I don't know how hot it has been for the rest of you, but the last few days here have been so hot. My plants are soaking in the water as fast as I have been drinking it.
Yesterday:
B - 1 Egg; 2 slices of WW Rye Bread; 1 Tbl Lite Butter; 4pt
L - 2 Slices of Lite Cheese; Lite Pita Bread; Tomatoes & Basil
1 C Milk - 5 pts
S - Lunar bar 4 pts
D Lean Cuisine 6............that comes to 19 points,
but got the munchies at night....had a few handfuls of lite potatoe chips and a Skinny Cow Ice Cream sandwhich (I know that that is 3 pts)
So I'll say I had another 6 points....so I went 2pts over my allowed 24 pts.
Today
B: 1 Egg; 2 Lite WW Rye Bread 1 Tbl Lite Butter 4 pts
S: 1 banana 2 pts
L: Lite Raviolis and 1/2 C Sauce 6 pts 12 pts so far.
D: Chix and a Salad (probably 8 pts there depending on dressing).
Paula: I can't believe how much you ride. I have to get back to my exercising soon. My son will be in camp for a few weeks so I will be on a better schedule and I can go to the gym. I noticed that when I exercise I am hungrier. Also because of the heat here it is hard to get motivated to work up a sweat. I go into my vegetable garden in the morning and work in there pulling weeds, etc. Then I'm so soaked from that activity I haven't felt like working out.
See you tomorrow. By the way, does anyone know how to keep the weight tracker at the bottom of the posts. I currently have to keep going into it and putting it in everytime I post. Thank you!:flow2:
I have to add my 2 cents about eating below your points.
There has been a lot of research out their showing that obese people who eat a very low calorie diet can (and do) lose a lot of weight very quickly.
Web MD explaination of it (http://www.webmd.com/content/article/46/2731_1665)
Now combo that with thin people on a VLCD (like the entire cast of Ali McBeal) - I read somewhere that Ellen's girlfried (her name escapes me) ate exactly 500 calories per day while on that show and even counted how many calories were in her toothpaste in case she swallowed some. I am trying to point out that a thin person on a VLCD is an anorexic.
Both scenerios result in the undeniable fact that people on very low calorie diets lose weight. It isn't necesarilly healthy. It definately isn't something you can maintain long term. But will you lose weight? Yes.
I often read about people on the boards who claim they only had 800 calories or 15ish points and didn't lose weight - therefore showing that low calorie diets don't work. Well, I defy you to find someone who stayed at 800 per day for a month straight and stayed the same. It can't happen ~ odd medical conditions aside.
So why does everyone thrash on people who are worried about a 20 point day, jumping on them about not being healthy? I mean, we don't all pounce on a buddist or muslim during religious fasting. If someone wants to fast or wants to lower their points to get out of a rut, that is their perogative. It isn't something I can do - but it does work.
I think we don't want people to be able to cheerfully maintain on 18 point days because we can't do it ourselves.
There were lots of examples in the book "Thin for Life" of people who used VLCDiets as part of their weight loss efforts. And then later in life would occasionally go back on them for 1-3 weeks if they had put on 5-10 lbs to take care of it.
There are also lots of people who gained every lb back after their VLC diet. But there are also WW that gained back the weight, Atkins folks that gained back the weight. I am sure their are even calorie counters who stopped counting and 'poof' the weight came back. It isn't the fault of the diet, it is the fault of the person for losing initiative. And while we all know that some diets are better than others, if someone wants to eat at the way low end of the point range for a bit - then good for them, for being able to do it. I wish I could.

My 2-cents --
I, for one, am stuck in the 20 point range for now and I must tell you that some days are good and some days just out-right suck. I don't often use my flex points, but there are some days where I just need to eat more. Period.
I've done well on the WW program and have eaten my points with few to no flex point each week since I started 4months ago. I've lost weight every week (some weeks more than others). I honestly couldn't imagine eating below the 20points on a regular basis. That just can't be good for you long term. You may lose the weight, but I can't imagine your body will function properly on such a small amount of fuel.

I don't think VLCD's are good for you. Take a look at the side effects on the WebMD page. I do think they help facilitate weight loss.
I just get annoyed when someone reads a random post (say above) and then starts in you for not using your flex points -- tells you you have to use your flex points, it isn't good for you to not use your flex points, that there leader said to always use all your flex points etc...
It is your diet. You are choosing to not use them. You have lost weight every week. And you are at goal. That is wonderful.
I have had a lot of 40+ point days and I see you at 20 and think. Wow - I wish I could be like that. I know it is hard work because I have had glimpses of it a week or two at a time, but am never able to stick with it. It just drives me nuts when people find a fellow dieter that is being successful, and them jump all over her for not eating enough - it seems weird.

I'm with you, morrigan. We all have to do what works for us, and more importantly, what we will be able to stick with long term. That's the hardest part. Trying to figure out what we will be able to stick with in the years to come.
Lots of people have told me that I need to eat all of my flex points. Personally, my leader never told me to do that. He told me to use at least 2 of my activity points each day, but that I didn't have to use the flex unless I wanted to. What I love is knowing those flex points are there and understand that I haven't failed if I do choose to use them.
I'm about ready for a good 'ol 40 point day! LOL!
Have a great time tonight!

Howdy all! I agree, WW has proven scientific research saying what we should eat each day. I also agree, that a random day here and there, being too low or too high in pts. won't sabotage your diet. I don't choose to eat below my pts on a daily basis, I do however, chose to be alittle under the day before weigh in, IF I can be. Alot of times I cannot be, I'm just frankly, too hungry..but the days that I seem to be under after dinner, I won't go out and just waste pts on nonsense food, just to be exactly on my point target. Alot of nights, I do that...It'll be 7-8pm and I'll have 3-5pts left...Yes, I know I should plan my day better so I don't have so many at night, but sometimes it just happens, and the day before weigh in, I choose to not use those on sugary sweets, that I tend to use them on more often than not.
I am one who def. uses about 1/2 of my flex pts. every week, so I definitely do eat enough...hello!! lol, look at my stats...I've been on WW 19 weeks and am only down 18lbs...if I was eating wayyy less, it'd be alot more AND I'd prob. have failed by now, considering I cannot do anything, that I cannot do for the rest of my life. Now for my day...which, was not an under pt day mind you :)
B: Muffin 2pts
L: pb&j 3pts, 100 calorie chips 2pts, yogurt 1pt
S: fruit 2pts
D: out w/inlaws...the darned rolls anyhow!
steak 5pts, baked potato w/small amount of butter 5pts, salad w/dressing from home 4pts, rolls w/small amount of butter :(.....drum roll please 15pts!!
39 pt day out of 26. I'll use 13 flex and be done with it. On to a better day tomorrow.

Hello!! breakfast-grapes/banana/all bran cereal bar=4 pts. lunch-lean cuisine/sf pudding/1 mini choc. cupcake=9 pts. dinner-2 chicken soft tacos/pintos and cheese=9 pts. snack-watermelon=2 pts. Total for the day is 24 pts. I rode my exercise bike 10 miles today.
Breakfast-pb&sugar free j on lite whole wheat-3
coffee-1.5
Lunch-Pizza wrap-3.5
fruit w/choc pudding-4
fruit snack-1
Total-26
Stayed on my pts then, but last night was a different story! YIKES! We went out to Ruby Tuesday's...they don't have a very diet friendly menu anymore. I got the Hickory Chicken Sandwich, without the bacon..um, yeah, still 18.5 pts. SUPER! Oh well...altogether I spent 39 pts. So I haven't even had breakfast yet this morning and I'm already -13pts. I had only used 3.5 fp, and my new week starts Sunday at dinner. I'm just going to have to try to be extra good today (which will be hard cause I have a cake due Sunday, so I'll be doing the baking today.) Oh well, it is what it is!
Edit to say...I have to add, though, that even though I did blow it last night, I'm proud of myself that I fessed up and figured out pts for everything. I really was going to just "forget" that it happened, but I realized that if I did that I probably wouldn't be as careful today about what I eat, and I would end up just making it worse.
Hope everyone has a successful day!

Hi Everyone:
Morrigan I think you are correct. My husband is a diabetic. When he first was diagnosed he had to lose 40lbs. So he cut out all the sugar (of course) and cut down on his calories...we learned that he has to eat basically a low carb diet. He lost his 40lbs in about 4 months w/o exercise. He has kept the weight off and it has been about 8 years now. I'm jealous because I wish I had the will power he has...but a day at a time.
Anyway I thought I'd share this recipe from hungrygirl I got today. If you use low carb pita pocket I'm sure the point range moves to about 1 pt. or you could probably just fold the pita over for 2pt count with the apples.
Apple picking time is coming up in a few months, and I love to make apple pie. The problem is I eat to much of it. So if you guys like pie, maybe this is a good fix for us.
4 applies; sliced and peeled
One half tsp. vanilla extract
1 tbsp. brown sugar substitute (or any calorie-free sweetener)
One half tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. cornstarch
2 Western Bagel Alternative Pitas (or any reduced-calorie pitas; (halved
Directions:
In a small covered saucepan, cook sliced and peeled apples in 1/4 cup of water until tender (2-3 min.). Remove from heat and drain water. Into 1/4 cup of COLD water, mix vanilla, no-cal sweetener, cinnamon and cornstarch. Cook and stir until thickened to a caramel-sauce-like consistency (adding a few drops more water if it gets too thick). Remove from heat and stir apples into mixture. Stuff 4 warm pita halves (30 seconds in the microwave should do it) with mixture. (Serves 4). Top with ff cool whip.
Haven't eaten breakfast yet. It is finally a cooler day. So I'm chilling out for a while. I will post later.

26 point so far if I don't have more wine - which I may
DH is finally home - instead of being ecstatic, I just want to pass out with the relief of not being in charge of the children alone.
So I'm at -21.5 pts for the day. UGH! I have used up 25 flex pts (at least I only have 2 more days till the end of the week.)
I really try not to use much of my fp, but at least if I do have a night where I go out to dinner or slip up, it's not the end of the world!

Make yesterday about 33 points (I had more wine and crackers)
Today I did the long bridge swim for the 13th time. It was 1.75 miles with whitecaps, 3 foot swells, and a head wind. I got horribly seasick, had terrible indigestion, I was green and it took me about 1/2 hour longer than usual. Can't say I didn't get my exercise for the day though.
Breakfast: clif bar (3) and latte (2)
Lunch: bagel (2), meat (2) and lentil soup (4)
Headed to a buffet wedding and I have no idea what is in store
13 points so far today
The wedding had great food. Wild Salmon (3), Buffalo (1), quinoa (2), veggies (0), and salad (2) -- but the dessert (12) and wine (8) did me in point wise.

I'm home by myself this weekend. Husband and daughter went canoeing/fishing/camping. I pulled a muscle or pinched a nerve in my back this past week and couldn't go with them. I wouldn't have been able to sit and paddle for too long.
Here's what I've had so far today:
2 cups black tea - 0pts
1/2 cup egg beaters - 1pt
Spinach/tomato/mushrooms - 0pts
Pria 110 cal. bar - 2pts
Chips Ahoy 100 cal. pk. - 2pts
1 cup cherries - 1pt
That leaves me with 14 points left for dinner and snack and I have no idea what I want. That's a good number of points so I could have something really yummy, if I could only figure out what. I'm not much of a cook, either, so my ideas are limited. My husband has been doing the cooking for us through this diet and I'm positive I wouldn't have lost the weight if it wasn't for him.
On a good note - I went shopping for myself today! I don't do that often. I bought a skirt, slacks, top and a sexy black dress to wear for my 10th anniversary later this month. Can't believe I can finally wear something sexy! I had to keep going out of the dressing room to get smaller sizes because I guess I'm still in the mindset that I'm not thin yet. Well, guess what?!?! The skirt and shirt are both "smalls", and the slacks and dress are both size 6! I am flabbergasted!
Happy weekend everyone!

Haven't said much the last few days...I did stay on track Friday and yesterday. Feeling pretty down today; I found out that my cousin was shot and killed yesterday down in New Mexico where he is going to school. I don't know if how many of you are religious, but please keep me and my family in your prayers. He was only 25; it was quite a huge shock to me, so I can't imagine how my aunt and uncle are doing.
I might not be on much this week, so I hope all of you are doing well.

Hello everyone:
Haven't posted in a while. Lost 1.1lb at wi today. So I've been consistent with the 1lb a week. Finally was able to get back to the gym. Walked 2.25 mi in 40 min. Felt good. I'm hoping to get to an hour two days a week and a half hour the other 3 days. My hubby and I and my son bought bikes to start riding on the weekends. It will be nice in the fall. Cape Cod has a beautiful canal to go biking along.

I was bad today. I started off alright with a pancake (1.5pts) and a skim latte (2pts), but then we went to Humpy's for lunch and I had halibut tacos. 2 of them! Halibut, black beans, small amount of sour cream, small amount of guac, lots of lettuce and tomato. I had a few blue corn chips, too. I think I'm probably done for the day. I'm stuffed anyway. At the most I'll have a small salad for dinner.
I weigh-in on Wednesday and if all is well I'll get my lifetime membership then. I should not have eaten that today of all days - this close to weigh in. Ugh!

Sorry if i seemed as though I was pouncing, I was honestly concerned for her health. She seemed upset at herself for eating as much as she did and she was 4 pts. under for the day. I also wasn't paying attention and was thinking that she was one of the people who had joined the previous week. So, in my head we had a brand new member who thought that they were only supposed to eat 15 points per day and that any more was bad as opposed to a long time member who occasionally goes under.
While I realize that i sometimes harbor resentment for thin people or people who don't eat alot without even knowing it, this isn't one of those cases. I see alot of worry and guilt on the boards about doing simple things like using a few flex points, eating a cookie without using flex points or using all of the allotted daily points. It concerns me for someone's health when they get upset or worried about eating a healthy amount of food or indulging a little bit as long as it fits into their diet.
So, if i came across as being harsh or nosy, I apologize.
We went out to Ruby Tuesday's...they don't have a very diet friendly menu anymore. I got the Hickory Chicken Sandwich, without the bacon..um, yeah, still 18.5 pts.
My mother recently told me that they had a heart healthy menu kind of hidden somewhere on the back page... did they do away with that?
anyways, I have been tracking, but just have been to busy to post here.
Have been right on target so far. I lost 1.8 pounds at weigh in today and I FINALLY dropped below the 175 point.

Yay Voodoo!!! WTG on your weigh-in! That's great news!
Well, I was right. I was still full from my lunch out, so I didn't bother with dinner. My husband didn't have dinner either. He was full too! My WW diet is doing wonders for his waistline!! LOL!
So, I had 16.5 points left when we went to lunch. I didn't put cheese on the tacos. I had a few blue chips, but not that many. So, even if I over-did my points today, I'm still within my flex. Of course, with final weigh-in to obtain my lifetime membership on Wednesday I could have made a better choice for today, but what's done is done. And they were SOOOO YUMMY!!!! LOL!

