Default I lost my way!!!

I was doing so good then since last Monday it has been down hill. It all started after my weigh in, I ate a sub from Quinos and it was delicious. Then I had a coffee and a chocolate square (home baked goods). Then the next day I ate a cookie, the next day pizza, the next day bbq ribs, then a 'few' fries from A&W. Just a sip of a milk shake the next day, oh yes and there was pizza. So today at weigh in I didn't lose anything. Nothing, now I realize I didn't gain either but my goal was to be at 190 lbs before vacation. I'm 196.75 lbs. I go on vacation on Sept 14th. We're going to New Hampshire to watch a Nascar race. Of course I will be eating good that week and I'll right back up to 200. I'm so discouraged. You see I wait all year to go there b/c they have things there we don't have here in nova scotia like utterly devine ice-cream I dream about what it tastes like all the time. And my other indulgence while I'm there is the Olive Garden. That is the greatest place in the world for me. oh yes there's friendly's and their deserts......see the insanity. I don't want to be fat but I want to eat food that tastes. I will do better this week, I have to, I really don't want to be this miserable in my head b/c of food.
Thanks to all who listeded to me vent.

I've been the same way lately ... bad food choices this week.

Vacation/travel is a difficult situation. When I'm away, the unhealthy stuff is so much easier to grab, plus there's that element of "it's vacation time!" which makes me want to choose the more indulgent options. Some people just work around it and do whatever they want on vacation, others modify. I try to make sure that two of my three meals a day are quite healthy or lighter, with as little processed food as possible (knowing that at restaurants, you'll get more than enough refined flour, sugar and fat). The last time I traveled, it meant I had a fresh tomato and cucumber for breakfast, because I knew lunch would be at a diner where I'd likely get something like onion rings and a cheeseburger.

hey that's a great idea. 2 of my 3 meals each day with be healthy and my snacks will be healthy too. I'll be doing lots of walking too, more than I do right now so maybe it'll be ok. That's a perfect idea. Thanks, I feel incouraged now.
have a great day!!

Bring your own snacks with you (All Hail Ziplock bags!) and don't gorge on anything you can easily get at home. Save it for the really special things that you're craving.

Don't let yourself get upset by all of this. I try not to set deadlines for weight loss goals because not meeting those goals can lead to frustration and giving up.

I know what you mean about wanting food that tastes. I eat great and healthy food every day. But I also make choices every day NOT to eat other kinds of foods.

When I went back home to Cape Cod in Mass, I had my beloved fried clams (split a small order with mom) and a small clam chowder.

Go on your vacation. Have a good time! Have a little ice cream (once). Go to the Olive Garden and be reasonable. It's not all or nothing.

This ISN'T a race, it's for life. You don't have to have it all figured out by next week! Or next month!

It's about commiting to figuring out why we made bad choices and learning to make better ones next time.

Reframe how you think about it, and maybe it won't be so overwhelming!

Wyllenn, are those your sectrets? I need as many secrets of success as I can get. Your success record looks great. I do plan on bringing my own snacks and we have all agreed to only eat out once daily or it gets too expensive. My sweetheart of a bf eats whatever I make and now is catching on to how I cook now and what I can have and can't. He's a darling, he saw that last week I needed carbs and while he did remind me of what I was doing he wasn't harsh. He just let me know nicely and I ended up eating less of whatever (ie. pizza) b/c of what he said. So I didn't lose this week, no big deal. I'm back on track and I feel so much better. yesterday was only day 2 of eating clean again and already I'm not as bloated and I feel great! I had a hard time staying awake all day yesterday at work and I haven't felt that for over a month, about the same time I started eating better. Is it possible that carbs make me bloat?? They taste so good but I really believe they don't do well in my system. I wonder if anyone else has ever experienced that. Weird anyway. Thanks for the support. You have all given me great ideas.
Enjoy your day!!

I get what I call a "food coma" when I've had too many carbs. If I have a big spaghetti dinner (white flour), then I will take a 2 hour nap. If I increase my brown rice for lunch, I will feel drowsy in about an hour. I'm very sensitive to carbs so I try to limit them when I'm at work and eat more when I'm at home. That way a bed's close by. If you eat processed foods, those will make you feel bloated because they more than likely contain high amounts of sodium. Sodium attracts water and causes you to retain more water than normal, leading to that bloated feeling.
