Hi G, Had to go away for work again. This trip was a killer, out to WA state, I tried going to Mt. Rainier after work, ended up spending alot of time in the car (so not alot of walking) and eating way too late. I'm almost back on track, I didn't drink my water either, so now I'm back to drinking and running to bathroom, my poor body's not used to it already. :( oh well, it's another lesson learned, you always have to pay attention. Congrats, you're almost to 20, too, that's great!! Every little pound and part of a pound adds up.
Welcome, Amy, it's good to have those little incentives, keep working toward your keychain. I always suggest taking your measurements, too, especially at the beginning when you really don't want to take them. Believe me you'll be amazed at the difference, and sometimes seeing your measurements get smaller will get you through when the scale doesn't cooperate.
If you see NSV in a forum, it's non scale victories, it took me awhile to figure that one out :D it's like a pair of pants that you can get into that you couldn't before, or like on this trip, I didn't feel like I was much more comfortable on the plane than I have been on other trips. Best of luck.
Continued success to all of us!!

Hey K,
So glad your back on track. I'm also glad you told me about the NSV cause this week the scale didn't move but my pants are getting way bigger so I'm not gonna fret too much. I guess I'll have too increase my exercise. For my Birthday my family is giving me a membership to the local fitness center and there is not contracts so we're not stuck paying if I don't find something there to do I love, maybe this will help put me back on the losing track. Anyway heres to a better week for all of us..............Gina

Hi everyone! Thanks for the welcomes and the advice. I was down another pound, at least according to the meeting's scale! (I weigh myself at home too and it was even more than that). I'm glad my numbers keep going down! I dread when I start reaching plateaus. Our meeting was all about exercising yesterday. I've been successful losing weight in the past by exercising, and I'm still recovering from surgery so I can't exercise right now (at least not with any real intensity), which is disappointing.

Hello Ladies,
I used to post in here before summer, but then got side tracked! Imagine that. I coach high school volleyball and we are at the end of our season. We have one week left for sure, possible 2 if we keep winning! After volleyball is over, I am back to weight watchers. I live in a very small town so we only have 1 meeting a week and it is at 5:00, right in the middle of practice. So that is my plan. I will be posting! Good luck everyone!

Hello all,
Well, I said it was a rough week away in WA, it showed at the scale, up 1.6, dang it!! I think I'm back on track now. I've been tracking everyday and really trying to get that water in. Can't be eating that late at night, and not exercising at the level I was. Anyhow, congrats to all and thanks for being here for me :D

Hey Keli,
I know how you feel didn't lose anything for a couple of weeks but finally got a loss this week. On my way now to sign up for a gym, which is to good to pass up. It's $15.00 a month, no contract and no sign up fee. May be if I go atleast 3 days a week it will move the scale a little better. Good Luck to all!!

Congrats on the loss, Gina. I'm nervous about tomorrow, but I can't seem to get too hard on myself. Exercising is going good, lots of walking, but I started out tracking and then quit after a couple days, I don't know why, just stopped. If I don't track I don't lose as well.
Now we have Halloween and my birthday Sat. This has always been a time of year where things can spiral out of control, next thing you know Thanksgiving, Xmas, New Years. Our leader says if you're not trying to do something you can easily gain 10 lbs. over the holiday season.
Scarier than Halloween isn't it!! So, I guess if we're maintaining or slowly losing we're ahead of the game!
see you later! Hopefully I'll be moving the slider tomorrow, the right way this week :D

I know what you mean, some weeks are harder than others and then the holidays coming up it is a stressfull time of year maybe together we can get each other thru. I guess it's just how bad we want the change in our life and in our bodies. Happy Birthday on Saturday!! Mine was last Friday,I even made my diet BD cake. Good Luck today and don't be nerveous.
Here's to a fresh start!

Oh, I forgot to post! I was down 2.4 pounds at my last weigh-in! I sort of binged a little last night between a Halloween party and candy (and PMS isn't helping matters). I didn't count my points, just wrote in my log book "Halloween" and crossed off all my flex points for the rest of the week. I hope I can be on my best behavior until Monday and not go over my daily points! If I do, hopefully I'll still see a loss this week.

