Good morning!!! Well..exactly the same again..Better than a gain I suppose..I guess that means to kick up the excercise this week!!!

RR I just realized you goal weight. How tall are you? I couldn't even fathom 120. LOL I totally agree...staying the same is way better than a gain. A friend of mine is also doing ww and she "only lost .8" I told her it's better than gaining .8! Good job RR!

Good Sunday morning to all the rest (I'm sure you'll be around later). Think thin thoughts. lol

Well I am proud of myself, I went shoping with a friend this afternoon and I have been craving ice cream, but didn't get any. It is hot and muggy here again! I will be glad when fall is here to stay, although that means winter is right around the corner. :p

Well time to try and do my exersize ball (without rolling off - it's quite funny).

Hey Lisa!! Hope U stayed on the ball!!!!

Mamabear--I am almost 5'1...120 is pretty much perfect for me..
Ok..off to bed!!!

RR, I did almost roll off one time, I am following a dvd and it is easier than the printed poster that came with the ball. With the poster I was almost constantly rolling off. I didnt get all the way through with the dvd, but that is my goal. Within 2 weeks I want to be able to do sessions 1 & 2 and start on session 3. I think that is do-able.

Hello to everyone else!

Well off to bed, morning comes really early for me. (I am more of a night person)

Hello all!
I had a good weekend, but I must confess that I used most of my 35 pt allowance this week -- my SIL's bday lunch today was great -- my MIL is a great cook. Sour cream/green chili chicken enchiladas. My SIL requested I make flan so I made it w/FF condensed milk, FF evap. milk and skim milk. So it wasn't as bad as it could have been -- I made it in 8 little cups so the servings could be small. Hopefully, this indulgence won't show up on the scale at my WW mtg on Thurs. But boy was that lunch good -- gotta say I really enjoyed it! ha!

Momma, glad you enjoyed yourself. I actually have the best losses when I use all my FPs. You will be fine!

Lisa, too funny. I always see those balls and just know I'd so fall off! I would look ridiculous!

RR, OK I figured you must be close to 5'. Yep 120 is a good weight. lol I just saw that and thought "no way no how woudl I EVER make it to 120!" Don't get me wrong...I wish for sure but I just don't see it for me!

Hi everyone else!

I got my bike together (ok dh did it but still...) and rode yesterday. It was so awesome!! I love it. And the man liked it too. At first we had to re-adjust the seat height so I stopped and went back home and the man lost it. He was prolly like "hey we just left and we're back already??" LOL Then he kept pulling up the back of my shirt and pinching (that's his "thing" not biting) my back. I had to swat him then he was good. lol Anyway, I'm hoping it doesnt rain so I can go again today. I think I found my exercise!! I love it! OK off to start the day. The man is just waking up. Bye all!

Hi All!

Woo! I finally have a loss to report! 1.6 for the week! :dancer: Bout time!

Molly, I have a bike that I bought when DH & I were dating. I think I've rode it 3-4 times. I know I've only rode it 1x since Peter was born! Hopefully we get a house in a side road and flat area!

SMU, good luck on the scales!

Lisa, I am totally amused with the visual of you falling off the ball! :lol3: I only used mine during labor, and I sure wasn't doig any acrobatics on it!

 Hi to everyone else! I'll be sloshing around in the rain this week! :rain:

I'm just getting ready to type, and Bethany says "Mommy, I wanna hooold yoooou." so I.m flying short on arm right now. :p
When I got up to get her outta bed this morning, the laptop slipped off the arm of the couch, but I caught it with the top of my foot.... OUCH. and just then the phone rings. It was DH, Hes like Whats wrong with you. Whatta way to start the day!!! :stress:
I'm down another lb! One week on ww and I've lost about 2 lbs!! :goodscale I get on the scales every morning. I know your not supposed to, but I can't help myself. It never discourages me, I am familiar with my crazy fluctuation.
I counted my points during the week, but Friday-Sunday, I lost count, but ate pretty conceptually. I just gotta get into the habit of counting them.

We went to a third day concert (contemporary Christian) It was pretty fun. there were 15000-20000 people there. Wow, you see all kinds thats for sure!

Long story short. I know this family from Bulgaria. The 6 yr old is a us citizen, and 15 yr old wants to be. She is the sweetest girl you could ever met. Well, I am trying to help her with this. DH and I wanna adopt her, but have know idea where to start. (She said that it would cost around $10000.) Anyone know anything about this type of thing?

RR Keep up the good work!! HMMMM Maybe i should get me a new ball. DD would sure love that LOL

Molly, the bike sounds like soo much fun. We live on a back road, and haven't lived here long. He doesn't want me to push the stroller(and I totally agree), but I wonder what he would think about a bike. Now there's a good idea!

Mustangmomma, sounds like you had a fun weekend. I'm sure you will be fine. You gotta give yourself a little wiggle room on the weekend, or you would burn out during the week.

Lauren HAPPY DANCE FOR YOUR1.6 the ball is rolling for you now ( just don't fall off it LOL):cb:

Morning ladies!
Busy weekend!! The beach was exhausting!! Packing the baby, packing lunch, carrying everything to the shore, keeping the baby out of the sun, chasing around after DS#1 and his two friends....Then had to go home, hit the store and cook dinner for everybody. I sat down @ 11pm...well FELL down! Got alot of great pics though. My cousins 20 month old DESTROYED my house. But she's so pretty its ok.;) Sunday had to head to Gma's and Gpa's (Too different places, same county) I took over all the baked goodies to my Papa, Its just something I have always done for him. I HAD to get that crap out of the house!!!
I weighed myself 6 times this morning in 6 different spots on the floor as I didn't believe my scale...I'm down another 2 lbs! My total loss is offically 50 lbs. I'll take a few pics and post them later when I am presentable. I think the big loss is due to stopping and starting over. You know how you lose a bunch the 1st week.
Lauren~ YAY you!!!! WTG! Now you need a ticker. You are a tall drink of water Missy!
Molly~ I Loved biking when I was in my late teens early twenties. DS#1 bought me (with his Father) a bike 6 years ago for x-mas and I rode it all of once. City biking sucks and is not safe. Every driveway you cross is potential to be run down!
Christi~ My brother has adopted two children, one of them when she was 13, but they where American citizens. Sorry about your crappy morning!
Lisa~ Yay on avoiding the Ice cream! I really dig those weight watchers fudge pops if you've never tryed them.

