Good Morning,:coffee2:
I had 1 piece of Choc. BD cake yesterday with ice cream. :o I haven't been execising this week either Suz, I'll try to work on that today.:lifter:
Wow Suz, where do you work and what do you do? :tired: It would be nice to have a job but I don't think I would want to work shifts.:faint:
We always have our "kick off" :cheer: Christmas shopping the day after Thanksgiving. All the girls in the family gather together the night before with newspapers. :gossip: We make a list of people we want to buy for and what we want to get. Then we map out all the stores that has sales on items that we are looking for.:write: We hit the stores about 6AM pairing off in two's :high: with cell phones in hand at different stores. When 2 of us enter a store we search for our sales items.:mag: and if there is a sale item there that someone wanted that isn't there we hold it :sumo: :club: Then we call the other people letting them know its there. :callme:
We meet up at 12:00 pm for lunch. :hungry: We laugh and tell each other the stories that went on that day! :blah: Its soooo much fun!. Its a tradition in our family. It ushers in the Holidays!! :wreath: All the men watch the kids. :twirly: After all we did do all the cooking the day before :chef: while they sat around and watched foot ball!! :grouphug:
I have a friend who visited us for Thanksgiving and got to go with us the next day. She now tries to make plans to join us every year. :woohoo: We do have fun!:joker:
Hope everyone has a great day!

Tell your son we are cheering for him! My husband and one of my sons was on a westling team at school.
Suz, I didn't realize Pepsi bought Quaker Oats. I use both products and I'm sure I help keep them in business! Ha ha
What kind of testing? Taste testing? tee hee hee? I would love that job!
Well, my son is preaching tomorrow. He is my youngest. The 17 year old. He's turning into a good preacher. My oldest son is 26 years old and is the Associate pastor at our church. I was happy when my oldest son was called to preach but now my youngest also feels he's been called to preach. Its nice having 2 preachers in the family. We can get into some pretty good discussions.
Well, got to run.
Kiwi
Hi Everyone
Kiwi yes I do have to do taste testing but also chemical testing on the products there is also a bake shop in the lab so you have to try to resist the temptation It is difficult when they are baking brownies all day or night
my DH is a retired pastor but still involved a lot he does services at 2 nursing homes and helps with sometimes with the services at the church He is also on the church board
I am at work again so I better go

Hi everyone:wave:
Suz I could never keep my weight under control if I worked there! I mean really, Get paid to taste brownies!!:hyper:
Hey, I got to church today and had several people tell me that jake my 17 year old was in the paper. He was voted one of top students in Bay county by the Optimist club. I was so proud of him. My daughter works for the paper and she didn't even notice. Anyway, they wrote a little article about him naming his awards he has earned and all the stuff he does for the community and school and what he is planning after graduation. I got a letter from his Principle Saturday saying how proud she was of him and how he stood out among his peers and made her school look good but I didn't really "get it" untill I got the paper. Can you tell I'm a proud mom. (tee hee hee:rofl: )
I was not good today.:o We ate pizza for lunch :jeno: and then when i got home I had a pecan pie that was calling my name! (several times:devil: )
I don't even want to step on the scales.

Hi Danni, great to hear from you. We stopped doing the challenge. People were getting bored. Its not fun being Queen when you are the only one writting in. It happens. Anyway if anyone has a new challenge they would like to suggest for the holidays to get people motivated that would be great.

Hi Kiwi
Too bad about the challenge...I thought it was fun, but I understand this is a very busy time for people. Maybe for the New Year we can maybe start up again, I know that for about the last 14 years I have said come Jan. 2nd I am on a diet and by Jan. 10 I was done :o
It is cold up here we had a wonderful Indian summer this past week, but old man winter is here!! :fr: :tantrum: We have no snow yet where I live but it is suppose to be coming making the home commute a total mess on the roads. The temp. had droppped significantly and I wish I was south :D
I am all done with my Christmas shopping, and I have to stop by UPS to send off my gifts to my neices and nephew in sunny FL whew that is a load off..:dancer:
I hope I remembered my snow scrapper in my car today, looks like ICE is forming on the windows...arghh...:censored: :yikes:
Have a great weekend everyone, hope everyone eats "healthy" I have to find a different exercise routine now that the snow is here...yuck... :lifter:

I still have Christmas shopping to do but I bought the big stuff the day after Thanksgiving. :turkey:
I turn 50 next year and my goal from the beginning was to be into a size 8 or 9 by the time by birthday came. I figured out last night that if I lose 6 pounds a month until my birthday I will be down to my goal weight! :belly: I think that is pretty doable! Of course I would like to lose it a lot quicker but the most important thing is to just get it off!:goodscale

Hi girls
I justed realized I have not posted in over a week I weighed myself on friday still not losing but I have lost 3.5 inches it must be the weights My legs and arms are a lot firmer as well as my stomach I guess since muscle is heavier than fat that may be why I am not losing any weight I would like to try and lose 5 lbs by christmas Looks like everyone else is doing good

Well I had a good day yesterday!:D I'm not losing alot of pounds but I am losing inches. :carrot: Being short I am pretty compact. My weight is all over. So as I lose I usally lose all over. I do have alot of weight in my belly though.:preg: So I have notice this time I'm losing weight in my belly. I am still wearing an 18 but everything fits so much looser. :belly: I have an out fit I haven't worn because it was to tight in the belly. Yesterday it was loose and everyone commented on the about of weight I was loosing. But actually I have only lost 11 pounds altogether but I've lost alot of inches. I can get into a 16 but I want it to fit loose so I'm staying into my 18's until I can wear the 16's without looking like a hoochee mama.

Good attitude! Don't let it bother you Danni you are prob retaining water. It will come off. I did real good today. Actually, I'm hoping I will be 189 in the morning!! I'm telling you I am fitting into clothes that I haven't been wearing or they were to tight. I'm feeling pretty good. The goal is to make it through all this holiday season without totally pigging out.
Did some more shopping today. Well gotta go.

Well I didn't make it to 189. I am 190.2!!!! I can't seem to shake the 190's but that's okay its got to happen sooner or later. Maybe tomorrow.
Danni Marie
12-06-2006, 11:11 AM
I hear ya on getting stuck in the 190's...If I see the 180's that will be a huge goal for me!!! I usually give up after stalling at 190  but this time I want to see the 150's....:D
Now that I have lost a few lbs. (21) I am convinced that I need a "face lift" :o OMG all this sagging skin under my chin is unbelievable :^: I look in the mirror and wonder who the **** is that "old" woman, when just this summer I had a youthful, rather rotund face, but this sagging skin crap I :dunno: is for the birds...thank God it is cold here and I can wear a turtle neck to cover that unsightly mess up:fr: :stress: sheesh never a break either portly :ink: or saggy :tantrum: getting old just doesnt seem to have many perks eh?
Kiwi I know what you mean about the upcoming holidays....I am scared :yikes: my family expects me to make our tradtional foods which of course are loaded with fats, sugars, etc. and I don't know if I am that strong to avoid them :( Thanksgiving was not a cake walk but it was doable cuz i made lowfat, no sugar versions of what everyone else was eating, I have no clue :dunno: how to make any of our tradtional foods light :stress: someone said "every bite tastes the same, whether you have 3 bites or 40 bites so if you MUST have something only have a couple bites...controlling my bites has never been a strong suit of mine :sp:
Well Aunt Flo is here guess I'll go put my feet up and relax a bit while she is here....have a good day! and keep moving :woops:
Danni:xcheer:
Kiwi24
12-06-2006, 04:26 PM
OMGOSH!!! :fr: I don't want my skin to sag but I know it is going to! I've been noticing that I don't just have a double chin but mine moves! Its like those wings under your arm that moves when you wave.:cp: Which tells me that when I lose its going to sag. Can't they do something for that? How do you exercise your face so that your skin tightens! :lifter: This lady I know had her stomach stapled or something like that. She has lost all her weight but her skins sags sooooo bad. :dunno: Her ankles are huge but its all skin. Its pretty weird. She had surgery to remove some skin in her legs so she could walk but it got infected so now everything is on hold.
Well its not stopping me from losing. Tomorrow my goal is to be 189!!
Wish me luck!:goodluck:

