Default Made my original goal!!!

Almost 5 months ago I set a goal of 150 by my 42nd birthday which is Nov 2nd. I wasn't sure I could actually do this since I've tried several times in the last 10 years to diet and have always failed. Well this morning for the first time in 10 years my scale read 149!!! At this point I haven't decided if I will continue to try to lose weight or just try to maintain what I've done so far. I can wear a size 8 in misses and a 9 in juniors, just like high school. I am not really sure a size 2 or 4 is something I can maintain or even want to try! Will try to get some pics soon, I am a bit camera shy. Thank you all for your encouragement and for just being here!

WOW! You gave me the chills! Thats so great for you! I've beentrying to lose 50 also, it's now ben 6 months and those last 10 just don't seem to want to move! How did you do it? I'm on Atkins.
Congratulations again! If you're happy where you are then just work on maintaining it. I know what you mean about being a size 2. I don't think I ever was and don't really want to be at this point. From waring a 16 bottom and 20 top, I'll be more than happy in an 8/10!
WAY TO GO!

Maggie, great job so far!! I went from an 18+ to an 8, and these are my clothes from 10 years ago, LOL I say 18+ because, truth be told, I couldn't get the 18's on then and refused to buy anything but strechy pants for awhile!! I have no idea what size I really was!!! I count calories, I use that term loosely though because I don't write anything down, I just kind of guesstimate where I am each day and try to avoid sweets and fast food as much as possible. And I walk the dog a few times a day, no strenuous excercise here, I hate exercise and don't really see any point in it.
I can now wear a 12 in most tops (this is because I am busty, I went from a very tight fitting 38 DD to a very loose fitting 36DDD during this time, I really need a 34 but its damn impossible to find the bigger cup sizes with a smaller bra!) This is one of the reasons why I feel a size 2 or 4 in pants wouldn't really look that great on me, LOL
The last 10 pounds have taken almost 2 months for me, my weight loss is getting slower as my body gets down to what it considers a normal weight. I just keep doing what I have been doing all along and it slowly seems to work. Its hard to get excited about a 1 pound loss every week or two!!

I started on April 28th of the year, so almost 5 months now. The last month and a half have been real slow, mostly because I went back to work and haven't been as focused as I should be on my diet.

How did you keep yourself motivated when the going was slow !! Thats the harderst task for all of us - to persist despite the mini disappointments !!

Motivation is the toughest part of it all!! I have my little slides here and now and I just have to tell myself that I haven't ruined it for the whole day even if I eat something thats not exactly good for me. I don't tell myself that tomorrow is another day, I correct myself immediately now. In the last few weeks I have to admit that I am under alot of stress and eating anything has become a chore for me. I am not a stress eater. I have the opposite problem, when I am upset I don't eat....Time to pick myself up and eat a healthy breakfast in the morning.