We're all doing great!! I lost 1.4 of the 1.6 I gained last week, with Halloween and all so I'm thrilled, feel like I'm back on track. Congrats to both of you.
Gina on 20 lbs. and Amy on 10 lbs.!! That's great. You guys are inspiring me! Will track and drink water this week, those are my goals. Have a great weekend.
Thanks and happy belated birthday, Gina!! :D

Hey everyone! I skipped the weigh-in yesterday. I knew it wouldn't be great news (thanks to Halloween and an extended PMS period this month) and didn't want to deal with that. I went to the meeting though! I shared a NSV and people sort of laughed at me at first, but I explained and they seemed to like what I said. I got new glasses last week (I have pretty bad vision and can't deal with contacts), but I went for a bolder frame that definitely attracts more attention to me than my old glasses, or at least I feel they do. And I don't think I would have felt confident enough to go for these frames unless I was feeling good about myself. So that's something, right?
GinaG
11-06-2007, 02:58 PM
Wow Amy you sound really confident, I bet your glasses are amazing. Hey Keli I hope your weigh in goes well tomorrow. My plateau is over this week, I guess adding some working out to the diet helps. Progress on endurance is slow, but I have gone from 15 mins to 20 mins with out getting sick so I'm making progress.

Hello, took me awhile to find this thread again.
Congrats on the 3 pounds Gina, that's great. I think I might be down a pound, I'll be happy with that. My birthday was Sat. so we went out for a nice lunch and brought home a yummy dessert.
Congrats, too on being able to exercise, I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't.

Okay - I am back. I acutally got to go to the meeting tonight! YEAH!! I talked to my leader, and we decided that I might do better if I start the program over again. I am only down 6lbs from where I started the program last summer, so I too thought that maybe the newness may help! Anyway, I will keep you all updated!
Had a good week, lost 2! Yay!! We tried low carb, it got me looking at Core. I'm going to try it. I think I can do it now, I'm excited to be doing something different. My leader says she switches back and forth. She says Core is good practice for maintenance. Can't wait to get there :D
Hope all is well with you guys. I'm going to Calif. with my brother for a few days and weigh-in is the day I get back, so I'm a bit nervous about the outcome, but whatever happens we'll deal with it. I'm planning on going for lots of walks.

Greetings! :) I just joined the WW boards here about 2 days ago. My weigh-in day/meeting day is on Tuesday so I thought I would see if it's ok if I hang out with you all. :) I am so off track, I can't seem to get myself back in the right direction with my WW program even though I am still going to Meetings. I thought maybe if I started coming here, it would encourage me to try harder. With the Holidays right around the corner, it's going to be even tougher. I wonder if I'll even be able to "get" back on track right now, but I really do not want to wait til Jan or Feb. I feel like I really need this "now". Thanks for listening.

11-13-2007, 10:30 AM
Hi Tink! I think now's a great time to join. My meetings are on Mondays and the focus of our meeting last night was planning strategies for Thanksgiving. We jotted down what we'd like to eat and how many points that would be, and I'm actually going to take that with me as a reminder not to overindulge too much. I think it's possible for me to at least maintain over the holidays, and I'd like to actually lose some weight. It's possible! Someone at our meeting last night told us she originally reached her lifetime membership status in early January years ago (she's back because she has since put some of her weight back on).
I lost another 2 pounds yesterday! I'm just two pounds above where I was before I got pregnant with baby #2. I'm going to try to work in some exercise now. My foot is really starting to feel so much better!
So I'll be trying to walk some during my lunch hour and doing some toning tapes at night. I have a gym membership too, but my doctor said I should start just using the bike first. We'll see about that. I'm so relieved I've been able to lose weight while recovering from surgery because I was so afraid I'd just sit around and eat all the time and gain weight. It's a good feeling going into the holidays after losing weight for a few months. That gives me some momentum to keep losing rather than thinking "Well, I'll probably just gain weight anyway, so I might as well eat everything I want!"
Good luck at all your weigh-ins today!