Hi all..
I haven't been tracking the last few days; just haven't really cared much about it, to be honest. Yesterday I read over the Wendie plan, and I think I'm going to start that today. I think that is why I have always fallen off the WW wagon so early on; I have a huge loss the first week, some the second, and then nothing. Last spring I was on the flex plan, and for about 4 months I followed it religiously (even exercised every day) and in that time frame, I think I lost like 8-9 lbs. I was attending meetings, too, and my leader couldn't give me any insight as to why I wasn't losing. Soooo I'm also switching so that my pts start in the morning, only because I don't trust myself to eat right today until dinnertime if I'm not tracking.
Do you guys ever feel like maybe you are just meant to be at this weight? I am tall, so I think that I carry my weight well...I've been at this weight for so long with much effort to get down into my "normal" weight range, that sometimes I really do wonder if I should just forget it and be happy where I am. Realistically I know that I would never do that, but I do wonder if I'm doing all this for nothing, and that I never will be at my goal weight. Just pondering....
I'll post my pts tonight. Hope you all have a successful day!

Hi Paige and everyone:
Paige, I was just thinking the same thing today while exercising (about our bodies being this weight)...but don't give up. Our bodies don't want us to part with this weight and it is very hard work. I have come up with a system where I have a certain menu week to week and sometimes I will alter it if I'm bored so that I stay on target. I'm doing the Wendie plan this week. Sometimes because I eat only the 24 points and exercise points (I feel tired and week)...so it shows me that I'm not eating enough. Anyway, don't give up.
Yesterday:
B/1 Lite Bagel 2pts; 1 Egg 2pts; 1Tbl Lite Butter 1 pt; 1/2C Milk 1 pt -
total 6 pts
L/ WW Lasgna 6 pts; WW Ice Cream Sandwich 2 pts
total 8 pts
S/1/2 Banana, 4 Strawberries, 1 C Milk - 4 pts
D/4oz Chix 4pts; 1 Cup Wheat Pasta 3 pts 7 pts. Total of 25 Only used 1 pt from exercising.
Today/
B/ 1 Egg 2pts; Lite Bagel 2 pts; 1C Milk 2 pts; 1 Lite Butter: Total 7 pts
Hi everyone. Remember me? Just kidding. Though it has been way too long since I've been here. Been the same amount of time since I ate right too. Don't quite know what is going on. However, I can tell you there is quite a snow ball effect happening. I have not felt well. I have been eating lots of junk and sugar and not working out. Now, I feel even worse! I am going to try to eat right for lunch and dinner and wake up tomorrow as I have for the last several months and start anew! I weigh in tonight and will be purchasing another ten coupons to get me through ten more WW weeks.
On the health...........I was put back on blood pressure meds BIG HUGE :( Oh, and a  I have worked my tail off to not be on meds. As some of you may remember, I don't even like to take OTC pain relievers. This does not make me happy. I am still feeling dizzy and light headed. What gives?? Will have a cat scan in about two weeks if it continues (says the doc).
On....what if our bodies just want to be this size........UGGG!!!! Me too. I think that is part of my hang up over the last two weeks. This is the thinnest I remember being (since about sophmore year of high-school). I am 5'6" and also think I cary my weight pretty well. I am at 180 and am in a comfortable 14 but also bought a pair of 12 pants last week. I am feeling like it is going to be a mad struggle to lose from here. They always say it is hard to lose the last bit. Now, I am not saying that 25 pounds is not much, but it is not much when you had to lose 75-80 to begin with. And people now, people ask how much more I want to lose and are shocked when I say 25lbs. My aunt said, "from where?" This is a compliment, however it seems to sabotage me at the same time. I think well, I look good. I just sit tight here. What if 20 pounds is what I need to get off the midicine? That is still a pretty significant amount of weight to lose.
I will try to post on here daily. Maybe it will help me get back on track and feel good about all of this again.
On another note........I have been enjoying time with my family and friends. Have started to spend time with neighbors down the street. They have lived there about 3 years, and we just met them. It is so nice to be friendly with neighbors. I have also been doing a lot of scrap booking. It feels great to get pages done and in the book.
Hope I did not bore any of you. I know this thread is to track points and food, if I can't start to do that, I will mosey on over to a different thread to free up your time and space. Have a GREAT day!!!!!! --Amy

I think your body "wants" to be at whatever weight you are supplying the calories for. If you eat 2400 calories a day your body is going to want to be overweight. If you eat 3600+ calories a day and don't exercise your body is going to want to be obese. If you eat 1200 calories a day your body is going to want to lose weight.
How much we eat has a lot of factors playing in - family and culture being right up at the top.
Your body will do whatever you tell it to. You just have to train yourself to eat less.
I just need to put that into practice. I am so envious of people who can eat slowly - just nibble - only put a little bit on their plate. I wish I would have learned all that when I was young instead of trying to retrain myself now.

Hmmm...not really sure if I agree with that. Like I had mentioned before, last spring I really followed the WW plan...I mean, measured stuff out, didn't use my fp or activity pts, did high intensity exercise 45 min a day and saw NO results. I even totally cut salt out of my diet (stuck to no more than the rda 2300) and nope, nothing. My WW leader didn't even know what to tell me, except to stick with it...which I did for 4 months with almost no weight loss
(lost 6lbs the first week, and only 2 for the rest of the 4 months.) I think with me, my metabolism just stinks. A person with a high metabolism could eat those 3600 calories and not exercise, and her body wouldn't "want" to be obese. LOL....unfortunately I am not one of those people! :?:

So, I said I would post points......here goes
lunch
left over chicken enchilada casserole. ???
not sure on points here. Looking into signing up for etools so that I can input some home style recipes and calculate points. Maybe that would help me. I have not had any of my "comfort" foods for so long. For example.....my enchiladas. Has anyone done etools?? Any luck.
I also wanted to mention that I got a George Foreman grill and used it last night for the first time. I loved it!! Just spiced up some pork loin chops and in 11 minutes we had healthy meat for dinner.
Will let all know tonight how weigh in goes. I know I will have a gain, but I am not worried. I am ok with that.

So far, so good today. Skim latte (2pts), Kashi oatmeal (2pts).

Well, just as simply as the fair left town, I think so did my chances of getting to "onederland" tomorrow...why does some food just reel you in? lol
We'll see tomorrow at WI how I did, I am seriously considering the wendie plan for the upcoming week...can't hurt. I've been plateaued at around this weight, give or take for far too long.
B: muffin 2pts
L: Huge salad, 1 slice pizza 11 pts
D: pb&j, baked chips 6pts

Maybe I'm too hard on myself. I was in another chat room last night for WW and they were praising my 18# loss in 19 weeks. I just feel like it should be so much more.

Hi all:
AJ's Mommy...18 lbs is great in 19 weeks. That is how you want to lose the weight...slow and steady. Our bodies could not handle drastic weight losses. Besides, our skin needs to decrease slowly like our weight, otherwise it will be hanging off of us. At 194 I carry my weight very well and do not look obese (as I'm told I am because of my bmi). I'm trying the Wendie plan this week too. But today I had 29pts plus 2 exercise points to spend, but I'm not hungry anymore. I eat more points during breakfast and lunch. One of the things I find to be very helpful is to write everything down I put in my mouth. So today I have eaten 24 points. Tomorrow I'm eating dinner with friends, so I'll save some points for tomorrow. Thursday is my high day on the Wendie plan, so I plan on doing an hour of aerobics tomorrow and thursday.
I sense from many of you that you are discouraged with where you are in your weight loss. It takes time and courage. So be encouraged everyone...a day at a time. I have a long weigh to go too...but I'm looking at a 60lb weight loss happening over this year...so that maybe by next July, 2007 I will be where I want to be. Keep reaching. Be of good cheer!
Thank you for the kind words, I do know, that slower is better as we will truly learn the "way of life." As I think I've stated before, I did WW in 98 and lost 43lbs in 4 months, so at times, I wish it were like it was then, faster! But, on the flip side...Look at where I am now? I had gained it all back, PLUS 32lbs. My highest was last June (2005) at 235, so technically I'm down 33.5lbs, however, I only started being conscious of it in Jan. of this year where I started Curves at 225, and WW March 29th at 219. I'm down 29.25", 22.50 lbs and 15lbs body fat according to Curves, which I admit is impressive. I feel so much better, clothes that didnt' fit, fit or are even too big now...people at work comment how loose my scrubs are, I'm down from an XL to a Large, and even those are too baggy, however, a M is too tight on my DD's :D (one thing I'd like to keep larger) haha. I'm a comfy size 16, and not looking for anything drastic, I'd be happy in a 10, just so I can walk into any store, and purchase w/out crying that this store has things, and this doesn't...or this store I'm an 18, and this one a 14, etc.
We'll see tomorrow what WI brings, and I'm seriously going to check out the wendie plan for a week, just to see what happens.
Thanks for the words, this board helps immensly, when in a funk!!

Drum roll please..............OK, it was not too bad. I only gained 1.2 pounds over the last two week binge. And I do mean binge. I ate an entire half gallon of Dryer's Butterfinger ice cream between last Thursday and yesterday. That was only 5 days. I don't think that I could have pulled that off at my heaviest. Looks as though my meeting was two weeks too late for me. Our topic covered what happens when you deprive yourself of missed foods for too long of a time. I think this played a big part in my two week junk funk. Any who....I could not be more pleased with my results. I will try my hardest to get back on all wagons tomorrow including my work out routine. It is just hard when I don't feel well.
Thanks for your words Melloyan. And Morrigan, thanks for listening.
I leave you all with this tonight (quote from meeting).

Thanks melloyan
I have been decidedly grouchy, discouraged with dieting, and in a lot of ways just sick of being a sahm for the summer. I really look forward to school starting just to get out of the house and on a routine. When kid food does not sit in front of me all day I do much better with my eating. I really believe if I just had better willpower, I could lose these next 60 lbs, but it is a lot more difficult to do it than to talk about it.
As for the post about what weight your body wants to be. Keep in mind that my degree is in math - I am a numbers person. Although I acknowledge that not everyone fits into a box, I believe that most of us do. Eating 24 points a day is going to make most people lose weight, if they can just stick with it.

Wow Amy, that's great. I can gain 1.2 lbs just by eating a Snickers bar! That shows that all of your hard work in the past really DID make a difference. A week or two of less than steller food choices didn't ruin all of the work you've accomplished. YAY!!!
Morrigan - I completely understand. School starts here on 8/22 and I am counting down the days with a smile on my face. Only other SAHM's can even begin to understand these feelings. It's not mean or hateful. Not many people understand. I've done this for 6 1/2 years now and I truly feel I'm losing brain cells as each year goes by. I love my daughter, but I really miss working.
I only ended up eating 12 points today. I just feel yucky. I don't know what's wrong. I drank a lot of water, I just wasn't hungry. That doesn't happen to me much, so I guess it's not a bad thing. Usually I stress eat - today I stress starved. Whatever. Please nobody yell at me. It wasn't intentional. I usually eat every one of my measley 20pts.
Tomorrow is the big day. Lifetime membership. Cross your fingers for me!

Hello All:
Amy Kudos to you with the small weight gain...you will lose it again. Also, Amy, did you post that you were feeling dizzy earlier and that you went to the doctor to figure out what it was from? Someone said maybe you weren't drinking all your water? I was just reading that sometimes our estrogen levels can throw us off...making us feel dizzy and tired too? Did you have a blood work up done? I know lately I have added more fruit (especially bananas) to my diet and I am feeling better. Bananas have a lot of nutrients...potassium being one of the highest from food sources. Anyway maybe some of this will help you. Hope you are feeling better.
Yes, Morrigan, I can agree with you that if you do stay strictly to the 24pts a day you will lose the weight, although sometimes I'd get stuck. If I do not exercise, I stay at the 24pts. If I am very active, I eat more because my body is asking for it. I also am presently a SAHM...I just quit my job working as a Leg. Sec. for the past 3 years to help pay for my daughter's wedding and hers and my other son's college educations. I have a 10 year old left at home. I have to say I'm really enjoying being home again. Working and trying to schedule my son's time and trying to diet and do all the other required things is a lot and the older you get it doesn't get any easier. I do what works for me now. My son is in two weeks of camp presently and had a few other camps during the summer. He doesn't go back to school till Sept. 7th. So I have a few more weeks of time off with him. They grow up so fast. I will agree that it can be a tough road, especially if you have a traveling husband (like me) and feel like a single mom most of the time. Just want to encourage you all not to wish the time to go by so fast (because we are aging ourselves also)...I have a few friends who are emty nesters and although they are loving it, they do admit that they miss their children in the home and being busy with them. Hope I"m not coming off as preachy!
I will post tonight my eating...I hope you all have a marvelous day and great success with your diets today.
By the way Amy, I loved the WW slogan. I got a good laugh from that because it is so true!
*Drum roll please* I didn't gain like I thought I did!! I lost 3/4lb. Which puts me ohhhh soooo close to onederland I can taste it!! I weighed in today at 200.75lbs. I thought for sure I would gain, after the fair fiasco, and I am due for TOM this week as well.

Way to go AJMommy and Snowgal! Lifetime is still a distant dream for me, but getting out of onederland is something I recently experienced. Now I just want to be out of the 180's.
Breakfast: oatbran cereal with blueberries (3), latte (2)
This week in points 35,36 - which means of my 35 extra points for the week I have used 23 already.
V00D00, hang in there! I can commisserate about the stress eating. That's how I gained the majority of my weight in the first place. Easier said than done, but try to focus on other things instead of the quick stress fix from food.
Melloyn - I was a legal secretary/paralegal for many, many years before I quit to stay home when my daughter was born. Sometimes I think dealing with a toddler and dealing with attorneys are about the same! LOL!
I'm off for my weigh-in, then back-to-school registration, then to the tailor to pick up some of my bigger clothes that I had altered to fit the new me.
Have a good day everyone!

