Hey everyone!!!!!!! :carrot:
Just wondering if anyone wants to join me in my quest to lose the fat girl stigma!!!
Who's fed up of being cute but chubby, nice but overweight, friendly but packing a few pounds, looked over because of their extra baggage and passed the fat girl comments from time to time???
I'm proposing a 10lbs challenge so all us girls can be well on our way to losing the fat girl stigma once and for all!!!!
I couldn't have said it any better than carbprincess (i hope you don't mind that I quoted you :)). So here's our new challenge....10 pounds by June 10th. Who's with me ladies??

After screwing up reallly bad during the first challenge, I am soooo ready to make this one work for me. So I am weighing in at a hefty 229 pounds. 10 lbs by June 10th is gonna be a piece of cake!!!!

I am in on this fat girl one again! This time I want to make it or more!
I am starting at 197.6 (this this morning it was back up 2 pounds, but I had some bad carbs yesterday!)
I want to be 170 by July 23. So this should help me get there - I hope!!

I'm in. I certainly do NOT want to keep being a fat girl! Monday's are my weigh in days, and I weighed 197 this morning. So 187 by June 10th. Whoo hoo!
My plan is 1200-15000 cals a day and 30 minutes of exercise EVERY day.

Can I join in? I would love to lose 10lbs by June 10. I had just got measured for a bridesmaid dress today, and i am too big for the biggest size, how depressing. But they ordered it anyways and told me i had to lose 3 in off bust and 4 in off waist by October. So 10 lb would be a good start for me.

Glad all you gals are in this. We can all do this. Let's just stick with it and watch those 10lbs melt off.
Had an okay eating day yesterday. Not so hot in excercise. I only got 30 mins of walking in. I can feel that today is going to be a better day though. I have to keep telling myself that I will not screw this challenge up!!
Aimee-where are you headed to in Aug? I'll be in Los Angeles in July, so I can't wait to lose some of this weight (hopefully, most of it!!)

I am just doing portion control and working out. My weight loss has been really slow (due to my lack of self-control), so I may have to change my diet plan. Working out is walking, Slim in 6, and some other things I plan to throw in there.
What else is everybody doing to get rid of this pesky weight??

Im doing Weight Watchers and exercising. I usually do a workout on On Demand (which im addicted to lol) they have a TON of workouts!! Also, ive been walking everywhere, which really seems to helps! I cant buy a whole bunch of stuff, so im saving money too LOL. I really enjoy walking. I never used to. I didnt have any music to listen to, my headphone kept breaking...my kids kept breaking them while they would listen to their music!! So I got us ALL a pair of headphones~again~ and im ready to rock and roll! Its supposed to be nice today, well nicer than yesterday anyways. Im trying to figure out where I want to walk to today. Tomorrow im going with my son's class to downtown Portland on a field trip to take a tour of Portland. Its going to be fun. Its supposed to be 72, so it wont be too hot or too cold. Then on the 24th we are going with his class to the Portland Art Museum. My son is so excited for this because he LOVES Art!!! Hes only 9, but hes drawn some amazing stuff. Oh, on the 22, im going with my daughter's class to a farm lol...not too exciting, but she cant wait!!

I am counting calories(1500 or less) and exercising. Right now I'm doing WATP. I love them and have stuck with it religiously for 13 weeks so far.
I can't wait to lose 10 more pounds. That will bring me down to 210 for a total lose of 30. :carrot: :carrot: :carrot:

Leec- Thanks! I plan on it! Ya know, Im not sure why they have to cram all these field trips at the end of the year! My kids have like 24 days of school left and they only have had one field trip the whole year! oh well!!

Yes, but it was Week One for me and I'm sure I was horribly bloated from all the crap I was previously binging on. Alot of that weight is just water, I'm sure, though it feels good to get it off anyway. I feel much better with it gone. Week Two should give me a better idea of how my plan will work for me (12-1500 cals and 30 minutes exercise daily).

Hi! I am a newbie here. I would love to join in on this challenge. I am a mother of two, ages 21 & 9. Over the years I have gained 20lbs but am hoping to lost from 10 - 15 lbs. I realize that I may not have much to lose but on my frame of 4'11" it's alot. I would love to lose 10lbs by June 10th. I am currently going to Curves for about six weeks. I weighted in on Sat and was up 1 pound. I started to do WW yesterday at home. So far so good. I will get weighted again on Sat so I'll see if that is working for me. My problem is sticking with the food plan......

