Beautiful kids!

I think HeatherPP had said that she wouldn't get too much net time at work right now. She's probably super busy with her new job.

HeatherCP has gone MIA too. Anybody heard from Deets????

I woke up with a killer headache. I was planning on going to WI today but I think I will wait until tomorrow and try to get my workout in that I missed yesterday because I was so stinkin tired when I got home.

Have a super day chickies!!

Joni- WOOHOO on the new decade!!!! I bought some of the jetstart with my 20% off coupon. They gave a price break if you bought 7 packages and then I got the 20% off of that. I got them for about $1.65 a piece. I personally think they are very good. Kind of reminds me of a starbucks coffee frappachino minus the ice. It counts as a dairy and a fruit. I wouldn't have any idea on what you could sub for it.

Wow Rebeca, you look great! What beautiful children also.

Thanks for all of the plan advice ladies. I think that I will try gold and see what happens. With the slim fast and lunas, this is a lot of soy for me. I have found that Gas X helps a lot with the bloat and gas pain. Hopefully my sis is right. I just think that I really need a change!

Good morning, Chickies!

WI today was excellent. We have a new chick at the COD and she is very supportive and way cool... She uses all the little motivator tricks... for example, in our scale area there are several magnetic white boards with everyone's name on a magnet. I've looked for mine (glancing around while weighing) and never saw it. I just thought it was something they weren't keeping up with. So, after I WI today, this lady asked me if I moved my magnet to the 60 lb mark yet. I said I didn't think I had one. Well, we found it, clear over on the new client side - where I hadn't lost anything yet. What a treat to move it clear across the cubicle!http://www.filmhobbit.com/forum/images/admins/smilies/bcouch.gif

Katie - sorry about your friends.

Rebecca - http://www.soulcysters.net/images/smilies/ciao.gif good to see you! You have some pretty good looking kiddos to borrow!

Nance - they told me at my COD that they were discontinuing the salad dressings. I can't buy them anymore - I like the honey mustard - good to stick in the purse.

Joni - welcome to the 150s!http://www.filmhobbit.com/forum/images/admins/smilies/funky.gif

Hey http://www.soulcysters.net/images/smilies/wave.gif to everyone else - gotta run to a meeting!

Yeah--Lori has a new face!!! You look terrific and DD is a cutie, too. Glad you have a good newbie! Our newbies at COD always seem to still be pushy--just doing their job I suppose.

Katie--hope the added soy doesn't work you over too much and that it all works itself out over time.

Okay--NO MORE BRAGGING for me today. On the disease risks tests I took it showed my weight as good for breast cancer risk, but not a good risk indicator for heart disease and diabetes--bummer. I'm really okay--I took the other tests and I am in pretty great shape as far as "risks" go.

Ulanda - You may have posted your name (lovely!) and I probably missed it. I usually look at signatures for names (senility!). I'm the Director of Services at my church - I'm the Praise and Worship Leader, and I'm over the Video and Sound Departments. So yep, Prazteam is what I'm known as...

Rebeca - Your pictures are HOT and your "borrowed babies" are so beautiful! I'm so jealous of your (their) beautiful complexion! WOW!

Joni - I admire your determination! I hope this works for ya cutie! Congrats on the new decade!!! I'm hoping for a new one myself shortly!

Deb - Is your husband's first name Killer or Headache?!? (Sorry, I just couldn't resist!)

Lea Ann - Where have I been?!? You've only got 11 POUNDS TO GO?!?? Whoa!!! Or should I say Giddyup!?? Believe it or not, I get my "kicks" doing what I do. I take time out each day for myself, sometimes to read, listen to praise music, read a magazine, study a cookbook... but truly, I get my fuel from what I do for someone else. Actually, it's probably selfish, because it makes me feel great, so maybe all in all, I'm doing it for myself selfishly. Spiritually speaking, I believe that Jesus came to serve not to be served and I want to have a servant's heart. You're awesome!!!

Have you guys seen the "brocolli cole slaw mix" in the grocery? I got 2 bags from a friend (they didn't like it). It's brocolli, a little bit of carrot and cabbage. I knew I didn't want to make slaw out of it (yuk!) so I made a stir fry out of it. I added garlic, onions and Lite Soy. It turned out great! Yum. Not something I'd want to eat on a regular basis because of the salt in the soy, but definately a treat.

By the way, COD counselor wanted to know why we were eating so much chicken!?! Can you imagine??? DH got fussed at for eating steak once a week. Got fussed at for eating pork loin once, and we were "warned" to stay away from the limited foods and Lean Cuisines because they inhibit loss. So, we've been doing CHICKEN and fish... good grief! We alternate egg beaters with cottage cheese, prepare the chicken in different ways, and have tuna and tilapia every few days. Sometimes I think they just need something to say to make it look like they are doing their job!

DH asked about our (they know I'm doing this with him and even ask about me from time to time) doing TO and they said absolutely not. We are still losing, and we need to wait for a plateau before doing TO. So, we're holding off for now. As long as we're losing, I'm good with it!

Back to keying!

Good afternoon Ladies! WI was not so bad last night, I had the normal 2 lbs gain from Saturday, and had to explain *sigh* again to the counsellor that it was normal for me to gain, and *sigh* yes, I was on plan, look in my book if you like. However, I am down 1 lbs from last week, so I can now finally, officially move my ticker. I know realize what a great program this is. I am now in my 8th week of the program, and it looks like I will lose about 16 lbs in total (if I am on track this week). It took about 16 weeks when I was with Jenny Craig to lose the same amount. It is so true that you need to find a plan that works with you.

Katie-My heart goes out to your friends, but WTG on the NSV

Pearl-I love reading what are cooking! It gives me some great ideas!

Rebeca-What gorgeous god children (you are right about the part of giving them back ;))

I am scale addict as well, so I don't have a scale in my house, except for my food scale. Good thing it only weighs up to about 15 lbs. ;)

Pearl-have you tried ground turkey for turkey burgers, meatloaf and taco meat? You have to get the turkey breast for it to be really lean-but I think it's yummy!

Also-gardenburgers are great for breaking up the monotony of chicken and tilapia. And salmonburgers-yum! I just remembered I have some in the freezer!

I've never noticed the lean cuisines slowing down my weight loss-any slow-down is for other reasons:D

Julie Marie - I do a lot with ground turkey. Taco meat (I make my own seasoning) meatballs (I make my own sauce and seasoning), meatloaf, stirfry, soup, oh yeah!!! (Of course, DH probably just puts "chicken" down for anything that looks like poultry!)

Nance - your ticker makes it look like you've only got 20 pounds to go... ?

Does that happen a lot? Once our chickies reach goal do they fade away? Oh no! I love talking with everyone of you - you can't ever leave..... no more fairy dust for you.................... he he he.

I'm doing surprisingly well considering this is day two of TO and I was so nervous about doing this. Last year I quit the program during my first attempt at TO by myself and I was afraid the same thing would happen again. It's absolutely amazing what a difference your support has made this time around. Really amazing. I wonder if anyone has ever done a study on this phenomenon.... it can't be just me. Last time I felt so alone, like everyone else on the planet was having fun eating their yummy goodies and then there was me, all alone, starving and unhappy. Now, Viola! Instead of feeling alone and unhappy I feel empowered and part of something. Sorry to gush so much, but it is true. You Ladies make ALL the difference. I simply could not do this without your support. So.........
Thank You So Much Chickies. I owe you all big time.

Oh, BTW.... I just weighed myself and I'm down 3 pounds from yesterday morning!!!

Lori - thanks for the new picture!! Okay, now you can bring back that funny avatar that always makes me smile!

Rebeca - thanks for sharing the pics......yup, you're hot alright......hubby's got a keeper! Gotta ask if you really meant to say "25 hour a day" gym - I sure could use an extra hour in my day!

Pearl - I could read your posts all day long! I agree with your COD - as long as you're losing, stick with the plan. I agree that they must have been grasping at things to talk to your DH about. At least with women they can talk about "women" stuff like TOM, menopause, etc....I'm guessing their message was to make sure you add variety so you don't get bored. Now, you seem to have the most exciting menus out there (along with Cassi and Sommer and probably some others I don't know about), so I would just take this comment with a grain of salt. DH should ask them to share THEIR diary so he can see what they ate all week.....I think most of us eat chicken about half the time...at least I do. Chicken, eggbeaters, chicken, tilapia, chicken, tuna, chicken, morningstar grills, turkey breast repeat. I'm eyeballing your ticker waiting for the big TA DA moment for you. I've actually been in the high 150s for a long time. Too long. Gotta shake this up.

Regarding Take Off - my very good, successful on the program counselor knew I was doing take off and I mentioned I was doing it with my own concoction (meaning the Knudsen juice). She didn't have a hissy fit, but actually suggested that I would be better off doing TO with oranges....but she said only 2 oranges for the day. So for those that can't find the juice or prefer real food....go with oranges. Two oranges didn't seem enough to me, but that's what she suggested.