Hey everyone!! Well my weekend was boring, but ok. My daughter came home Saturday night from her dad's and her face was all red and a bit swollen. Well Sunday it didn't look any better, it didn't look like poison oak to me, but I did read that poison oak can take 7 to 10 days to show up for the first time and Jordan and I had it about 10 days before her face turned red (well I still have it, but have had it for a bit short of two weeks now). Anyway, this morning she gets up and her face is so swollen she can hardly even open her eyes. :( I got her into the Dr (since I couldn't Saturday night or Sunday) and he said he thinks it's poison oak and maybe an allergic reaction to some bug bites she has. So he's ordered prednisone (my son has had to be on this before for poison oak as well), so I'm now just waiting for the prescription to be ready to pick up. My weigh in is tomorrow, so we'll see how it goes if I get there, hopefully Emma will be a bit better by then.

Stevi, WTG on the 2 lbs and for hitting 50 pounds lost!! That's awesome!! And it sounds like you had a great weekend.

Christie, sorry about the start of your morning, but wtg on losing 2 pounds!! The group is on a roll lately, I hope I get a big loss this week!!

Lauren wtg on losing 1.6 pounds!!

Molly, glad you got the bike together and enjoyed riding it. My exercise would be swimming if I could own a swimming pool, lol. I think I could faithfully exercise several days a week if I just had a pool at my disposal.

MustangMomma, sounds like you had a good weekend!! And those 35 points are there for you to use, at least you didnt' go over them!!

Lisa, I've never had one of those balls but I have heard that they are good for working your core, I just know that my kids would have it all the time and I'd either never be able to find it, it would get popped, or I would just get tired of having it get kicked or thrown all over the house. ;)

RR, I agree, staying the same is definately better than gaining. My sister is only 5'1/2", and she's in the low 140's right now and when her friends tell her that she weighs the same as them she's always saying "yeah but you're several inches taller than me!!" I'm 5'6" so not sure what my final goal should be, but I have it set at 145 for the time being, it's a long ways away so we'll see how it goes when I get down that far.

Anyway, hope everyone is having a great Monday!!! Talk to you all soon.

And this is Noah at the zoo recently...

And this last one is my daughter this morning with her poor face all swollen from poison oak...her face was so swollen that she could hardly even open her eyes. :( The Dr put her on Prednisone, so I'm hoping that tomorrow it is a lot better after she gets her second dose tonight, poor thing.

Hey there Vanilla, You came to the right place for support. My solution to grazing at night is... go to bed LOL. Give yourself a shut off time, and make sure your full at that point, and of course drink plenty of water. Another thing, if you find that sitting in front of the TV makes you wanna snack, try changing you evening activity. (easier said then done, I know :p ) Just jump on in here girl.

Stevi: :high: :wow: Your waist is tiny! You've done all this since April? You are an inspiration. It's taken me around the same amount of time to lose 11lbs. (actually in December I weighed the same as I do now, and I gained 10 lbs, and am just now back to were I started) but hey I'm not complaining, at least I'm losing again:cp:

Mel: Very cute Kids! I love the hair on your teen ;) And poor poor Emma. My husband used to have reactions like that. Our wedding was out in the woods on a creek bank, and sure enough, on our honeymoon The poison oak showed up. He was fine till the last day but ended up in the ER to get a shot in the butt. (I 'bout had to hold him down, the bigger they are, the bigger the baby they can be...lol) He would NOT appreciate that comment

Sorry I haven't posted...I've been lurking but extremely busy. I'm currently a "married-single-mom-of-four" as my husband is working CRAZY hours and might possibly be taking on a contract job overseas for a while. Ugh!! AND, I work full-time! I love my job and don't plan on quitting any time soon, but I've got to get all my kids to various school/sport functions, etc.....I'm not sure how I am going to be able to do it all......:dizzy:

I love all the pics!!!!!!

Stevi ~ YOU ROCK, GIRL!! You look "mawvalus!" (with accent) And absolutely beautiful. You have MUCH to be proud of......... :D

Vanilla ~ :welcome2: This is a great support group! As far as grazing...I agree with Wannabe. Just go to sleep! haha I know, I know-----I'm guilty of late night snacking. BUT--I've found that if I drink some water and get interested in something else, it gets easier every night. <good luck!>

Melody ~ Great kids! Your daughter looks absolutely precious! Sorry about the swelling! Hope it gets better. I have found that my oldest boys (teens) are SO GOOD with my youngest! Is that true for you? It looks like he's helping his little bro in the first pic.

Better run..........got a million things to do today!

Hello to everyone else, it is time for me to go to bed.

Hey everyone! Emma still looked at least as awful this morning when she got up as she did yesterday morning, but by bedtime she looked better, so I'm hoping tomorrow morning she looks a lot better, the poor thing. Thanks for all the well wishes. I had weigh in today and was up .2 of a pound, I am just so frustrated with my weight loss this last month or two, at this rate it will take me ten years to reach my goal.

Molly, I remember that feeling when my oldest started middle school and even a bit when he started High School. I've got a couple of years yet before Emma is middle school age (she starts third grade this year), but my little nephew starts middle school this year and my Mom is really worried about him being in middle school already because he's so small for his age. And Noah hated it when Emma and Jordan were gone to school and he was home all day, he's so excited to be starting school himself this year so he's not home without any kids, lol.

