Morning all! Still raining here, might have to go buy a boat! This is nuts. Supposed to go on a 4th grade trip to Mackinaw & the Soo Locks next Wed-Fri, I really hope the rains stops by then.

Have a fabulous Tuesday!!! :)

SUE...just had to comment on your pix...you have a BEAUTIFUL family! And the house is coming along isn't it? You must be so excited! Also, you must be so proud of DH...the furniture is absolutely gorgeous! Love the walnut vanity!

Sue--I think all of us want to put our orders in!! I love the vanity too!! I was hoping Derrick would coem home to an empty camper after her speech and realization that he is in "lust" with Meredith...

Angie--I watch the CSI Vegas but not the others--I have never cared for David Caruso (I think that's his name)--no particular reason...

Robin--DH & I used to go on the kids field trips--good memories!!

Good morning to everyone else!! Gotta get to work...

Good Morning Ladies!!

Sue--Your husband does beautiful work! How wonderful of him to join you in eating healthy with you!! That makes it so much easier when you have someone there that want to eat the same as you rather than making seperate meals.

Michelle--I had no idea they had strength training in high school! Wish they had it when I was in high school! I would have developed better exercising habits that for sure! It was VERY hot yesterday.....I came home around 10:00 and it was still in the high 70's!! bizarre for Oregon in May!

Jane--Having my son call was special to me. And to have him say "I love you" before he hung was even better. Such a wonderful family he has, they have raised him well! I'm hoping we can meet up w/him and his family this summer....maybe at the coast for Jhanai's birthday. Which is where she wants to go this year.

Jules--I'm with you on David Caruso....never cared for him either. I've heard so much about Greys Anatomy from co-workers. I have yet to watch it. James always has something on he's watching while the show is on.

Kathy--Sure hope your little one doesn't have chicken pox! Keep us updated on that! Hugs for him!

Angie--That's the same stuff Jhanai got for her hair, Manic Panic. VERY VIBRATE colors indeed!:D Now where do they come up w/these names?? Dynomite Lizard?:dizzy: Not sure what to expect from her next.....keeps talking red and black. Who knows.

Robin--I hope your weather drys up a bit before the field trip.

Cristina--I like the walnut vanity too! Think we can put in a special order?

Hello to everyone else out there!!

I have got to get on my gazelle today....then it's off to wash my car. It's looking horrible w/all the pollen and bird droppings. Who could tell theres a pretty car underneath??

So I better get going before I run out of time

Hugs to all!!

Robin ~~ You are more than welcome to have some of our sunshiny, VERY HOT weather!

Marti ~~ It's amazing the different classes they now offer in high school.:?: We never had any choices, just the basic classes, including PE. She has physical conditioning and strength training, and she's building up some muscles in her arms. It's funny, because sometimes she likes to show us them. I wasn't very happy yesterday though, because of how hot it was, and this is her last class of the day, and he made them run outside at the track. She was so overheated when she got into the car, I pick her up every day.:o

Hi Ladies...

Marti, my car needs a bath, too. Have you ever tried one of those "touchless" car washes? I was skeptical that it would really get it clean with no scrubbing, but it seemed to work well last time.

Sue, your pics were great -- how exciting it must be to see your brand new house growing from the ground up! And the furniture your husband makes is just beautiful. Those kinds of things will be family heirlooms, handed down over the years.

Kathy, oh I hope it's not chicken pox! That is no fun at all! Hope your little guy is feeling better.

Michelle, yep, it's not even 11 am and Tim insisted I turn on the AC. We are in Northern CA, and it seems like it's unusually hot, but I know we usually hit triple-digits by Memorial Day weekend here. Ugh, I hate the heat too, I'm right there with ya!

Robin, you are going to Mackinac Island??? I have a special favor to ask you...my husband lost his favorite hat at Disneyland. It was a tan bucket-style hat that said something about "Mackinac Island Rescue Patrol", or something like that...it was a lifeguard hat. We got it when we visited his mom in Michigan a couple of years ago. While you are on the island, don't know if you'll even be near any of the gift shops, but if you happen see a hat like that, would you please get the name of the store, and hopefully the address, phone number, or website address, and PM the info to me? I'd love to order a replacement for him!

Angie, love your blog! I've been wanting to do that for a while, but can't figure out how to start one. I started to have a bowl of cereal this morning but the milk was sour, ACK!!! :barf: I thought of your cereal on the car seat story, and could totally empathize...

Jane, laundry and bills for me today, too. And a run to the store (gotta get milk!) The bike I want is a classic Schwinn tank...I don't care if it's one-speed or three-speed, as long as it's got a big comfy seat (to fit MY big comfy seat  ) Told Tim I needed a bike like me -- built for comfort, not for speed. Don't know if I can blame the medicine for this plateau, but it definitely may be a factor. Unfortunately, at this point I still need it. :(

Cristina, Kim, Jules, hi!

