Smile Anyone else High Risk??

Hello, I'm 21 years old and I am expecting #2. I have a son who turned 1 on may 5th. I am due on oct. 23rd, but my doc said that we will probably go to around 36-37 weeks, so probably will have the baby around early october to late september. But anyways about my high risk, with my last pregnancy I had pre-eclampsia so I delivered by c-section at 36 weeks, which I was lucky since they found out during the c-section that I only have half a uterus and 1 overy. So, I think if I would have went full term that there may have been some problems. With my last pregnancy I actually had a lot of problems, I had bleeding just about every other month which we didn't know why until now. I just hope that since I have had one child already that my uterus will be stretched out so nothing will go wrong. I was just wondering if there is anyone else out there with the same problem as me or any other high risk problems that they would like to share. Thanks!!

Congratulations and welcome. Although I don't have the same problems as you, I am considered high risk and have been on every other week appts. for a while now. I have gestational diabetes and am a repeat c-section. I go in once a month for u/s and alternate the other appt. every month with 24-hour urine checks. I also have the anti-E antibody and that has to be checked monthly.

I am also considered high risk.

I have very large babies-my first was 23", 10lbs, 4oz and 23" long with a very large bone structure. It was an assisted delivery (vaccuum extraction) and she/we had problems getting her shoulders delivered-that injured us both. I had postpartum hemhorrage (sp?) with my first and had to have emergency surgery afterwards to stop the bleeding.

My second was induced/delivered almost 4 weeks early due to size, and he was still larger than normal-over 9 pounds with the same bone structure as my daughter.

I have problems with gestational diabetes as well, and due to my last two experiences, they are monitoring this baby and its size carefully. I am at 26 weeks, and he is still breech, and measuring larger than normal right now-so the trend of big babies is continuing.
Of course, if he stays breech-they have to do a c-section, but if his size continues to increase as well-then they are more likely to do a c-section this time around, rather than having me deliver naturally. They are trying to avoid some of the problems I have had in the past due to the vaginal deliveries that I had with my former doctors. (but really shouldn't have.)

I had pregnancy-induced hypertension with my first pregnancy and was on bed rest periodically starting at 24 weeks, and full-time from 33 weeks til her birth at 39 weeks. Bummer.

Then with this last one, I had three outbreaks of bacterial vaginosis. The doctor didn't know why it kept coming back. But I ended up going into labor at 36 weeks. There is a correlation between having BV in your first trimester and having a premature baby but it's not directly linked in all cases. Anyway, he was fine but we had to stay in the hospital the full 48 hours (I'd planned to come home right away in normal circumstances) which sucked. He was big for a month early though - 7lbs even, 20 inches long - and is still in the 80th percentile at almost 4 months old.

Hope all goes well for you... it is so difficult to be pregnant even in the best, most IDEAL circumstances!
