Hi Ladies I figured I would go on ahead and start a September Thread. I know its been kinda quiet lately, but I hope we can get back into the "Groove" of things. ;)
So Join me, won't you????? My bday and my anniversary is the end of Sept. so its a very special month for me.....................
Good news.......................We joined the Y! :D Not only is it the largest in our area, it is the largest in the country! (no joke) By the time we got done from the tour, we felt like we already had a workout! lol.
They have everything there! Including, what I liked, an outside Nature Trail!!!! We got 10% off from work and they also had a special running as well.
We can have as many guests as we want and they only have to pay $6 or a discounted weekly rate. So we plan on taking fil up there.
I have an appt with my gyn. on Oct. 3rd. and an appt. with my family dr tomorrow. He is going to be ecstatic about us joining the Y! :carrot:
Um guess that is about it, I just wanted to share with you all!
I feel better already! :D :D :D

Welcome back Ladies! It has been a crazy summer. We are on a break from TTC until November or so. I know that sounds crazy but I need to pay attention to due dates because of the nature of my job.
On the weightloss front I saw very little movement this summer on the scale but can now fit into a 20 for most clothing and even fit into some size 18 pants the other day. So, I will take that.
I have been slacking on the exercise front though so Im sure that has a lot to do with it.
Sassy: Congrats on joining the Y! Hope that your dr's appointment went well.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Deb! WB! Hey that is great, any WL in my humble opinion is good. ;) I understand about taking a break, we've been on one for a while. Waiting til I see my dr in Oct. So we'll see what she has to say. I "fired" my RE. She was just plain nasty and I just couldn't stand going to see her and paying my hard earned money (well my co pay but still!). So I'm going to see my gyn. and see what she says.........
Emma -- Cool! We'll have to have a Big "Internet" Bday Party for us both!!!!:woo:

Hi all.. I'm new to IR boards although not new to fatchicks.com so I'd thought I would chime in.
This is a big September for me!! I'm getting married on the 24th and my birthday is the 28th! I'll be in DisneyWorld on my honeymoon for my birthday.
After almost a year of searching for help with weight loss, I saw a "weight loss specialist" last week who thinks I may be insulin resistance and suggested a low glycemic diet. Of course 3 weeks before my wedding isn't the best time to start a new way of eating but I'm trying to gather information and recipes to get started when we return..
Christine
Hi Deb, Sassy and Emma!
Christine congrats for your wedding!
I'm back from holidays, but no more weight lost! :( I hope I will be doing better from now on; my goal is still to weight no more than 57 kilos before 2007, but I must work hard if I want to reach my goal!
I also hope that my cycles will be more regular and predictable; after the adoption of my daughter I'm back to TTC: I have still a little hope for a miracle...

I've got a birthday coming up on the 27th. This is my fav time of year. It always reminded me of a new beginning, even more than Spring. I'm hoping to reinforce my resolve to drop those unwanted pounds.

Hi girls
I was wondering if its ok if i join you guys. I have been TTC for 2 years in October and had a M/C back in July 05 , since then i have put on a bit more weight than what i ever have been before and stopped ovulating completly. I was only diagnosed with PCOS in March this year and sent straight to see fertility Dr's who were useless and told me to lose weight so here i am.I have not been given any mediacation for the PCOS either so at the momnt i am doing it all on my own. I would love to be able to talk to you girls and share experiances , as sometimes i feel so alone until i come on to somewhere like this and i realise i am 1 in proberly thousands that are in exactly the same boat .
Thanks for reading my post in advance lol

Thanks for the warm welcome sassy , here in england the Dr you see is the Dr you get , cos we have a free service called the NHS you basiclly get what your given. Although i have no quarms in asking for another dr if the one i have now wont help me , whether i get another one is a different story.
Good luck to you all in your journeys and i look forward to chatting to you all more.
:carrot: Teresa :carrot:
Hi ladies!
Teresa: sorry for your loss! This doctor should do something more: you can use meds that help you to ovulate! If possible change him...
I'm here without big news; the scale is still there around 71/72 kilos...I'm trying to exercise almost everyday, walking with the baby for 30/60 min.
I did a blood test yesterday: fasting insuline is only 6.6, glucose 95...I'm now waiting to see my doctor, but these numbers are still indicative of IR in your opinion? I think they are not...So may be I'm not really IR and this is the reason for my strange reaction to metformine (I stopped ovulating and felt something like hot flashes in the morning...!).

