yes. the effectiveness comes from the cla found in the linoleic acid in it. you do NOT have to use this to lose to get its benefits. its quite costly.

cla can be found in canola oil & Olive oil&costs less and tastes better. it can also be found in REGULAR versions of the following: mayonaise, salad dressing, peanut butter.& in LOWFAT margarine. hope this helps.

Default Flax Oil/Essential Fatty Acids (EFA's)

For awhile now, I've been taking EFA's in the form of a special blend called "Udo's Choice Perfected Oil Blend". This was developed by Dr. Udo Erasmus, who wrote the book "Fats that Heal, Fats that Kill".

I don't know if using flaxseed oil or EFA oil helps with weight loss but I do feel much better taking them - and my hair and skin are noticeably improved.

Here's a link to an article about EFA's:

http://www.autism-treatment.com/efa-thf.htm

If you pick up the premiere issue of Energy for Women (should be on your local newstand by now!) there's a good article about 'good fat/bad fat' that touches on flaxseed oil, hemp seed oil and Udo Choice.

It's very important to remember that, to get the benefits of these oils, you should not heat or cook with them - the EFAs and good stuff will be destroyed in the process. I keep mine in the refrigerator and take a tablespoon twice a day - usually mixed in my Myoplex Lite shakes in the morning and just before bed. If it's easier for you, Udo's Choice also comes in liquid capsule form but taking it that way is a bit more pricey.

More info on Udo's oils can be found here - http://www.florahealth.com/united_st...ted_blend.html Hope this helps you!