RedDeb - you don't fade away from here once you make goal (it's the LAW part of LAWL) - you go on the Maintainers thread and you check in every so often with us. I've actually read the Maintainers thread when I needed to read about long-term successes. I highly suggest it to anyone with about 30 minutes to spare. Glad you are having such good success with TO, you are right...our successes depend on the support we get here and (hopefully) at our center, planning and keeping a diary. Exercise helps too!

Gotta run so hi to all my fellow LAWL pals around the globe (okay, around North America!) Off to play some tennis!

Lea Ann - everytime I started to respond to a thread tonight, you had said exactly what I was going to say. I find that funny and interesting.

Pearl-that's funny about the chicken! Poultry and fish seem to be the only "safe" meats according to the COD! Ha! That's cool that you're in the ministry...I was pre-seminary when I first started college, but couldn't pass 3rd level Greek! Therefore...I became a neuropsych major. Lol. So related, I know. What denomination are you?

Rebeca-now, girl, HOW did you find a gym open 25 hours a day?! Last time I checked there were still only 24 hours in MY days... :dizzy:

Not such a good day for me. I've been pretty depressed today and I'm not feeling so well physically. I did go to WI though, but I haven't lost ANYTHING since last Friday. Grr. It might be my TOM coming up? I don't know, I lost track. But I'm frustrated in general, because I KNOW I've been good. My fitday calculations never go past 1500 cals, and are more often closer to 1250-1300 cals. I haven't cheated at all...COD says I need to eat more in the beginning of the day, but that's hard for me, because I like to eat in the evenings. And I just don't have time in the mornings to fix anything bigger than some fruit and yogurt or something. I already get up at the butt-crack of dawn (I have to be to work BY 7am). Anyway...I'm frustrated and sad and just needing to vent.

Rebeca--I sure could use that extra hour you get in the day--LOL. Is it a Brazilian time thing??

Pearl--you are not selfish--just really really sweet to all of us! WOW--girl!! You're not only approaching a new decade you get to move a whole century--WOWOWOWOWWOW!!!!!

reddeb--your losses are amazing. I LOVE the support and friendship here--sometimes I think it works because misery loves company--LOL.

Nance--are you sure your not going through puberty instead of post-meno?? LOL. It could very well be all the healthy eating--getting rid of all the toxins in your body--makes sense to me anyway.

Joni--great minds.... You beat to the punch on Rebeca's extra hour though. I would totally waste it on sleep--hehe.

Meagan--hang in there girl--as long as you are following the plan it will come off--for a lot of us it happens in spurts so you may have a slow week then make up for the next week or so.

Okay - here's my BEFORE picture (see avatar)...this picture just cracks me up. I guess it was taken about 40 years ago.

Meagan - as long as you are doing the program the scale will move eventually. Make sure you are eating all you are supposed to. I say keep your calories around 1,500, but I'm no expert. Hang in there and see what the scale says next weigh in - I'm sure you'll have a nice loss!

Evening chickies! OMG my scale at home had the lowest number I've ever seen in the past, oh 2 YEARS!!!!!!!! :D Hopefully it will still be that low on Friday!

WARNING, TMI alert - Last night I woke up about 2:30 a.m. with the MOST HORRIBLE pain in my , well, I think it was constipation, but HOLY friggin cow!! I thought I was going to puke from the pain, and it wasn't even when I was trying to go potty. It was just laying in the bed. Finally I got up and walked downstairs to make some of the tea (Natures reply), and I came back upstairs and got back in bed and drank a few sips and dozed of, and this morning I was ok, but I still haven't been to the potty yet! Has anyone ever felt that type of pain in your rear? Sorry to be gross, but I didn't know who to ask!

Been POP today, so that's good. Sorry no personals, but I am exhausted!

Hi all!

Jenni- I have IBS, and yes, I have had that kind of pain before. Several months ago I had a bad instance, it felt like my colon was having a seizure. I was screaming and puking. DH did not know what to think. Scared him a little. Anyways, I am glad you are feeling better today. Drink the tea and take some stool softeners. Hope it all comes out okay, hehehe. Sorry, couldn't resist. I am a 13 year old at heart.

Joni- LOVE the before pic. That kid has mischief written all over her face.

Reddeb- When our chickies go away we really miss them. I know what you mean about the support around here. I would be lost without you ladies. My DH tires very quickly on the subject of LAWL. Of course, he does think that I should be infinitely interested in car talk of any kind. Men, you can't live with them and you just can't force them to go on LAWL. I know, I tried.

Megan- Plateaus suck. They are the F word of the dieting world. They do end however. Stick to it, I promise that it will get better. If you are feeling low and crappy, maybe it is time for some pampering. Take a bath, drink some tea, paint your toenails, rent a comedy, whatever it is that comforts you. I used to comfort myself with food. Since being on LAWL I realized that I love relaxing with a cup of coffee or tea, I love wearing sweaters, and I love playing games on my cell phone. The point is, find your comfort zone. Do some nice stuff for yourself, and do not forget that eating right is an amazing, wonderful thing that you are doing for your body, even when the lbs are not flying off.

Pearl- Selfish? No, lady, I think not. I wish you were my neighbor! Thanks for helping boost everyone around here.

Nance- I think that is a real possibility. Considering the amount of water you are drinking, your body may very well be cleaning out a lot of garbage. You may want to try an herbal detox tea nightly for a couple of weeks to help facilitate that. What a great feeling to know that you are ridding yourself of toxins that make you sick and overweight.

Rebeca- I, too, wondered about that extra hour. Can you purchase that at your COD, and if so, will it speed up your weight loss?

I am heading over to my sisters for our family card night. I made a pot of OP chicken soup to take. I am POP on gold today except that my sweet pre-school teacher brought me a tamale this afternoon. She loves to share her amazing cooking talents with us. It was small, and awesome. Can I just say that I could live on the Chocolate Peppermint Stick Lunas for the rest of my life. I love them, and the Dulce De Leche. Have a great night everyone!

I went in tonight for my WI and YAY ME!!! I am down another 4 lbs.. WHOO HOOO for the SV!! So I was asking questions about the LA Lites.. (I am not going to go in debt to do this diet) and was told to just leave them off of my diet.. They did not change my plan or anything.. I even asked about the exchanges for them but was give the same response.

I will have to post more later I have a really cranky baby on my hands..

Katie - I have IBS too, but it hasn't flared up in quite some time. And, NEVER like that! Usually it is the opposite, and nothing will stay in for long. In fact, I lost a ton of weight on IBS! Back before my daughter was born. Hope you had a good time with your sis!

SAHM - Congrats on the loss girl! And I know what cranky babies are like. Mine are 6 and 8 now, but oh do I remember! They can't stand it if you are doing anything other than paying attention to them. (Kinda like most men.. heh heh)

Nance - I had to detox too, but I always have zits, so nothing different there. HOWEVER< My friend asked me why my complexion was looking so much better these days.... hmmmmmmm never thought about it being the diet. She said it must've been the breakup with my fiance! But no, THAT has caused me nothing but grief, and apparently brought a bout of IBS on, and flared up my sebhorriec (spelling?) dermatitis (Skin issue).

I bet once you've detoxed you'll notice cool things like better skin though! I know being off the coke (acola) has me feeling really good now. More energy, no caffeine problems, but man at the start it was pretty rough!

Have a good night ladies!!

Now lets see if I can't screw it up this weekend. :( Everyone else, your all doing so great, so lets keep this up!! Who watched BL last night?? What about ole' girl screaming she needed a signature???!!! Crazy! :nono: She might be the downfall for RED group if she doesn't behave herself...

Jenn--I couldn't agree more on BL--I really just don't like her--she is a mean person. I was really hoping she would get the boot. I really like Nelson--that stunk. It may get uglier now that the men know they are being picked off one by one. Congrats on your amazing losses!

I'll catch up with everyone else at work!

Good morning girls!

Darn! I forgot about BL last night! I was too busy running around the house so I could be done with everything and watch the South Park season premier at 10. (Sick humor, I know, but it's warped like me).

I couldn't post yesterday because I was moving desks yesterday and had the computer and everything else all apart. I will catch up on everyone's posts throughout the day though.

Hope the 2nd day of TO went well for everyone doing it. I forgot my bottle of juice at work last night and I had 1/2 of it left. So I called COD and the Mgr said to have 1/2 cantaloupe and increase my water. Then I remembered some of you saying you had 1/2 cantaloupe each day of TO, so I only had 1/4 in case she was wrong and added 32 oz more water for a total of 96oz. Either way it was a yummy change!

My scale was acting up this morning, so I won't know what I lost until I go WI today at lunch. I couldn't get a consistent number - it had like a 4lb discrepancy. Either way, even the highest number was lower than any number I've seen before, so I'm hopefull.

Have a great day everyone, and GL at WI for all those going today. Catch y'all later!

