What music do you listen to...
What music do you listen to when working out? What inspires you? I am always changing up my workout rotation on my ipod but a few standards (albeit cheesy and I can't believe I am admitting this standards) are:
A New Day, Celine Dion
Power of Love, Luther Vandross
Cup of Life, Ricky Martin
Angel, Lionel Ritchie
Survivor, Destiny's Child
Sometimes when I'm on the treadmill at the gym I will get into the song and start to get emotional who knows I think it is because I feel so proud of myself or something, like I'm "living it" you know?

I have two inspirational songs on my iPod that I listened to every day during the year that I was losing weight - Win by R. Kelly and There Will Come A Day by Faith Hill. I know what you mean about getting emotional because both those songs just speak to me, ya know?
Other than that, everything else I listen has a great beat for cardio. My son said he told his friends that Mom has Social Distortion and Danzig on her iPod and they couldn't believe it. Guess there's life in this old body yet ... bwah ha ha ha!

I like to listen to rock and soul sometimes. Like Fleetwood Mac, and Taylor Hicks from AI.

I listen to everything. I make playlists for my ipod. Its everything from Rock (AC/DC) to techno (ATB) to country (Garth Brooks) to current hits (shakira hips dont lie) i find that the more you mix it up, the better it is. Keeps you entertained. If you want anymore specific examples let me know. I am queen of the random mixes

I have several playlists depending on the beat I am looking for (warm-up, cool-down, workout, dance). As far as inspirational songs go, here are some of my favorites:

I Still Believe - Tim Cappello (Lost Boys soundtrack)
Watch Me Shine - Vanessa Carleton
Fighter - Christina Aguilera
I Don't Want to Be - Gavin DeGraw
Unwritten - Natasha Beddingfield
I'm On My Way - Proclaimers
You Can Get It If You Really Want - Jimmy Cliff
Video - India Arie
I Will Not Be Broken - Bonnie Raitt
You Gotta Be Bad - Desiree
Shimmer - Shawn Mullins
Faith of the Heat - Russell Watson (Enterprise theme)
Oh, and The New Workout Plan by Kanye West is TOO funny

I listen to punk rock during cardio, and do warm ups/cooldowns to broadway. I'm random like that. Anything with a good, strong beat helps me a LOT.
Favorites:
Giant - Melissa Etheridge
I Want to Conquer the World - Bad Religion
Atomic Garden - Bad Religion
The Decline - NOFX (This song is almost 17 min long, most of it great for heart pumping cardio. I like it because I'll be singing along and almost 17 min have passed by the time its over).
21st Century Digital Boy - Bad Religion
Another Postcard (From Chimpanzees) - Barenaked Ladies
and one entire album for you....
"Are a Drag" by Me First and the Gimme Gimmes - this is basically an album of punk covers of broadway songs - so random, I know, but it lets me get my showtunes fix to a much stronger, faster beat.

I either listen to random CDs (all country or classic rock) Or, i make a mix from songs i have downloaded, which is mainly country but is very random. I hear something i like, i download it (legally, of course) Im very well-rounded with my music, i think. hehe
