Hope the weather is better. Can't wait to hear about the shower.
Did they take the polyp out right then? I am glad it went well. I didn't know you could drink gatorade with that. COOL!
Well we are cleaning the garage this weekend. Brandon wants to have band practice here tomorrow. What a job. It is mostly Bruce and the boys but I am supervising.
Brandon had his first game Friday, We played Mountain Brook (What a ritzy palce). Natalie Holloway went there. Those pics they showed of her in the flag corp, I recognized the uniforms.
He did really great. The band looked impressive. Big sound.
I'll talk to ya later.
09-04-2006, 08:49 PM
Terri, must be so cool having the boys practice right at home. They took the polyp out. The drink I had is something new.
How was everybody's Labor Day weekend? Mine was nice. Went to my brother's for a barbecue. Totally blew it but I'm starting fresh tomorrow. I started walking this weekend. It bothered my back a little but I'm not letting that stop me. I have to do something. I'm going to walk a 1/2 hour everyday, weather permitting. Once I get back into my exercise routine I'll feel better.
Well my friend's, back to work tomorrow. But it's a short work week.
Have a good evening.
09-05-2006, 10:38 AM
Morning everyone... well W/I did not go as well as I had hoped so I really missed my labor day challange goal... missed it by a mile but I am up for a Thanksgiving Day Challenge and will try it again... I am just crawling along with my weight loss right now... bit by bit, like .6 and then a .8 but that is about as good as it gets... at least it is going down and not up. I have my finals posted in my signature line and will try and do better when I make my Thanksgiving challenge goal.
Had a really nice weekend here... got some cleaning done, a bike ride - 8.5 miles, and a cook out on labor day along with a birthday celebration for my oldest sons girlfriend. Full but satisfying weekend :D
E's: Glad it is over and done with... I know my turn is coming up soon for one of those also so I take strength that you don't act like it was too bad of an experience ;)
Terri: The whole garage cleaning thing is something that I have to tackle here really soon but it keeps getting moved to the bottom of the list :^:
All: have a very happy day!
09-06-2006, 05:41 PM
Hi all
So my Labor Day Challenge was a BUST but I'm finally on track since Sunday and already lost 4 pounds! I love the first weeks results
Life is now slowing down FINALLY, now that the wedding is over. I'm trying to re-organize myself here at home. Jenna, Jimi and Rylea have bought a house so they will be moving out of ours and into their own. It's a little sad. I won't be coming home from work and seeing Rylea's smile EVERYDAY :( I won't be here to see her wake up on weekend mornings :( I won't be able to sit out by the pool EVERY NIGHT with her smile :( I suppose I should be smiling though......our lives here will get back to a routine because, since they've lived with us, it's been strained at times. I mean, it's hard when your grown kids move back home WITH additions. The good thing is that the house they are buying is only 3.6 miles away from us!! Better than the 1500 miles if they still lived in FL.....so, that said, I guess I should be :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: right? :)
I am home today with a soar throat and headache.....my head is pounding right now but I wanted to stop in and say hi since I've been MIA.
I'll talk with y'all on the weekend.....weigh in is Saturday and I'm anxious to see how my first FULL week went
Have a great rest of the week and I'll talk to you's guys in a few days.
09-08-2006, 10:29 AM
Zoe: Hope you are feeling better...
E's: How is your week going? Any plans for the weekend?
Terri: Did you get the garage cleaned out? Always a fun task!
Have to run but have a great weekend everyone!
09-09-2006, 09:22 AM
Susan, I had a good week. I lost 2 lbs. I started walking so I think that's helping.:running: I know a slow weight loss is disappointing but after a few months it adds up to quite a bit.
Zoe, Rylea is so cute. I can see why you'll miss her. I would love waking up to her smile. Thank God they'll only be a few miles away. Hope you're feeling better.
I have a nail appt.
09-09-2006, 12:42 PM
ZoeGirl - I know its sad to see them move out, but consider this.... you will now have the best of both worlds. They live close enough that you can go and get Rylea and keep her for the day or overnight and then give her back to her parents when you've had enough, lol. That's what we do - Willie's son lives next door with his kids and his daughter Lisa lives 5 minutes from us, so we can see them whenever we want and then go back home. I hope you're feeling better buddy.
Es, amiga - congrats on the 2 lbs loss :bravo: that's great. Good going with getting back to walking. I have to get back to the gym, we haven't been in at least 2 weeks.
Willie and I went bowling last night, he kept saying he was gonna whip my butt, ha, ha, ha - no way did that happen, lol. I won. But I was amazed at how many young people were there ... I felt a little out of place. Then the music was like unbelievable, every other word was s--t, f--k, mother f----r. Wow, times sure have changed and I'd say not for the better. Anyway, it was fun and good exercise, and it got me missing my league days, so I'm gonna check out a fall/winter league and try to get back to bowling.
Hi Jen, Terri and Sandy (how's Mike's new job?) and Princess & bj. Hope you all have a great weekend. I took off this Monday again :carrot:
Talk to you's soon.
09-10-2006, 08:40 AM
Amiga, bowling is a lot of fun. Times have changed for the worst. Have a great day off.
Weekends go by so fast. It's nice & cool today. Good walking weather.
Have a great day my friends:wave:
09-11-2006, 07:57 AM
Good loss :cp: the walking really helps, that's great. Hope you're feeling better each day.
Some of the music is so bad now. I miss bowling! Haven't been since my knees started acting up. Are you still on a league?
Hope you're feeling better. Having Rylea so close is a good thing. You'll still be able to see her as much as you like.
All those losses will add up, you're doing great! And that's an impressive bike ride...the physical activity counts for a lot. :D
I love reading of all your kids' activities. I miss all that...sometimes
How's everything? I made three batches of pesto with the basil from my herb garden, then froze it for the winter months. We're having a good crop of peppers this year; the tomatoes are so-so...but still plenty for the two of us.
Hope everyone has a great week!
09-11-2006, 12:46 PM
September 11, 2001 - 5th Anniversary.
All of our heroes, NEVER forgotten. God bless them, their families, New York, Washington, Pennsylvannia and most of all GOD BLESS AMERICA!
09-11-2006, 03:40 PM
Well said Dianne!
Best wishes for a good week all.
Have to run but will stop back later to catch up with everone.
09-15-2006, 02:38 PM
I just wanted to do a quick stop by and wish everyone a great weekend... this is the weekend that DS and I do our bike tour so I am really excited and scared at the same time... I have never done anything like this. :bike2:
Have a wonderful weekend and I will talk to everyone later on!
09-18-2006, 11:35 AM
Well the bike tour went really well, we had a great time. DS and I did the 10 mile course in an hour so we were really happy about that and talked about doing the 20 mile tour next year.
Hope all is well with everyone... must be a busy time for folks.
09-19-2006, 09:53 AM
Hello? Hello? Is anyone here?
Did someone move this thread and not tell me :D
I imagine that everyone is busy and hope that everyone is doing great!
09-19-2006, 10:27 AM
Hi all. I have got to get back into things. I am letting everything go by the wayside. I clean and read. That is all. I can't avoid the computer. I am out of my habit of coming down here. I miss y'all.
That tour sounds awesome. I would love that.
Great job. Good luck with the challenge. We can do it. :carrot:
Our garage is almost done. Now Bruce and the boys will paint it. We are putting a freezer in it. Can't wait. Need the room.
Great loss. :carrot: I am glad they took the polyp out. Hope your back feels better. Glad you are committed to walking.
I can't believe that they play that language in public. That is awful.
When I saw Nicleback at the Steeler celebration (family event) they used those words while greeting everyone and there was one song that they do that talks about a girl doing something sexual for the boy (Use your imagination  ). I was so happy to see Bon Jovi.