There are acutally exercises you can do for your face and neck, however they do not seem to be working for me...:nono: :stress:
or I am doing them wrong, or my face and neck are too far gone for results :stress:..lol
You are suppose to "scream" :yikes: the vowels of the alphabet, you do NOT have to vocalize them but go through the motions that you would if you were actually screaming them, you are suppose to scream A E I O U and those are suppose to firm up or prevent things from heading south  in your face and neck region. You can do them anywhere anytime, well I was doing them morning and night maybe I am in severe need to add more :chin: so I guess I'll scream the vowels morning, mid morn lunch mid afternoon and after dinner snack...LOL:dizzy:
I too share those lovely, arm wings that flap uncontrollablly as I wave :tantrum: I have seen improvement in that area. :carrot: Someone told me a long time ago to walk around the house with 2 unopened campbell soup cans, one in each hand while I do my everyday chores, and when I walk the tread mill :woops: and I have to say as the weight is coming off I am not looking like I am ready for "take off" IYKWIM.....
Ohhh that poor woman...she could not even walk? then an infection to boot...I'll say a prayer for her...
Well since someone would think that I have totally lost my mind if I did my facial neck excercises in my office I am off to the Ladies room to scream my vowels...:lol3:
Take Care...

holy cow! It's been so long! I just wanted to kinda check in here and say hi. I'm not doing completely horrible, but I'm not doing great either. I know this sounds like a total cop out, but I'm definitely kicking it in high gear over Christmas. I have 3 weeks at home with no class or work. That seems like a godsend right now, but I'm gonna get bored FAST if I don't have anything to do. At this precise moment, I am just desperately trying to get through finals. I don't think I've slept more than 4 hours a night since last Sunday, the 3rd. It totally sucks. Good news though: I got on my school's newspaper staff! I'm excited. Or at least I was before I stopped sleeping. Anyway, it sucks that the challenge has petered out, but I would prob be in the negatives anyway. I'll definitely be into doing it (or something else) once the new year gets here. I'm going to Vegas for SB and I wanna look good! :)
Anyway, since my schedule is SO messed up right now, I'm gonna wish y'all a stinkin awesome merry christmas in case I don't come back again for awhile. I'll also begin the happy bday in 19 days wish for myself:) 21!!! :D
peace y'all

We just got back from singing christmas Carols! :dancer: About 20 of us decided to go to the Seniors in the church and sing Christmas carols at each of their homes. We started about 6:00 tonight and got home about 9:30 and then had refreshments at my sons house.:T We really had a great time and all the Seniors loved it. We went to 12 homes. My throat is killing me. But it was worth it.
I saw the baby again! So pretty! :bb:
I guess I should fess up. Looks like I put 2 pounds back on. I was back up to 191 this morning. Just to many sweets and parties! But if 2 pounds is all I gain over the holidays I guess that is good. I'm not changing my scales yet. I'm going to wait until Friday and see if I can shake

Hope everyone is doing well :D
MyIvy...how is your son doing? I hope he is feeling better
Suz - I would leave the scale alone for a while especially this time of year, sometime frequent weighing can thwart all your efforts when you are faced with very tempting foods IYKWIM..but you are doing great just remeber your exercise!!!!:woops: :trampo: :swim: :strong:
Kiwi....Congrats on "grandbaby #5!!! :congrat: How exciting a Christmas baby! She sounds beautiful! :D Enjoy!
Well as for me my daughter and my "grand DOG" have arrived...:carrot: He is a very cute Yorkie but yaps quite a bit, nothing annoying "yet" :dizzy: He gets along great with the Cat but the pug and him kind of keep their distance and when they get to close to each other they both "yap". :?: But all in all it is great to have her home! She has gained a few pounds this semester and after seeing me and the weight I have been loosing she is working out and eating like me since she has arrived, I hope she sticks with it she is such a beautiful person, but if anyone with a weight issue knows it is hard! So wish me luck on keeping her on track!! :D
As for me!!!!! I HAVE MET MY DECEMBER GOAL!!!!!!! I like Kiwi wanted to see the 180's by Christmas and today I am drum roll............189!!!!!!!! :carrot: :cheer: I have lost 4 more lbs.!!!!!!!!!! :goodscale: :carrot: So I am quite pleased with myself!!!!!! Well mini update....I am in terrible pain, I have or should have said "HAD" a sebeceous cyst growing on the outer side of right leg...well it ruptured under the skin and I started to get a raging abcess :yikes: so on Thursday I had to have it lanced :yikes: and that hurt soo sooo much :stress: well today Saturday, my hubby and I get to remove the gauze packing that he (the suregon) packed it with....yuck yuck.... Why do they send people home to do jobs that they are not equipped to do? :dunno: I mean if I was well versed in "wound care" I would not have a problem, however I did not attending nursing school and I think this task should be left to the professionals who studied hard and earned a degree to this kind of stuff, not me and my ill equipped hubby to do so in the shower! :yikes: changing the dressing the past couple of days was so so stressful... and now today we get to remove the packing that was there to help it drain :dunno: ?
Wish me luck and to top it off the Augmentin that I am taking well to put it nicely has kept me in the bathroom, and now this a.m I woke up and I am loosing my voice...:stress: Merry Christmas :santa: LOL
Hope everyone does not pack on too many pounds....have a super Holiday....gotta run...well hobble off to the shower to start the debreeding process,

Hi everyone
I hope all of you had a great Christmas!:tree: Mine was wonderful.:hohoho: All the family made it in. 3 of my Grand kids got new bikes and they brought them to my house so they could ride them.:bike: They were all learning to ride so it was quite a site seeing different people running along side each child teaching them to ride including me.:bike2: The neighbors came out on there porches to watch us. It was a Kodak moment!
We are having a party at my house for New years. :newyear: We don't drink but we like to have fun so I do this every year. :woo: We play all kinds of games tell stories and just have a great time. When 12:00 is about to be here we all kneel and pray for all the families, friends, up coming year and well just pray the New Year in. :grouphug:
I started doing this when my kids got old enough to go out and I wanted them home for New Years. They invited all there teen friends over.:dancer: Then the next year the parents wanted to come and more of our adult friends. Then before long more friends and family were included now after 10 years it has become a tradition at our house and those kids that were teens are now adults with kids and they bring there kids and new friends. I love it!:hat:
Have fun everyone!

Hello Everyone: :gossip:
We too have survived Christmas :carrot: It was a very nice day :D On Christmas morning before we open any gifts we have to sing "Happy Birthday" to baby Jesus then the wrapping paper flies. Kiwi what a great tradition on New Years eve that you started!!!:cp:
I have managed to loose another 2lbs. last week, my weigh in days are on Monday, and on Christmas day I weighed myself and I was 187!!!!! :cheer: :carrot: :bravo: however I should have weighed myself after my Christmas meal, I think I ate my serving and few others in Pasta ( my severe weakness) :stress: but I will not dare get on the scale until New Years Day, I am trying to make up for my gluttony and at least break even on the scales :^:
My leg is healing nicely, I go to the doctor later today, he should tell me how well my husband and I handled "wound care 101" :dunno: I am no doctor but it looks and feels pretty good.
Well I have to run, we are having a New Year's eve party here, :?:
and my neighbors all DO DRINK, my hubby and I don't but they all do, I am stressing over what to serve, I think I am just gonna offer beer and wine and food of course more food than beer....:stir:  and we are playing Eucure so I need to see if we have enough cards.
Hope you all enjoy the rest of the Holiday Season....and Suz great job on tryng to get in some exercise :cheer: you go ....

