G’day all

Peggy I am sure you will find the site I posted a bit addictive, I have been going there about every day.

Glenda sorry to hear you are not well with a cold. Soon I hope to be able to ‘just get up and go’ and walk for miles :)That is quite a distance you covered.

Slavika I have never heard of red licorice, I am only aware of licorice all sorts and black licorice, both rather nice ;)
I think it should not be allowed when a publishing company puts a different cover on a book. I have been caught a few times, same book different cover :(
As far as age, many years ago I worked as a receptionist in the casualty section of a large hospital. I had to ask the age of patients that came in, the elderly would always ask for me to guess their age. I always made sure I ‘guessed’ them to be quite a bit younger and invariably they would tell me that they were going to be 85 (or whatever) next birthday, despite the fact that the birthday was still 11 ˝ months away. It always made me smile.

I don’t know if it is in the headlines at your side of the world but we have a very sad situation here with some 450 asylum seekers languishing just outside Australian waters. We have a large ‘problem’ with asylum seekers entering Australia illegally. Whatever ones politically outlook, it is very sad that people are so desperate to go to these measures to try and get away from the regime they are living under in their home country. I personally think the ‘scum’ that trades in the misery of these people should be held accountable but somehow no-one seems to catch up with them.

It is a gloomy day here today and quite cold. The trees in the botanical gardens across the road are about to burst into leave at any moment. It should be quite spectacular when they do.

Another great site was mentioned on another thread, worth having a look.

Have a great day all

Slavika since I had a tough weekend, the movies you borrowed me came in handy. I just loved "O Brother Where Art Thou", "Notting Hill", "Hanging Up" wasn't Bad, "Entrapment "did nothing for me, and "Me Myself & I" was a complete turn off. However, I did watch them from beginning to end and was grateful for them. Thanks again.
In the Audio tapes I just finished "Sacred Sins' by Nora Roberts, excellent! And have just started "Legacy of Silence" by Belva Plain, and it looks promising, hated to leave it at the Wellness Center today. I also listened to "Carnal Innocence " by Nora Roberts, loved it. "Paradise"one of Oprah's book club recommendations was a bore and very hard to follow - not good, "Post Mortem" by Patricia Cornwell, was so-so, "Dangerous To Know" was OK. "Calder Pride" was super, and "WElcome to the World Baby Girl" was good. The Audio Tapes really work well with my work outs - the time just flys by.
You gals really depressed me by letting me know all the foods that may bother me.....everything I just love. I did find out that cucumbers are a no-no for now. The Losec is working quite well for the stomach but is playing havoc with my IBS. Maybe that will straighten out as my system gets used to it.....I hope. So far I haven't taken any over the counter antacids, but perhaps that would be a good idea.
I will be getting on the dreaded scale tomorrow at WW. Not too worried, think I will be OK, but I shouldn't be too confident because any thing can happen between now and then.
Maria the information you have been providing is a hoot, been enjoying all of it. See my DH in almost everything. LOL
GLenda So sorry for the cold, maybe it won't last long and you will be back to normal soon. Way to go on the weight losses, you must be so pleased.
Lily what happened to the pictures, went there to look at the snowmen and couldn't find any pictures at all. Am I confused again, or what? Need help!

Well, it is late and I am tired, - off to bed - see you gals tomorrow.

08-28-2001, 12:53 PM
Trudy: I havent scanned them yet. I will tonight and then post them. So no you are not confused.

Back later

08-28-2001, 12:54 PM
Good morning all

Sounds like you are all doing well in the weight dept.

Slavika: Let me know what you do to get back on goal. I'm working at it, but don't feel soo successful right now.

Trudy: I know it is a 'bummer' but you will be okay. I was told to take a dose of Mylanta/Maalox between meals for the first few weeks, or as necessary. Also to use Mylanta Gas or Gasx between meals for a few days or as necessary. Especially for things like cucumbers, cantelope and watermelon. At leat those were the things that gave me truoble at first. Did your Dr. ever give you a GI coctail, or as it is also known witches brew? It has something in it to numb your esophagus.(tongue too:spin: but it works for a short term fix.