Fit, as a single Mom of 3, I can tell ya, I know it's not easy trying to figure out how to work and take care of the kids and figure out how to fit everything in. How long would your husband be overseas if he took on the contract? I hope things settle down a bit for ya soon.

Howdy to everyone else. It's almost 4am here and the insomniac is wide awake, yet tired. I am going to have to buy some sleeping pills tomorrow so I can get some sleep, maybe that will help me get out of this thinking all the time mode if I actually get some good sleep. ;)

I'm BAAACK! I went away to an island off Maine for the past 4 days. Hiked, canoed, walked and ATE but DIDNT gain! Yippee! I felt really good keeping up on the hikes and I know I couldnt have in the spring with that extra 13 lbs on me. I even race my 8yr old who has long filly-legs and can beat her! Small victories feel great cause I know it is the payoff for my work!

Mel- so sorry about kiddo- I had the same reaction to poison ivy when I was a kid and my mom remembers people staring at her like she had beaten me when she took me to the ER! It is bad!

Well, off I go to do laundry and grocery shopping after the vacation and get dd ready for 1st day of school tomorrow!

Howdy! I'm new here, but hoping to find some support in my weight-loss journey. I have gained over 100 pounds since I was married in 1997, and am looking to lose most, if not all of that. I am officially starting WW-At-Home on 9/1/2006 and am hoping to convince hubby to join with me. He has much less weight to lose, but it will be easier to do it with a partner.

I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you better.

Thanks for the welcome Lauren! I guess I'll just jump right in.....

This week is going SO slow for some reason. I think it's because I know we have a holiday looming and I can't wait for a day off. :p Luckily my workload has slowed down today, so I should have a relaxing afternoon. I bought a bunch of new books and I can't wait to start on one, so I think I'll do that this afternoon. (I have a great boss who doesn't care if we read when we have nothing to do!).

Tonight I'm going to go through all of my WW materials and get ready to start on Friday. Might need to make a quick trip to the grocery store to make sure I'm stocked with healthy foods.

Hope you are all having a wonderful day and I'll try and check in before I leave.

Lisa, the kids are in Washington local. Andrea is starting Whitmer and Bryan is starting Jefferson. We don't have uniforms yet. I'm sure they will soon with Toledo Public going to them. My best friend's son is a senior in TP and has to wear them for the first time ever. LOL He's ticked.

Melody and Stevi, I'm not too worried about Andrea starting HS I just don't want her to! lol Bryan is a different animal all-together though. He's a little socially inept. Not many friends at school. He gets picked on because of the way he speaks. He doesn't talk like other 7th graders, he's on a whole nother level. He uses words I don't even understand. He's a theater guy and gets along great at theater group but school, not so much. I just want to go with him and walk him through at least the first day. Obviously that would make things worse and he'd prolly kill me but...

Blump, :welcome2:! You just have to jump right in. It's been a bit busy here the last few months (I expect that it'll slow down when school starts though).

Anyway, I'm doing good foodwise today, not so great yesterday but I'm past it now. I also got out on the bike already once and will go again after the man eats lunch. I love that thing!! I may go to the park and ride some trails. OK I'm off for now. Make it a great day!

MamaBear- I have a daughter like your son Bryan. She has read all the Harry Potter books in 2nd grade and uses incredible vocabulary in everyday speach. Other kids are turned off b/c they dont understand her though-process and are threatened or dont know what to say to her or whatever. She is working hard at keeping her mouth shut and not be so open with her "bossiness" just to get along with others. I want to encourage her to speak her mind and share her thoughts but there is a fine lie there to just fit in! She too is VERY interested in theatre. Interesting...

Blump- best wishes to you at WW. Good for you to stock the house and get geared up for the 1st meeting! I too am looking forward to more o a schedule and calm to the chaos come Sept!

Hello ladies! As usual, this has been a very busy place and I do not know if I will ever get caught up!! ;) I just read the most recent posts to try to stay afloat.

Christie~When is (or was) the reunion?? From last week's thread, I cannot believe the bargain you got on your shoes!! I love a good deal!!

Melody~I hope that you have been able to get some rest! There is very little that is worse than being up all night with nothing to do but think about all the things you have to do.

Squishy~WOW, sounds like a wonderful and very active trip!! My DS has also read the Harry Potter books and he will be starting 3rd grade next week. He is a very bright kid and before he started school I worried alot about him being left out or picked on because of his intellect. So far, he fits in pretty well, I think it is because of the sports and other activities he gets involved with, it has given the other kids a chance to really get to know him outside of school.

Blump~I have been thinking about going back to my WW plan at home. I did so well with it before, but when I hit the plateau, I tried to change things up some to see if I could kick start the loss again. It has been quite a while, so maybe I will try it again.

Well, DH and I went out to a new restaurant for our anniversary dinner, that was very nice. The waitress asked how many years we are celebrating and my husband foolishly spoke up first and incorrectly stated 10 years. I laughed and told her no, it is 12 years. DH told me that must be things are going so well that it just does not feel like it has been that long! Again, I laughed and told him he back pedals very well! He cracks me up!:)

Well, I will chat again soon!

Whew.....only 1 hour left of work - I think I can make it! :D

This board is so great, always someone new posting. I had previously been a member of the WW message board and all you get there is bashing each other and stories about how everyone went "off plan". Not a lot of help.

One of my non-weight-loss goals right now is to watch less tv. We have become major couch potatoes and that has got to stop. Hubby and I are HUGE hockey fans and we have MN Wild season tickets, so that at least gets us out of the house 40+ nights a year. I'm also starting to read a lot more and at least that keeps me away from the tube.

Sounds like everyone is getting geared up for the school year starting. I remember how depressed I always was when I was school age for this time of year to come. I loved school, especially high school, but it was still a bummer for summer to end.

Anyhoo, I have a bit of work to do before I leave, so thought I'd drop by once more to check in and hope to talk with you all again tomorrow.