I love basil pesto. My favborite dish at Nothing but Noodles is basil pesto.
How are your kids and grandkids? How are the newlyweds?
My boys are busy with band. Busy, busy!!!!! Brittany is still working hard and going to school. She put her meteorology book on the roof of her car and drove off and lost it. One of our weatherguys from our CBS affiliate is her
teacher and he may get the same book for her from the head meteorologist if he'll give it up.
That is great that they are close. Best of both worlds is right. You will have a blast with her so close.
Great first week loss. :carrot: Hope you are feeling better.
I am not feeling to great today. I hate this sinus stuff.
09-19-2006, 10:31 PM
What a wonderful accomplishment for you....10 miles!!! :cp: Now that's using activity points! lol Seriously, I'm proud of you, keep it up.
As far as things being so quiet around here....and I can only speak for myself...when I'm not On Program, am floundering, or just plain being a deadbeat in terms of dieting, I tend to visit here every day and read posts, but don't add anything. It's so much easier than facing up to falling off the wagon!
Hope you're feeling better. It seems to be going around.
And I hope Britts gets a new book!
Everyone's fine. Matt is enjoying 1st grade, Brandon is in 4th. Joey and Ili are well. She hosted a baby shower for her daughter Valerie, who's due in mid-October. She's 22..single...lives with baby's father...works two jobs. Lots of growing up to do, but I think she'll be okay with baby. What can you do?
My friend Donna has gone to Iowa :(.
Friday was her last day :( Her husband, Chris, retired from the Navy the week before (he put in 20 years and is 39). Joe and I were invited to the ceremony at Great Lakes Naval Station. A very impressive day. He was the only honoree....great speeches, letters from Pres. Bush, former Presidents Bush and Clinton...good food, rooms overnight, a fun time, actually!
Then a huge goodbye celebration at work...with drinks out with a large group of co-workers afterwards which our boss (Director of Finance) picked up the tab for...then Donna and Chris came back to our house to spend the night. Lots of tears, fun, and drinks  I miss her already.
Soooo.....have to get seriously back on track. I cannot even begin to describe the damage I've done since the wedding in May. :o Suffice to say I've got to lose at least 10 pounds to get back there!!!
HI to everyone. Joe's picking up his brother, Dave, from O'Hare airport tonight; he's coming in from the Gulf of Mexico, where he's been working on oil rigs. He'll be here for possibly a week, don't know yet  It never ends!......
09-20-2006, 10:29 AM
Jen: I understand, I really do, I have fallen off of the wagon so much over my lifetime that I think my behind has gotten used to it and does not even bother with the calluses anymore :D. What ever you do don't beat yourself up about it... it just makes it worse... just climb back on the wagon as soon as you are ready and get started again. Water under the bridge - water off a ducks back - don't cry over spilt milk... and all that rot! You are a busy gal and that is just the way your life is right now... loosing your best friend has just got to be so hard... I went thru it when I moved to the mid-west, I left all of them behind and have never really replaced them... I kind of form friendships in a different way now... kind of my like I don't want to get too close for fear I will have to say goodbye again but I do have some gal pals and we do girl stuff from time to time but never like my old friends from out east... I feel for you and your friend, I truly do.
Terri: Maybe you could loan me Bruce and the boys for a weekend cause my garage is a nightmare :D that only a bunch of handy fellows can do anything about... So glad you got yours done! I hope you are feeling better... Jen is right, something is really going around... we have some folks out this way that sound like they are in the middle of the flu season but all the doctors are saying that it is either allergies or a cold... take care of yourself.
It is so good to hear from you gals... I was getting really worried there for a while.
All: Hope all is well with you and your families... chime in once and a while even if you have fallen off of plan or what ever the case may be.
Have a happy day all!
09-20-2006, 06:52 PM
You are so right....I'm not really that down about the weight situation...just another "Here I go again" thing. Everyone here knows that I consider myself the Queen of Fresh Starts...and I'm very very good at them  Besides, it's when we give up and don't try that we have to worry, right?
That being said...I'm going back to rejoin WW on Monday. I miss it! And I'm ready to journal, plan, etc....I figure I can make a great deal of progress and be in a positive place by the time the holidays arrive, so I can get thru those with a maintain rather than a gain.
You've been so supportive and I truly appreciate that, Susan.
It's cold here! We were down in the 40's last night, with temps of 40 being predicted again this evening. Joe's brother is already missing the temps of 80 that he just left in the Gulf
HI to everyone  Don't be strangers!
09-20-2006, 10:07 PM
That is great about the boys. Getting so big.
Good luck to Valerie. Keep us posted. Sorry about your friend. That is so hard.
I feel a lot better. Dang sinuses. It feels so good to not be embarrassed by
the garage again.
I will talk more tomorrow I am watching the Biggest Loser.
Hope you are doing well.
09-21-2006, 09:35 AM
Terri: I watched that last night also!!! Seems like it is going to be pretty good this time around. I was so happy that they picked someone from Indiana for one of the teams... I guess I will root for her but it is too early to say for sure. The one lady surprised me with her screaming thing that she did at the end... I think we will be hearing more from her in the future :D
Jen: Thats right! Never give up and never surrender! Never Never Never :tantrum:. That is great news about going back to WW... I really enjoy the meetings and look forward to the W/I's... even when I don't think that I have done so well I still look forward to seeing what their scale says since my scale at home lie's :p
Well have a happy day all!
09-22-2006, 10:09 AM
Oh it is rainy and chilly here but I don't care cause it is Friday:dancer: and I am really ready for Friday this week... as always lol but really ready this week!
Hope everyone is doing well... I am very excited about W/I tomorrow... if my home scale is correct, and I pray for once it is, that I may have lost enough to hit my half way mark!!! I am so happy about that... I finally feel like it is starting to pay off.
Well best wishes for an awesome weekend and I will check back in later on.
09-23-2006, 09:16 AM
good luck at weigh in! :crossed:
Ahhh....Saturday morning....and nothing planned for the weekend! What is everyone else doing? The only thing I'm committed to doing is watching my Bears WIN tomorrow!
Will be back later,
09-24-2006, 09:08 AM
Hello my friends:wave:
I've been busy looking for a 2 bedroom apt. David decided to stay with us for at least 2 years. I missed you all.
Jen, sorry to hear about your friend. I know you'll get back on track.;) I wish we had cool weather. It's still very humid. I'm ready for the Fall.
Princess, hope you had a good weigh in.
Terri, hope your sinus infection is gone. Was it an infection?
My back has been bothering me alot lately. I don't know what else to do. My Dr. is only in on Tuesdays. I'm going to give him a call. I go for an injection 10/26.
We're still doing WW at Work. I haven't lost anymore. 5 lbs. in 6 weeks is very slow but I haven't been journaling so I can understand why.
I'll try to be back later or tomorrow.
Have a nice day.
09-24-2006, 03:00 PM
Alabama got in the Biggest Loser also. I am with her so far.
I didn't like that Heather screaming either. No sense in that.
Hope your weigh-in went well.
Hope your back gets better. Mine always hurts in the morning for about 2 hrs. Very annoying. I am not sure if it was an infection or not. It does feel better though.
That will be cool having David there huh? I wish Britts could stay with us forever. So far I want the boys to too but we'll see.
Bruce and Bradley went camping (steady downpour of rain). Brandon went to the Big Spring Jam (steady downpour of rain) he paid $25 to get in and then the skies opened up and they cancelled the rest of the night. They wanted to see The Wailers. I am glad I made him spend his own money cause I told him not to go cause it was going to rain. He thought he'd take the chance. Him and his friends had fun.