Good Morning everyone,
Congrats Danni for losing the 2 pounds! :bravo: You are beginning to annoy me! I haven't lost anything!
I love the idea of singing Birthday to Jesus! Russ has always told the Christmas story to the kids before we open presents but this year since no one was coming over until 10:00 A.M. and we have Grand kids we waited until after lunch and everyone had settled down a bit. oh yeah that went over big with the Grand kids. ( sit down, hush papa is telling a story, i want to go play, i heard this story, can i go now? )
My husband made me go to the Doctor yesterday because we thought I might be getting a sinus infection and it turns out I have high blood pressure.:?: I don't know alot about that stuff because I rarely go to the doctor but they are making me go back next week take it again and then if its still high I have to take some test etc. I told the doctor I've been sick so I'm sure right now everything is out of whack but he insisted and Russ is such a worry wart.
Do any of you know anything about high blood pressure? Mine was 162/90. Is that really something to worry about or is the Doctor just trying to be cautious? You know doc, they always looking at the worst. He did tell me High blood pressure can lead to heart attacks but honestly I feel great(except for the cold) and I told him but I still have to go back. :dunno:
Danni have you ever heard of the game FARKLE? Its a dice came. It is so much fun to play!:cp: I haven't heard of Eucure. Its a good thing no one drinks around here because New years day everyone is playing paint guns (not me) in the woods and I would hate to have a hang over and get hit with paint balls!
Suz enjoy the movie, How much longer until you retire?:D
Have a wonderful NY and sbe safe!

Yes, 162 over 90 is pretty high. Not normal range.
Kiwi24
12-29-2006, 10:10 PM
But what is normal? On a scale of 1 to 10. 10 being ready to have a heart attack and 1 being Normal range where is 162? I mean I know it must be high but is it like a 3 or an 8?
I looked it up on internet but I couldn't find anything except how to lower it. It also talked about it being stressed related. I am sooooo not a stressful person. I think it may have something to do with the fact I've been sick.
Thanks Maria,
Kiwi

Kiwi,
I'm not a medical professional. But here's what I'm finding at nhlbi.nih.gov:
Normal: Below 120/80 (i.e., systolic [first number] below 120 _and_ diastolic [second number] below 80).
Pre-hypertension: systolic 120-139 or diastolic 80-89.
Stage 1 high blood pressure: systolic 149-159 or diastolic 90-99.
Stage 2 high blood pressure: systolic 160 or more or diastolic 100 or more.
This info is presented in an easier-to-read chart at http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/hbp/detect/categ.htm.
You're categorized by whichever number is relatively higher-- whichever number falls into the higher category. (So, for example, your 162/90 would be categorized as Stage 2.)
Treatment (lifestyle changes and/or drugs) is generally recommended for anything above 140/90.
"High blood pressure increases the risk for heart disease and stroke, the first- and third-leading causes of death for Americans. High blood pressure can also cause other problems, such as heart failure, kidney disease, and blindness." (http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/hbp/hbp/serious.htm)
It seems to me that if your BP is consistenly measuring around 162/90 that yes, you really should worry about it, and no, there's no good excuse for blood pressure to be that high.
Kiwi Please follow your docs advice for the high blood pressure it is a killer Maria gave some great advice One thing she did not say was that being overweight can also influence your blood pressur numbers So losing weight and getting fit should also help your numbers
I am planning to retire about the end of the 3rd week in July and since I omly work avg 15 days /month it really is not very long I can't wait
:newyear: Have a safe and wonderful new year suz

Hi Everyone :gossip:
Kiwi...I suffer from "white coat hypertension" which means everytime I go to the doctor my blood pressure sky rockets.... :stress: One "HIGH" reading does NOT mean that you have "HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE" the cuff could have been on wrong, too tight too loose, you are ill, nervous about being at the dr.s etc.
I would if your budget allows to go and get a at home blood pressure machine, SAMS club and Costco Walmart pharmacy all sells them and after sitting in the chair for 10 to 15 mins NOT after right after a meal either and take your blood pressure, then before you get out of bed take your blood pressure they have cuffs that you can put on yourself and you push a button and the cuff inflates on its own and a digital reading of your blood pressure will show on the display, after you have several readings ( I would keep a log) when you go back to the doctor see what theirs says and he should take the "average' of all your readings to determine if "yes" indeed you have high blood pressure or "NO" you do not. Remember 1 high reading does not mean you have high blood pressure, it is consistantly high at REST will mean you have high blood pressure, blood pressure fluctuates throughout the day, after you get up, eat, chores, and at rest. I am no doc, but I agree that being sick may also have something to do with an elevated blood pressure, your body can handle your blood pressure being elevated for a while it is "CONSTANTLY" high that weakens yours arteries and heart which makes you more prone to have a heart attack or stroke....so please ....relax... you need several readings to determine whether or not you have "high blood pressure" that requires medication. Exercise is one sure way to LOWER your blood pressure, 20 mins of average walking will bring it down 10 points..and of course loosing weight. So again relax.... I hope this helps....do you relax when you pray? listen to Christian music? if so everyday make some Kiwi time and pray/read scripture or listen to inspirational music and that too lowers one blood pressure. don't go to Walgreens and use their cuffs, these are not always working properly either and you need to sit and relax for 10-20 mins before you take the reading anyway and sitting at the blood pressure maching at walgreens for that long well you will like a Q-tip in training.....LOL....LOL IYKWIM??? get it q-tip old white haired person...LOL...LOL...which you are NOT old....
RELAX....even medication if you do have high blood pressure will lower it.
Talk later off to buy party food....
one more thing I again want to make clear, ONE high reading does NOT mean you have HIGH blood pressure. YOUR body CAN handle high readings, if you CONSISTANTLY HAVE HIGH readings that are constant is when you could do damage to your body. REMEBER..blood pressure fluctuates throughout the day.....you need several readings before you determine that you HAVE high blood pressure.... big hugs again,...stay calm...:hugs:

We have a bad storm coming up here. :rain: I was finishing up posting you and the power went off. :dunno: So I'll try again.
I did about 20 min of exercise.:exercise: I feel good about that. Right now I just want to get consistent on exercising I can pick up the pace as I go. :woops:
I was watching "talking about women's health" as I exercised. Its was interesting. :chin: They talked about replacing breakfast or lunch with a protein shake to lose weight and stay healthy. :cb: Also Patty Labelle was on talking about her book and diabetes. She has "Adult onset diabetes" You have a higher risk of getting it if: 1. you are over weight 2. over 45 3. history of diabetes in family 4. High blood pressure. I fall into all those categories. Its a good thing I went back to the doctor and let them run those test on me. They put me on Blood pressure medicine. :halffull: I don't feel any different at all except one of the pills (only 2 small pills I have to take) is a strong water pill and boy does it work! I have lost 4 of the 6 pounds I gained over the holidays! Yahoo! :bravo:
There is always a bright side to everything!!:flow2:
Anyway, getting back to Patti. She said she loves to eat and cook. :chef: Always has. So now she eats pretty much the same but cooks it differently but it taste good. Plus everything is low fat. I think I'm going to go to Books a Million this weekend and look at it and see if its something I would do. I'm also going to see about a good tasting protein shake.:crossed:
So how was your workout? I can't believe you started before me! :nono: Drag me out of bed to exercise and you already going at it! :frypan: Just kidding :joker: but there is no way I'm doing it before 8:00. :boxing: Actually, 8:00 a.m. seems to be a good time for me so I'll try again tomorrow!:goodvibes

Currently I'm working in retail and working on going back to school. I also write for a racing website. I don't believe in making new years resolutions because I almost always inevitably let go of them....I did last year. Instead I'm going for goals for 2007. Yeah yeah...so it's the same thing with a different name. Maybe it'll be easier for me to hold on to them. This month my goals are to drink no dark soda at all (only Sprite is allowed but once a week only), exercise no less than 3 times a week for at least 30 minutes and to drink a glass of water before I eat and one while I'm eating. I have a huge goal in the end, but right now I'm focused on those specific goals for the month. When I get through January, I'll add more for February. I look forward to getting to know all of you.

