Smile First time here

Hi Everyone~

I thought I'd drop in & introduce myself. I've about 55-60 pounds to lose to get into the midrange of weight for my height (I'm 5'4" & currently 187 lbs.)

So far I've decided not to 'diet' but that I need to make long lasting changes to my eating & exercise habits. I'm thinking of South Beach, but haven't made any final decisions.

I expect it to be quite a journey as I'm a creature of habit. I love my rut. It's comfy & safe here. However, I'm venturing into clothing sizes I've never had to buy before.

So anyhow, I wanted to say hello & how are ya & I'll be dropping by often.

Default G'morning all

Thanks for saying hi & being friendly & welcoming . I'm off to the library to hunt for cookbooks & information on the Volumetrics plan for my husband.

We talked last night & have decided to try & buddy up to lose weight together. We each have a similar amount to lose. We're competitive & yet support each other too. Has anyone else tried losing with their spouse?

We've decided that once we've each made it to our goals we're going for a long weekend away- hopefully to Philadelphia or NYC.

welcome aboard. genregirl...i understand what you are saying about venturing into clothing sizes you have never had to buy before. i was heading for an 18 misses when i decided it had to stop. I couldn't afford to go up another size and i didn't want to go up another size. so far, i have only really dropped on size and 30 pounds, but i hope to start toning up my midsection which i think is keeping me from getting down 2 sizes. my hips are vanishing but my midsection is being stubborn.

good luck on picking the best way for you to lose. just realize you have to do what works for you. i count calories and try to include some veggies into my diet. and i don't drink anything that isn't calorie free....well, except for my coffee in the morning which has creamers in it. (i really do need to stop doing that!!) anyways, good luck and definately come here as much as you can. everyone here is soooooo supportive.

my bf and I are on a diet together (not the same one) but he has been at it longer than me, he's lost 40 lbs to my 8 (I just started) so anyhow, it's nice because I never have to deal with there being junk in the house!