We had a sad week this week. A 17 yr. old boy from our high school committed suicide. He was clinically depressed and was being watched. His brother and sister are in my boy's bands. His mom and dad came to the games (middle and high schools) to see their other kids but they looked tired. They were trying to be there for them. They had a rough coule of years with Stephen.
I hope everyone has a good week.
09-25-2006, 12:08 PM
Terri: That is just a really tough thing for a family, school, community to handle... the fact that a teenager can be so depressed as to take their own life... it takes my breath away. Prayers go out... that is about all we can do.
Es: Glad you are back but so sorry to hear about your back pain! That is just rough to handle... I really hope that it gets better for you. Best wishes on finding a great apartment!
Jen: Did the Bears win? I don't follow sports so much... I am the only one in my house that doesn't and I know when the Colts are doing well (DS's) and when Cinci is doing well (DH) but that is about it.
Well I went to W/I Saturday morning and lost 3.2... brings my grand total to 32.2... missed hitting the half way mark but I did hit my goal for September so that is good.
Have to run but will check back in later on.
09-25-2006, 09:17 PM
WHOO HOO :carrot: Great loss! You're doing it! :cp:
Your stats are great. I'm glad the bike riding helped. You continue to inspire me.
That is so sad about Stephen; my heart goes out to his family. I hope they can heal and remember him with love.
Depression is still a mystery to many. We lost my older brother, Rob, to suicide in 1994; he was 45 and a newlywed. I'll never forget the feeling.
The camping sounds WET! They should have listened to Mom
I'm so sorry to hear your back is acting up.
5 pounds is awesome! :cb: Keep up the work. I know how well I do when I journal. It's a necessary evil, isn't it?
Are you happy about David staying with you? I'd love it. They're all gone too quickly.
We no longer have a house guest; Joe's brother is heading to O'Hare airport as we speak to catch a plane home to Seattle. Their (his and Joe's) mother is in the hospital; not doing well, complications of diabetes, age 81...a very long story. Joe is not close with his mother; rather, my family has made him one of us. It had been difficult for me to understand the dynamics of his family. Suffice to say that after 35 years I finally understand it and am okay with Joe's decisions to absent himself from them.
I joined Weight Watchers after work :dancer: Signed up online for the monthly pass...they couldn't have made it easier. I went to the Monday meeting after work. The leader was perky, but not overly so. She had a good outlook, so I'm looking forward to see what she has to offer.
Of course, I know it's me doing the program, not her...so....here's to yet ANOTHER Fresh Start! I feel positive about this.
Lost 32 pounds last year and have gained back 12 :yikes: so it was definitely time to nip it in the bud!!!!!
luv you all,
09-26-2006, 12:18 PM
WOW! Great loss! You are doing great! :carrot: :carrot:
You kept 20 off though. Good job at keeping the 20 off. You go!!!! You will do it. You know what... This situation with Joe's family reminded me of what I was telling Bruce the other day. I said that I was not getting any younger and I refuse to put myself in the company of people that make me feel bad, you know the kind that don't acknowledge anything that you say and have to constantly talk about themselves etc... Like my sil, aunt, and first cousins
also a couple of parents of my kid's friends. I refuse to have any guilt if I don't call or visit. Too many years of feeling bad. No more. I know Joe's situation is probably worse than that but it just isn't worth our sanity to
put ourselves in that company. Your family sounds wonderful.
09-27-2006, 10:31 AM
Jen: I agree with Terri.. you have kept the bulk of it off... that is a huge accomplishment! When I fall of the wagon I not only gain it all back but it brings friends and relatives with it when it comes back :D . You are doing great!
Terri: Thanks for the kind words! I appreciate it. How is everything going for you this week?
Es: How is the apartment hunting going? Find anything yet? You are doing great by the way... a loss is a loss... even if it is slow... that is what I keep telling myself anyway :D
Have to run but will check back in again later on!
09-28-2006, 07:29 AM
Day 3 and it's all about fiber! I forgot about that adjustment in the beginning.
Yesterday was Brandon's birthday, he's 11. I cannot believe I've got a grandson that old ! We're having party for him here on Saturday, with probably about 20 guests. I'm serving Italian beef sandwiches and tossed salad, in order to keep it points friendly for me. I didn't want a challenge on my first week.
HI  Terri, Dianne, Es, Sandy, Susan, Zoe
09-28-2006, 07:38 AM
I miss being here with you guys!!! I am trying to catch up with how you are all doing and I hope over the weekend to get up to speed again and really be part of the group.
This past month has been crazy. The job that I took has some real seasonal bumps. It is a state college and we have a huge continuing education department. I have to hire all of the temporary faculty every term and the fall is the busiest time. I had to process over 400 contracts. Most of them come to me ready to input into the computer, but there are stragglers, new hires that I have to chase down personally to complete their paperwork. The good news is that it is finally letting up. I have been working overtime all month and still will a little bit during October, but now I finally have time to take a breath and say HI!!
We brought Greg back to college on Sep. 4th and Mike started his new job on Sep. 5th. I don't know if I mentioned that he is developing software for those online casino games. It is weird to have him come home talking about designing a new slot machine.
I need to get ready for work, but I just had to at least say hi for now.
Big hugs to Es, Jen, Diane, Terri, Susan and Zoe, and anyone I missed!
09-28-2006, 06:01 PM
:hb: :woo: :gift: :balloons: to Brandon. That is so hard to believe and I never even met him. They are growing up fast.
Great plan for the party.
Impressive. Your job is halfway done. You have a successful businessman and now Greg is on his way. Great job.
Hi Susan, Es, Dianne and Zoe
09-29-2006, 11:35 AM
Hi All I am new to this site. I started WW meetings on the 28th of Aug. I have lost 6 lbs I love WW I know it works because I did it before, lost 39 lbs, then I got off gained all that back plus 7 more ): This time it is for Life! I just need to not want it "right now" thanks for letting me stop in. Have a Great day
09-29-2006, 03:06 PM
Hello all! Just a fast stop by here to wish everyone a great weekend!
09-30-2006, 11:33 PM
Hi dunwthfat. WELCOME! Keep up the great work.
I am Terri and this group is wonderful!
Hope y'all are having a great weekend.
10-01-2006, 07:52 PM
Well, we survived Brandon's birthday party....but just barely  too much fun, and I know it will show on the scale at my first weigh in tomorrow.
We had a blast. Everyone ended up dancing in our living room, which is SMALL. The kids loved it; we did the Hokey Pokey, the Macarena, Chicken Dance, the Limbo (not me!). Didn't get to bed till 2 a.m....so needless to say Joe and I are vegging today.
It was great to hear from you. You've had a busy autumn at work! Mike's job sounds interesting; how does he like it?
Hi  to everyone.
10-02-2006, 12:09 PM
Not much new here but I wanted to stop by and say hello.
Jen: Sounds like you had a great time at the party! I would not worry about the W/I...
10-02-2006, 10:37 PM
Weigh-in results: maintain ...
Not great but that's ok.
10-02-2006, 11:04 PM
Wow, so many posts - congrats to all the losers and to those struggling, keep on keeping on! :bravo:
Its been a busy couple of weeks with the bridal shower goings on. Yesteday was the shower and it was great. Alana and Sal got tons of gifts - unbelievable. The restaurant was great, private room all to ourselves - decorations came out really nice with roses on the table, and the rose petals with Sal and Alana's name on them - really beautiful. They are so happy. It was funny- there were about 3 vans and 2 cars filled with stuff - some went to Sal's, some to his parents and some in our living room! But it turned out great. Today Alana and I made out the wedding invitations and they've just been mailed - so everything is under control right now. Oh, and I almost forgot - I got my gown!!! Yay! Its champayne and its really pretty. I got it at David's bridal. If you go on the site and click on bridesmaids dresses, then click on the color box for champagne - it will show you the dresses, its on the 3rd page and the style number is F11606 - only mine is not strapless, there are thin spagetti straps on it. Let me know what you think if you find it.