Sounds like everyone's doing great. Congrats again Gina, looks like you're closing in on 30 lbs. that's great.
Tink, if you can keep going to your meetings it just might start coming together for you. That's what I did. It took me awhile to get back on track. This is the time when it's important to not give up.
Our leader was giving us the horror stories about how much weight you can gain over the holidays, 10 lbs. easily from Thanksgiving to New year's, so Amy's right if we can even maintain over the holidays we're ahead of the game.
Luck and good week to all!!

Thanks for the encouragement! :)
Amy, congrats on the 2 lb loss, that is great! :)
Going to the meetings is what is keeping my sanity I think. I keep telling myself not to stop going to them even if I am gaining. I did gain about 1/2 lb this weigh in but I'm going to keep trying to hang in there. I've been going to WW for probably about 5 months now. I've done better the last two days. Not as good as I could do, but enough I think to feel hopeful that "maybe" I am heading back to the "track". **smile**
We also went over our Thanksgiving dinner list/points. It was kind of fun. :)
I hope all of you have a great week! I'm glad I found this thread. :)

I had a rough weigh-in today. I was away on vacation and thought I did pretty well, but got in late last night/early this a.m. and weighed in at home and was up 5 lbs. I almost cried!! I walked every day and drank water and ordered without cheese and all this kind of stuff and was up so much. My leader said it's from being on the plane. She said that you retain water and that's probably alot of it. We'll see, but now I get back on my regular plan.
We talked about Thanksgiving and pts. and such it was a good meeting for us, too. Hopefully we'll get enough people for another session.

Hey everyone, I've been bad this week I didn't even write in on Tuesday. I was down 2.5 pounds but put it back on with bad choices and not exercising, had a really rough TOM this week. But I'm going to get back on track so far today I've stayed on course.
Keli I'm sure your leader is right about fluid retention from the flight you will be down big time next weigh in I just know it.
It so great the Tuesday weigh in is growing we will need each other for sure through this holiday season. Good luck to you all and is there a WW pumpkin pie recipe out there?

My home scale is starting to drop, so I'm feeling better. We don't have weigh in this week because of thanksgiving, so I gave myself a little goal for this time, first I have to get off what I put on :D I really want to get in the 160s. Once again, I'm afraid we're not going to get enough people, they said if we don't get enough for Dec 6th we won't start 'til Jan, I guess people will be working on their New year's resolutions. It's scary to think of not having WW for the holidays, I'll have to go to a regular meeting. There's a Tues. at a church that's not too far away.
Gina, you're so right, we need each other during this season. We'll do great!! Half the battle is being aware there are dangers lurking afoot :D I like your tracker, I'll have to look for a holiday one.
I weigh in on Thurs. at work, but when I wasn't going at work was always a tuesday weigher.

Thanks for the encouragement! I ended up skipping my meeting last night. Things didn't go as planned on Thanksgiving. My toddler fell down the stairs at my mom's house so we took her to the ER. She was fine, but they did say she had a sinus infection (and the rest of us caught colds). We got back from the hospital around when we were having dinner, so I was starving and ate. Although I was sort of numb from the whole experience. It sucked.
Anyway, got back from our trip Sunday around 4, had to unpack, and went to work Monday morning. I was still feeling sick so I left work early, and just curled up in bed for the rest of the night. That felt really good. After falling off the wagon on Thanksgiving I didn't want to weigh in anyway. I'm refocusing this week and plan to have a great weigh-in next week!

Thanksgiving is a killer!! I had been sick, so hadn't been eating alot, but was better for the big meal. Took me awhile to eat, but I managed to get it in. I had a temporary crown put on Weds. so I could only chew on one side :D don't worry, though, I managed to put on a few lbs. How frusterating :p Will find out tomorrow. I don't know what the problem is, I'm having some trouble getting on track.
I have now decided if I maintain over the holidays or lose 1 or 2 I'll be happy. No big goals, I was beating myself up for not making one of my small goals and am afraid of getting down and giving up.
Thank god for you guys, it's good in a way to hear that I'm not alone :D
sorry about your Thanksgiving, Amy, that sucks, hopefully you'll all feel much better soon.
Gina, There's a tuesday night meeting not too far from my house. I think I'll give it a try. I was saying to DH tonight, I'm hesitant about starting over with a new group, but I know it'll be good once I get going. Thanks again for your support. I do appreciate it!

