Okay, I went to see my new COD and she said to review the purple plan and see what I thought ?? Now I am on the blue plan and I only lost 1.5 pounds in 6 days but , she said they would review my plan @ my next visit but to review the purple plan no lites. I know how many fruits, veg , protein but I wondered if anyone can give me the breakdown for breakfast - 1 starch 2 fruit and same for lunch, dinner and snacks. I just need to know what to eat when ?
Sorry she didn't really tell me anything about the purple plan just to view it, like I have that info ?? Don't know where. Any help would be great Thanks Stacey

Stacy--look on the "different LAWL plans" thread and there is a breakdown for purple--it's almost the same as Gold except 1 more veggie and 2 more ounces of the protein portions. I have to say "only" losing 1.5 pounds in 6 days is really good--and remember it will slow down the closer you get to goal. My weeks were never consistent regardless of my weight--some weeks I just lost more/or less than others. Let us know if you have anymore questions--someone is bound to know around here.

I have to agree with Boos here. I'm on Purple with no Lites, and doing about 1.8 per week, sometimes more, sometimes less.

And BTW ... WELCOME! :)

Hey ladies! I'm so glad to hear this! Congratulations! I too opted to go on purple even though I have access to the lites at staff cost. Keep it up everyone :)

Oh btw Stacey, I'm not sure where you're from but some LAWL markets are different for example in training they told me that blue was no longer a menu drop option for no lites. Gold and Green qualifiers are to be put on purple. That's what my area was told (I'm in southern Alberta) I guess it depends on franchise or corporate *shrugs*

Now I am on the blue plan and I only lost 1.5 pounds in 6 days

Losing 1.6 pounds in 6 days is wonderful-nothing to be disappointed about at all. A healthy rate of weight loss is UP TO 2 pounds per week-usually 1/2 to 2 pounds per week.

I know that the counselors aim for 2 pounds per week, but your weight loss isn't going to be like clockwork where you lose exactly 2 pounds per week. In my opinion, if you are losing about 1.6 pounds per week or the 1.8 pounds per week etc. like some of the other ladies on this plan, then you are on the right plan for you right now.

If you switched, and lost more than 2 pounds per week regularly-then you weight loss is actually a little *too* fast to be the healthiest for you. (Unless it is only in the first couple weeks, where larger losses are caused by water loss/less food in the digestive tract because of the sudden change of lifestyle.)

The reason why I am mentioning this, is because in your post you used the phrase "ONLY 1.6 pounds", when you are actually right in the target range of the rate for healthy loss.

Take Care,
Aphil

Ive been on every color so far...mainly Blue, then Gold when I dropped more weight/exercised less, then down to Green near goal, then back to Blue when more exercise was brought back in and now, since I dropped lites, I am at Red since I run 3-5 miles per day about 4 times per week. Strange...

Wow Deetsmom! How's red working for you? Red is designed for people who work long hours or students or hypoglycemics and oral diabetics and especially for people who do 5 + hours of cardio per week. I'm glad you shared this because i'm surprised they'd switch you to red so close to goal. It makes sense i just need to study my knowledge on green some more

what are long hours and what is considered students (I would think the regular student would do less "work" then most others..so just wondering)

Yea really, Shennie...I am frickin running after 3 kids under 7 all day, running all over town and working at home when they go to bed, no down time at all...not to mention an average of 5hrs of cardio/strength per week. Im so glad I quit my center, all this discrepancy BS...Ive had enough of it already...

I mean, on a GOOD day, I am still not taking in any more than 1200 calories on red without lites, that is NOT enough food to lose with my activity level...I am done with LAWL's hoodoo voodoo....

Deets--I'm no expert but do you think maybe you aren't getting enough calories. I think 1200 is really low considering your home/work schedule and the exercise you put in.

NO DOUBT, exactly my point in replying about being surprised that I would be put on red at all. Red isnt even enough and its a struggle to get teh calories higher, as I am still sticking to LAWL. I have been upping them this past week, when I realised if my heart rate monitor tells me my run burned 600 calories, and Im only eating 1275 in the day, its anorexic type calorie intake for the day at just 675 and thats not even counting basal metabolic needs. I am trying to get 1400 per day and adding in extra protein and such to keep the 30-30-40 balance similar to what Heather was talking about before.

I see--I was really confused--your poor body is starving. I would love to see a typical 30-30-40 day for you, HeatherPP.

Here I am. It's has been crazy with the end of school and being home with the 2 little ones (keeping them busy).