:hb: :balloons: to Brandon, Jen! Sorry I missed it.
Hi to everyone and welcome to Dun :welcome: :welcome:
Will talk to you soon.
10-03-2006, 08:22 AM
Your dress is gorgeous! I especially like the beading and the gather/cascade of fabric in front. Glad the shower went well. It sounds as though they'll be writing lots of thank you cards
10-04-2006, 09:19 AM
Hello my friends
I'm so sorry that I seemed to disappear for a few weeks. I have been out of town about 10 days out of the last 21 so life is crazy. I think I'm just going to be able to settle down now....wedding is over, work is slowing (no business trips till March) and Jenna, Jimi and Rylea will be moving into their new home this coming weekend. (I keep telling them that I hope they love their new house and they can visit Rylea anytime they want. )
Anyway, these things out of the way, come Monday (and I'm not working Monday) I should be back to the "old me".....the "old routine"......keep your fingers crossed cuz I'm counting on it.
I lost a few pounds.....can't remember the number (see my sig at the bottom which is accurate since my last visit here.....even *I* have to look at that....haha) and I'm still "on a roll"......I will read all the posts this weekend and catch up on everyone.
Have a great Wednesday. Talk to you's this weekend.
10-04-2006, 02:28 PM
Jen - that gather/cascade thingy was what really sold me on the dress, lol. Glad you like it. The shoes are closed toe with the same beading on the dress on the front of the shoes.
Alana's thank you cards are already mailed and people should be receiving them today - am I a good mom or what? I taught my girl right! lololol
Talk to you all later,
10-05-2006, 09:56 AM
So glad that most everyone is back... it was getting a bit quiet around here...
Dianne: The dress is fabulous! And yes you are a great mom... Sometimes I think that thank you notes are a thing of the past and that is a scary thought.
Zoe: Welcome back! Good job on the weight lose!
Jen: How are you doing this week?
Terri: What is new in your neck of the woods?
Sandy: How are things with you?
Have to run but have a great day all!
10-05-2006, 08:52 PM
thanks for asking, I'm having a great week thus far...plenty of veggies, water, lots of flex points banked.
Getting thru the weekend always freaks me out; I'm thinking of running in for a Saturday morning meeting to get that extra support to keep me on track. We'll see.
I've been using the E-Tools online which is free since I purchased the new monthly pass. I love not having to write everything down!!!
SURVIVOR in a few minutes!!!
see you later,
10-08-2006, 06:20 PM
I'm a 49-er looking to get in shape before I hit 50. I need to lose about 20 pounds and get more consistent with exercise to do that. [gosh--it sounds so easy on paper, doesn't it?]
Besides the general goal to get fit by 50, my husband and I are in the process of adopting a baby. THAT is going to take some stamina!!--I have enought time to make this goal before he comes, but gotta get to work ASAP..
That said, thought I'd say hi and meet some new buddies!
10-09-2006, 11:06 PM
:welcome: :welcome: :welcome: Ipa. I'm sorry but I have to ask - is that your photo with the doggie? If so, I think you look terrific! You're right though it does look easy on paper. Anyway, I'm Dianne, a lifetime ww member who lost 30 lbs quite a while ago and then put almost all back on. Right now, I'm down 10 lbs and have 5 more to go for my goal to lose 15 lbs for my daughter's wedding in December.
This is a great group of women and we're more like friends after about 6-7 years together. You'll like it here.
Hi everyone  - talk to you soon - just wanted to welcome Ipa.
10-10-2006, 08:50 AM
Thanks for the welcome. No--that avatar is what I WANT to look like again someday, but I do have 5 little doggies [who are Waaay too self-important to allow themselves to be slung over my hip--they like to be out front when we walk!]
So last night was a slip up--goodies in the break room and a stressful night and my Evil Twin pounced on a 4 pound bagel and ate the whole thing--with cream cheese. But today is another day. At least I learned that I do dumb things like that when I'm alone in the break room. I'm well behaved when there are people around. ;)
10-10-2006, 12:30 PM
Ipa: Welcome... I am a fellow dog lover also... I have three mutts that are of the larger variety but they are well loved and would never take to being attached to my hip unless there were treats involved and they actually have more treat jars on the kitchen counter then the family does so that tells you something :D. I am with you, I behave better in public and it would be really hard to resist a 3 lb bagel with cream cheese
All: On track this week but missed work out on Saturday so I have to work extra hard tonight... W/I went badly on Saturday so I have had to take a really hard look at what I am doing wrong... I think I just need to go back to the basics and stick to plan, both food and exercise.
Hope all is well with everyone... have a happy day!
10-11-2006, 03:00 PM
Yay for Support Boards!:
I walked into a Bake Fest at work yesterday!! But I was psyched up from our board here and resisted: Donut holes, 3 varieties, Glazed apple fritters, and S'mores. Really glad I was SO busy I didn't actually eat for 8 hours--got home and just had a cup of lima beans and went to bed.
!!!Was that ME???? :D
The morning weigh in --at home--looked great and now I'm psyched to stay on plan today too.
10-11-2006, 03:52 PM
Good job Ipa!!!!
Rainy and gloomy here today, in the 80's this past weekend and supposed to have flurries tomorrow... crazy weather!
Have to run!
10-12-2006, 01:28 PM
Hi everyone
I am finding it very difficult to get online lately….not computer problems, just ME problems. L My life, all of a sudden, has become busier than it was before Jenna’s wedding. How is that ??? :?:
Anyway, everyday I think “gosh, I need to get on there and post” and every night I go to bed and think “gosh, I never got online to say hi”. <sigh> A viscous cycle.
So, I am going to have to take some time and read all your posts, see what’s been going on and how everyone is doing.
Dianne ~ I have been thinking about you and the wedding. How are you holding up? It’s one of those things that is so much fun but so stressful at the same time. Crazy, huh?
So, my weight loss has been good. I’ve lost about 10 lbs now and have about 30 to go. I’m determined this time. I have to be honest, I’m not counting points but I know you’s guys won’t kick me out of here because of that…..right? :D
We had hardwood floors put in the master bedroom and hallway (dark cherry, it looks great!) last Monday and now we are having the carpet replaced in the downstairs living room, family room and dining room, as well as the stairs and gameroom upstairs. I’m so excited. We aren’t doing the 4 bedrooms upstairs. I’ll just have them cleaned and they’ll be fine.
I will try and read up here and post again over the weekend. I’m off on Monday and will be held up in my scrapbooking room while the guys lay carpet.

HI Everyone , I am not sure if I am doing this correct or not I have really never posted anything so please bare with me if i am not. I am about 50 pounds overweight and it has gotten me so down and I want so badly to do something about it. I just recently joined ww and recieved the material and to be honest I am lost . I dont know if I want to do the points or the other program.I honestly feel if I could loose those first 5 pounds that I would feel so motivated! I really dont have a buddy to do this with, I have ask a few people and they are not interested so I find myself coming here. I am 44 years old and I want so much to smile ....from the inside out...I want to dress pretty and be the me that I know is inside ....So, please if anyone can offer me any support or suggestions or just help me get started I would be so so appreciative ....I mean you can still be 44 and look 'good' cant you....
10-14-2006, 09:05 AM
Hello my friends,
I have a lot of catching up to do!