Blump-
How nice that you can read at work! I love reading and when I get into a good book I drop everything else including meal prep and housework and spending time with the fam. I limit the # of books I get into like htat... lol

I did WW about 4 yrs ago and was very sucessful but felt so restricted by the time I met goal that I lost my mind and gained it all back. Ugh! What a mistake! There were emotional things going on simultaneously so it want actually so simple but...

What is your ww history? Ever felt this way too?

My wt loss this month is slow (4lbs) so maybe I need to be more restrictive. I think having the kiddo in school and the season change blahblahblah is a time for me to get more serious.

Well time to pay bills, yuck. - Now to see how much I don't have for the long weekend.

Talk at ya'll later.

Welcome back Squishy, sounds like you had a great time!! WTG on keeping up and on going away and not gaining!! I can't believe how many people have told me they had the same reaction to poison oak as Emma, I used to get it really bad every year, but never had that happen. My oldest son had to go to the ER with it once though, because his privates swelled up. I read a thing that said the oil can still be found on a plant that has been dead for 5 years!! That stuff is nasty!!

Stevi, hope DS enjoyed his first day of High School, I remember how big the school seemed when I took Jordan last year to his High School to register for his Freshman year. He goes to a small alternative high school now, only 120 kids, so it's much more personal, I like it A LOT!!

Welcome to the group Blump!! I hope that you enjoy WW's at Home, I am following WW's as well, although my weight loss lately has been slow as molasses I'm hanging in there. :) I look forward to getting to know you! I love reading a good book too, Jennifer Weiner is one of my favorites, and her book Little Earthquakes was awesome! I'm reading a murder/mystery right now, so far it's ok.

Molly I know what you mean about your son, my daughter is that way as well, she's in TAG at school, scored in the 98th percentile in the nation for reading for her age and the 95th percentile in math. She has a hard time fitting in with other kids her age as well. My youngest son is the opposite, so far he's behind for his age, although my oldest son was that way as well and he caught up pretty quickly. I hope your son enjoys himself and gets along well, I definately agree that he would not enjoy having mom walk him around the first day, lol.

Michelle, so glad you guys had a great day swimming and your son got to get out and enjoy himself, probably makes him appreciate his freedom all the more!!

Darcy, Happy Anniversary!! Aren't men funny?? At least he had a nice sounding excuse for not knowing how many years it was. ;) lol

Hello Lauren, Lisa, and Holy!! Hope everyone is having a great day!! I did get some good news today, my boss called and said she approved the new schedule that my job share partner and I put in for, now I can work extra shifts on the weekends and have closer to full time pay while still having some flexibility this first year that Noah is in kindergarten! One less thing to worry about!

Last week I actually gained and this week those pounds are just sitting there. They won't go away and its really starting to make me mad!! I haven't changed what I am eating. I guess it is time for me to start exercising. Dh has been working from 10am-2am all week long. It is hard to get anything done with a 3 year old and a 2 month old. UGH...Tomorrow I am going walking which is not easy anymore. I push the stroller and try to keep up with ds on his trike.

Holy Guacamoly! Would you look at all this chit chattin'!! Havin' fun with out me, eh? :D Nothing too glamorous going on around here. Logan is now on the opposite end of the contipation battle....yep, he's got the squirts. Geez! This poor kid can not win this. I have had him on half soy/ half reg form for more than a week and today he had three blow outs. (Sorry if TMI) I'm cutting out all juice and most fruits for the next few days. Any suggestions on a baby food that is a lil binding? i haven't been hangin' out here much as I have a mural job and have to get all the characters and colors arranged. Its lead to me sketching a few extras for my personal pleasure. I really enjoy when I'm "feelin' it". Only down side is I don't wanna be distracted (except by my Baby Boo) or leave the house. DS#1 enjoyed school today. I've had to go as far as saying..."You WILL be home by 4:30 young man" He wants to "hang out" everyday of every week....ummm...NO. Thanks for all the compliments!! The next one will be 70 lbs gone! (I hope)
Mel~ Your stalling is starting to bug ME!! I was thinkin' maybe its all the stress. Lack of sleep is a killer as well. My last job, I gained 30 lbs in 18 months. VERY high stress and I was doing the super woman thing, trying to control the house, meet the needs of the child, pay the bills...All alone. Its tough and it sucks. I have ((((((BIG HUGS)))))) for you!!
WELCOME, WELCOME Blump!! ( Ha! Lisa called you Blimp, I'm sure it was a typo, she's a nice girl;)) I've heard that alot about the WW site.
Molly~Thats so sweet you don't want her to go...I practically push Zack out of the moving car..lol
Goddess~ I'm really happy to here you all had so much fun. I hope this past experience sticks with the kid!
Darcy~ Funny thing, in my house I'M the one who can't remeber dates and things....my DH says I have bigger ba!!s than most men he knows...Its not true I tell ya. He's just more sensitive than me. Glad you had a nice time.
Lauren, Karen, Holy and all the rest.... HOLA!!!

Good Morning!!! I am procrastinating but have to leave soon for work..I think being at work for 4:30AM is starting to drag me down...
#2 was acting more strange than usual so I took her to the Pedi yesterday and it is a bladder and yeast infection..Talk about fun--collecting a speciman on a mentally challenged child..OMG...I was on the floor laughing cuz she was fussing at me for sticking the cup in the toilet..After 40 minutes at the MD--we did it!!!!:carrot: :carrot: :carrot: She had another ear infection--I guess it is time for tube set #10????So now we are on Diflucan, Augmentin, Monostat cream(really fun to use on her) and are trying Strattera to calm down the OCD, mood swings and aggression.
Diet wise--doing great!!!
Welcome Blump!!!!!Like Lisa said--we don't bash but have several who will not hesitate to give a :frypan: or :kickbutt: when needed;) ;) ;)

OMGoodness! I didn't realize it had been so long since I checked in here. You guys have been busy. Girlie is turning into a wild woman and does not like for me to be on the computer while she is nursing.