Yahoo!! :carrot: I have officially lost the whole 6 pounds I gained over the holidays!!:bravo: I have no doubt it was the water pill the doctor put me on but hey I love it. Now I'm back to 189!! :D
Scalewatcher I bought a cd yesterday at walmart "Yoga Booty Ballet" :yoga: It has 2 cd in it. 1 takes about 40 mins and the 2 takes about 50. One has a salsa dance to it.:dancer: I like it! I keep forgetting to write my stuff down! :write: As soon as I leave here I will do it.
My focus is to be in a size 7/8 or 9/10 by Oct 24th (my Birthday) But I'm only going to concentrate on 1 week at a time. Otherwise, I'll lose focus. this week I must lose 1.5 to 2 pounds by Friday!
We can do this!!
I signed up for the website yesterday and started checking everything out. It is pretty cool. :flow2: We don't have a Balleys here but its not like I would go. The military gives us a free workout center and I never go.
I'm off to write my food intake down!

wow. it's been SO long since I've been here! you don't even want to know what is up with me. I pretty much crashed and burned at home for Christmas. It's quite pathetic. But, I'm back here at school now, and I'm feeling pretty good about things. I'm giving myself a day or so of not so strictness to get used to not having real food and stuff, and then it's on!
Hope everyone had some awesome holidays!

Oh boy. Here I go. Things are starting all over again tomorrow. I'm starting with a clean slate. The only thing I will keep in mind is that I've already lost a lot of weight. I won't think of how much I had lost and gained back or anything. I think that might have been my downfall. I got myself too discouraged.
Keep up the good work y'all. You're making me jealous! I'm gonna have to start kicking butt just to keep up with you!
Oh, and wish me luck. I start my new job tomorrow morning. Holy cow am I nervous. Specially since I have NO idea when I need to be there. :)

Today i go back to my exercise class ,we stopped over the christmas holidays but I did manage to do my exercise tape at home about 4x and we also for for a couple of walks Now back to reality!!

HI All!!!!
Well I'm glad to see everyone has been trying to exercise I myself have kinda been lagging will try to push myself back to CURVES I will I am happy to see such motivation you guys inspire me. I plan to go back on meds this afternoon I skipped the morning dose been trying to slowly take myself off the meds but now I want to loose 20-25 lbs quick so will go back on. Also I will cut my carbs again and will do 1,200 cal intake.
I HOPE THIS INFO WILL HELP EVERYONE THIS IS WHAT I GO BY AS PER MY DR.
FYI FYI FYI FYI FYI
CARBS is about 30-40% The type of carb you eat is very important.
1. Decrease starchy carbs including pasta, rice, potatoes, and bread.
2. Do not eat bread after 10:00 am and do not eat free sugar.
3. Increase intake of fruits, veggies, salads, no fat soups and fiber.
PROTEIN
Protein should comprise about 40% of diet.
FATS
fats should comprise 20-30% of diet.
1. Eat low or no fat when possible. When eating fats, or cooking with oils eat monounsaturated fats such as olive oil and canola oil.
GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS
1. Drink 8 glasses of water a day.
2. Coffee and or tea in allowed in moderation.
3. Refrain from eating late in the evening.
4. You may consume alcohol in moderation although it slows metabolism.
Note after initial period of weigh loss your metabolic rate will slow down and weight may stabilize temporarily this is known as plateauing do not become frustrated.
Exercise
The most important type of exercise for fat loss is aerobic.
Try to exercise slowly and advance to 45 min a day 5 days a week.
Strenuous exercise is not necessary and may be counter productive.
Goal is to maintain your target heart rate within a zone that calories and fat are burned efficiently.
Example stair-master, jogging, brisk walking bicycle riding.
Weight training not advised.
Duration and frequency are very important factors in your exercise program.
During first 20 min of aerobic carbs are used for energy.
Only there after does the fat burning begin.
The duration is more important than the intensity.
GOOD LUCK TO ALL:carrot:

Kiwi I did it I did Leslie Sansone WATP . I did her 1 Mile Get up and get started and then her 2 Mile high calorie Burn and I was feeling good so I did her 3 Mile Super fat Burning. That was a total of 6 miles at 1 hr and 45 min. I had a great Breakfast. 2 Egg Whites, Slices of Jennie O Turkey bacon one Cup of Oatmeal, And 1 Cup of fruit.
I would like to let everyone know if they dont but When you eat alot of Veggies they have lots of fiber. Fiber can be hard on your Kidneys. My Husband Doc said that If you eat alot of Brocolli or high fiber foods make sure to eat lemon , Lemon breaks down the build up in your kidneys witch will help prevent kidney stones.
I buy some real lemon in( little packets )and add it in a few of my water bottles Hey you can even squeeze a real lemon too.

OMGosh Bonnie! I don't know how all you walkers do it? I am currently only 189. Of course I am only 5 feet tall but when I walk one mile my knees are killing me! I go shopping all day and my feet hurt plus my knees hurt. I can't imagine going 6 miles! Even if its in the house. I need to lose weight before I can walk that long. KUDO'S TO YOU Bonnie, Scalewatcher, Hpnotq, Dannie, Ivy, and I think Suz is into walking too. That's why you guys are losing the weight! I'm losing too just alittle slower than you! ha ha

Welcome Bonnie:welcome:
I am not sure i agree with not doing some weights as muscle burns more calories using light weights is not a bad thing it helps reshape your body and tone you i use 5 lb weights and do about 15 minutes 2x/week just for toning
i did not make it to exercise class on monday but did do my exercise tape at home
i also do not count calories I have theWW book and measure my food and also use a smaller plate for my food so far it seems to be working
keep on moving and losing suz:carrot:

Okay a friend of mine has got me on her 3 day diet. Its suppose to kick start your diet or maybe help get you off that plateau. Anyway, she does one of those member diets you see on tv like WW, LA, SB, PWL, So she has given me the 3 day one to help me get going.
So here's the deal. You are only on it for 3 days. You may have all the Protein you want of the following:
1. Beef, Chicken, Fish, Nothing fried.
2. Green veg. and salad.
3. You must eat 2 eggs any style each day.
4. You must eat 2 oranges each day
4. You must have 8 - 8 ounces of water each day
5. You must have 1/4 teaspoon of lite morton salt each day
6. you may have only 24 oz of Diet drinks
7. you may only have 2 packets of sweetener per day
You may not have
any fried food
No pork
No dairy
Supposely you don't get hungry because you can eat when you want and how much you want. the more food the better she said.
She had a whole paper on it but I've given you the quick version. If you are interested. I'm going to try it for 3 days including today. What I've had so far seemed pretty healthy to me but she says its not on a regular basis so its only allow for 3 days. She lost 4 pounds hasn't gained it back. Of course she does the actual diet now that she has done this. She has lost 23 pounds.
anyway I thought I'd pass it on.

Alright I finished up the night on the diet thing I was given. I ate all the salad I wanted without all the stuff I normally put on it. Then I ate all the chicken I wanted.
She's right I am not hungry. (at least today!) I drink bottled water so I had 4 today which put me over what I was suppose to have. I had my eggs and ate the oranges as snacks. I'll try again tomorrow and see how it goes.
Alright Hp!! That must have been exciting to see you lost at the Drs. office, normally you would gain on their scales. That's awesome!! 17 pounds in 1 day!!

Seriously now...jk...when PMS hits even if you exercise in small intervals helps you than not doing anything at all. Walk 10 mins, then later add another 10 and so on until you at least get up to 45 mins a day, you;ll be surprized at how fast 10 mins goes.... good luck...I am cheering for ya :cheer:

I love it and there are some with only 5 calories per tablespoon and I can eat that on my salads without oil...or what about those wishbone spritzers, can you have those? sorry but plain salad and chicken sounds very dry....like you....:joker:  JK...how have u been feeling? :tired: still under the weather? Hows your throat? if ya quit yelling all the time maybe it would not be so sore... JK hope you are feeling better

Congrats Hpnotq!! 6 pounds You go girl!:bravo:
Bonnie I'm so glad you found your brother. Maybe it won't be long and your families can renew your relationships :grouphug: But remember concerning your exercise, its easier to stop than to start back up. :D
Ivy you are looking good!:belly:
Suz I thought of you yesterday. My sister talked me into going to a weight watchers meeting and the leader there suggested using a smaller plate. Oh and by the way my clock is 15 mins. early!
Scalewatcher I love your tradition! That is so cool. I think I'd like to try that sometime and see how it works for our bunch.
Danni I have today left on this 3 day " Rabbit diet" :p Yeah you can have any type of dressing as long as its lite. For instance last night I had a side salad of mixed greens with lite balsamic , green beans cooked in butter, baked lemon pepper chicken from walmart. You can eat all you want. For only 3 days its not that bad.:nose: J/K It is doable. :) You can get creative. You can add to your salad eggs, cucumbers stuff like that but I just prefer mixed greens or a Caesars type salad. Its diffidently not something I would want to do more than 3 days because it is restrictive :tape: but I was hoping it would help get me passed this plateau. I so far have only lost 1 pound from it but it did get me unstuck and maybe I'll get more off by tomorrow morning.:goodscale
Hope everyone is doing good!! This is our year!:dust:

I made it through my first week on the paper! Yea! And, I somehow managed to lose about 4 pounds. Don't exactly know how that happened cause I've been sitting on my bum all week, but I did.
It looks like everyone is doing well. Keep it up! I'm hoping to find time to exercise this week. Not sure how that will work, but I'm gonna try.

