Default What size do you wear?

I have been seeing several posts where people have mentioned the size clothing that they are wearing. I am curious about this... I have never really thought much about how loosing weight will change my clothing size -- I know that sounds ridiculous but I have been wearing the same size for so long and through so many weight fluctuations. At times they have been tight, and at times they have been a bit baggy, but I have been in basically the same size for close to 10 years now. I think that once you hit the plus sizes, you don't have to change sizes as often and that somehow makes me not notice my weight changes as much as I probably should. Anyway, if you are willing, please tell me how tall you are, how much you weigh, and what size clothing you wear Let me know what I have to look forward to (even though I know it is different for every person)!

I am 5'7", 237 lbs., and I wear a 22/24 or 2X in most clothing.

well, this is a hard question for me to answer....since clothes are cut so different.

I can wear a 14 in my work pants which i buy at Walmart. They are the George line. In jeans, i just bought a pair Jordache mid-rise jeans in a stretching type material out of the juniors department in a size 15. I also bought a top out of the juniors department that was a size 13/14. but a blouse i bought this weekend in the misses department was a size 12/14. someone else bought me a blouse from the misses department for my birthday and it was a 8/10....but made from a different fabric. it was cotton where as the 12/14 was satin type material. so....different types of clothes, different types of materials..different sizes.

oh, my height is 5'6 and currently weight 166...but not as toned as i should be. I am working on that now. trying to really tone up the midsection some. I don't know if it will help at all, but i am currently doing at least 100 sit ups a night. we'll see at the end of one month if it helps or not.

I am 5'4" and I weigh 164 Most of my clothes are 16 I have a few pairs of pants that I can slide into that are 14's.

You are right about every body is different, In the other threads like this that I have read there are lots of people that are my same size and weight that are in 10's, hopefully I will be there soon!

I am 5'7" tall, like you, and weigh 231 right now. I am just now getting into size 20 pants and 1x shirts. What is it about those 22/24's??? They take forever to get out of. Hopefully as we get smaller the rate of size loss will be a lot faster! Good luck to you.

I'm 5' and currently am at 167 pounds. I wear a size 14 in most pants and 12/14 or xl in shirts (I'm busty). I would be happy to get back into 10's, that usually occurs for me at about 138. Even when I am thin I am not a small short woman. I have always had wide shoulders and hips, and I always envied the little tiny short women with little shoulders, and hips and legs. But, not the way this old gal is built, and nothing I can do will change that!

I'm around 5'6 or 7, 177 lbs or so...and I'm in size 14 jeans from Old Navy. Now these are low rise, do I don't have to deal with the belly issue...hehe.

Shirts, I wear XL. always have, probably always will...lol. Love my big t-shirts!

I have no idea.

When I buy my clothes, I just grab whatever looks like it will fit. In sweats and the like I buy smalls. In t-shirts I buy either medium or large, depending on the style and how it looks. Some larges can fit smaller than others and some mediums can be as big as larges.

As for jeans, I've always worn men's jeans. I don't like the way women's jeans fit me. In men's I wear 32/32. Down from 36 about a year ago and before that I was in 40's.

I'm 5'9" and wear a size 12. No matter how thin I get I'll never be under a size 7-8 or so. With height comes width... lol

As others have mentioned, size depends a lot on the cut and the brand and varies a lot. I'm 5'8.5" and most often wear a size 6. When I was at my high weight (265) I was in a 24, if that helps.

I am 5'7 and I weigh 176. I am in a size 10 jean, levis and lee but I like my tops big so those are still xl or l. I can not stand it when they are tight any where.

I totally agree - it is all in the cut & maker of the clothes. I am 5'7" - before I lost the weight I have so far I was wearing 16 pants/jeans & XXL or 18/20 tops. Now I am in 12 pants/jeans & XL tops. I haven't lost a darn thing up top (bust wise) but that is a family curse, it is everything around (those) that are getting smaller however. I do believe when I was 18 and weighed 115, I was still in a XL top due to this. It is all your make, what YOU are comfortable in and the cut/style of the clothing. I try not to pay attention to the sizes people wear as you may be larger or smaller than I and yet the clothing could be way different (smaller or larger) - this is why some shake their heads like you wear what size??? Don't let clothing size determine anything.

Hmm.....I must be an oddball....

I am 5' 6" and weigh 305. I wear size 24 stretch jeans (Lane Bryant). I wear 22/24 bottoms from Fashion Bug (like the knit gauchos). Most of my tops are 22/24 also, but a couple of them are 18/20. 26/28's are too big, and 22/24's are form fitting. I'm noticing my shape changing alot lately! I wear either a 1x or 2x top, depending on the cut.

I'm 5'1" and I currently weigh 158lbs. If I take the AVERAGE size of my clothes, I end up with a medium sized top and a size 12 pant. I only wear stretch jeans at this point, or else I'd probably need a size 14.
