OK, there are 5 weeks between Labor Day and Columbus - perfect for setting a new goal to reach.

My last weigh in will actually be a little early - the Thursday before Columbus day and that is 5 weeks for me.

Set your goals here and decide on your plan to meet them!!

My goal is to lose 5 pounds - 1 per week. And I challenge myself for this first week to remain OP every day. I've got 15 days going and I want to keep this up and not start slipping!

I am going to have to use my last weigh in. I only go 1 time a month and do not go again until 9-18. But I will go the day after Columbus Day!!

Starting weight: 211.8
CD goal: 6lbs

Hi All,

I'm in on this! I will fill in my goal Wednesday after WI...which is when I end my Labor Day goal...which I did not meet. Columbus Day will be a modest goal...I got too big for my britches, so to speak for Labor Day, after the Success I had for July 4th!

Well, just started and managed to lose 12 in August. I know its a stretch, but I am going to Brussels on October 13th and would LOVE to be under 150, so I am going to go for another 12 by CD. It's a super long shot, but maybe posting it as a goal here will keep my butt in gear:D

Hmmm. The first two weeks were kind of rough, but now I am getting somewhere. Plus, am in TOM, so this week should be good. Doubt SINCERELY that I will make goal, but hopefully I wont miss it by too much!

I too did not meet my LD goal - in fact I have not met any of the goals that have been set so far, but I am not a quitter.

I normally weigh in on a Tuesday, so can I post the day after Columbus Day (BTW - do you guys get this day off work?)

My goal is to lose 7lbs

CW - 197lbs (again :cry: )
CDG - 190lbs

BTW - LBH I too got too big for my britches, literally and physically :lol:

BFB - Sure, it's fine if you end it a day late. I thought about ending mine 3 days late, but then decided to end it early.:dizzy: I like your new mantra! Oh, and no, we don't get Columbus Day off.

I broke my OP streak this weekend. I only went over .5 on one day and 1 the next day. I feel like a failure though and I MUST get that out of my head! I have started all over on the challenge to myself.:)

I'm in!!

My CD goal is to lose 3 lbs. Its not much but its part of my whole new outlook. The slower I lose it the better it stays off. So I plan to be 180 by CD.

Hi All,

I decided not to WI last night, will go tonight. I just felt too awful last night, and I had work to do anyway. There is a meeting tonight that I should be able to make, it's at 5:15, but it's not an express mtg., so if I get there at 5:35-5:40, I should be OK.

Hi All,

WI was not good, but I did not expect it to be, with AF hanging around making me miserable. I just did not expect it to be as miserable as it was! I gained 2.8lbs.!! :(

Starting Weight: 239.2
CD Goal: 234

So my goal will be to lose 5.2 lbs. in 4 wks. Normally I would say 5, because I WI on Wednesdays, and that would only be 2 days after Columbus Day, but I liked the Thursday night meeting, so I'll stick to that and make the 4th my last WI. So it's an ambitious goal, but I'm convinced that this gain is because of AF, so I think it'll come off easy.

Hi all

Now I'm at 5 days op and going strong still. Last night was a tough one - I was at a street festival and ofcourse, there was food galore. :( I felt so proud of myself when I left though that I had not overdone it.:D DH and I tried lots of things together. And I didn't go home stuffed - that was a good feeling.

Hope I get a loss this Thursday!

Off to go work on my menu for this week.

okay, while I seem to do better when i don't set a goal I'm going to give it another try. I just got back from vacation and have only 4 weeks so I'm going for a very modest 3 pound loss, that would actually make me really happy! Your Colombus Day is my Thanksgiving Day so it will be my Thanksgiving Day Goal and I'll weigh in on Tuesday morning and report!!