Blump: WELCOME!! It's great to have you here.

Squishy and Blump: I love to read too. Getting to the library to look for books for me is impossible right now, so I go online and request books. Then I just have to stop by and pick them up. I'm into mysteries right now because I found a website where I can find out about the book/author then request from the library.

Melody: Hope you are getting some sleep. It sucks to be tired and not able to sleep.

Man - you guys are really hard to keep up with!!!

Hello to ALL!

I've been reading posts, but haven't had the time to reply. Thought I'd take a minute to give a shout out and kudos to all of you! :bravo: Whether you are a loser or not (that just sounds funny...), the fact is that we all are taking control of our health and making positive changes! We might not always see a negative number, but measuring in pounds isn't always the best. Instead, measure on how you feel, how your clothes fit, your energy level, etc.......:dancer:

I've got to get back to work (NOT ready for my meeting at 10am UGH) but I am saying hello to everyone and I AM READING your posts.....

Fondly, ;)

Good morning all! Work has been a bit crazy so I'm late this morning. My boss is going out of town this weekend, and one of the other underwriters too, so there will only be two people in the office tomorrow. Hopefully a nice quiet Friday.

Not much going on here. Tonight I have such glamorous plans: laundry, picking up the apartment and cleaning the bathroom.:tired: It will be nice to have it all done for the holiday weekend, though. Tomorrow night we are heading to my in-laws for dinner and to visit with the family. My father-in-law has severe dimentia and it's hard for DH to watch him go through it, but it makes us realize that life is too short not to spend time with family. The rest of the weekend will be total vegging. We're going to try and get a walk in each day, but other than that we're de-stressing.

:) Squishy: This is actually my 2nd try with WW (first really serious one), and I get what you mean. It can be hard to be so restrictive. My goal is to do WW 100% for 30 days and form the habit. Then we'll see where to go from there. I would love to ultimately get to the place where I control what I eat without having to write everything down.

:) Lisa: Thanks for the welcome! I totally respect the "no bash" policy, as not everyone responds to weight-loss challenges the same way. As for me, bash away please!! :p I tend to do best when I am challenged and kept accountable. Sounds like a really nice, classy group you have here who really show respect for each other.

:) Holyteror: Thanks for the welcome.

:) Melody: Nice to know there is a fellow WWer here. I did a lot of research before I started and it seemed to be the most successful plan out there.

:) Angela: Plateaus can definitely be annoying! I'm sure you'll start losing again soon. I'm sure it's a challenge getting in exercise when you have the little ones to look after. Best of luck.

:) Stevi: So sorry to hear that your wee one isn't feeling well. The mural sounds really neat. I have no artistic ability whatsoever, so I'm always intrigued by those who do.

:) RR: Sorry to hear about your DDs struggles. Hopefully things will get better.

:) Karen: Thanks for the welcome.

:) Fit: I agree 100% that it's not the number on the scale, but how we feel that gauges true success. It helps to think that way when the numbers maybe aren't going the direction we want them to, but our clothes are feeling better and we feel healthier - still a success

Whew.......long post. I hope everyone has a wonderful Thursday and I'll check in on and off today.

BLUMP! WELCOME! I'm doing WW at home too, and I love it. I was a skeptic at first. Seemed like too much work, but the Lbs are falling of consistently for the first time in a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG time. :)

Darcy: the reunion is Saturday. It seems like I'm not gonna get to go one moment, and then now it looks like I will. so we'll see ;) (Its 4hrs away) LOL @ your DH, sounds like you have a good time together.

Stevi: go for the bananas! That should slowem down a bit. I love that your an artist. I love to paint, sew, photography, anything artsy (I didn't say that I have talent, I just love working with my hands) The down side for me too is that I give 100o/o of my attention... Housework, whats that?

BTW, It seems like the lbs are flying off! I may not have much to loose, but I have been trying for 2 yrs to lose the same 30lbs, and its finally working. I was down to 153 this morning, but silly me got back on the scale an hr later (hadnt' eatn or drank anything yet) and the had gone back up to 154. Thats ok, I dont really count a dropped lb till it stays off a day or two. Anyway, Im just so excited. People can tell too, cause my pants arent sausage tight anymore ;)
A huge part of my progress is owed to you ladies. It helps so so SO much to come here and talk to you all!!

I have a major prayer request for those who are inclined to pray.....

One of my former co-workers and his wife had twin girls yesterday morning. Both were diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis and both need surgery to repair their intestines/bowels. It is really touch and go right now and both are in the NICU. Please keep this family in your prayers. Their names are Matt and Bekka Lynch and the girls are Kerragyn and Giavonna. Thank you.

Hi All,

Blump, I'm soo sorry to hear about your co-workers twins, I just did and will continue to pray for them.
Your "glamorous" plans sound much like my weekends!
Sorry about your FIL. My grandparents are 92 & 95 and suffer from a bit of dementia also. It's very hard to watch.

Michelle, good for you laying the law down...glad DS listened.

Cristi, glad we can be of help! ;) I wish the pounds were flying off me, but I guess they're not going to if I keep eating the way I am and not exercising!

Karen, Hang in there....another reason I'm happy I have boys! (I'm just trying to convince myself that another baby is a bad, bad idea!!)

RR, OK, the visual is hilarious!! Good thing you're a nurse too!

Stevi, try the B.R.A.T. diet...Bananas, Rice, Applesauce and Toast. OK, little guy...duh...maybe he won't do to good with rice, how about rice cereal and I bet he'd LOVE to gum a piece of toast!

Angela, are you BF'ing? If not, maybe it's AF coming back that's causing you to hold onto some pounds?

Mollly, congrats on the new schedule!

Have a great day all!

