:gossip: Has anyone been watching the Celebrity Fit Club show? I caught it last night for the first time and I am so intrigued. 100 days to fitness, Hmmmm.
I got quite a surprise when I saw what everyone weighed. Each time one of the celebs walked up to be weighed I mentally guessed what I thought their weight was going to be and boy was I shocked. I weigh more than most of them. My sense of my body size is so out of whack. I know I am fat, but I guess I didn't realize just how fat I am. I'd like to see exactly what they are doing for exercise. And are they weighed in 1x week? One pretty gal lost 8 pounds!
So, now I'm hoooked. DH is out of town on business and here's to hoping he's gone again next Wednesday night. He would hate to watch that show with me, but I could always kick him out to the family room tv.

Reddeb - The fitness expert on that show wrote the "Fat Smash" book. I did a google search, and it's very strict, at least in the first phases, but it has great results. 3FC has a message board for those on it too.

I don't think they are weighed one time per week, I was watching one day and they mentioned something about the time frame. I can't recall if it was 10 or 14 days, but it was definitely more than 1x/wk, that's just how often they air the show.

They are weighed in once every other week-14 days. :)

I watch this show too but like with all "reality" tv shows, they play up the drama for the ratings. Usually, there is some B list celebrity who is the center of drama on the show, whether it is a drug problem or it is just a case of inflated ego. The show is good for a laugh. :)

I am addicted to any show (or website!!) that has to do with weightloss. Biggest loser is my fave--you couldn't pay me enough to get on those scales in front of the world!! Fit club cracks me up--they come in thinking it's gonna be cake a get a reality check real fast. I like the panel.

I love the show. It is airs on sunday nights for me which is a good start to my week, after watching them lose weight, i get inspired. But like you, i was SHOCKED at what they actually weigh. It blew my mind and killed my confidence to think that the guy from the sopranos weighs less than i do. He looks like a very large man to me and to think he is like 10-15 pounds less than me...really threw me for a loop. I looked over at dh and said, OMG am i THAT big of a woman? He said, no, he was shocked at that guys weight too. He would have guessed way higher. DH weighs 205 and doesnt look just 50 pounds less than that guy. I guess it all depends on how your carry your weight but geeze, i dont like being second lightest of the GUYS while here i am a GIRL. Bummed me out, but i am addicted to the show.

I was wondering about this. I have been watching it and it is a big motivator for me. I was especially surprised at Angie Stone whole inability to see that what she thinks she is doing is no where near where she needs to be to lose weight. Angie is the black woman. She wasn't taking her medication, worked out 3 times in nine days. Working out isn't a requirement, but it seems like she just doesn't seem to really see what she is doing. Alot of ego to me.

Ob-i agree, angie is out of touch or something. She is MAJORLY in denial and on some kind of pity/excuse kick. Its everybody and everythings fault but hers. Too funny.

I agree that the celebs look bigger than their listed weight. I always figured that they 'improved' the weight amount told to the public. Either that or the camera adds about 40 lbs, not 10!
It doesn't seem like Angie Stone is mentally ready to be on Celebrity Fit Club. You really have to be in the right frame of mind to undertake serious weight loss.

well-I didn't really believe that kirstie alley's top weight was 205 either . . . .

Geez--I would hate to see myself on TV!!!!! With the poor body image so many of us have as it is that could really push us over the edge.

I read somewhere that Kirstie Alley proclaimed to be 210 lbs. when she started Jenny Craig. Her commercials now say she has lost 75 lbs. which would put her weighing 135. She's about 5'9. That camera must add at least 40 lbs. because she certainly looks a lot bigger than 135.
I watch Celebrity Fit Club every Sunday. The thing that gets me is the way some of them dress in layers with jackets and chains and such on. If I was being weighed I'd have the lightest clothes possible on and take the dang shoes off. I do think that Angie needs to go on home, she isn't ready to lose weight. It surprised me when they said they would help the former baywatch girl get to 123. I thought this would be pretty small for someone 5'6. Maybe not, I'm 5'7 and my bottom weight would be 128. (Not like I'll ever have to worry about it).
I know what you all mean when you can't believe some of these celeb's weigh less than you do. I saw a pro-football player on TV last night and they said "he's 6'2 and 230 lbs.", heck I had him beat at 234 to start with.

