is anyone getting a crazy popup with login username and password
when they look at the thread The title bar on the popup is "tk1.storage.msn " it looks like it wants a .net passport login for some reason? This just started today for me?? anyone else getting it??
yes, I have a pop blocker as well - that works great - maybe one of us should send one of the moderators a pM about it - it has to be a server setup - I just wanted to make sure I hadn't possessed my pc or something ---
How do you get their PM's?
I received your email, thanks! I'll investigate it now. For those of you that are getting it, can you tell me what browser you use? IE, Firefox, etc? Did it just start yesterday or have you noticed it before?
I am using IE -- and honestly I can't remember if it was this morning or last night -- LOL I am thinking it started last night, but I am not positive about that -- but it us definately only happening on this site -- Thanks !
Suzanne - you must have gotten it fixed by now THANKS - NOT HAPPENING ANYMORE.... - but I'm using MAXTHON - and I don't get on much at night - but definitely noticed it this morning.
I usually use Firefox, and didn't notice the pop. I launched IE, and still didn't get it. Could you do me another favor? The next time any of you get the strange pop, could you make note of the ad banner that is showing either on the top or the right side of the page? It's probably related to one of those, and we can remove it from the loop.
I found something strange - I googled tk1.storage.msn to see what I could find out and a lot of people on a Bob Dylan reported seeing the same thing a few weeks ago. However, they don't run any ad banners at all, so it wasn't coming from an ad.
Have any of you run a spyware checker to see if you might be infected with something? Some types of spyware or adware will target specific websites or keywords, then launch various popups. For example, we got a lot of complaints from someone last year that was getting porn popups every time she visited 3FC. She had some type of adware that had hijacked her browser, and it targeted the keywords 'fat chick' to spawn porn, so she only got the ads when she came to our site. Naturally, she though we were serving them, lol.
I'm continuing to research this, but wanted to mention this as a possibility. If you have something like Lavasoft AdAware installed, you might want to scan your system and see if it spots anything.