Lauren you are so smart. I was coming here to complain a little. I bf ds1 for 9 months and AF stayed away fo 10 months. This time she returned at 6 weeks. I was in denial hoping it was pp bleeding. Guess not. But at least that explaines the pounds. 2 of them left this morning. Next week I have to go back to work:( I am so sad. But I a hoping that all the walking I have to do that I will see more of those pounds pack their bags for good.

DD is off to 3rd grade today. Spent ALL AM dropping her off, getting oil change, and grocery shopping. I'm organizing kitchen now with snacks for DD, snacks for me in good spots for us (ie seperate!). DH went to MD for 1st time in yrs and is thinking about heart health, wwt, and cancer risk (father died in his 50s!) so this is a great time to make family changes. My cholesterol profile is getting progressively worse over the past 2 yrs/ 3 tests so I am ready to look into that too.

Blump- so sorry to hear about babies. I work with sick kids and it is just sosad. CF is brutal . How premie were they? Best wishes to the mom and dad.

Goddess- Kudos to you for making him see and raising a kid who actually LISTENS to your side!

WannaB- My scale does the same. It was 4 lbs high when I first stepped on it and then the second time it was right at 170. I think DH had justed stepped on it before and it seems to remember whether a heavier or lighter person was just on.

KarenK- I hope nursing is going well. Those were the days! Mine nursed for what seemed FOREVER (well into toddlerhood) but after she weaned I missed it at times!

Thank you so much for the support and prayers. I will keep you updated if I hear anything more.

As for the rest of my day, it's been pretty good. I'm listening to talk radio and it's very interesting. All politics aside, I realize how out of touch I am with today's current events. Time to start paying attention I think. :^:

My boss will be leaving soon, so I'm hoping for some more reading time today. Not looking forward to my housework, but at least I have the knowledge that tomorrow is Friday! :carrot:

:) Squishy: Hope DD has a great first day of 3rd grade! Sounds like you've been pretty busy today. Actually, the babies weren't premie at all, right on time. The bowel problems are a direct result of the CF. I think right now they are concentrating on getting them home, then they will have to face the CF reality. Thanks for the concern.

I'm off to finish up my work before the boss leaves. Hope you are all having a great day. Can't wait to chat again tomorrow.

Wow, it's hard to keep up here.

Stevi, thanks a lot...I did think that the lack of sleep wasn't helping much, I have taken sleeping pills the last couple of days, but now I'm having a hard time sticking to my diet, I'm doing it, but I'm having a heck of a time when so far I haven't had a hard time at all. I'm hoping that work this weekend I will be so busy I won't have time to think about it and after that everything will fall back into place. Exercise has been nonexistant this week, but I've decided I'm not going to worry about it this week, if taking a break from exercise will help me not feel so frustrated then I'm going to do it. It will be easier to exercise next week once the kids are back in school anyway. You need to show us some of your artwork. I make mouse drawn computer graphics and LOVE art, used to do a lot of pencil drawings, but I am not skilled in painting at all.

Blump, so sorry to hear about the babies, I will definately send a prayer up for them.

Squishy glad that your husband went to the Dr, I need to get in as well, I haven't been to a Dr in 3 years or so. Hope your dd enjoyed her first day of 3rd grade, my daughter is starting third grade as well this year, Wednesday will be her first day.

Angela, sorry af came back so soon, but I'm glad you found out there was a reason for those extra pounds. I never got breastmilk in with any of my pregnancies, so I never got that added benefit of burning extra calories and stalling the return of af. ;)

Michelle, let us know if you rejoin WW's, I love it, although my lack of weight loss while on it has been frustrating, I'm pretty sure it's not the program and just my body going through a plateau type period, I'm really hoping I'm gonna push past it REAL soon.

Wannabe, wtg on doing so well on losing the pounds on WW's, that is awesome! Another lady I know has had the same experience since starting WW's, she was stalled for a long time, joined WW's and the pounds just flew off. I wish I could say the same thing, but I'm glad it's working for others!!

RR, sorry about your stepdaughter, I hope that the meds help with her infections and her other issues as well. That has to be a handful for you.

Hope everyone had a great Thursday. My friend and I took the kids to the children's museum, then my daughter went to a Birthday party, and now I'm waiting to see if my friend is going to show up for our weekly tv night, last week he wasn't sure if he would make it or not. If not I'll head to bed early so I can get ready for my long weekend at work...only 3 more long weekends before I'm done with my scheduled weekend doubles (I'm still going to try to work some for the extra money, but at least I won't be bound to working every other weekend two sixteen hour shifts). If I don't get back in here tomorrow, I hope everyone enjoys their holiday weekend!

Hi ladies! Sorry I've been away... crazy week. I've been reading all the posts to get caught up...

Stevi -- you're one hot momma! whow!! that's great and inspiring weight loss. WTG!

Melody -- I know what you mean about finding time to exercise. My son started preschool earlier this month (we start school in early Aug. here in DFW - crazy!) and I've been so consistent with working out. As soon as I drop him off, I head straight to the gym to workout. No exceptions. It works. His preschool has been such a huge blessing to me!! :-) I hope your daughter is doing better -- has the swelling gone down?

Vanilla - I wanted to say that late night cravings can be solved (for me) by brushing my teeth earlier in the evening - right after I eat my dinner and WW dessert. I brush my teeth/floss and they are so clean that I'm too lazy to brush them again - so I just don't eat. it works for me so far.