:welcome2: Sek. the answer to your question..you can look hot at 44. The 2 programs are great but my favorite is the Flex Points. The only thing that I haven't been doing is journaling. I try to keep track in my head but that's not working. You came to the right place. This is a fun group & very supportive. Hope to see that smile soon. :)
Zoe, I haven't been around for awhile. Like you I've been busy & by the time I have some time to myself I'm too tired to go online. Redecorating the house sounds so exciting. Maybe we can see some pictures when it's done. How's that cute granddaughter of yours?
Mi Amiga, the wedding is so close! December right?
We found a new place for rent. It's a town house. 2 bedrooms 2 baths. The move date is 10/27. It's a little further out on the Island but I love the suburbs so I'm excited. This is why I haven't been here lately. Sooooooooo busy:dizzy:
I have another busy day ahead of me but I will catch up & respond to all my buddies.
10-16-2006, 09:23 AM
Sek: I do the flex points system also and really like it... I think that once you get going you will feel so much better and you will start to see changes and that really is motivating... just start slow, go for small walks, pick your plan, etc and you will be on your way.
E's: Congrats on the new townhouse! Very cool!
Ipa: How are you doing?
Zoe: So good to hear from you and I know how busy everything gets so don't stress and post when you can.
Jenny and Dianne:How are you doing?
I will stop back later on.
10-18-2006, 08:57 PM
It's been quiet in here...many thanks to Susan, who always seems to pop in and greet us all.
Ipa, and Sek, welcome! This is the best group of women online, in my opinion!
Es, I absolutely do not envy you in having to move next week! Good luck and much happiness to you all in your new larger home! Don't overdo the packing, etc...take care of your back.
Zoe, good going on the 10 pounds! Counting points or not, that's an achievement :cp: The hardwood floors sound beautiful. I love cherry, it's what I've chosen for most of the rooms in my house in terms of furniture.
My weight loss efforts have waned. For some reason I just can't get back on track, and am going nowhere. Is anyone else feeling the same?
Work has been hectic, putting in a lot of hours due to having been downsized to a 2 person office. Isn't it amazing how big a part of our lives our jobs become? I'm really missing those 3 years I took off between jobs.
Hi to Dianne, Terri, Sandy, and anyone else I may have missed.
10-19-2006, 02:58 AM
Hi all! I am so sorry for being AWOL. I am going to catch up tomorrow.
10-19-2006, 12:24 PM
All: Well I had a very wonderful moment the other day. A lady that works in the office building next to ours happened to be in the bathroom at the same time as I was and when I came out of the stall she looked at me and said "wow! you are just shrinking away to nothing!" And when I said thank you she said "no! I really mean it and can not believe that I did not notice before, your face and everything is so much slimmer!" She then asked me what I have been doing and I told her WW and exercise along with a Pilates class and she said that I had inspired her to go back to WW and try it again. It all felt very good and really gave me a boost! One that I needed so it was a wonderful moment for me
Also! My boss is sending my husband and I to Hawaii for a week in April for my years of service and hanging on when most have left the company due to all of the troubles and such that it has gone thru over the last year. I am very excited and it has really given me something to work towards... I will never look awesome in a bathing suit and a bikini is out of the question but I would sure like to look nice, or at least not have everyone stare at my jelly legs and tummy... if that makes sense to anyone.
So it has been a good week so far and a very much needed break from the daily stress and grind.
I hope that everyone is well...
Jen: I know what you mean... I have struggle too lately, kind of feel like I have lost and gained back the same two pounds forever now but I just keep on plouding along... I hope it gets better for you... if you get back on plan and have a good week that would most likely get you going again.
I will stop by later on to see what is new with everyone
10-19-2006, 02:36 PM
Just now back from what I think was the flu and a crashed computer. Don't even know what I weigh. Back soon with a full report!
10-19-2006, 08:31 PM
:carrot: WOOHOO weekend is almost here.
Susan, what a nice compliment. Are you exercising everyday? You have a very generous boss! I want to lose 20 lbs. from now to April(my birthday). I need something to look forward to so I'm choosing my birthday.
Let me get some packing done. We move in 1 week! :yikes:
Hi Ipa, Terri, Dianne, Zoe, Jen, Sandy & Sek.
10-19-2006, 11:03 PM
What a great compliment from that lady! I'm sure you were smiling the rest of the day...and deservedly so. You've been very upbeat and positive since Day 1 of being on this board, and I admire that.
And the gift of a trip to Hawaii :yikes: how cool is that!?!
I imagine you're on top of the world right now, and you should be. I'm very happy that your tenacity and hard work has paid off for you, both professionally and personally. And...you will look awesome on that beach!
And thanks very much for the kind words re: my struggle. I know I just have to put one foot in front of the other.
How goes the packing? I abhor the very thought of ever doing so again. We've been in this house for 12 years. Now I don't think we'll ever leave. Definitely wouldn't want to pack it up. Joe is a packrat to the extreme, and I shudder to think of him having to pack up his garage/workshop
Hi to everyone. Dianne, how are the wedding plans progressing?
10-23-2006, 04:38 PM
Happy Monday all!
W/I was ok on Saturday, down .8, not what I wanted but I will take it. Went to the dentist today and I am feeling the pain as the meds have long worn off...
I will check back with you all tomorrow.
10-24-2006, 09:19 AM
Morning all, feeling a bit better this morning and I wanted to stop by and see how everyone is doing. It is so cold here! below freezing today and this is kind of early for Indianapolis to have below freezing temps. But mother nature has her ways I guess. We actually had a few snow flurries here yesterday...
I have to say that I just love my Pilates class! Has anyone else taken a pilates class yet? I really am enjoying it and will have to look for another one once this one ends... the one that I take now is sponsored by the school district so there is a long winter break when there are no classes offered... I will have to look around and see what there is available. The work out fits me to a T and I feel wonderful when I am done.
Well I hope that all is well with everyone. Have a happy day!
10-25-2006, 11:39 AM
Hola my buddies!
How is everyone doing? I haven't had a chance to read all the posts, but here goes:
Susan: Congrats on the wonderful compliment - I know how great you must have felt. And what a great boss you have - a trip to Hawaii?? Soooo !
Jen: Sorry to hear you've been stuggling, but I know that you will get back on track quickly. Keep thinking about those 30 lbs gone - what a great accomplishment, my friend.
Es, Amiga: Great news about the new townhouse - sounds wonderful. Will David be coming with you? Are you already moved in. Good luck!
Ipa: Sorry to hear you had the flu. Hope you are doing better now.
Sek: :welcome: :welcome: :welcome:!
ZoeGirl: How's it going? How's the beautiful Miss Rylea? Do you get to see her alot? I cracked up when you said something about your daugher and her husband being able to visit her (the baby) at your house, lololol!
Sandy: How are you? How is Mike doing at the new job? Hope he likes it.
How are the boys?
Hi Terri: How are things? How are the kids? And how is Britts doing with her new boyfriend?
Well, as you can imagine, I've been a bit busy with the wedding stuff. It is 5 weeks from this coming Saturday :yikes: I can't believe how calm Alana and Sal are - I need to take a page from their book - literally - its the bible! I think that's what's keeping them so cool, calm and collected. Alana and I went for her second fitting last week and that went well. She looks so beautiful! And that's without all the trimmings, hair done, jewelry, make-up, etc.
I can't imagine what its going to be like seeing her walk down the aisle - OMG, I'm really gonna have a hard time. And Willie, who acts like he'll be fine everytime Alana mentions him walking her down the aisle - well, the other night he was just staring into space and when I asked him what was wrong, he just said "I don't know how I'm gonna give her away", awww, I feel like crying right now, lol!!! Anyway, things are going on schedule, responses are coming in like crazy. So, we'll just keep on keeping on.