Hi All! I have finally got myself back and track and for once and excited to weigh in on Tuesday. I have worked out everyday this week and tracked my foods really well. I weighed myself at home today on my scale and am down 3.5! Of course, that is my home scale, but it is usally within a few tenths of a point from WW weigh in. Anyway, I thougth I should post since I haven't been doing that! I will post again after the meeting on Tuesday night! Have a good week!
I have a quick question - I keep trying to post a ticker, and it will only post as a link. Any ideas why?
Hi Alli! I'm with you, I'm actually excited for my weigh-in (mine's tonight). I don't know what to say about the ticker, that's a strange problem. If you don't get an answer here, maybe you can PM a moderator.
I believe I should get my 10% keychain tonight! It seems that even if the scale won't budge all week and I know I'm being good, the scale finally shows results on weigh-in day. So cross your fingers for me to still be down a few pounds by weigh-in time. I'll drink tons of water but stop around 2-3 so it can all leave my system by 5:30.
NSV to report: I went shopping yesterday and it was actually fun! Shopping hasn't been fun for so long now. I suppose being pregnant for most of the past two years had something to do with it, but even after having the babies I've been shopping for anything that remotely fit my body.
But not yesterday! I drove to a bigger city an hour from my house and committed to a day of shopping, and not coming home until I had some new clothes that fit. I started at Lane Bryant and I'm mostly fitting into 14/16's there! A big change from the last time I went over the summer, when 18's were tight. (I did buy one pair of pants that were 18s, but another that were 14's). Then I went to Kohl's and spent THREE HOURS trying on a million things. I ended up buying a pair of 16W Dockers (never would have tried them on a couple months ago) and a skirt.
Oh, and this isn't related to my weight-loss, but I bought my first pair of shoes since having my bunion surgery a couple months ago. They're flats, but they're so cute and I was excited to put them on and not have them instantly hurt like everything I tried on before the surgery.
I also finished up my Christmas shopping, so it wasn't a totally selfish shopping spree. :) But I needed some new clothes to get through the holidays. I have three parties this week alone! And my work clothes were looking awful on me.
Anyway, I'm hoping these clothes will fit through the next 20 pounds, give or take. Because then I think I'll have enough of my old clothes to wear again. I didn't get to wear most of them for long before getting pregnant with baby #1. It'll be exciting to shop in my own basement!
Wow, this post got really long. I'm sorry, I'm just so excited to really start seeing results. I mean, my clothes were getting baggy but I hadn't really tried to go shopping and see what size I really am. So I guess if the weigh-in doesn't go my way tonight, I can console myself by wearing all my cute new clothes.

Hi Allie, I don't know if they work the same, mine is a 3fatchicks tracker but before the url is has and after it has when you go into edit signature see if it has that. Maybe that'll make it work. Good luck tonight! Proud of you for coming back! I'm going to have to start going at night, I already miss weighing at lunch time :D
Hi Amy, great job!! I'm so proud of you, you'll get your 10%, if not tonight maybe next week, but you'll definitely get it, you're doing great. I remember going shopping and taking jeans in I thought were my size and they were all big, it was the first time in a long, long time that I was happy shopping, that's a great feeling, isn't it?!
DH and I walked outside last night and tonight, which was definitely an NSV! Here in PA it's around 20 degrees around the time we get home from work. The NSV part was being outside and feeling great and alive and strong. Can't wait to get this 20 off, but I'm cautious about putting too much pressure on myself through Christmas. I have a tendency to beat on myself and even though I know it's not healthy and all, I still do it when I don't make my goals, so I'm setting teeny ones for the holidays.
Hi Gina, You're going great, too! 27 lbs. that's awesome!! I just have to get my butt to the meeting :o Maybe I'll start next Tues. I'm talking myself into waiting 'til after Xmas but that's probably not the best idea :dizzy:

I had an awesome week! I lost 5.6lbs! Yeah! Finally! I worked really hard this week and it payed off! I leave for Chicago for the weekend Friday - that is going to be the tough part! I will just have to think how awesome it felt this week when I got on the scale and saw my progress!
Amy- How'd you do this week, I'm excited to hear!
Keli & Gina- I totally understand how you can talk yourself into waiting to get started again. I had to do that with volleyball. I just wasn't making time for myself to work out and pay attention to what I was eating. I set the goal for myself about half way through the season that I was going to start when it was over. I feel like I am tons more dedicated to it! Maybe that is the jumpstart you need!
Hope everyone has a great week! Oh ya, I figured out my ticker! :) Yeah me!!!

Sorry, I wasn't on a computer much yesterday, but I made my 10%! Yay me!
Last night I went to a party with an open bar and I didn't behave. But I decided the best strategy to get back on plan is to just forget last night happened, don't count any of the points, and just carry on my regular points counting. In other words, if I counted all the points I wouldn't have any flex points for the week and I'd use that as an excuse to eat what I like for the rest of the week, and that's very counterproductive. I'll try to be conscientious and not use up all the rest of my flex points this week, but if I do I'm not going to beat myself up over it. :)

I managed to incorporate good fitness habits, walked way more days than not. Lost 25 lbs. since Jan. according to my calendar. Went down a couple sizes, lost my extra chin. Sorry ist's been awhile since I've been on , but I guess everyone knows the holidays can be stressfull. On the 7th of Dec. my DD was cited as an accomplice for shoplifting when a friend of hers was caught with store items in her purse, my DD was already in line paying for her stuff but they accuse her of knowing the friend was stealing because they were sharing a dressing room. So I've have been major depressed this holiday season I know this will pass but its just very stressfull because I have to go in front of a judge and Im not one for getting out of the house much less to go to court. The good thing is even though I haven't followed WW strictly I haven't gained just maintaining. I hope everyone elses holidays weren't too bad.

Gina, I'm so sorry you have to go through all that. That stinks. I guess DD will think twice about who she goes shopping with. Unfortunately, that's one of those rites of passage during your younger years.
I remember a friend of mine wearing a sweater under her sweatshirt out of a store in Philly and being scared but at the same time thinking it was cool, but later in life a friend of mine had a daughter that got into alot of trouble with shoplifting and she had to go away to a kind of halfway house for a month and at that time thinking how sad that was. She couldn't stop, it's a shame.
I'm sure this will be a good life lesson for your DD and hopefully her friend.
As for the weight loss, maintaining is great through the holidays, especially keeping off almost 30 lbs. great job. Sometimes we use depression as an excuse to eat, are you finding other ways to cope? exercise maybe?
Good luck with everything!

Good idea Keli! Thanks for reminding me to come back.
I haven't weighed in for a couple weeks with the holidays and all. I weighed myself last night and I was up about 3-4 pounds from the last time I weighed in. :( But actually, I think my actual gain is less than that (water weight etc.). Overall, considering the weight loss I had before the holidays and the extra stress we had this holiday season, I'm okay with this gain. It's like I just got a head start on my weight loss for this year, which starts today!
Yep, I am recommitting as of this morning. Last night I had my last piece of non-tracked cake. :)
I just want to share this news: I'm moving soon! We put in an offer on a house on Monday and they accepted! It is a block away from a major park, so I'll have no excuse not to go out for walks. And the kitchen is bigger than the one we have, AND we'll have a dishwasher, which we don't now. I absolutely hate cooking when I know I'll be stuck at the sink for the rest of the night. So all in all, I think this move will be wonderful for my fitness goals. More cooking at home instead of eating out, more reasons to get moving.
And as for goals for the year, just see my tickers!