Blump - I'm in WW too. But I go to a local meeting with a friend. WW has been awesome. I've been so pleased with it. Actually, it's been like the least restrictive "diet" i've been on ... and i've tried others ... trainer's diet from Bally Fitness, Jenny Craig, Nutrisystem. Man, I feel so much freedom with WW!! As long as I know the cal/fat g/and fiber g -- i can plan for what i eat. And even have some extras if the week calls for it - with that 35-pt allowance. And by going to the meetings, I know I'm going to be weighed and a number will be put down on paper ... so I'm really held accountable -- I need that right now. I've tried to do it on my own several times and I'm just not serious enough -- I need to have structure with my weight loss. And it's working so far - I'm down 18.8 lbs since starting on July 13. I'm so amazed and excited about the future.

well, as for me, I took DS to the dentist for his very first appt/checkup -- boy, did i hear some loud screaming! whoo-wee. but good news is he has no cavities and all good, clean teeth. we'll go back in 6 months for another cleaning/flouride application and i can try to work on his anxiety for that next appt.
I did well at my weigh-in, even with my indulgence on sunday at my SIL's bday celebration. I lost 2.4 lbs this week!! But I did work my butt off at the gym to cover my indulgence -- but I felt good working out. I really feel like I'm getting stronger and that makes me feel empowered! sounds cheesy. sorry. Lol!

Good Evening,
Ever have one of those days where you where really busy, never sat down and in the end can't for the life of you remember what all you did?? Yeah.. That was my day today. I know I got all the laundry done, managed to cook dinner with crabby bottom on my hip (He's never very needy. I think its the teeth), organized all the bills in a stupid proof manner for DH....then its a blur. I was striving to get it all done to be able to sit and consentrate on my sketching but I just wasn't gonna happen. Oh well, DH is off tomorrow so I'll have some free time. I have a confession. I have ZERO modivation to exercise. Mostly due to my being seriously distracted. I just wanna do other stuff. My eating is really good. I am pretty confident that I'll stick to this long term. DS#1 asked me " Don't you just want a big juicy burger sometimes?" I though for a sec..."No. I really don't miss it" As he was scarfing my Sweet and Sour Pork and brown rice telling me how awesome it is. That was an opportunity to explain choices and that the fast food just isn't worth it. He's doing better. He's lost 15lbs. Logan is better. He's on 100% reg formula and is definetly more interested in drinking it. I geuss soy must taste like @$$. Still eats 3 meals. I'll post a few sketches later.

Mel~ I'm glad your week end gig is coming to a close. I really admire what you are capable of. My sister always bags on me that I can't do the Mom thing and the career thing at the same time. I CAN do it...just neither will be done well enough to satisfy me. Therefore working myself to a frazzle. Try and take quality time for you. Don't fret about the lack of exercise. I lose more consistently with out it. I'm flabbier but smaller.:)
Blump~ It amazing to me sometimes how particular people just get the crudy stuff layed on so thick. I will definety keep them in my thoughts and prayers.
Squish~ How did you ever get him to go? I've been wearin' DH down for the last year and still nothin'. I did manage to get him to up the insurance after DS#2 was born. That was his last check up. I think he needs to be more thurough considering his father died of cancer when he was 3 and his mothers genetics are unknown as she is adopted.
Mustang~ Thanks! *blush* WTG on the 2.4lb loss! Who likes the dentist anyways?
Babybelly~ I wasn't even remotely close to normal until I stopped BF. Sorry your back to work.:(
Lauren~ You are good at this Mommie thing. You always give good advice. I was already doing the bananas and rice cereal. I get him some zwebacks tomorrow.
Goddess~ Good for you!! Put your foot down! DS#1 isn't happy about our new arrangement (no "hanging out after school") but he'll live. WTG!!
Wanna~ YAY on the flying pounds! Bout darn time huh!?! :D I try to "earn" my play time when I'm painting or sketching by setting chore goals, like do the laundry, clean the floors and vaccuum then sit. But like today, everything got done and I didn't get to sit!
RR~ Your my hero. :D

Stevi- Just quick before getting everyone out the door this am- he actually went ONLY b/c he feels that his hair is suddenly thinning! Call it vanity but it worked. I partially have his ex-girlfriend to thank as she is his hairdresser! lol (actually she's really nice and has cut my hair too. It was a non-serious dating from WAY back). She said his hair felt "different" and he started seeing more hairs in the sink recently. He still looks hot to me, but I see him everyday so I havent noticed a change...

So, try his weak link if you can find one!

Fam history is a bummer. We DO need to learn from history though! My dad, mom, half-brother and half-sister (different halves!) have heart issues and my dr is not worried. I am switching drs to my old one to make sure I get a workup if he thinks I do!

Good morning....just a quick "drive by" for me today. There are only two of us in the office and it's the official last day of the month for us so it will be a little insane. I'm leaving early to see if I by book order arrived at the apartment and then it's back to pick up DH and run out to have dinner with his family. Crazy!!!!

Thanks again for all of the prayers for my former co-worker. The report this morning is that both babies are doing fairly well and the surgery seems to be a success. Hopefully they will keep progressing nicely and be able to go home soon. Then mom and dad can worry about dealing with the CF.

I hope you all have a wonderful OP Friday and a fabulous holiday weekend. I will check in a couple times this weekend if time permits. If not, I'll chat with you all on Tuesday!

Mornin, girls! I'm trying to stay "caught up" and connected, but it seems to be getting harder and harder! I really enoy reading everyone's posts and feel a real connection with a few of you! Had a good day yesterday (w/ food/exercise--work's a different story!). It was such a stressful day that during lunch I went up the street to a salon and got a manicure. The manicurist made several comments that made me feel WONDERFUL! She went on about how wonderful I looked and how young, etc......now, I'm sure she does that to everyone (to retain business!), but it still felt good! It kinda made me re-commit to staying healthy. I found that last night when I was STARVING, I went through McD's to get my son something (we were in a hurry) and I didn't get anything----not even a fry (and I love their fries). Instead, I went home and made a gorgeous veggie omelet. It was GREAT! And I felt really good about my choice. The power of positive feedback! All because of a stranger's comment...... Am I a sucker for a compliment or what?!?!?!? Oh well, such is life.

Blump ~ prayers DO work..............

Squishy ~ HI!

