Default 3 day diet

I am starting a 3 day diet tomorrow. I think I am going to do this once a week just to keep me on track. I am not expecting a huge weight loss or anything. I just really think it might help with getting the weight off. Has anyone done this diet before?

I've done this diet -and basically I did it 1 x wk for 6 mths I lost almost 75 pounds - which was awesome - just be warned - Hopefully your better then I am - but I did not keep the weight off - when I stopped the diet, because just thinking about eating those foods any more made me want to be sick - I slowly gained the weight back - you have to be carefull on the days that your off the diet make sure you really watch your carbs oh and drink lots and lots and lots of water Best of luck to you

I don't know much about the specifics of this diet, but if it's something that isn't something you can keep doing for a lifetime...Just make sure you have a good plan for what you will do when you go off the diet so you don't regain when you go back to normal life.

First thought:A diet that calls for HOT DOGS? What's next, the SPAM diet?

Second thought: That is a VERY low calorie plan that is lacking many essential nutrients. I sure would worry about my metabolism slowing down eating that way. Coffee and artificial sweetener as part of a plan worries me too.

Best of luck and if this works for you and meets your personal needs, more power to you!

Personally, I would never do a 'diet' like this, even if I ate those kinds of foods! Have you checked out the Whole Foods/Superfoods section of this board? It's a GREAT, natural and healthy approach to eating!

I don't think that sounds very healthy! I would opt for a sensible diet everyday. And 4 glasses of water is not enough, unless the glass is at least 16 oz.!!

It doesn't look too bad to me, especially if you only have to do it for three days at a time. I couldn't eat the peanut butter though (don't really like PB) or the cottage cheese or the tuna come to think about it- maybe not the diet for me then! LOL

Coming from a family with an extensive medical background (not myself, but my mom and sister), this looks like a very unhealthy diet. Nowhere near enough calories and essential nutrients and not enough water.

Best of luck to those who try it, and I don't mean to judge, but this looks like something that will only "bandaid" the problem, not solve it for good.

Let us know how it works.

I did a few quick calculations. Day 1 of this diet is about 900 calories, 22% of which are from ice cream. Day 2 is closer to 1000 calories, but you still get a large percentage of your total calories from the saturated fat in the beef franks and the ice cream. Day 3 was only 820 calories!

Not healthy for your body or your metabolism.

Hey ya'll!!!!! Just wanted to add in my experince. I did the three day diet about 2 yrs. ago and I lost 6 pounds in three days. So, I was very impressed and I did it everyday for 2 months and weighed in at 130. I started at 168. But I did add more flavor to it and I had my diet sodas and added more fruits and veggies.

Now to the down side I was beyond tried and had no energy. I was also working out like crazy. But after I stoppe dthe diet I suddnely began to gain the wieght alot quicker. Even when I would still workout. But "to each's it's own" Like someone had mentioned before, Make sure you eat normal and healthy on your days off. Stick to like a 1300 cal on your days off. Good luck to you.