Well, I went in to work yesterday and they said they couldn't find anything at all for me to do, no "light duty" positions available, so they sent me home. *sigh* It's hard to believe there isn't a single thing there I could do -- I offered to process customer mail or faxes from apartment managers, because I could stop and rest from typing whenever I needed to if there wasn't a customer on the phone, but they sent me home instead. I can't understand why they'd rather pay me Worker's Comp to stay home and do nothing at all, than to pay me my regular salary to do something. I see my doctor on Friday, and will see then if she will modify my work restrictions. Even then, I don't know if I can even do my job, since I haven't been allowed to try it. To type a post here can take quite a while -- I have to stop frequently and rest my arm. It's very different if I have a customer on the phone, and have to complete all the work on their account...and there are other customers on hold, so I have to just keep taking calls.

'kay, gotta run to the store...see you all soon

Michelle
05-16-2006, 03:49 PM
 Katiecat ~~ I don't think I ever heard of what happened to your arm and workmans comp? One major reason I quit my last job, besides all of the verbal and mental abuse, was that all the typing was ruining my hands, especially the right one. I did go to the doctor and they thought I had tendonitis??? but not carpal tunnel. My hands are pretty shot now if I type for too long, but I love to come here, so I push it sometimes; I know not good. Have fun at at the store!;)

Hello ladies!

Katie - aww, I hope your doc will say you can go back to work w/no restrictions, but it sounds like you've still got a ways to go. You'd think there would be something you could do there, even with the restriction. OMG, you reminded me, I forgot to pay the bills. Must do that!

Sue - yowza! The DDs are gorgeous, and so are the furniture pieces. One thing I like about WW is that I get 3 meals and 2 snacks a day. I'm always eating something, lol.

Jules - can you believe Denny died? Boo Hoo. The actress who plays Izzie should get an Emmy for her acting last night. Who will Meridith choose, McDreamy or the vet?

Kathy - ah, I know just what you mean about internet in the country. I even got satalite and it goes in and out. Very frustrating! Katie's about to have a cow over it, lol.

Michelle - love the Pooh! Try to stay cool, hon.

Angie - love the new thread! Thank you for starting it.

Robin - it's been rainy here too, and I've had enough of it! Come on, sunshine!

Marti - I need to clean out my van. It's disgusting from where the kids sit in carseats. I'll put that on my list, lol.

Hello to anyone else reading this.

Well, I went town to get groceries and got lawn chairs, seat pads, a chaise lounge pad, and a huge planter instead. The cart was so packed, I checked out and came home, lol. I have to go back, anyway, to pick up some pictures.

I'm doing so great OP! I feel like I've crossed a line of determination, and with your help, I feel certain I can take off the weight again.

One more thing - I got a long-distance call from a friend last night, and we had an interesting conversation. But, the whole time we talked, I was thinking what a beautiful voice she has, and never did say that to her. I wish I had remembered to do that. It's sometimes the small things in life that help us get through.

Be good, ladies!

Hi All! Ok I had to get a Disney Avatar, I was feeling left out LOL

Michelle -- send that sunshine on over, this rain is crazy - thank goodness not the flood the south is getting, but we are getting there. :sunny:

Katiecat - We all leave for Mackinaw (Mackinac Island, Mackinaw City, and Sault Ste Marie) next Wed at 5:30 am! :yikes: I will print this off as I do plan to do a little shopping myself, so I will keep my eyes peeled for the hat!

Have a great night!

Sorry this is short, typing fast so I can go home...

Whew! This place has been busy. I love it!

Thank you all for the kind words about my pictures. I do have a wonderful family and a very talented DH. When he retired he started making furniture. He has made things for all of our kids, his sisters, my Mom and of course us. He makes a special gift for the "grands" 16th birthdays. The writing desk in the photo album is for DGD and the schoolmaster's desk was for DGS. (he uses it as a drawing desk) DH's goal is to give a handmade piece to each of his siblings and then the nieces and nephews. So that new workshop will get a work out. He has a large family! He won't sell his things...says the joy of it is giving them away.

I am in the midst of making dinner, so I will be back later to do individuals and tell you about my day.....

Back again. I have been so good today..OP. AND I got lots and lots of exercise. I helped DH on the barn for 4 hours. Unloaded and carried lumber, climbed up and down a ladder, lifted and held wood over my head for DH to nail. I imagine ever muscle in my body will ache tomorrow. I came home and walked 2.5 miles. :carrot:
I made homemade chicken salad for lunch and ate it on wheat bread. For dinner I cooked a pork roast, potatoes and cabbage. I ate one piece of meat and some cabbage. I had watermelon for lunch and for a snack in the afternoon. Kept up with my liquids and feel pretty good.
I am already looking forward to Fri. That is going to be my day for dessert...strawberry shortcake. I can use the low fat Cool Whip and a small piece of angel food cake and it won't be too bad. I just know me...I need something to look forward to.

Robin- Even though I am close to MI I have never been up to Mackinaw. I would love to though. When I was young I would go to MI with my grandpa/grandma to fish.

Michelle- I can't believe you are getting such hot weather and we are unseasonably cool. I don't care for the 90's. That is the reason we don't stay in Las Vegas in the summer. 119 degrees, no thank you! It did clear up today and we finally had a little sunshine.