Good morning/afternoon ladies. It is only 10:46 here. Way to go Jennifer!!! That is awesome! I am so crossing my fingers for you Liz. How exciting that one of us will be at goal!!! Now if the rest of us could follow.....
Melloyan, Yes I did mention the dizzy thing. I go back to the doctor for a full work up and physical on the 13th of September. At this time, they are "regulating" my blood pressure. This is a waist of time. I know in my heart of hearts that I do not have high blood pressure. I will address this at a later date with them. For now, I will let them do what they think to fix this dizzy and light headed thing. My husband too mentioned the hormone thing. Hmmmmmmmm....what do think he is saying? Anyway, I am drinking a ton of water. I am even having to wake up in the middle of the night to pee. I don't normally EVER wake up like that. And no, I am not PG. Not possible and the doctor did a test last week. I will keep you updated.
So far today I am doing great. Tried to get right back into my old good habits.
Breakfast
oatmeal 3pts
workout
30 min cardio
30 min with trainer. I burned 536 calories according to my heart watch.
Going to a friend's house for pizza today and play date for our 4 year old boys. I will have 4pts of pizza and salad. Due to the workout, I may have two slices of pizza (8pts). I will play it by ear.
Will check back in later. --Amy

Hi all...
So far so good today. Today is a high day on the Wendie plan. Right now I've had bfast and lunch and still have 20 pts left.
I went and spent $150 ($100 after a coupon) today on clothes for the funeral for my cousin. The calling hours are tomorrow and the funeral is on Friday. Ugh, not looking forward to going. I'm not sure if I'm going to make the calling hours or not...I live about 4 hrs away, and dd has school orientation tomorrow, so I'm not sure. If I don't make it up there for that, I'm going to end up returning a pair of dress pants and top that I bought (the pants were $50 and the top $45...has anyone else noticed that Lane Bryant store has gotten more expensive?) Anyway...neither here nor there...The next few days are just really going to be hard.
I'll post my tracker later...hope everyone is having a good day!

I offically am doing the wendie plan this week, I sure hope it doesn't alter my chances of being below 200 by next week...however, it still is w/in your range of pts, it just balances some of your flex out for you...I think it ends up using 27 of your flex. My leader told me today, to drop my pts...I've been at 26 and she said I'm so close to the 24pts/day that I could/should drop now to jump start me back into losing, so that's the master plan.
Here's what I've had, and what I plan to have:
B: muffin 2pts
L: pb&j w/banana 5pts, 100 cal. chips 2pts
S: ww yogurt 1pt, ww 1pt bar
D: salad w/chicken & bacon & barbeque sauce 7pts
S: popcorn w/oil 3pts
*I drank a 32oz Powerade drink that is 40calories=1pt
That leaves me w/2 more for a dessert type thing later if I so chose

And, I hope you all don't mind, but I'd like to still keep posting and sharing because I honestly feel that will be the only way I will keep the weight off.

Well done!
Ok, I need your :goodluck: vibes now... My hubby's hours at work have been cut, which in turn drastically decreases our income. He's bringing home about 1/2 what we're accustomed to. Things are hard. I work in the medical field, and I love my job as a Medical Assistant in a pediatric office, however, I do have my resume out at different hospitals, hoping that maybe, someday my ship will come in and I'll find that higher paying position I'm capable of. Today, one of my former MA teachers called me, she's subbing at an office that needs a MA...the pay starts at where I'm at now, and can be higher, and the hours are about 12 more a week than I get. No weekends, no holidays, no nights and we're out on Fridays at 12. At this office I work Fridays till close (summer it's around 5-6, winter it can be up till 8pm) we work every weekend, rotating shifts and some holidays...(yep, kids get sick at the damnest times :) ) She wants to see my resume, which I'll take to them Friday, please pray for me, that I do what is right and best for me and my family...it's always hard/scary to switch jobs. I've been at this company now, for alittle over a year, just graduated in May 2005, but the company owns MOST of the practices in my area...so it must be a conscious and thought through decision on my behalf if I switch. I do know, however, I will leave on very good terms with who I'm at now, so hopefully I'd have a job w/them again if ever need be.
Decisions, Decisions... *fingers crossed*

Hi all,
Snowgal, yes, the guy I just quit working for absolutely hated being a lawyer and let me know almost everyday. Three years of drudgery. I think he was also slightly bi-polar and definitely anal. But I'd say that he definitely had the mindset of a 2 year old at times. Glad I'm not dealing with that anymore. I've worked for some real sweeties and have enjoyed most of my work experience. But this one took the cake. So you probably are enjoying the time with your child as much as me. At least you can control the behavior somewhat. With the boss your hands are tied. By the way, awesome on reaching goal (you must be SO EXCITED)...and of course I would love to hear from you on this thread. So I hope you keep posting.
Amy - Keep me posted on the health situation...I'd also be careful with the medicine the docs want to put you on...they always seem to be pushing meds. I don't like to take anything. I have slightly elevated cholesteral levels, but I'm hoping that the weight loss will correct it. I don't want to take anything unless I absolutely have too. I look forward to what you hear from the doc in Sept.
Today's Post:
B/ 1 Egg 2pts; 1Tbl Lite Butter 1pt; 1 Lite Bagel 2 Pts; 1/2C Milk 1Pt;
s/ ww Ice Cream Sandwich 2 pts
1 Molasses cookie 2 pts - I indulged a bit.
D/Chix Picatta and veggies 5pts
2 small slices of Italian Bread with 1tab of butter 3pts
8 pts (guessing cause I went out with the girls)
So total points today were 27...(I'm doing the Wendie Plan, but haven't used much of those points) Also I earned 3 pts for exercising today...1 hour on the treadmill. So I'm right on target.
Melloyan and Amy - If it helps any, I want you both to know that the whole reason I joined WW was because the doctor wanted to put me on meds for high blood pressure (and we're talking pretty high) and high cholesterol. The Doc took away my birth control pills and gave me three months to try to fix the highs on my own, but if I couldn't she'd have no choice but to put me on medication. I was a stroke just waiting to happen and it does run on my mother's side of the family. Three months later (before I had even met goal at WW - I think I had just made my 10% goal) I had another set of blood tests and the results were NORMAL. I was given my BC back and no meds for me! My doctor is thrilled with my progress. Personally, I don't believe she thought I could do it.
I know this whole process sucks at times and it really hasn't been easy for me either, but it does work and it will help with medical problems. Even if losing weight doesn't solve everything, you will definitely feel healthier and even (get this) YOUNGER. I swear! I'm 39 and I actually feel (and look) younger now than when I started this process.
Just hang in there! Each good day is another step towards your goal. One bad day followed by one good day is better than two bad days, right? Every little bit of exercise counts and every good food choice counts. I know it's hard not to focus on the bad days and bad choices, but be proud of yourselves for your good days and good choices! Every day could be a bad food day if we let it. I hope that made sense.

Anyone have any other tips on the stress eating thing? Even when occupying my time otherwise, I have incredible urges to eat and at every meal, I want junk food. It's also that time of month for me, so that's probably complicating the food craving situation. So, far i've been doing my best to indulge a little within reason at meals (i.e. half a sheet of cinnaswirls at lunch) and either avoid snacks when i'm not hungry or make them as healthy as possible (like popcorn and raw carrots and such), but i'm still having a really rough time. Especially if there's food around. The popcorn i had when i was stressed out, trying to figure out how to occupy myself and someone was eating big huge battered jojo's (fries that are about 4 times the size of a large steak fry). I realize having the popcorn was better than having fried food, but i would have rather not spent the points on anything.

Liz, I am very happy that this has worked for you on so many levels. I am still hoping the same for myself. I took my blood pressure yesterday with a home machine. It was 101/61. Does anyone think that is "below normal?"
I do. I think if I were not on the medicine, it would still be in a normal range. ???????
Anyway, dinner was ok.
I don't think I finished posting food for yesterday.
So, that puts me at 23 out of 24. I did earn about 6 activity points. I could consider them gone too. I had quite a few pistachios (can't find points on them) and also had a bite of DS's ribs from dinner.
I feel pretty good about my first day back on track.
I am however skipping the gym today to take my son bowling with friends while his sister is at school. I have been doing some fun stuff with him. It is nice. He has not had any alone time with me. Although hers was when she was under 1 year old, at least she had me to herself for awhile. Our elementary school no longer offers half day kindergarten, so he will be in school from 8am until 2:30pm M-F next year. :( I sure did not want that.

Hi everyone! Thanks for the congrats! I hope you all know how much I appreciate the help and support each one of you has given me through this journey. I truly feel my weight loss has been a group efforts. THANKS!
Last night my daughter and I (Husband away fishing) went out to celebrate with burgers, fries and milkshakes, but today I'm back on plan. I *WILL NOT* gain this weight back.
So far today:
Most of a 12oz skim latte - 2pts
Kashi Oatmeal - 2pts
I'm thinking about allowing myself 22pts a day now. If I gain on that, then I'll have to drop it back down, but I think that would be a good point range to start working on my maintenance. We'll see.
Buffalo - that's very odd blood pressure. Top number is too low, bottom number is low. I have no idea what that means. I hope it can be figured out soon for you. Trust your own judgment. If you aren't sure about what one doctor is saying, see another one. I did that. I got a second opinion about the whole cholesterol/blood pressure thing because I didn't believe it was as bad as my initial doctor was telling me. Turns out it was. <sigh> I felt better with 2 docs telling me that, though. LOL!
**Edited because I'm a dufus!

Howdy all!
Buffalo, 101/61 is definitely not too abnormal. A typical adult guideline we say is 120/80. Mine typically runs about 112/70 or so. Did you Dr. suggest maybe keeping a diary of your home tests? Jot them down on paper, maybe even make a note if there was anything stressful, worrisome that happened around that particular time...so if it is elevated at some point, and lower the other times, he/she can see there was a reason. I honestly wouldn't worry, just keep doing the fabulous job you're doing and wait to see what your next appointment brings.
Voodoo, YES YES and YES! I do know what you mean about eating, I tend to feel the need to eat something junky right after dinner, no matter if my dinner was healthy or junky in itself. I don't find myself 'stress eating' but more along the lines of, I just love the taste of food...I can honestly admit that alot of times, I don't eat because I'm hungry, I eat because I want to taste it. I should just start chewing and spitting it out, lol...JUST kidding! Today's been an odd day for me, I'm on day 2 of the wendie plan and so the pts are alittle more elevated...it started out good, but got weird tonight when my son remembered my promise of pizza....I'll stay w/in points but I ddint' get any oil/milk or all my veggies/fruit in...which is my fault. My lunch was supposed to be a salad, but my Dr. ran late w/our last patient and a conference call I had scheduled came too soon, so I threw the salad thought away (no time to go get it) and had a 1pt bagel and cream cheese....ok, 2 bagels! :) worked all afternoon and then pizza...which I was starving at this point....below is my day, on point...but not following the healthy guidelines.
B: muffin 2pts
L: bagel/cream cheese 2pts fruit 2pts
S: bagel/cream cheese 2pts 4mini tootsie rolls 2pts
D: pizza 14pts :( (funny thing is, I was NOT stuffed..I was still hungry but I stopped before it was a 21pt dinner!)
Snack later: popcorn/oil 3pts
2pts left....not sure what I'll use them on, maybe a milk and another fruit to get me to feel less guilty.
Onederland HERE I come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't even count up points yesterday. Just ate and drank wine. I am having such a hard time sticking with WW this summer. I wish I could give myself a good swift kick in the butt. We went (sans children) to see Nickel Creek. They were awesome. The lead guy was pretty much a virtiouso mandolin player and the girl had a really cool voice. The played a lot of different types of music to keep things interesting. I ate salads and a sandwich and some baked potato chips, but also had huckleberry cheesecake and split a bottle of wine with my DH.
I get in to this mindset - where since the week is already ****, I might as well just start over Monday, but that leads to a weekend of overeating. We have concerts the next 3 nights, the last of which has a free wine tasting with 40+ different wineries. Despite the temptations that lie ahead, I am making a fresh start today, so that maybe I can hold steady on Monday's weigh in instead of gaining.
Today: leftover baked potato chips (1), cream in coffee (2), oatbran cereal with blueberries x 2 (4) = a 7 pt morning
Lunch: Apple (1), chicken (3), wheat thins (3) = 7 pt lunch
more wheat thins ~ evil little crackers (3)
m&m's (4), cereal (4)
25 points so far

Morrigan, you know I get into those same issues. To look back at my weeks on WW cracks me up sometimes. But, this is the longest I have ever stuck to any eating plan. I attribute this to 1)my working out and 2)not being so darn strict. If I want to have some "off" weeks, then so be it. I figure the longer this takes me (weeks a bit up with weeks down), the more likely I am to keep those nasty pounds off. I know that people have very different opinions about this, but I also step on my WW digital scale EVERY morning after I pee. It scares the heck out of me when I start to see a 2 pound gain in one week. Without checking the scale, I would be more likely to spiral downward. I know that some people just don't think it is good to do that. However, I have also read that several people who have kept off over 50 pounds for over two years all weigh on a daily basis. It is my reality check. And you know that quote that I love.........."A failed attempt discarded is a step forward." I feel this is so true whether it be a bad day, week, month, or summer. Ok, I will step down now.
Breakfast
oatmeal 3pts

I am going to go eat now. I feel as though I could chew my arm off.
I am off to get a 2pt frozen yogurt. I am addicted to this stuff. :)

Hey everyone!! breakfast-dry honey nut cheerios/orange=5 pts. lunch-lean cuisine/all bran cereal bar/orange=8 pts. snack-ff pringles/minute maid frozen limeade=2 pts. dinner-lean cuisine=5 pts. 20 pts. total for the day. I will probably use the rest of my pts. on a snack. I rode my exercise bike 20 miles. I weighed and I did lose 1 lb. I was glad about it, but I can feel that I am so not as into all this as I was. I keep trying to remind myself of the big picture, but it is getting harder and harder everyday. I have to force myself to do ww and exercise for the past week. Everything has been coming so easy for me for the past 3 months or so. It all started with a pk of m&m's!! I refuse to give up now, but I sure am weak. Anyway just had to get that off my chest. Thanks for listening.

Hi all...
I am starting fresh tomorrow. This week has been such a waste...I counted points maybe what, one or two days? Yesterday was the calling hours & today was the funeral, so I pretty much just said screw it...I don't really care what I eat. So tonight I had three pieces of pizza w/pepperoni, bacon, and onions, two moz sticks, and a pretty big piece of cake. Soooo I'm just going to start my week tomorrow, and be on the Wendie plan. This week proves how much of a stress eater I am.
My goals for the upcoming week are to stick to my points and to get to the gym at least 3 times.

I can totally relate to the comments regarding having slip up days, because you know this is a lifelong change, and you'll undoubteldy have those days for the rest of your life, heck, even those weeks!! Like I've said, Sometimes it feels like it's taken so long to lose the 18 I've lost, but I'm not feeling deprieved, or like this is something I cannot do much longer. I know I have to keep this up forever, or end up exactly where I was, or larger! My grandma did WW many many years ago, prob. 30 and she is a firm believer in weighing herself daily...she see's the scale go up and she gets right back into a better eating plan until it goes down. Cracks me up when I talk to her, she's in her mid 70's and is so obsessed, but...she looks good and is healthy!!
I have to share...At work today, we had a large shipment of supplies, so I was helping unload. One box was quite heavy, I couldn't hardly life it, as it was awkward...so I pulled it down the hallway. Mid-way, I wondered...how much does this weigh? I put it on our baby scale and it was 37lbs!! Mind you, I'm down 34.75 lbs since my heaviest last year....I CARRIED THAT BOX AROUND ALL THE TIME ON MY BODY! What an awesome feeling to know, I lost THAT! It made me very proud of myself.