Maria: Funny stuff. I couldn't agree with you more about the people who scam the poor refugees who just want to escape to a better life. We have that here in Fl. all the time in the Miami area with people coming on overloaded small boats from Cuba and Haiti. And there always seems to be loss of life, as a boat capsizes or some such thing. When we lived near the Canadian border, it was the same, people being smuggled in car trunks and special compartments on trucks. It is sad to think there are so many desperate people in the world. We have it so good!

Glenda: Sorry about the cold. Why is it that something we can't do much about except wait, can make one feel so 'punk'? You were very smart to seize the moment, and see your kids, Who cares if you didn't look like a page out of a fashion magazine.

Peggy: Hope your sale will be a big success. It better be since you have been in the cellar so long.:spin:

Lily: You are the computer expert you and Maria. Can you tell me how to use the top of the post page to get the different colors? I have tried a couple of things but nothing happened. I obviously left out something. When you put in a color, and then type in at the top what you want that color, does it show on your post before you submit, or does it only show on the submitted copy.

Karen: How many meetings this week?

Here is a good recipe for cookies. If you leav off the pecan halves it is only .5 per cookie

Chocolate Pecan Thins

36 pecan halves
1/2 cup sugar
2TBS butter
2Tbs apple butter
1 large egg white
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
1/3 cup all purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking powder

Preheat oven to 350deg. Place pecans on cookie sheet; bake until nuts begin to brown and are fragrant. about 5 min. Remove and set a side. Combine sugar and butters in medium bowl. Beat on medium speed with an electric mixer until soft. Add egg white and vanilla; beat until combined, scraping mixture off sides of bowl as needed. In medium bowl whisk together cocoa, flour, and baking powder. Add to butter mixture and combine. Drop dough by even teaspoonfulls about one inch apart onto 3 ungreased cookie sheets. Place 1 pecan half on top of each cookie. Bake for 12 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool for 5 min. Remove to rack to cool completely. 2 cookies per serving Serves 18 2 points per serving.

They are really good, but just as good without the nuts.

Have fun and enjoy. Ann

Ann: When replying on the right hand side you will see this
vB Code [help]
Normal Mode
Enhanced Mode
Click on the enhanced mode to select it.
Then when typing your message choose the colors and when you dont want the color any more click on the Close Tags on the left hand side. You will not see the colors until you post. But you will see it put some code in your message. Hope that helps if not I will try to explain again

 Hi Everybody

Lily I didn't know that's the way to change the color of the text. I was just clicking on the color and then typing in the "Explorer User Box" that opens up. I tried it the way you said and I ended up with a whole message in red. :( I will work on it. Ann when I went to WW today I was up another 2.8# (first weigh in this month). I reached my goal weight of 150# in October of 1998 and have been sort of up and down since. Right now I am 158.5# and will get back to writing in my journal, and weighing and measuring things. I still walk on the treadmill and I drink lots and lots of water, so hopefully it won't take to long to get back to goal. :)
Tea time was great, and so were the "Butter Tart Cheesecakes" even if the gals had to eat them "off" the paper liners. Trudy said she didn't mind a bit of paper, but drew the line at eating tinfoil. :D :D Ahh that's my friend.
Have a nice evening everybody. Bye now.

08-28-2001, 09:29 PM
Click below to see snowmen and a suprise!

Snowmen (http://50Group.wgbcreations.com/Members/members1.html)

Slavika: You need to make sure you hit the Close tag when you want the color to stop. But you need to be in advanced mode to do it. I thought this was the only way. Im not sure what you mean by the explorer box.
Oh I see now! You need to make sure you click the radio button on the right side and change it to the Enhanched mode. Been in that mode for so long I forgot about the Explorer box. I couldnt ever get that to work correctly :)

08-28-2001, 09:38 PM
Ann you are doing a great job with your computer. I am sure if you follow Lily's instructions you will be posting colour/bold in no time.
You mentioning about the refugees/asylum seekers, whatever you want to call them, in your country is not new to me but I wasn't aware it was as bad as it was.
I agree, whatever ones view point, we are very fortunate with the life we have.
Just got an email that Lily has just posted, ah great minds think alike albeit in the form of posting on 3fc :D

Slavika good luck with getting those few pounds off. The site I have posted in my first post here, is very good, well worth a visit.