Cristina- Hello, good to see you. I'm glad you like the vanities. That walnut was actually from a neighbor's tree and we had it kiln dried 3 years ago. It is the most beautiful wood, but it is almost gone. DH has done several projects from that tree.

Jane- Thank you! A bit about my DDs. One is 5'8" and one barely 5'2". Of course one blond, one reddish brown. No one ever picks them out as sisters...untill you get to know them. They are alot alike and like me and we are all like Mom The three of us can almost finish each others sentences. We seem to know what the other is thinking. One DD, myself and my Mom all ended up with identical reading glasses last year when we went for new ones...and none of us had seen the others. (key the Twilight Zone music please) :dizzy:

Katie- Hope you get to go back to work soon. Glad you like the furniture. Yes, with DH giving pieces to most of the family I think it will be things that get handed down. He even brands his name on the pieces so years from now people will know where they came from.

Marti- Today DH did great with his eating also. It is nice to have him eating like I am trying to. He has a "gravy" habit though so I wonder how long he can stay away from it. Ummm..and he loves ice cream. I just hope I can think of enough good things to fix to keep him interested. Do I remember right that you have a Chrysler 300? I was thinking that anyway. DD's new husband just bought her one and she loves it. Her first big car in many years.

Jules- Think you will have to get in line with your furniture order...haha. DD was on the phone tonight telling me that she wants some more homemade furniture. I had to laugh because she is in CA and hard to get anything to. I agree with you about David Caruso...he just creeps me out too.

Angie- I am glad you could see the pictures. I don't know where I came up with that link that didn't work. Add me to the list of people enjoying your blog. I wish I had started one with pictures and the saga of our house building. My DD in CA has a blog and posts pictures of my DGS. Keeps us in touch. It is just a great idea.

I know there are more ladies here and I am sory if I miss any. Kathy, Katy, "hi" and to anyone else I might have missed.

I am off to bed..pooped out tonight.

Hello Ladies--

Boy let me tell you....I just finished reading the Newspaper...(I forgot to grab it this morning) and we had record highs yesterday! Down in my town it was 91, the farther up North you go...the hotter it got! What in the world is up w/that?? Makes for miserable sleeping if you don't have A/C.

Michelle--I'm shocked that your DD's teacher would have the kids running in such hot weather. Wasn't it up to 96?? Heat exhaustion is not fun. And a possible heat stroke...scarey. I hope she got plenty of water in while she ran.

Katie--Oh I hope that the doctor releases you w/out restrictions too. But I have to agree...it doesn't sound like you're quite ready yet. Is it normal to feel this type of pain for this long?? And as for sending you home and still getting paid.......I'd be all for it!:D Now, do you have to do physical therapy?

Jane--I'm so glad that you're doing great w/staying OP. I feel the same as you, I feel as though I've reached a point to where I'm just so ready for myself to get healthy. I've got a good start and want to continue onward w/it!

Cristina--Hello! Now you're going to have to explain to me what a touchless carwash is. I've never heard of it. Katie uses it in Cali and you have one in Kansas...wonder if they're all over?? At first I was thinking it was the Mr Clean Car wash...which is what I've been using. Doesn't leave water spots! LOVE that! But I'm still scrubbing, which would mean that I'm touching........

Robin--I've never heard of the place you're going too but it sure sounds like you'll have lots of fun. I may have to google it and see what it's about.

Sue--Yep...I drive a Chrysler 300. What color did your DD get? When we first got it , I thought it was so huge. I felt small in it. But now....anything else is too small! My grandpa brands his name on his work too. It must be something that men do....kind of like marking their territory!:D

Well I better get myself to bed. I want to get up somewhat early so I can start on my exercising and my water intake. Plus I have some kitchen cleaning to do thanks to my wonderful husband who loves to cook...but doesn't like to clean up afterwards!

See you in the morning!

Morning everyone!

Sue -- that is funny! My DDs are blond & red headed as well! Oh are they opposites! little stinkpots! My Grandpa has a wood work shop too and also brands his name on his works. It is truly amazing how talented he is. I have many things that he has made special for me that I will pass on to my girls someday (if I can ever part with them).

Marti -- 91!!!! I wish! we can't get past 60 here with this darn rain - we are pretty excited right now, the sun is actually out. Almost forgot what that looked like. We have to enjoy it now, we get storms again tonight.

Oh -- Mackinaw City & Mackinac Island are fabulous places! If you camp, I recommend the Straits St. Park. :)

Here are some links (these are for the trip next week with the 4th graders):

http://www.mackinawcity.com/
http://www.mackinacisland.org/
http://www.soolocks.com/index.phtml

I have been to these many times but we travel and camp alot.

Katie -- how are you feeling? That is awesome you still get paid for being home, not too many employers do that. I am lucky that way too, working for the University has a lot of nice perks to it.

Cristina -- what is the name of the touchless carwash you went too? I tried one at a Shell station before and maybe it was just them, but it missed a lot of spots. Of course maybe it was because my truck is huge?

Have a fabulous day!

Jane

Good morning, ladies!

This has to be quick - I've got so much to do today!