Amy, Congrats on the move, that's exciting (esp. the dishwasher, they're great)
I've tracked every day this week so far, I usually quit after 2 days, so that's an accomplishment. I'm excited for weigh-in but don't want to wish my life away, especially since the weekend's just starting! :D
see ya!
Gina, hope things are going ok with you.

Hey Guys I'm back on plan starting today, the kids are back in school and its a new year. I got some new jeans at christmas (smaller size) and they are all ready a little lose can't wait for the next smaller size.
Keli thanks for your words of encougement, I do tend to turn to food under extreme stress and over the month of not being OP just eating what I wanted I luckily am only up 1 pound, I guess my nerves increased my metabolism cause I really didn't exercise over the holidays. That and maybe the weight I have loss was true weightloss and not just water weight.
Anyway heres to a New Year and New You!!!

Welcome back, Gina and congrats on only being up one pound. DH and I started last week and had a good weigh-in this week. It actually feels great to be back OP. I tracked every day, even though I used about 50 flex pts. instead of 35, it worked out. I know every week won't be like this, but it's a good restart! It sounds like you're being successful at changing your lifestyle, when you can let yourself eat whatever you want and only gain a pound that's wonderful.

Wow Keli,
Awsome weightloss for the week , I think your idea of 50 fles points is a great idea, I mean who can argue with a 5 pd loss. Way to go!! Haven't made it to the gym yet ,but I have been deep cleaning most of the carpet upstairs a down andhave been sweating so I know I'm burning some calories.
Congrats again on a amazing feat..............Gina

Thanks, Gina! It feels good to be back on track. I need to get tracking this week :( I'm weighing and measuring and all, but I forgot to put one in my purse and blah blah blah, now it's too late, but I am definitely getting it done tomorrow at work (don't tell my boss :D).
I bet you feel better after doing that kind of work now after losing that 26 lbs. Isn't it great!!
Gotta get to bed, goodnite!

Hey there. I'm going to start attending meetings on Wednesdays instead of Mondays, but I'd still like to be a part of the Tuesday weigh-in group because you are all so awesome!
I haven't been to a meeting since Dec. 17th. It's been such a crazy month between all the holidays, looking for a house and finally getting an offer accepted, then I had to travel last week. My boss told me on Monday at 5:15 that I needed to go out of town Tuesday-Saturday. I was literally on my way to my meeting when she told me, so I decided to just go home because I had to pack and get ready! Then I started thinking about how Mondays don't really work for me because I'm always so groggy and just want to be home. Plus, that group just isn't working for me.
So I should be reporting in soon on the damage I've done over the holidays...Wish me luck on my return to meetings tomorrow night!

Great job, Gina! It does feel good to be back on track. Good luck with your mini goal!
Best of luck, Amy, going back to meetings is great for you and courageous. It's so easy to stay away, but that only makes going back harder.
Had a decent week, but not a great weigh-in. I was up .6, I'm going to say was because I am OP today and planning on having a good week. Last week we went to MIL's for supper one night and to the PA Farm Show (like an indoor fair, with animals and all) one night. I wrote down everything, but didn't figure out my points after I got to 49, so only .6 up is a great thing! :D
Well, gotta go hit the treadmill. Glad to have you guys back and to be back!!!

Great job Shelby'sMom! I like your quote in your siggy, that's why I have the snail on my tracker!! Last year it took me 12 months to lose 25 lbs. Some months I only lost 1 lb. over the whole month! It's staying off tho!
I had a great OP week. Used all my flex plus a couple (well, I think 5 over) but it all worked out. Lost what I gained last week and then some!
Thanks to ev1 for the support and encouragement that helped me get back on track. I really made a concious effort to weigh and measure whenever I could and it worked out!

Well hope all Tuesday weigh ins are well and losing weight. Not easy with all the viruses goin around. Just down 2pds this week but I made it under 200(YEAH!!!) just by a half a pound but that counts. Going to try and to do better this week been slipping on my water consumption last 2 days because haven't been home much and I don't like having to find a toilet on the go. No plans the rest of the week so I will do better.
Later Guys , can't wait to see how you've done this week
Congrats to Shelbysmom on your 2 pds down :)