Morning, Ladies,

Well, TO is finally over and I'm actually up from my WI yesterday BUT, I started TOM and I'm thinking that may have messed me up because I was POP for the two days. I've decided I like doing TO. Wasn't nearly as bad as I had anticipated. Yeah me - I did it!

Pittie Momma: WTG! Good for you, girl! Doesn't it feel good when the numbers go down, down, down?? You are losing so quickly - you must be very disciplined and motivated.

Katie: Sounds like you had a fun night with friends and family, and wtg on the nsv. That cake sure sounds delicious. I can't wait to wear a sweater this winter. I usually can't wear them because I'm always hot, but I'm hoping that as I lose the pounds I'll start to cool off. Also, I feel even bigger with a sweater on.....

Jenni: Why did you stop the coke? I drink two diet cokes a day, plus I have 2 cups of coffee in the morning. What made you decide to give up the caffeine???? I also have noticed a clearer complexion! Even with TOM starting today - no bumps at all. That's gotta be one of the advantages of getting older. No PMS, no cramps, no zits.

SAHM: You are amazing! Four pounds.... that's a huge loss! I like to imagine that with every pound lost my heart is saying "thank you". It can't be good to be lugging around an extra person which is what I'm basically doing. WTG! You are one strong Chickie....

Joni: I love the picture of you. Ahhh, the good old days when we could play outside all day with all the kids in the neighborhood without our moms worrying about us. No seatbelts, playing kick the can after dark in the summer, boys punching each other instead of shooting each other, etc. etc... it was fun, wasn't it???? I miss the 60's and 70's!!!

Well, I'm off to walk the dogs. Hello to everyone I missed!

Howdy! WI again today, I think the scale will not move. I feel like Adam Sandler trying to convince the golf ball to go in the hole (Can't remember the movie name) only it's me trying to convince the scale to move.....

Everyone sounds like they are doing so well, proud of you all. I say keep it up! So glad to have your support and direction. This is the best place ever...I told my COD that I didn't want to purchase the web stuff for LAWL that I had already found the best support group out their & that it was free, the lady visiting w/ a counselor next to me popped over and asked where! I told her I would write it down for her before I left....I am probably now black listed at the center.....oh well!

Miss Ryan

Good morning ladies......havn't posted lately, but I have been reading your posts. So, much has happened in the last week, I can hardly keep up!!!

Just thought I would let everyone know that at my WI on Tuesday I was down 2.4 from the weekend!!! I didn't know if I was going to be able to do this or not, but like you all said.....it's a slow progession. I'm glad I got to move my weight tracker!!!! AND....I'm walking 3 miles a day!!

Congrats on all of your accomplishments, and welcome to all the newbies!!! I'm still a newbie too, and you will find a great support group here!!!

I am so happy I found this place, or I wouldn't make it!!!

Hope all my TO buddies survived......it was really easy for me; helps when you have nothing on your social calendar! Here's some WPD for all of us as yet another weekend quickly approaches!:dust:

Jenn - First congrats on an awesome TO. Plan your weekend and you should do okay; don't plan and you'll be sorry come Monday!
I'm caught up in BL too; a little too much boo hooing from the red team gals last night when Nelson got the boot. Takeaways for me last night were to (a) take my multi-vitamin, (b) you can use your treadmill bars for pull ups by laying on the tread part-head towards front of machine - grabbing the bars and pulling yourself up (c) I don't work out hard enough!
Cassi - anxious to hear this afternoon's report and I'm impressed that you thought to call your COD about a sub for your juice. Enjoy tonight's event (saw that on the daily menu thread). What??? you don't think I'm still cute?? "you were so cute."
SAHM - congrats on your loss too. If you've never been on a plan that used lites, perhaps your COD put you on the right plan from the get go. I'd ask again when you go to be sure. Plus, if you're having good losses, the plan you are on is apparently working.
Miss Ryan - WTG on your losses too......keep on truckin!
Jenni - glad you are feeling better. Thankfully, I have never had those problems.
Katie - great job last night with the soup and coffee. I need to figure out a way to get my friends to do card nights and fun things like you do...or I have to move to Idaho.

Morning all! Not much to report, just sitting at work getting ready for the flood of kids that is sure to start soon!

Kristi- It sure does. In fact, I think that I had forgotten just how good it feels.

Jenn- yay!!!! What a great loss!

Reddeb- You will cool off. I have gone from hot all of the time to cold all of the time. I sleep in warm jammies every night now. It gets really cold here in the winter, and I am kind of dreading that because I am afraid that I will freeze!

Cassie- GL at WI!!!!!

Miss Ryan- Good for you chickie. Like someone else here said, slow and steady wins the race.

Michelle- You rebel you! I brag about this place too.

Angelica- Good to see you! I will post it in the recipe thread.

Good morning to the rest of you, lets have a great, POP day!

How do you all do this?? Keeping track of ALL the posts, several threads, and reply to people by personal notes for each? I only got like 3-4 of you straight, it's easier when there is a picture and your name under the login name, or in the signature part. Wow, I get dizzy trying to get you chicks apart. Anyway, good going to all you TO! Very jealous, didn't know if I should have done the same, after being on the program for bout a month. Boo's Mom said that I was worrying too much, and should just follow the program as is. So I didn't asked. Besides, did a search of the K-Juice web site, and there is no local distruibutor that that juice... Oh well, hope we all have a POP day!! I had a snack attack last night....

Good Morning Everyone---
You guyz just notice everything dont you???
Let's get one thing straight BRAZILIANS HAVE NO NOTION OF TIME because all we ever do is to sick in a hammock watching a beautiful sunset by the ocean and drink BRAHMAS (brazilian beer) hehehehe...and that is exactly what i am going to be doing in 60 days!

Joni- Do hubbys ever notice when they have a keeper???? My never does! But thanks anyways!

NANCY- I have found the Kjuice at my local BI-LO! You will probably find one too, its suppose to be on the health food section and it costs $3.00 here! HOpe this helps... also dont stress about the weight loss, this should be a fun journey not a stressful one!

Hi all!

Cassi - good luck with WI after TO.

Joni - love the picture and the smile, after watching BL - I figure I don't work out hard enough either - but mind you I don't want to have to puke after a workout.

Katie - awesome NSV at card night - that is will power - sounds like you are back in full swing

Rebeca - 60 days in Brazil sounds nice - enjoy your time back with family

I've had a migraine most of the week so I didn't eat enough on Mon or Wed as I just didn't have the appetite. I am back on track now - the good news is I didn't binge on bad foods just didn't eat enough which we all know is just as bad.

I can't weigh in until Saturday so I have 2 days to get the water up and the retention out!

Canadian Thanksgiving this weekend. Looking forward to a long weekend. I am cooking on Sunday for a few people. I really do love cooking - hoping the BF has his dish pan hands ready to help with the dishes - that is the part I don't like.

Have a good POP Thursday!

I'm trying catch up with all the posts.I've have not had much time for the computer this week.

I did the TO on Tuesday and Wed. I started FF on Mon. Had about 4 oz of the drink. Then I went in for WI. They told me to stop the FF and do the TO with the Lites and fo back to the NO Lites plan. Only take to lites for the TO. But I'm on the purple without the lites. I've asked about doing that before they told that it would mess up my weightloss. it was not the same person. Does anyone else to this? On monday my WI was 156.4 and Wed WI was 152.8 :carrot: today I'm back on plan without Lites. I HOPE THIS WORKS. I hope you can understand that I'm saying.

Joni – OK… sorry to offend… you ARE a cutie! :) As for the Jetstart, it’s kinda like the Starbucks Doubleshot, but I think LAWL adds some soy or something. I forget. Anyhoo… I bought 8 of them and drank them for a week for breakfast, and had a SlimFast for lunch and didn’t lose anything that week at all. COD told me to eat real food the next week and I lost. Just me. They’re ok, but I think if you want a coffee shot, you could maybe get the Starbucks new low fat one and count as a dairy? I’m not sure, though, since I haven’t done more than glance at the label.

MickeySue – Deb is right – four days does not a stall make! Even though I WI MWF, I usually only see a loss two of those days, and sometimes only one. Be patient. You didn’t gain it all at once and you won’t lose it all at once.

Rebeca – The pics of you and your borrowed children are beautiful!

Kimphin – What detox tea did you drink? I tried one kind, but I couldn’t even drink it because it smelled so bad. I threw the whole box out. I have been liking the Celestial Seasonings Blueberry Tea, though. With a pkt of Splenda, it’s like dessert.

Pearl – Call me stupid, but I never got “Prazteam” either. I was thinking “Praz” as part of a name or something – with a short a like apple, and then maybe team for you and your sugar honey pie (or whatever you are calling him today). When you say “Prazteam” with a long a (like pray), it makes much more sense! Duh! And did you say “selfish”? You? You give so much to us on the board, and I know you give so much of yourself everywhere else that selfish is a word that would NEVER be used to describe you!