Cristi - my van is still messy, but I just haven't had time to clean it out yet. Neal washes it, but I clean it inside. There's just so much to do!

Robin - I've seen pictures of Mackinaw Island - we have vacation/visitor info for the states nearby. I'd love to visit there! Neal used to go fishing at Houghton Lake every year, and we will go next June, he says. Is that near you?

Kim - I miss you.... hope all is ok.

Michelle - aww, thanks for the kind words.

Sue - are you sore today? I just unloaded 15 16x16 stepping stones from Neal's truck to the ground. Another 15 are still on the truck, lol. They weight about 15 pounds each! We have fresh strawberries here, too. YUM! The DGDs eat them right out of the patch. So do I, lol.

Katie - how are you doing today?

Marti - we have touchless car washes here, too. Yep, it feels good to be back in control. We can do this! Well, at least James cooks. The only thing Neal makes is pancakes, and that's not something I want around here, lol. He used to make chili, so maybe I can talk him into making a pot of that before the weather gets too hot.

Angie - good morning!

It's rainy this morning, so I'm going to go get the bathrooms cleaned and dust the house. It's supposed to be nice outside, later, and I've got more flowers to plant when it is.

I'll be back later if I have time. :)

Quickie for me too!!

Jane--Moving Greys Anatomy in Fall at the time slot against CSI-Vegas. I only watch three shows on a regular basis- those two and Cold Case. I think Meredith will eventually end up with Derrick but like most shows the reason people watch is the chase and once they are together interest sometimes is lost. Living in the woods and having two large dogs I can relate to the dust & dirt!!

Marti--send some of that warmth & sun here. Though I kind of like having spring temps--these last few years we have gone straight from snowy cold winters to hot humid stick summer with one week of spring in between.

Kimberly--I am going to be signing up for a kitting course at Y2Knit in Funkstown in June. For everyone else their website is www.y2knit.net if you want to check it out.

Sue--what state do you live in--I am thinking it's AZ--we are suppossed to eventually make our way to Phoenix to see hubby's cousins (maybe this fall-nothing definite yet)

Robin--my most memorable trip was with DD's group in 4th grade to the Baltimore Aquarium--two of the little girls had a crush on a little boy in another group and it was interesting to try and keep them all together. TheQuickie for me too!!

Jane--Moving Greys Anatomy in Fall at the time slot against CSI-Vegas. I only watch three shows on a regular basis- those two and Cold Case. DH went one year with DD to Baltimore Harbor and he had four rowdy boys and DD and her best friends. The teacher couldn't believe how well they behaved with him and wanted him to come back for every trip. DH is 6'2' and has tattoos what more could a rowdy boy want!!

Katie--hope your arm gets well soon. I would think they would find stuff for you to do too...Do they have the arm rest that attach to the desk--they help one of the workers here with painful tendonitis.

Angelia--come out, come out whereever you are!! I need to hear more about you BFL modifications when you don't have all the equipment.

Michelle ma belle-- morning to you!!

Jane - Houghton Lake is up north from me by about 1.5 hours. I live in Holt.

Jules -- I used to live in BALTIMORE!! I love that aquarium.

Don't you hate it when you find something you want and you cannot for the life of you find it anywhere? I mean I have looked EVERYWHERE, totally exhausted online & the phones at all Disneys LOL. I want this backpack & I can't find it :( It is driving me

Mine will be a quicky also! I have to post in the Pointer Sistas....:D And get myself going this morning.

:df: Robin--The place you're going to looks fabulous! Now is this trip for the 4th graders something they're doing for the end of the school year thing? They're going to have so much fun.

:df: Jane--I suppose I shouldn't complain too much about the splatter of food all over my kitchen.:dizzy: He does make great food. I need to go shopping before work so I can get some kind of lunch for work! In control......hoping it will stay that way!

:df: Jules--I'd prefer Spring weather over this. Since I go to work at noon, I spend my day in A/C rooms. But coming home to a hot and stuffy home!! Ugh! I'll do my best to send some of this heat your way!

Ok....I need more info here as I'm confused. Is a touchless car wash a drive through?? Where you just sit in the car and drive through this thing that washes it?? If so.....we have that around here.

Gotta get moving. Kitchen cleaned first, then gazelle and then I need to plan my meals.

Have a great day ladies!

Robin--DS wants to go to the Edgar Allen Poe house. DD's new friend that she just met this school year at Shepherd only lives two blocks from it so one weekend they are all going down and DD's friend will take them to all kinds of neat places--the joke is that DS and DD's friend (art major) will hit the museums while DD & DS's girlfriend go shopping...DS says they are eating lunch at Hooters with him sitting with the three girls!!

Hi All -- back from WI -- drats nothing lost (today anyhow phooey)

Marti -- Yep it is the 4th grade annual trip they go there every year as part of their Michigan history course. Should be fun really (except for the lime green hats and the fact they are calling for rain UGH!) Apparently I will be in charge of 5 kids, so I won't be bored!

