Hello Everybody! It's early and I wanted to get a quick greeting in before getting ready for work. It's the start of another week. Let's make it a great one. Must confess that at times this weekend I "caved" and followed what my "evil self" wanted to do. However this morning as everyday I recommit and promise to do the best I can do. We are low on groceries which makes it harder to eat the way I want to. MUST get to the store SOON!
I had planned to read all posts yesterday and then respond, but yardwork called my name. Felt obligated to go ou and help Paul with that before we went to some friends' for dinner. So I'm still behind. But plan to catch up tonight. I am determined to have a slower paced week this week and get in my "kimmy time". Let's all be sure and give ourselves time to stop and smell the roses. Okay?
Have a great day!
Take care!

Good Monday morning:)
This is just a quickie as I am heading out to babysit for my daughter to-day. Hope everyone had a good weekend.
I managed to stay op on the weekend. Was down a bit on the scale yesterday but will wait and see what Wednesday brings before posting.
I found this neat website for finding the gi of foods while surfing. This is at the Aussie GI Database. You just type in the name of the food and you will get the gi of that food OR type in a GI value and they will show the foods with that gi.
Morning all. Sorry Ive been awol. I had my 4 year old niece for a week and she kept me pretty busy. I did manage to get in 2 games of golf on Wed. and Fri. I ordered a Yoga for Golf video this weekend, hoping it will help me with my game.
I was not 100% OP last week and like Quilter will begin anew today. I am having the hardest time staying away from sweets.
Sure gonna miss Deb's posts. She is always so cheerful. Anway have a happy day and I will try and check in later.
Welcome to all the newbies.

GOOD MONDAY MORNING EVERYONE!:)
It's MOTIVATIONAL MONDAYand here's my contribution for MM, to get you through the week without me;) I couldn't pick between 2 of them, so you're getting a double dose of MM while I'm gone!!!
The future belongs to those who are willing to build it. But you can't build your future in the future. You have to build it now.
When your efforts are directed solely toward things that provide instant gratification, that will leave your future very empty. The things that will bring true value and fulfillment to your life take time and effort. And it is never, ever, too late to start building the richness of your future.
The farther ahead you're able to project your efforts, the more impact those efforts will have. The more ambitious your dreams, the sooner you must start working on making them real.
Success requires both urgency and patience. Be urgent about making the effort, and patient about seeing the results. Learn to do that, persist with your efforts, and the results will be spectacular indeed. The future is yours. Start today to make it exactly how you want it to be.
-- Ralph Marston
***************
MAKE A BREAKTHROUGH
Sometimes it seems that whatever you do, you simply cannot seem to get ahead. Time after time you make the effort, and the results just do not come. What you need is a breakthrough.
A breakthrough will come when you've truly convinced yourself that you're ready for it. Take a piece of paper and write down, clearly and in detail, the following things - what you're attempting to accomplish, what you've done so far, why it hasn't produced the results you're after, and what obstacles still stand in your way.
When you're finished, carefully read through everything. At the bottom of the page, write a deadline such as "I need a breakthrough by Wednesday afternoon." Then fold the paper in two and put it away. Put the whole matter completely out of your mind. Don't worry about it. Don't go over it again in your mind. Relax with the confident knowledge that by the time your deadline arrives, you'll have your breakthrough.
And you will. When it comes, accept it and get to work on putting it into action. When you've truly made a commitment, and when you've backed up that commitment with action and persistence, you'll find a way to make it work. Your mind is easily capable of breakthrough thinking. All you have to do is ask.

My Goodness...the board is deserted!!!!
I almost failed you all getting the Motivational Monday Post up!!!
Yesterday was complete chaos for me. Dan the Man was away on ANOTHER military assignment and they muddled up things with throwing in a meeting for the officers at the last minute.....so instead of being able to fly home at noon like he was supposed to, he ended up having to fly back at 7:00pm and into LAX!!! UGH
I had to go pick him up, so first I drove down to the beach and hung out with my sister before tackling the 405 fwy.! Needless to say after stopping for gas, food, etc. we didn't get back until 10:00pm at night!
My sister and I did a little scrapbooking while she was here, and just had a nice relaxing visit. Went out to dinner at Kobe Japenese steak house which was a real treat with one of our good friends.
Well, as you can all imagine, I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Dungeon Master and need to clean the cupboards of all evidence! I'll be back to check on you all later!

Good morning everyone!
I am thinking about Nancemiester this morning--and her visit from the Dungeon Mistress. Our prayers are with you!:s:
I had a busy weekend. It was Rally Day (the first day of the new Sunday School year) and I was in charge of all the festivities. it was fun, but it went on all day long. I was exhausted when I got home last night! We had a covered dish supper and I was able to stay OP. I even talked to a friend about SB who is going out to get the book today! I'm inching down to my mow--238.5 today! I'm going to work out in a few minutes.
Hope everyone has a good day!

It's Monday!!! Hi everyone. Don't feel very motivated yet. Tore my kitchen apart this a.m. trying to find where the ants got in with no luck. Their trail ended dead and I can't find anywhere else. That really irritates me. Now I have to put all this stuff back. Ugh. Going to go get my bus and then go crabbing with my friend. Better eat or don't know what she'll try to put down me. Felt like I ate all weekend long. Up to 168 again but not worried. I haven't been drinking my water either. It's my own fault. Guess I'd better get to it.
Nancy-your cleaning out your cupboards was so funny! Kobe steak. I'd love to have some of that.
Fillese-congrats on your loss!!!! Sounds like the Rally was fun. Is it your dad who's having surgery? I hope it goes alright.
Rosalie-What are falafels? I should not buy Triscuits ate way too many yesterday. Will try Finn Crisp or Ryvita. OH, I forgot about cream cheese and fruit spread. You're a genius. Thanks too for the brown rice crust tip. I will try it. And also for the Aussie website. It is now in my favorites.
Bob-I try to make that quiche this week. I love Spinach. The greener the leaf the better. Why don't I like collards???
Melf-I am so grateful to have normal bs levels after what you told me. Hope work is steady but not too fast.
Karen-have fun at camp. I love waking up early in the morning and smelling the clean air. One of my favorite things about camp.
Quilter-what a good wife you were to help dh. Hope you have some fun "kimmy time" this week.
catlover-How was the week with a 4 year old? What did you do? I bet the yoga will help your golf.
Gotta 'fly
sb since 6/29/01

Nice to be able to check in with all of you first thing on Monday morning. I did sleep in this am as I have to work 3-11 today. Tomorrow am I'll need to be up & out of here by 7:30am for the monthly food pantry ministry that I'm involved in.
Kim Our best is the most that any of us is capable of or that is even expected of us. If you do your best, then it's good enough. You will see results, just continue doing your best ;)
Marie Hope you have a nice day baby sitting with gc. Thanks for the GI site. Have already checked it pout & saved in my favorites. I was hoping to find GI for butternut & acorn squash, but didn't find those. Will play around with it more later.
Catlover Sometimes I crave sweets also, but when I do, I hit the ice cream & it seems to do the trick for me. Some days or harder than others, but like I told Kim, if we do our best, that's all that can be expected of us, so hang in there. Today is a new day for us all.
Nancy, We're here & appreciate you for being Debbie's helper in posting that great motivational thought. You sound so busy with your cleaning! Guess I would feel the same way if the Dungeon Mistress were visiting my humble abode :). You talked about scrapebooking...I did go back & checked out that shope I had mentioned a while back where I thought they were offering lessons, only to find that they were having a close out sale. I did buy a few more items that I needed to get started, but was very disappointed that they are now closed. I was looking at the extension courses offered in the area college, but nothing there either. Oh well, one day I'll sit & tackle this on my own.
Susan You are doing so well with your weight loss! Keep up the good work girl. Sounds like you had a great day yesterday. I was suppose to work a 12 hr shift yesterday, but because of a low cenus & being over staffed, I was able to leave work at noon & spend the afternoon with dh & was able to make it to church last night. That was a blessing for me.
Well ladies, before I go, here is a Motivational thought I'd like to share with you all. Got this in a email last week.
The Road to Success is not straight. There is a curve called failure, a loop called confusion, speed bumps called friends, caution lights called family, and you will have flats called jobs. But...if you have a spare called determination, an engine called perseverance, insurance called faith, you will make it to a place called success!

Good Monday everyone!
Can you tell that I don't have time to check in on weekends very much?!? My boys keep me busy and I try to use that time for "just family". We have had a difficult summer, my Dad died on May 19th and we have all been struggling to cope. I feel like I am waiting on the next tragedy and have been trying to spend every moment I can with my dh, kids and mother. I guess that is pretty normal.
Anyway - on a more cheerful note - I bought an AB Doer II yesterday. I even assembled it all by myself!! I got on it and went right to it and I broke a sweat pretty fast. I can tell that my side muscles (can remember the name for those love handles) got some work cause they are a little sore this morning. Anyone else have one of these contraptions??
Fillise - wow, its a small world. I like Huntsville, but would never stray to move here from Athens. My little town is just right for me and its only a 30 minute commute to work.
Everyone - thanks for the welcome. I feel at home already!
I'll check in later!

Good Monday to all you SBers. And welcome back to you, Quilter. I definitely "hear you", and you also, Catlover. Sometimes I can really fail to stay OP, and then kick myself around for a few days. I heard something really encouraging from my doctor this am. (Had to go for my yearly checkup.) He told me that even he was trying to lose some pounds and that HIS doctor recommended Sugar Busters. He said to just commit to ONE MONTH, and see how it went. He said to be totally fiathful for that one month, and that at the end of that time, to evaluate the progress and proceed from there. For all us humans that are not totally perfect, one month seems like a manageable period of time. So I thought I share this to give everyone some encouragement. He also said that to get good exercise for the heart, you should walk at least 2 hours every week. and more is better.
I will be going up to Wisc. this week. will miss Karen 2000 by just 2 days:( I arrive Sunday in Kohler and she leaves Friday. I'll be back here for 2 days and then off again for 2 weeks in PA. Of course, will stop in Gainesville on the way up to see the Gators play. Only 12 more days, all you SEC gals. Hope all your teams win!!!
Have a great time with Debbie, Nance. She is a bundle of energy and will be an inspiration in person, even more!! Thanks for starting the board for us today.
Take care, all.

Well, Helloooooooo everyone! I feel I have been away forever! I am so glad to be home and back to the Board! First our computer went down and before it could be fixed I left for Houston, so I have been deprived for a long time!
I want you all to be the third to know (Melf and Quilter got in first) that I lost 6# while I was away. I want a standing ovation with a drum roll please!!!!!
How did I do it? Easy, have a friend who is determined to undermine you! She is heavier than me and says she doesn't care how big she is as long as she is healthy. Excuse me!!
I've been there, still am. Her legs hurt, she's SOB, tires easily.........hey don't we all realize this ain't healthy? When she brought up that subject that was the only time I reminded her that she could lose a couple of pounds too.
So she would offer me lemon meringue pie. "Sorry, I can't have that."......"Shirley, it's not a matter of can't or need, it's WANT! At our age we shouldn't worry about things like that. If we want it then you should have it."......."OK, I don't WANT any!" This went
on for two weeks if you can imagine that! Through the danish, pie, cookies, crackers, ad infinitem. Although she tried ONE pita chip and said they were good, she would not eat them as they were diet food and she wasn't dieting. She did like the SB Buttered Pecan ice cream and ate it along with her other sweets. Pie followed by ice cream etc.
So I lost 6 and she probably gained 6!!! I just did my thing without fanfare. The more I stuck to things, the more she seemed to want to show me she could eat anything.........and did!
She didn't get the concept at all. We went out to eat several times, three times with other people. Once someone said what are you having Shirley? I said steak (we were at a Steak and Ale), salad and sweet potato. And she said "Shirley thinks she's on some kind of diet!"
The only place that did not seem to have anything I could have other than House Salad, was the Olive Garden. I probably cheated there because of the dressing. Everything seemed to be sauced, breaded or would have sugar. We also went to IHOP, Perry's (menu said baked sweet potato, but it was mashed and sugared when I got it), and some other restaurant I can't think of. At home we made a meatloaf, hamburgers and onions, omelets; she made turkey salad but it had mayo on it, and I bought veggies for salads, which she couldn't eat because they were too big! So she would eat a little sauce size dish. To me with real bacon bits, cheese, greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, green peppers, they are a meal. Of course, you don't have room for potato chips etc.
So, so much for my food adventures! We went to Galveston and Kemah, a boardwalk area. We saw "Legally Blond" which was good. In fact, one lady with us was going a second time she thought it was so good! The rest of the time was malls and stay at home.
I had one day with "Barry" where I couldn't move much and refused to go out. The next day I was some better and we did galavant. If I was home, I probably would have taken it easy
but when you are visiting you don't want to be a wet blanket and I had already spoiled one day!
I want to thank those of you that sent I miss yous! Melf and I had a long talk via IM the other day. I enjoyed it so much!
Quilter - I got your note and will answer.
Fillis - I just realsized our intials stand for Sugar Free. Whenever we want to stray, we can remind ourselves by thinking of us! Also I noticed my license plate has GWP. As I was leaving nursing home today, I thought "Hmmmm, GROSS WEIGHT PROBLEM"!! another reminder!
Rosalie - Yes, what are falafels? And since I haven't read the entire Board what is your Brown Rice Crust tip? Or where can I find the tip if it's too long to repeat.
Since I haven't had time to read the whole board, I congratulate the losers, commiserate with the non-losers, hope the ill are better and the healthy stay that way!
My MM?
Find a friend who wants to sabotage you, and show them they can't!!!!!!!
I am grateful to her!