Katie – Glad you made it through the viewing ok. What a strange accident. Stuff like that makes me never want to leave my family for a second. On a happier note, I hope gold is going well for you, and that you are adjusting to the soy. The bars are a nice sweet treat! I told my COD that before LAWL I was eating all natural foods, no chemicals, now I am spending a year eating two of their bars a day, and will spend another year in maintenance with one a day. I told them they were like my pusher getting me addicted to these bars, and then they were going to take them away and leave me hanging.! And WTG on staying OP at card night! I need some of that willpower…

Christi – Congrats on being firm with DH. He’ll benefit from the healthier food, and you’ll benefit from less stress! With regard to the Lites, you can get an all food plan, like Lea Ann said. What plan are you on? I’m surprised they didn’t move you up a plan since you’re not doing lites. I would guess if you’re not doing lites you would be on red? Hope the babies are less cranky today.

Lori – Like the new pic. Cool about the magnet.

Carol – WTG on the WI. You’ve been making steady progress. Now we need to see that new pic!

Reddeb – WTG on the WL! I know this forum really has helped me a bunch! I like the individual counseling at the COD, and I like WI 3x/week. But you’re right – you could feel all alone if it wasn’t for this place. These girls are awesome! Glad we could help you have a successful TO this time.

Meagain – I know how you feel. I’m sure the good ways will catch up with your body. One thing that I’ve done is alternate when I have my starch. I will treat myself to a 2oz bagel once or twice a week with a wedge of laughing cow cheese, and a fruit for breakfast. Then I have P, V, V for dinner. Load up on broccoli and other filling veggies and you won’t miss the starch. Also, try planning a week out at once. When you know what you’re having ahead of time you can pack your breakfast and lunch the night before. Sorry you’re having a bad time.

Jenni – Glad you’re feeling better.

Jen – WTG on the TO loss!

KMG – Welcome back!

Momo – I’ve heard someone else do lites just during TO. Hey, if it worked, just take it, right? I think maybe they didn’t want you to do unlimited, and in your case you are physically able to do the bars? WTG with the WL, though.

Ulanda, Angela, Miss Ryan, Nancy, Nance, Shannon, Evette – Good morning!

Hi all! Pretty quiet day today, not a WI day, so no new news. I'm happy to be done with TO!

Pearl - I know that it is sad when some people 'graduate' and stop posting, but I know that I will be here for a while, and I love reading your words of inspiration!

Jenni - Yikes on the *** pain! DH gets that every now and then too. Hope the problem is eliminated soon, so to speak...;) ALso, glad you cleard up that being off the Coke thing (acola). Had me a little worried!

SAHM - great losses on TO! It doesn't seem right that they would not increase your plan for not using the lites, unless they had you down for non-lites all along. Talk to a different counselor and make sure, because you may be getting too few calories if it is wrong.

Jenn - I saw the Biggest Loser last night - and yes, she was a crazy woman! Actually my DH just called me at work and asked what I was yelling at the TV for last night (he was in bed already) - I was screaming at HER to get a grip! The ladies on the red team need to get a grip, I think. It's too early in the copmpetition to get nasty. Kai looks like a big troublemaker too.

Cassi - Moving desks counts as exercise!

Hi to everyone else - have a good day!

Pittie momma and KMG- I see you are in Aurora, what center do you guys go to? I am in Naperville, I go to the one on 59- or at least I was going, I have been AWOL for a while. It would be so awesome to know someone else out here that is doing this.

The club I have been waiting all summer for opened this week. Today is the first day I have been able to get in and get a good workout. I did 30 min cardio and some upper body work. My arms are shaking right now as i try to type. I hope this will be the boost i need to start losing again. I have not been that POP lately, but now that the club is open I have no excuse.

Cassi - we must have been posting at the same time. The De-Tox tea is Yogi Tea (?) I will check when I get home. I actually did not have it hot, I put the bag in a glass with ice, microwaved for 1minute, added more ice and drank it cold. It was pretty good - I didn't put splenda in it 'cuz it was pretty sweet already. It could all be hooey, who knows?

Hey chickies,

How is everyone today. I really do love the support, encouragement and laughs that take place on this thread. Together we can get this job done.

I missed the first half of BL, so I happen to see Nelson getting picked by the blue team because the red team had a tie. I think the ladies have gotten themselves in a little hot water too early in the game, but we'll see.

Today is a rather quiet day in the office and I kind of like it. I have some paperwork piled up that I will take care of after lunch.

Ok, so I am thinking about trying the Luna bars again, Can anyone tell me what their favorite one is that they use in place of the LA bars. I didn't like the ones I tried before and decided that it just wasn't worth it.

Rebeca, are the beaches nude? Or are those just the bathing suits of choice? I have always wanted to visit Rio as a little girl, it looks so beautiful. What is the language mostly spoken...Spanish??

Have a wonderful day ladies!

Thanks Ladies for all the encouragement and "will power dust". I am really impressed with the weight loss and I know realistically it won't be like this every week, although it would be nice :) Congrats to all of you POP and losers. Its a great feeling. DH and I managed to get in a walk yesterday evening in addition to doing my video workout. I was really pleased with that.. Now if I could just get that kick in my butt today and get something done..LOL

Have a good day ladies and Best Wishes to you all.

Cassi - I don't recall reacting to the odor, but I also really like Arizona's Diet green tea, so maybe I'm just used to it?

Lisa - Good for you going and doing a hard workout! It is said that you should eat protein within 30 min of working out (had a friend who was a trainer) so the Luna bar should be good. I on the other hand, dragged home from the gym last night and took a precautionary Advil! I went down to the basement to put clothes in the washer and seriously contemplated staying down there rather than crawl up the stairs!

I just walked into an incredible deal! We have several Amish/mennonite (sp?) communities scattered around the area I live. They have a really cool grocery/dry goods store that I patronize 6xs a year or so....any how they do railroad goods (dented boxes, cases that are close to being out of date, overstock from the factories) as well as their own homemade goodies...ww pastas, soup mixes etc. They were having a great sale on snack bars....which just so happened to include pria, luna, and kashi bars! I got 75 bars for $4 !!! And they are within their best by dates so yeah! I just might feel guilty enough to buy something from COD tonight...maybe some of their coffee you guys keep talking about.

Oh, BTW my son passed his karate exam, moving on to the next belt and sparring....I am not sure I can continue to take him to class now! I watch some of the other boys practice sparring for a tournament the other night...I think one got a broken nose and another will not come back to class without a cup, they get pretty brutal...dad's gonna have to step up soon and do the karate thing. I would be running around with ice packs and Tylenol!

Jenni - WTG on the loss! As for the problems you had physically, I have the opposite problem! In fact, I'm dreading doing TO for the first time because of what it might do to me. Yep, my DH says I can poo on demand! Now there's a talent not everyone has! :lol3: -- I was just thinking, maybe you need a day for POP - Pushing Out Poo! (I'm sorry, no, really, I am!)

Katie - I REMEMBER some of your neighbors, pushy, nosey, so no wonder you want me for a neighbor! Next to them, I must look pretty good! :)

SAHM = 4 POUNDS!!! :bravo: :bravo: :bravo: - Cranky baby as in dh or baby?!? Sometimes they're hard to tell apart!

Nance - one thing I've noticed is the dryness is better on my face. Still get an occasional zit, but what the heck - It's gotta be the hormones of PreMeno.

Katie - Can you mom mail me a slice of lemon cake?!? (okay, just kidding...) (I'll PM my address later!)

PittieMomma - You're not bragging, you're posting!!! That's what this group is all about! We rejoice in the successes and we commiserate in the gains and we kick patootie when it's called for... Long distance of course so it's not as painful!

Lea Ann - You are WAY too sweet! I'll bet those little gals are sweet like their mom and I can SEE they're cute like her! I hope you've got a baseball bat by the door - cause pretty soon, you'll be a need'n one!

Cassi - You're awesome as usual. I'm so amazed by your dedication to LAWL! What an inspiration to all of us!

Reddeborah - Congrats on the successful TO! I can't wait to hear about your next WI!

Michelle - I think the COD's need to take notice of what's being accomplished out here! I've noticed a lot of Weight Watcher's advertizements on TV lately talking about the success rate of those who attend meetings regularly versus those who don't. I wonder what our success rate is here compared to those doing LAWL without this site?!?

Miss Ryan - Reading and not posting is affectionately know here as "lurking". 2.4 pounds is awesome! WTG!!!

Kathy - Okay girlie, we'll let you slide THIS time!! Glad you're back on track! You can do this and you DESERVE to do this!!!