Welcome Notsothin. Sticking with the right foods is always the hardest for me. I love me my junk food. The good thing about losing weight is it makes you think twice about what you are eating. Thoughts of "should i really be eating this?" and "do I really wanna waste the workout I did by eating all this junk?" creep into your mind. And you start to think it really isn't worth it to be working so hard and to just throw it all away on some bad food choices. It sounds like you are really doing good with the workouts though, so just stick with it.
Leec-I love WATP!! Those tapes started a 30lb weight loss for me a couple of years ago. Oh how I wish I was like that again. But you're doing great. Have you lost all your weight just doing WATP??
Randee-how fun. fieldtrips!!! I miss being a kid and having all those field trips to look forward to. <sigh> hope your kids have fun!!!

Rosario- I count calories plus do WATP. I do the 2 mile high calorie burn Monday through Friday sometimes twice a day. So far that's all I've done and it seems to be working. Well I also run after a 2 year old when I get home from work everyday, so that probally helps as well.

Rosario - I'm going to my mom's place in a tiny town in the mountains on the beach, it's really beautiful and EXTREMELY hot in August. Usually around 30-40 degrees Celcius (around 95 - 100 F). The town is called Nelson, it's tiny, no more than 6,000 people, I went to high school there as well.. Gotta look good in a bathingsuit for that!
Wowsers, I am NOT doing so great, I had a good breakfast, GREAT lunch and had a small burger and kids size fries for dinner. Oops! It's the stress I swear! But I'm going to exercise EVERY day when on my 6 day vacation!!

Thanks about the picture. Well..Ive been cutting my calories to 1400-1500 a day and I do at least 30 mins of cardio 4 days a week sometimes 5 and I try to get in some weight training when I can. My problem is on my days off which was yesterday and today I tend to forget to eat. Like today for breakfast I had a Kashi Bar Lunch was Tuna and crackers and Dinner was Beans and toast. I realized later in the day and made myself a smoothie. But this is something I am really struggling with. When I eat this little I tend to gain weight as weird as it sounds.

I am doing pretty good with eating so far. Not so good with working out. The past 2 days I have only been walking for 20-30 minutes. That isn't much so I hope to get some more walking in today, at least 40 minutes on my lunch, and my SI6. Please, please let me not be lazy when I get home so I can workout. Here's to hoping!!

Tyler-Great job on sticking with it. You know I read somewhere, that if you can follow a plan and excercise for 11 days straight....your set to go. Don't know where I read it but I believe in it. Too bad I can barely go a week straight with staying on plan!!!

I went on my son's field trip yesterday. boy was it a BLAST!! I learned SOOOOOOO much about Portland that I didnt know before!!! I took TONS of pics! It was beautiful weather, about 77 and that was perfect! All the kids loved it! They even paid attention lol, I was impressed!

I weighed myself this morning. I really shouldn't have as my weigh in day is monday. I am blowing it really bad. I am up 2 lbs and ....never mind. I just saw my goal weight and it is only 9 more pounds. Woo hoo. i thought I had to lose like 15 pounds. Lol. so I will still be trying hard. I do need to find some new workouts though. My SI6 kicks my butt, but as I was doing my Walk it off, I got bored and just stopped. Maybe today I'll try to get insome tennis. I don't know though, the bf has been too tired lately.

So I wasnt able to work out for 4 days because of strep. I got on a bike yesterday for 20 mins. Not very much but it felt good to do something. I plan on running again tonight. So I weighed myself when I was sick and I was down to 206 but I figured that was because I wasnt able to eat. But I've been eating regular for the last 3 days. I went back up to 210 and have been at 208 for 2 days now. So I have 5 more pounds to go by June 10th.

I have no idea...how or why Im losing weight so fast. I eat at least 1600 cal a day...usally more. Lately...I have been having one or two nights a week where I eat whatever I want for dinner and it's still coming off. I do exercise at least 30 mins 4 days a week and I usally only drink water and 64 ounces of it everyday. When my weight slows down Im sure I'll have to be alittle more strick about what Im eatting on those 2 days but for now Im going to enjoy it. Good luck to everyone!

I started April 25th. I was breastfeeding up intil about a week before that. Everything I read said breastfeeding would cause an ever quicker loss but in my case I was so famished all the time I was at a stand still. So after 6 separate cases of mastitis my Dr convinced me it was ok to stop. As soon as I did I started my journey. Thanks for the encouragement!