Jules -- LMAO -- ok when I was 18, I was a Hooter girl in Ft. Myers. Mind you that was 18 years ago and I have since been married, pigged out & had 2 kids - here I am. My girlfriend and I thought it would be fun to open up a After Hooter's restaurant so the men that drool all over the floor can see what we look like about 20 years later LOL. :encore:

I wonder if I am exercising too much - granted gaining muscle is good but with not loosing like I want. It is a toss up -- toning is good I was just hoping to see it on the scale is all. (if you wonder: I do my bowflex & tummy tape one morning followed by 18 flights of stairs and a 1 mile brisk walk -- I spread this throughout the day due to time restraints. On the opposite day, I do weights & the tape (dang tummy is STILL there! after 2 months straight workouts) stairs and the walk - if it rains I do more stairs.)
I see it coming off everywhere but that tummy & I just don't ever see me doing the tuck thing 1. because it is surgery with lots of healing time and 2. the $$$ and 3. the $$$. Did I mention the $$$ ?

Hello ladies...

Sorry I don;t have time to do individuals, so much to do and already had a busy day. Josh is coming home Friday night :cp: and trying to get things ready. That and we painted our bderoom over mother's day and still haven't gotten that put back in order. Had to get a different comforter set because the one was UGLY to say the least!

ROBIN...think you asked what the car wash is called. For th elife of me I can't think of it. It's just around the corner and next time I go that way I will look. This one works GREAT! I used to go to the car wash that you get out an dod yourself and the funny thing...it worked and always got my mini-van clean. The first time I went to do my Santa Fe I left with a dirty car. It was the weirdest thing. So I was a little hesitant to try the touchless because I just knew it wouldn't work. Well, it did and have been going there since.

MARTI...the touchless car wash...I drive through and stop in the middle of it. The water just goes around the whole car, there's no brushes or anything touching it. Just the water spraying on it. There are four different washes and prices. I usually get the $7.50 one because it has the wax rinse and the dryer. Of course at that price I don't do it often, sometimes twice a month depending on the weather.

JANE...I just cleaned mine Saturday morning, inside and out. I've been cleaning the inside more since V bought me this hand held vac. Doesn't work as good as the big vac but it does work and is a lot easier to use.

Again, HI to everyone else. Will try to post more tomorrow. Won't be as busy tomorrow as today. Take care and have a good day ladies!

Julie - so what day are they moving Grey's Anatomy to? I like it just fine on
Sunday's, but they didn't ask me, lol.

Robin - wow, that's a nice backpack. I've seen a lot of Disney merchandise in the past few months, but didn't notice that. Katie can talk like Mickey, and she's been cracking me up with it. About your tummy, just give it time, and it will go down, hon.

Marti - I'm hoping Katie will do some of the cooking now that she's back, depending on what her hours are when she gets a job. She hasn't applied anywhere yet, but wants full time this summer.

Michelle - hope you warmed up today. It's been sort of cool here, and breezy. Before long we'll be complaining of the heat, lol.

Cristina - YAY for Josh coming home. How long is his leave?

Angie - where oh where art thou?

Yikes, I've worked hard today and am ready to hit the tub for a good soak. We got a lot done in the yard, though, and it's looking better all the time. At least we have some grass now, lol.

Have a good evening, and I'll chat with you tomorrow.

Jane ~ I heard on tv today that Grey's Anatomy is moving to Thursday nights; I've never watched this show before. It sure did warm up her today; too warm again! It's supposed to start cooling down tomorrow, YES! Have a good evening!

Jane --they didn't ask me either--the unfairness of it all--Thursday nights the same time as CSI-Vegas...how am I suppossed to watch two of the three shows at the same time--DH likes CSI but not Grey's--I guess I will have to be recorded it to watch as soon as it is over--but some nights I do watch Without a Trace but not every week.

Robin--I have to go back to the mall tomoorrow and pick up another ticket at ticketmaster for the kids so I will take the picture and ask at the Disney store for you..--Kids are going to see DC101's Chilli Cookoff--several bands they like in the lineup this year.

Cristina--what color did you end up painting the bedroom?

Michelle ma belle--your ever changing avatar is always the cutest!!

Good night ladies!!

Good morning ladies, it is 12:01 by my clock so that technically is morning, lol!

Was up waiting for Jason to get home but took a benedryl for a sinus headache and it is starting to work...never used to knock me out but now.

JANE...Josh will be home for 2 short weeks. Funny, the guy three houses down is over in Iraq and just went back last Saturday. He was home for two weeks too, two very short weeks. He didn't want to go back. Bet Katie is lving being home.

JULES...okay, what station/network is Grey's Anatomy on? And if it is going to be on Thursday what the heck show is it going to take it's place? They changed schedules before and I used to watch My Name is Earl and The Office on Tuesday and then they switched it to Thursday. Which was the time that I watched The OC, at 7 on Fox. Then I watched CSI (the vegas one) at 8 on Thursday. Now...My Name is Earl & The Office took precendence (sp? it's late) over the others. I HATE, HATE, HATE when they go changing the days and times of shows! The bedroom is a sage green. I like it but it has a totally different feel from the blue stripes. Once it's all together I will share before and after pics.

Well, ladies guess I'll get going. Feeling really sleepy. Good night!