Nancy - I open up 3FatChicks and make it 1/2 the size of my screen. Then I open up notepad and do the same. Then, as I read each post, I can go down to notepad and make my entries. I don't always post to everyone - especially when there are so many, but I do try. I also come out here 2-3 time or more a day to keep up and stay motivated! Best support group I've ever had the honor and priviledge of being a part of!! Also wanted to say that I couldn't find the K juice here either, but I found the hollywood diet juice (48 hour juice) at Walgreens BYGO so I bought several for use later. Seems to be the same thing... As for the scale not moving - remember, you didn't gain it overnight and you won't lose it overnight! Also, your ultimate goal may be to lose weight, but you've chosen a plan that will change your eating habits for a lifetime (hopefully) and with LAWL come better health, better blood work, better PhD checkups and altogether a better feeling about yourself! So even if the scale doesn't move for a little while - think of what you are accomplishing!!! YOU DESERVE IT!!

Shannon - sounds like you've got a full weekend planned! If BF doesn't have his dish pan hands ready - they can be dish pan hands AFTER he does the dishes!!! He just needs to show up with his hands!!! :lol3: (if he can keep them off of you!)

Evette - you LURKER you!! Remember - TOMs pass... of course, they come round again... (which I'm thankful for!)

Cassi - with that smile looking back at me - and all the advise you've given me - I could never call you stupid!!! When I took over the PraiseTeam here at church (where I am right now), I needed an email address for everyone to use to contact me and I didn't want to give out the "spam" one. So I created that one and it's stuck... And once again, let me remind you that IF I give anything here, it is because I GET so much here!!

Kim - thanks a bunch! Can't wait to hear about your WI! (Did I mention that I love the picture?!) The glasses are my style!

Lisa - NO MORE EXCUSES!!! POP from now until that scale moves!!! (and I don't mean to another room!) :drill: - YOU'RE out of shape?!? Now I feel like the blob that ate Texas!!! Good grief! With everyone talking about being "pear shaped" yesterday, I've decided that in lieu of the season - I'm PUMPKIN shaped!!!

Joni - Okay - I agree with Cassi---You WERE cute! Now, you're gorgeous, beautiful, magnificent, adorable, and okay - CUTER!!! So there!!!

As for me - I'm at church this morning printing off more cds for Pastor, waiting for a repairman to look at our sound system and hopefully fine tune it a little, and obviously - NOT keying at all!!! Good grief! I'm never going to finish this job by Sunday...

Scale wouldn't give me a reading today - at least it didn't laugh at me or anything! Probably could tell I wasn't in the mood!

You ladies are the Cream of the crop, oops - that would be the Fat Free Half and Half of the crop!?!?!?
You're a bunch of good eggs - oops - that would be egg BEATERS!

How about - You're awesome?!?
Now, get that menu planned, fill up the water bottles, and stay POP!!! I want to hear great things!!!
Hugs,

hkychik

Katie - glad to see you posting more! I love the choco peppermint luna bars too. They are da bomb! Did anyone in your family keep on losing after you BL contest? I must have missed it - who ended up winning the whole thing? Where is Kristie (Yoga Girl)? Give her a  for me!

All you successful TOers out there - yay you! http://www.soulcysters.net/images/smilies/whew.gif Group support is great, huh! I'm too much of a coward to do TO.http://www.soulcysters.net/images/smilies/vroam.gif

Hey Lisa - good to see you. Can't answer your lemon/lime question...to me, citrus is citrus! In the plan book a lemon equals a fruit and a lime equals a fruit. I meant to tell you my big box of Penzy's spices arrived and I made the breakfast sausage using a lb of turkey -- oh my goodness is that stuff good!! I can't wait to try all the others. I do have to watch the salt intake...so everything in moderation!

Cassi - Donny Osmond was just on a show I was watching on TV. I can't believe he's a grandfather!! He's my age (48). He's performing in the broadway musical Beauty and the Beast (I guess he's in New York). They showed an old clip of the Donny & Marie show and I thought of you and the tix you won for the Marie concert....

Evette - thanks for checking in....I'm watching your ticker closely!

Little Blue Cat/Nancy - Here's a tip to help with posting. Go to your start button and left click and open the Wordpad. You can type your stuff in the Wordpad document and go back and forth to the LAWL site. When you are done with your typing and reading, cut and paste all the info in your Wordpad doc into the LAWL reply box. It really makes it easier for me. ALSO, if you are having trouble finding the juice, don't forget you can substitute catalope or my COD suggested 2 oranges for each day of TO.

2bfit- There are couple of nude beaches there but closing is optional (just kidding)! No the bathing suits are just mini compared to us bathing suits I am not sure way. Maybe it has some to do with the weather being so beautiful and hot year around! The official language is PORTUGUESE and there is one state that speaks portuguese as a second language and german as first. we dont speak spanish at all! But dress code in brazil is very minimal even business suits, everybody is always in shape its just ridiculous!

Michelle-so you're going to go back to that Amish store and buy us all TONS of bars and ship them to us, right?! That's an AMAZING deal!!! I love Amish markets, but a lot of their foods are so high fat, b/c they're so rich and homemade.

Hey girls, this is an at work post, so no time for personals except for

PEARL- OMG I almost fell off my chair with your POP definition! You are soooo crazy!!!

And regarding the why did I stope drinking soda question - I was drinking the REAL stuff, not diet, and I can't stand diet, so rather than "get used to it" as so many people have said to me, I opted to not drink any of it. So, I have my one cup of coffee every morning with 1 Tbsp of non dairy creamer (counts as 1 condiment), and the rest of the day I drink water only, and sometimes, some 100% not from concentrate OJ or Pineapple juice if I need the fruit exchange.

Keep up the good work ladies!

Okay ladies-I need a boost . . . .

I'm feeling really funky-and not in a very "cheerleading" mood-so I haven't been posting much-except to answer a few questions.

Our coach said that we'd probably feel depressed this week after the marathon-you know-we've been training for a specific goal for 9 months. You're bound to feel a little lost once the goal is reached. (I actually felt this way a little bit when I hit my first 50 lb goal).

Add to that a HUGE weight gain from nearly a week off-plan. I did TO the last 2 days and lost about half of what I gained-but still . . . .I know that I'm still holding water-my muscles are still in the repairing mode. But I didn't necessarily choose wisely when it came to food. Especially Monday. Sunday nite-I didn't eat much-too tired to care really. But I couldn't get enough to eat on Monday-nothing seemed to make me full. So-I'm paying for it now, I know it'll come off. But it's hard to not be discouraged.

Good thoughts my way please! I have so much to be excited for-I've got buttloads of paperwork to get started on for the adoption, I started the classes this week, we're sending in the contract with the check(!) next week. It's all good. I have a new goal, right? What the heck is wrong with me? Why does a number on a scale mess with my head so much when I've got so much to be proud of and excited for?

Okay-I'm done . . . . .

winkie03
10-05-2006, 02:06 PM
Juliemarie: Don't be discouraged. It's only a number! Look back and see how much you've accomplished. 90 pounds is a huge accomplishment. You have SO much to be excited about...an adoption and the weight that you've already lost. Not to mention a healthier lifestyle. With that said...I just want to tell you that you're doing great girl!! Keep your head up and  here's to good thoughts! You're amazing!

Juliemarie- I havent been here in a while... Are you adopting a child? Please fill me in.... And congrats on such a great achievement... I am way too lazy to do the third of what you do physically just because i am lazy (hey at least I am honest), and you do have the right to feel moody sometimes, we all do, specially after accomplishing so much! You go girl!!!

JM – So you’re in a funk. So what? We ALL get there. And you (sort of) knew to expect this. You’re just normal. As far as WL goes, you have accomplished double what I have, and much, much more than most people. You were hungry on Monday because your body was in recovery mode. I’m surprised you went through TO so quickly! You said it yourself that your body is holding on to water for muscle repair. Completing that marathon (and besting your last time by 2 HOURS) is amazing. It’s also an amazing toll on your body. You need a few more days to recover. Just by losing this much, you’ve changed your eating habits. You know what you need to do to continue, and you’ll do it. When you have so much to lose, sometimes a weekend or day or two off is what you need to regain your momentum to move forward. I know. I did it this weekend for the first time in 6 months. I am now back to WL mode. I think the break just helped me to keep my sanity. And since it was planned, and for a specific, short period, I knew it wasn’t a “binge”, but there was a beginning and an end.

You met your goal, and now you have another one (adoption), and that one is not going to have the disappointment feelings after that’s done. You’ll have so much more to look forward to.

Sending :goodvibes and  your way!

Rebeca-

Thanks-and yes-I've just started the process to adopt a little girl from Vietnam. I may take a boy-but as a single mother-I thought it would probably be better to get a girl . . .I don't know-I go back and forth on this. I shouldn't care about the gender of a child, right? I have friends that just got back form Vietnam with their little precious boy and while they were gone I went ahead and sent in the application. I've been thinking about it for awhile now-but was worried about he cost and whether or not I make enough to care for a child (daycare, etc). But-even the agency says that it's a misconception that you have to be wealthy to adopt-the important thing is a loving home for a child that needs one. They say a lot of folks don't consider adoption because they don't think they would be approved (which is what I was going through-but decided-what the heck?). That made me feel a lot better. So-wish me luck!