Kim, The last sentence in your post hits my feelings dead on "Let's all be sure and give ourselves time to stop and smell the roses." I certainly have a better outlook on life and more appreciation of it when I slow down and can spend some time with all of you. Welcome back, I missed you.
Mary, I absolutley loved your Monday Motivation!
Nance, I hope you are truly having a relaxing time on vacation. You deserve it! (as for the cupboards, remember that's the kids food, not yours :) )
My dental implant seems to have been succesful and now I'm back in healing mode. I ate poorly and really didn't care some of the time, other times I found myself eating on plan and not really thinking about it. I'm really looking forward to Deb's visit. I now am back to 159 as of this morning and have until Nov. 10th to get back down and constant at 155, although I really would like to see 150. We will see what happens. Tonight I am determined to take a walk, please understand this is something that I have NEVER done, but maybe getting out of the house will inspire me to exercise more.

I'm not caught up!! These comments are from posts through Sunday -- If something doesn't make sense or is already outdated, please just ignore me!!
TVthatsME - WELCOME!! Glad to have you “on board” Our Apopka, FL Allstars are in a major little league championship tournament right now. They could make it to the World Series if they keep playing as well as they have been. It reminds me of watching my little brother’s team when they made it to the finals eons ago. Sooo much fun!!
FILLISE – Glad to hear things are going well with your father. I’m hoping that he continues to get better and better – sounds like he will as he is already pretty healty. Congrats on the consistent work-outs! We’ll be fabulous babes before too long! Gonna have to get me a hummer feeder. :)
QUILTER – Sending lots of prayers Jackie’s way – she sure is blessed to have a great caring friend like you.
BOB – Didnja just LOVE Enemy at the Gates???? (Vince being the sniper that he is we HAD to rent that one!) It was really good, I thought. Can’t believe they did all that intimate stuff as dirty as they were – Vince was making comments about how “fresh” their breath musta been. Okay, I just read you didn’t really like it all that much….. I guess Vince’s combat, action movie fondness has rubbed off on me from having to watch so many of them. Because of his sniper interest I guess… I went to JC Penny – Girlfriend, that place was a MADHOUSE I was just glad to get out with my life!!! There were people 15 deep with ARMLOADS of stuff at the registers. I couldn’t hack it – had to leave. Y’all have my respect – or you have much better organized JCPs. I got that little food processor – see Deb’s post below.
FLY – I go through withdrawals too. How was the week-end trip away? Did they love the concert? I thought about posting in yellow, too, but didn’t want everyone to skip my posts because they were too hard on the eyes.
DEBBIE – Okay – is the recipe for Falafels and TARATOUR on the board somewhere? I will do a search, but if it’s not there – when you get back can you post it? We love the hummus! I bought a little 2 cup food processor at Target – MagicChef I think is the brand. Works pretty good, but I couldn’t get all the beans totally mashed – there were some chunks of them, but it was still good.
MARIE – Vince and I have thought about writing a book called “Oh Yeah………” One of those little bathroom readers with things people never think to tell you about until you’ve already discovered it….Like “NEVER use dishwashing soap (Dawn, Joy, etc.) in place of dishwashing DETERGENT (Cascade, etc.)” “When assembling a baby crib make sure you are in the room you want the crib to be in. (They do not fit through standard doorways.)” Vince has a ton from working on cars. Just this month we discovered that Chevy Monte Carlos use BOTH metric AND American (?) measurements – you have to have both sets of tools. The movie Steel Magnolias is AWESOME!! Bring lots of tissue – especially if you cry when you laugh real hard like I do!
NANCEMEISTER – When do you start the new job?? :D Use your Control button and the letter C to copy – (press both at the same time) – Use your CONTROL button and the letter V to paste. Control + C = COPY – Control + V = Paste – Hopefully that will help. I use the keyboard whenever possible. Saves time, energy and wrist motions, although my little pinky on my left hand is sore by the end of the day from so much copying and pasting. Let us know how it goes in the DUNGEON!! I want lessons! Details!! Take good notes!!!
LAMAP – Had to laugh about taking your son to the dentist. I think I rely on my parents more now than I ever did. Of course, now I appreciate it! We have a family owned HFS here in Vince’s zone and he asked them about the cake mixes. They said they don’t have it but will be glad to order, which kind did we want….I told him spice. I can’t remember the flavor you were getting. Please, let me know if it’s better.
MELF – Thanks for checking in! Glad to hear you’re doing well.
We listen to books on tape for the rush hour traffic we have to drive in and just discovered Nelson DeMille books – y’all they are really good! I highly recommend them! You readers Catherine Neville’s “The Eight” is awesome!! I’ve read it about 4 times. I just love it!!!
I was out shopping and working my butt off in the yard all week-end. Fighting crowds at JCP, comparing food prcessors at Target, Wal-Mart and Bed Bath and Beyond. Found some great valances for the guest bedroom at BB&B and couldn’t wait to hang them up when I got home, but couldn’t get the darn screws in the wall. Vince was glad. He wants to patch things up and paint before we hang them. Other mundane errand-running, but took my whole day on Saturday. Then Sunday I mowed the yard and cleaned the house – deep clean – needed it and smelled so good when I got back from church. I thought about getting on several times, but never made it in the office.

It's Monday evening and I'm just checking in!
Wow...has this day just flown by!!! It's been quite an active day for me. A distant aquaintance (a friend of my sister's) was featured on the 3rd hour of the Today Show. Her name is Ann
Marie Crowell. It will be 4 yrs. this coming Christmas Eve that her
son of 12 yrs. died in an accidental shooting. She's also featured
in an article in this month's Good Housekeeping Magazine. Today
was the 1st National ASK Day. (Asking Saves Kids). It encourages people before you send your child to someone's house (a playmate, relative, or neighbor, to ASK if they have a gun in the home. If there is a gun, to make sure that the gun is stored unloaded and locked, ideally in a gun safe, with ammunition locked separately. Hiding guns is not enough. There
are countless tragic stories of kids finding guns that parents thought were well hidden. There is a web site if you should like
additional info: www.AskingSavesKids.com
This afternoon I visited a nearby daycare to distribute some of the
pamphlets to parents. I do not have children myself...but know how precious and dear they are. This is not about being pro or against the gun law....just something to keep kids safe from harm!
I've been a little off kilter OP myself. You are not alone Catlover and Quilter...BUT we will carry on the very best we can! I will not
be a quitter!!!! Maybe other adjectives would apply, but not that one!!! We're in this together ladies!!
Great motivational tip Deb had to share! Boy...they sure hit me between the eyes sometimes! I'll take all the inspirational tips I can get!!!
:) Well, Ive got to run...hubby will be home for dinner any minute.
Take care! Hope to get back on the boards later this evening!

Hello everyone! Would you believe I have to go BACK TO WEDNESDAY to catch up and send posts to everyone! EEEEEK, I certainly have my work cut out for me. That’s what I get for being too busy to post last week.
For those of you who’ve said prayers for Jackie . . . THANK YOU SO MUCH. I’ve got her on the phone right now. She had the surgery today , and the surgeon is almost positive that it’s just a cyst!!!! But they are sending it out to have it checked. But it sounds good!!! She sounds GREAT!!! And says thanks to all of you for your good thoughts and prayers. Let’s hope this is the last scare she has with this!
I must apologize. I did promise on Saturday night that I would read and catch up and post on Sunday. But here’s the thing . . . yardwork just called out time and time again. Paul was out there working his brains out and I just felt too guilty to sit in here and do something fun while he was working. So I’m a day late with this. But I’m hoping you all will understand. Thanks, girls!
RHROO---Hey, Girl! Hope your have a great week this week. Listen, I hate to sound like a total no-brained person, but I don’t know what you mean by an ICQ number. On the AOL Instant Messenger, people use names or nicknames. I’ve never had to key in any kind of number. Do you think you’d be up to download the AOL version on instant messenger? It’s a totally FREE program and you don’t have to be an AOL person to use it. Let me know what you think about that. If you were able to do that, a whole bunch of us would be able to chat with you. Now you gotta admit that sounds pretty good, right?
NANCE---What kind of business ethics are those “powers that be” at your office trying to use????? Sounds like a bunch of bad decisions on their part. They must have read a book on how to alienate your employees while shooting yourself in the foot. Hmmmmmm. It would be nice to say adios to them and start over. And since you said you want to do more nursing, maybe everything is happeening for a reason. From personal experience, I can tell you that moving to management was a terrible decision for me. I mean the money was great, but I couldn’t really enjoy it because I was stressed all the time. Many were the days when I wished I’d remained a lowly designer instead of the boss.
SuperFLY---So, what do you think of HP? Are you still on book 1 or have you moevd on to another one? I’m on book three haven’t had much time to read. When I read about one of your babies going away for the weekend I cringed for you. Hopefully everybody had a great time. What band were they going to see? BTW, can you give a quick lesson on altering text? I just can’t seem to get it right. Especially because I type my whole post in a program called WriteNow and then past. Does this mean I won’t be able to do the bolds and beautiful colors???? I feel so dull about my posts. And I love the story of you trying to catch Mitzi. Too funny. The fact that you scared yourself was really funny. I hope she’s better soon and appreciating the new potty. LOL you made me!!! yes, you could have heard a pin drop, but unfortunately no body was bowling!!! It was really quiet in there and the worst part was the fans that filter out all the gaggy cigarette smoke were also off so we were getting fumigated!!! Speaking of ants . . . my neighbor just told me tonight that she heard on The View today that ants do not like chalk dust. They won’t walk over it. So we’re both going to try it outside our back doors. We have those big black ants that act like they make the mortgage payments here. I HATE THEM!!!!
FILLISE---Thanks for setting me straight on the butter beans. I will definitely have to look for them. I love beans (all kinds) and enjoy putting them into our diets as much as possible. You are too good for going to all that detail. Thanks a bunch! Hey, here’s hoping that you dad is okay and that everything goes well. I’ll send up prayers and good thoughts for him. Please let us know as soon as he’s had the angioplasti. {{{{{HUGS}}}}}} to you too. Hang in there. Hey, and thanks for relaying the story about your friend who’s next scare with BC turned out to be a scar tissue. I needed to hear that.
PURPLE DELIGHT---That’s a great name!!! Hey, welcome to the board. I gues you came on while I was in my brooding, lonely funk. So I hope you are settle in and have given yourself a good talking to about that splurge weekend. Take it from one who has done it too many times, STOP!!! Seriously, I do hope you can get your eating schedule worked out. For lunch I go through phases. Some times it’s cottage cheese and triscuits for days upon days. Then I get tired of that and I’ll fix a sandwich. Lately I’ve been making a salad out of just cucumbers and cherry tomatoes with watered down ranch dressing. I love that! But you have to be a veggie freak to eat it every day. Hey, listen, girl, you weigh yourself whenever it works for you. I think every two weeks sounds like a great idea. Some people need it more often and some don’t. We had one person (whatever happened to STARCHASER) who would weigh in once a month. And that’s what worked for you. I think you’re right to concentrate on the eating part of this and not the weighing part. Good luck!
BOB---Thanks for the tip on the Butter Beans. I will surely do it that way . . . I like easy in the kitchen! Now about this Louisvlle thing . . . I am having a SENIOR MOMENT. Please forgive. Yes, I get that you are visiting your kinfolk. But PLEASE let me know if you have any FREE time. During the time you will be there, I have Friday Saturday and Sunday and Monday that I don’t have to work. I’m not sure what we have going on, but I WOULD BE MORE THAN WILLING TO DRIVE DOWN TO L’VILLE TO MEET UP!!!!! Heck if you’re coming all the way from the Sunshine state, I can at the VERY LEAST drive the couple of hours to KY. Let me know what you think. Any ideas I am open for!!!!!! This could be so much fun that we could make DEB really jealous. What do you think??????? BTW, I didn’t recognized ANY of those movies you had for your marathon. You are the queen of movie knowledge!!! Hey, I’ll send up some prayers and good thoughts for your niece’s MIL. Must be awful to have seen your mother suffer from something you just found out you had. She’s got a few tough months ahead of her, but hopefully, she has a huge support system that will help her when she’s down and too sick to do anything. Hey, Ann’s birthday is the same as my mom’s!!! Easy for me to remember!!! Hey, tell her “HAPPY, HAPPY” from me and Paul. Tell her she’s never looked younger!!!
DEB---Whenever you see Sharon next, tell her I’m sending good thoughts and hugs her way. I hope all the ICK goes over easily and that it’s all over soon for her.
SOL---You were absolutely KILLING me with the “woes of hummus” report. Too funny for words. I, too was laughing so hard. It’s good to know others have the same afflictions.
ROSALIE---Thanks for posting that article last week. I am passing it along to my MIL who is diabetic and reads everything she can get her hands on about diet and its effect on our health. It’s been much cooler here. Today I had to wear socks because my toes were freezing. It will be GREAT sleeping tonight! Hey, tell me what you think of Durable Goods I can’t wait!!!! The Ann Lamott I listened to was traveling mercies. It was all about her search for her faith. Our library has the Crooked one and it’s on my list next. Today I got a whole bunch of books on tape on Zen Buddhism and Depak Chopra’s called Perfect Weight or something like that. I’ll let you know if I like what he says.
TV---Welcome and WOW!!! You and hubby are doing really well. I started the program in January and haven’t been disciplined at all. You are teaching me that if I could “get with it” I’d be seeing the same results as you. Thanks for joining in. We all love new people and getting to know them. So sorry to hear that you lost your dad this summer. I’m lifting you up and sending good thoughts your way. Hoping that you can keep your chin up and celebrate his life. You know that when you need to vent about anything, this is the place to do it. We are all very good listeners!!! And it makes perfectly good sense to reserve your weekends for those you love the most. What a smart thing to do!!!! My thoughts are with you all as you try to recover from such a devastating loss. Also . . . You GO, GO, GO on those Abs!!! Could you do a few crunches for me. I was just sitting here thinking about how fat my middle felt to me. No kidding . . . right before I read what you wrote. Hmmmmmm, is there a message there for me. I think so!!!
LAMAP---Way to go teaching yourself to cut and paste!!! That’s awesome! You should be proud of yourself. I think computers can be really difficult and when we master something with them, we need to pat ourselves on the back!!!
MELF---Are you working yourself too hard???? Is that why you’re so busy? You’d better be sure and take some time to smell the roses. That’s what life is all about. Hope everything is okay at your end. Maybe this week will be a little easier on you. {{{{{HUGS}}}}}}
KAREN---Thanks for checking on my stinky stone. I’ll try the baking soda. That makes a lot of sense. It works to clean everything else. It might just be “all in my head” too. Sometimes I think this happens for me with odors. Like the milk starts smelling on the date on the carton. Nobody else can smell it but me. Hmmmmm. This is sounding serious! LOL Hope your camping trip is WONDERFUL!
CAT---Welcome back! I know exactly what you are talking about with the sweets!!!!! Oooo, how I love them. I need to get more organized and get some sf pudding made or something like that to take care of my sweet tooth. Good luck, hon! I’m excited to hear about your yoga tape. I’m sure it will help your golf. It can do amazing things!
GATOR---Thanks for the wb (welcome back)!!!! Glad you missed me. LOL! Hey, I loved what you wrote about what your dr said. That’s awesome. That idea of trying one solid month at 100% could be the turning point for many of us who are struggling. Thanks for sharing!!!!! Enjoy your trip up north!
SEF---Shirley, that’s a GREAT story. I’m glad you kept me hanging and told everybody at once about it. WOW!!!! Your friend is so far in denial that we should call her Cleopatra. (Get it, de Nile!!!) I am SO PROUD OF YOU for sticking to your guns. It got to be a matter of principle after a while and there would have been NO WAY you would have even looked twice at those danish and other things. Whew, girl, you have to win this week’s award for “most determined, most 100%, most awesome job at fighting fat!!!” That’s so great.
LDBLOND---Thanks for the kind words. How sweet of you. Yes, I think we all need a reminder to take time out of our busy schedules and do something we like to do. I think so many people on this board spend all their time helping others and leave out the most important person. Glad to hear that your mouth is healing. Must be a hard thing to get used to!!!! But I have heard that the mouth is the fastest part of our body to heal. Have fun with DEB. I’m jealous!!!
DEB---If you are watching, I hope you won a butt-load in LV. Did you see Wayne Newton??? How about Sigfriend and Roy??? Or how about a cheezy Elvis impersonator??? Listen, I hope you and big E are having the times of your life. We miss you. Can’t wait to hear all about the trip!!!!!
HEY . . . WHERE'S VIV?????? I KNOW YOU'RE OUT THERE!!!!!
Man, I’m pooped! This has to be my all-time longest post. Let’s hope it goes through. I will tell you all this . . . we’ve got Reds tickets for tomorrow night. So I will not be on the chat or probably posting all evening. Planning to leave work a little early so will try to get in something quick then. If not, you know I’m here in spirit.
Take care.