Lilybelle--your transformation is awesome! Angie is a whiner and doesn't not appear to want to commit.

I watched the recent episode with Angie. I think she has the whole "New Years Resolution" attitude when she got contacted and signed up for the show...it sounded good, it was a "gig" and she wanted to lose weight. It is easy to get motivated-and then realize afterwards how much work it actually is. Not everyone is willing to "do" the work-which is why the people who are still overweight, or still smoking, or still drinking, or still in extreme credit card debt-or WHATEVER-greatly outnumber the ones who have lost weight/stopped their bad habits.
Everyone has a resolution at New Years-which is why Nicorette and Slim-Fast always go on sale the week before and after January 1. But 4 months later-how many are still succeeding? For every 10 that do Fit Club...I would imagine only 1 or 2 will lose the weight to goal, and KEEP it off.

And unfortunately, that is probably true with real people in real life.
Like I said, they'll keep Angie for the drama....just like when they brought back Gary "Chicklet Teeth" Busey.
BTW, since we are confessing to watching bad television, does anyone watch "Flavor of Love 2", after Celebrity Fit Club? :p
Guilt as charged....:cheese:

LOL... Confession is good for the soul, Kim.
So what do you think about him bringing New York back? LOL...Now THAT is good drama for the ratings!

:o I watch too. I just caught like 2 episodes in a row and i coul not beeLIEVE what some folks will do for a little bit of notoriety. It was kinda like a train wreck - hard to look away.
About New York, I liked her because she at least spoke her mind. She has a backbone. BUT I never watched season one and I was a bit disappointed that she allowed herself to be put back into that man's stable as it were.

Ok, this ahs bugged me since it aired. Now that I see I'm NOT the only one to have noticed, I'm convinced. Thye absolutley HAD to have altered the TRUE weight of these "celebrities" I'm an inch taller than Carny Wilson and weigh 30lbs more (at the time) than her? Tina Yothers looked like a stuffed sausage and I weighed 40+ lbs more than her? The ONLY realistic weight was Bone crusher and he's at a size I wouldn't be able to "eye ball" it anyway. THEY ARE LYING!!!! Ego's, Geez!

You know, it never really occurred to me that the celebs on Celebrity Fit Club are lying about their weights....until now. LOL. But, you're right. It does seem weird how "light" they are in contrast to their body sizes.
The thing about Kirstie Alley's weight being too low never occurred to me either. When seeing the before pics, she looks like she is at least 250...and dare I say, some of those pics when she was at her heaviest, she looks more like over 300 pounds.
I'm wondering if the superobese celebs are as heavy as they are in the show. I mean, really, if Bonecrusher, god love him, was really 426, would it be possible for him to even PARTICIPATE in the fit camps?
Yeah...its all for drama and ratings....

Carmen, NY does certainly add to the show, lol. Nevermind her being in his stable but any of those women would have to have a couple of screws missing to participate in that stuff. I heard something about her getting a spinoff show next year. That would certainly makes sense. Otherwise, why bring her back...
I was laughing very hard though when he dismissed the woman with the stripper pole in her living room (I don't remember her name) because of how it would look around his "kids". <Smirk>....Since when does that guy care about morality (having fathered something like 6 kids from 3 or 4 different women and not marrying any of them)?!?!?? That was a bit ironic. LOL...

I watch celeberty fit club also. I was wondering just as lilybelle said with all the clothes on how they can weigh in. I take everything off I can when I weigh in. I wonder if they weigh in earlier with the outfits they started with on. Maybe the weigh in on tv is just for show. I can't imagine weighing with all the clothes and shoes. It's a "dieters sin" to weigh with shoes on. All these people have been on many diets and I just cant see someone weighing with heavy jewlery and all . Does that make sense to anyone else.

I think that they their WI's prior to the taping of the show, just like they do on Biggest Loser. The "scale" on the set is just a BIG prop. No way would they weigh in for real wearing all that stuff.
One time I took off my glasses - gotta be worth an ounce or two!. I have no idea whether I lost weight or not because I couldn't see the reading!:D

LOL, at my Dr.'s office, some of the women take their jewelry off before being weighed.