I lost another pound!!That was 2 for the 3 day diet.I think I could have lost an extra pound but I wasn't exactly faithful to it and I kept forgetting to eat the oranges. If I reach a plateau again I think I'll do it again.
I have somewhere I have to be so I won't make our 8:00 AM exercise class. But keep on puffin!
Have a great weekend and Missindy Congrats on the Weight loss!!

I have had a AWESOME weekend!! :cheer: I think I told you that my sister talked me into going to a WW meeting. Well, I joined. :D I went to the Saturday meeting,(that's where I had to go) I LOVED IT!! :carrot: I learned, I laughed, and left thinking I am GOING TO GET THIS WEIGHT OFF!! :woohoo: I am soooo pumped.:cheer2: I was sooo excited that I was telling my sister I was going to lose my weight :goodscale become a group teacher :coach: and then buy a WW Franchise!!!:encore: NOW THAT'S MOTIVATION!! :high: I am telling you if WW had been a Home base business like Tupperware, Mary Kay or Avon she would have recruited me that morning!!!
I have done so well this weekend with eating right and learning the point system (I bought a point calculator, truly awesome) I went to Walmart and checked everything out with my new pt. calculator. Plus I eat out all the time and WW has a dinning out book which has just about all my restaurants in them .:T It makes choosing the right meal so easy! I couldn't believe how much calories(or points) something was that I normally ate when I could have had something just as good for half the Calories or Points!! When I was
done eating I wasn't STUFFED. I was "SATISFIED".
(new term they use in WW :joker: ) I think I'm going to be a Weight Watcher Nut!
Scalewatcher Exercise at 8:00 AM! :cp: I'm pumped girl so I may do some double time tomorrow morning!:woops:

Good Morning Everone: :gossip:
Hope you all had a great weekend and stuck to your "healthier" way of life ;)
I for one struggled last week, I don't know if it was the weather, or that I am PMSing getting ready for my visit from Aunt Flo :dunno: but I really had NO energy to walk :running: so I did not do what I noramally have been doing and it showed on the scale this morning... :^: :tantrum:
I was really hoping for a 3lb loss this week :crossed: this would have put me in the 170's!!!! but I only had a 1lb loss, I know it, it's a lb of FAT off my frame, I know to look at a lb of butter and that is what is gone, but I was really hoping for a 3lber this week :(
Well I know I have kick my butt in gear this week :kickbutt: leave the sushi alone :frypan: I mean all that sodium really...:dizzy:
Good Luck Suz  wish you lots of luck...keep positive :)
Kiwi..WW eh? I am not a fan but I hope it does wonders for you  glad to see you so pumped...you must be feeling all better :carrot:
Ivy how are your kids? How are u?
Missindy..glad to see you posting more...I am going back to school :( My classes start next Tuesday...hopefully this will take up "eating time" and keep my mind busy and not always thinking about food, hey can ya help write my papers.... :book2:
Well I am going to walk :running: walk :running: cuz I sure aint' eatin the calories... :drill: Good Luck ladies hope you have a wonderful work out and watch those calories!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had a good work out! :wl: I let my bottled water run out so I tried my Special K proten water. Love it!! I also bought a fusion drink. Haven't tried it yet except for the sample sip they gave when I bought it at walmart. Its vegetable juice with Strawberry and banana. :cb: Its only 2pts so its a great healthy drink. Try it Scalewatcher I think you will like it. :cp:
Danni you are right, I am feeling much better since I was placed on the blood pressure medicine.:D I just feel better all over. Its hard to explain. I was afraid I would forget to take the medicine everyday:chin: because I've never been a big pill person but its funny I have a inner clock. I will start getting a headache and realize I haven't taken my HB medicine. Then I take it and within 30 mins headaches gone. :goodvibes That's so funny to me because I still can't believe I have it.
You are really doing great on your diet. :carrot: Dannie, Whatever it is.;) Probably due to all that exercise and walking you do.:exercise: :running: Of course if you will notice your ticker. I am right on your butt!! :kickbutt: I believe I can take you! :boxing: :goodscale
Kiwi
i weighed in this morning still at 168:( i started the 3 day diet my DH decided he would do it also He will probably lose 6lb and I will lose 1 lb thats the way it goes
Did not make it to exercise today we had freezing rain this morning so I will do my tape later
Talk to everyone later suz :carrot:

Well I just walked the treadmill for 50mins....argh...:woops: boy only loosing a lb. really kicked my butt into gear...:kickbutt:
Suz....good for you, I wish you mucho success on the three day diet... :D  I know what ya mean about hubby's loosing much more than us  I hope your hubby looses weight, but I hope you loose more :cheer: Keep us posted.
Kiwi as long as you stay behind me where you belong, "no worries" :club: cuz I don't look back...only forward...only forward....I gotta catch Suz...geesh 160's I would not know how to act, yes I would go out and by me some lacy undies that my fat butt could not fit into if I was in the 160's...
so you keep bringing up my rear Kiwi that is right where I want ya... and we are good :p
My diet is the HMR Healthy Solutions Plan...It is a medically supervised program through a local hospital, but you can join on line as well. When I was on WW I never learned how to eat HEALTHY..I always saved my points for junk, junk in junk out :^: :blah: plus always counting points all day long day in and day out was just not for me, I was constantly thinking about food :chin: :cbg: and worrying about how many points I had left before they were all gone for the day :( So needless to say I was not a success story on WW :stress: :nono:
With Healthy solutions I consume about 1200 1500 calories a day, they have classes you can attend if a local hospital is near you if you sign on line you get a phone sponsor...they practice "MORE IS BETTER" attitude and you need to stay in the box, meaning they give you a tool box so to speak and as long as you stay in the box you will loose weight. They really push Physical activity also known as PA and fresh fruits and veggies...for me this is something that is finally working :carrot: I have always maintained there a million "diet" plans out there and they ALL carry success stories :carrot: most of the battle we face is to find out which one really works best for our selves, so after numerous diets, WW, south beach, shangrali, slimfast, etc to name a few...this has been working the best so far for me, I hope to become one day a success story where I reach my goal!! :crossed: so that is what I am doing good luck with WW it has helped alot of people obtain their goal weight...unfortunatly I was not one of them :(
Well I am off to eat lunch....and drink some more water, I think that was part of my problem last week too, you need to drink water to flush away the fat cells and I did not drink my min. :dz: let alone drinking over....so drink your water girls...