Good evening all
Well I had quite a relaxing day to-day. Was at my dd babysitting all day but really didn't have anything to do except make lunch for the four boys. They didn't really need me there the rest of the day as the 14 year old stayed home and the other guys were in and out visiting their friends. It was a good day to get some reading done.
Fly - Falafels are a mixture of minced up chick peas and spices. They are made into patties and either fried or broiled. They are usually served with pita bread but I sometimes have them with just a salad. I tried making my own once and like Solshine with the hummus tried putting them in the blender which was a disaster. I've tried a few mixes which I didn't like but this time I used a mix by FANTASTIC which I got in the regular grocery store and they were good.
Melf - The only place I have seen a gi for squash is in the Montignac book. He lists it with pumpkin at 75 gi with 6grams of carbs in a half cup serving. SB lists it as an acceptable veggie but does not give the gi. The Aussie site lists pumpkin at 75 with no mention of other types of squash. IMHO even though the gi is relatively high the carb content is so low that it shouldn't be a problem to have occasionally.
Sef - Welcome back and congrats on the 6 pound loss. I admire your willpower in standing up to your friend and not giving in. Why are some people so eager to try to sabotage what we are doing. For falafels see note to Fly above. The Brown Rice Crust tip was about a recipe for a quiche I had posted on the November recipe board.
Ldblond - Glad to hear that the surgery went well.
Solshine - Sounds like you had a very busy and productive weekend. The book "The Eight" sounds interesting - I just read a synopsis of it on Amazon. That'll be put on top of my 'must read' list.
Marie.

Hey Ladies - long time no see! There are so many new faces here - but I still see a few people that I know! First let me explain my absence.....my old computer was a total dinosaur and with all of this new fancy stuff on the board, it was taking FOREVER just to get onto this site. So, now I'm sporting a new puter and things are MUCH FASTER! Also........I wasn't "actually" doing the plan over the summer:o I've actually gained back 50 of the 60 pounds that I had lost a year and a half ago - I know - shame, shame, shame! I've been a really bad girl. Actually, as of last week I had gained 56 of the 60 pounds back. I started back on plan last monday and I've already lost 6 pounds. So, hopefully, I can stick to this. I'm glad to be able to get back on the board now that I have a good computer - that way - I can get my daily support that I so desperately need!!:D
BOB: Glad to see you are still around. Are you still taking up the middle of that wagon? You better move over cause I'm gonna need more room now that my butt has gotten even bigger!! HAHA!
Ready for the games or what? Our 1st one is Sept. 1st against Tulane - our old rival! LSU hasn't played them in years!
GATOR: I'm also glad to see you are still here! I was sure hoping that my SEC buds were still on the board. Maybe we can meet this year for the game. I would love that!
SEF & MELF: glad to see some other cajuns on the board. I'm from Thibodaux. Maybe we can meet one weekend!!
I saw that someone posted that they were going to miss Debbie's posts....she hasn't left the board has she? Or - is she just on a vacation?
Well, I'll check back in the am. Ladies, please help me!!! I know that being able to check in daily from home is really going to help. I know that those of you that know me are saying..."yeah, yeah...we've heard those words before - then she drops off the board." Well, that's true, but I'm gonna try really extra hard this time to be faithful! I was successful once before so I know I can be successful again! Thanks again...see you tomorrow.

Hey Fruitloupe!!! It's great to "see" you again. I've thought about you, because, as you may remember, I identify with some of your issues. So, welcome back. Read my post above, and maybe that will give you encouragement. Or even, try just ONE WEEK at a time. If you lose, say, 2 pounds, then make a pact with yourself to go another week at 100% plan. I know you can handle a week.
We'll be at Red Stick for the game there. Hope the Gators win that one, although it will definitely be tough! I was there the year the Gators were #1 and the Tigers beat them. Then got to see the goal posts being torn down. What a sight!
Are you teaching this year?

Hey ladies!
Another successful day. I'm down 2 pounds from yesterday - go figure! See what happens when you eat right?!?!
GATOR: We must meet when you come here for the game. We were also at that game when LSU beat y'all. That was so wild! I just sat in my seat and stared at all of the people going completely wild! We have that game taped and we watch it every now and then. I hear you about taking a week/month at a time. I also need to be able to fall down and then get right back on plan. It seems like whenever I cheat it takes me days to get back on plan. I can't stand that! Thanks for the encouraging words. Yes - I am teaching again this year. We started back last Thursday and I think that this class is really going to test my patience! Hopefully, I can get them into my "groove" soon!
BOB: I just saw on the news that University of Tennessee has just knocked LSU off of the #1 spot of party schools. LSU is now #2 and UT is #1 - can you believe that?!? Oh - well, we'll just have to work harder to earn that title back! HAHA!
Y'all have a great day! I've got to get to school!

AAAARRRGGGHHH!! Agilent is laying off 4000 people this week. They are another one of our clients…..I really hate this slow down in business. We have to keep business where it is to avoid any more layoffs. I would feel much better if we had a full schedule. I feel so sorry for all these people losing their jobs and those of us hoping we don’t lose ours.
QUILTER – Great news about Jackie! Continuing to pray until everything is completely settled. You didn’t ask me, but I’m going to answer anyway….I type my posts into Word and put the codes in for bold and italic as I type. Before the word you want to bold type [ (left open bracket) B (the letter b) and then ] (right close bracket). Italics is [ I ] . After the word or section be sure to type [ / b ] or [ / I ] to end the bold or italics. When you paste it into the thread it will automatically bold, italicize, whatever. I haven’t got the color codes down, but when you put them in you can see what the color code is.
SEF – WELCOME BACK!!!!! I’ve gone through SHIRLEY withdrawals!! I even went and got meeself a cute little cross stitch kit of bluebirds around a birdhouse to work on since I didn’t get to hear about yours. Sounds like you are THERE – YOU HAVE ARRIVED! If you can resist all that sabatoging from your friend you will not be swayed! I want to get there!
MARIE – That’s my kind of babysitting. More like watching the house to make sure it doesn’t burn down. Glad you were able to have a relaxing day. You will LOVE The Eight! She flops back and forth between modern time and the Middle Ages. I couldn’t put it down for fear I would miss something.
FRUITLOUPE – WELCOME BACK! It certainly helps to have the daily motivation and encouragement we get here…..okay…..the accountability does something too. There are some killer recipes on the recipe board if you need some good ideas for meals – just beware of the hummus!! DEBBIE has reached her goal and is working on her “cushion” weight. She’s now the Dungeon Mistress and has taken her travelling dungeon to NANCEMEISTER’S to whip her into shape and show her how it’s done. Be very careful ‘cause she may just come up your way!! BOB spent a week-end in the Dungeon and has lived to tell about it – and you should hear her – she’s almost sounding like DEBBIE! Next thing we know she’ll be posting 4.5 miles on the Exercise Board with DEBBIE.
Well, ladies I must go look busy. Can’t wait to hear how much fun DEBBIE and ELI had in Las Vegas and how many lessons NANCEMEISTER is going to share with us.

Wow - I could really tell a difference in my jeans this morning, even though the scale is still stuck (I've been stalled about 3-4 weeks). I think the crunches and ab doer may make a difference in that belly pooch.
However - it is TOM, whom I refer to as "sally". I hate her guts!! However, I would rather her to stop by as not. I have a Dr. appt for my checkup next month and plan to schedule a date to have a tubal done. I have been on BC pills since I was 15 - of course except when I was pregnant - and am now 32, and I am ready to get off of them for good! I've always wanted a girl, but I guess I'll wait for a granddaughter now. I could never have another child (on purpose) and know that my Dad was not here to see him/her. Just too many things have changed. Not at all that I was considering it anyway - I've been trying to convince my dh to do the male procedure since our second one was born, but I give up!! Unless I want to continue taking pills, worrying about it every time I am taking antibiotics (my first child was the result of a sinus infection and 500 mg Keflex), I'm just gonna have to do it myself!! I think I'll feel better once I get off those things!
Quilter - thanks for the words of encouragement! Every day is a struggle, although some are much worse than others. Other people I've talked to that have lost a parent have said it takes at least a year to start being able to cope any better. They say you have to make it through all of the first times without.... I really dread the holidays.
SolShine - I love to watch those little ones play baseball. Those really good teams, like you have there, are amazing! It seems almost impossible that kids that size are able to do what they do! My husband has always coached for my oldest son and plans to coach 2 teams in the spring. My little one is just LOVING being on a team. I guess it will be different for him than it was for my big guy, after all, we have drug him to the ballfield to watch his brother play since he was just an infant!!
Thanks to all for the warm welcomes!!

Hello everyone--this is likely to be a short post. I am flying to NC tomorrow and have a lot to do before I leave. Priceline.com is an amazing thing! I got a ticket that would have been over $1,000.00 for less than $200.00! I appreciate all of your prayer sand concerns for my father. He will have a stint put in on Friday--which is, I understand, pretty routine now. Still, I don't want to take anything for granted. Some friends of mine lost their daughter to cancer last weekend and it's gotten me thinking that we really don't know how much time any of us has. Don't mean to be morbid--but I'm in a mood where I need to spend some time with my family!
SEF--welcome back--I love the play on our initials! Sugar Free--that's me! I'm doing pretty well too. I'm back down to my low of 238 and the scale seems to be moving steadily now. While I'm in NC, I usually do pretty well because my family is so supportive! I think your vacation weight loss is wonderful! I actually sympathize with your friend, because there was a time when Iwouldhave been the same way--it came from jealousy!
TV--SO sorry to hear about your Dad. I agree about the time with family--it is precious!
Got to go--I'll be back on in a day or two from NC.