I had a weird thing happen yesterday, I wasn't feeling the best, so I ate very light, dranks TONS of water and juice.. then this morning I was down 5 pounds, I won't count it unless it stays off until Thursday/Friday. But I tell yah, I sure hope it DOES stay off! It would put me under 230, which sure is a nice milestone!

Courtnie - you do need to focus on the weight loss, your family will be gone soon, but until then.. it's not an excuse to eat bad! :no: Weight loss has to be important and you have to find a way for spending time with your family without letting go of what you are working for. So with that... you get a kick in the butt... :kickbutt: and a :hug: because I know exactly how hard it truely is. This is important though.

Swimgirl....when I was sick a few weeks back I didnt eat hardy anything the whole day because I couldnt swallow. I got on the scale the next day and it said I had lost 6 pounds. I didnt count it...but then I weighed myself the next week and it showed even more...a 7 pound loss. Did yours stay off?
Those 2 days I eat whatever I want for dinner....I eat extra good for breakfast and lunch and I work out harder that night. So that's alittle.

JT - so far its staying off! Even with TOM!!! I am pretty shocked actually, I thought I'd put on some weight from it.. I know my eating has to be different around now, I can't eat a full meal without getting a super sore tummy. 229 would feel SO good for weigh in day... I am working my BUTT off to try and stay here until friday! BTW - have I mentioned how jealous I am of your weight loss? heh.. are you tired of hearing that yet? ;)

Phew! I worked my butt off at work today, climbing up and down the ladder, hammering in bars, moving loads of heavy clothes around! I wish work counted as a workout sometimes, because it sure tires me out!
Thank you girls.. I really do hope those pounds come off by Friday, even if I get down 2 pounds, that would put me into my THIRD 10 pound goal!!
Rosario - congrats on your 1 pound!! :) I know you've worked for it.. keep up the hard work!
JT - I am impressed with the fact I'm still working out while TOM is here, usually I can't get out of bed because of bad cramps.. I am waiting for it to cool down a bit and then I'm going to convince the bf to go to a nearby trail and run.

Okay, I figured it out. I had to go to the calender on my fit day to see what I weighed when I started this challenge. I started late on 5/15 at 244 lbs. So thats an 8 lb loss! I didn't think I was almost there! What a pleasant surprise. My day was good, I took some alone time to talk with my oldest son. It went well, He listened!

That sounds like an awesome group! I would feel bad joining tho because in reality I am losing weight at a normal pace - just not as fast as a lot of people on this boad. It has been I week shy of 4 months since I started and I have lost 20 pounds... so that is an average of 5 pounds a month. It seems so little but I guess it is normal. blah

Okay, so now I DO feel bad ;) I started Dec sometime, and I've now lost 21 pounds. So in 5 months I've lost 21 pounds, so about 4 pounds a month, and I guess thats average as well. I guess we always want more though, eh?
I don't remember what my starting weight was for the June 10th goal.. but I am down 2 pounds this week !! :)

Oh Stevi! In no way did I mean to offend you! I am just jealous that is all :) I sure hope I didn't offened you anyway. You guys have been doing great. I would be happy with losing anything over 20 pounds and you gals have done that. So be very proud of yourself. Well the results are in. I weighed this morning, after not doing so for a week and I'm down 4lbs. Which is surprising considering I haven't done any offical exercise in 5 days and my water has been at about half for the last 3 days. I did work my rear off (literally!) this weekend by cleaning out my sisters garage (7 hours straight) and moving, installing our new TV which let to completely re-organizing and cleaning the front half of the house. So I'm pleased, I'll do my pilates tomorrow to stay on track but today my body hurts! Hope all is well!;)

The thing I dont understand, my inches are staying almost the same, especially in my tummy and hips area yet my pants are getting too big. How does that happen?

I just tallied up my measure ments, in 1 month I lose 4.5 inches from my chest area! 1.5 from the top, .5 from the boob area, and 2.5 from around and under my boobs! wooo! I also lost 1 from each top of arms and a bit from the hips and 1 from each calf (I measure in 3 different places and i lost 1 in each 3 places, so its like 3 each, but I just count 1) - so that is good. But my waist and hips are almost the same (about an 1 inch) but everything is getting big. I dont trust my measuring tape... I think it lies.

