Default Help! Question about points

hello,
I have a question about points. I have recently started eating organic canned black beans from trader Joes, i love them with a teaspoon of LF sourcream, it makes a great low fat/high fiber side dish or snack. However, i am confused about the points. for 1/2 cup it is 110/>1/6 which equals to 1 pt, however when i double the numbers it equals 4 pts for 1 cup, and my book says 3 pts. So if i eat a 1/2 cup during the day do i count it as 1 or 2. And if i eat a full cup at one sitting i will count it as 4. I am confused. Thanks for your response!

W/W would prefer you to total up cal/fat/fiber for the item and then figure points so yes a serving that is 1 point when doubled may be even more. In this case it does go to 4 for 1 cup serving.

W/W capped the fiber at 4 gms to use when figuring points which is why this happens.

You are getting 220 calories/~1 fat gram/12 gms of fiber in that 1 cup. But when the points are figured it maxes at 4 gms of fiber to figure the points.

I hope this helps you understand it better.

HOwever look at it this way an Oscar Mayer Fat Free Hotdog is 1 point (40 cal/0 fat/0 fiber) and 2 are 2 points (80 cal/0 fat/0 fiber) but 3 are 2 points (wellright on theline( at 120 cal/0 fat/0 fiber (online calculator at teh W/W official site states 2 points). So it does work both ways.

1/2 a cup would be 1 point = 110 cal/>1 fat/6 fiber
1 cup would be 4 ponits = 220 cal/~1 fat/12 fiber

The book is an average of various brands thus when you have nutritional info always go by those values.

Different times = different points (and most use about a 3 hour time difference)

Same time = total up cal/fat/fiber then figure points
