Me too!!!

Forums I love: support, food, chicks in control, maintainers

Moderators: ALL of them are great! Far too many to name but I do especially appreciate Ellis, Meg, Mel and Suzanne

Some of the most incredibly motivating chickies: Meg gets my award for most motivating! She has an amazing story to tell and she tells it in an articulate, knowledgeable, insightful and INTERESTING way! Thank you Meg, you are my hero!!!!
Others: MrsJim, Mel, Glory...............thanks for helping us all realize that is IS possible to succeed!

There are MANY others which I'll add as I think of them!

So many people!

SusanB, Mel, Meg, Ilene, Lucky, LLV, and of course the 3 lovely ladies who keep this site running so we all can post here along with so many more ladies who I know I appreciate every day and am just not thinking of.

I think the daily threads are very helpful because when I am not reading them I am usually going off plan, and when I *am* reading them I am thinking about how I can do better. But really, EVERYONE makes this site as awesome as it is! :D

What a neat thread. I love the mini-goal and support threads . I try to read them everyday. I also love the Atkins chat room and Maintainers chat room. I get such invaluable lessons from the others here. Having been at this new life-style for almost a year, the support here at home is dwindling. It's old news that mom is losing weight. They are sick of hearing it. So, I come here for my support. The exercise challenges really help me a lot, I feel guilty if I don't have any exercise to post for the day. The inspirational stories of Meg, Mel, Charles and Glory have helped me a great deal. I love to read their posts and believe that I , too, can be a maintainer.

I have so many I check out everyday, but I love the whole site and especially the inspirational before and after pics. I just discovered the Calorie Counters thread. There is so much info on this entire site. It can be overwhelming at times. I thank God for the three wonderful ladies that started this site. Thank you--a million times!!

Before/progress/after pictures are what initially drew me in, and still are a source of inspiration for me.

Watching my own ticker move. :)

I also get a LOT of recipe ideas, especially for vegetables.

Posting daily food intakes helps me a lot as well.

This may be the mother in me coming out but I have a soft spot for some of the young women here. They show grit, determination and wisdom for young'uns. A few I can think of are 2frustrated, blues4miles, sotypical and jillybean720 ....

I love the Goal stories, when i feel like i am having a bad day, or craving something i shouldnt, i simply sit there and read all the stories, afterwards i am inspired enough to go on, at least for another day anyway.

This is one of the reasons I was so glad to see the goal stories put into their own forum. At the top! I like reading them too. Especially when I am starting to lose my way.

There are a lot of familiar names... when I see them I have to read as they are always so helpful and supportive. Then there are new names or less familiar names that I see.. when I read many of these posts I am also inspired and energized.

Then of course a special kudos and hug to a few buddies who really seem to understand me. We are all equally lost yet since we are lost together we aren't really lost at all.

I really enjoy the Maintainers forum because I know that losing the weight is only half of the battle - the hardest part will be keeping it off! The maintainers are very inspirational and always ready to share good ideas with the rest of us to help make our goal weight permanent. Thanks Maintainers! :thanks:

I also really like the Calorie Counters forum. :)

I love the before and after pics. And I love that I log on here every morning and all the same people are here. And whether they respond to me or not, somebody reads my posts; it makes me feel like I have to report to someone.. I hope I never quit checking in here every morning. I will really feel guilty if I don't.

Accountability, yes! Very important.
I was moaning about something one day and Ilene actually cut and pasted my own thoughts on the subject! Reality check.

There's nothing like seeing your own words/ advice thrown right back at you when you are in need. It makes me even more sure that some part of me knows what is right at least some of the time. ;)

Jayde, LOVE, LOVE your signature. About the stored up calories. LOVE it. I never know what to say when someone says "Wow, you lost weight". Now I have an answer. "I was storing up calories for a really bad winter...which never materialized, thank God." :D :D

There are SO MANY, but one that I was particularly inspired by today was Goddess Jessica and her recent adventures. While she wants to lose weight for her health, she is not letting it stop her from living life.

