Carb Counters - June's Exercise is NOT Optional Challenge
06-01-2006, 07:22 PM
The goal is to exercise a minimum of 30 minutes a day at a minimum of 3 days per week.
You get 1 point for each 30 minutes of exercise you do.
You get 1 point for each day of exercise you do.
You get 1 point for posting your minutes and what you did in this thread each day.
Exercise burns calories, tones muscles, tightens up loose skin, and makes you feel better. So find something fun to do and let's all get moving!
I don't know how to make this a sticky, so maybe our person who does can move it up.
Are you ready for the challenge???
06-01-2006, 07:24 PM
65 minutes on the treadmill - 4 points!
(I will track everyone's points that posts and give you a weekly update).
06-01-2006, 10:23 PM
Got 1pt for today
06-01-2006, 10:25 PM
Went to Curves--30 minutes. (3 pts)
Um, does makin' whoopy with your hubby count? LOL
06-01-2006, 10:53 PM
Lol, JudyChat then I should have lots of points.
06-01-2006, 11:35 PM
Oooo, you lucky girl! *wink*
06-02-2006, 01:28 AM
30 Minutes WATP-esque for June 1st.
06-02-2006, 02:06 PM
day one - 30 minutes treadmill, 15 minutes exercise ball, no whoopie!
06-02-2006, 04:52 PM
If you are going to count making whoopee - it has to be for 30 minutes and you have to be doing all the work!
30 minutes elliptical
30 minutes treadmill
4 points for me!
06-02-2006, 05:36 PM
35 minutes treadmill with arm exercises. Just too hot today!
06-02-2006, 07:19 PM
I usually do all the work.LOL
06-02-2006, 07:44 PM
That's too funny!
06-02-2006, 09:52 PM
I'm going to join in here. Well. Try. This week won't be a good one--but I'll give it a shot. I'll be shoveling dirt this weekend so THAT'LL be exercise!
06-03-2006, 12:06 AM
I did my 30 min's on treadmill. Yippee. 3 points today. I really needed this challenge, I was getting lazy on my exercise routine. Will still do the whoopy tonight too, but 2-3 min's don't really add any points. LOL
This sounds fun...can I join in ? :)
30 minutes at curves today....3 points?
06-03-2006, 02:06 AM
I did 30 minutes of Weight Watchers Get Started Video (Circuit Training) just before midnight yesterday. I also did a full house cleaning all day today from top to bottom since we are giving my hub's ex-wife a 40th B'day party at our home. I did so much work - I wish I could count it, but I am sure it will show eventually via my weight.
11:27 AM - I am off to an early start today - I have done 45 minutes of WATP!!! :carrot: I am going to do 15 minutes of Elliptical later today. I have got to get started preparing tables and setting up chairs. I just edited my previous post since I was the last poster from last night.
06-03-2006, 01:12 PM
That is so nice of you to give your hub's ex-wife a B-Day party. I'd like to give mine's a party too. At the river with some large cinder blocks. LOL
06-03-2006, 08:10 PM
And lilybelle, I'd like to do that with my ex-husband! Actually, Falon and I are going to chase him through a cornfield and run him over. :D
My exercise for today is cleaning the house -- up and down the stairs with the laundry, running the sweeper, dusting, lots of bending over picking up junk off the floor -- John can make the biggest mess!
I'll give myself 3 points today.
Ladies, you are all doing a wonderful job so far! Doesn't it make you feel better?
06-03-2006, 09:47 PM
I know it was more than an hour...but I'm only counting 1 hour....I played volleyball at a graduation party. It was a blast!
So that makes 3 pts??? Not sure how the point system works.
06-03-2006, 11:51 PM
Susan, Im not straight on the point system.....but here is what I did since the 1st
(1st) 2hrs walking around tradeshow floor
1.5 hrs walking around downtown idianapolis
(2nd) 7 hrs walking/standing around the tradeshow
3 hrs walking/exploring more of downtown indy
(3rd) .5 hr walking to starbucks(and back)
3 hrs walking/standing
8 hrs driving in a car :(
Im sooooooo stiff
I don't know how many points I get for this...Yardwork 8.5 hours - I am so stiff and sore!
06-04-2006, 01:54 PM
WATP WALK & KICK today - 30 Minutes.
I did 15 minutes of trampoline jumping with my neice last night as well as an hour of basketball, both shooting, shooting, running, jumping, blocking - it was so fun. I am not counting the hour in my 500 minutes - because it was unplanned play and I pledged to make sure it was exercise dedicated to weightloss.
06-04-2006, 03:47 PM
I am counting 30 min's of walking outdoors at a park last night. So, 3 pts. for me.
06-05-2006, 12:00 AM

06-05-2006, 02:55 PM
Monday - 4 points
30 minutes treadmill
30 minutes yardwork
(not liking this much!) It's such an effort for me to do this! I'm glad we have this challenge because I think without it I would have blown it off today!
Of course some of it has to do with my scale not moving yet really. (3lbs in 4 weeks!) Not a happy camper.
06-05-2006, 04:09 PM
30 min treadmill....3pts right?
06-05-2006, 05:50 PM

06-07-2006, 12:38 AM
Sorry Guys, I missed posting yesterday. I spent the day in the yard and chasing children. I dug up the second raised bed, made the frame, and shoveled in the ingredients for the soiless mix over 4 hours and I did Walk & Kick WATP yesterday which was an additional 30 minutes. Today I did 1 mile WATP (20 Minutes), added fertilizer to my beds by using a hand cultivater (30 minutes) and 10 minutes on the elliptical. I am counting the 30 from yesterday and the 1 hour for today.
And - Hey I just noticed this is a sticky now.
30 minutes at Curves today and 2 hours in the yard hauling river rock to my flower beds.
Have a good today tomorrow everyone! :)
06-07-2006, 05:13 PM

Lillybelle - I have started to do the treadmill in the morning to and love it! Never thought I would. It sets me for the whole day and I feel great knowing it's done. When I used to do it at night it would hang over my head like a dark cloud all day knowing that i STILL had to do it.
06-13-2006, 11:55 PM

06-15-2006, 08:55 PM
thurs. 30 minute treadmill
30 minutes heavy bedroom and closet cleaning with moving furniture around in circles!!
Good going Lillybelle. I think I'm taking tomorrow off though. I am so stiff my back arms and thighs are killing me today. I added 2 lb arm weights on the treadmill and do arm exercises when I take a break from jogging. ( i usually do 1/2 mile jog then 1/4 fast walk with the arm exercises and try to get 2 miles in 30 minutes. May not seem like much to some but my heart rate still goes up pretty quick so I am slowing increasing the jog and decreasing the walk. Not doing to bad . It was opposite when I started! I would run 1/4 mile then walk a 1/2. so I'm getting there.
06-15-2006, 11:50 PM
1 solid hr. of swimming. My arms are already getting sore, but I sure did enjoy. I'll be back on treadmill tomorrow.