Have a great day all

08-28-2001, 10:34 PM
Barbara Orbison got me banned from Napster a while ago because I downloaded and shared "Pretty Woman". Since then I have tried 2 other sites - the latest being BearShare - not having too much luck :( . I was able to find the songs, but can't seem to get them downloaded. I HATE CHANGE...I was so comfortable with Napster.
Maria it's probably just me and my PC, but I couldn't get the site you posted. :?: I will try again!
Lily Do you leave "Enhanced Mode" on all the time? That is so neat the way we just click on "Snowmen" to get the pictures of Peggy's snowmen and the picture of Peggy & hubby. How do you do that? I always have to type in the actual address, but notice a lot of people just put in a couple of words and ..... viola .....:dizzy:
Peggy the snowmen are so cute and you and your DH make a really nice couple. Thanks for sharing that with us.... now, how do we get these snowmen for ourselves?????
Slavika those "Buttertart cheesecakes" were devine...I know I have that little booklet somewhere, got to look for it. No one minded working the crust off the paper, it actually helped burn off a calorie (I'm sure of it) :D
Ann I never had the GI Cocktail, but probably could have used it. I am familiar with Gas-x  and now that Mylanta comes in pill form, I will give it a try.
I did OK at WW today. This is the first summer I have been through, that I didn't gain a whole bunch of weight. I managed to stay under goal (only because the week I was over goal I didn't go anywhere near the scale :s: ) That is quite an accomplishment for me - hope I can keep it up, ~ "one day at a time".

'Nite all....

08-29-2001, 12:45 AM
 Lily thanks again for the computer help.

Peggy you and DH look just great. Your snowman are really very wonderful.....no wonder you spend so much time in your basement. hee hee :D :D

Maria I was able to get to "funny site" you posted for us without trouble so maybe Trudy is having a bit of computer trouble. I also went to the fitness one, but I am too tired tonight to look around much. Tomorrow............

Night all.

08-29-2001, 01:02 AM
Maria tried the site again and got there. Must have been the PC as I RARELY make mistakes  Thanks..

08-29-2001, 08:54 AM
It is weird to see yourself on the web..... Maria I love that site. Have sent my cat friends some of the cat stuff. Have to go back and explore some more. Slavika I happened to go to Olde Time Pottery yesterday and they had knock offs of those ceramic birdhouses. They didn't have all the detail that the original have. Those buttertart cheesecakes sound so good my mouth is watering for one. Trudy, banned from Napster. You have been reading some good books. I am going to have to get some. I like to listen while I craft. I just read Nora Roberts new one but for the life of me I can't remember the title. It was good though. Good going for staying the same all summmer. Well my dog is wanting to go for his morning walk. We have to go later today because it is the first day of school around here and all the yellow monsters [buses] are on the road. Much easier to go later than to start and stop while they load. Also the kids in the cars should already be there. We walk in a park across from a high school. Have a good day. Hi Lily, Karen, Glenda and Ann.

08-29-2001, 11:46 AM
Lily: I'm trying your instructions. I'm sometimes pretty 'thick' between the ears. So we'll ssee. Thanks for your help.Trudy:As much as you probably don't like the liquid mylanta it does work better.[COLOR=orange]Peggy: The snowpeople are great. But I can see time consuming. But with a handsome husband, being a prisoner in the cellar isn't all bad.:lol:Hi everyone else. I have to post this and see if I passed or failed.
Have a good day.[COLOR=royalblue]Ann

08-29-2001, 11:50 AM
I'd call that aabout 50%. But they tell me practice makes perfect.

