My 21 year old son and hos friend love Halloween--they dress up every year. His girlfriend's b-day was in August and they had a costume party at their apartment--He used the same costume from last Halloween and went as the "Drunk MonK" in a monk's tunic and she was the Bride of Chuckie--I will have to see if I can get them to email me the pictures to put them on here. She was adorable, even drew on the "I love Chucky" tattoo and wore my son's leather biker jacket.
My mom always came up with really great, last-minute costume ideas. One year, she suggested going as Mimi on Drew Carey (what an easy costume to pull together - teased big hair, horrid eye makeup, and a loud-print shirt!).
In a pinch, I pull together a witch costume or use the ol' renaissance festival outfit.
I am going to be Medusa. I am going to buy the costume and then curl my hair and use them as snakes. (I wish I could make my own costumes...the possibilites would be endlesss!!) My bf is going to be Jigsaw (the puppet) from the movie SAW. We bought the mask on ebay and he is going to pair it with a pinstripe suit (i think that's what he wears)
watch_it_break-I would love to see how your costume comes out!!!
Rosario - i'll see if i can get some pics. it's one that i've been wanting to do for years, but since i'm too old for trick-or-treating, and i'm not much of a partier, i haven't needed a costume.
but my friends are having a small-ish costume party, this year... yay!
veggielover - oh wow! that would be sweet! i can't sew to save my life, so i have to come up with no-sew costumes. hopefully, the chia pet will only require a sweatsuit, some fabric dye, artificial turf, and maybe some velcro or glue or something.
I'm going to be a glam rocker (like David Bowie, or the Brian Slade character in 'Velvet Goldmine'). Since I seem to really be losing weight in my chest and hips, it'll be easier to pull off a more androgynous look. I LOVE Halloween!
Wow, a glam rocker? Make sure you've got plenty of glitter on you!
I always wanted to be a lobster. Unforunately, the only make those for toddlers. I need to get into costume making. That way I could prbably be whatever I wanted for Halloween. And I guess I'm picky too; I love the mascot type of costumes, ones that, when you put it on, no one would recognize you! I mean, thats the whole thing behind trick in "trick or treat", right?
I actually thought about dressing up to hand out candy to the kids but am at a loss for what to dress up as. Thought about Dorothy from the Wizard fo Oz...wanting something cute. But then a witch really fits me, lol!
I think a Lobster would be adorable.
I'll be keeping an eye on this thread for ideas for sure.