Willie and I have been going to the gym 3-4 days a week and I've lost 4 of the 5 lbs I wanted to lose for the wedding and with a little more than 5 weeks to go, I certainly think I'll lose that last one and hopefully maybe 1 or 2 more. I want to be able to actually breathe in my gown and maybe even eat and dance :p
Well, let me get back to work, justed wanted to catch up with you's guys. Have a great day everyone.
10-26-2006, 09:31 AM
Ok ladies, I need to ask a question cause I am dealing with something that is driving me crazy so I am hoping to get some advise or suggestions or just see if anyone else has dealt with the same thing... has anyone had to deal with their hair thinning? At first I thought it might be due to stress or the weight loss but I am not so sure anymore... I really do not have a ton of hair loss or balding in my family and none of the females that I can remember had any problems with it so I am just really not understanding what is going on.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
10-26-2006, 08:14 PM
I've got a bit of receding at my hairline, but I know it's heredity. Two of my brothers have balding. I'm luck in that I can cover it up with bangs!
Is it possible you're not including enough fat in your daily meals? My sister-in-law was taking Xenical for weight loss some years back (which flushes fat from your body) and began to experience hair loss. It was from not enough fat in her daily diet. Could be worth a look. Let us know.
What an exciting time for the family! I loved every minute of it. Got tears in my eyes when I read what Willie said. It will be a bittersweet moment for him, as well as for you. Good thing Alana is calm, cool and collected! Shows she's made the right choice.
HI  to everyone.
10-26-2006, 09:49 PM
This is turning into a "Plateau Month". And that's yucky. I've decided to go on A STREAK! :flame:
These last five days of October, I'm gonna go all out. My goal is to be ONE @#$%&** lousy POUND down from where I am right now by Nov. 1.
That makes my itty teeny goal to be 141.5 pounds by next Tuesday. C'mon , self! You can DO it!!!
Right you guys???;)
Ipa [Who weighed 142.5 lb this morning]
10-27-2006, 09:43 AM
Jenny: Thanks for the info... I am due for my yearly check up on Wednesday and I will be talking to my doctor about it also. I really think that I get enough fat and protein along with calcium. I take lots of supplements also. I am going to review everything with my doctor and see what she has to say... I am just beside myself right now about the whole thing and the more I read the more upset I get.
Ipa: Best wishes and yes you can do it... drink lots of water and you will be fine :D .
10-27-2006, 10:05 PM
Still sticking to my STREAK! Being kinda radical about it, but I'm in that kind of mood. Down to 140 this morning ...so I made the 1 LOUSY POUND goal, but can I hold the line?
I WANT to be under 140 SO BAAAAD by Halloween!!!!
10-29-2006, 07:05 PM
Jumping in to say HI to everyone.
Have been up since 6, well, 5 after changing the clocks, and I love this day when we change the clocks! It's such a looong Sunday.
Last night we went to Joey and Iliana's for their 1st Annual Halloween Party. It was so much fun. I was a witch, Joe went as a brain donor, with a brain in a jar labelled "Abbe Normal" (from Young Frankenstein) Lots of great costumes, the boys were there as well so we got our grandson fix.
We're heading outside to have a fire in the chimenea. It's been an absolutely GORGEOUS day, sunny and crisp.
AND my Bears whooped butt! We are 7 and 0! :cb: :dancer: It's a fun season.
Have a great week,
10-31-2006, 01:42 PM
I just wanted to stop by and see how everyone is doing... W/I did not go so well this Saturday but since it is that TOM for me I did not expect it to but I always hate to see a gain no matter what the reason.
Going to the doctor tomorrow for my yearly and my mamogram and I am very eager to talk to her about some very strange things that have been going on with my body lately... You know, they really should give us a users manual for our bodies when they pass them out to us... because who knew that your body could turn into a completely foreign object once we hit middle age? Argh! Frustrated and ready for some answers... I swear if she tells me that I am still too young to be going thru Menopause I will just scream! It has to be that... I could not imagine what else would cause the things that I have been seeing lately... if it isn't menopause then I want to change this body in for another once cause mine is defective :tantrum:
Ok, I feel better now so anyway... how is everyone else doing? :D
11-02-2006, 11:48 AM
Good Morning everyone
yes, I've been MIA again. Between work and home (and Miss Rylea, of course), I have had a whirl wind October.
I'm home today, sick so this will be short. I have an upper respiratory infection AND strep! Gee, how nice.
I've lost another 3.7 lbs since my last post so I'm down 15 lbs now. Woo Hoo! Only 24 more to my goal. Congrats to all of you BIG LOSERS. I see some of you are doing great.
I can't address everyone today.....gotta lay my head down. I just wanted to stop in so you's didn't think I went "poof" again. :)
Have a great Thursday and I will post my next loss on Saturday's WI. (I'm so optomistic, huh? )
11-03-2006, 09:38 AM
Zoe: Congrats! Your weight loss is wonderful!
Well the doctor was not much help and basically refered me to a dermatologist and ordered some blood work. Oh well... I would scream about it but I am just too worn out right now.
I will check back later on when I am feeling better but have a great weekend all!
11-03-2006, 06:52 PM
Whoo hoo :cb: good going on the loss! Hope that you feel better soon.
It is frustrating when you feel you'll get answers from the dr., only to have to go thru more waiting. Have a good weekend, hang in there
How did the move go? I've missed you! :(
Have been under the weather here as well. Took yesterday off work, went to the dr. today. Have a sinus infection accompanied by really severe headaches. The dr. explained that there's no such thing as a sinus headache, but rather they are migraines caused by sinus blockage. Who knew? As long as they go away I don't care what they're called.
Jess, Michael and the boys will visit this weekend and spend the night tomorrow until Sunday. Joe and I will get our grandson fix  Jess and I are going shopping tomorrow just for fun, I can't wait ! $$$
HI  Terri, Dianne (wedding is NEXT month! EEK) Sandy (how are you?) and anyone else I may have unintentionally missed.
have a great weekend... GO BEARS!!!
11-04-2006, 09:20 AM
I think I have become a champ at going poof! I missed everyone.
Things have been fine but free time seems nonexistent. My job has required overtime for 2 reasons.
1) when we are busy at the beginning of the term and
2) in order to earn comp time for the Christmas week shutdown.
I only get 2 weeks vacation a year and I did not want to use 4 days of it for Christmas week or to take it without pay. So even if we are not busy I have to work extra hours to earn comp time. I am almost there, just 1 hour to go and I can leave work on time again. :carrot:
I am planning to start back to the gym and WW now that I can think straight again. I hope that it will last!
Mike likes his job, it seems to be a fun application for his talents, the people are basically a lot younger and like to party a lot. The company appears to be growing too, as they have hired a number of people since he came on board.
Dave quit his job in medical records in August and has been a waiter at the Macaroni Grill since then. I think he is having more fun and earns about 50% more as a waiter. He is also continuing to do the Improv and sketch writing, he is currently taking an acting class too.
Greg has dropped the acting, he went into the honors college at UMass and is studying political science and history. He is stressed right now with a really demanding workload, but I think he is hanging in there.
Hi Susan, I expect that perimenopause might be what is going on. It is such a long process before actual menopause, I had lots of mysterious stuff in my 40's before I was done. It feels like a second adolescence sometimes. Read up about it, but work with your doctor too. Take care of yourself!
Jen and Zoe, Hope you both get well really quickly, I have been battling a cold and sinus trouble for the past 2 weeks.
Dianne, lots of excitement for the wedding, it sounds as if everyone knows how to celebrate and enjoy. I love hearing about it.
Es, Good luck with your move, tell us about the new place when you get to take a breath again.
Hi Terri, and welcome Ipa!