Cristina==Earl on NBC, CSI on CBS and Greys Anatomy on ABC--why put all the popular shows on one night at the same time??? I'd love to see a picture.

Jules, good for you with the knitting class! You'll love it! She has a nice little shop, but I find her a little pricey on her yarn. For purchasing yarn, I prefer http://www.keep-me-in-stitches.com/index.html in Frederick. Don't get discouraged once you start using knitting needles. It feels SO awkward at first, but after some practice it becomes second nature! Let me know how it goes!

I went to Baltimore yesterday to see my friend, Robyn. She was actually sitting up in a chair in her hospital room! She still has the trach and the feeding tube and can't talk yet, obviously. But her doctors are very pleased with her progress! The scary part is that the pathology reports have still not come back. I'm afraid if the reports are not clean, Robyn may get very discouraged and we all know that attitude is so much the battle in cancer!

I had my first weigh in at Curves and have dropped 9.60 pounds and 8.25 inches!

Hope everyone else is having a beautiful day!

Morning!

The hippies won the Amazing Race! That was a good race this season!

Jane -- thanks! my tummy is in my prayers LOL

Kim -- Way to go on the weight loss!!! :cheer: I am keeping my :crossed: for your friend Robyn! Having been through cancer (breast) it is a scary thing, she is in my prayers.

Jules -- Thanks! If they have it I swear I will pee my pants! I cannot find it anywhere!

Ok I need opinions/help/advice here.... I am sorry this is LONG :dizzy: (yes my friend and I are both Robin's LOL - she is Robin O.)

I have a little dilemma where I shouldn’t say something BUT I have a feeling since we are rooming together at night, we will be together in the day time as well. This is the dilemma….. 3 weeks ago, Robin O. fell while mowing her lawn. She broke a rib and fractured a vertebrae. She can barely walk and is on big time pain killers (which aren’t helping her). She is adamant she is going on the trip. Now we are walking all day on Wed & most of Thurs. Not to mention a bouncy ride on the ferry. I know this is none of my business but if she is on my team, I think we are going to be held back and waiting A LOT and not keeping to the scavenger schedule (we have so much time to find all of the landmarks and take photos for proof we were there J This sounds bad but I do not want to be her babysitter or have to worry about her & not keeping up that wouldn’t make my part of the trip with my dd fun at all.

Would I be way out of line if I sent the following email to the Principal? If you think it would be ok to mention my concern is how I worded it ok? The email starts & ends with ***

***Mrs. C, (please keep this confidential, I think it should be brought to your attention) I know this is so not my place to say anything and I am sorry if I am out of line. I don't want Robin O. upset that I mentioned it but about 3 weeks ago she fell and did some damage to her back still making it difficult for her to walk.

I am worried that with all of the walking for Mackinaw she will damage her back even more. I do not know who she is teamed up with for during the day but maybe during the day she could/should be teamed up with a teacher who would be able to help her or get her medical attention if needed.

I feel bad writing this but I do consider her a friend and I am worried about her pushing herself too hard and making her back worse than it is. ***

What would you do??? :?:

I too am running behind today so will quickly post....

Robin, I think that sounds perfect. You're not bashing the girl at all, just showing concern for a friend. I don't think it's inappropriate at all.

Ok....must get going...will be back later on after work for individuals!

Robin--I checked at the Disney store--turns out they are not owned by Disney but by the Children's Place and not everything that you can find on the "official" disney site would be available..who knew....

Kimberly--I actually took a mini-class at AC Moore and was doing well (lot's of scarves) until I stopped then when I restarted I had to start over because I messed up when trying to cast off. A lady at work showed me again how to cast off. I actually only learned casting on/off & the knit stitch. Want to go back to learn more.

Marti & Jane--I will be back later myself...

To all others--have a great day!!

Hi Ladies...

Another busy day. So much to do and not enough time in the day. At least I only have a load of clothes to get done and vacuuming. Tomorrow will be a very long day. Josh's flight doesn't get in until 11:44, ugh! That's if it's on time. Poor V has to work overtime Sat. and on those days has to get up at 3! But he's still going to the airport...wouldn't miss it.

KIMBERLY...wowza! :bravo: on your weight loss and the inches too! That is awesome! Sorry to hear about your friend.

ROBIN...you know, I think it would be better coming from a friend than from the principal. Even though you say it is confidential, I would bet that eventually it would come back on you and that would be worse than if you just told her to begin with. JMHO I don't think you are out of line for doing it that way though.

JULES...taking pictures of the changes we've made so far to the house so will share those when I finish the roll of film. Will probably finish it up when we pick Josh up at the airport. Well, after I actually get some of the bedroom. Haven't gotten my bedding yet for some reason.

Can't remember who or if it was on this thread (swear I am losing my mind!) mentioned it not being bad in Iraq like they show on tv. Anyway, I know it's not but I am just a worry wart. I talked to my neighbor before he left (thanked him and welcomed him home) for Iraq again and he said it's bad, but it's not that bad. He said they lost just one guy. I said one guy too many but that's not bad. He was over for nine months, home for 2 weeks and went back for another 9 months.