Good Morning Ladies!
I'm still scrubbing the floors while waiting for the Dungeon Master. I have about 50 loads of laundry to do, and then everything will be fine. Always good to have company come, cause you end up cleaning things that haven't been tackled in months!
SEF
Welcome Back!!!! We missed you so much! Glad to hear you had a nice vacation and stayed OP! Good for you! Do you have any pictures to share with us???
Sparkle
Thanks for sharing your vacation pics. You look great! Really trimming down! Looks like you had a great time!
BOB
I'm counting the hours.....Now Eli is going to be under pressure to cook when he arrives, because I have to have some of this Hummus and salad of his! SHould I run to TJ's and get the whole wheat pita now to eat the hummus with???? Haven't heard from Debs yet, but I have her cellular! How was Bounce? I haven't rented that yet.
Solshine
I have tons of paper to take notes from the "Master".....I feel like Grasshopper on my way to learn something meaningful! I know one thing...I'll be OP 100% for 3 days :)
Quilter
Glad to hear Jackie is doing well. See, all our prayers worked!
Did I mention how happy I am that you are back on board with us????
Marie
Thanks for the cut and paste info....Deb also sent me cut and paste instructions for idiots....I think I can brave the computer world now!
Well I need to get back to my chores....will post a little bit later.
I know I missed a bunch of you gals, but I'm not taking notes like usual, but I still love ya all!

SOLSHINE---Thanks for the info about getting bolds into my posts! I hope I did it right! Now that I know there are keyboard shortcuts I can play around and see what happens. How smart you are!!!!!
FROGGIE---I wondered where you were. Bummer about your internet situation at home. Hope it gets taken care of really fast. I’d go nuts without it here.
TV---Yes, when you mentioned your dad’s passing, I immediately thought, “She’s going to have a rough winter holiday season.” Maybe you should plan to do something really different or extra special (like skiing or a trip somewhere), NOT to try and forget about your dad but to get away from the traditional happenings where all the memories are. Whatever you do you’ll get through it, but it won’t be easy. Just hang on to each other for support.
FILLISE---So glad to hear that you get to go see your family. Your savings is fantastic. Way to go!!! DEB would be proud of the money you saved. I know exactly what you mean about not knowing what’s in store for us. So I’ve been really thinking about living “right now” and “in this very moment”. Have a great time!
NANCE---You’re scrubbing floors????? Whew!!! Go to it, girl! I know exactly what you mean about cleaning for company. That’s why I hate “drop ins”. Give me at least enough time to run the vacuum and pick up the dog hair. Hey, I hope you have a GREAT time with Deb and Eli. They are wonderful!!! Be sure and tell us all about it. I’d love to be a fly on the wall of TJ’s. Also, thanks for the kinds words. I am happy to be back with you all too.
Well, girls it’s been a pretty good day. Despite some computer problems at work. Geesh!!! Made a deal with dh that I’ll pick him up for lunch tomorrow if he comes over and fixes my messes. I hope that does the trick.
We are off to the ballgame tonight. Meeting Paul’s mom and uncle there. Paul got four free tickets. We like those kind! So I won’t be on the chat. Don’t talk about me while I’m gone! LOL.
See you on the flip side.

Is it my imagination or is the Board slow? Not many posts for the second day!
Thanx for the welcome back. I really missed you all! It was like a big ahhhhhhh when I finally got bak on!
ROSALIE - The Brown Rice Crust Quiche looked good and I am going to try it.
FRUITLOUPE - It would be fun to meet up somehow, somewhere. Although I live in Cajun country, I am not one. I am a transplant from PA. Too bad about your weight gain. We are our own worse enemies. We have something that works and still goof off, then beat ourselves up about it it! I know you can do it again! We are here behind you!
FROG - I hope things will be back to normal and you can be here with all your humor and wisdom!
TV - Hi! Nice to meet you, I guess I'm a newbie to you. Looking forward to getting better acquainted!
FILLISE - I guess jealousy can be a factor. Why are we jealous of someone if we can obtain the same type of item, idea, etc.? We should be jealous of what? Things we can't have that are beyond our reach? I don't know. I just feel sorry for her, she has to see what she looks like, know how she feels physically. I could, that's why I'm here. Maybe she hasn't reached the same despondency that I did.
NANCE - Sometimes it does take company to get us motivated in the cleaning department! I didn't take any pics when I was in Houston. I'm getting old and I keep forgetting to ask gd how to put pics into the post. I only think to ask her when I'm on Board and she's not here.
Well, I will check in later. I just took a break from going through medicare insurance plans. A drag!! But I am looking forward to my birthday this year. I will be Medicare eligible not a moment too soon. Just got notice BC/BS is being raised $68!!!!! Thank you very much, but no thank you!
Take care all, see you later. If gd doesn't need puter for homework will be back for chat!

I know we're going to E'town on Friday, but as for the other days? I don't know what's going on..
Oh, It isn't the MIL's mother who died from the BC...it is my Niece's mother...my SIL...that's why Cathy's reaction was so bad..Even though she was only ten when her Mother died, she remembers all the bad stuff, and can pretty much only put death with the diagnosis...She is doing much better now though andf her MIL???? She's doing better than all of us...VERY GOOD ATTITUDE which is what it takes these days...And everything has come a LONG WAY in eighteen years...
Good feelings about Jackie...She deserves a good report on this one..I've got everything crossed in her favor!!
I'll see if I can get Cathy to tell me what the plans are..What day would you want to come down?
SUSAN Be careful on your trip...DON'T JINX us...REMEMBER..it's STILL HURRICAINE SEASON!!!
Best of the best for your DAD...You're right...these procedures are very low key these days...nothing like a few years ago when they stayed three to five days in the hospital!!
Check in if you can...let us know how he does ;)
BIG BROTHER TONIGHT!!! Can't promise I'll be in chat tonight...But have a good time to those of you who drop in!!
CHRIS Pretty SNAZZY picture for a vacation...Are you SURE there isn't something else you want to tell us????

Good evening everyone!
Thanks for all the warm welcome-backs!!! It really feels good to see everyone and have the motivation happening daily!
GATOR: As BOB said, unfortunately we've got to gang up against you!! Those Gators are on top too often!
SOL: I'll definately check out that recipe board because I'm wanting to cook some new things. I'm tired of meat and beans already!!!! Also thanks for the update on Deb!
TV: I can relate in a different way to what you are going through. I lost my mom when I was 12 to breast cancer. This may sound horrible but I didn't really feel her absence until I met my husband and couldn't share any of the wedding plans with her. Then, over the last 3 years I've had 5 miscarriages and it would have been much easier to have her shoulder to cry on. My parents separated when I was 8 and I lived with my Dad so I had some "adjustment" time without her. Also, I was so young....I guess I didn't really understand the permanance of the whole situation. But, let me tell you - when the absence hit - it hit hard. So, I can sympathize with you. Try to keep your spirits up and know that we are thinking of you.
NANCE: Oh the pressure of having the SB gou-rou coming to your house!!! As much as I would LOVE to meet Deb - I don't know if I'm ready for her to visit!!! HAHA!!!
SEF: Thanks for the encouraging words!! I know I can do this! Maybe we can have a SB lunch one weekend in New Orleans - after football season is over!!!!
BOB: I tell you what - that's gonna be one big wagon if I don't get a grip!! So great to hear that you are doing well. I definately agree that those Gators need to be put in their place!! HAHA! When I was on the board last - I think it was May - you had just quit smoking. Did you gain that much - or are you exaggerating? I'm sure that I'm the only one that has totally blown it out of the water here!! Gosh I'm so mad at myself! But, I'm back and trying again and that's what counts right!!?? So move over in that wagon and make some room for my big cottage cheese butt!! :dizzy:
By the way - how are you all putting the cute pics on your posts, the different colors, etc.? Everything has changed so much!! I need a book for dummies!
See you all on WIW!

Now, now, gals. Be kind to this ole Gator fan. I've been watching the Gators play since 1960, and they never even came close to winning the SEC before 1990, and it used to be a lot easier (before they had the championship game.) Heck, the Gators were ranked #1 for ONE WEEK ONLY before 1990. So those poor ole Gators are just makin' up for lost time! LOL
I also noticed that UT was ranked #1 in the really important stuff--partying. But I also noticed that the SEC schools seemed to have the overwhelming lock on having the highest number of schools on that list. I guess the south just knows how to party. In fact, that is probably what is to blame for my needing Sugarbusters. I partied so much in school that I laid a bad foundation, and am paying for it now. LOL. What! You don't believe my story!?
Karen2000--Hope you are having a grand time camping in Kohler right now. We are leaving on Thursday to come within 100 miles of where she is camping.
Now, Fruit, if the Gators win out I will forgive you. But, as I keep saying, anything is possible. I've seen the Gators play for too many years to know that they can blow it just as easily as anyone.
Marie, do you live where you need to speak French at all? I am progressing OK in my French lessons and have noticed that on a French board that I get on, many of the people are from Canada.
Gotta go. Take care.

Good Morning!
I'm happy again today! Down another 1.5 pounds! I just love the beginning of a "diet" I know I'm not supposed to use that word - but you just lose weight(or fluid - whatever!) so fast! It's so encouraging. So that makes 9.5 pounds since last Monday - also - part of that was my TOM! Who cares!! It's gone for now!! HAHA!
So, do we post this loss on another board or do we just leave it right here? Give me the latest scoop!
See y'all tonight! Have a great day!

Good morning everyone
Well the scales were kind to me this morning and I am happy to report that I weighed in at 198 lbs, which is three less than last week and one less than my lowest. Keeping off the scales daily seem to be paying off.
Gator - No, I don't need to speak French here. Most of the French speakers are in Quebec although there are quite a few communities in northern Ontario that are French speaking.
Fruitloupe - Welcome back. We can always find room for one more on that wagon. Nine and a half pounds in 9 days is fantastic. Who cares if it is only water at this stage. Take it any way you can get it. At least it is a good incentive for you to keep at it. There is a weekly Weigh In Board which you can post to as well as this one. Just check out the 'rules' for posting which are in Debbie's first post.
Kim - We posted at almost the same time on Monday but I didn't see your post until much later . Glad to hear that things are looking positive for Jackie. I just finished reading "Durable Goods" which was an enjoyable read, very insightful and quite amusing too. I picked up "Joy School" from the library to-day. I'll let you know what I think of it. I think that will be the next one on my list to read then I'll get to the one that Sol recommended. Hope your feet are warmer to-day.
Solshine - That must be very worrisome for you with your clients laying off all those people. I just hope you can hang in there. I was supposed to babysit again to-day but my dd has taken the day off so doesn't need me. I was looking forward to having another day doing lots of reading. Trouble is when I am home I can always find other things to do and keep putting it off. But I have so many books lined up now so I had better get at it. To heck with the housework - that can wait! I picked up "The Eight" from the library to-day. It looks awesome. The book I mentioned in my post to Kim is a fairly small book so thought I would read that first. Congrats on the loss to-day. You must be feeling elated to see it at last coming off after all your struggles. I am very happy for you.
Fillise - Hope things go well with your Dad's surgery. I think it is good that you can take this opportunity to spend some time with your family. As you say we just never know what's in store for us. Things can change so quickly. That was a good bargain you got on the plane fare.
Frog - Hi. Good to see you are still around. Hope you get your internet connection back soon. I miss your posts.
Nance - Hope you got all that cleaning done in preparation for the Dungeon Master.
Rhroo - I was wondering what had happened to you as you hadn't posted for a while. Glad to see you are still around. Forget about what is past and get back on that wagon and you will see those pounds come off again. How is hubby doing?

Good Morning Girls!!!
I'm alive, barely! Deb made me walk 2.5 miles instead of my 1.25.
Now I'm going to have food supervision in the kitchen. She living up to all your worst nightmares...Watch out she may be coming to your hometown next!
We're going to head up to a little town called Oak Glen, which is like apple pie heaven....How I will survive getting a piece is beyond me. Hope pple cider is legal.
I'm happy to report I'm down a pound from last week. Now at 224.5, I'm sure after Debs leaves there will be a significant weight loss.
Well gonna have breakfast and get ready for the day!
Hugs to all!

Hi all - I'm back from vacation in North Mrytle Beach. Hated to leave. I was really enjoying the ocean although it didn't like me. I sunburned even with the blocker on and the ocean made my lips swell and blister - salt I guess. Oh well, a lot of lotion will cure all of it. But the nights were great. Walks along the beach and hot tubs.... Sad to say I didn't lose any weight, but very GLAD to say I didn't gain.... So now I'm back and ready to settle down again.
VAButterfly - I was on Sugar busters from January until May - lost about 15 pounds. Then I lost 10 pounds on low carb and came back to Sugar Busters August 1st. Couldn't take the low carb thing. Not enough variety and I really don't need to eat that much meat and fat. I had open heart surgery three years ago and quit smoking. Have done well so far, but really need to get this weight off. Am determined that Sugar Busters is the way to go - WOE for me and just love the support of these Boards. I really need to read them every night to reassure myself. It does help. Thanks to all.
Don't know how my message got on last weeks Board. So here it is again. Hopefully I did it right this time.