Hi everyone:
Haven't posted in a few days, been really busy with the children. Was helping my daughter yesterday with getting curtains up in her apartment and getting things together. I didn't post because I didn't track totally.
Snowgirl Thanks for the encouragement about the cholesterol. My mother has high cholesterol too and she weighs all of 90lbs. So it runs in my family too. But I'm hoping that when I make my fall appointment I will be down within the limits. My good cholesterol is high too which is a good thing. And I hope I look and feel younger when I lose the weight. I'm 48 and most people tell me I look like I'm in my 30's. So I wonder what the weight loss will make me look like.
Thanks also to everyone on this thread...so honest and encouraging!
Today:
B/1 Lite Bagel 2 pts; 1 Egg 2 pts; 1Tbl. Lite Butter 1pt - 5 Total
L/Turkey Meatloof (not sure of points...have to count it up)
I'm starting back to play tennis on Monday. I stopped for a while because I slightly tore my good calf muscle. Hopefully with the walking I've been doing it will be in good shape. It takes so long for the calves to heal because we are always on our feet. So the only thing you can do is rest them. Wish I could play more often too. Will post rest of diet later.
It is so beautiful here today. Have a great day everyone!
Snack-cin toast crunch-9 (ouch! not worth it!)

Yikes, that only leaves me 4pts for the dinner and the rest of the night. Hmmm...guess I had better figure out what to make. I was planning on starting the Wendie plan today, but I guess I won't. There's no way I can stick to the 26pts today, and I know that if I decide to re-start my week tomorrow instead of starting it today, I'll really overeat tonight.

Today was my super high day on the wendie plan, I got 39 pts today...I pre-planned and decided to indulge in what I've wanted most, a jr. whopper! Now, it's 10:30 at night, a full 10 hours since I ate it, and I've felt sick ever since...my body definitely does not want these things anymore!
B: slim fast/banana/oil 6pts

D: subway 11 pts
S: apple with pb and a muffin 5pts

They were in our town earlier this year. Covered a guy who adopted his daughters kids after she died of an early heart attack. They didn't mention in the show he had also been arrested recently for DUI and possesion. The other thing that was weird is they didn't mention the town we live in at all - it was all about the house. Of course, it is the only time I have ever actually watched the show in my life, so I didn't realize how it worked.
All the time - materials - donations etc... came from the local community. The extreme TV guys just show up, coordinate, and film. All the free materials, labor, etc was provided by local contractors. It takes a lot for a community to put together that kind of effort and money. I had sort of thought before hand that the show just comes in a builds a new house for people, but it wasn't like that at all. The community did it.
I have been totally off program for a week again.
This morning I was going to be good, then wasn't, then thought I would try starting over tomorrow, and realized with that mentality I could eat way too many points today. So I am going to try to be good the rest of the day.
Breakfast: oatbran and coffee (4)

Hey everyone!! I am beginning to feel better now. Yesterday I went over my points by 6 or so, but I had not used any of my extra 35 allowance pts. so I guess I did ok. It definately could have been worse, due to the way I have been feeling. Someone from work made me some peanut butter fudge. I ate 2 small pieces and I told my daughter to go give it to my neighbor because I couldn't keep it in the house. So I was proud of myself. I definately could have eaten it all. So far today I have had 12 pts. Oatmeal/banana/grapes=6 pts. smartone/greenbeans/ff chips=6 pts. I sneak peak at the scales almost everyday to keep myself on track, even though I know I am not supposed to and I am weighing between 170 and 171. So until my official weigh in I will stick with 171. Paige I am glad you only had 1 bad day. And you got yourself right back on track, that is awesome. It is so hard I know. But we can do this!! Melloyan, I am supposed to start playing tennis on monday too. I really never played before. I am sure it will be fun and lots of exercise too. Ajsmommy, I know since I have been on ww I don't eat alot of beef anymore and when I do on occasion I always feel sick. Red meat is too many points and from what I have heard red meat makes you retain water too. My old ww leader told us not to eat red meat for a day or 2 before weigh in. But I can relate to wanting a jr whopper sometimes. At least you didn't get a whopper!! Morrigan, good for you for being good the rest of the day. You could have said you would get on board tomorrow, but you didn't, you chose to stick with it today!! It can be hard. And I am glad you are getting on track this week. You can do this, you have before and you will this time! It is funny how we can trick ourselves into messing our plan up, but it is really quite easy to do. It is so easy to say I'll do it tomorrow, or next week, or Monday. Anyway I will talk to you all tomorrow. Keep on working hard everyone!!

Apparently, this familys story is...The wife, 32yo is now widowed with 6 children. He was a local firefighter, and they purchased a "fixer upper" in the country, a 2 bedroom 1 1/2 ath 900 sq. foot home, on a really nice piece of property. The house was full of black mold. He died Christmas Eve last year, She was pg. with the 6th at the time....after one of the children started to fall ill, they attributed his death (the husband/fathers) to the black mold and condemed the house. Now the team is there, and they've rebuilt this house to a 4ooo sq foot house, and it was completely constructed in record time of 52 hours. By beating all other times, it gave, or will give the family 25k in cash. This is all hear say, so I don't know if everything I'm reading, or hearing is actual facts...Guess I will just have to wait for the show to air in the fall, like the rest of 'em. I am however, going to see the crew later, in hopes of some autographs. This is one of my fave. shows, no matter who's to credit for the rebuilding, it sure is heartwarming to know there are alot of people out there, that are willing to do good and help others out who are less fortunate. It makes me thankful for what I have, even if it isn't much. :)
B: slim fast/oil/banana 6pts
L: ham on a flat out w/lettuce, cheese and mayo 5pts, chips 4pts :(
S: 1pt ww bar

Monday Greetings everyone!
I did not make it back on the wagon yesterday, but am here today and doing better. I decided (definitively) to start back to the gym today, but then DD got sick ~ high fever, cough, snotty ~ and I only made it to the Dr.'s insead. I went to the WW meeting, but since it was my only free time of the day, I ditched and walked for 1/2 hour to get some exercise in. After a horrid week of not counting becuase I knew it would be ugly, I weighed in with a .2 lb loss. I sort of cheated, wearing lighter clothes than last time, but it wasn't intentional, as I was still in my workout clothes from my missed gym attempt.

Hi everyone:
I gained my 1lb back last week, but it maybe some water weight because we ate out a lot, even though I did try to watch what I was eating. So I'm not going to be too discouraged. I played tennis yesterday (first time since December and the calf injury). We tied up the set. My friend told me that I still had a strong arm and great serve. But I could tell I could benefit from a few lessons again. Today I'm sore all over. So it was a great workout too.
Hey everyone! I have to hurry up and go to class. I had 18 pts. today. I have 4 more to use. I am happy to say I weighed and I weight 169!!! I was thrilled to be out of the 170's!!! So my points will be 22 now. I was feeling low and tired of trying, now I am feeling much better!! Kelly, to ride 20 miles it takes me about 50 minutes. That is going about 34 mph. My tension is not set to where it is really really hard to peddle, but just a little hard. Have a great night.

Didn't get a workout in today - I really wanted to, but frittered the day away at the high school and at a baby shower.
Breakfast: cliff bar at 2am (2), oatbran cereal (2), creamer (1)
Snack: pork dunked in mustard (3)
Salad: with dressing (4), craisins (1), and walnuts (5)

the good part: I only ate my own salad at the baby shower instead of the piles of cream puffs, brownies, cheese, dips, etc....
oops... I forgot the 2 glasses of wine (4), and and a bit of bread (2)
so I am already at 24 points and nothing for dinner
may just go to bed early and call it good

My eating today has been far from steller.
I had:
skim latte - 2pts
very large 1/2 veggie sandwich - 7pts (?)
small handful blue chips - 2pts(?)
1/2 oatmeal cookie - 2pts
1 cup cherries - 1pt
Pria 110 cal bar - 2pts
Lean Cuisine - 4pts
Skinny Cow ice-cream - 2pts
22 pts if I calculated lunch correctly. I didn't make very good food choices today. I'm guessing it's because I skipped breakfast. Tomorrow won't be much better because it's my anniversary and we're going out to dinner. I've already given myself permission to order whatever I want for dinner AND DESSERT. I'll work it off all week if I have to.

I'm trying hard to stop and think before I put something into my mouth, "am I hungry, or just continuing another bad habit?". Most often, I'm not hungry, so there you go!
I am having trouble using my points. Yesterday I did go over a couple, but that was a first. Up till then I've not used the 28 per day that I should, but I can't seem to make myself put something into my mouth now without being hungry. Any suggestions?

That is one habit, I cannot seem to break....after dinner eating. I ususally end up having about 5-6pts left for that time, which I desperately need to stop! I know I'm not hungry, but I feel like snacking at night...Most nights I use 3 for my popcorn w/oil to, but there is always that 2-3 that I use for things like chocolate (usually ww bars)...I heard that Oprah eats nothing after 6pm, I could not do a 6pm deadline, but maybe I should start alittle higher and work my way down in 1/2 hour incriments....Say, nothing after 9 to start, do that for a week, then 8:30 and work down to 7pm or something reasonable....
Today is WI, I've got a case of the nervousness today as I have a job interview after the meeting...
Wish me luck on both accounts! :)

Jennifer, good luck you you! Knock 'em dead!! That job is YOURS if you want it, so go let them know!
As for the eating after dinner, we normally eat at about 6, and I'm not done cleaning everything up till 6:30 - 6:45ish so I'm not even thinking of a snack until around 9 or so, then I think I'm not even hungry, it's just that darned habit sneaking up on me again! I just have to keep asking myself if I'm actually HUNGRY not! GOOD LUCK!

Thanks for the well wishes, I'm just waiting on my mom to get here to watch Austin so I can go :) I had WI this am, and I was down .75 which means I'm AT 200...not above, not below...It's almost comical how long it's taking me to get into ONEderland, I'm toying w/the same darn 5lbs for WEEKS. Next week though, I'm sure to get it!!!!!!!!! Whew!
I'll post more later on my day, and the interview *fingers crossed*

Congrats Snowgal, that is my ultimate goal as well but I am about 67 lbs away.
Yesterday was a good day:
B: 2 slices of light wheat (1 point)
2 tps blackberry jelly (0.5 point)
And the verdict is...I got the job!! (if I want it...) I'm still weighing all my options, I have until Friday to decide. I do love the job I'm at, love my co-workers and even love the Dr.'s. The pay isn't all great, and the hours (some late nights, weekends, some holidays), I work with children now, in pediatrics. This new opportunity is better pay ($2.00/hr more), no evenings, no weekends, no holidays, more hours (I only work 3 days a week now, as I cut my hours from 32 to 24 for the summer, so now I have Monday and Wednesday off) but I would be increasing my hours where I am anyhow to 4 days. This new job is Mon-Fri 8-5 and Friday 8-12. It's for an oncology office, which is definitely not children, it's older patients, primarily 60+ who have, or are being diagnosed with cancer. Definitely a change of pace. I know I would work well with the older patients, as I have always had a soft place in my heart for seniors, having taken care of my great grandma when I was younger. It's just the "fear of the unknown" that keeps me unsure, it's never easy to change jobs, just leaves you feeling uneasy until you get everything down pat.
I wish I had a magic wand that told me what to do, I guess I will just pray hard at it and hope the answer comes by Friday, and is what is right for me and my family :)
Thanks for listening!!

Hi Everyone!! I just joined TFC today after reading the wonderful logs everyone is entering. I am 39 and I'm interested in losing 40 lbs by March (the big 4-0). Can someone provide me with the caclulator/formula for figuring out points? Thanks! julie
morrigan
08-16-2006, 05:13 PM
I couldn't find the formula (it is probably a copywrite thing). If I remember correctly ~which is dubios~ it was points/50 - fiber/5 + fat/12 and you can't subtract more than 1 point for fiber.
If you are a fan of estimation, figure 50 calories per points with a little more or a little less depending on the fiber and fat count.
For example a high fiber - low fat 140 calorie snack would be 2 points, even though it is closer to 3 pts by the 50 rule. A 100 calorie peice of cheesecake will probably run you 3 points. The food portion of this website has a tool that does it for you (even better). Your best bet is to sign up for WW during free registration this fall, pay for one meeting (about $12) get all the info - and then quit with an entire set of WW material for the program.

Hi Everyone:
Well there is something to celebrate here. Great job Paula, all that riding is paying off. And Liz, what an awesome feeling to get into your wedding dress again. CONGRATULATIONS. Good for you too AJ's Mommy about getting the job and for just about getting into "onederland." It is difficult to know what to do. I always go with my intuition and gut feelings. Changes are not easy to make especially when you really know the people you work with and like them.
L/Chilli's - Asian Lettuce Wraps....(salad w/chix mostly) 5pts (about)
S/ Snack - 3 pts;
12 pts so far.
Steak for dinner, w/ salad and rice...I'll add it up, but I'm under my daily points.
I'm saving some for tomorrow night. My son turns 10 tomorrow night and we are taking him out for a pancake dinner and my daughter made a choc. cake. So I can't not have a slice of the cake, so I'm saving up the points and will walk for 1 hour tomorrow too. Sometimes I look in the mirror and think, "Will I ever reach my goal?" But I say to myself, yes...a day at a time.
Morrigan, is that free registration nation-wide? If so and you know when it is, please post! I think I may go see what they have to say and have an official weigh in! THANKS!

melloyan, I have those days too, where I wonder if I'll ever get there...but, even after 5 months, and only 20lbs...I don't feel discouraged, that's about a lb a week! That's a healthy way, and a way I know I can eat forever, not just a fast quick get me thin diet that I know I cannot do for long periods of time... We'll get there!! and we'll look fabulous doing it!
Today was an odd day eating wise, I didn't really put anything into my mouth until dinner...just with WI and then the interview, and a run to the grocery, I didn't have time, nor did I feel like eating, I think it was stresss.
B: none :(
L: none :(
S: I did manage to grab a couple handfuls of fritos throughout my day, healthy huh? 4pts
D: bratwurst (ugh!) 8pts, bun 2pts, baked fries 3pts, corn 2pts
1pt ww bar
popcorn w/oil 3pts
yogurt maybe?
That's 24 out of 24
Still contemplating a walk or something, so I may sneak some AP's in there...but I won't use them for food.

WW almost always runs a free registration period in the fall and in January to entice people during the two periods of time when they are most likely to start a diet. The leaders won't say when - I am just saying this from experience of doing WW on and off for years. I have joined 5 times and never paid a registration fee. Even if you did pay for registration, it is usually pretty cheap and you can get most everything at the first few meetings. I actually go to the meetings, but if you wanted to pay for all the materials - the online option isn't bad either.