I know I shouldn't weigh in all the time and I got away from it for awhile, but have started doing it again. Anyway, the scale is NOT moving! And I'm doing so well! I weigh the same exact thing every morning.:?:

I hear ya. I have been OP for over a week and the scale HAS NOT MOVED. OK, it has been bouncing between 158.5 and 160, but that seems to have more to do with how late I have dinner. Maybe it means that one day I will wake up and have a huge loss! More likely, the loss will just start again slowly, but it will be harder to go back above this weight because of the plateau. Has anyone else found that they tend to get "stuck" at the decade marks? (eg, 160, 150...) I have noticed this in the past and figured it was some psychological thing and that I was actually eating more/exercising less at these times. But now that I am journaling I realize that I have, if anything, been eating less and my exercise has not changed (it is basically very little, I need to work on this). Anyway, I will be interested to see what happens at 150 (if I ever leave 159)

Trying not to be too upset about the weight thing. I have been OP with food since 9/1 and I weigh the EXACT same. So now, to make goal, I need to lose 12 lbs in 4 weeks! Oh well, guess I will try for that and be happy with any loss at all! The whole issue actually seems quite small today....

Bailey - My weight has been the exact same every morning. Yesterday for the 1st time in awhile, it was down 1.5 -- but today is back up. I also think it has a lot to do with what I eat at night and possibly how salty it is. We're doing it right - it has to work. I weigh in tomorrow night - hopefully with a loss.

With all the stuff going on lately, Family funeral, dog's death, and the events of the last 28 hrs, I find myself at 180. That was my CD goal. So my new goal is to maintain it and if any 'bonus' pounds decide to depart - I'll just let them and rejoice! - jul

Tonight is weigh in and I sure hope I get a loss. This has really been a struggle. I have been sticking with this so much and don't feel as if I'm getting anywhere (according to my scales). Hopefully tonight will be a turn-around. I don't know what else to do but stick with it.

Rabbit, congratulations on the loss. You're doing so well!

I lost 3 pounds this week! That's how I wanted to start this new round of commitment. I think the water helped, and also, I put a stop to continual grazing and snacking. The ww meeting was very inspiring today and I'm really happy I went back.

Hi All,

Good news amongst the bad...I lost 2.6 lbs.!!! So I'm half way to my goal!! I have 3 wks. and a couple days to lose another 2.6 lbs. I can do this!!

SEPT 13th WI: 236.6
CD Goal: 234

There's 7 wks. between Columbus Day and Thanksgiving, so I guess that's the next Goal we'll have... aaahh, it's amazing what being OP can do for your weight loss outlook! :lol:

Hi everyone. Still OP, something like 12 days straight. School is okay, very frustrating as far as programming goes (if anyone knows visual basic, please email me!) but the graphics class is so interesting.

I have been taking power bars with me if I have to be out of the house; I love the taste and they have vitamins and fiber. :)

Hope all is well with everyone's progress toward their CD goals!

Really don't think I will make my CD goal, I got a little "stuck" there for a short while and have not been able to exercise almost at all due to too much work!

Well, I seem to be able to find time for other things, so really it's that I AM ALLOWING MYSELF TO USE MY WORK AS AN EXCUSE TO BE A LAZY BUTT!!!!:o

Sadly, don't see that changing at least until after the conference we have coming up on Oct 1st and 2nd.

Really want to be under 150 when I leave for Brussels (Oct 13th), so am going to really try to be good about points, F/V, H2O and do what I can on the exercise front. 24 days....7+lbs.

I will give it my best!

Well, this is the kind of week where I would be happy with staying the same. I had a big meal at my in-laws and a big meal at my mom's and we're going to a family wedding this weekend. I "officially" weigh in on Monday mornings but I do weigh myself every morning (maybe wrong but it works for me). So as of this morning I could still have a loss on Monday if I do okay at the wedding. Thanks to my husband we've been really good about counting points but sometimes I find it hard with certain foods so I sort of guess. If I know I'm having a big dinner I just try to eat really light during the day and not pig out at dinner because I can't accurately calculate the points of some things I'm eating. Anyway, it's working so far and I'm on track for my modest Columbus Day goal.