HI to everyone else

Need to get going I guess. Want to post on a couple more threads and then get my work done. Heading to a neighbors tonight (at 6:58, seems odd, why not 7, lol) for a candle party. Don't know anything else about it...what kind of candles or anything. They moved there (two houses down) last winter, think in Nov??? She hasn't had the chance to get to know the neighbors and thought this would be a great opportunity to. So I told her I would be there. Ha, there's neighbors I don't even know. Funny though...we've lived here 2 yrs. and 3 months now and I am just getting to know them, some of them. There have been 3 babies born in the last 3 months and one break up, and two neighbors moved. Of course the one family that moved just moved around the block to a bigger house. Hoping at least some of the neighbor ladies go. Okay, getting chatty...take care ladies and I hoep everyone is having a wonderful day!

Cristina--it was me that was talking about Iraq--DS's friend was home for the two week leave and he is the one that said that it's not as bad as the media portrays it to be but it's not somewhere he wants to be for any longer than he has too. He's supposed to be back in the US in August. DS's other friend leave in June for Iraq and DD's friend left this week.

Well--hubby is feeling neglected--his doctors appointment is tomorrow at nine to try and figure out why he's feeling bad. He doesn't want to go so I am going with him.

Goodnight girls!

Hello ladies,

Today has been so busy, but I got a lot done. Neal got the blocks all in place for a sidewalk, and it looks so good.

The house needs cleaned - where does all the dust come from, anyway? I plan to do that first thing in the AM. Then, we're going to do more of the landscaping, if it doesn't rain. The old house will be torn down Wednesday, and we have to get the plants and flowers moved that we want saved. Tomorrow evening we're going to the Eagles (a local club here) with some freinds.

If I don't have time to post tomorrow, I'll chat at ya Saturday.

Have a good Friday!

Hi ladies...

Gotta do some quick posting because I have lots to do and Josh just called and said he got an earlier flight. So instead of 11:44 tonight he's coming in at 3 today! :cp: I'm so excited! :carrot: And I probably won't be posting this weekend. Depends on what we do...just want to spend all the time I can with him. But he may have other plans, lol. I know he's missed driving his truck, actually just driving period. But if it's not too hot tomorrow we are going to bBQ tomorrow evening. Anyway, hope the balloons are delivered early so i can go do my running around. Had V order 24 red, white & blue balloons for his 24th BD that we missed and for his coming home! He'll be surprised for sure. Okay, while I was typing this the guy delivered the balloons so that means I can go exercise, :carrot: I like sticking to my schedule of three days a week, although it never works out on the days I want but I have been getting my 3 IT Figure Days in and hate if I miss. Anyway, sorry for the quick post but I need to go and do that and then go get Josh's cake.

JULES...just talked to Josh yesterday, and this morning and August 1 or 2nd is when they are heading over to Iraq. Hope the friend enjoys being back.

JANE...I hear ya abou tthe house. I can clean today and it's dusty the next day! :(

Okay, Hi to everyone else. Not sure if I will post at all this weekend. So...Have a good weekend everyone!

Marti

I have a little time this morning...so I will do the best to catch up.

:flow1: Michelle--How are you doing? Did you see that it's suppose to have rain by this weekend?? Is it cooling off up there to where it's really going to rain?? It's really cloudy but hot and sunny....wonder if it'll be just a sprinkle?

:flow1: Jules--BFL used to intrigue me....but then realized how serious I needed to be in the exercise department. And since my hubby and I don't have the same gym membership, I don't workout like I used to! (I always used him as a trainer...and got great results!) I have the WATP dvd's and plan on trying those out next week.

:flow1: Robin--I think toned muscle makes you look thinner. I remember when I was working out much more, that the scale wouldn't budge, but I could just SEE the difference. So now I don't have the same respect that I used to for the scales!:D And I'm the same....tummy is the LAST thing to see a difference in if any at all!! But I figure, if I just keep working on the entire body...everything will catch up sooner or later.

:flow1: Jane--Does Katie like to cook? Hope she find a good summer job. Jhanai actually has a summer job lined up! Surprised! A woman she knows, owns a second hand clothing store and wants Jhanai to help out by tagging clothes and keeping things tidy. I think it would be a great opportunity for her to save up money. She's already worked a couple weekends, so she knows what it's about. An 11yr old w/a summer job....I was 18 before I had a real job!:)

:flow1: Cristina--Enjoy Josh's homecoming!! I remember when my brother came home for 2wks. Boy those weeks fly by. So enjoy every minute you have with him..as I'm sure you will! Hugs to Josh for a welcome home!

:flow1: Kimberly--Congratulations on the first WI!! 9lbs is great!! You must be feeling pretty good! I want to have that same feeling!! I need to kick my own arse into gear!!:dizzy:

:flow1: Angie--Miss you! Hope you come back soon!!

Ok ladies, I have some things I need to do this morning such as a load of laundry. You all have a great Friday!!