Hey everyone! I had 11 pts. today until dinner time. I had such a crazy day. I was starving when I got home and I ate 3 pieces of pepperoni pizza and 1 pk of m&m's. I probably used 15 of my 35 pts. I did not exercise today because I was just too tired. I am a 2 year old teacher at a preschool and they were like a lot more energetic than normal today. I have 12 two year olds and they all go 12 different directions most days. So I guess chasing them counts as exercise. Lots and lots of exercise!! I love it though. Anyway I hope everyone has a great night.

I googled. You can call 1-800-651-6000 for information about promotional offers in your area.
Also - you can attend any WW meeting 1 time for free without signing up (as in they don't actually weigh you in). So you could show up, buy a bunch of materials - like the 2 books that have all the points values in them - and then leave. It will cost you about 8 bucks for the 2 books and you are all set.
I also called a friend who has done registration for over 20 years and she confirmed the fact that they run free registration a few times a year, they don't announce it, and it should be coming up pretty soon. Enter your address somewhere on the official WW website so you can get their junk mail as well since many promotions come that way.

Breakfast: coffee with creamer (2), oat bran cereal (3)
Snack: Garlic chicken (6)
11 points so far today
not a good point day
I had cracker munchies, but no crackers so I cut up a tortilla and stuck in under the broiler (2) and had some hummus on it (4)
Oh - and I ate two skinny cows in the car on the way home from the grocery store (5)
and had a bit more chicken (2)
so I have already had 24 points - I could really use a glass of wine -- and a whole weekend of rehearsal dinners, wedding festivities, and breakfast brunches in addition to having house guests
- oh and DD (2yrs) is on her 6th day with a high fever and DS (3yrs) just came down with the same thing yesterday - so while the rest of my family is busy helping and getting ready... I am in the quarantine house.
I had a horrid rest of the day - well eating wise at least.
poured a glass of wine (2)
ate a yummy chicken salad (4) with beans (2) and croutons (2), lets see 3 more ice cream thingy's (8)
I guess that was all - it seemed worse at the time.

Hi everyone:
Thanks for the encouragement AJ's Mommy...Paula, if I even start with the M&M's I just cannot stop, especially the peanut ones. Can't even have the stuff in the house. I'm such a M&Maholic. It is just awful.
Tonight is my trip to the pancake house with the family for my son's 10th birthday. I walked for 1 hour today too, so I earned 4 extra points. Tomorrow morning I'm due on the tennis court for an hour of singles, and that is hard work. So I hope it all balances out.
So far today:
B/ 1/2C Milk 1pt; 1 Lite Bagel 2pts; 1 Egg 2pts; 1Tbl Lite Butter 1pt - 6pts
S/1 Cup Grapes - 1pt
L/ 1 Lite Pita 1pt; 1 Lite Swiss Cheese 1 pt; 2 oz Ham 3 pts, tomatoes 0pts;
2 Cups of Lite Cheddar Puffs 3 pts - 7 pts
So that puts me at 14 pts. I'm going to use my 4 exercise pts today and some of the 35 pts extra we get every week.
Sunday is my 24th anniversary and my DH and I are going away for the weekend, so I will have to eat lots of veges with protein and stay off the bread and sauces when we are eating out. I'm not going to have any wine either. I think last week I had a few glasses with dinner plus the food when you eat out is heavily salted which caused my weight gain last week.
I'll check in tomorrow to let you know about my determination tonight.
I still have 14 pts left to eat for dinner (if you subtract the exercise points from todays total so far).
Hey guys'
I'm still at work but I wanted to let everyone know what my leader told us last night. Starting Sept 1 we can do a monthly bank draft for the fees and the fee are reduced to I think she said 9.22 a week. If you choose to pay this way it also includes the e-tools... COOL...
I will do this I loved the e-tool but couldn't pay for them and the weekly meetings.
I was only down .5 lbs :( My leader said I haven't been eating enough...???

Wow - today has been really hard. I figured it would be, but it's even worse than I thought. I guess I should have expected this after taking yesterday off from food journaling and allowing myself to over-indulge at our anniversary dinner last night. Ugh! At dinner time tonight I only had 3 points left due to my little hunger spasms during the day. I stayed on-point, but it almost killed me!

Hi all--I've been doing pretty good the last few days, but have been so busy I haven't had time to journal. I kept a mental running tally, so I don't think I went over in pts.
I saw the dr yesterday and was put on some meds for pre-diabetes and metabolic syndrome; the meds have a side effect of weight loss. My blood pressure was also 144/96; it is really unusual for me to have high blood pressure.
Morrigan-I feel your pain with the kids having high temps...I took my little dd (1 1/2yrs) to urgent care last night with a 105 temp. It was the second time yesterday that she spiked that high. She still is running a 103-104 temp this morning. My other dd (4 yrs) has developed a summer cold, and her poor little nose is bright red! I hope she doesn't get what the little one has.
Hope everyone is doing well!

Hello all:
Paige What is metabollic syndrome? And did they do a blood fast on you for the pre-diabetes? The only reason I'm asking is that my dh is a diabetic and I was wondering how your dr figured out that you had diabetes?
Played tennis today...I lost by 1 game, it was very competitive. But I felt great. The calves so far haven't given me any trouble.
Last night we went to the pancake house I got 4 crepes w/marmalade jelly...so I'll say 7pts and a piece of homemade choc cake say 10pts. So my total points yesterday were 32 and earning the 4 ex. pts came down to 28, so I don't think I did too. I will post today's eating later.
Paula, I'm going to mix up my exercising this year a bit with some tennis, walking, biking and light strength training. Maybe I can bike as far as you do. Does it take you about an hour?
You know the phrase "Stop and smell the roses"? Well, I think a better one would be "Stop and smell the brownies"! Lily had a brownie this afternoon and I couldn't help it, I just had to stand there and smell it - took a good 'ol wiff, savoring that yummy, chocolatey smell with all of my being. How insane is that?
I'm having another really difficult day today. I wonder if all of this is from my anniversary dinner and not counting points for the day, or if it's something else. I weighed myself this morning and I'm up 2 lbs. <sigh> I just don't get it. I've made my goal. Why is it still so dang hard? I should be enjoying things now, not worrying.

Today was a weird day for me as well, I think the next week will be very challenging as we have family in from VA and they have plans for us every day, then we go on vacation to Ohio w/them to a water park and amusement park...I'm hoping to hold back on over-indulging.
B: 1c. dry fruit loops 2pts
L: chicken/lettuce/bbq sauce 5pts cookie 3pts
D: Arbys ham/cheese 7pts, yogurt 3pts, 1/2 sm. frie 4pts
S: slim fast w/oil 4pts

cottage cheese and tufu (2)
wine (5)
skinny cow (2)
pasta with chicken (8)

Morrigan, thanks for the info! I will register on the WW website to get all the emails and see what happens!
It's been a crazy week here as my 11th and 8th grade kiddos went back to school on Tuesday....OMG it's too early in the year for that!
I've still not had an official weigh in other than the dreaded doctors scale on August 8th. I have been very conciencious, though, and not went over my daily points since that date. Oops, I take that back, I did go over 3-4 points one day a week ago but thought that the flex points would take care of that, right? I've not used any other flex points or activity points. Also, I'm very happy to say that I started walking - at a pretty brisk pace - on the 8th as well and haven't skipped a day. I've upped my distance twice so far and am almost at 2 miles per day.
Today I dug a body sculpting video w/resistance bands out of the back of the closet. I purchased this set a couple years ago when I was going to give it a half-hearted attempt, and never even took it out of the box. Well, times have changed! Starting this afternoon, I'm going to try to work this into my daily exercise, wish me luck!
Have a good day, all, and I'll try to post points this evening!

Had a yummy dinner tonight and wanted to share the recipe.
Thai Turkey Stew - 5pts per generous 1 cup serving
Pre-heat the over to 400 F
- 1 (13.5 Oz) can light (reduced-fat) coconut milk
- 2 Tbsp. light brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp reduced-sodium soy sauce (I use regular)
- 1 Tbsp Asian Fish Sauce (looks like an oil, comes in a small bottle in the
section of your grocery store where they have Chinese sauces)
- 2 tsp. Thai Curry Paste, hot or mild or 2 tsps curry powder
Wisk all the above together in a 3-quart baking dish with a lid.
- 1 lb skinless boneless turkey breast, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 (1 lb) cauliflower, trimmed and cut into florets
- 1 whole onion, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 yellow bell pepper, seeded and chopped
- 1 bag fresh spinach
- 1 cup fresh shelled or frozen peas, thawed
Mix all these veggies & the turkey into the sauce in the baking dish. Cover
and bake until Turkey is cooked through. (about 65min) Can be done on stove-top as well.
After taking it out of the oven, mix 2 tsp of cornstarch with a Tbsp or so
of the juices in a small dish, mix until smooth and then gently stir into
the baking dish. Let stand for 5 minutes and serve.
It’s only 5 pts for a “generous 1 cup serving”!! I served it over steamed
new potatoes, sliced … that added another 2 pts per serving.

Well, the world knows!
Today was my work party and I did really well....
B: muffin 2pts
Party: chicken on a bun w/lettuce 5pts, fruit 1pt, 1 bite potato salad, 1 bite beans 2pts (seriously, it was like a tablespoon each)
I came home and I was starving, lol...and fruit loops sounded so good so...
1c. cereal w/1c. milk 4pts
I have 10 pts left...I know I'll have popcorn and oil, that's 3...and I need more fruits and veggies so I'll incorporate them somehow.

I weigh 298 so I think I can have 31 points per day.
B: 1 whole bagel, 2 tbsp. strawberry cc, (4)
L: WW ravioli florentine (5), 1 cup sweet tea (3)
D: 2 chicken breasts, two 1 cup salad both with 2 tsp. dressing, Dr. Pepper (13)
S: 1 1/2 cottage cheese, 2 tbsp. seasame seeds (2)
So my total is 27. Does that look right??

:wel3fc: kcsmom!!
It's hard to tell you exactly if your points are on target, without knowing more information on some of the items you had...
My advice on what to buy, even if you don't necessarily want to join WW, is go to one meeting....and get the week 1 book they give you, and if you can, purchase the dining out companion and complete food companion. The books will run you approx. $9.00 ea. and the 1st meeting is roughly $15.00.
Bagels run high in points, as does full fat cream cheese...however, I don't know if what you had was full fat, or red. fat... 3oz of chicken is 3pts, lettuce is zero, more pts there if you had anything added on your salad, red. fat dressing is roughly 1-2pts for 2tbsp...so not sure what you had there, diet pop is free. I don't eat cottage cheese, so I have no idea how many pts there.
Don't forget to follow the healthy guidelines, get at least 64oz of water a day, 5 fruits/veggies, 2 calcium (any milk product that is 25% or more calcium counts as a milk, ex: yogurt, cheese, milk, ice cream, etc.) and 2 tsp. of healthy oil a day.
Make sure you eat your minimum points allowed each day, don't eat under thinking you'll lose weight faster, that is not the case, and our bodies are smarter than we give them credit for.
We all wish you luck and are here for any and all questions, comments and concerns. I do want to share another site with you, that has alot of information that may help www.dwlz. com I find myself there quite often when I have questions :)
Good Luck!!!!!

It is hard to tell without seeing your portion sizes. Chicken breast is about a point an ounce, but I have seen 4 oz breasts and 10 oz breasts depending on the size of the chicken. Same with Bagels - they come in all different sizes. If the 1 1/2 by cottage cheese is cups then it is about 6 points because lowfat cottage cheese is 2 points per 1/2 cup.
Good tip: you can buy a food scale at superstore much cheaper than at a WW meeting.

I have completely abandoned any semblence of dieting over this weekend of weddings, wine and guests. I even got up at 6am and made my DH's best friend cinnamon rolls for breakfast. He confessed that on our 2 weeks at the ocean this summer he gained 10 lbs. That was me (nearly) last summer.
So today I feel like crap. I can't decide if I am catching my kids flu or if TOM is just a bit worse than usual.
Today I had cinnamon rolls (?), eggs (2), oatmeal (1), cheese quiche (?), gazpacho (1), and tofu stir fry (11) - they day would have gone fine minus making rolls for our friends and stopping by the present opening wedding brunch for quiche. No idea on the points - starting fresh again tomorrow. I am guessing I was in the 50-60+ point range for the last 3 days between wine, wedding cake, and cinnamon rolls.
Tomorrow is weigh in and hopefully the first day of a real workout routine. At the least it will be the last week in August to get myself back in line for a net weight loss for the month.

Hello Everyone:
Welcome kcsmom76. I have all the tools for WW, but I have been doing it myself pretty successfully so far. I find more support here talking and sharing and posting our daily food intake than I did at the meeting. I also got an e-mail today that you can purchase as many visits as you want to for approximately $9.00 a week with free registration and the use of e-tools. I might try it to see if I use the e-tools.
Does anyone use the e-tools on this thread; and how do you like it?
Anyway, I survived the weekend. My DH and I had a great weekend celebrating our 24th anniversary. I did indulge on a few things, but kept the portions small. And working out hard last week also paid off in no weight gain. So I lost the 1lb I gained from the week before and lost .6lb this week, in spite of all the partying. So this week I'm determined to lose at least 1.5lbs to get back on track with 1lb a week. I will post later today's diet.
Morrigan, I hope you are feeling better. It sounds like you have had a full week with sick children and the wedding. But sometimes it goes like that. I have two more weekends coming up of celebrations. My mother's birthday party and my brother's 50th. So there will be lots of food, wine, etc. Isn't it always the case when you are trying to stay on track and lose the weight.
:carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot:
I did it!!!!!!!!!
I just got back from Curves, and I was weighed and measured there...I'm down 32.25 inches, 27lbs and 18.6lbs of body fat.....
Which means I'm now officially in ONEDERLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm 198 :D
I am on :cloud9: and want to thank you all for the support and advice, This was goal #1 for me, now we're on to 10lb incriments until I feel satisfied that I'm where I need to be.

I tried not to do too bad over the w-end, but I took a little break. I didn't journal or count. I hope I didn't gain. Dh was off work and it's really hard for me to stay op around him. I'm really not using him as an excuse...Oh yah I am..:( .
Today is a new day.
B-yogurt, orange 2
L- lean gourmet meal 5
canteloupe 1
Dinner is planned to be veggies only. Dh and youngest son loves it, but oldest son will do something else... oh, well. His idea of veggies is a fully loaded baked potato.