Howdy all!!! Hope the steel monster was kind to everyone. Im still
at 174 and Im not complaining, just wish the scale would budge a bit. I might be in a stall so I will need ideas on how to overcome this. I cut down starchy carbs to 1 a day.
TV - Sorry to hear about your dad, but I too know where you are coming from. I lost my dad in October and am still grieving. I must say the holidays, and birthdays are the hardest to take. I even find it hard to visit my mom cause I expect my dad to pop out and say hi. This Ive been told will pass and I trust in the Lord to help me through this.
Welcome back Rhoo and Linmae and Fruitloupe.
Nance - glad to hear The Deb Meister made it.
Well Im off for now. Will try and check in later.

Hi everyone:)
Nance - Way to go on the walking. You'll be doing the 4.5 miles with Deb before she's through with you. If you are missing apple pie ask Deb about her Apple Betty. That's a good substitue, it has a toasted wheatgerm topping and is yummy.
Deb - How's it going there. Have you needed to get the whips out yet?
Hope you are all having a great time.
Lin-Mae - Hi and welcome back. Sorry to hear about the sunburn, that can be agony I know. It doesn't take long to get a burn by the ocean but it sounds like you had a great time apart from the burn. Don't worry about not losing while away, at least you didn't gain so just hop right back on that wagon again. We are all here to help each other along.
Marie.

You are doing great with the colors and the fonts but have you tried hitting PREVIEW REPLY before hitting SUBMIT. This will bring up a window above the posting window and will show you how your post will appear on the board. Then if there is anything you wish to change you can do it before submitting. Hope you don't mind this little bit of unasked for advice.
Have to run. Off to play badminton this evening. Will check in again later.

Hello. I’m back. Just finished reading and feel pretty caught up. Seems like everybody did well this week on WIW. Everybody, but ME!!!! I am back up the 2 pounds. But I have to say one thing . . . I was having a major dookie problem yesterday. But now that’s all better so I will give it another shot tomorrow morning. I know for sure, that was part of the problem.
Had an okay day at work today. One of our machines had a virus and I had to get that fixed. Luckily one of the computer wizards from down the hall took pity on us and gave us the fixit stuff. That was so wonderful. Then a printer wouldn’t work also. So dh came over at lunch and took care of that. I was feeling much less pressure after those two problems were solved.
I’m listening to an interesting book on tape by Deepak Chopra called “Perfect Weight”. Anybody hear of it? It’s pretty good and I am learning a lot about the philosophies on health and weight from the Indian viewpoint. I just started it again and will share after I finish the second time. Right now I don’t really understand it. Just bits and pieces.
ROSALIE---I too have used the Fantastic Brand of foods. They are really tasty. Years ago I went the vegetarian route and that’s before there were so many types of veggie burgers. So I mixed them up with the F box mixes.----Hey, way to go on the loss. How wonderful. I remember you were having some difficulty and getting really upset with the scales. I think giving them the old cold shoulder really put the fear of god into them and they are now cooperating better. So thrilled for you!!!! Glad to hear that you liked Durable Goods. Wasn’t that little girl’s personality so adorable. Funny at times, but also so heart wrenching at the same time. What book did SOL recommend?----Hey, thanks for the suggestion about previewing my posts. I will certainly give it a try.
Hey FRUIT---Welcome back!!! Sounds like you are ready to get to work on the pounds. And it sounds like you are having some big success. Over 9 pounds in such a short time. Whew!!! We’re all turning green with envy. Just kidding . . . I’m really happy for you. Keep it up!
SOL---Did you see that I’m practicing with the codes? Thanks for your assistance. This isn’t so hard afterall. So sorry to hear about your client doing the major lay off. It really sucks! No such thing as job security anymore, that’s for sure. Hope everything is okay with you all and that you find 10 new clients. (Is that enough?)----CONGRATS on the second consecutive week with a LOSS!!! I am so happy for you. I am kicking up my heels and doing the happy dance for you too. So great!
BOB---Yes, I will be ORANGE with you this season. But you’ll have to keep me posted, because I don’t normally watch college football. (I think I heard GATOR gasp all the way up here!!! LOL)----And speaking of sports . . .the game was fun last night even though the Reds got spanked. Got to see Mark McGuire and Griffey hit home runs. That was pretty cool. You should see the stadium. They have cut this huge section out of the left and center field. Remember how it was a full circle, well now it’s like a pie with two generous pieces cut out. I like it so much better this way. But they are building a new stadium and needed that space to make it fit. Hard to describe. Let’s just say that one of the construction workers caught the McGuire home run ball. That’s how close they are!----As far as Louisville goes and getting together, I don’t think we have anything scheduled for that weekend. Let me know when you are free. We could at least get together for a meal or something. Wouldn’t you think? We don’t mind the drive. As a matter of fact, we like taking those leisurely drives. They have fantastic fireworks here on the river on Sunday night. It’s the big end of the summer celebration. But we usually don’t go down for it because of the massive amount of people.----Poor Cathy, no wonder she is so upset. She has terrible childhood memories. But she needs to realize that medicine has come so far in just the past few years. They really can work miracles. You are so right about the positive attitude. Jackie was just saying to me this morning, “Laughter is the BEST medicine!”
RHROOBABY---So sorry to hear that you can’t flick that funk away! Just know that there is a reason for it and sooner than later it will be “gonesville” and you’ll be your silly old self. Just know that your sisters are here giving you lots of good thoughts and brainwaves and sending angels of happiness your way. Can’t wait to go sneak a peek at you and hubby-boy! Will you win “cutest couple on campus”? Hope you get the AOL IM going? It’s really fun.
NANCE---Oh my GOD!!! She is cracking the whip but good! Our hearts are with you, but thankful that our bodies aren’t!!! DEB you know I’m kidding!!! Anyways, hope the visit is going well. How was the PIE???? Actually, I’m putting my money down that you didn’t even get to have the cider. I can just see that look she gets when something illegal passes by. Can you tell I had a meal with her before????? (LOVE YOU DEB!!!)
LinMAE---Haven’t met you yet, but want to say WELCOME to this wonderful corner of the virtual world. It’s good to have you with us. Also congrats on staying the same while on vacation. That’s a real feat and you must have worked hard not to gain. Keep up the good work! My MIL does low carbs because she’s diabetic and I don’t think I could stand the restricitons. VERY, very difficult! But it certainly works for her.
CAT---You and I are almost at the same weight!!! Let’s be buddies and try to get this off together. What’s your goal? Mine is 135 and quite frankly, that seems like an eternity away!
Was there a chat last night? How was it? Sorry I missed out. Have a great Thursday. I think we’re going to watch Billy Elliot tonight. I got the DVD from the library and haven’t seen it. I’ll let you know.
Bye all.

EVENING EVER BUDDY!!! :D
BOB went to the nutritionist today...My partner in crime and
local weight watcher buddy went with me. It's a program we can get thru the hospital..in six week installments...NOW..the following is what DEB figured out for me while I was in the
dungeon
2500 cal per day
69 fat grams
281 carbs
187 protein
The following is what the nutritionist gave me today
2000 cal per day
60 fat grams
195 carbs
63 protein
PRETTY CLOSE EXCEPT FOR THE PROTEIN MAYBE YOU'VE MISSED YOUR CALLING OH MIGHTY DUNGEON MASTER
I scared the **** out of myself on the scales so as you probably already guessed BOB will KEEP THAT NUMBER TO HERSELF FOR A WHILE!! :?:
NANCY Got your note today... Pretty spiffy if I must say so myself!!
Watch out, sounds like you're venturing too far out of the dungeon....you'll feel that chain jerk pretty hard I had places on my neck when I got home...:o
Has ELI cooked anything for you yet?
I've got this back misery going on right now, and I believe it's from lugging around that heavy chain out in the back yard...you know...the one attached to that little wooden house ;)
MISSY BELIEVE ME I've gained....and after seeing those numbers this morning....I'm totally embarrassed!!!
Hope all that rah rahing we will be doing for the next few months will help...WE CAN DO THIS....AND WE WILL....
The reason I went to the Nutritionist? I need structure...I need to be accountable and have to step on the ONE EYED MONSTER
in front of someone...This will be much better than WEIGHT WATCHERS...didn't like that anyway...I won't miss handing out that extra $10 per week either!! ;)
BIG BROTHER at 8pm tonight...Hope DEB lets Nancy watch tonight....
I'm off to lurk...

NANCY I KNOW THAT LOOK THAT KIM IS REFERRING TO

Hey gals!! Just a quick visit to say hello! I've got some lesson plans to write so I can't play for very long.
Today was another good day on plan. Right now I'm absolutely starving and I can't wait to eat supper. I cooked a SB legal crawfish fettuchini (not sure of that spelling and I don't feel like looking it up!! HAHA!) Anyway - it's really good!
Other than that, I'm really struggling to make it through each day at school. The kids that I have this year are very cute but they are not very good listeners! I'm already losing my voice from having to talk over them. I had to "Lay down the law" today and put the fear of God in them. We'll see how tomorrow goes. Then to top all of that off, I had to put my car in the shop because of some unusual noise that it was making. So, I go to Enterprise to rent the car that is supposed to be on hold for me - and it wasn't there yet!
It was in route and would be another 30 minutes!! UGH!!! And of course, today was errand day! Go figure!! Don't you just hate days like that?!? Oh, well, it's all over now - hopefully tomorrow is better. Normally, on a stressful day like today, I would have inhaled some no no foods - but I DIDN'T and that makes me very proud of myself!:smug:
Well, I'm sorry to run off without posting to anyone - but my stomach is calling!!!!
Love you ladies!!

Been working those long hours again & just too tired to get to the board. Just now skimed over the newest posts & see that it's slow this week.
Fruitloope!!! Welcome Back. We've missed you!!
Nancy Sounds like you're scrubbing your fingers to the bone! When is the big visit going to be? I'm sure that you will have a wonderful time.
TV, So sorry to hear that your dad died. Yes, it's true that it's hard to get over the loss of a parent. I remember what it was like to loss my dad. It will take some time. My prayers are with you.
BOB, Thanks for the jokes. That was too much! LOL
Hi SolShine, sorry to hear about the layoffs. Look really busy at work so that you will have some job security ;)
Froggie, girl, sorry to hear that you are still without connection at home! Miss you.
Ann, How is the garden?
SEF How was your WIW??? Hey, I just realized that no one posted about WIW today or did I just miss it??? OOPS! went back & saw that I missed a whole page & don't have the time to read it tonight.
Susan, Hope you have a safe trip. WOW! What a deal you got on that ticket.
Marie Hope to get a chance to chat again soon. Is it still cool in your area or is the heat back??
Sorry, I know I didn't get you all, but haven't finished reading, so Hi EVERYONE! Got to get to bed. I am just so darn tired  tonight. Will try to catch up later.

Good evening to all.
Been a couple of days since I have writtien, but I have been hear reading
about everyone. You all are doing so well, even if the scales isn't moving
the support says so much. Things have been ok with me, trying to figure out
some things, baggage, that I have been carrying around, and I guess I decided that
seeing how O am losing weight I might as well get rid of the emotional crap to. But
I had to come to the point and get ready to let go. NOw I feel like my ready to really
work my butt off.
BOB when you get the wagon going, stop and pick me up first, we'll go together.
Solshine....great doing for two weeks in a row. You give me encouragement
Fruitloupe..good to seeing you here again....a great going on the good start. YOu and
I are almost at the same weight....you are a couple pounds
ahead of me....I know how you feel and where we are going. It may seems like long road
, but one pound at a time!!!!!
Rosalie....great going with that weigh in. You mentioned a couple of books, what kind of books
are they. I love to read and I am always looking for a good book.
Nance.....Reading you post I kinda got the feeling that we should look forward to Deb coming to the door,
like it the Publishers Clearing House in reverse. Like praying she is really looking for someone at the house
next door. Of course, I realoze that I had be careful, cause I only live a couple hours away from her.
Honestly I really hope that you both have a great visit and enjoy the time.
Well, today WIW was a hold steady for me. Not a gain and not a loss, I'll take it.
I wish all a great day tomorrow and hope we can all stay on program.