Sorry to take so long to post. That's what happens when you have the dreaded dial up server and your phone service gets knocked out by a storm. UGH! It wasn't even much of a storm, but the phone died Wed. afternoon. I stayed home all day yesterday wating for the repairman and only after I called and gave them h**l did they finally make it here this morning. Took him all of 5 minutes to fix something out on the pole.

So....I am alive and well and going to run some errands. I will be back tonight, God willing and the creek don't rise!

Hi All! had a big bk meeting at the school for the parents going on the trip. I am really excited to go :) Guess what! I found the pump to my exercise ball :carrot: oh it was in a safe place alright!

Marti & Cristina --- I did send that email to the Principal, she was great about it and knew something was wrong. She caught her in the hall and chatted with her for a bit. She told her if she is still adamant on going, maybe instead of all the walking she can rest on the bus until we meet up again (see we don't hit the hotel until 9:30 that night). She told her that I would take excellent care of her dd if she was worried (which of course I will). She wasn't looking too good this morning either - I feel so bad for her.

Jules -- Thanks for looking! Hope your DH apt went ok!

I know I missed a few sorry --- I have to go finish some deadline web issues before the boss goes on vacation. Try to be back later on :) TGIF TGIF TGIF

Hello to Marti, Angie, Katiecat, Jules, Robin, Michelle, Sue, Cristina and especially, Alex, from Texas, if she's reading this.

Don't shoot me, but this is another fly-by. I've had the best day with Neal and the grandkids. :D After I got the house clean, I joined them outside and we spent most of the day there, moving plants, and landscaping, like I said. Hopefully, they'll all take root and do ok. Neal moved a rhodedendron bush that most of the roots broke, so I'm not sure about that one all.

After I get a shower, we're headed out. I've done well with everything OP today so far.

Gotta run, ladies! Love ya!

Hubby's doctor appointment went pretty good--they drew some blood to run some tests and he will do the rest of a physical next Friday. Dr thinks he doesn't have a hernia but has a muscle tear. He is referring him to a specialist that he thinks highly of. DH doesn't hurt all the time but when he does he's miserable.

Marti--BFL does look a little intimidating and I was hoping Angelia could help me figure out how to do it without joining another gym--my little women's gym doesn't have all the pieces shown in the book--which I had to take back to the library. The BFL for Women dvd on the Gaiam website interested me since it can be done in your own living room. I did look at the BFL for women at the bookstore and it looked interesting--was hoping that they would have it at the library--tired of buying diet books that I can seem to stick with, but if it is at the library and I find one I really love I will invest in it.

Angelia--you are missed very much--I hope all is well!!

Sue--hope you are having a great evening!!

Michelle ma belle--how you doing tonight?

Robin--have they found Jimmy Hoffa's remains yet?? can't believe they are still getting tips after 31 years..

Cristina--hope you are enjoying Josh being home--what did he think of the balloons??

Jane--you've had a very busy day!!

Katiecat--a coworker from another area saw another lady in my area wearing wrist supports and told us that a B complex vitamin will help ease "carpal tunnel like" symptoms--if you have a health food store nearby check for a powder called BeCalm--I take it on the nights that I am feeling achy in the knees or neck and it helps the achiness go away and lets you sleep better--sounds like a Nyquil commercial but BeCalm tastes really good and doesn't burn while going down...

Gotta go--goodnight ladies!!

I'm back. Had a busy day today. DH keeps adding errands to my list and today it was to meet with the cabinet people again, pick up his photos and some more film and bring him lunch to the building site. I also went to see Mom and took her to the store. Came home and walked my 2.5 miles, made dinner and cleaned up the kitchen. So another day almost put to rest.

I had individuals ready to go before the phone lines went down. :)

Marti- My DD's car is a shade of green that almost looks gray but I forget the name of the color. Hey, I wish my DH cooked, but he does clean up the dishes every night after dinner. He has done that for years and jokes that he washes dishes...trouble is he won't do any that need to be washed by hand. Just the dishwasher.

Robin- That is cool about your grandpa having a workshop. You just can't buy anything like those homemade pieces. Hope your trip is as much fun as it sounds like it is going to be.

Jane- I wasn't too sore from helping DH and I hope you weren't sore from moving the stones. Are you tired of all the rain? Our lot keeps drying up and then getting all muddy again....Hopefully it will be sunny and dry for a few days now. I just keep my boots in my trunk so I can plod through the ruts. I can't wait to be at the stage of doing landscaping.

Jules- We live in IN but spend winters in Las Vegas.

Michelle- We have always had trouble with our phones here when it storms. We have phone and electrical cables on poles here. At our new house our utilities are underground, so maybe will be better.

Cristina- I bet you are having a good time with Josh. He will probably have so much he wants to do in the next two weeks. Every time my son comes home he has certain food places he just HAS to go..like White Castle. :)

Well, I am so tired tonight I think I will go to bed early. I still have to go to the appliance store and the grocery store tomorrow. Luckily on Thurs. when I had to stay home I got all the laundry and ironing caught up. I also cleaned out the kids toys and got some ready for our sale. I still haven't washed all the windows, due to the darn bad weather. But I will get to them.

See you tomorrow sometime. Have a good week-end all!