08-29-2001, 12:24 PM
Trudy: When Replying there is a button for HTTP: click on it and a box comes up and asks for a name. Type it in and click ok. Then another box pops up and asks for the URL. Just put that in there and click ok and it does the rest!

Peggy:  I love what you call the Buses! Yellow Monsters! To cute!

Ann: you are doing fine! Looks like you are just forgetting the closing tags in some spots

Have a great day all!

08-29-2001, 04:23 PM
First time ever I have tried the colors! I don't take the time to even learn these things because I am at work and just dash off something once in awhile.

First of all, Slavika I would so much like less than 9 pounds to go! I have lost 6 and have 17 to go. But when I am done I will be a non-smoker and slim. And I lose so slowly that I have had to take an oath never to miss a meeting, even when I am gaining or losin .2 pounds. You know, that is hard.

Maria - It sounds as if everyone has someone trying to get into their borders. We live in Oklahoma and the illegal Mexicans crossing the Texas border is a heart-wrenching issue. And some pay with their lives, crowding together, paying some exorbitant price to be brought here. Yes, it makes you stop and consider how lucky we are.

Peggy - Aren't you and your husband an attractive couple! And the snowmen are way too cute. If that is your home in the background, it doesn't look as if your basement would be too crummy either.

08-29-2001, 08:14 PM
Glenda that picture was taken in Canon Beach, Oregon last October. I have lost 20 lbs since then. Someday I will take a picture of my craft room. I have one around here somewhere. It is the pits.

08-29-2001, 08:15 PM
Since everyone is trying color Lily's way, I decided to do it too.
I worked out this morning and this afternoon did 2 weeks worth of ironing....why do I leave it so long?
We are off to see our DD, taking her the corn on the cob, cucumbers and tomates I can't eat. I had a rough night and today hasn't been a picnic, so I am going to follow Ann's advice and pick up some liquid Mylanta. :p Hope it tastes yummy.
Hope you all have had a nice day and will come back tomorrow to see what is new.

Bye all....

08-29-2001, 08:20 PM
Thanks Lily....what the heck would we do without you? :dizzy: I will try the http: thing just as soon as I find an interesting site to share. :)

Bye Bye again  ......

08-29-2001, 10:51 PM
Trudy: While you are getting the Mylanta, also get some Zantac 75. About 9:00p. take a dose of Mylanta, then before you go to bed take two of the Zantac 75 with some water. Unless, of course your Dr. has given you some other med.Lily: Thanks again for the instructions. I'm trying to remember to close the tag.

Slavika: Are your butter tarts high in points? Sounds like a recipe I would like. I even have some nice tart pans I bought in Canada.

Glenda: A slim non-smoker is the greatest. Keep up the good work.

Would be all dare to make a challenge for some specific date to get rid of a specified number of pounds?

Maria: Just read in tonights paper again aabout the boatload of Afghans off your coast. It is so sad that there are so many needy people inte world, and what is worse, so many ready to take advantage because of GREED![COLOR=purple] Good night all. Ann[COLOR=seagreen][COLOR=seagreen][COLOR=seagreen][COLOR=skyblue]

08-29-2001, 11:58 PM
you are all just to funny!
Give you a new toy to play with
I Was laughing so much at all the colors I will have to re read tomorrow.

08-30-2001, 12:23 AM
great minds DO think alike :D I notice you are posting the same time as me again!

thanks to you we are all madly posting in colour

It is a glorious day here today, I have just been for a walk after doing some cross stitch whilst listen to the radio. The Afghan people are now in Australian waters but nothing has been resolved :(
I also listened to an interview of a person who wrote a book on Nixon. It took him 5 years of research and he interviewed 1200 people in the process. Very interesting...............
I don't want to offend anyone so I won't comment any further suffice to say that I was quite shocked at some of the relevations.

Peggy it was great to see your picture with your dh. You look a great couple. If as you say you have lost 20 lb since that picture I would love to see an updated picture!