KELLY - Saw Marie Cromwell on Today. In my hometown we had a child who shot a child when they found gun cabinet unlocked. Family never thought to ask if guns were in the house.
Probably because in that area there are a lot of hunters and guns. I know what both families went through it was devastating.
SPARKLE - Enjoyed the pics. Looks like you had a good time!
QUILTER - Maybe I need my friend from Houston, I did not lose anything since I got home and weighed myself Saturday morning. I don't think I've been goimg overboard since I've been home. Along tho I have been losing, plateauing, losing etc. So maybe 2 weeks of losing I am plateauing again.
FRUIT - How could we lose the party title? I though LA was the partying place of all times. I moved here and realized we didn't know how to party in PA!
Getting together in N.O. would be fun. I'm trying to become a Saint's fan, it's Unlouisianian not to be!!!!!
Congrats on loss. YOu can do it!
SOL - Did you start the bluebird kit? How's it going if you did? HOOOORAY on the loss.
FILLISE - Hope all is going well NC.
BOB - The only things I know about football I learned from my crossword puzzles. My kids are diehard fans. The three here make innocent wagers. No money, just I bet soandso wins. But if you want to know the names of passes, or types of scores I'm your gal. If I were a fan it would the the Nittany Lions, good old Penn State!
Whenever I visited my dd in Baltimore we would go to Orioles games at Veterans stadium. We did go to Camden yards before she moved. I do like baseball. We'd go when they were playing the Royals or Yankees.
RHROO - I have ICQ. #87291417. Have not used it in a while. When I tried to add you to my contact list, I couldn't seem to do it. There were only a few I talked to and they seem to have fell by the wayside, can't figure out how to delete them either. So if you find me lurking give a buzz.
You'll get back on track. Keep reading here. This board does wonders for us.
ROSALIE - I am impressed. Nice loss!
LINMAE - You signed up whiloe I was in Houston. Belated welcome to the Board. Looking forward to getting to know you better. I had friends that loved Myrtle Beach, went every year. Like you I burn even with high protection lotion. When I went to
OZ. I got a terrible burn. Two weeks after I was home I was still dealing with sun poisoning. Dumb Blond thing........altho now it's more gray, should have known better. But it was a cloudy cool day at Bateman's Beach and I thought with the lotion I would
be okay!
CAT - Now that you mention carbs, that may be my problem the last few days. I've been eating normal amount of carbs and I guess I really shouldn't. Wasn't eating that many the last couple of weeks.
MELF - Sorry you're working so hard. Remember, sometimes meds can make you tired.
LAMAP - Hey, getting rid of both physical and emotional crap is not the easiest thing to do! You've been working hard at it and you will succeed. You'll feel like a new you.
I love to read too. While at my friends I read a book I had taken with me, then I had nothing to read at night so I went shopping. I found a new author (at least to me), Barbara Dellinsky. I read "Together Alone" and enjoyed it so much I bought another of her books, "For My Daughters". They are not romance novels altho both had subplots of a romance. More of a character story. I cry at movies and books, I embarrass myself. I've spent the last two nights crying over sections of Daughters, yet it is not a morbid theme. I will definitely see if the library has any of her books, seven bucks a pop is more than I can really spend now,
but I was desperate for something to read.
I think I really caught up with things now. Today was a busy day, wnet for haircut, went to church to do my Librarian stint, read over insurance packets for Medicare (I don't know how two companies can have such a difference in benefits for same premium!), made supper, went to choir practice and sat down at computer. Now I am going to read paper, watch a litlle TV and head to bed to read a while.
Hope all is well. See you tomorrow!

Good morning all! WIW was ok 157 which it still 4 lbs above my all time low of 153. Anyone else struggling with the last 10? Drop me an email maybe we can help one another ldblond@hotmail.com.
Any how, I have been trying to read everyone's post and it seems that we are all plugging away at life and doing the best we can to achieve our goals.
Also, I'm sorry that I was so out of touch that I didn't know about some of your family losses. I'm so sorry. May God Bless your families and help you to heal.
I have to get back to work, but I wanted to check in and say hi. I haven't heard from the Dungeon Master, but I know she is only a town away, so I hope to see her before she leaves.

You are are such sweet people. Thanks for all of the kind words concerning my Dad. This week has been a tough one (PMS just really intensifies those emotional moments!) and the good thoughts helped me through it.
I didn't get a chance to do WIW, but I got on the scale this morning and IT HAD MOVED!!:o I couldn't believe that it happened during TOM, but it did!! I am now
157/147.5/125 since 6/4/01
This is the first time I've been under 148 since starting this WOE.
I know its just 1/2 lb, but I have been waiting on this for weeks:smug: Any downward motion is always encouraging. I have been very strict this week and drinking my water (a struggle for me to get it all down) and cut down on the nuts. I did get that AB Doer on Sunday and have used it every night - maybe that is just the kick I need to get this stall behind me!
I took my almost 4 yr old (his b-day is Sunday) in for a check up yesterday and he is such a little runt, he weighed 33 lbs. He has the smallest little frame and he is such a monkey. When most kids would cry and try to keep the doc from checking them out, he laughs so hard you can hardly touch him. Of course, when they stuck his finger - that was different :( All was well though and we picked out his cake (a monster truck cake) and spent the rest of the afternoon just horsing around together.
I need to go to lunch now, but I'll check back later!

hello all!!
Sorry I haven't been on and chatting, but have been busy and trying to keep my head above water.
My dh got a job and I think it will be really good. Now just waiting for the paycheck to catch up on bills.
As far as WIW I stayed the same, so doing good. But have lost a 1/2 in around my waist and a 1/4 around my thighs. Starting next week on monday's and wednesdays after work I'm going to the corporate fitness center for 1 hour. That'll help alot and I have a hard time working out at home with Cristina and then get soo busy doing house work that I don't find time to do it.
Well I need to get back to work. So talk to everyone later.

Hi Everyone - thanks for the hello's. Gotta find out how you all have those neat things by your names - on the left. I love all the different pictures.
Shirley - I poison too with the sun. Most of my burnt up chest is now a rash and itches like crazy. My chest incision got infected also, so I'm sure glad I had such a good time and didn't gain any weight. I couldn't stand much more of this fun :dizzy:
Kim and Marie - thanks for the welcome's. I'll need lots of support so I'll be counting on everyone. I'm a person who can lose weight, but keeping if off is my problem. Of course I have a lot to get rid of :o I really am determined this time and I've never tried Sugar Busters before. I've finally - at 54 years of age - realized that this has to be a WOL for me - not a diet. And I do love eating this way, so its going to work. Our garden is helping a lot. Nice fresh veggies and zuchinni every day. :D
Have a meeting tonight so probably won't get on again. Will try to catch everyone daily around this time. Linda

It's me again. For a minute. I also noticed something else that I don't understand. It is currently 6:48PM here in New York, but the time on here says 11:48PM - how can that be? The time thing really has me confused:dizzy: :?: Thanks. I'd really like to know how to add the pictures like you all do. Boy, I'm just full of wants tonight.... ;) Linda

After you click on profile, click on edit profile & edit options & you can change your time, add an avatar, which is the little pictures you see under our names. Check it out. Make sure you go to the bottom of the page when you finish & submit changes you've made.
I found an article in a health magazine that I'd like to share with all of you on the board. Will try to type it out this weekend.

Hi Girls....the Dungeon Master is away, so the mice will play!
Got out of exercising today, had to take DS to the Orthopedist to get his cast off. Deb and Eli kidnapped the kids and went to San Diego for the day. Dan the Man and I drove up to Palm Springs, rented a movie and had a nice dinner.
BOB
In answers to your question....no, ELi hasn't cooked yet, but I've got all the ingredients and hopefully tomorrow he will grace us with his presence in the kitchen!
Marie
Made Debbies WW SPonge cake recipe....haven't cut into it yet, waiting for the Dungeon Master to try it first and let me know if it is edible!
Quilter
Oh, I know the look, trust me! I was making Dan the Man breakfast and I got "the look" and I had to explain that it wasn't for me!
We didn't get any apple pie at Oak Glen but Eli and the DS did!
Eli tried giving me a piece right when Debbie walked around the corner, but I was strong!
Well, I'm getting tired...wanted to let you know I'm alive and kicking!
Have a great night!

Hello everyone!
Yes, Chris is still in the land of the living. I have not posted lately not just due to a lack of time but because I have been having a very hard time staying mentally focused after all the excitement of vacation is over. It is quite easy to slip into a fog until you don’t understand how so much time has gone by. I am determined not to fall into that trap again!
I’m making some attempt to catch up from the beginning of the week, forgive me I can’t go back farther than that.
Debbie
Wow. Seems like the first time in history that you’re not posting OR weighing yourself. Enjoy the break! You need a shift in mental focus every once in a while. Have a great vacation and I miss you already!
Nancy
You’re doing a great job as sub-mod! Thanks for the compliment on the pics! I’m halfway jealous of you and Deb spending time together but then again, I’d have to hide all the jam! ;)
Kim and Catlover and Kelly and ME and anybody else who wasn’t 100%
Remember it’s a way of eating and not a religion or a contest. Just ask yourself what led up to eating a certain food and say, oh, I can do ____ differently next time. We’ll get there!
Susan and Marie and the rest of you who DID stay OP
Good for you, you are an inspiration!

Good luck chasing down the ants. I swear I totally got rid of the roaches in my kitchen, but I spied two of the buggers this morning at 2 am. So it’s back on the warpath for Chris.
TV and LinMae
Welcome to you and all the other newbies!!!!
My roomie got that Ab-do thing. I watched with fascination as he put it together. It cost something like a hundred bucks. I tried it and maybe I’m not getting something (the instructions are on video and we don’t have a VCR) but it doesn’t seem to provide all that much resistance. I never do abs with weights but it wasn’t enough for me. I’ve tried lots of machines, being a gym-nut, but there is no substitute for the good old fashioned crunch, done right.
So Martin is using it as a computer chair now that he broke the old one. Occasionally he does a he-man stretch or two with loud grunts. I normally trip over it in the dark trying to get to my room.
GatorGal
That’s great advice about only worrying about sticking to it for a certain length of time. That’s what I’m doing at this crisis in my life: I’m going to do my workouts this week NO MATTER what else goes on or how badly I mess up my food. So far so good except for yesterday I tried my best to get to the gym despite babysitting my niece but just couldn’t manage. Got an extra 40 minute bike ride in today though.
Sef
I LOVE your attitude girl!
Find a friend who wants to sabotage you, and show them they can't!!!!!!!
You are GREAT! I would have been completely undone at first by a “friend” like that. But you used her negativity as fuel for your determination! Hats off and a standing ovation to you for THAT as well as 6 pounds, which is a big accomplishment. you rock!
Lara
So glad that you are recovering. You’ll get back to 155 and even 150 just slowly and surely! Sometimes I feel like I haven’t made any progress AT ALL but looking back in my diary I see that I HAVE lost a few pounds every month this year. Just a few, maybe one to three, frustrating at times, but better than the wild ups and downs of most of my life.
BOB
LOL! To answer your question yes it’s fishy to take pictures, or so that chick at Sears thought, but I figure, well we won’t be together for the longest time and maybe ever, so I might as well get some pictures done so I’ll have something better than standard snapshots to remember my vacation by. But actually, the real reason is that he has this one picture on display from the submarine ball a couple of years ago. We were fighting so I refused to go to the ball alone with him and invited our friend Laurea. Then he wanted us to get portraits done and I refused to do that alone too so the portrait has all three of us in it. AND I’m wearing this horrible dress, have no eyebrows OR collarbones. Something had to be done. Oh, I just HAVE to scan this picture. Hold on. Of course, I’m on the left. Laurea is on the far right. That’s Brian in the middle.

How are you my little Florida ray of sunshine? I see the scales are finally starting to move and shake! Whoohooo! Happy for you!
My sympathies for the slowdown in the industry. I’m experiencing somewhat of the same in the securities industry as people are very discouraged by the down market. You would THINK it was a good time to invest, but there is so much negative emotion. Our company is really struggling to stay alive right now.

It sucks gaining back but remember you are still AHEAD of where you started and TODAY you can make it all downhill! Congratulations on the new computer, makes life so much easier. Mine is okay but could definitely use an upgrade. I was fine till I started optimizing pics on the BIG machine (my roommate’s, this is his old one) and I was spoiled rotten!

I remember you.....don’t know if you remember me by this point! ;) Where’s that pic you promised to post? Maybe I’ll find it further down.

Publishers Clearing House in reverse....LMAO!!!!!!!!
Okay. So that was a SUPER HALF-ASSED job of “catching up.” So bite me. It’s almost midnight and that child wore me out last night. I really felt the need to at least make the effort though.....BAD THINGS happen when you stay away from the board! ;)
As I said I’m determined to get back to the gym this week after deliberately and blatantly skipping all last week.
Monday: killer lower body and abs
Tuesday: 20 minutes running (2 miles) with 15 minutes of walking thrown in just for fun
Wednesday: had to babysit the little monster
Today: Very thorough and awesome upper body workout, did extra set working back muscles (low row AND lat pull down) because I feel like I’m having a hard time targeting my back. And I had an extra bike ride to the gym (40 minutes total) which wasn’t quite cardio but something.
So I feel a lot better I was really depressed after vacation because all the excitement was over and things have been VERY difficult at work. Finally I came to a resolution: instead of being overwhelmed by my future plans and what I want to accomplish in the next ten years, I’m going to focus only two years ahead. That means getting my professional designations and worrying about finishing up my bachelors degree AFTER the two years are up. At that time I’m free (in my own head) to review my options and totally switch gears if I want to. Took off a lot of that anxiety.
Martin has been very sweet to me since I got back, cooking dinner often and generally being very thoughtful. So that helps. he wants us to buy a new truck together, probably an extended cab GMC Sonoma. I really am against buying new cars but finally I said yes since he’s going to swing the payments (and me the insurance). So that might happen in the next month! How exciting! I’ve never even driven anything but real beach beaters.
Okay, zzzzzzzzzzzz......... It’s great to hear how everyone is going even when I can’t catch up!
Love,
Chris

Morning!
I'm posting quickly again today. I just kind of skimmed posts to try to catch up! I'm at 270 today and I'm feeling better about myself! I'm so proud that I've been able to stick to the plan all week!!:D
SEF: I'm not a huge Saints fan either. They've been here in Thibodaux the last month for spring training and I didn't make it out to see them one time. I'm walking distance from Nicholls and don't go. So, don't FEEL like to you HAVE to be a saints fan - not all of us are!! HAHA!
LAMAP: Yep - we are very close in weight - we can hold hands through all of this. How tall are you? I'm about 5'9 1/2" - if you are as tall as me - we can share clothes!! HAHA!
Well, I won't be back online until Sunday. In the mail yesterday, I received a newspaper article from my grandmother - it was about her! She is shooting hoops for Cancer at the CajunDome in Lafayette this weekend. Mind you - she is 88! In her day - she was an All-American basketball player so whenever something involving basketball goes to Lafayette - they call her up! So - I am going to watch my Momee shoot hoops for a good cause. My grandfather and Mother both died of cancer - so this has extra special meaning to her!
Well, have a great weekend!