Anyway...I'm on the red plan and I get something like 2000 calories. At the end of the day, it seems I always have something left to eat. I only have to think they gave you some other plan with a red cover on it! That's crazy! :dizzy:

are you red with lites? I dont use lites...I have a "real red" book:) I use fitday to track the food and it always comes up under 1300

deetsmom

I dunno what to tell you, Ive been tracking on fitday for over a month, the numbers dont lie...

hollybeary

I use the lites on my plan. But still the food amounts are huge. 2.5P, 4V, 3F, 3S, 1D, 1Fa, plus 3 condiments and the lites. I feel like I'm eating all the time!

deetsmom
06-14-2006, 11:11 PM
yes, its a ton of food, good pure food- and no lites for me...the numbers ive tracked are not wrong, the calorie level is still low for my level of activity was the only point mentioned.

Red is more than 1200. Maybe ask about stepping up to Red 1... As for students, some students have long hours and sparatic class schedules. I myself am still in University. Believe me I put in long hours. Of course not over the summer though :)

Deets,
I feel your frustration. People are only inquiring hoping they can help. I hope you figure out what works best for you.

Im not going to argue this anymore, this is silly at this point..my calorie intake IS at this number 1200-1300 on red without lites- the end. Its not a problem or a discrepancy, its a fact. I am NOT struggling nor unsatisfied..just commenting on color plans, which like most COD info is inconsistent at very best.

I wish this is somthing that would also be consistent. I don't even think I was ever asked if I was in school and working a full-time job, being a full-time mom w/ DS in every sport there is, and being a full-time gradfduate student with practicums my days always start at 6 and I don't get home until 10 on good days. How much longer cana day get?:dizzy: Consistency can we please get some consistency from these COD's:?:

Well--I can only speak for myself but I like my center and I like the program. I've no doubt I've complained about one or the other at frustrating times but because of the success I've experienced I still believe in them both. We've all discussed the fact that the counselors are not nutritionist or dieticians (for the most part--we have one) so the beauty of this site is we can gain extra education through the advice of others. The more we learn here the more prepared we are when we need to ask questions at the center.

Strange, Ive been on this site for almost a year and never bashed the programa nd obviously it was extrememly successful, not perfect though and THAT is the point.

Everyione-please try to remain polite and civil. :) Thank you. ;)

I would like to add, that with a food exchange plan, that there can perfectly well be a difference in the calories consumed each day-depending on the individual food choices.

For starters-if whatever plan you are on allows for 2 fruits a day-then one person may have two small apples (at 80 calories each, equalling 160 calories...) and the next person may have 2 cups of strawberries for their fruits (at 45 calories per cup...equaling 90 calories total for their 2 fruits.
That is a 70 calorie difference right there, and that is just in the fruit category.

For the same two people, let's say they are allowed two servings of dairy. One person may be choosing two servings of yogurt-and the particular brand they choose may be 100 calories per serving, and the next person may choose a different brand that is 80 per serving. There is another 40 calorie difference each day. These two "made up people" have a calorie difference in their diet now of 110 calories, and this is only using their dairy and fruit...if these two people continue to be on the same color plan, but one person is eating the "higher calorie" food exchanges, and the other person on the lower end...then it is VERY possible that by the end of the day, with their proteins, starches, and veggies-that there could be a few hundred calories difference-without EITHER of them being wrong.

Just my opinion....

Aphil

Deets- I can totally understand your frustration and not wanting anymore "advice" on what you should be doing;) I've read your posts on this board for so long and we have all given you advice and the COD has given you advice-all of it conflicting, of course! Anyway-I'm glad you are happy with what you're doing now-you're at a enviable size and obviously getting into great shape! Congrats!

BTW-I also use fitday (love it!) and am on red with lites-although many days I add in some exchanges because my exercise level is so high right now. So I sometimes add a dairy and maybe a fruit. Occaisonally an extra starch. So-I end up somewhere between red and red 1. And-my average calorie intake is around 1600-if you took out the lites it would be 1260. So-you're right-the numbers don't lie!

While I think most of us go through periods of being extremely disgusted with our respected CODs and the corporation as a whole-I think most of us would still recommend the program to others. It's the most balanced diet I've ever been on-and I know my body and my lifestyle and how I need to adjust the program to fit it. Cuz I don't care what the manager of my COD says-distance walking is exercise;) I'd like to see her walk 16 miles and tell me again it's doesn't count toward the 5 hours required to move up a plan;)

deetsmom-
Just putting that out there. Sometimes when a post or two is taken the wrong way-things can go downhill fast.