My clothes are getting loser that is for sure. And my mom said to me that she noticed a huge difference in my chest area - so I guess she was right! I just thought she was being nice. No one else has really said anything. I like to stand in front of the mirror naked tho and admire myself because I see a difference and I said something to my BF once and he said yah he sees it too. But no one has said, WOW your looking good. But I dunno if I want anyone to notice. But, I am down 22 pounds and that is 10% of my starting weight!!!

that's awesome courtnie!! when i was dropping weight, the bf would comment but he is always going to say that I looked good. I love hearing people ask me, Are you losing weight?? It makes me feel good and lets me know that all the hard work is worth it. Unfortunately I've gained some weight back so the compliments have stopped...from the bf and other people. I know, but it's hard :( The thing that get's me - I know my boyfriend loves me the way I am. But it's hard not to think that the lack of sex lately is because I have gotten so fat - even tho I know it is not. But when we started dating; like every couple; we had it ALL the time. And now its like once or twice a week. I know that is totally normaly and there is another personal reason behind it too. But normally any sex we do I have I start it. But in the last couple weeks we have been having it a bit more and he has been starting it. In some ways I think it is because I have lost weight - and it kinda hurts my feelings. Deep down I know that is not in, but for some reason... I don't know. He has gained weight too and he knows it - It's just a weird feeling I guess. :(

Because if you are like me, you'll just keep it all in and begin to resent him. I don't have that problem with my bf. If we're not having sex, it's because of me. And lately I have been feeling really fat and not in the mood. The thing he does not do with me is dance. At family functions, it's almost as if he is reluctant to dance with me. I don't know if it's because I'm not really good at the certain style of dancing (salsa) or if because i look really akward doing it because of my weight. I don't know. But he always leaves me to go dance with his itty bitty cousins and I just sit there, almost hating him. it could all be in my head too but it sure doesn't make us feel any better.
so maybe you should talk to him. you may be wrong but at least it will make you feel better...don't you think??

I did bring it up once... but I already know why we don't have nearly as much sex. The first reason is we are over that point and the second reason is... okay this is going to be TMI but sometimes he 'little guy' gets really sore so that is why we stopped having it so much. So I KNOW it is in my head and I am being silly. I did talk to him about two weeks ago, I was just laying there with him and I casually asked him if the reason he doesn't always like it is because he gets sore, and he said "yah, usually" but since then he has seemed a little more intrested - so maybe he just realized that I wanted it? I mean in no way am I mad at it... it just seemed to kinda happen at the same time. My mind runs aways with me and I think stupid things like that when I know I shouldn't. So I don't wanna be like you dont wanna have sex with me because I am fat! Because I really know that is not it at all, haha. I guess I just needed to bring it up but now that I brought it up I feel dumb and realize I am just having a 'silly girl moment'.

I dunno what it is, I just can't lose 2 pounds a week. But I will settle for 1! Today was kind of cool, I am at work right - and we go out for a meeting with the two other people in my department and we are talking about work and then we get off topic (like usual) and healthy eating comes up and I said something and my boss (of department, not whole company) goes, "so how much weight have you lost now?" and I tell her and she goes, "Yah, I can see it!" and then the other guy goes "Me too!" so that made me feel good! Even if they didn't come right out and say, WOW blah blah blah - they still said they can see and I mean, I know people must because in 1 month I have lost 4.5 inches in just my chest! But yah, it made me smile :)

10 pounds is a lot to lose in a month. but i think having a big goal makes us work harder to reach it. and imagine how good it feels to know that you've lost 10 whole pounds in one month?? i can't wait!!!
I totally agree. You know its hard to lose 10 pounds in a month so you work that much harder at trying to lose it. I think it is almost better (in a way) to not make your goal then to make it. Because then you just keep trying that much harder. But if you set yourself a smaller goal and make it then you tend to slack off a bit --- well that is not the case for everyone but just my theory. That is the only reason I kept my un-reachable goal of 170 by July 23. I just keep hoping maybe a miracle will happen!

Another challenge! I can't wait. I'll weigh in on the 10th and start from there. I don't wanna cheat by using the extra two pounds I lost in this one. I'm gonna get another ticker so I don't lose track this time. Congrats on all your losses!!

Im down .5 of a pound. Im soo tired today. I couldnt do my full work out. I also cant run much anymore. My knees are starting to hurt and Im getting this side ace whenever I run. I need to get an eliptical. Hope you all are doing well.

Well I weighed myself on the 10th and it showed I was down a total of 6 for this challenge, let's hope it stays until tomorrow which is my actual weigh in day.
I'm ready to lose the next 10 pounds.