Alba
You talking about IR , My dad was told about three months ago he was Diabetic after he was really sick , he'd had a urine infection , fever and just general unwell shaking etc. So his blood was tested , he was sent for scan on kidneys and it all indicated he was diabetic , so a few weeks back he was sent for a Glucose test where you drink the pint of gloucose well , when he got the results back it showed he didnt have diabeties at all in fact his blood sugar stays pretty low , before glucose test he was 7.7 and after the drink he was 5.5, so it shows you how wrong doctors can be in there diagnosis sometimes, but at least his feeling better now.

I am so p***ed off . not as much as yesterday but i still am. We got to the hostpital late yesterday for my scan due to a traffic divertion & road works which took us right around the houses so by time i got there my appointment had been cancelled and the next one they could give me was 10th january which means that i have to cancel my folow up fertiluity appointment in november as the fertility dr wont see you if you have any outstanding scans or bloods to be done , so now my follow up appointment is June 07 which as you can imagine i am fuming about , they did say i could ring up every 3 days for cacnellations so i guess i have some hope. On a posative note at least it gives me till june next year to lose more weight , and i may even start ovualting naturally once i have lost a bit of weight , i sure hope so. I am trying so hard not to get depressed about it all and im trying to think of the posatives but i really just wanna scream at the moment .

Just a little update for you gals.
My hubby rung up the hostpital regarding cancellations for the scan and bingo they had one for the 18th october 06 so then he checked for a fertility appointment and bingo again my old appointment was still there and hadnt been filled OMG i cant belive how lucky i am , so now i am back on track for November instead of June 07 , the only thorn in my side is whether i can get the HSG done in time. I thought all u gals that may have read above post would wanna know the good news.

Hi ladies. Mind if I join you? I'm 24, diagnosed with PCOS last year. I'm not currently on any medications, though I'm starting to wonder if I should be. Starting in March this year, I started regaining lots of weight and haven't been able to lose or stop gaining. I also have thyroid issues, so it's a double whammy.
Up until July we were TTC. Now it's on hold while I'm in school. We've been trying since last August. I have a lot to lose before we do conceive, but we're not actively trying to *not* conceive.

:welcome: Of course you may join us!!!!!!!! We try to have a new TTC and WL thread each month.
Sorry to hear about your health issues. Have you seen a dr? That would be my 1st suggestion, if you haven't done that already. My 2nd suggestion would be to read, read, read. Here, other online resources (Just Google PCOS), or go to your local library.
A very good book is "Taking Charge of your Fertility" By Toni Weschler, MPH. There are many others out there as well.
Pls feel free to ask any questions you may have, there are lots of people here who have been through it or have read up on it, so this is a great place for info!

Welcome Brandnewme and good luck on your weightloss and ttc , i wish you lots of luck. I am the same i have PCOS , ttc but have no ovulatation so im hoping the weight im losing will bring my ovulation back and we will fall , i did get pregnant before only to have a m/c early so i know it was possible before so hopefully again, i just have to get to a weight where it decides to kick start its self off if it does.
Take care and i hope you find 3fc as much of a support and help as we all do.

Thanks for the warm welcome ladies!
Sassy, I have been to the doctor. I was very briefly on yasmin, and synthroid, but neither of them seemed to work for my body. I went off the yasmin willingly, and was taken off the synthroid since my thyroid panel wasn't too terrible - they are going to keep an eye on it, and if it seems to be getting worse, they will try levoxyl.
I use the TCOYF computer program to track ovulation. I've not read the book, but it's on my list. The program has been great - between that and Fertility Friend, I've learned a lot!
Teresa, I'm sorry to hear about your m/c. I hope along with a successful weight loss, you'll also be able to conceive again! Best of luck to you.
Today has been a lazy day. I took the day off of work for a 'mental health day' which really only means that I'm tired of work and needed a chance to catch up on sleep and homework! For not being a morning person, I definitely tortured myself by signing up for morning classes. Every day, seven days a week, I have to be up between 5am and 6:30am for work. Yuck!

BRANDNEWME : Thanks for the message , I think its good that you are doing the morning classes though especially when your trying to lose weight as it gives you soemthing else to focus on , but i agree with you getting up that early would do me in too lol.
I did my weight this morning and i've lost another 2lbs so im now 281lbs , so i have finally hit the 10lb mark and got my first chicky wooohooo.
Good luck for the week girls.