Hey Everyone:)
I didn't get to post earlier today. I did my exercise and I did my weigh in. I am at 199.2 no loss no gain. I am going to kick it up a notch this week.
Congrat s Kiwi- I tried doing the WW on my on from information I could gather from the internet, books, and other people. I love the Points System. That is what I was doing to lose the weight I lost last year. I just can't afford to pay for the meetings right now or I would so be there. I am proud of you for trying it. I think you will see a great result. I am so invious (sp).
Danni, Suz, Ivy, Misscindy, and Hp - Keep up the good work :D
Who is this teacher? I can't wait to meet her or him????:dizzy:
Got to go til tomorrow I meet you at 8:00.;)
Morning everyone
I also WW and lost 25lb then I quit I found that the leader was more supportive of the people she knew and not so with newer people when I quit i put all th weight back on and about another 10 lbs
i eat healthy but enjoy food to much so i always seem to eat to much that is why i now measure my food and joined the fitness classes in town i know the exercise is working i have lost at least as many inches as lbs
Keep moving and losing Ladies suz :carrot:

OMGosh! Is this what I can expect from WW? :fr: Its seems all of you have tried it and then stopped for one reason or another.:?:
I know what you mean about the Teacher. Actually, my sister and I went first to a Thursday meeting and I didn't like the Teacher.:dz: She seemed very uncomfortable speaking and seemed to just ramble seeking approvable from the crowd. :halfempty She ignore the new people so I felt confused about her topic. Actually, this group seemed more like a selective club with many clicks:snooty: so I felt unwelcomed by all of them. :gossip: When I become a teacher;) I will make sure new people feel welcomed.
We decided to try Saturdays group. This teacher was friendly, funny and knowledgeable and could handle the crowd.:high: I liked how she got the crowd talking including new people. People will tend to reflect their leader or teacher so everyone seemed friendly and as guest we felt welcomed.:grouphug:
I know what you mean about counting points. :dizzy: It seems I do that all day long. Then again I did that with calorie counting. But the point system seems easier for some reason and it includes fat and fiber count, which I never did when counting calories. :chin:
Of course my favorite way of dieting was the "I don't count calories or fat diet" :lol3: Which means I didn't want to be accountable to what I ate so I cut back on what I ate assuming I would "know" when to stop or what not to eat. :mcd: 77 pounds later I'm seeing my relection in a window wondering what the heck happened?
I believe that anyone successful at dieting had a good support group. :cheer: I believe you ladies are mine. :grouphug: I also believe WW will be supportive. :high: So for all of you dissing Weight Watchers I say this:
DON'T HATE ME 'CAUSE YOU AN'T ME!:D
Just kidding. I am prepaid on this thing for 9 weeks. :tantrum: So, I plan to work with it and if it doesn't work then I'll try something else on this non ending struggle to find my beautiful figure :belly: under this women's size body!:yikes:

Good Morning everyone,
Its been wonderful so far. No Grandkids today which means I can get alot of things done! Yeah!! :cp:
How is everyone else doing? Suz how did the 3 day work for you? :carrot: I hope it did. You probably could have been more faithful than me. How did your Husband do? Men! My husband can lose so quick!! grrr!:tantrum:
I know what you mean about not getting the support and that's why I'm so thankful for all of you. Like both you and Danni were trying to say. There are so many diets out there with success stories and we've just got to find what works for each of us. :carrot: If this isn't the one that works for me this time,:dizzy: I'm going to run the next one before all of you FIRST before I spend any money! HA HA
Butterfly, just take one step. Figure out what you can do and do that. It took awhile to get the weight on and it will take awhile to get it off :goodscale Just find one thing right now that you can change that will make a difference in your weight loss? Example, Do you drink cokes? Stop drinking coke for 21 days and drink diet or water or tea for 21 days. just make 1 small change. It will make a huge difference in your motivation. Make your goals achievable. :high: You wouldn't expect someone to exercise 1 hour a day if they have NEVER exercised? That would be defeating? They couldn't do it and then they would feel like a failure so eventually they would quit all together.:(
Hang in there girl! :D
Hope everyone is doing great today. I skipped exercise, :barbell: sorry, so much for 21 days of habit! I think I do better with weight loss when I limit it to 4 or 5 days a week. Does that seem like it makes sense?
Anyway, chat later.

Great Bonnie,
Drinking water is a great choice. :bravo: But remember even that may take some building up to. I find it easier to drink the required amount by getting 4 -16.9 bottles of water and drinking one by mid morning the second by mid lunch the third by dinner and then I usually finish off the last one by bed time. I tried drinking from 1 big 64 oz mug. But I never finished it. :(
How is everyone else doing? Aunt Flo showed up a few days ago so I really expected to have a hard week. But its been great:cp: (still pumped) but I haven't lost anything either and I don't think I can retain water since Doc has me on a water pill.
I have a hair appointment today so Scalewatcher I will be exercising early today so I can get ready and leave on time.

Well i finished my 3 day jump start and weighed myself today and i lost 2lbs YEAH!!!:cp: I do not know how much my DH lost as he forgot to weigh himself :dizzy: i will now go back to measuring my food and using a smaller plate
why is it that when we lose weight it never where you need to lose it my legs are getting smaller and firmer but i need to lose most of my weight in my torso so it makes my gut look bigger :dunno:
I am at work tonight and will exercise a couple of time this weekend and weigh in on Monday and see if I can maybe drop one more lb by then
butterfly hang in there and as Kiwi said start with small changes and when you start to exercise do not over do it work up to more and more start with 10 or 15 minutes and add about 5 minutes more each week and try to find an exercise you like to do make little changes each week good luck

I can't wait to see what my weight is Saturday at WW. I weighed in with them at 193.5 (of course that's with clothes on.) :o I'm thinking there is a 4 pound difference in there scales and mine. I'm expecting a 4 pound weight loss with them but hoping for a 5 because I get a Key chain at 5 pounds!! ha ha ha
Way to go bonnie! :cheer: Be sure you don't get hungry through out the day. You need to be satisfied when you eat.:) Not stuffed but satisfied. If you are eating just light snack foods you are going to stay hungry and eventually binge.:ink: Eat good meals.:hungry: By that I mean healthy. If you are eating healthy you won't crave to snack :mcd: as often which can cause a binge.

hey y'all! So, I totally suck with posting on here lately. I've given up saying that I'll post more cause it's not likely. I've been trying to keep up with reading your posts, and I must say it's quite discouraging. Y'all are doing SO much better than me! so yea to y'all for that!
I just cannot get with it. I don't know what my deal is. I feel like giving up. Actually, I feel like I gave up about 2 months ago. argh!!!
I watched Super Size Me last night/this morning. I can see where a lot of people criticize it. "there is not anyone who eats it that much" Well, I'm sure there are. Also, the crap he ate is the same as other crap. It just has a name brand on it. The movie was quite inspiring. I did okay today even. My only problem was that I caved and bought a cherry coke. I had an extremely difficult class (mostly hit my emotions and stuff, very odd) and I caved.
I work tonight though, so that's good.
Well, I think I've rambled on about enough. Have a great weekend!

Kiwi Good luck at WW this morning, I think :crossed: that you will be pleasantly surprised. I hope the scales are good to you! :goodscale:
Missindy, Please do not give up...... weight loss is a journey and on every journey you are bound to run into a few obstacles, key is to NOT let the obstacles steer you off course. You can do this, just give yourself the time! :goodluck:
Bonnie good luck with your baby steps, everybit helps. :D :goodluck:
As for me it has been one heck of a week, I have been in meeting after meeting after meeting and when I get home it seemed like my phone never stopped ringing :yikes: I have stayed on track with my eating :carrot: I have done at least 1 hour PA (physical activity) each day so far...it will be hard today, cuz Aunt Flo will visit any day now...:^: I weigh in on Monday so I am hoping for a nice loss :crossed:
I went shopping yesterday, just cuz Kohl's has a great sale, not expecting to look at clothes cuz that has been always a stressful point..:fr: Here I am in the womens section and I am looking at the size clothes I used to wear 22W, my mind has NOT caught up with my new body of course they are too big... so I go down slowly and by gosh "EVERYTHING" in the "women's plus" section were TOO BIG!!! :cheer:
It has been so long since I have shopped anywhere but the Plus section I did not know where to go...LOL :dunno: well I went on over to Misses and I am happy to say that I am in a 14 MIsses  :cheer: cofortably and tried a 12 misses and they fit but I would be uncomfortable in them all day!! so that blew my idea that I was gonna cheat last night, I was so pumped I came home and had my dinner and water and quite proud of my accomplishment thus far. :carrot:

I had Fajitas last night. Sooooo Gooooood! :whoo: I counted it up to be 19 pts . So that put me over yesterday 12 pts but still kept me within my 35 and now today I start all over again!!:encore:
Congratulations Danni!!!! How wonderful to to be in a 12 to 14! Right now I'm still squeezing into a 16. Being short is such a bummer at times. It takes so much weight to lose to show a difference in sizes.
You go Bonnie! Exercise is really great first thing in the mornings. I think I like them better. I'm still only up to 20 mins. though.:exercise:

Good Morning Everyone:hug: - Looks like you are all doing great. My computer has been acting up. My son fixed it for me. I can now start posting again. I have had a not so great week. I am ready to get back to the task at hand.... LOSE THIS WEIGHT. I have gained 1.2 pounds instead of losing. So I have to try extra hard today to get back to 199.2 by tomorrow. I would really like to be under 199.2:p . Before my knee injury I was at 195.4 I really would like to erase all the ups and down and just have the downs(weight loss). OK enough of that. I can do this I can do this..... :dizzy::dizzy::dizzy:.