Ann you seem to doing great with your computer.

Glenda, you have done well with a 6 lb loss:)
I feel your frustration, I am going through the same. I can fit in the mother of the bride outfit but would really like to have lost a little more (and I will ;) ) but I worry now that I will be inactive for 2-3 months, it will be at a standstill all together. I spoke to dh about that last night and he assured me he won't sabotage my efforts whilst he does the cooking etc.

Trudy another thing we have in common, I am like you and very rarely make mistakes ;) Look after yourself with those digestive problems

I must be away. Picked up some beautiful stationary so will write some letters to friends who do not have email. I just love stationary :dizzy:
Have a great day all

08-30-2001, 12:25 AM
Hi Everybody
My day started off really well. I did my usual "Wednesday" stuff with my friend, lunch/shopping. One of the things I did today was to go back to that jeweller that designed the "four leaf clover" for my DH (birthday is Friday). I showed him those Swarovski Crystal pieces I bought for my friend's birthday and asked him if he could make something up in gold to hook on the pieces so that they could be worn on a gold chain. No problem...he said. I had taken in some "gold" that I never wear anymore or broken stuff and he will melt it down and make something up for me. I also took in my Mother's engagement ring to have the band made wider along with a ring my Son gave me on my 40th birthday that says, "love". I am having that band made wider too. He said everything will be ready for me next Wednesday. I am quite excited. :)
now the yucky part of my day........
I ASSUMED the rates I was looking up for flights to Maui were in Canadian funds, since I was requesting flight information originating in Canada...WRONG.
All the rates I got off the net were in US funds.
Maybe my hopes of going to Maui for more then 3 weeks, just went down the toilet. ahh NUTS!

Lily our board sure is, what's the word I am looking for, oh yes "colorful. LOL :D

Ann the "Butter Tart Individual Cheesecakes" work out to 4 points each. I wish I could think of a way to make them so that they wouldn't stick to paper muffin cup liners.
Night all.

08-30-2001, 01:39 AM
Maria.. it is just an idea, but you could still do a metabolic workout sitting down using hand weights. An excellent book on the subject is "STRONG WOMEN STAY THIN" and "STRONG WOMEN STAY YOUNG", both written my Miriam E. Nelson, PHD. I have both of them and they are an excellent read and very helpful. You could get hand weight and some dyna bands and could do a pretty good workout just sitting down. Think about it :) You would burn calories and strengthen your muscles and lose inches to boot.

TTFN - it is waaayyy past my bedtime, hope I can sleep...goodnight.....

As I was reading all the post I and all the ideas to help you out with your weight loss this thought popped into my little head. Since you will be off you feet for soo long and it looks like you will be alone for a time while DH is off at work. I'm sure bordem is going to set in . We all know that with our weight problems bordem is one of the biggest challenges. So here is my idea. Have DH get you a small cooler and fill it with fresh veggies and fruit and have it with in arms reach. That way you won't be getting into stuff that will really mess up all you have done weight wise so far. Then when bordem sets in you can have what is know in WW circles as a healthy binge.

Can't hang around got to get myself together and I'm on the road again.

08-30-2001, 12:20 PM
Good morning everyone

I only got about a 90% on the last try, but I'm not giving up.

Slavika Would it be too much trouble to post the recipe. 4 points is not bad for a dessert.

Trudy: Did you get a good nights rest? I know just how frustrating this whole GERD can be. I'm with you all the way. It does get better with time as you learn to manage.

Maria: Karens' idea sound like a great one. And you know, it sound like you will be living the "life of Reilly" reading, snacks, being waited on.:D:

Lily: I guess it is all my fault, but we are having fun, and it does add a bit to the posts. I must admit it is faster and easier to just post-period. But I am really gald to know what to do.