Hey Ladies...
Just a quick post to say we are back from our vacation of French Food cooked by a French guy.....so needless to say I am frantically NOT weighing myself and trying to recoup! Haven't weighed, hopefully the walks on the beach counteracted some of the baguettes and home grown honey I ate (yikes)....
Next week the kids go back to school so I hope to get into abetter regime as well as a better posting regime. Hugs to all - have a crazy day today with checkups, haircuts, birthday parties, cleaning this mess of a house, etc.....

OH MY GAWD
SHe made me walk, not one, not two, not three, but FOUR laps around the park....I thought I was going to DIE, but I made it. I did 4.5 miles!!!! Mind you I can't walk to the kitchen now, feel the blisters developing on my feet, but I did it!!! Also made the infamous WW Sponge cake which I cooked at little too long, but it still taste good!
Today we're just taking it easy. Deb and Eli are going up to the Living Desert (Zoo), but Dan and I decided to take it easy and stay home. This afternoon we're going to the movies, which is in the air conditioning!!!! Tonight Eli and I will be in the kitchen (if I'm allowed), so I'm sure I'll be back to report about the delicious food!
Have a great day everyone!

Hi everybody - I woke up this morning to a one pound loss. I am excited with each and every pound. After vacation and no gain, no loss I was a little worried that it would all catch up to me at some point. HURRAY.
Have been reading all the posts today and would really like to learn about the workout with the weights. I've never tried anything like that and it sounds painful, BUT, I'd like to try it at least. Right now my husband and I walk in the morning for 1 - 2 miles and we have a pool that I do exercising in. In the winter I ride a stationery bike - was at 4 miles a day this past winter. Any thoughts to if I'm anywhere near enough exercise??? Probably not.
Talk at you all later when I have more to say. :) Linda

I am down and out today - I missed BF because of problems at work and completely blew lunch because I just wasn't thinking. :?: Went to a little sandwich place famous for ham and turkey - got a club on wheat and they were both done up with honey!! I went ahead and ate about 2/3 of it because I was starved! Now I just feel sooo guilty! I'm sleepy and hungry and just want to go to bed!:(
I'm gonna drink 32 oz of water on my drive home and hope I can flush my system.

I'M SOOOOOO READY FOR THE WEEK-END!!!
LinMae - There's a killer website on weightlifting for girls and if I can find it I'll post it here. It's an ABC guide and I love it! If you're working hard and getting your heartrate up where it's supposed to be for at least 20 min/day 5-6 days/week then you're doing awesome -- of course anything is better than nothing!
We're off to a 'movie & pizza party' for a friend of ours who is going off to college this week-end. She's going to a culinary school in S. Florida - maybe she'll be near DEBBIE! I made MELF's Zucchini Pizza to take with me so that I won't be upset about not getting to eat the real thing. If you haven't tried her recipe you are really missing out on something good!! I won't feel the least bit deprived!
Tomorrow we're going to finish painting the guest bedroom and hanging my new curtains in there. I'm excited! Then to a Hoe Down wedding of one of Vince's co-workers. No lie - I think the groom is wearing overalls!
BOB What's our movie lineup for tonight? I hope you get some good ones!
NANCEMEISTER OMG!! She kept making you go around the track?!?! NO MERCY!!! She didn't break out the whips yet, did she? She's going to have you a lean, mean sex machine before you know it! BETTER WARN DAN THE MAN!!! Thanks for keeping us updated. Y'all continue to have a wonderful time!
Okay, I've gotta run!

Hello everyone! It’s a “happenin’” Friday night here. Hope you all are doing something exciting or relaxing or just darned fun. Today was my day off and I’ve been doing a little of this and that. WalMart, grocery, and laundry. What a life!!!!!
LAMAP---Glad to hear you are kicking emotional baggage to the curb. That must be a tough thing to do. Are you reading any good books to help you with it? Good luck. Isn’t transformation wonderful???? A new body and a new outlook on life to go with it!
SEF---Shirley, you know you’re just hitting a plateau right now. AFter that big six pounds your body will need a few days to recoup from the loss. Hopefully, that’s right and that next WIW you’ll see another fabulous loss. Hey, who owes who an email??? Somehow I think it’s my turn??? Glad you found a new author. That sure is a good thing. Hey, I haven’t forgotten about that needle work. Just have to get into that organizing frame of mine . . . not an easy thing for me to do! LOL
CAT---Thanks for the email address. I will definitely take you up on that. We can have fun comparing where our plateaus hit the hardest. But then again, maybe we won’t have any!!! How’s the golf? I used to golf a good bit and really loved it. But when I bought my house I found that my golf money was needed elsewhere, plus there was so much stuff to do around here. I bought the house when I was still single, so I had a lot of stuff to do with no help. My weekends (best golfing time) was taken up with lawncare and other essentials. Someday I’ll get back into it. There’s nothing like the feeling of a good swing and a ball sitting right smack in the middle of the fairway!
LDBLOND---Oh, you are so close to your goal. I have all my fingers crossed (and I can still type!) that you get there very soon. You will!!! Just keep up the things you did to get this far and your goal will become a reality! I’m pulling for you!!! Also hope you get to see DEB while she’s out west!
RALYNNE---So happy to hear that your hubby got a job. You both must be feeling so much better now. And when those bills get paid it will be even better. Right??? Maybe this new job will be better for him and that it will be something so great that he couldn’t ever have imagined it. That’s my hope for both of you!
LINMAE---Boy do i envy you with your garden. That’s so great for you. There’s nothing like summer and good yummy veggies. We just don’t have a very big yard, so there’s no room for veggies. Two of our neighbors always put in tomatoes, peppers and stuff like that. The problem around here is that the squirrels see veggie gardens as their salad bar. I’ve found half eaten green tomatoes in our front yard. I guess it’s kind of funny. But it is definitely cutting down on the harvest. If I had a garden, I would plant two things for sure . . . tomatoes (alldifferent kinds) and zuchini. Those are my favorites and you can do so many things with them. Also, glad to hear you had a loss today. Keep going girl!!!! Those pounds are falling off you!
NANCE---Even tho you are complaining, I know you all are having a fabulous time. Just hope you don’t have too many aching muscles by the time they leave. LOL
CHRIS---Just for the record, I’ve never once considered SugarBusters to be a religion or a contest.
LOUPE---Glad to hear you are feeling better about yourself. Just remember that we’re all here for you and we think you are FABULOUS!!!! Speaking of fabulous, you grandmother sounds like the QUEEN of FABULOUS!!! I know I would love her. So much energy at 88. What’s her secret? Whatever she’s taking/doing/thinking, I want to start it now!!! Hope you all have a great time. What fun! Can you scan a picture of her in action and share it with us???
VIV---You made me laugh out loud when you said you were “frantically NOT weighing yourself.” That’s such a perfect description, because I have been there and done that. Scale, what scale??? Hang in there, it might not be as bad as you think. Thanks for the emails today. As always, you can read my thoughts perfectly. Perhaps, you should be afraid. Hmmmmm.
TV---Honey, if I drank 32 oz of water in the car, I’d have one of two things: a soggy driver’s seat or a night in jail for flashing some poor sucker while doing the squat-and-pee along the roadside. Hope your bladder is stronger than mine. Don’t beat yourself up for the lunch thing. Those things happen. I have had days where I end up eating something I’d rather not because it’s the ONLY thing to eat. A lot of times I bring an insurance meal so that I’m not at someone else’s mercy. But then somedays I just can’t do that. Remember each day, we do the best we can. And you have no control over the past, so lunch is over and we’ll just start again, right??? Remember what your signature quote is “we can’t move forward until we leave the past behind us.” Words to live by. You are doing well and giving a lot of your thought time to this woe. It will work for you.
Well, for some reason, this is taking longer than I thought. So I will close for now. I hope that we all ahve wonderful weekends that are filled with tons of smiles and hugs and laughs and released pounds!!!
Catch you on the flip side.
Kim

Good evening everyone :)
Had a fairly lazy day to-day. Should have worked but stayed home as I have a cold. Good excuse for not doing any work around the house. I got caught up on some reading. Had a good eating day to-day so far. Made Zucchini Omelet for breakfast and my ds had requested Zucchini Pizza (Melf's recipe) so that is what we had for dinner. I had planned on having it yesterday but didn't feel like making it when I came home from work so had it to-day instead. Also had dessert to-day for a change - I made Apple Brown Betty (Deb's recipe) it's yummy.
Kim - The book Sol recommended was THE EIGHT by Katherine Neville. I've just finished reading JOY SCHOOL and I loved it. That little girl was charming and I liked her friend too - Miss Know-it-all from the first book.
Lamap - I've just finished reading DURABLE GOODS by Elizabeth Berg and have just finished JOY SCHOOL by the same author. Both recommended by Kim and are about a young girl growing up. (See note to Kim above). Are there any particular kinds of books you like to read?
Melf - Hope to get to chat with you soon. I'm going to be working for the next couple of days but I will be home and lurking in the evenings. Monday I work the evening shift then off for a couple of days.
Sef - Thanks for some more book suggestions. I will check out Barbara Dellinsky later. I always like to have some authors to check on when I go to the library. Can't stand to just browse and hope to find something.
Bob - How are you getting on with your new eating schedule? I was wondering if you made a typo in the figures you posted from the Nutritionist. If you work out the calories for the grams she gave you it only comes to 1622. I wouldn't like you to be not eating enough.
Fruitloupe - I hope those kids are behaving themselves better now.
TV - Glad to hear that the scales are beginning to dip. Your ds sounds like a cute little guy. Hope he enjoyed his birthday cake. Don't worry about that sandwich you had to-day. Just put it behind you and start afresh.
Ralynne - You must feel relieved that dh has settled into a new job. I am happy for you. Those inches lost are just as important as the weight. I'm sure the scales will be moving down soon.
Sparkle - Great pics. It's good to see you posting again. That ab-do thing reminds me of the stationery bike my late dh used to have. We had it in the bedroom but after the first couple of months it became a clothes hanger. It stayed there for a couple of years until I persuaded my dd to take it.
Nancemeister - I just knew the Master would be getting you to do the 4.5 miles. Hope the blisters aren't too bad. Sounds like everyone is having a great time though.
LinMae - Another pound gone - way to go. Your exercise schedule sounds good to me. Walking and cycling are both good exercises. Same for swimming/exercising in the water. Daily exercise is ideal but even three-four times a week is O.K. too.
Solshine- Hope you enjoy the movie/pizza party. We love that zucchini pizza too. My ds actually asked for it. It's good to have someone in the house eating the same as me.
Fly, Amser, haven't seen you post for a while. Are you lurking out there?
Bye for now
Marie.

I didn't want anyone to think I had abandoned "wagon". I must admit, though, the ride continues to be a bit bumpy. My weight is, thank goodness, at least hovering between 120.5-122. WIW I was back down to my lowest, 120.5, but soon enough on Thurs, it was at 122 again:mad: I just need to get through the weekend, and I will regroup on Monday!!!!!!! We are going racing again this weekend. I have brought mostly OP stuff. Of course the others have to their kind of food, and I am having a time with my willpower. Oh well, the world certainly won't end because of it. I have been keeping up with all the goings on with all of you. Yes, it does seem quite weird not seeing posts from our SUPER CHICK!!!!!!! Nance is doing a great job with keeping us updated though. Even if she's having to drag around all those heavy chains!!!!!!! Wonder if she knows how to pick the locks yet????? And I can't help but envisioning Deb really carrying Nance the rest of the way the 4.5 mikes - JUST KIDDINGG!!!!!!!!

I'm free till Monday!!! Yeah! I'm so glad to have a couple of days off, does it show? hehehe
The scale was not nice to me this am :( But that's ok cause I'll be back down before WIW.
Tomorrow my 3 sisters & I are going to Mom's house with her & start packing things away. As most of you know, she has been in the nursing home since May but her personal things are still in her house. When I went by to visit her Tuesday, she mentioned that my baby brother & his wife will be moving into the house next month, so I asked what she planned to do with all her personal belongings that are still in the house. To make a long story short, we will be helping her make a list of the entire family, 8 of us kids, all our children, theirs, & so on...then an inventory list of all her things. She will then decide what she wants to give to who. She will give everyone something. This will give her control of what happens to her belongings instead of packing it up till she's gone, which we all know will happen one day. That's not something I really care to think about, but as a nurse, I see her general health deteriorating. Anyway, it will be good to spend some time with her. I don't think the 4 of us girls have been with her all at the same time since Christmas. Hey, this is a web site I had made for her as a Mother's Day surprise last year. She cried when she saw this page & I had sent it to all my family online & had them post a message to her in the GuestBook. That made it so special for her. Check it out! http://www.homestead.com/roomforyou/Marysindex.html
Sorry, it was not my intention to go on so much, but once I started, it just seemed like I needed to share that with someone & you're there! I do appreciate all of you on this board!
Sonya, glad to hear that you like the zuchinni pizza. I was telling another friend about it today. Hope you're party goes well & you have enough of the pizza left for you! LOL Hey, that hoedown wedding sounds like fun!
LinMae, you did it! I like your avgar you choose. Good job. congrats on the loss too. Keep up the good work!
Well ya'll, I'll post more later...got to go.

