Just love this forum...learning so much. Anyhoo, how do you eat tabouleh? Do you use it as a spread? Thanks!

It's wonderful wrapped in pita bread with a little bit of hummus or by itself. It's also WONDERFUL with toasted pita chips or flaxseed tortilla chips. Just limit it to a portion of the chips. It can be hard sometimes. It's a wonderful summer side dish for anything. I have even been known to eat it on turkey burgers or even on a hot dog. When I eat hot dogs 9 times out of ten I use healthy choice franks and whole wheat buns.

Hope I gave you some good options.

I eat it straight as is or with pita bread.

Ditto. I like it straight, but LOVE it in a whole wheat pita.

I love it straight also but sometimes I add chickpeas to it, it makes a great meal...

I put it in a bowl and add cukes, olives, chick peas and feta cheese and it's a meal.

I make it regularly and serve it in a pita w/hummus or as a side dish.

It's really easy to make ... soaked bulghur, tomato, onion, fresh parsley, olive oil, lemon juice is my basic recipe, and then you can add or substitute other things as you wish. Cucumbers, nutmeg/cinnamon, green peppers, chickpeas, etc. My mom puts brown rice or wild rice in instead of bulghur.

I usually serve it as a side dish with grilled meat or fish.

We eat it as a salad - sometimes garnishing it with some crumbled feta.