Cassi-you're right-I probably shouldn't have done TO so quickly-I was thinking I'd wait a few days. But when i got on the scale Tues-I FREAKED out! And didn't have a perfect TO-but it did work some. The carb cravings are gone-but I was so hungry-which is unusual for me on TO. My body probably wanted more food-and I gave it some:D Not starches though-just extra protein and some applesauce and strawberries.

Thanks for the hugs . . .

Juliemarie- The adimiration that i had for you just trippled! YOu are such a loving woman with a great heart! you are saving a child from hunger and misery and giving them the best life they could ever have, you are an angel that was meant to save someone! I am sooooo proud to know such a caring person as you! Whether a girl or a boy just follow your heart! That is a reason why God put in your heart that a girl might be better or a boy, but you will know when you look at their face when its meant to be! I am soooo thrilled for you!!!!

I lived in Santa Barbara d'Oeste SP. I did a LOT of traveling while I was there. I went to Belo Horizonte for a few days. I love it there I WANT TO GO BACK SO BAD I would like to take my family as well.

Good afternoon girls! TO was kind to me. I lost 3.8 since Monday! Woo Hoo - I am back on track. Even though I gained this past weekend, I think I needed it. I've been good with only the occasional slip for six months.

I met with the manager of the COD today at WI and she was looking at my book and saying "Can we hang this up? You are doing everything perfectly. You're really taking this seriously (meant in a good way)." It was great to hear. She asked if I plan the night before and I told her I do it for the week and she was impressed. I felt like I had gotten a gold star from the teacher (lol). It was nice to hear, anyway. So... back OP for me, and I am re-engergized and recharged!

Hope everyone else is having a POP day!

JM--add me to your long list of admirers!! What you have done and are doing is absolutely amazing in every way. I never thought about the "let down" of post marathon but it makes sense when you so focused on something so huge then sudden;y--it's over. But now you have the ultimate goal in sight--a child to raise. What a lucky child this will be. Parents always feel they are the lucky ones but I think all these loved and adored babies are just pretty darn lucky, too! You will make a fabulous mother--whether is a boy or girl (of course I am partial to girls!). Your body will line itself out--I have no doubt this gain is temporary and you'll be back on track pronto. Take care of yourself and keep us posted on the proceedings. What's the time-frame??

Hi to everyone--been busy in the office and need to get back--secretary is out.

Pearl--I had to respond on the girls--first--THANKS--We think they are pretty adorable (when they aren't trying to kill each other!). I'll put the bat on my Walmart list. The fact they have a BIG, silent daddy will help. Those poor boys don't even have a shot!

Hope you all have a great one. I have been terrible for 2 days so I hate to post when I am such a loser--and not in a good way!

Hey all, I'm actually going to try what Pearl mentioned about writing this in Word and then copying and pasting. I was feeling a bit like I wasn't participating in many discussions or not being personal enough when you all have helped me so much.
So here goes!!! :flow1:

Reddeborah: Thanks for the mention. I am losing for now, but I have a habit that I’m trying really hard to break and that’s messing all this up on the weekends. I’m gonna try much harder this weekend because I don’t want to go back into the 240’s. :crossed:

Lotta: Thanks 2 U 2!! I still don’t believe they let Nelson go, he was just a big sweetheart!! And why, oh why don’t they see that this other chick isn’t going to be good for them in the long run??? And Takeaways???? I’m confused…

Repogirl: Thanks!!

KMG: IT’S ABOUT DANG TIME!!! hehehe, gotta give you a hard time, that’s what neighbors are for… J Keep it up woman, we’re gonna be 2 HOT Italian Momma’s!!!

Nancy: I’m in Illinois and I just found the juice at a store called Fruitful Yield. Google it and see if you have them there in Indiana. It was like 3 bucks a bottle and I bought some fiber there too!! One stop shopping!!! hehe Or just call around to the health food stores and ask them if they carry it. I’m sure not all of them are listed with Knudsen’s website.

Cassi: Thanks and remember, you started all of this, so MUCH thanks 2 U, and congrats on your GREAT loss!! :carrot:

Kim: Once again that woman is going to be the “death” of the red team. I was screaming at the TV too, my son thought I was nuts for getting so involved. I also cried when they let Nelson go, and that just proved to my son that I was nuts!!! He just laughed at me…

Ljackson: Calling you that cuz I don’t know your name!! Yes, Kathy and I go together and we do go to the one on Rt. 59. It’s on the way home for me and not too far for Kathy to come out to do WI and get lectured… J We are actually neighbors, right next door to each other and she’s the one who got me into this program. I found this site though and told her about it and how wonderful it was and about how everyone was working together and all the great support. I wish right now I could afford a gym too, but this is a bite out of my monthly allotment already. I’m a single mom, so every penny counts, too much!! I am thinking though about buying an elliptical to up my workouts when I can’t walk my poochie! This site is a blessing though, and I’ve loved every minute of it so far. I’ve been playing too much though at work and I really should curb my online time. (as it sit here at work writing this)… oops!! What gym are you going to if I might ask??

Pearl: I love reading what you write. Your so very funny and it comes across in your postings. I wish I had that gift with words… And, thanks for the kind words. I guess I should brag, umm post more often!!

Once again, thanks to EVERYONE for being such great supporters and inspiration!!

I will PROMISE to behave this weekend, and then to let you all know how I behaved next week. Well maybe I should post on the weekend and then ya’ll can yell at me if I start misbehaving… lol :kickbutt:

Pearl – As usual, you have the best advice, for posting to use a separate word document to help looking at posting and typing back at the same time. Also, thanks for the tip about the K-Juice. I’ll swing by Walgreen next time I go that way and see if they have the Hollywood Diet Juice, in case I’ll need it one day, and I’ll know they have it.

Joni – Thank you too, for your tip. It does help for I’m doing it now!! Oh, I’m gonna write it down, that I can also sub cantaloupe or 2 oranges each day. I’ll do my research, and if I ever start stalling, I’ll be ready!

Cassie – Awesome WI!! And I noticed you changed your ticker!

Jenn – I have searched on Fruitful Yield web site, and they have 10 stores, but they are all in Illinois. That’s ok, though, if I won’t be able to find the Hollywood Juice, then I’ll just do the fruit things…

Thank you all for the wonderful support, even I don’t post as much, but I “check in” at least 2-3 time a day. So behave yourself, chickies, and have a POP day!

Boo-you're such a sweetie! My mood is improving thanks to you guys. Still feel fat today though! Water, water, water . . . Oh-the timeline for the adoption-hopefully around 9-12 months.

BC-you know-the lack of exercise since Sunday probably isn't helping my mood any. I felt weird last week too-since I had to taper off the walking and didn't want to risk pulling any muscles at the gym right before the big day. Unfortunately-my baby pinky toe is still having issues-and proper shoes ain't happening. I'm hoping to be back full force on Sunday or Monday.

So-what's your excuse? Get to the gym girl!

Juliemarie - You just hang in there, girl! I am truly amazed at what you've done so far... If you have the kind of mental strength to lose the weight you have, and finish marathons, I know you can get through this period of blahs. My SIL adopted 2 seperate times from Russia, and I know how much work is involved in just getting to gotcha day. You are a special lady.

Cassi - you are an LA superstar! You really have opened my eyes to some new ways to think about the plan - thanks for that!

Pearl - you're cracking me up today! New definition for POP, indeed. Thanks for the glasses compliment - actually I'm contemplating laser correction as my reward for reaching final goal, but I'm a big chicken (or is that chick?).

Nance - I do have to say that exercise does a body good, something about that lingering ache that keeps you from reaching for a poor food choice - (or it could be that I cannot lift my arms higher than my waist after a workout....)

See you ladies tomorrow!

I have been trying to eat all my food except dinner before 5 p.m. and then I eat dinner at 6:30. Except Tues. & Thur. where I don't eat dinner till 8:30. I hope this will help...I know you all are saying that I am not at a plateau so to speak for a week of suitableness. But I am truly feeling at a loss....I just started and surely it is not normal to not see any loss in the 3rd week, going on 4th. Also, my scales says I have now gained....WI tonight at the center so I will see.... I am just frustrated, where's my .2 down? heck I'd take a .1 down and feel better, just something!

Sorry, I suppose I shouldn't be whining and bringing every one down. You all are really moving on your scales and I think it is great! I will quit being the 27 old baby that I am now! Have a good evening all....I will check in this evening after WI.

Kristi....I know how that feels...But try to grab that one thing that has gotten you through this before. Everyone has something and some reason why they are choosing this new way of eating..What is yours??? Wow looking at your stats...indicates you have lost a bunch...From 190 or so ..to 160 or so?????

And even if it is set menu.at dinner...I want to think you can make good choices within the choices that are offered to you..I have started to realize I will never be able to go back to the way I was eating...I have committed to a real lifestyle change..