Hi Geri, Glenda, Peggy. Hope everyone has a GREAT day. Ann

08-30-2001, 04:54 PM
 Ann I posted the "Individual Butter Tart Cheesecake" recipe under desserts in our recipe section that Lily set up for us. Here's a quick recipe that is actually called a "salad" but I like it as a dessert or a snack:
Slavika's Salad/dessert/snack Recipe
1 can drained Fruit cocktail OR
1 can drained crushed 14 oz Pineapple
plus 1 can Mandarin Oranges drained.
1 pak Sugar Free PEACH Jello
2 cups low fat creamed cottage cheese
2 cups ulta low fat Coolwhip
Combine all ingredients really well. Chill overnight or a few hours.
The whole recipe works out to 16 points.

If you like you can add 1/2 cup chopped nuts, but I never do.

P.S. I hate creamed cottage cheese, but I like it in this recipe. :)

08-30-2001, 08:37 PM
I feel out of the loop with all this color so I will have to try it too. All of the replies are are so cheery. Lily you really should be giving puter lessons. You are too smart. Wish you were closer. Slavika that recipe sounds yummy. I would use it as a dessert or snack too. Ann you are doing great on your computer. You are learning fast. Trudy I am wishing that you will be feeling soon. After reading about all the things that bother you and Ann I am starting to wonder if I have some of that. I know that nuts and lately onions really bother me. I hope that it never comes down to chocolate. I want to read those Strong Women books. Maria your surgery is coming up. Karen had some good ideas and so did Trudy. I hope that it goes well and that your dh takes good care of you. I bet that interview on Nixon was interesting. I would probably agree with some of your thoughts. I got an e-mail the other day - you would probably like it. If I still have it I will send it to you. It would go well on that site. Slavika keep looking for air rates - I am sure that you will find something. I am tired. I delivered 10 snowmen to my friend and then went and bought some more stuffing. I painted candles for the craft show. Have to run - someone is at the door.

08-30-2001, 09:52 PM
Hi Everybody
I had my hair cut today.......it's so short that I think it is even shorter then my DH. :)
My DIL had a doctor's appt. today and I went over to her house to wait for my grandchildren to come home from their first day of school. Well the Princess is just running as fast as she can, with her backpack just bouncing up and down she is so excited. She said she just loves Grade 1 and that it's not hard at all (she's been there one day LOL) and that she got to drink water two times this afternoon from the water fountain. :?: Then along comes my grandson. I ask, "so how was your first day in Grade 3"? He doesn't look very happy, and replies, "not good". Why I ask. He says, "the teacher spent the "WHOLE" afternoon teaching us the days of the week and the months of the year.....I think she would be better suited to teach kindergarten." I told him, maybe some children don't know that. He insisted that everybody learns that in kindergarten. He doesn't like changes in his life and I think he is just really missing the teacher he had last year. He'll adjust.....just not as quickly as his young sister. AHHHH. The thing is, the teacher he was to have is off on maternity leave and will be back at Christmas so he will have to adjust all over again.
The "Treasure Chest" book will be out in the next day or so.....I think you all get them in the States too. There is a coupon in there, put out by Northwest Airlines, for 15% off air fares, so that will soften the blow a bit.
So far I have done well in sticking to the WW plan, instead of some variation of own, but we have a long weekend coming up this weekend.
I hope you all have a nice evening. I'll pop by later.

08-30-2001, 11:27 PM
Maria: Both Trudy and Karen had some great ideas to help you while you are off your feet. Its gonna be hard but you will make it! I bet that interview with Nixon was good. Would be interesting to listen to. You posting now to? :D

Slavika: No way! I thought staying longer would be cheaper. Keep looking! Im sure you will find something. Sure sounds like you found a great jewler. Send him my way! I really would like to find someone like that. I have always wanted a special ring made. But everytime I ask its outrageous what they want. ALAS........ Recipe sounds Yummy!

Trudy: Hope you got a good nights sleep! Those books sound really good. Will have to check them out! I also leave my Ironing for 2 weeks. I know why to, Cuz I HATE IT! :dizzy:

Ann: I thought the posts were great! It was just funny seeing you all practice and all the colors! Only way to learn is to practice! I really thought thats how you were all doing colors in the first place.