As I've said before I rarely write down my weight (too emberassed I guess, comes from years of keeping it a secret.) But here it goes........

well as I suspected this past week wasn't great. I was hoping to stay the same and I managed to gain 1.5 so that sucks. I know this week will be back on track because my husband is still doing it with me but somehow he still lost a pound. Oh well. It's so strange though because I do weigh everyday (I know I know) and I just officially check in on Monday mornings. Well as of last Wednesday morning I was down a pound, how did I manage to go all the way back and gain a pound?? Who knows, I'm hoping by being REALLY GOOD for the next couple of days and OP for the rest of the week, it'll fall back off. We did have the wedding this weekend out of town but I thought I was okay. Anyway I'm still hoping for my modest CD goal and then I'll work on the Thanksgiving Goal that I'll figure out.

Well, I didn't weigh in yesterday. I was toooo scared of what the scale monster will tell me. But I have started back on the water and got some fruit and veg in and I am really trying. I will not meet my CD goal, but I refuse to keep on going up and up! Guess I am trying to reduce any damage I may have done before next week's weigh in :D

Well, Down another 1.5 this week, putting me at -4.5 for this challenge. Unfortunately, I stayed exactly the same for the first 2 weeks and my original goal was extremely ambitious. So, now I have 7.5 to lose in 12 days! Not likely, but I will still be pleased with a good loss (unless I go UP..)

Weigh in is tonight, I think it will be okay - hope so!

I tried on fall clothes yesterday to give some big things away and it was so cool that some of the things just hung on me!:D :cool: :smug: :)

I'm bummed that I won't meet this goal, but glad that I'm atleast moving in the right direction. I feel better about how I'm doing - this last month or so - than I've felt in a long time.

Hi All,

Weigh in went well, down 2 lbs., but it looks like I'm back where I started!! :( There's no way I'm going to lose 5.2 lbs. in one week!!

DH and I have decided to re-evaluate what I'm doing this weekend. We're taking inventory of the freezer and planning meals for the week. DH is also going to push me to exercise again, which I asked him to do. Hopefully that will get me going and push me in the right direction!!

Rabbit, WTG on maintaining. :) Have the best time this weekend.

I was up a pound but I'm not going to be discouraged because I was OP all week and I know it will catch up with me next week. I drank an Alka-Seltzer Allergy concoction yesterday which is filled with sodium; not that I'm trying to make excuses, but I know that must be why I didn't lose or maintain.

I'll check in over the weekend.

well I knew last week's weigh in on Monday had to be artificially high and I made up for it this week - down 3.5 - YAY!! This puts me one pound below my Columbus Day Goal so I'll be happy to maintain or have a tiny loss this week and then I'll try another goal.

You know, I just realized I'm going to miss my last weigh in for this goal since I'm leaving town today. I didn't come anywhere near it though since I only lost a pound. I'll be ready to join the Thanksgiving day goal next week and I think I'll just use my last weigh in weight as my starting point. I think we'll have 6 weigh ins?

OK, I am going to go until the 10th and see if I can be a little closer to this goal! Although I am not going to make it and had a slow start, I am very happy with my progress! I am also officially 20.5 down from when I started (Aug 1). YEAY! That also puts me at having lost my first 10% (17.3).

I have just been doing WW using my moms old stuff, but I joined and went to my 1st meeting Monday night. Hopefully that will help, as I know this is not going to continue to go so smoothly!

I'm so happy. I didn't really have a great week, food wise. I mean it was pretty good but I had a few meals out and I find it hard to be right OP when I eat out but I tried to make good choices as best as I could. So I said I would be happy with just maintaining this week and I lost half a pound so I'm thrilled with that. I BEAT MY GOAL BY A POUND AND A HALF. I'm so proud of myself and I'm ready for the next goal - who wants to start a Thanksgiving Day goal? I thought Halloween might be too soon but I don't really care.

What do you all think?