Stevi ~ Would LOVE to see your sketches! I haven't an artistic bone in my body...so it intrigues me that some people are SO talented. And CONGRATS on the "life change"....it's kinda cool when you can simply say..."No thanks" to something unhealthy and MEAN it! I get that ALOT here at work. Seems like there is ALWAYS donuts and cookies :cookie: and people are so concerned that I get some... and it's become so EASY to say NO! In fact, people are starting to not offer anymore....yeah me! :carrot: Either way----good for you (and hubby - 15 pounds! wow!).

SMU ~ 2.4 pounds! WOW...you rock! Congrats

Melody ~ I hear ya on it being hard to stick to the "diet"---------BUT...YOU'RE DOING IT! Give yourself a pat on the back. :cp:

Lisa/BabyBelly/Goddess/Wannabe ~ Hey there! :D [and to everyone I may have missed...;) !]

Yippee! I just exercised! DD is at school so my new routine is kid to school, exercise, housework and plan dinner, other stuff. I like it.

DD is not happy with school. This has been going on since K. She complains, drags her feet in the am etc but is apologetic when I get frustrated. She was bummed yesterday when she was introduced to the Reading Corner in her 3rd gr class and was met with Amelia Bedelia and Kevin Henke books. She is well past those. There was nothing more challenging than Bailey School Kids! I dropped a note to teacher offering to work with her to find books to make available to her in the classroom. DD wishes she could be homeschooled but I am not organized enough PLUS she is basically an only child and we live 7.5 miles from town with only 2 kids on this country rd! I just cant take 10 more years of her complaints that school is boring and I want her to like school! HELP! How can I get this kid to feel stimulated and challenged! I considered adding stuff at home but she is so drained after a full day of school that this wont work!

Fit- way to go at McD's! That is really hard I know! I once made a batch of choco chip cookies and didnt eat one bit of dough (my downfall) and I felt great but had a wicked stomach ache right afterwwards! DH thought it was some sot of panic reaction to the restraint. WOW! It showed me that it is more than Mind over Matter but the whole physical self wants one thing while the brain knows what it wants for health. OMG!

I know what you mean about compliments! They feel great! Mirrors tell little of the story but the perception of an unbiased person is worth a lot. She could have just said you had nice nails, or nice hair if she really didnt think you looked slimmer and younger!

WOW wow wow, SO many comments so little time. It takes me forever to read through the comments (which I love to do) but leaves me little time to comment on everyone. So please forgive me. (I feel guilty if I'm on the puter too long) I too have got to get this place in order before the long week end. The house is a mess 'cause its been a crazy week! I still don't know for sure if I'm going to the reunion, and its tomorrow. (I am not intrested in going if its only gonna be a slect few KWIM. I asked an old friend from this school (on Myspace) if she was gonna be there. she said she didn't even know about it!!!!) and the ones that organized it said that EVERYONE was gonna be there. That is the what my highschool was. It was very cliquey if you kwim.

I got on the scales and they were up!!! 156lbs and I've been eating great. I had two plums and hour befor bed, that might be what it was. and i didn't drink my water. I need to get my tail on the treadmill today. I bet it will drop in the morning. well see.:)

Squishy, do you think she may need to be moved up a grade?

Wannabe-
I've considered it but she is already one of the youngest (turned 8 in Aug) and fine motor skills-wise and somewhat socailly she is more 2nd gradish. Ah, public education and the conglomeration of so many skills and levels!

I skipped 3rd myself but was oldish for my original grade and then became youngish for the skipped-to grade and I know how it is in middle school being young! I was miserable while I still wanted to be a kid playing horsie and other girls were doing goddeess-knows-what! Ugh!

Really quick, as I'm out the door to practice. Here's one of Zack, DS#1 I did about two years ago. Its framed right next to the computer so I didn't have to pull out my portfolio. Sorry about the glare. Its done in Prisma color pencils.

You do rock Stevi! Wow, that is awesome. I'm not to great at portraits. Although I use to be able to do caricatures, that was a lot of fun!

Stevi that is awesome. Great detail in the hair. I am not artistic at all. I can paint a wall but that is it. Dh is really good. He did a portrait of my son using charcoals.

Well those last few pounds that came with af have decide to take a hike! :) Yay!!! And I have walked 2 miles yesterday and today. I go back to work on Tuesday :( so hopefully the extra activity will help more pounds to pack their bags.

I think AF is Aunt Flo, same as TOM. That was the first nickname I learned when I was a tween... am I right?

I lost my original lb I gained about stinkin' 2 weeks ago! I am back to 169 and AF is on its way and I definitely feel bloated and swollen.

Ate super yesterday and exercised to the point of sore glutes today plus did hrs of housework and cleaned 2 horse stalls! Keep moving!

Have a great LONG weekend!

Yes squishy, af is aunt flo. Although you will sometimes see Lauren refer to "The Hag." Same thing. LOL I crack up when she says that!

I am up 1.6 this week but I am attributing it to the exercise which I don't normally do. I was on the bike everyday except for Mon and Tues cause it was raining. and thurs I rode for over an hour cause of being lost on the *^$%#& bike trail. What a dumb @$$ I am sometimes. LOL Anyway, I expect it to be gone next week (hint, hint). Fat, fat, go away...and never come back. LOL Sorry too much :coffee2: today! I better get going. The man will be up from nap soon. TTFN

i'm having the urge for snacking grrrrrrrrrrrrr

i guess it'd be ok to eat some homemade pico de gallo and celery sticks. Alllllll veggies n herts. It'll set me up til my "real" snack time. Plus I might find the energy I need to go to Target........today's snack will be fresh tomato slices and basil with sprinkled feta, parm cheese and a dash of olive oil and balsamic vinagrette. I was cravin this stuff...

i don't know who's post i read but their rewards for pounds lost is a massage. It's a great idea!!! I promised myself after 30 lbs I'd have one.....I used to have pedicures every 10 lbs i lost so I should set myself up for that kind of reward again :)
