LA Weight Loss - The LAWL Center book and frozen meals

Have any of you incorporated frozen meals to your plan and if so, what are your favorites? I've been shopping around and have found some new Lean Cuisine meals that are not on the list.....are they okay to buy or do we stick to the choices listed on the meal guide? :?:

Right now, i'm loving the CEDARLANE EGGPLANT PARMASEAN!! (sp) yummy....

I eat frozen lean cuisine or WW meals almost every day for lunch. I find them essential to not getting bored with my choices. I make a killer salad from the cafeteria salad bar and I'm all set . . . .I don't bother to look at the approved "choices" in the meal planner-they are all pretty similar and I've had success on the plan so far . . .

thanks for your help juliemarie. you're always the first to answer me!! :)

No problem-I'm always willing to tell people to ignore their COD;) LOL!

i have been using lean cuisines for about 3 months now and also ww meals and healthy choice meals. they are perfect for when you dont want a big meal or have a lot of time to fix a meal

I try to use the meals in the book as guidelines - they are so hopelessly out of date, but try to pick meals similar in nutritional value as those in the book. I don't do them very often.

I did have an Amy's Kitchen enchilada bowl this week and it was really good. To me, the frozen meals always seem to use too many green or red peppers - like that's the only thing that is going to add flavor.... blechhhh

I've been hearing that doing the frozen meals everyday is not a good thing because of all the sodium. Do you gals agree? I'm using them twice a week at the most.

They should update the meals in the book. I'm such a stickler for what's written in black and white. I'm beginning to think I have OCD being on this diet. Sticking to all the rules. I have to remember that they are giving us tools to use as a guideline. Haha!!!

I'll look at the nutritional values like you suggested hkychik. Thank you.

Have any of you tried the LC Panini Sandwiches? Another yummy meal!! Very filling for me.

the paninis are yummy! as for the sodium-i decided a little extra water weight was better than me eating something off-plan cuz I got bored with grilled chicken salads for lunch . . .I only WI once a week, or every 2 weeks-so I do the lemon water thing the day before a WI.

I'm not completely sold on the sodium thing-it's not like it keeps you from losing fat. But I am a lot more conscious about the sodium content of my foods and try to do the best I can.

how much more water are we talking about? right now i'm averaging about 114 oz of water. i know, i know.... i'm addicted to water. plus it's TOM and I feel bloated right now.:o

right now i'm averaging about 114 oz of water.

How in the world are you able to drink that much water? That is 14.25 glasses of water--I am amazed. I thought I was drinking alot when I had 10 glasses a day!

Merem--for me it just became habit--I have a favorite 25oz. glass and I drink 2 before lunch, 2 before dinner, and one more between dinner and bedtime. I didn't drink it on the days we were in the car for 11 hours because of potty breaks and I had a killer headache.

Let's see. I guess i'm like Boo'sMom (Lea Ann) . It just became habit! I also have this 33 oz bottle that I drink from. I'll have 2 of those and then I have this jug that I got from 7-11 which is 52oz or so and I drink from that throughout the day. I love water and I'm a pisces!! haha!

I agree with you Julie Marie. My counselor was getting on my case about having LC too much. She said no more than once or twice a week. But the book says up to 5 times a week. I know that I need to watch the sodium...but like Julie Marie said...I'd rather go over on sodium than on fat and calories.

I get too hungry on frozen meals. They just don't compare to 8 oz of chicken, ya know? However, I do love getting to have stuff like pasta and potatoes. Hmmm, now I am wondering about buying a few.

Katie-as long as I pair it with a good salad-it's plenty of food.

I am a huge fan of the frozen meals. Healthy Choice and Lean Cuisine are good. I havent tried any of them that arent listed in the book tho, and those panini's, well I have been eyeing them for sometime! My favorite is the Lean Cuisine Chicken Carbonera. Omg I love the sauce! And pairing it up w/ a small salad= a full, satisfied tummy, so I am w/ ya on that one!!

Well girls, I have successfully been 197 lbs since the 17th of May. I am soooo frustrated. I have been OP. So today I go in for WI and I am going to see if there is something I can do to bust this plateau. I dont want to miss my goal weight date and I would love to get half my money back!! I am going to try the lemon water thing tonight too. (How often can I do this anyways girls? Everyday?) I am sure if I hit the gym it would help out too. Any suggestions? Who has been in this situation??? Its very discouraging! I will ask my COD tonight @ WI as well.

Back to the frozen meals. I have them every other day...I dont have them everyday because the book tells me 5 times a week and to avoid everyday situations....and I dont wanna put anything in jeopardy...but it looks like it wouldnt have mattered anyways with this stupid 197 lbs hanging around forever!! ;)

Hi Kristi!
Thanks for asking about me. Things are going good..I'm back in counseling and am still doing the program. So far, so good.
Hope all is well with you too...skinny-minny!!

The frozen meals are fine up to 5 times per week. Just try to mix it up a little. The LC spa's are an excellent choice. As for the newer dinners that aren't on the menu they will be updated and added soon. At least in the franchise centres. I've been informed that they're working on updating most everything :)

Pink--don't sweat the goal date--if you are OP and keep the diary they will extend your weeks for free--I am 4 weeks over and still 8 lbs to goal--They KNOW the closer you get to goal the slower the loss will be--with the Jillian Michael's calculator I would have to eat 700 calories a day to lose 2lbs/week!! As if. Hang in there--it WILL happen. I know it's frustrating but the results have to follow all this hard work. Maybe try no frozen meals for a week just to see if it jump starts you. I try to only have 1-2 per week--just me.

Radio--so glad you posted and things are going well.

Chaos--are you by chance a counselor at a center?

Lea ann- I JUST asked that same question in another thread!!!!!

too funny--I just responded to it!!