Lets all do a happy dance for AJ's mommy!
:dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer:
I couldn't figure out flowers, but here are some :balloons: as well.
After all the wine and cake I still ended up with a loss. I am now 186 even.
I would just like 3lbs a week for the next two weeks and out of the 180's for good.
I started the morning with a 2 mile walk and have been good today. My cousin and I were talking to much during the meeting (along with everyone else) so we left and went to lunch instead. Usually we talk quietly in the back, but everyone else was talking su much we couldn't hear the leader.
Today: latte (2), latte (2)
Lunch: gazpacho (3), sandwich (9)

Happy day today! This morning was the first access I've had to a scale since I started WW on my own exactly two weeks ago....well, alone except for all of you guys!:D Anyway, I hopped on the scale in the bathroom at school (the nurse has the big official kind in there) and guess what? Down 9 pounds! :carrot: Yippee!!! I was wondering if I'd made any progress, and now I know that the water, walks and counting are all worthwhile!
Here's my tracking info for today:
Breakfast: scramble 7pts
Lunch: grilled shrimp & veggies, salad at Red Lobster 10pts
Snack: mini rice cakes 1pt
Dinner: beef, veggies, rice 8points
Total 26 points, 2 more to go!:D

Hey everyone! I was kind of bad this weekend. Not nowhere as bad as I could have been, but not good. I am back on track today. My daughter had her 19th birthday this weekend. I had steak/baked potatoe/cake/ice cream. Butter on the potatoe/full fat sour cream/small piece of cake/birthday cake ice cream. The only thing is that I had cake/ice cream on Sunday too!! Larger quantities Sunday too. Oh well, such is life. I am back today. I have another daughters bday this weekend!! I am saving most of my points for the weekend. I did not do any exercise sat or sun. I was rebeling I guess. Ajsmommy, omg!!! I am soooooo happy for you!!! Words cannot describe!! It really keeps you in check when you see results like that!! Way to go!! You are doing great!! Keep it up. One of my friends told me today that I looked very skinny today!!! I had bought a new shirt at Wal mart that I wore today. After work I went and bought 2 more shirts like it, but different colors!!! It was a nice compliment. And it made me feel really good about myself. Because I have been working sooooo hard for almost 4 months. It was nice for someone to notice, besides my husband. Boaters wife, 9 lbs!!!! Great job!!! I know you are soooooo happy. WW does work, you just have to stick with it. It is a whole lifestyle change. I am soooo happy for you. 9 lbs. is a good loss!!! Actually it is a great loss!!!! Morrigan, is your little one better?? I hope so. I work in daycare and lots of kids have been going home with fevers and etc. Today I have had 17 pts. I have 4 more pts. left and I will probably use them for a snack. I rode my exercise bike 20 miles today and thats it for me. Sorry I have rambled on so much. Oh ajsmommy don't forget to change your tracker!!!!

Thanks!!!
I came home and told my hubby and he was all excited, lol...but when he saw that I still won't wear them, he got all goofy like.....I told him I need WW to tell me I'm under 200 first, haha...so until Wed. I will not wear them...it's almost comical, I worked so hard and I still won't reward myself. Now I need to think of another reward for 189 :D
I was at Meijer last night w/hubby and our son and we ran into one of Austin's friends mom, she was in awe of how I looked...asked how many lbs I've lost, that is such a compliment when friends notice, or anyone else besides your family..She couldn't believe I'm down 37lbs! (Don't forget, I only started my tracker number here when I started WW, not my total number from when I started dieting w/Curves first) I can relate pacemom :) Makes you want to wear exactly what you have on, over and over!!!! Unfortunately I wear scrubs everyday, the most unflattering clothing imaginable! So ppl at work can't see what's hiding underneath, they just see me weigh myself every Tuesday:D
Time for bed, we just got in from a Tigers Baseball game and I'm whipped!

Hello everyone:
Congrats to AJ's Mommy...doesn't it feel wonderful to have accomplished your goal. So very, very happy for you.
I'm having another birthday party for my son (just his friends at this one). So I'm not having pizza, the usual, but I'm going to stick to my diet and be good. I'm serving hamburgers and hot dogs, but I'll probably eat a veggie burger (they are only 1pt). That way I can have a little cake too. I went and bought some things to make a pizza brownie pie and yes I bought the M&M's. I put them on the counter last night and kept looking at them to open them. But I didn't and today I'm glad I didn't. I don't also have that much strength.
D/4oz Chix with 1C Wheat pasta 7 pts
Skinny Cow Ice Cream Sandwhich - 3 pts....20pts
I also ate a few crackers in there with some pb on them...I'll say 4pts
So I stayed on track 24pts total
Also does anyone know how many points continuous heavy house cleaning adds up too. It rained here yesterday so I cleaned from 9-3...like a summer/early fall clean.
Hey guys,
I stuck to the veggie dinner..good except for the fried potatos with onions.
Still have my headcold but feeling better.
I forget to tell ya'll my pts goal is 26
B-WW yogurt, orange 2
L-lean cuisine meal, sf jello 6
S-Orange 1
I'll post dinner, (that I don't have a clue what we are having) later.

Breakfast of champions: ice cream at 3:30 am (5)
I am going on day 10 of sick kids. DD (2 yrs) has thrown up 5 times between 3 am and 10 minutes ago.
Right now I am cooking tofu stir fry (8)
Then saving myself for dinner. No workout today though with a sick kid. I need to get going on birthday preparations myself. DS has a birthday on Friday the 22nd and I have a home football game that night. I told him we could have his birthday party at the football field in the park or that we could have it here earlier in the day - at which point he started bawling and doesn't want me doing football (I take stats for the high school team ~ there is no better view of a than football from the sidelines in front of the players). I am sort of picturing a pinata and take out pizza in the playground behind the football field - hopefully I can talk him into it.
more ice cream (5) - total of 18 so far today
1/2 cup dry cheerios (1) - total 19
part of DD's pbj (3), kashi with milk (4), creamer with coffee (2)
28 point day
then a total eating frenzy at bedtime - this is what inevitably happens when I use up all my points be 2pm and try to skip dinner
chicken breast (4), wheat thins (3), hummus (3), pbj (2)
42 point day

S: banana w/choc chips and raisins 5pts

Tomorrow is WI, and immediately afterwards we're heading out of town for 3 days to an indoor waterpark hotel and then to Cedar Point Amusement Park...so I won't be posting for a few days. I wish everyone luck in the upcoming days, we can do this...Everyone is doing so well and the motivation and success we're seeing is proof it IS possible. I'm so glad to have this group to share with. I have some challenges ahead of me, with a vacation and all the temptations...My goal is to stay the same,. I think for the most part I can make decent choices at the hotel, we plan to bring some of our own food....even at dinners out I can manage, the hard part will be at the amusement park on Friday...as most "hot dog" stands don't sell salads. I will drink the water faithfully, and do the best I can...Dippin' dots, corn dogs, fried foods...NONE of them taste as good, as thin will feel :)
See you Saturday!

Hi there everyone. I told you I was still lurking around here, and I have been. I had weigh in tonight. I am down 2.4. This was after missing last week due to not feeling well. I have still not been on program, but have been making good choices. Proof that there will be life after goal. I have still been getting on my scale every morning. Will do that the rest of my life.
I hope to get back to tracking tomorrow. I only have 24 more pounds to goal. I know tracking will be a huge part of how I get there. I promise you will all hear from me tomorrow. Still not feeling well. I am dizzy more often now. I am SO tired!!! Last night went to bed at 8:30. Sleeping great all night long. Just dragging arse. Had blood drawn yesterday with a follow up apt with my Dr on Sept 13. Hopefully all is normal. Also got a blood pressure monitor today so I can see if it is getting too low now that I am on the meds.
CONGRATS to everyone for losing!!! Special kudos to AJsmommy for getting into "the bag" You go girl!!!!
Until tomorrow...........==Amy

It is so scary having health problems - I wish for everything to turn out for the best.
Tracking (and staying within points) is going to be key for me. I need to pace my points throughout the day so I don't use up too many early on (like yesterday). I am going to start getting busy as well. Next week school starts. I start my Masters the week after. We have class on Wednesday and Thursday, and then football on Friday - so 3 nights in a row I won't be home.
I hope DH survives the next few years. I still have to find some way to pull the tuition money out of a magic hat. We just found out the kinderkamp seasons passes for the kids are going to be $1800 (for both) - and all so I can free ski, because otherwise we don't do daycare. I am thinking about not taking Anna - but she is old enough to ski this year, so we will probably just bite the bullet and do it.

Feel better after fessing up to my extra points last night. It is evenings like that that have caused me to occasionally abandon couting for the rest of the week. And Tuesday is a bit early to throw in the towel. Silly, I know. The perfectionist in me would rather not diet, than admit to going over my points.
Breakfast: Creamer (1), and oatmeal (3)
Lunch: chicken (6), salad (o) feta (1), dressing (1)

wheat thins (3) - 15 point total
pbj(9), wheat thins (3), DS's leftover spaghetti (10)

Back here as promised yesterday. I had three low fat Graham crackers for breakfast 3pts. I went and worked out. My trainer is on vacation for a week, so I did not burn many calories. 277 is all. I normally burn over 500. Was out of coffee this am. So after the gym I hit Starbucks with my son, my workout buddy and her son. We got food!!! UGGGG I had the reduced fat banana chocolate chip coffee cake. Does this sound like an oxy-moron to anyone other than myself??? I am going to try to figure the points for it. I am determined to track today.
Morrigan, I am trying to start back at school this semester. I registered online for Northern Arizona University. They start Monday. I have not even been accepted yet. I may have to wait until next semester. We will see. I know what you mean about pulling the money out of a hat. I was thinking of another three letter word. :D
Gonna go check on Starbucks points and shower. Need to get my house ready for the Girl Scout parent meeting here tonight. Why do I do all this??
Have a great day!!!!

OMG OMG OMG!!! If I am going to be on program I am going to be on program. I looked up my info on my "reduced fat" choc chip banana coffee cake I indulged in. It was TEN POINTS!!!!!! I could have had half of my cold stone creamery ice cream for God's sake!!! UGH!!!! Next time I will pass. Good news is that I had black coffee with it. Sheesh!!!!
So, I am at 13 pts so far. YUCK!!
The cookie thing was right about the computer. It did a self clean type of thing a few days ago. I just don't know how this stuff works :^:
Lunch will be
hot pastrami with mustard on light bread 2pts
2oz kettle bakes 2pts
The lunch meat I have been buying is Hillshire farm in the little glad ware type container. I LOVE them. The ham is great!!!
boaterswife
08-23-2006, 08:48 PM
buffalosister, that is the same lunch meat I've been buying for years, before I knew it was about the best stuff out there for you! It was like a bonus when I was shopping this week and comparing meats and found the one the kiddos like the best is the one I should be buying anyway....SCORE!!
Today:
Breakfast english muffin w/jelly 3pts, yogurt 2pts
Lunch Hillshire farms ham & mustard on ww wheat bread 2pts,
applesauce 2 pts.
Snack mini rice cakes 2 pts.
Dinner 2 eggs 4pts, bacon 4 pts, 2 pancakes from ww cookbook 2pts
Water...about 60-70 oz. so far today
Total so far, 23 points. I'm not sure about how this is happening! I try not to eat after dinner, but the last couple days I'm way low on points yet I feel like I'm eating all the time! Any suggestions?

Boaterswife-maybe you can substitute your bread back to non WW bread. Try to eat the same stuff, just beef up the points value of what you eat. Throw some mayo on the bread at lunch?? If you like. Not sure. I don't normally have a problem getting all my points in. I am usually over if anything. :^:
Speaking of being over, I am getting pizza tonight since I have the Girl Scout meeting here. I will be a few over for the day. Oh well!! I will be ok. :)

I'll give that a shot, buffalosister! I don't want to snack (although I have the past two days) because I feel like that was part of my problem to start with....a couple bites of this, a little of that....you know what I mean! At the same time, however, I don't want to be so low on my points that when I do make goal, and I WILL make goal, that I have to survive on almost nothing to maintian!

Hi Everyone,
Well, we had the birthday party yesterday for my son's 10th with about 14 kids here and 6 parents (including my siser-in-laws). The kids had so much fun. I rented one of those water slides. The kids were in it all day. I served veggies with french onion dip (not non-fat) and lowfat wheat thins with spinach dip (also not low fat). Also served fruit salad and my special green salad. I was running so much that I didn't really eat much. I think I had a slice of pizza for lunch, with salad, a bite of my son's birthday cake, a few choc chip cookies and 2 small pizzas as left overs for dinner last night. It was a whirl of a day. So I didn't track on paper. Just tried to be modest about what I was eating. Today and tomorrow I will be very stingy with the points. I also have my mom's birthday party to go to on Saturday. August is a busy month here. So if I didn't lose this week, I hope at least I've maintained.
I was also thinking about school too and wondering where the money will come from. I've worked as legal secretary for years and was thinking of a medical assistant. With paying for my older son's college tuition and my younger son's private school as well as all the other activities I don't know where I'll get the money.
I will post later. Hoping you all stay on track and congratulations to all who have been successful in your week. I've read all the posts before and you all sound like you are having a great week so far.
I had considered asking my parents - they offered to pay for little sis to go to law school (though she declined). But - I think I will try to muddle through on a payment plan with the University.
I totally overate yesterday - 52 points - that is like two days worth of food. I just had a long crappy day. Today DH took the day off and I left the house at 6am and won't be back until about 10pm. I am at school trying to get work done before we officially start back next week.

Hi guys! Hope your day is going well. It is odd weather here today. Woke up to very loud thunder. It has been drizzling but is still very hot. I could not turn the computer on earlier due to fear of "frying" it. Tons of lightening.
UGH! College tuition. I am worried about that. My oldest is 6, but Arizona state's tuition has doubled since my sister graduated in 2000. Can you say inflation??? I hope my kids get scholarships, but I shall not hold my breath.
Snacked on some pound cake left over from last night. Not healthy at all. I have major PMS. I want to eat nothing but bad food right now. Will check back later. Have a great day!!!

L - Leftover Chicken Parm & a few noodles 10pts, jello 2 pts
D - Cola chicken with rice and mixed veggies 7 pts, ww carrot cake for dessert 1pt.
28 on the nose, but it felt like too much fattening stuff. Funny how 18 days of ww can change your way of thinking! It's hard to believe that's all it's been, it feels like a long time!

Now, I am starving!!! I ate my son's left over pop tart 4PTS!!!

