I need to vent. I have lost virtually no weight this month and today was up by two pounds. I have been pretty darn close to POP! No big splurges... It could be TOM but I am still so frustrated. I feel like I deserve to lose more because I have passed up so many treats these past two weeks. I haven't been in to WI in over a week either because I just don't feel like dealing with the inquisition and/or sales pitch. Feel very fat today. Even though clothes are baggy (they used to be tight) still felt frumpy and fat.
Gotta keep going though.. this too will pass. Will try to get DH to go shopping tomorrow so I don't get tempted at the grocery store (DARN that holiday candy already!) Probably am feeling this way because TOM.
So glad this board is here- it keeps me from raiding the fridge.
Hope you all are fairing better this month.

Cheeky - I know so many ladies here do the lemon juice - I'm just wondering if you do? And as you know, if it is TOM, then the scales will be up but will fall much when TOM is gone.
I know it seems like we "pass up treats", but really we are just making healthier choices. Those "treats" as we like to call them, are what got us here in the first place. So with that said, your real treats this week have been the POP meals and snacks! Those are the "treats" that will keep you around so much longer and so much healthier!
Hang in there girlfriend! You can do it! We all can!
We're here for ya!

I have been in your place many times.. You can do this. What are you craving? Are you eating on program with all the snacks? Do a carb craver if you are craving carbs.
I agree with Pearl drink some lemon water the night before you weigh in.

Cheeky - I know exactly how you feel. I've had a slow month myself, despite staying OP for the most part.
When I first joined, I was losing 2.5-3 lbs/week. After 2 months, I slowed to 1.5-1.75. Now I'm around 1.25-1.5. This sucks considering I'm staying OP. However, I keep telling myself, that even though it will take longer to lose, at least I'm losing. Look back to where you were three months ago. You could be sitting here saying "I've got to lose weight", or you could do as you've been doing, and actually lose the weight. It is long and slow, and it is hard. It's making wise choices every day. But it's those every day things that add up in the long run. I don't know how many years I said at New Years that this would be the year I lose the weight. This year I didn't even bother because I knew I wouldn't stick with it. However, in March of this year, something clicked. I started the program 3/29, and now when I look back, I know that at the end of this year I will at least be down 60 pounds.
This is hard work. We all get down. We all have slumps. We are all here for you!

We all have slumps and plateaus--I think our body can only handle so much loss at a time then it has to stop and regroup--Katie had a great explanation months ago and it made sense. It is hard and it is a daily battle--and for many of us it will be a part of our lives forever to maintain--I'm okay with that because even though I still see the fat girl in the mirror I have accepted that others do not. Just his morning at a faculty meeting they had donuts and the gal next to me said "no wonder you stay skinny--you aren't eating donuts" and I could only laugh because she has no idea where I was in the spring. Hang in there--it will start again--it has too!!
Cassi--that was me EVERY New Years--well this past one I did it--we joined Dec 30th and actually did TO New Years Eve and New Years Day--that was our way of totally committing--and even though we have slacked (slacked but not gained) I believe we were just finally mentally and emotionally ready for a change.