I also would love to go out and just forget it all..But that is what got me here..Not paying attention at all...Just like any other aspect of your like,,your relationships..your children..your job..It all has to be monitered tobe sure we are staying on track..Guess wt. is the same...You can do it...we are with you..nance

Momofbg - that frozen LA Slim is one of my favorites - I had one this morning using frozen blackberries!! I mix mine up in the food processor and it's like a thick yummy shake. Feels like I'm cheating big time.

Jenn - I'm a dog lover too, so I like your signature quote! As far as "takeaways" from the BL show, those were just a couple tips I got from watching last night's show....Bob the trainer did his little infomercial for One A Day vitamins and it reminded me to take my vitamins...

Cassi - WTG! I'm watching your ticker too and loving your progress. Glad your center acknowledged your dedication to the program. I think a pat on the back is well deserved in your case.

Juliemarie, Kristi and others - Please stay positive and do the best you can until your "slump" passes. Focus on all the progress you've made so far. For me, a little exercise always gets me in a better mood; go grab some soup cans and go punch the sky. Or do like Katie says - do something you really enjoy (non food related) like watch a funny movie, play a game, take a bubble bath, etc. Juliemarie - I definitely say your slump is post-marathon blues...sort of the way I feel after a great vacation is over! Shake it off ladies...shake it off!

Good evening all,

I just finished my workout and now I am feeling good. It's time for dinner and I can't wait. I am hungry!!

Juliemarie, I am glad that you are starting to feel better and sorry you weren't flying high. As it has already been beautifully stated you have accomplished so much already, stop and smell the roses. It will get better!

Bajachick, How old is your Golden? I have a 10 lb Shih Tzu and she is a sweetie, doesn't go for walks well though! She likes to visit every single yard we pass and I can't have that.:dizzy:

momofbg, I haven't tried any of the Slimdowns, I think I might do that after I have been on the program for a month again. No cheats thus far, so I am proud of that.

I made myself stay off the scale this week, I will see what happens at WI on Saturday. I don't want to become addicted to the scale, because it is often not my friend.:(

Have a wonderful evening everyone.

How did I gain 1.6lbs just by eating dinner?!?! I was 220.0 before dinner, and 221.6 after! What? I had a turkey pita. Not THAT many calories.

JM - Cheer up bunny boo! You'll be feeling better in no time, and back to your cheerleader self soon! We are all soooo proud of you! Who else here has done a marathon?!?!?!?!? BIG HUG

Cassi - You are Awesome girl! Your COD told you all the things that WE already knew about you! We all come to you looking for answers, and by golly you give 'em! BTW - so do the 100 calorie snack packs (Nabisco) count as just 1 starch or 2? Because a slice of low cal bread is 45 calories and it is 1 starch....

Boo's Mom - You'll get back on track soon, honey! no worries!!

Jenn - You are doing great and way to go with your personals post! I bet you were shocked at how long it turned out - I am when I post to a lot of people, LOL Guess that's why these threads get soooo long!

Nancy - Hope your day is POP too!

Nance - Sorry you are blue too! Hope things perk up soon - BIG HUG Aren't dogs grand!? Oh, and this is for you: :carrot:

Kim - I want laser correction too, but I am scared that I'll move my eye while they are doing it and something will go horribly wrong. Probably a lame fear as I know nothing about how it's done, but I keep thinking of alien abduction or something >Heebie Jeebies<

Mom of BG - That SOUNDS delicious!

Kristi - Hang on girl! You will feel better if you don't splurge. Every time I have splurged, I felt like it was sooo not worth it.

MS - Being able to be a baby is half the reason we all come here! Whine away, we can take it!

Joni - HI!

2bfit - Hope WI is kind to you. I'm going for the first time this week tomorrow.

Meagan - STEP AWAY FROM THE SCALE! lol, I do the same thing! Just try to only weigh once a day (in the morning). Now if I could only do as I say....

Meagan - STEP AWAY FROM THE SCALE! lol, I do the same thing! Just try to only weigh once a day (in the morning). Now if I could only do as I say....

STEP AWAY FROM THE SCALE! Try to only weigh yourself first thing in the morning.

LOL - You guys crack me up! :lol3:

Jenni - I count them as 1 starch since the LAWL cheetos, pasta twists and popcorn all have 120-130 calories. BUT... I only do them every once in awhile - like once every few weeks. COD says to limit to 1-2/week. I try to stick to real food, though, because I know I have a serious chip addiction. Cool Ranch Doritos are not allowed in the house!:nono:

So I went to DD school tonight because they were having a fundraiser for the athletic department. They had Outback cater dinner. I was SO good! I had grilled chicken - no steak, I gave DH my roll, DS my rice, and didn't eat their salad since it was drenched in some kind of oily dressing. BUT - I brought a 3c bowl of salad and my Salad Spritzer. Tucked it into DS diaper bag. I came home and had a slice of light toast with a tiny bit of RF peanut butter. I figured my chicken portion was less so I could do the little extra. I did not do dessert either. I am now going to drink a few glasses of water to get rid of the salt on the chicken. Word to the wise - if you go to Outback, you may want to tell them to hold the seasoning on the chicken. It is WAY overboard!

Juliemarie - Will you excuse me for this - but after 9 months of preparing and now the "event" is over - sounds like postpartem depression to me... And I know that sounds crazy, but who's to say that it is only for after the birth of a baby? You carried and after 9 months gave birth to a marathon! Give yourself time to recover and get back to "normal". Pamper yourself! Get a manicure, buy yourself a special book, some herb tea or something... Or, you can go wash your neighbors windows - it's amazing what doing something for someone else will do for your attitude! Not to mention the blessing for your neighbor! I think about your "FIRST 50 pounds" and and you've lost 90 POUNDS!!!! I'm so in awe! You have accomplished much! Start planning POP and get back on the train! You're awesome!!! And a new blessing soon to happen!!! WOW!!! I'm soooooo happy for all the blessings in your life!!!

Cassi - 3.8# WOO HOO!!! :woo: I'm giving you 3 gold stars!!!! :)

PittieMomma - Funny - some of my friends are after me to write a book! Can you imagine?!? I mean - they are AFTER me to do it! I'm actually giving it some prayer... I've had many people in my life recommend it because of my love for writing... AND - I hope you have the NEED to BRAG (ahem, I mean POST) EVERY DAY!!!! Wouldn't that be awesome!!!?? It looks like you got the "hang" of doing the wordpad/notepad idea. I'm glad it worked for ya! I wouldn't want to miss YOUR posts either!!!

Kim - that would be FABULOUS Chickie!!! My dh would love to have that surgery, just don't have the funds for it! Besides, I think he's sexy with or without his.... glasses.

Kristi - one of the things I've noticed about this NEW WAY OF EATING LIFESTYLE is that my thoughts have changed about food. I used to plan my vacation around the restaurants we were going to eat at. Instead this time, I planned around WHAT I could eat close to POP. I actually got into a conversation today about LUST in regards to food. And I believe many of us (I'll speak for myself) do lust for food. We see pizza on TV and we gotta have pizza. We see chocolate fondue on a commercial and we gotta try the "new" chocolate fondue. But how many times do we see a salad on TV and think, "I gotta have that salad"?!? So, just be patient and know that this is not JUST a way of losing weight, but a way of changing our eating habits and making EDUCATED decisions with regards for our health! Hold on girlfriend! YOU CAN DO THIS!!! Just take it one day at a time, one moment at a time, one mouth full at a time, or one calorie at a time. Whatever you have to do to make it through to the end and reach your goal. Because the bottom line is: YOU DESERVE THIS!!! Your family DESERVES a healthier you!!!

MickeySue - We have a VERY strange schedule and our COD recommended that we switch our dinner with our breakfast. So we eat more for our first meal that we do our last. It seems to be working! Hang in there girlfriend! (You can whine whenever you want to - sometimes you have to stand in line around here but that's what we're here for!) Now, go change your diaper and put on a better attitude! You are MUCH too special to be that frustrated so soon!!! Hugs.

Meagan - Okay, let me get this straight. You weighed before AND AFTER you ate dinner?!? Honey, you need to get a life! Seriously, I weighed this a.m. after my morning P's - P's and Poo's- and my scale said I was up 7 pounds!!! What a crock of POO!!! Sometimes I think my scale is smoking reefer!! :) by the way, I think your posts are adorable!!!

momofbg - get out the lemon water and drink, drink, drink!!! I'm sorry you're feeling bad - but I can't tell if you are physically feeling bad or feeling bad because of your dinner. Either way - get out the lemon water and drink, drink, drink!!! AND, looking back, what did you learn? (That's what I always ask my sons when they make mistakes or bad decisions) The world will still be here in the morning. YOU will still be on LAWL in the morning. WE will still be here for you in the morning. If you gain a little, it will be gone in a few days. Just DON'T GIVE UP!!!! Don't let this set you back!!! Come on girlfriend - YOU CAN DO THIS!!!! You DESERVE to do this!!!!