Breakfast - Wonder Lite Wheat toast w/jelly 2pts
Snack - dry fruit loops 2pts.
Lunch - Hilshire farms ham sandwich on WL bread 2pts, pretzels 1pt, 2 hershey's mini candies, 2pts

Anyway, 28 points.
Morrigan, I saw Kelly's post about all the popcorn, and I've used it, but my question is that I see some people post that they had "Popcorn with oil, 3pts." I'm wondering, do some people put olive or flavored oil on top of their popcorn to get the recommended amounts of oil per day? Just a curiosity thing!

buffalosister....It was official on Wednesday, I'm in ONDERLAND and enjoying the contents of the pink bag!!! :) Hubby said he'll take me today to get a few more pair ;)
melloyan, I went back to school in 2004 to become a Medical Assistant and I LOVE my job!! I have worked for a family practice, a pediatric practice and I recently was offered a job at an oncologist where I will start Sept 5th. It's a very rewarding job, helping people. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask :)
I'm the culprit who posts the popcorn with oil. One of the 8 healthy guidelines they preach to us, at our meeting is to get 2 healthy oils a day in. A serving is a tsp. and olive, canola, etc. are the ones they want you to use. I don't find joy, in putting something I cannot taste, into something just to get my oil in...so I found putting 2 tsp of canola oil, on my 100 calorie bag of popcorn...makes it feel like I'm eating movie theater popcorn...gives you the "this is bad for me" taste :D It was mentioned to try it, and I'm now addicted...If for some reason I don't do popcorn (which I never do on the night before weigh in) I will put a tsp in my yogurt. You can't taste the difference...or I add the oil into my slim fast/banana shake.
Hope this clarifys, and let me know if anyone tries it...It's YUMMY!!
P.S. My 100 cal bag is 1pt, oil is 1pt per tsp...I use 2...thats where I get 3pts :)

Thanks, AJsMommy, for the clarification:) ! I've been trying to figure that one out for the last week or two! And movie theater popcorn I absolutely LOVE, so if I can fake myself out that way, YAHOO! I read somewhere that the movie theater popcorn with butter on it is the fat equivelent of like 9 quarter pounders with cheese from McD's.....OMG!!!! No wonder it tastes divine!
Also, AJsMommy, every time I see your name I think of my own kiddos! I have a 16 year old AJ, so I'm not "mommy" anymore, I'm "Oh, Mom!!" hehehe!
Well, I'm off to a 1st b-day party for a niece, hoping I can control my love of ICING!:D

:D :D :D Thanks!!!!
Let me know if you try the popcorn w/oil, I swear by it, It's a staple in my house almost nightly...My son, who is Austin James, and now tells people he wants to be called "AJ" :) he'll sit down and say, "Is it time for popcorn yet?" I'm so glad he's conscious of what he eats, and will take popcorn, an apple or a yogurt over cookies, chips and candy. I wish as a child, my mom wasn't so non-chalant with those items...we lived across from a party store and it was nothing to go get a coke, a bag of chips and a candy bar. By no means am I blaming my mother for my being overweight, I just am thankful my son has learned from me, my new lifestyle. However, he is SO skinny...I cannot find pants that fit him, they all fall off, even w/the adjustable waistband....so sometimes I just wanna shove some candy down his throat ....haha..kidding of course.
Well hubby is unloading the $350.00 of food we got from SAMS, I better go help...that should be exercise in itself, some items are heavy :)

I did however make it to the gym Friday all by myself. Trainer is on vacation. I did 40 minutes on my own and burned just over 300 calories.
Anyway, I am off to buy birthday gifts for two of my son's friends. We have two parties tomorrow back to back. I will try to make good choices, but will be back on track Monday at the latest.
Have a great rest of the weekend.

Hey everyone! breakfast-all bran breakfast bar/yogurt=4 pts. lunch-lean cuisine/salad/ff pringles=8 pts. snack-ff pringles/light french onion dip=6 pts. I used 18 pts today. I used 20 of my 35 pts. on my daughters birthday cake and ice cream. I worked out a t Curves this morning for 30 minutes. I rode my exercise bike only 2 miles. I am going to try my hardest to ride it for another 8 miles. Anyway, I don't think I will probably have anymore birthday cake because it made me feel sick afterwards. Congratulations, Ajsmommy!!! You are doing awesome!!!! Everyone have a great weekend!

Hey everyone, it's late but we're finally home from our niece's 1st b-day party. I was hoping they would have a few fruit/vegetable items there, but no such luck. I think overall I didin't do too bad, but still would've liked a few healthier choices.
B - egg/vegetable scramble 5pts, 1 slice bacon 1pt
Party (lasted all afternoon & evening) Dollar-size sandwich 3pts, 1/3 cup potato salad 4pts, sliver of bday cake guessing 5pts, few crackers with spinich dip, no idea, probably 10pts, lots and lots of water!
28 total, if I'm figuring right on the cake & crackers
I did get home at about 10:00 and immediately changed into shorts/tank/tennis shoes to take my two mile nightly walk, so I feel better anyway after eating the dip!

Breakfast/Lunch (woke up late): slim fast/banana/oil 6pts
Dinner: Salad w/chicken, cheese, bbq sauce 7pts, grapes 1pt
Snack at the concert: soft pretzel 3pts
We just got home around 12am, and I was starving...stopped at the grocery store first and I got the ingredients to make a "smore"... Not too bad for 5pts, but definitely not something I'd use 5pts for often...it was late, I had the pts and it sounded yummy :)
Recipe:
2 Eggo Nutri-Grain waffles 3pts
1/3c. mini marshmellows 1pt
Hersheys lite syrup 1/2pt?
dollop FF cool whip 1/2pt?
Toast waffles, sprinkle w/cinnamon...place marshmellows on waffle..then pour syrup...may need to microwave a few seconds to get marshmellows soft....add cool whip, enjoy.

have been tracking as always, but have been too busy to post here. We go on vacation next week, so I am nervous. I am also nervous for weigh in monday because I had my tooth extracted, which has necessitated some changes in my diet that have had me quite a bit over in the last two days (33 yesterday and 31 today). The last two weeks i have pretty much stayed the same desipte staying on program, so this week i'm worried i'm going to gain. But, i'm terying to be reasonable and get nutrients in at the same time (takes more points to do it because i can't eat my freebie raw veggies.. or any veggies that aren't puree'd actually). I guess it'll be good to know what happens to my wieght on a week like this before i go on vacation.

Today is officially a stay-home in your jammies day at our house. We don't get a chance to do this often, with the hustle and bustle of lives these days...so I'm taking every advantage of it.
Hubby wants me to make these potatoes for dinner I used to make, pre-ww days...it calls for a packet of lipton recipe soup mix herb and garlic and oil...I wonder if I can substitute natural applesauce for the oil, in a recipe like this...I know for cakes you can, and I do..but for potatoes? Anyone have any idea on this? If all else fails, I'll make myself a different side dish.

Breakfast: oatbran cereal with blueberries (3), creamer (1)
Lunch: Smart Ones chicken santa fe (2), and santa fe rice and beans (6), over romain with some hot sauce - this is really good, by the way. I usually do it for dinner since it is 8 points, but I was hungry
pear (1), pbj bites (2), chicken (2)
17 points so far - no plans for dinner yet, but having a pool party this afternoon with snacks afterward that I will need to stay out of to stay on track.
roll up (1)
peach (1)
cereal with milk (3)
tofu stir fry (6)
Lunch:
gardenburger patty - 2 pts
1/2 c refried beans (no animal fat) with cheese - 3
1 c orange juice - 2
Snack:
low sugar lowfat yoplait yogurt-2 pts
Dinner:
oatbran with vanilla, cinnamon and splenda mixed in-2 pts
1.5 c peas-3 pts
2 oz tofu plus olive oil to cook it in-2 pts
so far 22 points which is my daily minimum according to weight watchers. I might have 1-3 points of dessert or snack later. No wendie plan this week because that would be too complicated on vacation. Actually after tomorrow, I may not even keep track of points, but I will be writing down my food. Alternately, i may do what I did the last two days and keep track of points but count up instead of down.

Hi All:
Well, I didn't have a successful week. I actually gained exactly 2lbs back that I lost. Had a lot of socials this weekend and had a few wine coolers. They are packed with calories. So I am feeling a little bloated. I also had two slices of birthday cake on Saturday. And I also didn't exercise last week. So hopefully I'll get rid of the bloat and get rid of these 2lbs and get back on track with everything. One more big party to go to in 2 weeks and then things are over until Thanksgiving. So hopefully I'll be down 10lbs more by then. That is my goal. And once my son is back in school and I am on a schedule, I'll stick to the exercise too. These last 2 weeks I'm frustrated with bouncing up and down on the weight loss/gain.:rollpin:

Hello Again:
AJ's mommy, did you go to school for 2yrs or did you take a certificate program? I have an AS Degree from 1978 and I'm thinking about the certificate program. Is there a difference in pay? Also I'm a little nervous about taking blood, is that a requirement too? It seems that there are lots of jobs out there for this field because the medical field is growing so much.
Thanks,

Melloyan,
I went to Ross Medical Education Center, it's a 7 month full time program and I highly recommend those type of schools. You get the same education w/out all the extra classes you really don't need. I'm not sure if there is a difference in pay, I'm thinking, at least where I live...a Medical Assistant is a Medical Assistant, regardless of where the education comes from, therefore we get paid roughly the same. I do know though, however...working in a more specialty office, will pay more. I am leaving my job at the pediatricans office, Friday is my last day and moving to an Oncology office and I'll be getting $2.00/hr MORE than the other.
When I was younger, I always wanted to be a nurse...but the thought of injections or blood draws scared the bejeebies out of me...so I went into the dental field and worked as an assistant for 5 yrs. Once we got married and had our child, I didn't work for several years...finally about 2 yrs ago, I thought enough already, just do it....so I bit the bullet and signed up for Ross, blood draws and all...I was alittle nervous at first, but to be completely honest with you.....Blood draws are my favorite thing to do! In the pediatric office I don't do them, we send them all to the hospital, but the oncology we'll do them alot, which is part why I wanted to swich too....
As with anything, you'll be nervous...I know I was, but it soon passed after my first successful draw...and now I'm one of the girls that others come to, when they need help...or ppl request because they know I'm good.
Let me know what you think/decide...and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask...you'll love it!!

Hi all...been pretty busy the last few weeks; haven't been tracking but have still lost a few lbs.
I have 12.5 left for the day. I did also go to the gym this morning, and earned 6 aps.
School starts back for me tomorrow. It will be interesting to see if I can get dd to the babysitters, get my other dd to preschool, and get myself to class on time at 9am! Thursday is even worse, as my class starts at 8am!
Hope everyone is doing well!

I have a question for anyone that does Curves...What do you count as your AP's earned there?? I've always counted 2, but my slider says it could be 4?? I'm alittle confused...
I didn't w/out yet today, but did run into Curves to weigh and see if I've lost any of the 5 I put on last week....I lost 1, so we're back on track and doing good.
B: fruit loops w/milk 4pts
L: ham on ww bread 2pts, 100 cal pack 3pts
S: apple w/cinnamon & sugar and some marshmellows 2pts
D: chicken/lettuce/bacon/ bbq salad 9pts & a dry breadstick w/butter 2pt

Hello everyone. Hope you are all having a great day. Mine is nice but not in a food sort of way. Woke up and skipped breakfast. Took DS to meet his preschool teacher. He starts there tomorrow. Wend to the gym. Worked out at a slow pace for an hour. I burned 319 calories. So, then I was ready to chew my arm off. I called my friend and after a shower met her at Peter Piper Pizza for the buffet. AHHHHHHHh~~ don't go to one when you are ravenous. I ate 5 slices of cheese pizza, salad with ranch, and three slivers of dessert pizza. So much for getting back on track today. I am at the end of Tom, so I hope to be back to normal tomorrow. Good news, scale this am said I am still at 179. Will close for now. Have a good night. I will check in tomorrow.

Breakfast-all bran cereal bar/grapes/banana=4 pts. lunch-lean cuisine/grapes=7 pts. dinner-lean cuisine=7 pts. My last 3 pts will be for a snack later. I worked out at curves and rode my exercise bike 10 miles. I bought a pair of capris today. Size 10!!! I am getting there, just slowly. Everyone have a great night.

Paula, thanks for the encouragement. My rings are tight too. I didn't have them when I posted previously.
AJ's Mommy...how did you do the 7 months full time and stay sane with studying and taking care of everyone at home? I'll have to find a school here in Mass. like you went too. Funny too that you wanted to be a nurse. I did too, but things scrared me too. My two older children are actually in nursing school. My oldest wants to become a nurse practioner. I told her to go for it.

melloyan,
The school I went to, was Monday-Friday 8:30am-1:00pm. My son was in 2nd grade that year, so it worked out well...I went to school when he did, and tried to study afterwards while he was still in school, which unfortunately, didn't happen often, as I met some wonderful friends there and we'd go to lunch nearly everyday, which attributed to my heaviest weight...Anyhow, I'd study at night, some "mods" were easier than others, and flash cards were my friend, I'd find time whenever I could, to study them. A "mod" is what they call their semesters..You learn a topic for a 4 week period, then you move to something else. They definitely cram alot into 7 months, but it is definitely manageable...I graduated top of my class. So to help reassure you for the blood draws and injections, you only have to do it for 4 weeks if you find a school like I went to :)
Here's a link for the school I went to

Morrigan...FABULOUS!!
Well, I finally made it to a real scale today and my total loss was 5# instead of 7#. Before I hopped on the scale, I thought "I'm going to be upset if it's not the amount that I think it is". But I got on, found out the correct amount, and realized I wasn't upset at all! I'm so happy with how far I've come in such a short time, and not just the pounds either. I'm happy with ME. I'm happy with the choices I'm making. So those two pounds? No big deal. I'll make them up over the next couple weeks and keep going!
Today:
Breakfast: english muffin with jelly 3pts, banana 2pts
Lunch: Hillshire farms ham sandwich on Wonder Lite bread 2pts, baked chips 2pts
Dinner: Smoked sausage/rice/mixed veggie concoction 6pts.
15 total for the day so far.....I think I'm going to go enjoy a skinny cow!

D: Smart one 4pts, corn 2pts
S: pb crackers 5pts
Then I induldged in a small snack bag of cheetos :( 4pts
I did go to Curves, so I'm only over by 2...but...WI is tomorrow am...and I still show a gain from my vacation. I hate gains!
I decided to be brave today and dye my hair, I'm always up for a fun change...so I went from my brownish w/blonde highlights to a dark brown w/reddish undertones...Everyone seems to like it, although my son says I look like a teenage rock start now...lol. Woo Hoo Morrigan! Great job on the loss.
I weighed in tonight as well. Down .4?????????? I guess even though I am not journaling or counting points, I am just making better choices than before. I really want to get back to journaling and staying OP. I will try tomorrow. I have a friend coming into town on the 14th of Sept. I would LOVE to be down 5 more pounds by then. I am to the point where about 10 pounds seems to be one size. You can really see 5-10 pounds now. That is a great feeling.
Jennifer, your hair color sounds great. I highlighted my hair once. I hated it. I have a really dark brown hair. Never dyed it before. I do have about 6 gray hairs now. Hmmmmmmm???? We will see. Perhaps I will want to change a few more things after I take off the last 24 pounds.
Kelly, congrats on your loss too. You are doing great!!!
Have a good night everyone!!!

My mom took me school shopping today - malls from dawn till dusk. Everything I got was off a 75% sale rack except for 3 things that were 40% off, so I didn't do too much damage. Except that she bought a ton of kid clothes for my kids, but she always does that whether I am with her or not. Kinda dorky being a 36 year old teacher who's mom still takes her school shopping.... I haven't been totally journaling these past two days, but trying to stay on track. Today I'm going to look at a school nearby for either med admin. assist. or they have courses as a healhcare professional which covers med. assisting, medical coding & billing. So after the interview I'll know what I'm looking at.
It has been rainy and miserable here weather wise the past few days. I kinda get into the blues those days unless I can get to the gym to exercise. So I have probably eaten more than I should. Anyway, can't wait for some sunshine.

Today was WI and I gained 1.75lbs, which is ok...It's the same weight I had lost last week, and with going on vacation, I'd say that's pretty good....Originally when I weighed on Sat. at Curves I was up 5lbs....so I def. dropped some.
Next week I have to start weighing at night,as my new job starts and I won't be able to go on Wed. mornings anymore..so that'll be different, and I'm sure a gain will be in effect the first week until things get on track w/the timing of weigh ins....

I have a friend who is a kidney dialysis nurse and I will ask her. I do know from talking with her that kidney dialysis takes up a lot of your life. Once you start it, it means 3 full days in the hospital, 6-8 hours per visit. My parents have a friend who lived on it for years...at least 20 years. When she hit 85 years old she was in good health, but simply did not want to continue treatment. Because she was dependent on the dialysis treatment in order for her kidneys to function, the choice she made was to end her life. She lived a full and happy life and her husband had died 15 years before. She was also a strong woman and retired to Florida were she golfed a few times a week on the days she wasn't on dialysis. So maybe your grandmother is frightened with the aspect of what it involves, etc. My sister-in-law's mother was also on dialysis for a year. She is now off of it because her kidneys started to function again. I think if you go into google and type it in, it will also direct you to a link that would give you more information. Hope this info helps.

Since I am back to school, I started premaking lunches again. I get out 3-4 zip locks and cut all the toppings and divy them into the ziplocks (measuring ingrediants) and then take one to school each day served over lettuce.
I am thinking of starting a lunch club at school - were 1 person makes lunch for 3-4 people once a week and shares.

Hey everyone!! I really am not sure how many points I have had today. I had some baked ziti for lunch. With lots of cheese. I did not do bad today other than the ziti. I felt guilty and worked out at Curves for an hour and I rode my exercise bike 10 miles. Morrigan hope school is going ok for you.

Good evening everyone~
I think I finished up the day ok. Thanks to a trip to the airport to drop some friends off (did not have dinner with the family).
snack
crackers 2
peanut butter 2
teddy grahams 3
dinner
pasta 4pts
sauce 2pts
not having dinner with the family stopped me from eating the garlic bread and seconds! Whatever works I suppose.
Morrigan, a co-worker and myself did the lunch thing back in the day. We were both doing weight watchers. It worked out great. Hope you get some interest in that.
Good night!

One more thing. I got my wedding ring sized down from a 8.5 to a 7.5 back in April. It is spinning on me again. Wow!!!! It was an 8.5 when we got married. YIPEE!!! It's the little things in life isn't it??

buffalosister, how exciting! That is a fabulous perk when your rings are too big!
Today has been just nuts! I've been cranking along since my start date of August 8th pretty much just fine. I haven't felt like I was missing anything, very rarely hungry/starving. Several times I had way too many points left over at the end of the day, and just couldn't talk myself into eating late in the evening if I wasn't hungry. Well, today it all caught up to me! My TOM arrived without my even knowing it (I had thermal ablation in June of this year), and although I no longer suffer through the mess, I definitely had the PMS thing going on! LOL! Anyway, I was hungry when my alarm clock went off this morning, and no matter what I did, I was hungry all day! I didn't feel full or even comfortable until dinner tonight, where I know I ate larger portions than I've eaten for the last month. Ah well! I guess it's all still OK as I did maintain control, and chose healthy items, when all I wanted to do was EAT SOMETHING!!
Pre Breakfast Snack (lol) english muffin w/ jelly 3pts.
Breakfast (1/2 hour later, still hungry!) cheese omlette, 1 slice bacon 6pts.
Snack (on my way to work) Skinny Cow Bar 2pts
Lunch (yep, I knew I'd want more to eat!) carrots, FF ranch, yogurt 3pts.
After School Snack baked chips 1pt.
Dinner (at Mom's, who knows no low fat!) salad w/ full fat dressing 4pts,
egg noodles 6pts., beef tips (over the noodles) 5pts.
31 total. Highest points to date, I think! But, on the upside, I've been full since dinner at 5:30, no snacks needed this evening! MAYBE the monster has gone back into hibernation....till next month, of course!
We're leaving for the lake after school tomorrow, so I won't be around until Monday evening. I'm sure temptation is going to be everywhere during our last big end-of-the-summer fling, but I feel I have all the tools to stay in control. I do think I may take in the first WW meeting tomorrow morning to strengthen my arsenal!
Question for anyone....I've not had to deal with TOM till now since I started WW. Any advice? Do you notice that it hits the scale hard? I'm a bit nervous to get on the scale at the meeting tomorrow if I go, unsure what the effects of this will be! Thanks all!

Hi Everyone:
It has been hard to stay on track...this weekend will be tough too. I'm thinking of grazing on salads when we are not at cookouts. My DH is taking a 4 day weekend and we will be on the go. So tracking will be tough. We will be out lot. So today I had my usual breakfast (that always seems easy). Its the rest of the day that has been a challenge lately, plus I have to go food shopping and don't have a lot of my frozen meals here that keep me on track. Hope you all have a good weekend.
Morrigan - what does the e-tools do for you? I have some great recipes, but not sure how to count up the points. Does it allow you to put in your recipe so that points can be calculated?
Amy - I hope whatever your grandmother decides that you will have her with you for some time to come. My grandparents died before my kids were out of diabers and I still miss them. So I hope the best for you and your family. By the way, congrats on the ring size. You are an inspiration to me. How long did it take you to lose your first 50lbs?

Good morning everyone!!!
I finally got my at home kit yesterday!!! I went back and entered all of my eating and exercise for the last two weeks into it and boy was I surprised. I have been eating WAYYYY over my points. I still lost five pounds so far.
Yesterday I used up all of my flex points and then some for this week on a Sonic burger. So I made up a menu for me to stick by today to count off the extra eight points I used yesterday.
I think planning the meals for me is definatley going to be the key to me sticking with this plan. I am still in shock of how many points I have been going over. One day I was up to 69.5. That was my highest. Then on most other days I was around 55. My limit is 31 a day!!! EEK!!!
I hope you all have a great day!!!
Bagel - 3
2 Tbsp. Strawberry Cream Cheese - 2
(8 oz.) Non fat Yogurt - 2
1 Cup sweet tea - 2
WW frozen meal - 7
6 in. Sub - 7
Total 23.

kcsmom, those points can really add up fast, can't they?! Now that you have your books you'll be doing so much better! It won't take long before you can look at a lot of the items you eat regularly and just know the points without looking them up, and then it gets easier from there. Tracking and writing it all down before you put that first bite into your mouth also helps. You see it on paper, and think am I willing to spend those points on this snack or whatever?
Best of luck to you!

The last couple days have been trying for me, just alot of stress, alot of changes, and I'm emotionally drained. My last day at work was yesterday, a job I loved...but I start a new job Tues, that will financially help my family more. My hubby's always worked 70 hours a week, and for the last 4 months he's been cut down to 40...we're struggling. So I decided to take this job, that will help us out. Now, hubby was offered a day job at the same company he's at (he's been on midnights for 13 yrs)...and his hours will increase, which is all good...except then we had to find care for our son, for before school...I start work at 8am, hubby at 4am, and school doesn't start until 8:30 so I was freaking out. Yesterday was bittersweet at my job, they had a huge pot-luck for me, flowers, a card that all signed saying how much they'll miss me, etc...
Amidst all this, my eating has been less than perfect. I cannot say it's been downright terrible, just I know not w/in points. I'm hoping Tues, the start of my new life w/new job, kids first day of school and hubbys' new hours will bring alot more structure to our lives and I can get back on the wagon 110% I don't plan to screw up the next 2 days by any means, just am hoping to have it all figured out again by then. Wish me luck, and sorry for rambling...sometimes it just helps to vent :)

just logging in to say hi from vacation. Doing okay so far i think. I am mostly staying in the 26-27 point range most days except the day before we left the airport (limited food availability), and yesterday (because I wanted sugary junk food and I am on vacation). Hopefully I don't gain weight, but I may. The only thing i know about where i'm planning to eat junk is sunday we are having cake. Most other days healthy stuff will be an option one way or another (although if we decide to go to cheesecake factory when we go to birmingham again, I'm in trouble--I don't know if I can pass up cheesecake). However, we get back home thursday and I should be able to resume normal eating by thursday or friday.
Anyone here in the hunstville or birmingham, AL areas and know where I can get nana's cookie bars, baker's breakfast cookies or solo bars? Those have worked well for filling snacks for me and they aren't on the list of foods i can't eat because i just had a tooth extracted, but all i have left is one breakfast cookie (2-3 snacks), which i'll probably end up using before we leave and we don't have a long enough layover on our way back for meals.

I didn't even count this weekend - then sort of started to today until I saw the apple pie my grandpa made --- oh well. I had points in the low 20's M,T,W,Th, F last week, so all in all I can't have screwed too much up this weekend. I won't get to see the damage until next week because our meeting this week was cancelled.

Thank goodness tomorrow is a new day. I have been soooooo bad for 3 days. No exercise, eating whatever. I did not do nearly as bad as I used to everyday, but I haven't been good by no means. I will get back to it tomorrow. I don't even know why, I think I just got really tired of the same stuff everyday. I am aware that I made mistakes and thank the Lord tomorrow is a new day. I am not going to undo everything that I have worked so hard to do.

Thank Goodness today is a new day!! I, too, have been terrible the past couple days...Not as bad as my pre-ww days, but definitely not on program. This is the week I need to start weighing at the nightly meetings too, so that'll be even more depressing. The question is, To weigh, or not to weigh? The nightly meeting is tomorrow...I'm thinking of skipping a week for the first time since I started program. I feel terrible that I messed up so many days and TOM is due any second, so that in itself has me feeling huge. Today I start my new job, I'm very nervous for that....We'll see how my day goes...I'll post later.

Hi All:
Just checking in. Sounds like we all had the same kind of weekend. I too fell off badly over the weekend, eating whatever. But as I gained back 2lbs last week I did manage to lose 1lb last week, so I only have 1lb to go to be back on track. This week school starts too so I'l be back to walking at the gym. Thank God today is a new day and a new start. Still reaching for the goal. Isn't that an awesome thing! Wishing you all well on your journey today. Check in later.

Well the first day at my new job was, not like I expected. The girl who was supposed to train me for the next 10 weeks until she went on maternity leave, well she quit on Thurs...so I've been pretty much thrown into it. I think I'll manage though. Sounds like lunch is brought in daily by drug reps, so it will be alittle more challenging than my previous job on that aspect, I guess as long as I have my FF dressing in the fridge, I'll manage...most times the lunch also brings a salad....so ...we'll see.
So far today:
B: slim fast/oil/banana 5pts
L: slim fast 3pts, grapes & pineapple 2pts
S: 2pt bar
UGH, dinner!
4 slices pizza and a piece of zucchini bread...
My day is doomed!
I cannot seem to get on track....HELP!

Hey everyone!! Jennifer your day is not ruined. You will be fine. At least now you are more aware. I hope your new job works out well. I know when I start something new I am very nervous. I have to get used to it. Nothing like getting thrown into a job, huh? I have been thinking and I did not enjoy eating like I did this weekend nearly as much as I used to. I enjoy doing what is right for my body more that overeating now. Don't get me wrong, I still like to indulge a little, but not like I used to. Today I have had a good day. Breakfast-all bran cereal bar/grapes=4 pts. lunch-smartone/nectarine/salad=7 pts. dinner-salad/salad shrimp/dressing=7 pts. I worked out at Curves and rode my exercise bike 10 miles. I will probably have a snack in a little bit. Thats all for me, hope you all are having a back on track kind of day!!! If not you will tomorrow. Bye for now.

AJsMommy, hang in there! You'll get into the swing of things with your new job in no time!
Back from the lake, and happy to report that I did pretty well! I believe I stayed on target two days, and used two or three flex points each of the other days. Wayyyyy happy about that as the kiddos were all making smores and fried pies in the fire, but I stayed strong!
Today, however, the TOM monster was rearing it's ugly head. I guess the first day and the last day are the killers for me this month!
Breakfast: Veggie and ham scrambled eggs 6pts
Lunch: yogurt 2pts, rice cakes 2 pts, carrots with ff ranch 1pt
Snack: 94% ff popcorn 1pt
Dinner: spaghetti w/sauce 9pts, green beans 1pt, ww carrot cake 1pt
Killer: Hershey bar 5pts
28 total. I must be missing something, I didn't bring my log book to the puter with me, but I was sure I was 1 point over!

Hi Everyone:
AJ's Mommy - Don't be so hard on yourself. It doesn't sound like you did so bad. Learning a new job is tough to begin with. And the fact that you have to master this without the person who was supposed to train you is crazy. So just take it a little at a time. After a week or two you will probably feel more comfortable with things. One thing I do is try to have a good breakfast every morning. I plan what I'm going to eat the night before. I also keep the frozen dinners in my fridge when I can't cook something up. I look beyond the Lean Cuisines to other dinners that stay within the points, but taste really good. If I put something in my mouth, it has to satisfy the taste buds. Otherwise I am always looking for something else to eat. So take a deep breath.
Not been eating that well myself. I am already at 23 points for the day and only 1:30 pm. I start my Masters classes tonight. I think part of me is just dreading giving up that much time for the next two years.

Hello everyone! I am not doing well either. WTH???? What are we all doing??? I weighed in last night and maintained. THANK GAWD!!! I ate birthday cake all weekend long. Butterfinger ice cream too. Anyway, scale showed a gain this morning. I think it caught up to me. I am doing great so far today.
Breakfast
oatmeal 3 pts
Gym
5 minute warm up walking
30 minutes with trainer
at that point, I had only burned 293 calories.
So, I did 15 minutes at 4mph on an incline and burned a total of 453! :)
Lunch
left over Capallini Pomodoro from Olive Garden and one bread stick 6+2.5.
Doing something with pork chops tonight. Not sure what.
I wish there were some sort of challenge we could do with actual consequences to each other. Any ideas........let me know. --Amy
