I'm in day two of a medically supervised, liquid meal replacement program (Optifast). I had my entrance physical on Wednesay and was shocked to discover I now tip the scales at 306! and my blood pressure was 170/96. How disgusting! I've been on only Optifast for two whole days. So far, so good. I have 5 Optifast formula servings a day- that is the minimum for me, according to the dietician- 800 calories. She would like to see me at 6 per day, or as many as I need not to eat 'real food'. I'm determined to get down to a healthy weight- and to avoid gastric bypass surgery.

Good for you! It is doable. I lost fifty nine pounds on it about ten years ago and you will have a hard time recognizing yourself. That's the fun part.
Stick with it and like they said, drink as many as you need of the shakes. That will keep you full. I found that by adding a capful of vanilla flavoring to mine and an envelope of Splenda, it really did taste more like a milk shake and I looked forward to it. I used the flavoring and Splenda for all flavors, oh, I also added crushed ice to the blender and put it all in there. Delicious.
