Is this ok to have on Phase I? :?:

Luigi's Real Italian Ice Lemon & Cherry flavors
No Sugar Added (made with Splenda)

Calories 70
Sodium 10g
Total Carbs 20g
Sugars 1g

Just wondering! Seems like it's ok to me...just takes a chunk out of my allowed calories for Sweet Treats....Thanks!

Could you post the ingredients rather than just the nutritional info, please. it may have sugar alcohols and other fillers.

I'm not sure what I'm supposed to look for in the ingredients...but here they are...

Water, Sorbitol, Maltodextrin, Cherry juice concentrate, Citric acid, Natural flavor, Guar and Xanthan Gums, FD & C Red #40, Sucralose, Acesulfame Potassium, and FD&C Blue #1.

I'm interested to know if this is OK too- I was eyeballing those at the grocery store last night :)

That's exactly what we need to take a boo at the ingredients! Thanks. I googled it but couldn't find it.

I'd avoid it for three reasons:
- Sorbitol and Maltodextrin are sugar alcohols and can cause intenstinal upset
- Cherry juice concentrate is a fruit and not allowed on Phase I. You are on Phase I?
- FD&C Blue #1 - what the heck is that? If I don't know what it is, I don't eat it.

The point of South BEach is to eliminate as many highly processed and artificial foods and eat as "clean" as possible.

Check out the Ziplock Ice Cream recipe under Phase I desserts.