Peggy: Doing good with the colors! When is your show? You are so busy making. Your just to crafty. The painted candles sound cool to!

Anybody doing anything fun this weekend? We are not just sticking around the house. Vacation is coming up soon tho! Yeah!!! Not going any where special this year like Hawaii ALAS.....

08-31-2001, 01:06 AM
Lily Hi there. It's not that the rates are higher to fly to Hawaii for a longer time, it's just that when I looked the rates up I thought they were in Canadian funds and they were in American funds which is a big difference. We have found fares now on Northwest for around $1250.00 Cdn. each, which are likely to be the best we will get.
I think we will decide over the weekend what to do and arrange our flights on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Talk to you tomorrow. Night Lily. :)

08-31-2001, 01:09 AM
Hi Everybody, please go to #134. Bye now.

08-31-2001, 02:14 AM
Had pretty good day with my Mom. Her knees and now ankle are getting so bad I really don't know how much longer she will be able to walk and be independant. That will really be hard on her when she can't do things for herself. She always loved to cook and made all kinds of new things no one even heard of. We were eating Lasagna when it appeared in a Better Homes and Gardens cookbook. No one else here had even heard of it before she served it a a family gathering. No wonder everyone wanted my Mom to do all the cooking. She would complain that all her 4 sisters and 2 sis in laws were dressed to the hilt and relaxing, while she slaved in the kitchen, but the food was always to die for. When I ask her how her day went, the answer will always be about what she was able to accomplish that day.
We did our usual shopping day and it went well as can be expected. I am trying the Mylanta and I must say, I don't feel really great after taking it, but I think better than any other antacid I have tried. I broke down and called my Doc., I see her on Tue afternoon and I guess that is when we make plans for further testing. I need help!
I am sure you gals will really enjoy the books by Mirian Nelson. They are about older women regaining their strength my working with hand weights. Some women in the 80' threw away their canes after doing the exercises. Very inspiring. I bought a buch of these books after being diagnosed with Fibro/Miofascial...I really needed to strengthen my muscles and it has worked for me....it sure can't hurt
Saw Slavika in her new haircut today. She looks so great! She was also wearing a "to die for" denim jacket. She sure does not look like typical BaBa - believe me. My Baba wore a babuska, and floral housedresses, her nylons would be rolled up to her knees, and she would say "OY" a lot. LOL
Thanks to all of you for your help and concern about my "problems", I know there isn't going to be a quick fix, but I am trying to get through it all with some humor and optimism. Thats's what I like about this bunch, we sincerely care about each other.
We were out playing cards tonight, and I am tired so off to bed I go. Have a great day tomorrow all...

Hi everyone! Tomorrow is weigh-in day for me. And wouldn't you know today is one of those days I could just eat the world. Drinking lots of water.

Lily: Well, for some reason the colors aren't working for me today. Just when I though I was getting the idea.
We are having big 'doins' here where we live. Monday Starting with breakfast, then games, then dinner and entertainment. Oh, I forgot Bingo. How could I forget that. That is one day of the week-end. As far as the rest, it will be just the same old stuff.

When I transfered my addresses from the web to the computer, I somehow lost the web address for our recipe page. Slavika, I'll send you an email, with the new address, and then could you please send it to me once again.

Did anyone try the chocolate cookies? That salad recipe looks great. I like cottage cheese and that is one way I can get my dh to eat it. Did you ever try a breakfast banana split? Not bad for a change of pace. Slice one small banana (1/2 large one)
in the bottom of your bowl. Place 1/3 cup of Cottage cheesse on top. Take two teaspoons of no sugar jelly, with a little water, melt in microwave and pour over the top of the cheese. Voila!! A sundae? Since I like a little crunch I add 1 TBS of grapenuts over
the top. REally not bad, and it comes to 4 points. Less if you leave off the grapenuts.

Hi to all. I'll be back tomorrow with the good:D: or bad:mad: nes after my weigh-in. Ann