11-04-2006, 12:04 PM
I'm so excited.....for the first time in probably a YEAR, I am sticking to it and staying OP. At my WI this morning, I lost another 2.8 lbs for a grand total of 18!! (well, according to my little scale thingy on my signature it's 18 but it's really 17.8) I've done this in 7 weeks. Now, a few years ago, I could have done 18 pounds in a month, easy.....but I've hit the big 5-0 so I'm thinking this is as good as it will get......and I'm HAPPY! :carrot:
Sandy and Susan ~ Speaking about menopause and PRE-menopause, I thought I was actally HOME FREE....no more TOM....once in January of this year and then again in April.....woo hoo....I'm free, I'm free....then, September 18th, WHAM!! :?: :( :?: Anyway.....I have absolutely NO symptoms, no problems.....it just won't go away.
Jen ~ The move went smooth and now Miss Rylea is in her own home. Ok, so her momma and daddy didn't think my idea was a good one....them visiting her here whenever they wanted. She is in daycare and I can "see" her any time I want because they have video cameras and we have a login to watch. I love watching her. :) Oh, have a GREAT visit and get all you can of that "grandson fix". :D
Dianne ~ How's those wedding plans going? I feel for ya. It's such a job, most especially at the point you're at.....always something to do, something NOT to forget...but no matter what, it will be great and she will be beautiful. And as you may have read above, they didn't go for the "visit her anytime you want" deal.
Ipa, Dunwthfat, and Sek :welcome: :welcome3: :welcome: Sorry I didn't welcome you sooner. I tend to get busy here. Hope you're loving our group.
Well, gotta run.....I have so much to do with a few swaps (scrapbooking). I am in a few Yahoo groups as well as an owner on one.....they keep me hoping but I love it. :D
 Terri and Es (hope I didn't miss anyone)
have a great Saturday
11-05-2006, 07:50 PM
The move was hectic but we're in.:carrot: My big screen TV got messed up but I guess things could've been worse. It's replaceable.
I missed you guys. Zoe, way to go with your loss!!!!!!!!!!:congrat: That is so cool that you can see Rylea on video. Good luck with your scrapbooks. You're really good at it.
Sandy, glad to hear Mike likes his job & all is well with the boys. Focusing on WW & exercising will make you feel great. Here's to you my friend.:bravo:
Jen, I hope you're feeling better. Nice that Jess, Mike & the boys spent the weekend. I know how much you love having them.
Amiga, :yikes: the wedding is so close. What you said about Willie... Thank God Alana is calm.
Hi Terri & Britt:wave: Hi Susan & Ipa.
Have to get back to unpacking some boxes. Be back soon.
11-08-2006, 02:01 PM
Just checking in to see how everyone is doing. Nothing new here... my weight loss has stalled and since I am not med's it will be stalled until get off of them sometime next week.
How is everyone else doing?
11-10-2006, 03:34 PM
Just joined WW Tuesday and wanted to say hello :)
11-11-2006, 09:57 AM
Good Saturday morn' my friends,
How is everyone?
ZoeGirl: Way to go with the 18 lbs lost (let's not quibble over .2, lol). :bravo: Great job! That's cool about being able to see Rylea via camera - all nurseries should have that.
Amiga: So glad to hear you're all moved in - so how do you like it? Is David living with you also?
Jen: That party sounds like it was lots of fun - are your Bears still winnning? Like I know who the bears are:p I know, I know, football, right?
Don't want to sound too dumb, but what is a chimenea? Like an outside fireplace?
Susan: Sorry to hear you're going through all that mess - I agree with Sandy, sounds like you are peri-menopausal. I haven't had my period in over 2 years but so far haven't experienced anything too weird. But before it totally ended, I went through a time of not having it for 8 months and like ZoeGirl, thought it was gone and then it came back! Was not happy about that, but now its been 2 years so I don't think its coming back. Keep talking to your doctor.
Sandy: Good to hear from you. Your job sounds as hectic as mine. Glad to hear Mike's job sounds like a fit. The boys seem to be doing well too. Honors College, that's great. Good going with getting back with ww.
Hi Ipa, how are you doing, congrats on the "lousy one pound" - a lb is a lb is a lb;)
Vanessa: :welcome: :welcome:
Well, the wedding is 3 weeks from today and things are going well - we did hit a snag the other day. Willie went to see about his tux and there was a sign on the door of the place stating it was closed due to non payment of taxes! There was a guy there who's wedding is this Saturday, poor guy - his fiance was hysterical! All theguys in the bridal party had their tuxes there. Willie was very proactive - he called the tax place to ask what happens now? Anyway, Willie went to another place and they told him if everyone came in by 11/15, they could get everyone a tux. Turned out, the someone from the tax people called the very next day to say the store was reopened for business, so I guess they paid their taxes :yikes:
Other than that everything is fine. I'm feeling a little dazed, lol.
Weight wise, I lost the 5 lbs I wanted to lose. Added to the 7 lbs. labor day challenge, that's a total of 12 lbs lost. I'd still like to lose 1 or 2 more, before the wedding, but we haven't been to the gym all week so we'll see.
Well, gotta get going - this house is a mess. There's so much to do and so little time, but in the end, things usually work out, so I'm not too stressed about it.
Hope everyone has a great weekend! Talk to you's soon.

Amiga, I can't believe the wedding is 3 weeks away. I would've freaked out about the tuxes! Thank God it worked out. Good going on your loss:bravo: I knew you could do it. Our new place is beautiful. I wish I could show you some pictures. It's called Walden Pond. Well, actually you can see them online. We are way out there. On the LIE it's exit 69:yikes: David is living with us. He paid for the move. It was so expensive. It came out to $3500. This apt. is as big as a house so we have plenty of room.
Just popped in to say hi. I haven't been on program but now that we are settled in I can get back into it. I'm going to start exercising 4 times a week. They have a gym here. I can't start till Saturday because I'll be getting home late from work this week. They're sending me to one of our other offices to cover the phones because their receptionist is on vacation.
Have a blessed Sunday everyone.

well, W/I went really well on Saturday! I was down 3.8 and I have broken into the 180's.... very happy about that.
Sounds like everyone is busy and with the holiday's coming I guess it is going to be even busier for all of us. But I love this time of year so no complaints here.
Dianna, Zoe, and Sandy: Thanks for the advise... I really appreciate the infomation and it is always nice to know that I am not the only one going thru something... no matter how inevitable it all is for us it can be scary and strange when you are going thru it.
All: How was everyones weekend?
I have to run but will stop back soon!

Well I think that it is official... winter is coming :D it is cold and gloomy here... not much sun but lots of clouds and cold rains...
Hard to believe that Thanksgiving is right around the corner with Christmas coming up right behind it!!! Oh boy... I always get nervous as it gets close... since I don't do my shopping way in advance... I start after Thanksgiving and then work on it from there.
How is everyone doing today?
11-14-2006, 02:22 PM
Weather in VA is nice today. 65 and sunny but it is suppose to get cold fast and rainy starting tomorrow. I am with you that it is hard to believe that Thanksgiving is next week. Where did the year go?? Seems like the older I get the more time flies.
I don't do Christmas shopping. DH's kids aren't grateful about any thing we get them. They give their mom a list of things they want and she buys everything on that list. So I give them cash or a gift card. My kids are in MI and PA so I send them a check. We don't have any family other than the kids. I really don't like the holidays. Guess it is because we don't have family.

Yesterday I was writing out the meal for Thanksgiving so I knew what I needed to buy. Even thou it is just DH and I, I still like having a traditional meal. I figured out the points and I am looking at 21 points for the meal. Guess I am going to have eat light for breakfast and have dinner a bit earlier than usual. I haven't been worried about the day till now. I know I can use WP but I don't want to use them all. At the most I have only used 10 in a week.