Jessica, thank you for reminding me daily to LIVE instead of WAIT.

I love that we all have different backgrounds, and we all have different approaches to weight loss, and we're all here to support each other, it's fabulous!!!
YP1 is really inspiring to me. Without her influence, I never would have started running. And 2frustrated for just being :hyper: and enthusiastic all the time, and willing to try anything (almost :) ). And Sarah Ann for being the GI queen, and a weight lifting, hilly dog walking dynamo. And Veggie, for hanging in there and riding the ups and downs of weight loss. All my UK fat chicky friends are amazing!!!
I have had so much support from Dragonwoman (marge), Teapot Dynamo, Meg, so many others. The 100lb club are so important to me. Before I came here I thought I was the only really fat person in the world  and had no idea where to begin.
I have read and responded to so many posts, that all of you have inspired me at one time or another, and continue to do so every day.

Why thanks, Lilybelle! What a nice encouragement to find this while reading through this thread. You are a blessing to me also! And what an inspiration with your huge success!!!

I would have to say the people here are my favorite part. But I really like the Mini Goals, Support and challenge threads. I also love the progress pix! I also get a lot of practical advice and helpful tips on nutrition, exercise, attitude, etc. You are the only people on earth to whom I reveal my true weight LOL

And the fact that it is not a "one size fits all" mentality here but everyone encouraged to do what works for THEM and still receive support and cheering!

Woohoo...power to the young'uns ;) There are sooo many people I am inspired by on a regular basis, and so many more who have given me such wisdom and insight I never would have found anywhere else. I could probably list about 20 off the top of my head (some I don't remember screen names for, but I know their real names): Of course, the Howberly team, SwimGirl, Marge, Jen415, SusanB, Glory, Sarah (from the 100lbs section), Catherine (from the 300+ section), aaaall the girls in the 20s section, LLV, Harpo, kykaree, Kayley, all mods and the 3 main chicks, Misti, phantastica, older Jilly (from the 100lbs section), and soooo many more--some of these people haven't been on in a while or I haven't talked to in quite some time, but they've all left their mark in my journey :^:

By the size of me I don't think I was storing up just for a winter. I think I was storing up for a decade in Antarctica. :D

One bad thing about this forum, though I hate to admit...I seem to have replaced an addiction to food with another addiction.

I check out this forum at about 6:15 a.m., and then about 6:30 a.m. and then I wait til like....oh, 6:50 a.m. Then I drive to work & get on my computer and check out this forum at like 8:00 a.m. . . . . and then I make myself wait til like....8:15 a.m., and so on and so on.... Well, you get the idea.

I hear ya Mudbugs! But at least we're filling our heads with useful information.

Try this sometime. Go to the exercise accountability thread ... read ... post that you're going to walk around the block now ... then come back when you're back and post that you did. Yes ... I'm a bit of an internet junkie ...

I love this place so much. :) (Elizabeth, thanks, sweetie... I love you, too. )
I've made some wonderful friends here over the years. The sisters and other moderators and members... I've met a number of them, and I love them (you) all. In fact, I like the friends I've made here better than most of my "real-life" friends.
And get this... (this is creepy :lol3: ) one of the other moderators actually bought the house behind MINE!

Susan, I love your idea of walking around the block in between sessions online.

Exactly! That is my solution too. Although fortunately I can't go online at work. :)

BUT you are right... I find that if I am in the exercise challenges I am NOT going to go log in there and say "I didn't do much of nothin'!" when everyone is posting their totals! There have been a LOT of times when I have been inspired to shut down this thing and get out there moving my butt so I can be a part of the good reports!! :carrot:

Yup, when I know I've been lazy and find myself on the internet only talking about exercise.. I do just this... I post that I am going to.. I then walk or do whatever exersice and then come back to say I have. How could I possibly say I was going to do something and not do it. My head would hang so low you'd think I was in competition with an oversized sunflower.:o )

I love the exercise threads. They get me to get up and move. I want to be able to report that I did some exercise too. If everyone else can do it, so can I. Also, love see everyones progress pic's for inspiration.