Morning everyone! Just got off the treadmill and had a little breakfast. Now it’s time to post before hitting the shower. I did 35 minutes on there this morning. Slept late otherwise I was thinking about going an hour. It amazes me how our bodies work to protect us. Sweating is truly a wonderful thing. When I first get on the TM I am thinking thoughts like “how boring” or “I should just cut this super short today” But as soon as my sweat glands get going, I am on there for the duration. I have really noticed that it works that way for me. If I can just make it through the first 10-12 minutes, it’s really easy to go the distance after that.
Speaking of walking, I went to a fabulous breakfast this week. Sponsored by the American Cancer Society, it was the kickoff for their Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk on October 28. I’ve decided to do it this year (walking for Jackie and my cousin Dianne). The breakfast was great. There were well over 500 people there. They had speakers talk about research and new medicines and stuff like that. Also had a recent survivor share her story. Very motivational. I can’t wait to do it. A couple of girls at my office are thinking about walking with me. And I’m hoping that Paul will too. Maybe I can get a little group together . . . TEAM QUILTER. : ) Anyways, I’m committing to get on that treadmill everyday so that I can walk the 5 miles with ease. Wish me luck. I’m sure you all will be hearing more about it as it gets closer.
ROSALIE---This zuchini pizza sounds wonderful. I must look for MELF'S recipe. You keep talking about it and I’m going to get out there in that kitchen. The fact that SOL took it with her to a pizza party only adds to your praises of how good it is. So happy to hear that you enjoyed our little friends from Elizabeth Berg. Yes, I agree that the know-it-all next door neighbor was so funny. What a prim and proper little person. I can’t remember anybody from my growing up years being quite that organized and put together.
LAMAP---Yes, as ROSALIE said, I would also like to know what you like to read?
AMSER---Hope you all have a great weekend and that hubby brings home that big check! Hey, thanks for that email you sent yesterday. That was such a great one! Certainly the way I want to live my life. Where did you get that?
RHROO---Let us know how your five-mile walk went! Did you see the paragraph above where I describe the walk I’ll be doing in October. Hey, the feeling is mutual about your posts. I love that you are always laughing when you write. Makes me want to do the same thing!
MELF---Good luck taking care of all of your mom’s stuff. That sounds like a monstrous job! It’s good that you all will be working on it together. BTW I treid to go to your website and I couldn’t get it to work on my computer. I’ll try later on hubby’s faster better, bigger computer. Sigh.
Well, I’d love to stay and chat some more, but we have hair appointments very shortly and Paul’s still being a bed slut. He loves to lay in bed. I can’t stand it. If I’m awake, I have to be up. Of course, I don’t give two thoughts to laying down in the middle of the day to take a well-deserved nap. Have great days. We are going to one of the gambling boats tonight, but we’re not actually going on the boat. One of our friends plays in a band there so we’ll just get as far as the buffet and the bar. Should be fun. SEE you tomorrow.

Hi all! I was AWOL yesterday. I had things to do and was really in a lot of pain. I just couldn't add to things by sitting at the ol' 'puter! I didn't even vacuum and dust! Today is much better but I still have discomfort. I try to resist but some days I have to give in.
I have been going in the pool every day since I got back from Houston. I vacuum and skim, then swim. I enjoy it and it's good exercise.
LINMAE - As long as you feel the burn was worth it! I know how you feel, wouldn't have traded the day at Bateman's Bay for anything! Like that sense of humor! That's what keeps me going!
You're getting smart about your weight quicker than I did. I had to wait until I was 64. There's a PA. Dutch saying, "Too soon old, Too late schmart." I hope it's not too late!!
Time difference is due to the fact that Board uses Greenwich Time, I think I read that somewhere!
Hey! One pound is good! Any downward trend is good!
SPARKLE - Sometimes we need a vacation from the vacation. We had all the excitement of planning, then the doing and when we get home again there is a let-down feeling. Don't let it influence your great resolve! Get a-hold of those boot straps and do what you're supposed to do with them!!
I was pretty proud of myself with loss. Then when I got home I stalled. But that has been the story of my woe, I have plateaus and I am NOT cheating!!!
When dd lived in HI she had a Toyota 4 WD. It was terrific and she took me to places I would have never seen if she hadn't had it. I think it was a South Beach (End?) that we bounced along through gullies and fields to see a green sand beach. We also saw two hunks skinny dipping, sort of made the trip worthwhile!! LOL
FRUIT - No curiousity? I think I would would have walked over to Nichols just to see what it was all about. I read the paper a lot and read up on them at times. People are impressed at times that I'm not a football fan but know a little about what's going on.
WOW!! What a Grandma!!! I hope at 88 I'm still bouncing around like that!
VIV - Welcome back, if you gained you'll soon lose those extra pouinds.......because you're going back OP and will kick butt!!!! Lose butt?
TV - Guilt doesn't help! I know! I feel guilty and I want to make myself feel better and wind up eating more than I should! But that is in the past. I still feel quilty but I don't jump into food with both feet! So forgedaboutit and go on with life! (Oh, if I could just take my own advice!!!!!)
QUILTER - No, I owe you aan email. I have been catching up on those days I was away. Yesterday was a lost day. Had a little flare-up so was hurting (still am a bit), but I did do 3 loads of wash, went to store, made meatloaf and mashed potatoes (sweet potato for me) for supper, skimmed pool and swam. I was even in bed by 11, didn't even read (gasp!). Today is a little better. Want to make some pita chips. Tomorrow choir is having a get- together and I was some munchies I can have. Dil found Nacho Cheese Sauce that has no sugar. Rico's at Sam's. It does have maltodextrin but it is last ingredient so I will survive!
ANN - Have missed your posts. Hope you have a great weekend and kudos for planning to take foodstuffs you can have.
MELF - We did the same thing for my mil. One of the things about going into a nh is loss of independence. We wanted her to know she had control over her belongings and decision to sell her house. It took a while as she had to reminisce over certain things and she would tire easily. We had no deadline and she was able to say goodbye to the old way of life. It was tiring for the rest of us too, but it was well worth it for her peace of mind.
NANCE - You have been doing a great job with the Board! That and all the walking too!! Just think how good you'll feel when you see the results!!
I think I am up-to-date. If I missed anyone I'm sorry. Will try to check in later.

Good Morning Girls!
Well....Deb and Eli are on the road to Vegas. Deb has to get MORE shopping in at Trader Joes before they borad the plane! We had a real nice visit together and I was sad to see her go.
Dan liked me having my own personal trainer/food supervisor right here in the house! We had a real good dinner last night and Ldblond came over and joined us. I was stuffed afterwards!
Yes BOB, Eli made his famous Lemon Chicken, Deb made Hummus that was ALL GONE, Eli aslso made his yummy salad, and I made Teriyaki Tri-tip and a brocolli casserole. I needed to
lay on the floor after all the food!
Deb brought some of her pictures with her and I got to see more mug shots of BOB, Quilter, VIV, and some of the other previously posted! Then see took plenty of mug shots of me....which I can't preview before she posts them....WATCH OUT if she comes your way because you never know when she has the camera in her hand!
We went to the movie yesterday and saw RAT RACE which had some laughs in it....slap stick comedy.
Dan is eating leftover right now, and Deb supplied us with enough
coffee to last 1/2 the year!
We're going to head over to my Mom's house and go for a swim and just relax and enjoy the last few fleeting days of vacation!
Talk to you all later!!!

Bob, you're a girl after my own heart! I grew up near the ocean and would go there. But my favorite place was the spring fed pond that we went to in Milford, PA. It was always cold and refreshing if you overlooked the snakes and fish swimming with you!!!! People would ask us why we went to the mountains when we lived near the ocaean......DUH!! Where did they go for vacations?
You'd be disappointed in our pool, you can't swim laps, it's not that big! But I do go back and forth its short length and do my exercise along the wall and in the middle.
You can drop by anytime!

I'm back! How are y'all?!?
We had a wonderful trip to see my Momee shoot the hoops. She was absolutely precious. They made her a uniform with her name and her old number on it. They even gave her the warm-up uniform. It was wonderful! She has been practicing for 2 months - every morning. A local gym gave her a free membership so that she could practice. We went with her Saturday morning to shag balls for her and she did a great job. At the event - she was the opening "act" You know how they have celebrities come out to throw out the first pitch of the baseball games? Well, she shot the first hoop! She shot 6 times and only made 2 of them - she was so mad at herself!! We were all so proud of her - and everyone just loved her! Just to be able to do that at 88 is amazing to everyone - but not to her - she was mad that she didn't make more!!
As far as eating goes, I didn't stay on plan this weekend - but I sure didn't overeat. We were on the go so much that we really didn't eat much at all. Just - the things I did eat weren't OP. So, back to the drawing board today! I'm hopping right back on!
QUILTER: I took lots of pictures of Momee - so once I get them developed - I'll get my friend to scan them for me to post. I also have some of the both of us - I just had to have one with her in her uniform - she was so cute!
BOB: She had a big write up last week - I'll see if I can find a link to it - she also made the local news last night!
SEF: When the Saints came down here last year - we went 1 time to the practice. What we liked to do was go before practice because there was ususally a band playing. So, we'd put on our walking shoes and walk to Nicholls, listen to the band, and walk home. It was really nice. We just didn't get around to it this year. Some of our very best friends from New Orleans are huge Saints fans - so we are definately kept up on Saints scoop. Having them in Thibodaux has brought a lot of money to the town and to Nicholls - so we are glad they are here - I'm just not going to run to a game at the Dome when you are looking at spending no less than $200 with tickets, parking, etc. for 2 people. That's rediculous! We'll stick to the LSU games!!!!
Well, ladies, I'll talk at ya tonight!!

Hi all,
Just got back from the choir get-together. I think I did very well. I took our Pita Chips, Nacho Cheese Sauce, dill pickles, olives. Someone had roasted a turkey and yet abother brought cauliflower. So I was able to stay OP. I also took some lemonade.
Everyone loved the pita chips. I had taken regular nacho chips for the non-believers and most people kept eating the pitas.
I did not tell anyone they were considered diet food. Just told how to make them when asked by different ones.
So another temptation has been faced and met with honor!!!!!!
There were so many goodies like potato salad (remember that?) and desserts.
FRUIT - I wouldn't know where to get 200 bucks from and IF I did I would spend iy on something better than football!!
A very slow Board today. See you all in the funnies!!
Take care, Shirley

MISSY Can't wait to see those pictures and read that article..hope you find the link..
OKAY....WHERE IS EVERYONE????
I'm making one of Deb's wonderful quiches...it's in the oven now and starting to smell!! Getting ready to wiz up a batch of hummus....grilled up enough chicken to get me through wednesday night...6 pounds of green beans in the fridge..UNCLE SAM'S in the cannister...YEP...I'm ready for the week!!
Got some air put in the wagon tires and will climb on up in the morning..ANYBODY WANT ME TO PICK THEM UP????
My hard drive crashed again and I went to BEST BUY and bought an E MACHINE hard drive...got it home...wouldn't work..took it back..made sure I was hooking it up right...I was...THERE WAS NO MODEM IN THE DAMN THING!!! Exchanged it for another one,
they hooked it up and were starting the EARTHLINK download for me when they discovered THERE WASN'T A MODEM IN THIS ONE EITHER!!! I said..this is enough to make me not want this brand...and they say....well, ya know...E MACHINES went bankrupt and we don't deal with them any more!!! WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE????
Came home defraged and ran the scan disc and so far so good...
My nephew is going to try to get me a new hard drive thru his work...I'll know tomorrow...
Hope everyone had a good weekend...I didn't accomplish ONE THING!! and today was totally spent at BEST BUY and that was a bust too...SO DOES ANYONE MIND IF WE RERUN THE WEEKEND???

Hi all - Got my exercise this week end. Our son, daughter-in-law and two granddaughters love to go to archery shoots and this week end asked us to join them. We just walk along and I keep score for them. Now let me tell you - I got my walk in and my total exercise.... Those trails are steep, winding, and then downhill - one to one and a half miles each. I walked four of them. The only thing that hurt bad were my feet. I was really proud of the shape I've gotten myself in. I joked to my son that there was no reason to kill me off - I don't have any money to leave him. He said actually, he was thinking about calling my cardiologist and telling him what a great job he did - I couldn't have done this 4 years ago. :D It was a great time and to top it off our 6 year old granddaughter placed 2nd in her division.
Kim - Yes, we are fortunate to have a garden and all those great vegetables. I'm with you, I love zuchinni and I cook with it almost every day this time of year. Also we have both Roma and grape tomatoes - love em....
Solshine - I'd love the name of that weightlifting site. Thanks.
Marie and Mary - Thanks for the congrats on the weight loss. I am determined that if its a pound a week I'm sticking with this and will be happy with that loss.
Sef - Thanks for the words of encouragement - I need them too. I'm with you, humor is the best medicine and way to enjoy life.
Nite all - after this weekend I need that rest. Linda