Good Morning everyone,
I had a great weekend. There is a website called Dotti's weight loss zone that our teacher talked about. :comp: It really is wonderful. I had bought the dinning out book from WW but this had over 500 restaurants in them with alot more choices! I was going to Zaxby's until I pulled it up on Dotti's and saw how horrible even the Salad I normally would have ordered was loaded with points! :yikes: I ended up going to Captain D's for lunch after church and was able to have the shrimp scampi. :carrot:
I found some pants this weekend that were the kind I was looking for a long time. The problem is they are a 16 and fit way to tight to be seen in them. I was excited I could actually put them on and zip them but would never wear them out. Sooooooo I bought them and I am going to work myself into them!!:woops:
Bonnie that is really a bummer about the Doc's. Which is another reason you should take things slow.
Scalewatcher, I'm so glad your computer is fixed. Been there so I know what its like. Don't beat yourself up about the weight gain. Let me share something that happened to me this weekend and put me on a different mindset.
I was at a stop sign Saturday and this guy was blowing his horn at these people who were not crossing quick enough. :frypan: When they finally did I watched to see where he was going in such a hurry and he pulled into the Drive through at McDonald's. I just laughed but it got me to thinking. We live in a self gratification world. We want results and we want them now. We stand at elevators pushing buttons because the door won't open quick enough. We rev or ingines when at a red light because we don't like sitting there waiting. :scooter: We get mad at the drive through windows because those poor people don't give us what we want quick enough.:tape: We are a fast pace society and we want results immediately!:tantrum:
Its that same mind set we have when dieting. We have been faithfully dieting all week sometimes 2 or 3 and get on the scales just to see it hasn't moved. :sorry: So in our quick gratification what do we do?
WE PIG OUT!! :ink: When the results we want doesn't happen quick enough we get discouraged, frustrated or mad and begin doing things that will result in defeat. :cookie: :m:
Losing weight takes time. But if you keep doing enough of the right things it will come off. Lets commit that we will stick together. Don't worry about everyone else's weight loss. Focus on your own progress and take it
one step at a time.

I woke up feeling completely gross this morning. I haven't felt this disgusting in awhile, and honestly, I'm glad about about it. I think I was getting comfortable with myself again, and that's why I wasn't trying as hard. Now, I just feel like working out and eating well and stuff.
This weekend wasn't that great for me. Bad weather and the off season made us dead at the restaurant I work at, so we spent half the night sitting around and talking and munching.
And now I'm off to class. hooray!

Hey whats up??? Hopefully getting better for me. Well I did some research on my knee and Elbow What is wrong with my elbow is Cubital tunnel Syndrome it is from bending my elbow for long periods of time . the only thing I can think of is I bend my elbow when I go to sleep and Put my hand under my pillow . HHHHMMMM . Well for my Knee thats another story Tendonitis ??? I kinda watched what I ste today but I want to give my body some time to heal. My Half of hand is still Numb. If I go back to the doc on monday and my hand is still numb they are sending me to a neurologist. From what I read the only other course is to wear a arm splint to bed at night. If that dont work they have to go in and remove my Nerve that is causing the problem. Other then that I am doing great.. Check back in tomorrow.

Way to go Danni!!:tantrum: I'm happy for you!:rollpin: You are doing great!! Seriously, Bravo girl!:bravo: So, you are 5'5 and are 179 and dropping and you are in a 14. Can we call you SKINNY yet?!! :D That's so funny because me being 5 feet tall a size 14 would still be considered chucky for me. A 9/10 is a athlete look for me. Meaning I could stand to lose a little more weight but I don't look bad. An 8 is where I need to be to look good. :high: I bet that would make you look like a skeleton!:yikes:
Bonnie I've known 3 people who have had surgery for corporal tunnel on there hand by different surgeons. All three regretted the surgery. :( I don't know if what you are talking about is close to the same thing but Before any surgery you should get several opinions by doctors.:gossip: Then find out if the surgeon doing it has had many success rates after the surgery.:mag: I mean if they all agree you should have the surgery then you should at least make sure the person doing it has a success rate with it. :crossed:
How is everyone else doing? Well I'm going to go exercise so I'll write later.

Good Morning everyone! :D
What a beautiful day we have been given!:carrot:
Bonnie sorry to hear about the health woes, that does not help when one is trying to shed some pounds. :nono: Try not to let it discourage you, you are making a "healthier you" and to do that you need to take care of medical issues and drop some weight. You can do it just stay focused on the goal...a new improved, healthier, slimmer Bonnie! :cp:
Kiwi, I am so glad you share my joy in my weight loss  You are just too kind  to me  Skinny? not yet, well to everyone who knows me, yes they say I am so skinny now :cp: for those who just see me on the street and I am in my size 14's and do not know that I dropped almost 40lbs already would say...she needs to shed a few pounds...:tantrum: I have been in the plus sizes for about 14 years now so to be in a misses 12/14 is an awesome feeling for me, I never thought I would get here, I figured maybe an 18 plus would be an improvement so to me I feel skinny!!! :cp:
Ivy... that is so great you are the "MOM"...I always said when I had kids I wanted to be the "koolaid" mom and have all the kids at my house...:?: :kickbutt: Becareful for what you wish for...cuz I am the KOOLAID MOM and all the 13 year olds are at my house :fr: :frypan: But I love it too, I love being that mom too...along with soccer mom, basketball mom, pool mom...LOL

Hosted a Pampered Chef party last night. :hun: She baked a 5.5 pound chicken in 35 min. from the Microwave. She didn't put nothing in it but seasoning and it baked in its own juices in stoneware. It came out brown and sooo moist.Very Good and the party went great! :D I earned a lot of stuff free! So naturally I got that stoneware as one of my free items. Anything I can cook in a microwave that good I like to have.
Congratulations Suz! Its so cool to see you dropping!:bravo: I can't wait to get there!
Congratulations Ivy, your weight is peeling off.:carrot: You don't have much longer to reach goal! You go girl!

* 1 cup steamed zucchini
* 1 Oreo Cookie
* Herb tea
MID-AFTERNOON SNACK:

DINNER:

* Large pepperoni & mushroom pizza Large pitcher caffienated soda (any brand)

* Entire Sara Lee cheesecake - direct from freezer.
DIET TIPS
1. If no one sees you eat it --- it has no calories.
2. If you drink a diet soda with a candy bar they cancel each other out.
3. When eating with someone else, calories don't count if you both eat the same amount.
4. Food used for medicinal purposes NEVER counts such as: Hot Chocolate, Brandy, Toast and Sarah Lee cheesecake.
5. If YOU fatten up EVERYONE ELSE around you--then YOU look thinner.
6. Movie related foods don't count because they are simply part of the entire entertainment experience and not part of one's personal fuel, such as Milk Duds, popcorn with extra butter, and Junior Mints.
good evening

Okay I sabotaged myself yesterday. I allowed my daughter in law to bring a cake into my house yesterday believing I would be fine. :^: I ate good bk., then lunch, but that choc. muffin plus looking at that cake put me in the mood for cake all day. I hardly had any water just diet cokes. I craved sweets all day:hb: and I finally broke down and ate a red velvet cake with cream cheese icing!! Just a small sliver of a size but then I did it again :ink: and then right before bed!! :stress: I drank a whole bottle of water before going to bed but this morning I was up 1 pound. :tantrum:
I threw the cake in the garbage. I will be drinking water all day today and back to exercise. (which I'm still not addicted to, I think someone lied to me about the more I exercise the more I'll love it! )
suz, let us know how your class turns out. That is funny.