Would like to hear what you plan on doing for TG?
11-14-2006, 04:24 PM
My personal goal for the Thanksgiving holiday is to weigh less then I do now... that is all, just less :D I am going to try and lose but if I set a goal I find that I struggle so this year I have not set one other then the "Less" part.
I am like you, I love to cook a traditional meal no matter how many will be there, I just plan accordingly. We are not having many over this year, just my mom and possibly DH mom along with our boys and anyone else that does not have a place to go... I am taking the Friday after off so am looking forward to a four day weekend.

I made a goal of lossing 8 pounds between Halloween and Thanksgiving. I have 3 pounds to go and only one more WI. (I don't do meetings but I still use Sunday as my WI day). I am after I am not going to make goal. No big deal if I don't. I will just keep going.

Es, is it Walden Pond at East Moriches? I went on line and it looks beautiful - right on the lake, wow. Very nice. Congrats and good luck with your new place.
Susan - :bravo: on your great loss, you must feel terrific to go down into a new number. Keep up (or down) the good work!
Chris - :welcome: :welcome:
Jen, ZoeGirl, Sandy, IPA, Terri, Vanessa - how are "you's" guys doing?
17 days to the Wedding! :yikes:

11-15-2006, 05:20 PM
Just checking in...
Dianne: Thank you very much.. yes the new number does feel really good!
All: how is everyone else doing today? It is gloomy and rainy here today... I am really ready for a sunny day or two and according to the weather man we are supposed to get some sun this weekend so I am looking forward to that.
Have to run but will check back in later on!
11-16-2006, 12:29 AM
Thanks for the welcomes.
It has been rainy here today too. Tomorrow is suppose to be worse than today. YUCK. I did manage to get on the treadmill today and feel good about what I did. Not as much as I would like but my fibromyalgia prevents that. I did 17 minutes today. I took last week off and have to back the time off this week.
Hope everyone is doing well.

Hi Chris. Welcome. If Blue Team is from Biggest Loser I am with you. I am mad at Erik for sending Marty home. Boy did he look good. 140 pounds gone. WOW!!!!!
Sorry I have been gone but our pc was being "reworked."
Next month!!!! WOW! Good luck and I know it will be beautiful.
Congrats on the move. I am going to look it up on the web in a little bit. Can't wait. How are your babies?
Great losses girl! Great compliment too. "Weigh" to go.
I have been going through perimenopause for about 3 years. I was 2 weeks late this month. I think it is actually starting to work toward menopause. They say when it has been 12 month of no TOM's it is officially menopause.
I started having heart palpitations, moodiness ans small patches of hot flashes. Nothing big. I am going to the gynochologist tomorrow. My mom was 42 when she was officially at menopause. Perimenopause started at 38 for her. I am 47 and started peri at 44. The average age is 51 to have menopause but it can happen anywhwere from early forties to usually 55.
Sounds like life is good. Your weight will start falling off. Remember, keeping what you lost off is also hard and if you are doing that you are doing great. That is a big part of this program.
Great loss. That is so cool that you can see your grandbaby on the web.
Do you just want to reach through there?
I love macaronu Grill. MMMmm! Shrimp Rustica is a favorite.
I am glad Mike likes his job. It helps a lot to like what you do.
We are just having ourselves for Thanksgiving. We go all out and then we go to a Christmas movie in the evening and then come home for pie.
I love that day. We always wake up with cinnamon rolls and watch the parade. Britts has slept in the last 4 years but announced that she will watch it with us this year. She said she is starting to realize the importance of tradition. I am making White castle stuffing on the side (saw it on The View), Bruce loves White Castles so why not?
Bruce might have Type 2 Diabetes. We will find out after Thanksgiving. He has been watching and taking his blood tests. He has recently (in the last 6 months) lost 28 pounds.
I will try to stay in touch. Love y'all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
11-16-2006, 01:36 PM
I was shocked to see Erik help to vote Marty off. Bob isn't going to be happy at all over this. I can understand why he did it. I really think Marty would be The Biggest Loser if he wasn't voted off. He looks so good now that he has lost 140 pounds (which is my ultimate goal). The kids in his class really looked up to him before TBL. I think he has taught them (as well as me) that you can do anything if you put your mind to it.
11-16-2006, 01:50 PM
I know i was shocked too..but he looks great..wow..
11-17-2006, 09:32 AM
How is Bruce feeling? I hope everything works out for him. I'm not surprised that Britts is becoming fond of traditions...she's a warm loving girl, it is a part of her.
Your Thanksgiving tradition is so cool. We have just us and the kids, then we veg and play board games. Jess and Michael do the crazy 3 a.m. shopping the next day and we spend the day with the boys.
I'm trying a new stuffing I saw on Rachel Ray, made from pumpkin muffins, apples, onion, celery, zucchini, sunflower seeds. Joe grew up with a fruit stuffing made with white bread, which I hate, so when we saw this new variation on her show, he was agreeable to try the change. I prefer the traditional sage stuffing that I grew up with. Every year we would "discuss" whose stuffing would go in the bird. One year we couldn't agree, so I roasted the turkey without stuffing and we loved it! Now I make two stuffings in baking dishes and we're all at peace
Two weeks ! Hope all is well. That certainly was a disaster turned good about the tuxes. Great job on the loss. You will be beautiful.
Chris and Vanessa,
Welcome! glad to see you here.
Are you settled in? Do you have a longer commute to work now?
Hope all is well with you. Getting the time off at the holidays will be nice.
I've been off on vacation all this week and WOW did it go by fast! My friend who moved to Iowa came in last weekend with her husband and stayed with us from Friday till Sunday. We had a great visit, as well as Michael's birthday here, which was the usual craziness.
A couple of days this week I went Christmas shopping; the boys' gifts are done, which is always the most fun.
Have done a lot of cooking and eating and stitching......the perfect week!
My goal is to maintain till New Year's. I've been too good to myself and have to face reality, as well as the scale!
HI  to anyone I may have missed.
11-17-2006, 09:32 AM
Happy Friday all!
So how is eveyrone doing today? I am very happy that Friday is here!
I have to run but will stop back later on.
11-17-2006, 09:55 AM
Hey everyone. I have been doing well. OP all week. Today may be a stressful day. My computer has been acting up for a while now. My cd drives haven't beem working. The computer is acting like it wants to crash. My best friend is coming over in a little bit to see if she can get the disc drives to work so we can backeverything up and re-format. I am so afraid something will happen and I won't be online for a while. I will let you all know later how it goes...if I can.
11-19-2006, 03:16 PM
I agree totally about Marty. Brittany (dd) was so upset that he got out.
I wish they just ousted the lowest body percentage loser instead of voting.
I think whoever works the hardest and gets the most results should stay in.
I guess they want the drama.
I did some shopping last week. It was fun. I bought lots of calendars.
They have them for everything. Bruce is doing the morning shopping thing this year on Friday. I don't like doing that. I remember my sister did that for me when the kids wanted "Bubbas".
11-20-2006, 12:05 PM
Well I had a great weigh in on Saturday... down another 2.4 lbs so that brings my total lost past the half way mark for me... very happy about that!
I am ready to get Thanksgiving over with... this is always a rough time of the year for me because I love to cook and bake so I have gone thru my recipes and have picked out some new ones to try this year to go along with the old ones...
Not sure if anyone here is a Bob Seger fan but DH and I went to his concert this weekend and it was the best show I have ever seen... He is still awesome and sounded great!
Have a happy day all!
11-21-2006, 05:57 AM
:cp: Whoo hoo! congrats on your loss, and upon reaching the 1/2 way mark! :cp: You're doing great :D