Cassie- My detox tea is Traditional Medicinals Every Day Detox. The lady at the herb store swears that with IBS trouble, I should drink it every night. I don't, but I do use it on occasion. It is not very yummy either, BTW.

2bfit- I LOVE the Dulce De Leche and the Chocolate Peppermint Stick.

Pearl- POP?! My goodness, I am SHOCKED! Just kidding, I am laughing my head off. Your humor is similar to mine.

JM- What can I say that has not already been said? I second what the other chickies have said. I also wanted to add that I think that you will make a wonderful mother. Chin up chickie.

Lori- My cousin lost 35 lbs. She beat the crap out of the rest of us. Good to see you!

Cassi- Great WI, and WTG on the Outback food. They are one of my many nemesis.

Prazteam- THANK YOU I think it's a little bit of both physically and feeling bad about the dinner, but maybe more physically I saw what you wrote and it almost made me cry. I'm trying to learn from my bad decisions. I did get out my lemon water and drink my water. I'm trying so hard not to give up. Thanks again I'm going to be OP tomorrow.

There must be something in the air all across America. Chickies everywhere are down in the dumps and feeling blah. And everyone one of you is sucessfully changing your life with the help of LAWL and all of us here. You have all been so inspirational to me. I look at your tickers and am truly amazed at the weight you have all lost. Changing our lives is so hard. We're not talking about changing our haristyles, we're talking about making decisions over and over again everyday that will directly affect our lives today, tomorrow and forever. This is big stuff. Isn't it normal to feel blah about it once in a while. You know what we need on here, Chickies? We need a therapist. We need a fat therapist to join LAWL and find us here so she can share all her behavioral knowledge with us. Anyone know someone who would fit the bill? He he....... Seriously, this can't be so different from the drug addict that gets clean, or the smoker who quits smoking. Actually, maybe this is harder because we have to eat everyday!!!! We are doing something pretty amazing here...... we are supporting each other day in and day out and that is pretty cool. (I sound like that guy on Saturdy Night Live who does the 'aren't I special' routine..) So what if we fall off the wagon now and then. Life is hard, and as long as we succeed more than we fail we'll come out ahead. We don't have to be perfect!!! If I said that I would never have another hot fudge sundae I think I'd cry - I know I will - I'm just going to make it special....

So, buck up, Chickies...... you are all amazing!

Good morning girls! Remember I said I was moving desks the other day? Well yesterday afternoon I started organizing my new space, and I went through this big folder that I've kept over the years with little jokes and thngs I've picked up from working in different offices, or from the internet. Anyhoo, back in 2000 one of the girls I worked with gave a few of us the things called "Brilliance Fortunes". It's a little 1x2 card that has a flap on the front you open. It has a quote inside, and it's supposed to be your "fortune", like a fortune cookie. I found them yesterday, and they really hit home so I thought I'd share. Especially because there seems to be some rough times on the board...

"You may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing that we cal 'failure' is not the falling down, but the staying down"
-Mary Pickford

"The world is round, and the place which may seem like the end may also be only the beginning"
-Ivy Baker Priest

 You guys rock! Yes, I was getting obsessive. I bought a new scale last night and was playing with my new toy! I can always count on you girlies to keep me in perspective! :grouphug:

Luckily, the scale was nicer to me this morning. Down 2.4 lbs. We'll see if that sticks for WI today at 3:30p. :goodscale:

Good Morning all! I am up a 1/4th of a lb. as of last nights weigh in. Am having horrible pains in my abdomen and am wondering why lemon water has become the drug of choice for EVERYTHING at COD....Are they going to start selling this stuff in Styrofoam cups on the corner?...Shhh, don't tell anyone but I think it's the cheapest drug off the market!

Seriously my spirits are up this morning regardless of the increase/pains/ and maybe because of the lemon drug...who knows.

I am looking forward to this evening as we are having my parents over for dinner. I have not decided what will be for dinner, I am in the mood for anything but a salad. We'll see what is under the recipe thread in a minute.

I have found hosting keeps me OP and I don't have to worry about offending anyone by not being able to consume their food. Amazing how it actually insults certain people when you tell them I will just have a large portion of the salad, dressing on the side, please.

Happy Day Chickies!

MickeySue - Try the Beef Dijon. I've made it for my mom and my in-laws and they about fell over when they found out (after dinner) that it was "diet" food.

I thought the recipe was already on the recipe thread but it wasn't. I just added it.

TGIF chicks!:sunny:

Why are the short weeks so long? We had Mon off, and it seems like it has taken 14 days to get to Friday. Went out to dinner last night with friends, had tilapia (hope it's an attractive looking fish, I eat it so much I may turn into one!). It was good, but the additional sodium in it is killing me this morning. Life gives me lemons, I make hot lemon water.... WI this afternoon, I think it will go OK.

Meagan - Don't stress about the pre-dinner/post-dinner gain. Your food weighed that much ( 1/2 pound of turkey is 1 protein). Don't wig yourself out like that. It leads nowhere good. Trust me, I've been there and the view sucks.

Jenni - Yeah the concept of laser surgery gives me the willies too. I started to research the process and got creeped out, but I feel that I need to know all about it before I contemplate it. I often think that people who do not research things lead less stressful lives than I. I'll have to research that to see.... :chin:

momofbg - Flush out the bad stuff, chickie! I got home last night from dinner and drank 2 big glasses of lemon water, and continue to do so today. It will be OK.

Pearl - if you wrote a book, we would all buy it!

Cassi (and Katie) - I smelled the DeTox tea yesterday - OK, so it smells something like floor stripper, but my liver is clean! Actually, I don't think I could drink it hot.

Michelle - DO NOT joke about the lemon water and the COD - next thing you know, they will be selling "LA Lemonwater" for 30 bucks per lemon! :nono:

No big plans for the long weekend - good! Maybe I can stay POP! I only have 2 weeks to our short cruise, I would like to get the scale down a bit more by then.

Good Morning, Chickies!!

TGIF! What a week..... glad the next one is on its way in. We're still waiting for Mother Nature to send fall our way. I am so looking forward to winter this year. At the end of last winter I bought a jacket from Land's End in a regular women's xl. The one I have already is a 2x and it is big, too big to wear. I would love to be in the smaller one by January. It's winter white and soft and cozy, just a casual jacket that zips up but I am so excited about wearing it. The LL Bean catalogue came in the mail yesterday and they have some nice inexpensive jackets as well. Oooh, they are so cute!! I'm thinking of buying one in a women's large and hanging it on the back of my closet door as inspiration. Oooh, I just remembered. MY oldest DD has a gorgeous leather car coat that we gave her for Christmas a few years ago that we bought at Brooks Brothers for a song. That might fit me by the middle of the winter. I'll have to hide it when she comes home from school for the holidays. What a bad, bad, mother!!! It's so shallow of me, I know, to focus on clothes, but it has been soo long since I had fun getting dressed.

I'm off to sub for the middle school science teacher today. Let's pray its not a lab day. I've never been good with chemicals.

Have a great day, girlfriends.

Deb

Good morning chicks! First up, Happy Turkey Day for all my fellow Canucks!:thanks1: :thanks2: :happ3: :turkey: At the best part, enjoy the long weekend.

I went to the COD last night and was slightly down (0.2) but I will take it. If you are down, you are down.

You guys kill me! I always laugh when I read this board! I agree, the board seems to be in a minor funk, but we can fight our way through it and come out on the other side (with Pearl leading the charge, right Pearl)!

I am at work, so time for personals, so have a great weekend everyone!

Good morning chickies! TGIF – I am so looking forward to the Cdn Thanksgiving long weekend! I get to cook dinner, which is one of favorite things to do. Well at least cooking for a crowd is. NHL is back on tap – started the season with the Battle of Alberta – Calgary vs Edmonton. I love hockey season. I’ll like it even more when I win the office hockey pool.

Cassi – congrats on being so good with the Outback food. Your NSV are a daily occurrence, wonder you have been so successful. I’ve started putting my menus up daily on the daily menu thread. Once it is there I really feel I MUST stick to it. BTW I am loving red – I just had a 3 egg white (fried in the micro) sandwich with 2 slices of low cal bread. (using 2 S at breakie today as I don’t have a starch with me for lunch) The Beef Dijon sounds great – I’ll have to check it out.

Reddeb – new jackets – sounds like fun shopping. I am sure I am going to run into that this winter. I bought a leather coat last December and it will surely only last this winter and then be too big. I figure I’d save it for the pregnant times as there is no way really of getting around being pregnant in cold weather when you live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Carol – Happy Canuck Thanksgiving to you too. Hope you have a fabulous dinner and weekend – stay safe.

Rebeca – step away from the scale, drop the candy and turn around so we can kick you in the butt. Wipe the ‘plate’ clean and start again – it’s a new day where you can make some better choices. Perhaps try some protein in the am to get you full faster even if it is ½ protein and your splitting you lunch protein with breakfast. I am finding I am less hungry if I get protein in asap in the morning.