Aw Kiwi...you had to mention THAT kind of cake, didn't ya? That's pretty much my favorite! :)
Things here are picking up. My roommate just pushed too far last night which was good cause I was so pissed I went and powerwalked around campus for about an hour. Things don't seem to be getting any better, so maybe I'll do it again soon. ugh...
I'm so disgusted with myself I've decided not to count pounds lost yet, not till I get back to where I was. That may sound defeatist, but it's not. I think that when I know I'm losing weight I start to feel like I can do things and it won't matter. But then I do too many things and it all turns to crap. So, right now I'm just gonna focus on getting everything back under control (in EVERY aspect of my life) and then I'll worry about the pounds again.
Hopefully I'll be back to post later today (I'm gonna work on that too :))
peace y'all

hey everyone!
I ate kinda bad last night after work, but I didn't eat hardly anything all day, so I guess it kinda made up for it. And, anyway, it was REALLY good and definitely what I needed/wanted, so I'm gonna be okay with it. But only this once!
Other than that, I'm keeping pretty good on everything. Got some extra exercise this morning cause my car wouldn't start. Man it is SO stinking cold here. I called my dad to complain about my car, and my hand seriously hurt when I switched ears and put that one in my pocket.
Oh, and unfortunately, I have not gotten the scholarship yet. I had to fill out a killer application a few weeks ago, and now I'm in the finals for it. It's all good though cause I have to go do an interview, and it's in my hometown, so I'll get to see my parents again in a couple of weeks. yea!
I hope y'all have/had a great weekend. And stay warm! :D

Suz I currently live in the thumb of Michigan...Port Austin...quiet little resort town that booms in warmer months..Ann Arbor is about 2-3 hours away, have had to take my son to their wonderful hospitals  so I know that area all too well. If you ever come to Michigan :callme: look me up we can do a lunch oops..no:tape: we could take a walk :running:
I am feeling better today, not so blue about not loosing even a pound, ounce something..:dunno: I danced around for about 45 mins. I am switching up my exercise routine and I am suppose to increase my calories every other day, according to my coach :coach: so I added 200 extra yesterday today will be a "normal" 1200 and tomorrow I will add the extra 200..geesh...no one ever said all this was easy..:stress:
Words of wisdom for today:
Becoming enlightened is like being a pumpkin.
God lifts you up, takes you in, and washes all the dirt off of you.
He opens you up, touches you deep inside and scoops out all the yucky stuff -
including the seeds of doubt, hate, greed, etc.
Then He carves you a new smiling face
and puts His light inside you to shine for all the world to see.
So if you fill yourself up with junk, all the hard word to enlighten you wil be lost! :D
Have a great day ladies,... (even you too Kiwi.:snooty:....)

I've bumped up my exercise routine also. :exercise: :running: I learned Saturday how to figure points for exercise so that I can either eat more, maintain or lose. Pretty cool. My goal for them was to add 3 points for exercise this week. Which means 25 minutes at low impact at least 3 times this week. My personal goal was 15 minutes 5 days this week. So it all works out!
Congratulation Suz for the weight loss!! :bravo:

Yesterday was pretty horrible for me. Because of dealing with my car, I had to deal only with food in the office cause I couldn't get back to my room. (oh how I love puppy chow though) I did get a bunch of extra walking though cause my car was stuck on the other side of campus. I'm probably gonna weigh myself tonight to see if I've gotten anywhere. I've tried not to cause I haven't been doing that great, and I didn't want to get down and do worse, but now I'm curious. :)
Oh, and Danni, it's still cold here. They said it would get warmer, but now they're saying snow. I love snow, but I would rather it wait until I get my car back.
And Kiwi, I'm glad you like my pic. It's an old one. I have to do my "photo shoot" tomorrow to get a pic to go with my editorials in the paper, so hopefully there will be another one, a new one, up in a couple of days.

Then on Monday morning I will have dropped 2-3 pounds from Saturday morning.:goodscale Then I spend the rest of the week TRYING to lose more:exercise: but only to find that on Saturday Morning the only weight lost was what I lost that Monday morning. I know I know at least I lost. :^: But what in the world am I doing on Sat. and Sunday that is causing the weight loss that I'm not doing the rest of the week? :dunno: If I could figure that out I could probably lose more weight!:halfempty
Okay take a deep breath...... So how is everyone this morning? ;)
Danni every time you do your blood pressure thing this week I want you to think of me.:^: Picture my face. Hear the words coming out of my mouth :p as I say........
"What is wrong with you? That's to tight!!" :yikes:

Kiwi- that's kinda odd. it would seem that your weight would go up over the weekend and drop during the week. that's kinda how mine is. weekends basically just don't count. I get no exercise unless I work a bunch, and if I work a bunch, I eat there too and that combats any good.
yea it's snowing!

Hey try this new reciepe I got. Its wonderful!! I made this tonight for the church and everyone loved it.
1 can ff chicken broth
1 can ff refried beans
1 can black beans (drained)
1 small jar salsa
1 14 oz can diced tomatoes (use the petit diced)
(I used Rotel in place of the salsa and diced tomatoes)
1 can corn (about 14 oz is what I used)
10 oz chicken breast, cooked, shredded.
I added the refried beans, tomatoes or rotel and broth.......heated it to "dissolve" the refrieds and then added the rest of the ingredients. Think it was 3 points for a 2 cup serving. I LOVED this soup- 1 cup was very filling and yummy. Enjoy......

Good Morning,
Well I made the soup for everyone at church and they all loved it! :D Everyone wanted the recipe. I did change it up a bit. I didn't have any tomatoes :chin: so instead of adding salsa and a can of tomatoes I just added 1 can of Rotel to replace both. Basically the same thing but with a kick.:cp:
Missindy if I didn't lose on the weekend I just wouldn't lose all week. It can be frustrating because I really don't do anything on the weekend and all week long I'm trying to exercise and control my eating habits. Maybe that's what it is.:chin: I work all week to lose but nothing. Then on the weekend when I'm not really dieting all the work I did that week shows itself. The rest of the week is showing what I did over the weekend. ;)
Goals?....7 pounds for Feb:carrot:

Well, we got snow, but we also still have class. I hate going to a school where almost everyone lives on campus.
Got some personal turmoil going on right now, but it's all good. Lost another couple of pounds. That's good. And now I must go and study for a quiz. hooray!

I'm thinking about starting a new post. :D
This one is like over 10,000 comments. I was thinking that maybe since its so big it causes new people to avoid it.:( What does everyone else think? ;)
We would use same title we would just start new at one. It might even be good to start fresh since this is a new month. :carrot: We can start new goals. Actually find something that we all have in common that we can work together to achieve. :smug: Yes I know we all want to lose weight. But I'm talking besides that.
Like something we can all DO together to make each other accountable. This way we can encourage each other more because we are doing the same thing.
Make sense? Give me your feed back.(today) If we are going to do this then lets start today. Lets find a common ground. Like walking (which I hate) But I've seen where people count there steps? I guess you would have to have something that tracks that. Lord knows I don't want to count my steps all day. I'd forget and have to start over! ha ha Are if you have a better Idea let me know

I don't care. So, I guess I'm in. The walking thing is fine, but really easy for me considering I go to college and I serve. So, I'm gonna totally kick your butt with the step thing. :) Yea! I'll finally be ahead in something!

Well I stay away from Alcohol. I obtain from evil! I Used to drink. It didn't make me eat at all. As a matter of fact I was pretty thin. ;) Unfortunately, when I drink I lose all inhibitions and becomes
a bit of a "Ho".:belly:
So, since I do have 2 sons who are preachers and a husband who's in the ministry, I don't think they would appreciate me resurrecting that side of my life again. :nono: Then again my husband might appreciate an
occasional binge!  Oh Lord, :judge: you know I'm just kidding! :^:
Well, moving on then I guess we can count steps. Unless we can come up with something better. I had thought of inches but that takes real long. :smug:
