My goal for August is to bike 250 miles.

My goal for August is to bike 70 miles and get in 15 miles either walking or on the eliptical. :)

AC units are here, so now I can work out in the house!! My goal is to do an exercise DVD at least three times a week. I am sure most times it will be a belly dance one, but maybe will rotate others into the mix. I am taking a belly dance class tomorrow, and if I like it, I am signing up for the fall session. I will be taking an hour class once a week for the fall. Tomorrow is a "test" class, to see how I like it. (Mostly, I don't want to be in a class with 17 year old skinnie minnies!)

I took a belly dance class today and I loved it! I am definately signing up for the fall session and may do a few "drop in" classes for the month of August. It was so much fun and that hour FLEW by!

In this class there were woman who could dance and some who had never taken a dance class before. We all were having a great time, lots of smiles from everyone! Very supportive group!

Did a yoga DVD. Not real streneous, but great stretches. Made my sore hips feel better.

Did the "harder" belly dance video this morning. Tried to do all of it but didn't get through the entire thing, I really don't understand some of the moves, so I have to stop the DVD and try it on my own, go back and try again. I will get it soon and be able to do it all!

Also, signed up and sent in my check to take a belly dance class. My class will be on Fridays in the fall and I will do the DVD's on the other days. I am like a little kid waiting for the first day of class, I can't wait for it to start!!! Sept. 15th is the first day!!

Since I am really cleaning up after the bathroom redo, I am counting that as exercise. I will be up and down the stairs many times, carrying old dry wall, and tiles and then out to the dumpster. It will be two flights of stairs to get out and two back up to get more garbage. So that is my exercise for the day!

The belly dancing sounds so exciting and sexy!! The cleaning up. . . well. . . not so exciting and not so sexy. . . but definately a calorie burner!

Shelley, glad you're keeping this thread going, as usual :) I've always heard exercise relieves stress--not that the beginning of school has you stressed out or anything!! :lol:

More cleaning up today, I have been up and down the stairs 34 times! I am counting up and down one flight as one time! My legs are tired now!!

I know, I disappeared. Today is the first day I've done anything since Sunday. I got bit by something last time I walked and my arm puffed up. Then the rains came. Everyone is going great!

Ive got a bike story to tell:

Had to call Mike to rescue me on my ride. A huge black dog ran after me. I tried to find a way out of the place I went, but there was no way out! I looked 1/2 mile ahead on the way back, and the dog was standing in the middle of the street waiting for me. Called Mike. Dog kept inching toward me. I tried not to look at it. Finally, by the time he got there, the dog came up to me and smelled. Whew!! Mike said it was a pitbull and rottie mix or something like that. Not only that, it was just a puppy! It had an electric collar on, but it wasn't working. What a scare!! And that was my favorite ride. I won't be going back there again, I guess!
